Established in 1992.
in New Jersey, early focus of the business was sheet metal fabrication (we had our own sheet metal shop). Design and installation of HVAC systems, commercial and residential. As the customer base grew service and maintenance became a natural addition. A family decision to relocate to Arizona, (involving care of elder in laws) was made. Service King's focus today is timely reliable service of Ac systems. We have a service contract for every need, Including all inclusive Club memberships which covers repairs, maintenance for a low monthly cost.

My background includes welding, sheet metal fabrication,residential, commercial and industrial systems design fabrication and installation, as well as installation, maintenance and repair of AC units, heat pumps, furnaces. I Previously owned and operated a HVAC contracting business in the north east. Today my focus is repairs and maintenance of air conditioning and heating systems.

Every single year we use John and his staff for our air conditioning/heating needs and service and every year they provide top notch service. They also do other handyman work, and every year we're so glad when they come and fix everything. Somethings I still see and remember when they fixed them, and what a creative way it was how they fixed it, and I'm SOOOO glad I called them and you will be too.
Service Kind is always very prompt, responsive and professional. They are my go to AC team after having experiences with several AC service/repairers in the valley. They only repair what is needed and provide you with choices/options you may want to consider. They do not pressure you into paying for repairs or equipment you may not need. My house is a two story 8,300 sq foot home with two large AC units. Therefore, I cannot wait several days for someone to show up when it is100+ degrees outside.
We discovered John King's, Service King for HVAC service three homes ago and each new place he's helped with the HVAC system. Quick to respond, Very thorough, and has been super helpful to us understanding our system(s). Honest and reasonable costs, plus not pressuring for system replacement. My cousin did have him replace their system and are completely satisfied. John also has done two plumbing repairs - clean and fixed right at reasonable cost. We have his twice a year service plan and appreciate him going above and beyond... will have him replace our system when it's time
John has done annual maintenance of our two air conditioning units for the last 8 years. Our 24 year old units (installed in 1998) are still functioning quite well. I think a major part of the credit goes to John Farrell of Service King. I find John conscientious, honest, and very reasonable. His recommendations are based on lots of testing, analysis and good judgement. I trust him completely.

John Farrel is personable and really cares about his clients and ensuring that everything is working correctly on your system, whether it's heating or cooling you can trust he's there to fix it and maintain it correctly. No hidden charges or fees and he explains what he did if he has to do any work. He's reasonable and always considerate of your home and the work he performs.

My A/C unit died right in the middle of summer. Service King had been servicing it for years and we discussed it might be on its last leg. When I called John, he was out the same day. After shopping around for handymen, I found John was a consistent in his prompt responses and no BS approach. He is an HVAC guy, but does some solid handyman work as well.
I have so far had him do some minor outside projects, as well as some demolitions work that he made an amazing job on. So far everything I have thrown his was has come out great, and I am very pleased with his results. I am already start to plan for more things that I need help with around the house.
At this time, he is my go-to handyman.

Called because my heater died. After thoroughly scouring Yelp reviews I called John. He came out 40 minutes after my call. A few things were not working on the unit and John was able to quickly and efficiently diagnose the problem and fix it on the spot! Paid about 40% of what big name companies charge. MORE THAN PLEASED!!! FAST AND FANTASTIC SERVICE!
I felt so bad my husband and I had been putting off fixing the a.c. system until summer really hit but we just couldn't take it !! We called service king last minute and John ended up squeezing us in, spending his Friday evening making sure the unit was back up n running . He was very professional and fast! 10/10 would recommend!!

I requested a quote to get my thermostat fixed, figuring it was a wiring problem with the thermostat itself from when my husband and I installed a smart thermostat ourselves. Got a very quick response from John who - unlike many of the other people I requested quotes from - actually gave me a quote. He showed up on time to do the repair I requested, and went above and beyond by checking out basically our whole heating/cooling system.
We needed more work done than originally requested, but he asked before starting anything and respected my desire to not have any additional holes drilled in our wall. Very happy with the service given and the price, and will definitely be calling John for any handyman work we need done in the future.
I discovered it is best to contact the dealer that handles your brand of HVAC unit. Although the technician properly diagnosed the problem their cost of repair was nearly double that of the local Goodman dealer. I saved several hundred dollars by going through the dealer.
John came out and did my install for 3 nest thermostats. His rate was the lowest of like 10 quotes, he did awesome work and would use him again.

I have been using John as a handyman for a number of rental properties that I own. He has been a godsend! Very prompt and responsive, more than fair pricing and very professional. I wouldn't work with anyone else! Highly recommended.
We have had John come to our home quite a few times now to do everything from mounting and wiring TVs, surround sound, installing fans, hanging things, assembling furniture, you name it and he can do it. John came out on very short notice on a Monday night. I called him close to his close time, and he still came out with in 20 minutes to look at my air conditioner that had just failed. He was able to replace the broken part and less than 2 hours after discovering my air conditioning unit had failed it was up and running. I was thinking it was going to be a long Arizona night, but no, John came through like a superstar. His pricing was very fair as well. Thank you for letting us have a comfortable night!

I had a quote from 3 companies. Went with John at Service King he was the best. I will call him going forward for future repairs or service.
Got a very quick response from John when I requested a quoted. He even offered to do additional work since what I needed done was going to take less than service hour to complete. He showed up on time to do the repair, was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended and we'll be calling upon him again for sure.

John did excellent work in putting in my ductless mini split unit in my garage converted bedroom. He is professional, prompt and dependable.
John came on very little notice to help me with an A/C problem after two a/c guys had tried. He sanitized the drain pipes and cleaned the indoor coil which FINALLY eliminated the musky moldy odor I have been smelling for a couple weeks now. The other guys tried, but didn't dig deep enough. I read these reviews and knew John was the man for this! After two nights in a motel...I am finally back home, in crisp clean safe air again!! YAY!!! Thanks so much John! Because life is full of little knocks...we will most definitely be calling you again! Very communicative, very affordable, and knows his stuff! Call John to get it done right the first time!
John showed up, on-time and did an excellent job. We had him relocate an air vent that was in the center of the bedroom and install a fan for our 2 year olds room. While he was up in the attic, I asked if he could take a peek at our original air handler. He did, provided recommendations and did not charge me extra for it. Pricing was great and he had great communication.

John came out to central Phoenix to help me install a mini-split air conditioning unit I purchased from Home Depot. He came out for an initial consultation, noted some items that were required but not included in the system that I bought, and picked up those items before showing up at my house again for installation.
The former garage (current family room) is now my favorite room in the house! I highly recommend Service King if you have a/c issues or need someone with the know-how to help with A/C needs!
If you have any HVAC needs, John is definitely your man. He is reasonably priced, hard working, and very professional. I had a small job that needed fixing, and he went above and beyond to come over quickly and solve our issue. You are in good hands here.
John does way more than just AC work. I have recommended him to clients and I have used him myself. Recently we had John install a new toilet for us. Just the time savings of having him do it instead of my husband (and get it done right) was worth it.

I called John around 9:30 this am after doing several review checks on a repair guy online. My builder had Chaz Roberts do the AC installation in my new home two years ago and this was the second time in two years with the same issue, no AC upstairs in any of my bedrooms..By noon he was here as told and got right to my ac problem. He was very thorough in the repair and service! He did not hit me up with bogus repairs and unmanaged time. I will be using him again next week on another property as he was VERY reasonable with his fees as well! Thanks John! Stay Cool.

My AC went out on Sunday and I regretted having to call Chas Roberts as all of my previous experience dealing with them was painful. I searched online and found Service King then went to Yelp to read all of the positive reviews. I called John late Sunday and to my surprise, he answered the phone and scheduled for first thing Monday.
John showed up on time and very quickly diagnosed the problem. Although he had a part to make it work, he wanted to install the factory match part. He found a local distributor that had the part, drove to pick it up and installed it all in the same day. By 1:00 in the afternoon my AC was repaired!
While he was here he even checked the freon levels and inspected my upstairs AC unit. He recharged the AC for a fair price in my downstairs unit and I'm happy to report that it works great.
All in all, the service, cost and time to repair were well beyond my expectations. I highly recommend.

John came by to service my A/C on a new property I had recently purchased. He inspected my A/C system and told me it was working well and didn't require any freon or further service. John is the man. He was able to make it to my house just an hour after I called him and had my A/C fixed in about an hour. Very reasonable prices.
Planning to use him again to do some other electrical work.
I had them come out to my house in Casa Grande about a month ago. Something didn't seem right after I had my vents cleaned as i was still getting tons of dirt. I called on Friday and they sent a tech out first thing this morning to check things out. They offered to redo my whole system free of charge. This is an amazing company with great customer service. I will always use them in the future for any of my AC/Vents/ or carpet cleaning. Thank you guys for the quick response and amazing customer service. I only wish other business had such professional customer service.
I called John on a Friday night and he was able to swing by my house the very next morning. We just needed a smoke detector relocated and air filter changed. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. I'll be using his service in the future!

I called John around 9:30 am and he was at my house by 11. He was very polite and professional. He took pictures of the problem with my AC unit and was able to fix it in a couple of hours. He recommended another part be replaced but put no pressure on me if I wasn't able to afford it at that time. He was able to replace both parts and have my AC up and running like new. I will recommend him to everyone I know.

John gets 1 star for coming out in a timely manner. He gets 0 stars for initially misdiagnosing the problem, charging me $85 for it to work for 10 minutes, then coming back out and telling me it's actually a $550 problem. I asked my friend's husband who is in AC for a second opinion and he said they charge $420 for the same problem. When we asked about his price he ran off in a huff and left us with an even more broken air conditioner. Thanks for nothing!

I contacted John after reading the great reviews on Yelp. We have a rental house and our tenants notified us that the AC was acting up. John was available within 4 hours of me calling. He arrived exactly on time and was able to ensure the AC was back up and running. He also inspected the unit to ensure there were no other issues.

I've had John to my house twice, once for a tube up and once when I had a clog in the drain for my A/c. Both times he was able to come out with in a few days of me requesting an appointment. He was on time and worked quickly and explained everything he did after the service. Fair prices and great results from both services. I'll continue to use him for my A/c needs in the future.

John came out to repair my AC and discovered that I had a leak in the line and had lost all the Freon in the unit. He offered some options for repair and I chose to go with a liquid sealant through the lines, to try and repair the leak, and to refill the unit with Freon. John said this was the cheapest option but did tell me it was not guaranteed to work. The repair did not last, so we requested a quote for a new unit. At the same time I also requested quotes from 3 other companies for the exact unit. After looking over the quotes John was the highest by more than 30%. I have not complaints about the service John gave but I would be sure to compare prices for replacement parts/service when using him.
John arrived after hours, and well before the time he quoted, which was less than an hour! He efficiently and proficiently completed the job, which made us feel important to know that our A/C emergency was also his!! Very knowlegable about his work! Would recommend to anyone...reasonably priced!
Wow! John answered my call at 6:40 am on a Sunday morning after my AC went out. He was over within two hours and had it working - and only charged $100! Very nice and professional. Had a few suggestions on things to upgrade but was cautious to point out that they weren't urgent if money was tight. Absolutely recommend them!
Our air went out last night. I called him this morning about 7:30am, he answered on the 2nd ring and came out right on schedule. John did a great job, was professional and friendly and charged right on what I was expecting from previous A/C experience. He had the part in the truck and fixed it quickly. The house is already cool and I'd definitely recommend him to anyone.
The smaller unit on my house stopped working and I called around to a couple places before deciding on this. My experience has always been kind of mixed with AC places - all of the chains basically work you when it comes to everything, so I never use them. The last place I used was an enterprise place that normally won't do consumer, but they did it as a kind of perk for their customers. So, off to Yelp and found Service King. I was able to schedule him to come quickly, he showed up on time and was out working on the unit - it turned out to be a capacitor, which he had a replacement for. He also checked out the larger unit for me since he was already here, and I felt his prices were good. He's definitely going to by my first call when I have any issues like this in the future.

I have found my new handyman! After reading positive reviews on YELP I called John to see if he was available to take a look at my list of projects. He came out within a day or two of my call and was able to handle everything on my list which included- replacing the fascia on my porch before house painting; rebuilding my brick flower box; fixing my sprinkler system; replacing kitchen faucets and lots of other small projects. John always came up with the most cost effective way to resolve a problem, arrived on time and completed each task successfully! it's a great relief to know that when I have work to be done, I know someone who knows how to do many things well. He will tell you if there is a job that he isn't comfortable with but he is so versatile I didn't experience that. yay John! I am compiling a new list :)
Amazingly quick, knowledgable and personable. Highly recommend. Came within an hour late in the day and made sure my family was not without AC on a particularly hot , 105 degrees, September day. Payment was fair. It is nice to have someone that cares as much about his work as I do. Definitely will use again.
After calling two other companies that had great Yelp ratings and never receiving a call back, I decided to try a 3rd company. John immediately answered the phone and after discussing what was going on, he asked that I try one more thing. When that didn't work I called him back the next day (he answered again) and he got me scheduled immediately. He communicated through text after the time was set and showed up on time. He was in and out in about 30 minutes and did a thorough check on the other AC unit for me.
I called John for the second time. The problem this time was a bad blower fan. After his repair, the unit is running great. Everything about his service is great. He diagnosed the problem, and replaced the part that was required, no more. His charge was less than I expected. Thanks, John.
I just had John at our place to do some repair work and service our system. John is as honest as the day is long. I had a leak in the attic and was a bit stressed. My A/C failed and I needed someone to come quickly to fix it. I called a couple of companies I used previously, but their calendars were booked. John came the same day and fixed the AC. He assessed the problem quickly and we were satisfied with his solution. He fixed it quickly and within his estimate. I will be using him in the future.

Had John come over to the house based on his reviews on Yelp. Came over as requested and wasn't on time, but I understand that some jobs can take longer than expected, so didnt matter to me since I was already home anyways. I had 2 issues that needed to be handled, one was a flourescnt light fixture fix and the other was definitely more difficult process with a motor issue in my outside bbq hood. Basically the motor needed to be replaced completely and John took the specs down and measured out the process, etc. He came over a few days later and fixed the light which was a bit more expensive than i would have liked to see. Could have just bought a new light for that price and would have been nice to know that before hand. We paid him for that with no complaints hoping that the issue with hood would get fixed. John left that day and never contacted us again. I get it, its a tough project. Just let us know you can;t do it and we will move on to the next. If we were jerks for customers, that would make more sense to never contact us again and not deal with us. But we never complained or questioned anything, just never heard back on what we needed fixed.
John is a rare breed. He's honest, proficient, and NOT driven by the idea that you can make alot of money in Arizona in the AC repair business by scaring people into making costly repairs. I hired John because I needed a second opinion on another repair guy, who really felt bad about the fact that I absolutely needed to do $1600 worth of work, or else face the wrath of a blown unit in 2-3 months. John did a comprehensive exam and checked everything out, only to find that my two A/C units were totally fine, minus one small optional tweak that would cost me $50, if I chose to even fix it. Rather than throw the other repair guy under the bus, John took the classy route of explaining that the guy was likely commission-based, or possibly using gauges that were broken. But we all know. The other repairman was trying to take me to the cleaners! John is the real deal and I am committed to helping others like myself from being taken advantage of.
