ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER

Hi, I’m Richard Hart! I’ve been a professional residential and commercial plumber for over 20 years, and have specialized in underground utilities. I was one of the first people to be certified for Cure-In-Place-Pipe (CIPP) installation and has been involved with pipe bursting since its inception to the market.

While I was working for other companies I was shocked at the lack of respect and concern for homeowners. It was then that I decided to strike out on my own to develop an environment where other caring individuals could come together to provide the highest quality service and workmanship for the community. In addition, to provide our employees a great place to work,
where they feel valued every day. That is why when we say WE CARE MORE, we mean just that. Our whole foundation of business is you, your home and your family. We are looking forward to serving you!

Incredible company to work with. Our old house had some sewage leakage issues, and Harts was one of companies we reached out to (and ultimately the one we worked with).

The first company charged $700 for inspection alone, where as Harts didn't charge for inspection and quotation. I got an impression that Harts is a company that makes money on the quality of the actual project, rather than trying to make little money here and there.

Throughout the whole quotation process and the actual work, they were very transparent about what the issues are, options of work they think are appropriate, and the pricing. They took photos and videos of issues and what needs to be done.

We knew that it's not gonna be a cheap fix, so we had to get a loan. They were very patient with our effort to get a loan from the bank.

There was a little hiccup in the process - they weren't able to get the materials on time from the distributor. This was a little annoying, but it's out of their control. What was really pleasant, though, is that they were on top of communication in terms of when they think they will get the material. As soon as they had some idea, they called us for potential schedule for the work.

It's painful to us financially that we had to spend a ton of money on our project that we don't know a ton about, but we are relieved to work with Harts.

Our tech: mostly great. Company policies: not so much.

I'm helping my mother address a couple decades worth of deferred maintenance on her house, and plumbing was one of them. I don't recall where I'd heart of Harts, but they came highly recommended.

The technician came ahead of schedule (and called to warn us!), uniformed (always confidence inspiring), in a well-stocked van. I was present for the service call, and since I work in a building-related field, we chatted about the industry and how in the residential field often a lot of corners get cut to get lowest bids, or how one ill-planned project can cause problems elsewhere. He warned us they weren't the cheapest, but made effort to be comprehensive. He was also honest enough to tell me the faucet issue was a simple DIY job I could complete in about 20 minutes and $20 of parts that I'd overlooked, but drew up an estimate for a few options for completeness' sake. I was impressed, if not the price (it *was* high), but for explaining the various options and the implications for future projects.

And that's where it ended. He was very enthusiastic about the company's complimentary 'whole house inspection' policy, which we were neither aware of nor prepared for. But before we could protest, he was suited up and headed into the crawlspace taking inventory of everything. Again, I appreciate the holistic plumbing philosophy, but this was a relatively urgent repair that turned into a several-hour visit with half a dozen estimates for less-urgent issues. Yes, we need a shower repair, and a softener decommissioned, and other things, but we're aware of this, and we just needed the faucet fixed.

Second red flag: the estimate fine-print said the homeowner is responsible for all permits. In my line of work, that's 100% never the case. This repair wouldn't need any, but I'm concerned this was even included on the page.

After he went on his way, the calls came. And the emails. Within the hour of him pulling out of the drive. These were regarding their annual service plan--form emails with $0 invoices, but invoices nonetheless, and written as if it was already agreed upon and just needed a signature. This was never mentioned in the visit, and it really alarmed my mother that she owed money, and the company weren't taking no for an answer. It's been a few weeks, and the calls still come every few days. Not even for completing the work--just for joining the service plan.

They were also very pushy about installing a company banner in the yard for a chance to win...something, I'm not sure what. I've seen contractors (roofing, etc) put up yard signs for the duration of a project but not insist on one indefinitely for some contest. It really smacked as predatory. I was impressed with the technician's expertise and enthusiasm, but for a simple estimate it turned into a whole ordeal akin to leaving an MLM. I won't be recommending them.

As many say, if I could give zero stars I would. I do not recommend working with this company. I called them to request a quote. I saw on Angi's List there were one of the top three recommendations. I got a call right away to get more information about my issues. I spoke to Lashawn. Very helpful. She stated they do not do window times. Instead, a coordinator would call us the day of to keep us up to date on the technician's whereabouts and would give us a call 30 minutes prior to arrival. I said that's great as I'll be at work and my fiancé will be transporting our daughter back and forth to school. I also gave them my fiancé as a point of contact as I will be with patients all day and may not get to my phone to relay any messages. They were scheduled to come out the next day.

This did not happen. We got a text the day I received a call back confirming our appointment and said our technician Justice would be there between 8am-9am. The morning of I get a text saying our technician is on the way at 8:35am (somewhere around that time). I called them immediately bc I knew my fiancé would be in route taking our daughter to school. I expressed concerns that one they were contacting me and not my fiancé and two we were explicitly told no windows and now someone is headed to our home with no one there. The person apologized stated they would ensure the technician had my fiancés number and not to worry.

About 30 minutes later my fiancé texts me to tell me the technician left said what needed to be done but because he didn't have everything her needed to provide a quote, someone would be sending one over later that day.

Two days go by. I'm checking my email and junk folders nothing. My fiancé calls them, is told Justice will give us a call back. Nothing. A week goes by. I reach out to them. Tell them so far I'm very disappointed in the service as no one has contacted us about the quote or to schedule repairs. I'm told our expert technician will call us.

It's been almost three weeks and we have received absolutely no communication for our expert technician Justice or the company themselves regarding our repairs. I would never recommend nor will I continue to do business with them now or in the future.

We called them on the 3rd of July, the tech that came out was very nice... have absolutely no complaints about him, or the job he did. He was at our house 1 1/2 hours, for a job that required minimal digging, and the bill was $1500. If it wasn't a holiday weekend and we had no idea how long the leak had been going on... it was 3pm the day before a holiday... they totally took advantage of a situation. I would not recommend them to anyone!

Over the past couple years, Hart's has proven to us, over and over, that they are simply the BEST in the biz. I haven't had one negative interaction, and wouldn't be able to find something unsatisfactory, even if I tried. Every single tech has been so incredibly professional and kind. When they have to enter my home, they take extra steps to ensure that I feel secure and comfortable. Every phone conversation, they have me smiling because of their kindness and professionalism. I've never once had to leave a voicemail, or had to wait for someone to call me back. They even send out hand-written thank you cards from time to time. You get the big city services with the small town friendly feeling. We will be their customer for life because of their flawless work quality, professionalism, and fantastic customer service. Thank you, Hart's!

I am a 66 year old woman living by myself in Seattle. My house is old and I discovered water in the basement. A friend recomended Hart Services. I call them and a tech came to diagnose the problem. His name was Josh. The problem was an old sewer line that was leaking. He told me it would be $4000-$8000 to fix depending how much needed replacing. Josh came the next day and replaced a section of pipe. The charge was over $4600. As he was at my house less than a day that seemed high. When I called the office to get an invoice that shows parts and labor they could not help me and said I would have to speak with Josh and they would have him call me. That was 5 days ago and no call. I feel that this is a case of a vulnerable Senior Citizen being taken advantage of. How can a bill be over $4600 for less that 8 hours work. Shame on you Harts/Josh!

**consumer beware**
**predatory company**

My elderly veteran aunt needed some plumbing done. This was the first company she came across.
They were prompt in coming by to inspect. They offered easy financing through their company..
They quoted my aunt 55k for the repairs. Yikes!
What they dont tell you is their work will cost 4-6x more than another plumber would do it for. They will pressure you into a sale contract, pull permits, and penalize you 2500$ if you cancel their work (fine print from the contract)

We got 2 other plumbers to come check out the problem. We were quoted 10k or less! That is a massive difference of over 40k!

This company should be ashamed for trying to take advantage of people in desperation.
What a disgusting business

Do your research before hiring them. Check out better business bureau and the amount of complaints they already have. I am dumbfounded how they have so many positive google reviews for sure should have went back and reread the negative ones that are more accurate and relatable.
They are outrageously priced, the job was not done well, plumber was leaving after it was done and husband noticed it was still leaking luckily he came back. It was not perfect and were going to come back between 12-4 and never showed and never called.  If you do go with them get the quote and pay the price for the estimate and get a another opinion. Learn from our mistake. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Excellent work, fast response, and extremely expensive. If money is not a concern and/or it's an emergency and you don't have a trusted plumber that can do the work, they are a good choice. If you have time to shop, definitely get multiple bids and you'll find someone who can do good work for less. Needed emergency service to replace an old wall hung toilet with a new floor mount toilet. The work took 2 plumbers 4 hours $9,800. They don't charge by time/materials, just a flat estimate. Their staff and estimator/sales people heavily push a discount retainer program that would lock you into expensive plumbing service. Definitely recommend avoiding that unless money is no object for you.

On the phone I was told we would get a full evaluation for $75. I wasn't home when the plumber arrived. He told my husband it would be $350 for him to do anything. That's a big difference.  But my husband felt pressured by the possible toilet leak.  Turns out there was nothing wrong with our toilet. The plumber replaced the wax ring (which was only one year old). The toilet rocked for awhile afterward, but it's fine now.
Classic up-sale. I'd rather pay $75 for them to tell me everything was fine.

Two separate appointments on two separate days were cancelled last minute... at the end of the day.

So if you have a plumbing issue and need it to not be solved? I'd still recommend going elsewhere. Waste my &!*% time....

This is feedback about the price not our technicians, they were all very pleasant. We had a backed-up main drain that they tried to clear out with their pressure hose. It didn't work so they needed to dig a hole in our yard (wrong spot so I dug the second hole) and then cut into our patio to dig another hole to scope the line. The patio patching looks horrible and the tech who did it said he had never done the type with pebbles on it so he watched a YouTube video before he did it. They kept saying it was a collapsed line (tuns out it wasn't, it was just a nasty clog) and their tools couldn't get to it. Then they said it was a boulder that was blocking the line (that was not correct either).

When all was done, I paid ~$14k for them to clear my line and put in two spots to clear it in the future. I called and was told they have one touch pricing and for any work onsite it is that amount. This included the 10+ hours of digging holes (at $750/hr). Total rip off and I will never ues them again. When I talked the supervisor all I got was how they needed to make a 10% profit and their one touch pricing includes all the work. Then a customer service rep followed up with me and I gave her the same story and she said she would have someone higher up call me in a day, that was two weeks ago.

Take a look at all of the recent BBB reviews (Harts Services | Reviews | Better Business Bureau® Profile (bbb.org)) they are all similar on price gouging.

DO NOT USE Harts Plumbing in Tacoma unless you are willing to sell a kidney to pay for the work.

I'm leaving this review not as a customer. Long-ish story: while on a road trip from the Portland area North, one of the service trucks from Hart's was passing in the left lane on the freeway, and was towing a trailer that was shedding some kind of hard debris (rocks? Chunks of asphalt? I don't know). As it passed I could see bits flying off as we crossed over all the ruts and bumps and cracks in the pavement of I-5. So much of it was hitting my car in the next lane over that it woke my friend up in the passenger seat. Is that hail?

Me: no Chelsea, that truck is dumping crap all over the freeway.

Hearing more and more snaps and cracks and pops while I was trying to move further to the right, I saw it was too late. My windshield had a really big chip in it, and a crack spider-webbing out to the edge and starting on its way into my sightline on the driver's side.

I saw that the truck was merging to the right ahead of the car ahead of my own, and continued across to the right lane. A space opened up to my right so I told my friend to get ready to get the license number. I ended up pulling off the freeway at the next exit to follow the truck and make sure we got clear photos of it.

I wasn't sure what to do next (I mean, I could have run the truck off the road, but that seemed like a two wrongs don't make a right scenario - plus we're in the middle of a pandemic), and since we were running late to meet the friends we were planning on getting dinner with, I figured with the license plate number and description of the vehicle along with the time and location, that should be good enough for my insurance to figure out the situation. So, we followed the GPS to get back to the freeway.

After we got checked into the hotel, I texted my insurance agent to find out what my next steps were and he basically told me good luck since I don't have a dashcam to prove my side of the story. I called the claims line for my insurance to ask what would happen if I had the information about the vehicle that did this, and they told me that it would most definitely impact my rates even if the company paid them back for the repair and I'd be out my deductible until/if they did.

I decided to take a chance. I looked up Hart's online and called them about it. After speaking with someone that told me they'd pass my info on to her supervisor, I hung up thinking I'd never hear from them again. But the very next day, Steve called me to discuss the situation, and asked that I give him another day for him to review internally what to do. And right on time the day after, he called to let me know that I should just take it in to be repaired, and they'd call in a payment directly to the repair shop once it was done.

This made the whole situation such an easy fix! In fact, when I'd taken the car in, Steve called the dealer a couple times to try to make a payment before they were ready for it.

I can't say enough how much I appreciate the honesty and help in getting my windshield replaced (somehow through all the dings and pops, I didn't find any other damage to my car). If this is a reflection on the quality and service provided with their contract work, they'll be my first call when I need something done around my house!

Don't do it!

I used Harts several years ago to replace a side sewer line. I guess the work was okay, but they left a cleanout sticking up in the middle of my yard (not to mention the hole they filled has sunk over a foot). I've lived with it, but finally decided I needed the cleanout lowered below ground level. At the same time I was going to have an outdoor silcock/faucet/hose bibb replaced. See pictures of both. I also asked for a price on installing an additional outdoor faucet 18' away.

I'm certified in Facilities Management, so I'm definitely qualified to make this assessment. This is a two hour job- max. The expert they sent out agreed with me on this.

Long story short, after they cancelled my appointment yesterday, they showed up today. The bid they gave me for a two hour job was over $1,300! When I asked what their hourly rate was the expert couldn't tell me. He felt badly as he knew this was a complete ripoff for a two hour job. Kudos to Ron. He was very professional and I could tell he was embarrassed. And part of this price was to correct their original work!

Needless to say I did not have them perform the work. Last time I call these guys.

The worst part is I just wanted the job done. Give me an hourly rate and do the work. But, this was shifty as hell. $600 per hour?
I'd definitely look elsewhere if I were you.

2-2.5 more expensive compared to other reputable companies with zero added value.
Had my water heater replacement quote. And quote came back 2-2.5 times higher compared to other reputable quotes I had. And by the way others did estimate for free harts services did for $40(and they sounded like it's a deal). The thing that blew my mind was that they wanted $600 for permit while others asking only $110. And after they call to check if I want to get it installed I told person calling me that it was waaaay to expensive and she told me yes we are expensive bye :)

Installed new water line on my house. Charged 7,800. (This was extremely high and should have been half that price) They then Buried my sewer access hole when filling in the new line they installed.
Upon Harts next visit to un-plug my sewer line. They charged me to pull my toilet $100 and charged me $100 to find my sewer access. The reason for pulling the toilet was because he could not find the access.
After showing the blockage of roots which was 1 inch from dumping into the sewer. He told me I needed to replace the whole line and would cost $27,000-33,000. I paid for a second opinion from Conan's drain cleaning LLC. They came out, cleared the line and found a gas line was installed thru my sewer which created the blockage, told me the city would pay for it and refund my money for his visit. I asked what the whole line would have cost for a replacement without telling them the other quote and was told $4,500. (I live in Lincoln heights and these houses are all the same and basic straight lines to the road).

I notice I had a drainage problem with my plumbing system throughout the house . So I called Harts Services ( they just expanded their plumbing services to the Snohomish County area) they sent Jason Lunda & David Pope to service my home. Let me tell you , I have been in Service Business for over 20 yrs.
These gentlemen gave me one of the best customer service I have EVER had.
That old myth about  plumbers are not true ! They clear out my plumbing system, they went over what I need to replace , where to find it , installment programs, prevent services and how to save money, yes how to save money!
Their workmanship was second to none.
They gave me awesome customer service. So if you need your plumbing system worked on call these guys at Harts Services you won't be disappointed . Thank you Harts Services
for a excellent job ,well done.

Hot water heater went out. Amazingly they were able to come out that day. He quoted us 14,000 for a new water  heater and he could do it tomorrow,  or 1600 for a repair but the part wouldn't be available for 6 weeks he said plus he said our heater was gonna go out anyways. Luckily the next day we got a second opinion. This new guy was able to fix it in 10 mins and no new additional parts!!!  Im not sure if the technician harts sent was trying to take advantage of us because we are women or he is just bad at his job... stay away from them...  i feel so bad for other women and seniors they probably scare into paying 1000s of dollars like they tried to do to us.

Hart's Services replaced my kitchen faucet.  I provided the faucet with new supply lines.  The installation took approximately 1.5 hours.

The Good: The service technician was knowledgeable and thoughtful.  The faucet replacement was done well.  Hart's online appointment feature was easy to use and text messages verified the appointment.

The Bad:  Upon arrival, the technician quickly tried to upsell me with additional services and requested to see my water heater.   My appointment request was simple and explicit: I did not need nor request additional services.

The Ugly: The price was 4x what I expected.  The labor-only service, before tax, was $747, or approximately $500/hr.  Absurd.  That is certainly a deal-breaker for me and will preclude me from using Harts again.

Sarah came today for my annual check-up...she was a delight!  When I asked her questions about my problem faucet, she went under the house and took pictures of the pipes in the area and showed me what had happened that caused the cold faucet to leak.  Sarah was very good at checking all the areas and if there was a problem, she explained what might be a solution.  I think Sarah is an excellent employee of Harts Services.

I am convinced that this is a very dishonest company that encourages their plumbers to charge fees based on what they perceive that they can get away with. I have had three separate experiences with Harts. Each time the problem was exactly the same: plugged main drain between the house and the street. First time problem solved with around $600 for snaking the drain. Two years later same issue $500 to get the drain flowing. Both times the plumber was there less than an hour. Third time was only a week after the second visit. The drain had plugged again. This time the guy that showed up said it would cost $700!  I paid it; but again, for about an hour of their time. I ended up hiring another company a few weeks later to permanently repair the line.
Last week a friend told me they hired Harts when the drain plugged in their clinic. They reported that the plumber removed the toilet, snaked the drain, got it flowing and charged them $1700! The best part is he refused to reinstall the toilet because he said there were foundation issues and it was against company policy to reinstall the toilet. They wanted some crazy amount to go any further. My friend had to get another company to place the toilet back in place. During this process they discovered that the Harts Tech had broken the stud bolt off the slab while he had removed the toilet the first time. It was a mess.
So if you are going to hire Harts Services you better just hand them your wallet and get it over with.

15 minutes to replace the faucet in our tub because it required a certain tool. We provided the new faucet. Over $350. When I asked about it he said that he could take off $75 if we screw on the faucet panel. Faucet started dripping less than a year later. Then they offered an Amazon gift card for a five star review.

I hired Hart to go to a rental home and remove a garbage disposal.  The plumber arrived and quoted me a price of almost $800.00 to remove a garbage disposal and  replace about $30.00 worth of replacement pipes.  The costs to remove the old disposal and install a new one was $11.00 higher.

I had a renter demanding the use of her sink so I felt I was forced to pay the outrageous price.

I have contacted Harts 2 times hoping to get some reduction in the bill amount. I have never received even a call back. A normal plumber charges about $300.00 a hour.  This job took less than 1 hour.  I feel totally ripped off.

It appears to me that Harts has a heart for their pocket book and surely not the customers they service.

To say the least, I will never use or recommend Hart Plumbing to anyone.

Promised to send an email confirmation with the worker's info so I could confirm who they were when they showed up but never did that, told me they couldn't give an approximate time of arrival so I said I would be at home all day, then they called while my phone was charging and I didn't immediately pick up so they cancelled the appointment.
Now I wasted a day off work for nothing, and they couldn't even tell me when they might reschedule the appointment.  Not sure how they have any decent reveiws with communication and service like this.

I don't do too many reviews but I wanted to make sure anyone going through the same situation I had might appreciate this. There are some bad reviews on here regarding their services and specialists but my overall experience was far from that. Those reviews almost turned me away but I had an emergency on my hand and they were able to schedule a technician immediately for me since they considered my situation an emergency. The team helped answer a lot of my questions regarding the reviews and the urgency of my situation.

A few days ago, our water heater decided that we no longer needed hot water. I consider myself pretty handy and would usually try to fix things myself so I started doing my research and came to the conclusion that I should leave this to the experts. Since this is a gas powered water heater, there was a lot of risks.

The technician that came out was Konnor S. He was very knowledgeable on the water heater situation and gave me several options on how we can resolve this and the pros/cons of each option. These guys are not paid commissions so he did not try to sell me a product I did not need (which was one of my fears).  He also gave me some options on upgrading our system since I had specifically asked for a tankless system. He walked me through the financing options and also recommended some things to look out for to help save me money.

Konnor also helped me with a maintenance plan and also how I can help myself out with getting more life out of my water tank. Overall experience was great and I am really happy that I get to have hot water once more. Harts team is amazing and I am really would recommend to anyone with a plumbing issues. Thanks Konnor!

Just wanted to provide an update on my situation.  I was contacted by Harts Services later the same day and received an apology.  I was told that some plumbers DO charge tenant/landlord properties as commercial, but their company as whole do not, so there was a mix up there.  I was refunded my initial charge, and for that I have updated my review from 1-star to 3 -star for receiving good customer service.

If I do use them in the future, I would make sure to double check costs up front and get the name for whoever you're talking to.

=============================================================

This company is NOT honest.  Called into the company explaining that I was a landlord and my tenant was having issues with the dishwasher.  Explained that I didn't know if it was a clogged drain or the dishwasher.  After hearing all this, Hart services said I was eligible for their $93 or it's free where they would come take a look, and if they didn't fix the issue, they would recommend a solution and it'd be FREE.  I doubled checked with the lady to make sure that if it was a dishwasher issue, it'd be FREE because I wasn't sure what the problem was and she said YES, so I proceeded with the service.

It did end up being the dishwasher being broken and ended up getting charged around $80!!  Obviously, I was surprised at being charged.  Called in, and was given several excuses of why I was charged.

1. It was a commercial property -- it was not.
2. It wasn't a drain issue -- I obviously didn't know this prior to calling and even told them this!!

BEWARE of this company!  If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Lesson learned to never call these guys again.

Their costs are exorbitant. Other service providers are able to do the same job for half the price.

FLASHY WEBSITE. PLEASANT PHONE INTERACTION.

BUT ... WHOA ... TAKE HEED ... STOP before you consider hiring Harts Services for plumbing!!!

I seldom write reviews. But this ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH QUOTE got my blood boiling  !!!

THEY MAY BE GOOD PLUMBERS, BUT BEWARE OF UNABASHED CON JOB PRICING.

Expecting job to be done same scheduled day, was told it would have to be rescheduled for another day since visit was for quote only. This was NOT explained when I made the appt.

I needed about 20 ft of natural gas pipe from the side of my home to reach a deck heater. Better yet, piping would be placed around the perimeter (thus now maybe 25 ft of pipe). So no need to remove deck planks. Easy right?
QUOTE:
- gas company permit included
- 2 days of labor for team. What?!
- $6,600
- I was more than shocked. Angry at bold rip-off attempt.

Chris (owner?) called the next day. Told him about the bombshell experience. Was extremely disappointment with SWINDLE, FLEECE-JOB QUOTE. Was going to ask how much they charged per hour ... how long it would take to lay 25 ft of gas pipe around a deck perimeter ... and why would it take a team to get this job done over TWO DAYS! Decided to not get into it. The pen is mightier than the sword.

Chris then he had the unmitigated gall to ask if I'd consider them for another job in the future! Told him not to sit by the phone waiting for my call. NEVER, EVER would I consider them again.

My husband had them out on an emergency call and was very impressed.  Spoke highly of them to me as I was out of town.  I decided to see for myself with another issue we were having since I'm usually the one that takes care of these things. I paid for a sales pitch and the issue didn't even get fixed. I will now call another company ( I use) to fix the problem. RIDICULOUS!!! I knew from the beginning this person wouldn't fix it (he seemed more interested in selling a complete bath renovation instead of fixing the problem) and tell me it would be money going down the drain. It is my money not his. Took him 30 min to write up a quote!!  I told my husband at least the company I use fixes our problem even if I pay more and not waste my time.
Also, not putting things back the way it was after taking it apart.  Going down (crawl space) to look at our pipes and taking the fiberglass insulation away from the floor boards and not placing it back to taking the insulation off the pipe and leaving it off. Imagine if it was a senior citizen home!!! Pure laziness!!
Taking a water sample and telling me I have iron in my water and what did that have to do with a water drip that I called to have fixed?  I have a chemist friend that can test my water for me.
Once again. Problem still there. Never again will I bother with them.  Will not get our future business nor will I in good faith recommend this place to my friends and clients after this type of service.
Decided to write  a review because I was suppose to receive a follow up call and didn't receive a call back.

Sadly I paid them $515 to install a customer supplied garbage disposal and that's just because it was a simple install not a major adjustment, that would have cost more. They did give a $50 discount only because they rescheduled on me after I wasted 2/3rds of my day waiting close by home for them. Plumber also gave an estimate to put a cold water line to our fridge which is no more than 8ft from the sink, that would be $3,000. Also, since it was a first visit the did a full plumbing inspection which was told we need to replace all of our plumbing for the house which includes two bathrooms, a kitchen and two hose hookups on the exterior plus our water heater is over 10 years old so that's gotta go too. The quote for all of that plus the fridge line was $28,000 and they would not be responsible for any damage to our drywall they'd have to remove to install said plumbing. The best/worst part is after all these ridiculous price estimates the plumber asked if we would be okay to put their sign in our yard to advertise for 3 months and we, as well as him, could possibly win $100. Harts does care more .... about taking your money.

If I was able to give this business a negative star I would. Before having my bathroom remoded I had harts come out and camera and check lines. I was told everything was good. When the bathroom was finished and they went to connect the bath tub we found out it never actually was. It cost us alot more money. I had to rip out a wall on new construction. I contacted harts and not only did they not resolve this issue but I wasn't refunded for the check which obviously wasn't done correct. Horrible customer service and full of lies! I've been waiting for 4 months for a resolution

I'd like to be able to rate this business but after having an appointment for well over a week, they called this morning and said oh, we are short staffed and can't get out until next week.  Now I ask the Yelp community, if you've had an appointment for that long, shouldn't you be one of the ones who gets the service first.  We just had a small job, apparently there were not enough dollars involved.  We called another plumber recommended on Yelp and they can come out Friday, do this job and give us an estimate on another one.

BEWARE THE $93 SCAM!
They sent someone out to check my plumbing  stoppage and the guy stuck his camera down the pipe and found it. He immediately said based on what he saw, we would have to spend $10,000 to fix it. Then he just left.

Skeptical, I called another company.
New company said it would be $500. Since it was a better than $10K, I went with them. They couldn't get their camera to work so they just shoved their power snake down and just unclogged it. Done! Would this company have tried to scam me too if their camera had been working? I don't know.
So, BEWARE THE CAMERA too. If it looks bad, they could possibly just decide you need to spend a lot of money without actually trying to fix it like the old days.
THE BAD REVIEW IS FOR HARTS IS BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO SCAM ME OUT OF A LOT OF MONEY WITHOUT ATTEMPTING TO BE A GOOD COMPANY AND PROVIDE AN HONEST SERVICE.

Disclosure: the next day the new company came out with a camera and found the issue: roots. Said they would remove the roots via a power flush but after they install an access port outside the house. Finally they would install a liner inside pipe. Total charge would be $12K. (a larger amount but I think I'd trust this 2nd company).

2 Stars for communication and timeliness. 3 stars docked for an absolutely absurd price and upsell.

Harts was responsive and professional, with an exceptionally friendly phone representative booking my appointment and guaranteeing me a first stop of the day slot, with my plumber arriving between 8-9am.

I received a text at 7 that morning saying the tech was on his way, but then received a call at 7:40 to tell me that the tech was getting ready to head over, and to expect him between 8-830.

Scott arrived right on time, was friendly and got right down to business.
My issue was pretty simple: two faucets had become disconnected from the counter, and the hot water handles required a lot of pressure to close all the way (not because they were stiff -- the cartridge inside just wouldn't seal). I'd taken them apart and fixed them a few times but it kept happening so I sought a professional opinion.

I knew I was in for a ride when he asked if I wanted him to fix the problem now or fix the problem long-term. He instantly started praising the service of some other faucet brand and then criticized the service of the manufacturers of my faucets, but he didn't seem to know who the manufacturer was. It sounded a little rehearsed so I suspected a commission sale.

He then tapped away at an iPad for about 3 minutes in silence before presenting me with a few options.

The cheapest option, just replacing the existing cartridge, cost over $700.
Replacing the entire faucet with a different brand would cost over $1000.

I thanked him for his time and sent him away.

Right before Christmas we found water on our carpet resulting from a leak in our wall. We had already opened the wall and located a small pinhole leak. The tech that came out provided us two options. Repipe our entire house for $20k (so not necessary- does this tactic ever work?) or for $1100 he'd remove the bad pipe and replace it. This seemed outrageous for such a minor issue, and not within our budget with the holidays and pandemic so we sent him on his way.  Not to mention you have to pay a fee just to get a quote.
I reached out to a friend who does contractor work along with some knowledgeable family to determine if this was a standard rate for the job. Let me assure you, it absolutely is not.

We contacted another local plumber, known for great customer service and explained the situation. They too agreed this quote was very high. The actual job cost us under $400 with the other company.

We will never contact Hart's again. We felt like they were ripping us off the moment the guy asked if we wanted to repipe our entire house. I wouldn't recommend them at all.  It's unfortunate zero stars isn't an option.

On Wed Aug 24th, 2022 I found out our water heater leaked. I contacted my home warranty company (Fidelity) and got a plumber here the same day (other company). They said my water heater was broken, but it was still under manufacture warranty. I contacted AO Smith that night to start the warranty claim, I got a claim number and was told by AO Smith I had to have a new water heater delivered by a authorized retailer, which was Harts Services.
I contacted Harts the next day and let them know per AO Smith my water heater was under warranty and that I needed a new one delivered, got a warranty claim number from AO Smith.
Harts came out the next day, the guy told me there would be around a $80 charge for him to contact AO Smith and let them know of his findings and to start the warranty. I was VERY confused because I already explained to him that I had a claim number from AO Smith already.
He kept thinking he was installing the new water heater and could not understand all he is doing to delivering the new water heater.
I asked him how much it would even be to have the water heater installed by him and he quoted me over $2000! I let him know, no thank you and that per Fidelity I had to go through a different company to help cover the cost of install.
He told me I would have to submit the claim to AO Smith and that it wasn't Harts job to do so. He changed me almost $1300 for just the water heater.
I contacted AO Smith to finish the warranty and they told me Harts should have done the claim (which they would have done if they started the warranty).
Come to find out Harts WAY over charged me for a warrantied item. AO Smith said they should have only charged me $385 which is the price of the water heater since it was under warranty.
Spoke to Chris manager on Friday the 26th at Harts and said he would call me on the 29th, never heard from him. Contacted Harts the next day and he was out sick. He called me on 31st to let me know he can bring the cost down to about $800

Great inspection by Cameron. He checked the plumbing without cutting open the ceiling for approx. $600.00 cost. He determined it was the roof that caused the water leak and referred it to a roofer instead.

Complete scammer BS and they're getting a bad reputation through next door neighbor app as well telling every customer they need a 15k repipe even for the slightest bit of a problem. It really makes me not trust them as a costumer. My dad is a Plumber and I've seen how they scam people. The guy putting in my new toilet I overheard him get off the phone from someone higher up at his company and then complain to his coworker that I'm not a salesman since I said heck no to that 15k BS .. so the people running the company are forcing their workers to SELL the repipe instead of doing Honest work for people who really need their service.

Horrible. Literally was told the next availability was the Feb 14th. Scheduled a week in advance and now they're pushing out date back because no one can make it. Why schedule me that day then? You tell me 15 mins before 5pm that you can't do it. Unprofessional and I feel they were very bias on who they chose to see.

I am truly amazed at the generosity of people when times are tough.

We went down to our basement this morning to find sewage backed up in our system. Of course it always happens on a holiday weekend. We called Harts Services and although they were working today, they did not have anyone available until Monday at the earliest.

They recommended Pricor Technologies who when I reached out, was able to send someone out from Seattle within an hour. It turned out to be a much larger job than a simple snake job to get the water flowing.

When we were unable to finance the entire portion, Sean from Pricor reached out to the owner of Harts, and they are helping us to finance, and Pricor is starting today! I feel so blessed that these companies are helping us out.

I have to recommend Harts Services for their generosity and availability, and Pricor Technologies for their timeliness and wonderful service on a holiday weekend. Please use either of these companies if you need sewer repair or emergency plumbing services.

I called Harts to replace a kitchen faucet.  I was given an appointment 12 days out (on a Wed) and was told they would contact me by 10AM on the day of the appointment with their arrival time.  After not hearing from them, I called at 11AM and Harts told me they would contact me after lunch as to when they would arrive.  They called back at 3PM and said they would call when they were 30 minutes out.  At 4PM Harts called and said due to a job going overtime they would not be able to make it that day.

I asked if they would be out first thing Thursday (the next day) to do the work and I was told that that's not how they do their scheduling.  Harts said that they would let me know when they had an open time, probably the next week.  Basically I was put on standby, needing to be available for when one of their plumbers had a free time.  They never re-scheduled the job, just wait for our call.  All of this for a simple 1 hour job.

I called Scottco Plumbing and Scott came out the next morning and completed the work.

Beware!!! If you plan on having insurance pay for it, then look elsewhere. Harts does NOT provide itemized invoices for you and your insurance company wants it. Our job ended up costing $21000, and after several months of asking Harts for an itemized receipt, we just gave up. They only gave us a paper that said labor and materials. They never broke down what we were paying for. Our insurance paid out $6800. We will never use their service again.

Why do you send people who take the time to review Harts Services with a canned answer from your Business Manager, Rachelle A. That shows me you didn't follow up to see what occurred, and why the review was negative. It's as if you're taking a second opportunity to dismiss the customer.

I have a rental house that has a tankless water heater. I was not familiar with this type of water heater, so I wanted to get someone to get it working so my tenant could have hot water and heat (radiant heat).  I have owned the property for just over a year.

I called one company and they could not get out there for a week. I called Hart's Services and they said that they could come out and look at it later that day. They called me back and set a time to meet them over there. The guys who came out were pleasant to deal with and seemed competent. I appreciated them coming out the same day.

They said the natural gas tankless heater needed to be flushed and he hoped that would get it working again, because otherwise the unit was likely at the end of it's life. The unit is made by Rheem and I later looked up the unit, which had a 12 year warranty on the coils.  It has been in service for 10.5 years, so looking back that seems like a poor assumption. He quoted me over $1000 to service the unit. That seemed ridiculous, but then he suggested I sign up for their yearly maintenance plan for $1.00 that day and $9.99 per month.  Then there would be no other charge. If they could get it working, I figured someone would need to service it yearly anyway and $120/year was reasonable for that, so I said OK.

While they were there, I also showed him a toilet that was leaking on the floor a bit. They inspected the toilet and said it was likely the wax seal and they would need to pull the toilet and reset it. He said that the 10 year old toilet seals might have a problem and because this was an off-brand toilet it might be hard to get parts. We tried to look up the unit on the web and could not find it. It seemed like parts would not be easy to find.

They suggested replacing the toilet, and since there was a Home Depot nearby, I suggested that while they work on the heater flush, I would go pick up a toilet. I spent about $180 on a Kohler toilet and took it back to the house. Meanwhile they flushed the heater. They quoted me $480 to change out the toilet, which seemed high, but he said that would be the total cost, plus the $1 for the initial membership.  I figured to get someone out there sooner than later, get the heater and toilet working, it was worth the cost for both jobs. I wanted everything working for the tenant.

They swapped out the toilet and in the process, they figured out that the leak was from the shutoff value to the toilet feed. So, I not only didn't need a new toilet, they didn't even need to remove the toilet, they just needed to replace the valve. They said he would not charge me for the value.  (I would hope not.)

Back to the heater... They flushed it and could not get it to work. He told me that he could call the Rheem help line and try to troubleshoot it, but we would probably end up trying to swap out parts (which would be hard to get on a 10 year old unit) and likely waste $3-4000 on parts, only needing to replace the unit anyway. He recommended replacing it with a different type of unit.  He said the unit was undersized for the application (because it provides hot water and radiant heat as  well.)

They had trouble getting everything straight on what his replacement quote was, but in the end, he suggested a combi unit that has separate function for the home heating and the hot water. After watching a number of YouTube videos on these units, I don't disagree that the unit he suggested is a good unit for the situation.  They did not explain what unit he was suggesting and why. I had to research it myself.

The retail cost of the existing is about $1000. A Rheem unit that produces almost double the volume of hot water would retail at bout $2000.  The unit he specified retails for about $4200. The price he quoted to install the new unit he suggested was almost $9000.  Let's say they have to pay retail (doubtful...).  It would cost $4800 to installed new Heater?

I can't imagine it would take more than one day for the two guys to replumb the area for a different unit, which at $150 for 8 hours would cost $1200, not $4800.  If it was $2000 to install I could see that as being in range... but $4800? I later spoke to the guy again and he confirmed it should take about a day to install that new unit. He said he had no control over the bidding software on the device they carried around.

That is not the end of the story though....

I called Rheem and spoke to the help line. The support guy suggested that it was dirty flame rods causing the error code and he emailed me the service manual. I went back there, took out 3 screws, cleaned the flame rods and the unit now works. So much for the estimate of thousand of dollars on part swapping troubleshooting.

Bottom line: Nice guys, capable plumbers. They didn't really know about the tankless water heaters and it seems like they are not interested in fixing things, they prefer to replace perfectly good equipment at very high cost to the customer.

Broken water line cost me over $6k for 1.5 hours of work, I even supplied all the materials.  I had tenants without water, total of 12 families,  I was desperate to get the repair completed.  After hours plumbers are hard to find and I think Harts knows this and that is why they charged me an outrageous amount.  If you can wait and it isn't an emergency call another company you will save a lot of money.

I'm very happy with this company.
I had a leak coming from my bathtub and so I reached out to Hart's services. I was fortunate enough to get a knowledgeable plumber named Chris. He was very polite, tidy, and was straight to the point. He was able to find the problem within a few min ( missing overflow gasket). During the process of cutting holes in walls and fixing the problem, Chris showed me everything he was doing, which was nice because that way I knew he wasn't doing any extra work that wasn't needed. When he was done, he placed the drywall back in its original spot and cleaned up very well. The whole process was very smooth, and I'm very satisfied with Hart's services company. I will be using them again in the future if needed.

Oh, and the customer service representatives were very nice, polite, and outgoing. I received two confirmation calls to confirm and remind me of my requested service. I highly recommend Hart's services.

I called to get a quote to have my toilet unplugged,  the toilet paper dowel was flushed.
They replied quickly and gave me a quote of $93.  When he arrived and assessed the situation he  gave me the worst case scenario,  the he could do it but this could happen, and that he recommends pulling  the toilet for $560; or placing it for 1k.  I can't afford that, but fear mongering doesn't work either.  Even if it's on their little iPad.  It doesn't work for me.

The customer service is amazing. They stay in constant contact and reply timely. Something that is really cool... They text you a photo and bio of the actual Plummer that is coming to your house so that you know who to expect.
They are prompt. Thorough. Efficient.

I had a clogged kitchen and bathroom sink issue that came up in another rental so I called Harts again. Steven and Mark showed up and managed to clear out the bathroom and kitchen sink all for $93 which was amazing.

Fortunately/unfortunately, they also pointed out that my kitchen was incorrectly plumbed which was another $600 fix. However they were able to give me the $50 yelp discount which helped out!

Mark and Steven are punctual, quick and really easy to work with. They take the time to explain the whole situation and educate me about the issues occurring on my property. They're also able to take payments over the phone which is super helpful as well!

I contacted Harts Services early late September for work to install 40 feet of gas line from kitchen to outside LP tanks. They scheduled for 10/22. On the morning of 10/22 Diane texted me and said they would have to reschedule due to other emergencies. When I explained that I had taken a day off of work, she was apologetic but could not do anything other than reschedule and offer $50.00 off of services. Not close to adequate. I was rescheduled for 11/10. At 5:00 p.m. on 11/09, I was called and again, the appointment was cancelled. This makes two cancellations and a total of almost 6 weeks without a stove/range. When they came on 11/11, they inspected the project and quoted me an unbelievable $4,700.00 for running 40' of track line and a half day of work. This is three times the average amount typically for a job like this. In the end, I was charged a $248.92 service fee for two cancellations, an overpriced estimate, and a gas range I still can't use. If you read other reviews, you will see a pattern of this kind of customer service. I was hopeful since the service people on the phone are very good but the overall experience was completely unsatisfactory and avoidable. This experience was dreadful.

BEWARE!!!  I asked Hart to install two new bidet seats that I purchased. When they came out, their estimate was almost $1300.00!  Absurdly expensive. I told him so.

Charles then went to his truck to talk with his manager. He returned with a 50% lower quote. Just like that, it was reduced to half.  This was still insanely expensive!

I phoned a local, family owned plumbing company. They will install both bidet seats for $200.00.

Harts Services apparently takes advantage of less assertive customers, and overcharges with outrageously high prices.

I urge you NOT to use this rip-off charging Hart's Services.

PS- I have never, in 70 years, written a negative review like this. However, be forewarned.

Tl;dr version - Great service at a great price with all costs discussed up front.

For those of you still with me... My husband and I just closed on a house. During the inspection, it was noted that the gas water tank should be looked at. It was original to the house (24 years old), not up to code, and had a possible corroded pipe. It could either be repaired or replaced. The homeowners offered to split the cost of a brand new one with us. They had a bid from another company that wanted $2300, including $100 to get a permit. You don't need a permit to change a water heater. We asked if we could get a second opinion and called Harts due to the amazing Yelp reviews.

Richard, the owner, and Tim came out the next day right on time. They looked it over and also agreed that it would be better to replace it than repair it. He then gave me an itemized bid/invoice on the spot. His cost to install a new tank, add earth quake straps, expansion tank, and remove the old one? $1660 including tax. Much more reasonable. And he didn't charge for the visit.

I called the next day to set up a time with Kaitlin, the office manager. She was SUPER helpful. We needed the tank taken care of quickly so we could close on time, yet they were booked up. She made some magic happen and got Tim back out there two days later.  He was very nice and professional and got the install done in a timely manner. The new tank now looks great.

Believe the 5 star reviews. I was skeptical at first too, but they are worth it! I am calling them for all future plumbing needs.

Hart's was the best. We had a clogged garbage disposal that was backing up into our kitchen sink. They came out in just about an hour and fixed the issue. They were running a special and only cost me $93.

After that initial good experience, had a hard time getting Harts to come help with problems. Three separate times they set a date to come look at a problem and no showed. The first time they called and said they ran out of time for all their stops, could they reschedule. I said sure and we set a date. Then they texted that day and said we have too many appointments and are looking for volunteers to reschedule, would you volunteer? When I didn't volunteer they just didn't show up. When I reached out to ask, they scheduled today. Never showed up. No call, no text. I was a fan of Harts. No more!

Credentials are an important thing to consider when reading reviews. I am a construction superintendent with a 25 year background. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of work done by Hart's services. The installation of a shower surround was only partially completed, the site was left dirty, and work had to be done by the resident for installation or they wanted extra money. the rates charged were excessive especially when the resident completed 90% of the demolition and cleaning. To finish the project I will have to rework things that they are supposed to have completed. Not to mention that they changed the products to be installed without consultation.

Months later Hart's never made any effort to actually resolve their poor craftsmanship and another contractor had to be hired to complete the project. Meanwhile there business continues to grow. They should maybe spend a little less on marketing and more on quality work.

I actually love the fact that I received an immediate response. I was the primary contact on this project, as I do this for a living; and I am not only the tenant, but the owners representative which has been the case for well  over 15 years. Your defense is amusing!! Good luck!!

Our initial call was for a stopped up kitchen sink drain pipe. Harts communicated both by E-mail and telephone prior to the appointment. The plumbers showed up in uniform, masked, shoe coverings, and got to work right away, so that they solved the problem quickly at about 1/4 the price we've had to pay other major name plumbing companies.

Our second visit was to solve a hot water supply problem to the kitchen sink. This was not solved as they did not want to touch our plastic pipe plumbing (in a 40 yo mobile home), because they were afraid it may break. Suggested we have the home re-piped with current materials. Now under consideration.

Would highly recommend Harts Services as we found them professional, open to our concerns, and responsive.

I had Harts Services replace my old leaky water line. They had to find the leak, locate the pipes, dig by hand and then use a ditch witch to dig under my driveway and garage. They replaced the old galvanized pipe pretty quickly. And also replaced some old compromised copper pipes in my garage. They were efficient and the plumber Chad was very professional and helpful with the what was going on at my house. It took a while for Bellevue to inspect the work, two inspections and there was snow and ice and freezing temperatures which put off the covering of the project. When covered at first it was not satisfactory but Alan their service rep contacted me and they came out and redid the cover work and it looks as good as it can be now. Thank you for your work and for Chad and Alan's attention to details.

Horrible experience with this company, they come out and gave me a quote because my hot water tank wasn't working,.it took two weeks of calling them and having them promise to return my calls but never actually doing it to finally getting them to come back only to tell me they don't have the part in stock and it would cost more then the original quote for me to finally give up on them.
Then they had the nerve to call me back and ask how my service was, I told them they never did any work so I was happy, the lady responded by saying I'm glad you had a good experience. What???? I would never use this company again.

Very nice staff and the techs are amazing but they are really expensive.  Did a total repipe job and didn't get other bids like I should have. Was kind of scared into it but I also had a water heater leak so this is where it started.  They also do not fix drywall or have a contractor come in to fix things after the job is done so don't expect that to happen with Harts. I have had ppl tell me that some plumbers have that included but some don't. Just a forewarning. I've learned from this,  make sure you get multiple bids!

Know this:  They will quote nothing over the phone and will charge $79 to come out and give an estimate.    This is after almost an entire day of back and forth - first with chat, then they called but could not help, then they called again - the folks on the phone are nice, but they are appointment takers.   You should be able to give me a ballpark idea of what it might cost to do a common water heater service over the phone.   Would have loved to try out a local business, but their practice seems shady at best.

They are thoroughly professional.  Got pictures of the guy that was coming via email.  I was told they tried to call me a few times to let me know they were coming, but we must have gotten the wrong phone number since I didn't get it.  Still, with the email I knew that they were on their way and when they showed up the technician was polite, friendly and took care to not leave a mess.

But the price...  $650 (inc tax) to replace a faucet?  I went down to Lowes & Home Depot shopped for a replacement faucet that was better than the one I had.  Picked it up for $200 including tax (Hart wanted $300 just for the faucet) and put it in myself in 30 minutes.  Even after paying them $80 for the visit I saved myself over $350 for 30 minutes of work.

Friendly, kind service worker - suggested excessive plumbing including contractors for the clean up , jackhammers, etc.   the bid was close to 10,000$.   Got a second opinion from Scottco plumbing for less than 1,000$.  And it was fixed in under 2 hrs.   Harts suggested we contact our insurance company to cover the costs ... not sure they were as thorough or as honest as Scottco.   We did not use Harts in the end and we won't call them again either.

Really disappointed.  Called on a Saturday and was scheduled for service on Monday.  Monday they called and said they couldn't make it.  At that point they assured me I wouldn't get bumped so they would be out the next day.  Next day they called and said they still wouldn't be able to make it.   Now I have work done that needs to be completed to close my mortgage and I'm left hung out to dry.  Thanks for nothing.

We had a massive pipe clog and Hart Services sent out Dakota to fix it. He was quick, efficient and explained everything that he was doing and needed to do. The price for the service was about $500 with tax,  but what can you do? Plumbers are expensive. Customer service was great. Would recommend this company.
They also sent an email and a text message with the time they would arrive and a picture of the person coming to your house, which I found extremely helpful. Masks were worn and socially distancing was done. Thank you Hart Services.

I had an appointment for this Thursday. They were booked over a week out. I chose the soonest date available and took the day off. I was expecting someone between 12-2. 3pm arrives so I call. Told I'm being transferred. Was on hold for 20 minutes before getting disconnected. I call back and then get transferred again. 10 minutes later I'm told they had an emergency and the next available date is next Thursday. A day of pay wasted. I found another company who came out next day and I got it resolved. Horrible communication.

We went to watch TV in family room and noticed water coming from the ceiling. I turned off the water and put down buckets and towels and called Harts to come find out where the leak was. Ron and his partner showed up within the hour and determined it was a pin hole leak in the copper pipe coming from upper toilet area (behind the wall). They took lots of photos and presented various options on simple repair or full pipe replacement. We had them do the leak repair and they did a great clean up as well (soaked ceiling had to be cut into). Ron and his partner were quick, pleasant to deal with and I would recommend them to anyone in the future. Thank you very much.

Chris Phillips was great! He was respectful of my home and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed all of the information he shared and I greatly appreciate how quick he was. I had a faucet leak and he explained everything before and after the repair so that I understood every angle. Obviously plumbing can be pricey depending on what needs to be done but I was happy with the price; it seemed fair. I've been ripped off by a different plumbing company in the past so I'm always sure the get as many quotes as possible. This price was perfect. Also Harts Services did an excellent job of squeezing me in last minute. I'm very grateful!

Look - Harts Services are a little pricey.  They installed a kitchen faucet for about $800 - I supplied the faucet.  Although I'm disappointed in the price, Harts doesn't claim to be a price 'value'.

Their customer service is exceptional.  Customer Service Representatives, Aurora, Nicole and Leslie all did their job well. They listen to you when there is a problem and do so with genuine care, they do what they can to solve it or get you in touch with someone who can.  They seem to take joy in their service - that means something.  After an issue was escalated, the owner himself called (same day).  He listened to my issues and treated me with genuine respect and care - without buying me off (simply discounting my invoice).  I left our phone conversation impressed.

If the owner of the company was willing to go through an invoice line item by line item and discuss their practices for a half an hour on an $800 invoice what would this company be willing to do on a bigger project.

Their brand is caring.  It shows in their CSRs, their plumbers all the way up to the owners of the company.  If you are looking for a good company that seems to take care of their customers and employees, and tries like hell to do the right thing, look no further.  They however are not cheap.

Dinged because of the reason for the escalation and on a single handle faucet the hot water is now in the down position...pretty sure that should have been in the up position like it was before...but not sure what is customary.

Plumbers are always super friendly and look for the correct solution. This company is far from the cheapest option however, they will actually fix your problem correctly. Dylan is amazing. The reason I gave Harts Services a 1-Star review was price and unethical sales practices.
I am a 72-year-old senior. My disabled brother is 74.  I was under his trailer installing insulation and noted a significant leak.  I called Harts Services and they came out and told me it would cost $1,500 to fix the leak. I asked the plumber how long it would take to fix the leak and he stated 1  1/2 hours as he would have to replace a plastic tee and 2 couplings.  But if I had the whole trailer replumbed for $8,100 they would not charge the $1,500.

I questioned how it could cost $1,500 to replace a couple of accessible plastic fittings in 1  1/2 hours of work. The Harts plumber told me he did not set the costs, the office did.

Now I have to make an on-the -spot decision to pay $1,500 or have the trailer replumbed.  Since the leak was significant and $1,500 was a rip-off, I decided to pay $8,100 to have the whole trailer replumbed.  According to the Harts plumber, old plumbing was Quest plastic and subject to failure.

So, I paid $8,100 with no idea if this was a competitive price. It took 2 days for 2 plumbers to complete the work. Obviously, this was a hard sell tactic and preyed on seniors and/or other folks who are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

On the positive side the plumbers who did the job were very professional and appeared to do good work.

Bottom line - do not use Harts Services for emergency situations. Get 3 bids on any other plumbing work done.

I have never had such a friendly and professional Plumbing Company in my home . The customer service and professional  knowledge of the team is amazing . The employee gave me options as well as explained the whole estimate . Once I signed , the employee was hard at work keeping me informed and showing me things along the way . The price seemed fair for the amount of labor involved . This happened on a Sunday . The worker did not seem rushed and wanted to make sure he job was done . Bonus ! He loved my dogs :) I highly recommend this company

Disclaimer: Harts performed no plumbing services for me, and the plumber they sent out was friendly and polite.
I am rating Harts 1 star because their bid for work was to replace $10 worth of parts over a time period that the plumber said would take roughly 2-4 hours, and my bid was nearly $1,500.00.

This was to:
Replace a bad elbow joint in an easily accessible area
Add a new valve
Replace two pieces of PVC under my sink

When asked to justify the prices, the plumber was unable to. There are no hourly rates. A job is a job. if it takes 15 minutes, congratulations: you just paid $400 to hook up a dishwasher hose.

Simply put, I have no doubts the company and the plumber are qualified, but their prices are outrageous. I can go to college to learn how to be a plumber for less than $1,500.00.

I was given an appt for repairing a leak at one my faucet fixtures 4 days ago. Unfortunately, that day turned out to be the snow dump of the decade. Hart's called to explain a delay--- I totally understood. But now have to wait 4 days including the weekend when apparently Hart's techs are unwilling or unable to drive in the snow. As a result the pipe leak continued for those 4 more days. On the day my rescheduled appt window of time, the time came and went. I called and was told the tech was unable to come again today. I was told my appt would need to be rescheduled again. And this time, no window of time was possible. I assume Harts just expects me to be available all day someday in the future after all other emergencies are resolved from other customers. I just called another plumbing company. They'll be at my home tomorrow by 8-10 am. Now how hard is that kind of service Harts?

This is one of the most unethical companies I have ever encountered. To make a long story short, my next door neighbor needed a new sewer line and they unfortunately hired Hart's. To be a good neighbor, I allowed Hart's onto my property to dig a hole and install a sewer. Over the course of a month (should've been a 3 day project but they couldn't figure out how to use their boring machine), Hart's trashed my front yard, never asking permission before storing equipment and several tons of dirt on my property for weeks at a time, basically showing total disregard for my rights as a homeowner. When they replaced a slab of my concrete driveway after the job was completed, they did it all wrong, effectively ruining the look of my driveway. They didn't talk to me at all or ask for my input prior to wrecking my driveway. When I asked them to fix the damage, they refused, saying it was my fault for allowing them on my property in the first place. The owner of Hart's recommended I hire their concrete guy who wrecked my driveway to fix the damage he created. Yes, they asked me to pay them to fix the damage they created while they were wreaking havoc on my property for a month. Unbelievable! I'm still in shock that this company exists and is allowed to do business.  I assume the 5 star reviews are fake reviews that they paid someone to create.

Frustrating when the phone is answered and I tell them it's an emergency, they take all of my information and say someone will call back ASAP making me believe I've found a company to help so I wait around by the phone and I never heard anything back at all.  Sad to see companies not value or respect other people's time. At least call back and say you are too busy.

They came and did a sewer scope and gave me a $49,000 estimate to fix my clay sewer line they told me was failing.  They also said it had lots of newly cut out roots that would spread out further when they grew back.  It would have been a nice check for them.

My second opinion was with Sewer Inspector, they were wonderful.  Call them and you won't be sorry.  They charged me $200 to do a scope, explain the photos,  walked me down the street and showed me where my sewer line runs.  They also gave me a detailed receipt with photos etc.  Sewer Inspector is located in Tacoma.  They just do scopes, so they are not biased about the fixing of the lines.

I'm so lucky I didn't go with Hart's recommendation.

I feel like the entire staff at Harts Service really care about my home needs. Hart is helping us with a complete bathroom remodal in a 1900 Tacoma home.  The service operator, scheduler and plumber have been great and responsive to my needs in terms of schedule, price and scope of work.

We are serving as our general contractor and orchestrating all the subcontractors to save money. Hart does a good job of communicating the requirements and phasing in the plumbing tasks alongside other trades people.   The plumber is very clean and respectful of our home. He even cleaned up the crawl space and removed abandoned piping.

Harts Services is the real deal and I would recommend them to other homeowners.  Harts is not the cheapest but priced fairly (plumbing is always going to be an expensive investment).  I feel like they cater a work plan that aligns with your project and budget.  The scheduling, estimates and billing are connected with their central computer system; everyone can pull up the job information which is super organized.

Best experience ever! We had another plumbing company set up to come out and they were no call no show for two days. We called Harts Services and first off customer service was great and within three hours of calling Rich showed up and unclogged a major pipe to our septic tank. Rich was super professional and knew what he was doing.
We had another issue with a bathroom remodel and they sent out Preston the next day because he was a specialist in what we needed. He was also professional and knew what he was doing. Harts communicated the entire time via calls, texts, and email when the technicians would arrive. I personally appreciated the thorough communication. We received a text with the technicians photos and bio so we knew who was being sent out.
Pricing was great and fair for what was being done. Other companies are so overpriced.
We have more remodeling to do and we will use Harts again! Thanks Guys!

Had one of two separate on demand hot water systems go out on us. Hart's plumbing was there with in 6hrs, isolated the problem diagnosed the problem, got a list of the proper parts and gave of a bid the next day. While waiting for the parts to come in they were in touch with us making sure all was well. 96 hrs later they were installing the new unit. Due to the space constraints involved with this project it took two days to get it done. The gentleman that worked on it was Dan! Dan KNOWS his stuff, I was a general contractor before I retired so I know what I am talking about. From now on Hart's is my plumbing contractor and Dan is my Man!

We have had some issues with our plumbing for about 2 years and have had several plumbing companies come out to snake our sewer and also give us a diagnosis. We found out we have a root issue and eventually we'll need it fixed but was quoted like $6,000. But we'll keep getting backups and every time we have other places out it will be over $400 or more. So Sunday we started having the back up and I just had a work injury and haven't gotten paid yet. Ugh! We were so scared and stressed out how we'd get this fixed or just unclogged for a temporary fix for now. We'll I called a couple places & we thought we had Harts before and they said they'd be out sometime on Monday. They told us they have a special of $93 if it would be only the snaking and camera. So we braced ourselves for the more cause it's never going to work out, right? Well they came out and it was only the clog & they cleared it! AMAZING! Andrew was fantastic! He made us feel great about our somewhat messy house and we couldn't believe something worked out! They were fantastic and we'll shout from the rooftops about Harts to anybody! Thanks so much Andrew and Harts!!!

The plumber pulled our toilet and ran a snake. He claimed he couldn't clear the blockage and said they needed to install a cleanout outside my house and quoted $5,500 before tax. I declined, but called another plumber who was out that day and for $150 he cleared the blockage in 5 minutes using a camera and running some water through my cleanout and even confirmed my sewage line was fine showing me the camera. Waste of $212, and attempting to reel me into an overpriced cleanout install is predatory. The plumber who came after Hart's left said with permit it's $850 for him to do the same work. My drain was only 2 feet 6 inches deep and he even went over the parts he'd use which when I looked online for how to install a cleanout were the correct parts including the Fernco attachment and Y adapter for access to my drain line. Yet, Hart's wanted $6000 after tax to swap 2 feet of pipe and dig down 2 feet 6 inches, unbelievable. Don't give me that city permits are expensive excuse. I looked em up they are around $300. Protect yourself and your family and go elsewhere. Their justification for the cleanout was to jet back into the house. This is totally unnecessary and now have had multiple plumbers I've spoken with for a second opinion say the same thing.

Also didn't get refunded the $93 which they said they do if they can't clear the drain.

Update: the manager did call me and refund me the cost of the service. I will give them credit for that and up my rating that they at least had good faith to reach out. The quote was still concerning so I'm leaving the review.

This is the second time we've had Hart's at our house - this time to fix something that they previously fixed that sadly broke again.  It wasn't their fault that it broke again, it's a poorly designed and poorly installed shower system that we'll eventually need to replace.  They did the work free of charge which is pretty amazing.

I really like their extra customer service touches - they make all the difference.  The plumber arrived on time and I had a text from them with a bio and a picture of him so that I could be sure that was who I was letting into the house - nice safety move for both them and their customers.  Kudos to James, our plumber, and the whole Harts Services crews for a job well done.

We had a serious storm water drainage issue in our backyard, where rainwater was pooling throughout the yard & not draining.  Harts Services came out early the next morning right on time & had a full crew hard at work putting in our new drainage system by noon.  They had the work done by afternoon the next day.  Chris, Dillon, David & Jeff were all such hard workers, knowledgeable, courteous, communicative & had good equipment for the job. They cleaned everything up great, and even cleaned up some of the landscaping.

After the next rains, we have no more standing water, the installation was perfect & we couldn't be happier to have found Harts Services.  We highly recommend them & will be using them solely going forward for our plumbing services.

Sadly this project provided Harts a significant challenge, and we were very unhappy with their work and the condition they left our property.  Holes in the wall and the yard in disarray.  I called several times and several QC people came with promises.  Still no action.  We were told non-plumbers did our plumbing work. It was awful.  It took several furious calls.  I was told on Monday one week after the work began, they would come on Friday.  I pitched a fit.  Miraculously a plumber opened up and James was wonderful.  He took out all the previous work and redid it beautifully with a great attitude.  This project cost us $13,000.  My expectation of a decent job was not unwarranted.   Proceed with caution with this company.  Schedule was not met.  People did not come when promised.  Cost was high..  They text and email twice a day for accolades which I cannot give.

Had them work on my tankless water heater and they did an amazing job. The technician, Chris P., was great. He was professional and polite. Did the work quick and was honest.

Their phone service operator, Nicole, was also amazing. Answered all my questions and concerns and made the experience hassel free.

It's good to mention that I tried calling many plumbers and not many work on tankless water heaters in this area. I totally recommend them. And their pricing is not expensive compared to others I called.

UPDATE 1/21/19

Tub trouble was the cause of my second call to Hart's, and just like the first time, they earn top marks for speed and communication. Benjamin came out for an inspection, gave me the low-down on my issue, and was prepared to come back the very next day to start work. My schedule didn't quite mesh with his, though, so I worked with Devon at the office to set things up for a few days later. Hart's stayed in touch by phone and email, letting me know when to expect the crew.

When Ben returned, he worked fast and clean, and finished on-budget and 15 minutes ahead of his estimate. Great work!

Their service is great! I installed a new roof for a customer & had a bathroom pipe that got clogged with construction debris. They came right away, formulated a plan which involved coming back the next morning, cutting out a small section of the bathroom vent pipe, clearing the obstruction and putting a new section of pipe back in. I didn't get a bid or upfront pricing ahead of time, I just got a bill for $3,247.85 when the job was complete. I'm guessing this was 4-5 hrs of work. Again their service was great and they solved my problem quickly but I feel like they took advantage of me financially.

Their customer service was excellent while they were providing a bid, and during the work. Their work seemed thorough, although pretty costly. However, after the final bill was paid there was still a part of the work that was uncompleted. After multiple emails and phone calls to the company and directly to the lead technician over a period of weeks, it became clear they had no intention of responding further. After their previous outstanding customer service this was very disappointing. We'll be looking elsewhere next time we need drainage system and sump pump work.

I am so pleased with Hart's! I've had a series of separate plumbing issues in my 100 year-old home and I've used them three times in the past two months. Every single time the plumbers have been really nice guys -- so helpful and good-natured!! We've had Preston, John, and Steven. They've been quick to identify the problem and fix it each time. They are absolute gems!!!

I've come to value that Harts has the equipment and know-how of a bigger operation. The last time we called them, it was because our new kitten had tossed something in the toilet that went down the drain and clogged the pipe. At first we called a smaller roto-rooter type company. They were very nice but they tried for two hours, couldn't get it out, and suggested we take out the toilet and buy a new toilet. Luckily we said no thanks and called Harts. If there is ever a next time we will just call Harts first! Their plumber came had the object out in just a few minutes. He had the right tools for the job -- plus they were a lot cheaper!

Thank you, Hart's! We love you guys!

I made an appointment to have 2 hose bibs and a toilet flapper replaced.    The plumber gave me a price of $1100 + which was higher than I expected, however, I accepted the price and started the process of signing related documents.  I expected the authorization form, but I thought collecting half the price before the job started was questionable.  Then I was required to sign a form that said the job had been completed to my satisfaction before it started and that made me angry.  I withdrew my authorization and got a job done for half the price from a plumber in business for himself. Additionally, when they asked how I would like to pay for it and offered a credit card as an option, they did not disclose upfront that the cc option would involve an additional 3% charge.   I consider Hart's to have slippery business practices and to overcharge. I do not recommend them.

I would give 0 rating if I could...
In October 2019 I hired Harts Services to install a new water heater...besides the cost of the unit and installation I paid $497 for maintenance for them to come out twice a year to check plumbing of my mobile home for leaks and service as needed...They called to schedule an appointment early this year to check my septic...but I explained to them as I did the tech who installed the water heater that our septic is maintained by the Mobile Home Park and we are not responsible for this type of maintenance...I called a couple months ago to have our plumbing' inspected since it had been 6 months...I was rescheduled 3 times...Now it's too late since we've listed our home for sale...I requested a refund of the maintenance fee since I had not received any maintenance and was referred to Christina (Maintenance Manager as I understand) She said she would get with the manager Steven Coch and he would get back to me after his maternity leave...That was last week. Today, july 29th, 2020 Christina called and explained that he ok'd a refund of $137 since she said I received a membership discount of $373.88. I requested to speak to Steven Coch, Manager...He said he is willing to refund only $137...but I explained that I paid $497 and received NO maintenance therefore I should have a full refund...then Steven goes on to explain that he gave me a 10% discount also...What 10% discount??? There is no mention of a 10% discount...only the $373.88 Member Savings which is basically just charging me $497 and using my money calling it a Member Savings...My total bill was $4244.31. On my receipt it says and I quote 100% Satisfaction Guarantee...We promise your complete satisfaction - GUARANTEED if you are not fully satisfied, let us know and we will make it right...Making it right would be a full refund of the maintenance fee I paid in good faith but received NO maintenance. I have been cheated by this company...Steven is very rude and talked over me repeatedly explaining about this 10% discount he said he gave me but it is NOT listed on my receipt...there was no 10% discount. When I call a company for services, I ask how much out front...that is what I paid and this is what is on my receipt!!! Plus the maintenance fee for later inspections which I did not receive. Nothing short of a full refund of the maintenance fee will satisfy me...I am NOT 100% satisfied and based on their statement they say we will make it right...Well a partial refund is NOT making it right. I consider a partial refund fraud!!!

I had faucet spout that leaked.  they quoted me $380 to replace it, plus nine other quotes 'in case' from tearing out the kitchen, all the way up to tearing out the whole house.  Total scare-job, pure sleazy sales tactics.  Well, the replacement kit at the Ace Hardware was $22, including tools & tape.  took me 20 minutes to find it in the store and 10 minutes to install myself, easy-peasy.

I contacted multiple plumbing companies to get a range of prices and make the best decision for myself (and my wallet).  Harts' estimate was FAR below any of the other bids I received ($150 cheaper than the next estimate and $300 cheaper than the most expensive).  The technician who came out, Ryan, was respectful of COVID19 related concerns (which I understand the entire company has its own guidelines) and sanitized the iPad, wore gloves and a mask the entire time, and even put covers over his shoes to prevent tracking anything into the house.  Beyond COVID19 concerns, he was quick with his work and took steps to prevent any further drain issues.  Since this work was done in the midst of a complete washroom remodel, he also asked me if I had any additional questions or if there were ways that he could be of additional service.  Ryan was personable and friendly (which is always a bonus when bringing a stranger into one's home).  I would definitely recommend Harts Services to anyone needing plumbing work done.

We had a pipe collapse under our driveway and called these guys to get an estimate.

Tim came out and looked at the pipe with a camera thing and said they would be able to repair it. Right away I felt comfortable that he knew what he was doing.  They were able to fit us in the next day for the appointment.

Rich and Jeff came out the next day. In my opinion this task was not an easy one but after almost two days of hard work it was finished.  All in all, they got it done and we were very happy with their service.

We had an estimate from another company that was almost $2,000 more than what these guys gave us.  Harts was able to do a different technique to change the pipe out (pipe bursting) so they didn't have to tear up all of our concrete driveway, which in turn saved us a bunch of money.  These people are good and very knowledgeable, I would highly recommend them!!

A good experience with Hart's. Very efficient throughout estimating, scheduling, installing my crawl space sump pump. Good customer service.

Now all I need is a heavy rain to really test the system. Fortunately, this is the PacNW and I won't have to wait too long.

Had a blocked line between house and septic. Called Hart's, was told by answering service we would be referred to someone in the field, and never got a call back.

We did get an apology in the mail a few weeks later with a Starbucks card, which we felt was generous. It doesn't help the lack of communication via the answering service, but it was a nice gesture.

Had them come out to replace my water heater that had failed earlier in the day. They were prompt and responsive, which was nice. The quote to replace the regular water heater was $2700. We mentioned while initially talking to the tech, that we were thinking about a tankless option. They quoted $8k for that. My wife and I went inside to think about it because it was sticker shock. While inside, the tech heard a hissing noise at the water main in the curb. We came out to talk to him about the water heater and he mentioned the water main was leaking and he could fix it for $3000. We were dumbfounded and decided to shop around. He then said he could lower the water heater quote to $1600. We asked him to leave. My parents know a plumber that we had do the water heater install for $1100. He also looked at the water main and fixed it since since it took 5 minutes. Our plumber was shocked at the prices they quoted. Harts' seem to take advantage of emergency situations and when people aren't  knowledgeable about the situation. In these times with the health crisis happening in our area, it would be nice if businesses didn't take advantage.

I contacted Hart's services to inspect my hot water heater as my hot water stopped working over the weekend. Scheduling service was fast and easy. The customer service representative was informative and friendly. She looked for ways to save me money and was able to send someone out within a couple hours. The technician that came to my home was knowledgeable and gave me a couple options to consider as well as upfront pricing.  He also offered options that would save me money.  I will be using Hart's going forward for my hot water heater replacement.

When we needed a plumber, we called Hart's Services.  That was one of the best service calls ever!  Our technician, Radonis was excellent.  Upon his arrival he fully explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and left me feeling totally confident in letting him do his job.  Radonis wore boot covers and a face mask the entire time. The job was completed in a timely manner.  I would definitely call them (Hart's Services) for any of my plumbing needs.  Definitely would recommend for others also.

Made a BIG mistake hiring these scammers to install new bathroom and kitchen pipes. First part of the job they didn't install an in the estimate refrigerator line, but paid for it. Second part they didn't installan in the estimate dishwasher line, and paid for it. I thought they were going to come back and complete the work. Crickets.. Wanting me to keep one of their advertising signs in my yard. Oh he!l no. They keep sending emails about it. They are a junk business.

We had a problem with a clogged drain where the upstairs tub when it drained would fill up the downstairs tub. I got quotes from several businesses and the quote I got from Hart's was very good. A guy name Stephen came out and did the work. I thought the price was very reasonable unlike some other outfits that I'll review in a separate post. Hart's quoted $93 or free. They said that if they couldn't clear the drain the normal way that they wouldn't charge anything but would then estimate what it would cost to do the work. In our case, the $93 resolved the problem.

As part of their service they do want to run a scope down your sewer line. They saw some issues with our line that we were aware of for the most part. They are wanting to drum up business for sewer repairs but it wasn't a heavy sell. I think what they found and what they recommended was legit.

I would recommend this company based on this experience.

Great customer service over the phone and while booking the appointment. The specialist the arrived was polite and knowledgeable explaining as little or as much as I wanted him to of his process. When I see or have / receive excellent customer service, I often feel it should be shared, esp social media like how I found this business - Yelp. These guys are 5 stars and I'd give them 6 stars if I could. After getting stuff ready under the sink so they could look at my sink & dishwasher and answer why it won't wash completely and that the flow to the faucet has become a trickle? I decided to do a few tests to see what had pressure and what didn't and quickly concluded I needed a new faucet for the kitchen sink or to remove it at least and unclog. I had already ordered same-day delivery of a new faucet for our sink and felt that the issue was it is clogged on the supply side as the inlet hoses have pressure. We recently had new construction near by and I suspect it's from them. Anyways I'd cancelled my appointment with any fuss but was surprised when they stopped by anyways just to say hello and offer help. They did! He said I was correct, it will be an object stone or plastic clogging the input at the solenoid on a he dishwasher and to watch for any stones or plastic or other whatever that may come out.
My point is they went above and beyond for a cancelled appointment and gave excellent advise for this retired engineer to follow. I promise one thing and that is if I do need plumbing help, I am calling these guys first. Yeah 6 stars they are.

I called Harts out to examine a leaking shower pipe under my house.  They were quick to answer my email, and Ryan showed up when he said he would (so we're off to a pretty good start, for a plumber/contractor/repairman).  Ryan went under the house and examined things, then came back with photos.  Yep, our shower drain pipe was leaking.  Yep, there was definitely a repair in our future.  I also asked him for a quote to repair two leaking valve stops under our kitchen sink.  He was honest and said he could charge us for the repair, or we could probably do it ourselves (seeing as I was willing to crawl into a crawlspace, Ryan probably figured there wasn't much I wasn't willing to do).  He showed me how, then reassured me that if things went wrong and I turned my house into a pool, I could just call him with questions/call him to come out and fix it.

I really appreciate honesty and integrity in a company, so while they didn't get my business this time (it just didn't make sense with the shower - we wanted it ripped out and replaced and he could only rip it out, I'd have to go find another contractor to put a new one in); I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone looking for a plumber (or an excavator!  Apparently that's what they mainly do.  I have a slightly sloped backyard I'd like to level someday and when that day comes, I'll absolutely be contacting Harts for a quote.)

The good: This company responded quite quickly, returned my calls, and called when they said they would. The technician showed up on time, and gave me custom quotes immediately. He completed the work the same day. He showed genuine interest in my budget, and provided me an array of options that might fit my needs. He also seemed genuinely excited about his work, and gave me time to consider before making a decision. And, when I had a concern the next day, they sent someone out to inspect it, free of charge.

The less-good: Their work is pretty expensive. For a comparable price, I could have gone with a Home Depot or Lowe's contracted service professional, and had additional service done/items replaced in addition to the basic hot water heater. And, this company does not seem to routinely set up inspections with the city for their work--I was told that to do so, my costs would double (whereas the Home Depot-sent person was able to do this within the same budget).

The very not good: They called me the next day to see if I was pleased with the service I had received, on the follow up visit. I said that the person checking the problem had been good, and I was satisfied. I was told that many of their satisfied customers enjoy leaving five star ratings and that they would send me a link to leave a review, and if I did so that day, they would include a gift card in the thank you note they planned to send me. I definitely felt that I was being offered payment in exchange for a positive review, and this definitely makes me question the other positive reviews I saw for them. This is unethical, and I think is reason for me not to use them again.

I can't recommend Harts enough. Literally everyone I've talked to has been so kind and wonderful to work with. They answer the call asking how they can make your day better, and believe me, they do make your day better (plus, that hold music? *chef's kiss* excellent). When Jason and Dakota came to diagnose the issue I was having, they took their time and answered any and all questions I had - and I was so happy there was a solution that didn't require digging up my whole yard! The work they did to clear the blockage that day was so appreciated to get me up and running until the liner could be installed. On day one, Alvin arrived to prep the area and was so fast! Day two, Tim and Alex showed up to install the liner and went through what the day would look like with me. At the end of the day, they filled in the hole and it nearly looks the same as before they started! I'm so grateful for their work and how wonderful they all were to work with. While I hope I don't have a need to call again for a long time, it'll be them I call when I do! 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone.

UPDATE TO WHAT I POSTED YESTERDAY (BELOW)
After seeing my review, a Hart Services representative called me to explain their business to me.  I got from our conversation that they are more of a full service company. The gentlemen said the company will refund the amount I was charged for the quote, which I appreciate.
______________________________________________________
I would recommend you NOT contact this business.  I called them to reinstall my kitchen sink after getting new counter tops.  Took the technician/installer over 20 minutes to put his quote together.  He quoted me over $2,100 to reinstall the sink (and some other plumbing work I didn't need) - which is outrageous (and I had to pay over $30 for the quote). I told him that was way too much and he said he just plugs the numbers in and that's what he came up with.  I didn't get the felling he knew what he was doing.

I called another company and they did the work for just over $300.   It only took an hour and 1/2 to reinstall the sink.

Unfortunately, we've had the need for a plumber twice this month. Fortunately, we found Harts Services to remedy the problems. I have to say I was almost shocked by their customer service and how quickly they scheduled us. The ladies who took care of our appointments not only were considerate of us but they were considerate of their technicians. I couldn't believe how smoothly and flawlessly they coordinated it all. The first time we needed after-hours help and I got regular updates from the office staff until Chris could get to our home, which was 9 pm. My gosh, these ladies are the best! And Chris was awesome.

Today another Chris came out (on Christmas Eve!), and handled a mysterious (to us, not him) plumbing emergency and saved Christmas! We called yesterday and they worked us in first thing this morning. What a company! I can't recommend them highly enough.

Oh, and they're upfront about their pricing. No surprises and they're very reasonable. We have nothing but the best to say about them.

Our family loves the Harts Services family!

I called on Monday, May 21 and had an appointment set for Wednesday, May 23 at 5:30 to replace two toliets. I received a call around 1:00 on Wednesday to remind me of the appointment, a message was left as I was working.
At 5:10, they called and I was driving home to meet them so I didn't pick up the call. They left a message saying that they wanted to send the plumber over now.
At 5:40 no one came so I called the company to see if he got lost and I was told they sent the plumber to someone else house. I asked why??? she just said that it happens sometimes. Are you kidding me??? I had to get off work early to meet the plumber and he didn't even show up!!!
I asked why they left a message saying they were on their way, and she said they were going to be, but it got changed. Why????????????
She said she could reschedule it if I want!!
Don't call this company...they are not dependable!!!!

Right before the big snow storm here, Harts came to the rescue! Because I was late on covering my spigots, let's just say when I did cover, one of the pipes broke. Harts was so quick with their response! Aurora was wonderful to work with and she was able to get the serviceman out quickly. She's friendly and understanding and wanted to make sure the work was done to my satisfaction. The other thing that I like is that they send you a text with who your serviceman looks like and a little bit about them. So I knew once I opened the door, it was in fact someone from Harts. My serviceman was named James and he was so personable, professional and quick but made sure to fix the issue. It was so cold out and late, but he always kept a great attitude, which I'm not sure I could say the same for myself, I'm pretty sure my hands would fall off. Haha!
I'd never had to call emergency plumbing and my experience now, I can say was great. I do have an older home with galvanized pipes and I know that  when the replacement  will take place, I will be calling Harts.

This company charged my wife $400 to replace an $88 part that you can find at any home improvement store. The tech was there about 30 min. I don't realize plumbers make $800 per hour. They took advantage of my wife because she didn't know better. I will never contract this company again, and I recommend you don't either. I called the office and was polite and professional, and the manager did nothing, that's the price.  Maybe they will be a little more understanding when I sit on a public sidewalk in front of their business with a sign informing anyone not to do business with this scrupulous company.

These guys are jaw dropping awesome. They answer their phone with Hi! How can we make your day better?. I loved them from that moment and it just got better from there. They call the morning of your service appointment and give a time frame, then they call you 20 minutes prior and text you a photo of your plumber. Josh was completely professional and wore plastic booties on his shoes when he entered the house. They were able to quickly assess and fix our issues. Their pricing was incredibly reasonable. Steven came and we discussed the problem and he gave me some options.  I chose the one I wanted and he did the work within a few hours.  Everything was first class and professional.  I'm extremely happy with the work that was done and will definitely go back to Harts if I have a need in the future!!

This company was very easy to deal with - I was able to setup an appointment completely using yelp messaging online and they texted and called to let me know somebody was on their way. The person that helped me at my house really talked it all over with me and showed me the problem. We also discussed projects I could do in the future and he inspected my pipes downstairs to tell me and show me what would need done. I've already recommended this company to my sisters. Contacted Harts about a sewer line repair for a listing I had in Tacoma. It was refreshing to call and check on estimates and to have someone answer the phone, seem interested in doing the work, and have them get an estimator out there the next day. Their price was right in line with another companies & they did the work 2 days later, plenty of time for us to close the house sale. When I checked their work, the yard was put back exactly as they'd found it! I'll definitely be using these guys again.

Excellent service! I had a sewer line backup into my bathroom and called Hart's Services for a consultation. Chris showed up that morning and I couldn't have had a better first impression. Professional, confident and a downright nice guy. He  systematically went over my sewer system top to bottom. Used his knowledge and tools to pinpoint the issue and put me on the docket for next day repair. He showed up right on time with Scott and they got right to work. They did excellent, and physically demanding work like a couple of pros and knocked it out in a day. I now have a perfectly functioning, modern upgrade to my little old house. I couldn't be more happy with a job well done. Thanks to Maria, Chris and Scott. Your positivity, hard work and professionalism is gold standard.  Hart's will be my go to and first mention from here on out! Thanks again.

I had them come out and fix a kitchen sink faucet and dishwasher line. They were good at communicating about the time line of when they would arrive and the technician was polite and professional. He explained some of the problem areas to me and let me make my own decisions. I'm very pleased with the work.

Talk about customer service, I called Harts yesterday in the early afternoon, next thing I knew Chris was at my door ready to take a look at my dishwasher/garbage disposal issue. He took care of everything, explained my options, and was beyond polite. I will be calling Hart's for all future plumbing needs. I suggest you do the same!

Josh Kobilansky - Josh and his co-worker did a great job today (working on Memorial Day) to dig up and fix a leak we had in our irrigation supply line at out house.  Both of the guys were great to deal with & talk to.  They got the job done as efficiently as possible and handled the repair.

Harts Services was the first to respond to my request for service and called me back on a Sunday to schedule the service call for Monday (a federal/state/local holiday).  I'm very happy with the level of service to get this taken care of quickly.  The communication all the way through was above & beyond.  They will be my first & only call if I need service work done again.

Horrible... they are very over priced - bid a job for me that was $16,000. over the 3 other bids I received. They put pressure on you to make a decision right away, and will give you a discount if you have them do the work right away. I have used many plumbers in the past and I just wanted to warn the unaware that they should use another company.

I called on Thursday and had an appointment set up for Tuesday morning. Harts plumbing called on Monday afternoon  to reschedule because there was an emergency and it was going to take them all of Monday and part of Tuesday. So we rescheduled it for Thursday at noon. At 13:30 I called Hart plumbing if they were coming and she said he should be here shortly.  The plumber showed up after 14:30. He looked under the dishwasher and took maybe 5 minutes to report we need a new dishwasher. What shocked me was the diagnostic pricing and the quote he gave me to install a new dishwasher. It was highway bank robbery! I'm also very disappointed in the level of service received.

Installed a new water heater that malfunctioned. Sent a message out for same day service to fix or replace the unit. Harts called back almost immediately!  I also got a text. Customer service was so understanding and nice!  Got a quick service call estimate which was absolutely reasonable (dIscounts always help) to get a tech out early afternoon. Scott was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful!  He answered all questions asked and did not try to sell us anything. Estimated cost for reinstall of the new heater was reasonable. Will absolutely call Harts again if needed.

I called on 6-3 around 7am to inquiry and schedule service for my bathroom tub that  was having an issue draining.  I spoke with a very nice woman and explained the issue, asked her if you were still running the $93 clear any drain and she said yes.  She asked me several questions including if we had used drain-o and I said yes.  Our tub was still draining but it was slow and I felt it needed to be snaked. Never during this conversation did she mention an additional fee for drain-o, trip fee or any other extra fees she stated yes the $93 plus tax is still current. I truly expected to pay $102.30   I scheduled the appointment for Friday 6-5 after 3pm.

Ryan showed up and used a camera to see down the drain and did not see anything but I still requested him to snake the line which he did but he said because we used drain-o there would be an additional $125 charge. I said I did not agree with this because it was not disclosed to me when I requested the service call and the fact is that we have 11 people living in our home showering every day the drain-o would be gone from Wednesday but Ryan stated it was policy and showed my husband it on a form your office has.  Ryan snaked the drain and found the clog of hair and then charged us $239.80 which I paid with my visa.  About an hour later we received a follow up call from your office and I expressed the service was good but I was not happy with the additional charges considering I asked specifically about the charges several times.   We are a large family on budget and due to COVID-19 reduce work hours and incoming funds.   The person said she completely understood and would have a manager call me back.  I am just wondering when that manager will call back since it has been 5 days I thought I would ask.

I am not unhappy with the service but the fact that the fees were not disclosed to me when I repeatedly asked.  I really do not like the feeling of here is the cheap price to get into our home but once we are there you get hit with the larger fee.  This really leaves a bad taste in my mouth and will make me think twice before calling you again if I require further services.

I do not want to give a poor review on line but if I do not get a call back and some type of resolution then I will have no choice.

I have waited 7 days for a call back or an email and nothing, I am very upset because I truly believe what they did is wrong I asked for a price was told a price and it was double when they came out.

I really contemplated writing this review and did some research beforehand.  First let me say that this is the second time I used Harts.  Both times the service has been great.  The technicians are very professional and they communicated well about the status of the technician's arrival time. With that being said, I feel like they price gauged me after my most recent service in November, 2020.  I hired Harts to install a new toilet that I purchased and change the shut off valve.  My old toilet was randomly running and I was heading out of town so I was in a bind and needed this service before I left town.  I feel like I was robbed of $976.36!!!!  They charged $503.50 to replace the toilet which is way more than the actual cost of the toilet and $382.49 for replacement of the supply line and valve, also more than the cost of the toilet!  After getting quotes from other companies, the average cost for these services was $375.  Now if it isn't bad enough knowing that they severely overcharged for their services, they have the nerve to send me a thank you with a $50 gift card good toward my next service with them.  That doesn't even cover the tax on my last bill and I will definitely NOT hire Harts in the future unless they adjust their prices to be more competitive.

I am so thankful the other plumbers I called were booked. I had a massive leak somewhere between the water meter and my house. I called Hart's plumbing after seeing their reviews on Yelp. I was a little leery because all of the reviews were 5 stars, so the skeptical me thinks maybe all their friends gave them a shout-out.

Not the case! Richard (the owner) was here right on time. He immediately identified the source of the leak and gave me an estimate to not only fix my broken main water line, but also replace my leaking shower drain. He was super fast, professional and very knowledgeable. He was here and gone in three hours. VERY FAST! I also mentioned I needed to do something about my irrigation system because I thought the pressure might be too high. He threw on a pressure gauge at the irrigation valve, and it measured 110 lbs., way too high. He gave me advice on how to correct the problem. Nice, right?

I will definitely be referring Richard to others I know, and will use him again for sure. A good, honest plumber is as golden ans a good, honest mechanic. Nuff said...

Everyone so far has been friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the first person that took a look at the job never got back to me with an estimate after over a week. I had to call multiple times to check on it. They finally sent someone else out to look. The other guy that came out made up for the first guy. He had an estimate to me within 45 minutes of their visit.

We had two bathtub drain problems, one clogged one broken. They were so responsive, flexible and reasonably priced. The service was excellent! Had a text with a pic and bio of the service professional, Trevor, before arrival (wish everyone did this), had booties on his shoes and wrapped up two jobs in no time flat. He even had to grab a part but finished the job quick! I was impressed and would call them again for sure. Exceeded my expectations!

I want to start off by saying how nervous I've been about calling anyone to come look at our french drain as we have been having issues with proper draining.  After review of several Yelp businesses, I've decided to call Harts Plumbing & Excavation.  I'm so thankful I did!

Ryan Johnson is the technician that came out and he did an awesome job from start to finish.  He was able to assess my french drains and make several recommendations, including budget friendly options, which I really appreciate.  While assessing my french drain situation, I mentioned that I've also had issues with my washing machine draining as well.  He did not hesitate and offered to take a look even though it was not part of the initial call.  He was able to provide great recommendations for fixing this issue for us as well.

I felt at ease with the knowledge that Ryan was able to share, did not feel rushed or pressured into services.  I will definitely not only make sure to use Harts Plumbing & Excavation for any of my draining and plumbing needs, but will make sure to pass the referral onto others as its really difficult to find honest and reliable businesses that will not try to take advantage.

Thanks Ryan for a great experience with your company!

Hart it's pretty great. They have done two sewer inspections for me and replaced a waterline. Everyone was nice.  And the person who did the estimate was nice.  but the estimate that I received was horrible.  the lady said that it's what the computer generated.  I was quoted $540  to replace a thermal coupler on my hot water tank which is insane.  I got another estimate from another company (Anewhere plumbing) and it was a fraction of that price.  $140 to be exact.  I'm sure Hart's plumbing will do a good job, but it's not a fair price to pay for a job that take 30-45 minutes at the most.

Amazing service. They were really kind and on time and I really appreciated the bios and showing me who to be expecting at the door. The estimate for fixing my problem was too steep..but they were nice enough not to charge me a service fee. I've had other services out already, but hart's guess at what the problem was is honestly the only solution that ACTUALLY made sense. I believe they know what they're talking about!

Plumber was exceptional.  Could do without constant phone calls asking me if I'm still expecting them to come when we had an appointment.  I'm good with one reminder call the day before, but that is it.  Price is outrageous and a complete ripoff.  Will never call Harts Services again.  Other reviews have pointed out high prices and I can confirm from personal experience it is true.  I paid a handyman $50 to install a kitchen faucet a month or so ago and some other review said Harts charged them $800 for the same service.  I can only confirm that the estimate for the work I needed today was $800 and it took less than 30 minutes to do the work.

Late last year, I had another plumbing company come out to look at an issue of a backed up sewer line.  The came and cleaned the line, but the issue retuned again within a month and a half.  I  realized I needed to have a diagnosis of the problem, not simply what appeared to be a temporary solution.  So I looked at both Yelp and Angie's list for  another recommendation and found Hart's Plumbing and Excavation.

I was very pleased with first, the professionalism of Kaitlin who scheduled my appointment for later that day and then second Ryan who called to letting me know he was on his way, sending an email confirming he was on the way with a picture of the technician.

Ryan and I discussed the issue, he ran a camera down the line, discovered the problem and explained very clearly what was happening.  He provided an estimate of the work and the next steps.

I really appreciate this company and both verbal and written communication.  I received follow up emails every step of the way to document what he did and what needed to be done.

Many thanks to both Kaitlin and especially Ryan for reasonable costs as well as their professionalism.  I would definitely be a referral for them.

I just used Hart' s less than an hour ago. I'm beyond elated with the work just got done. Thank God it wasn't a big job, fairly easy and quick. I'm happy they have their cameras so I could really see what we were dealing with, makes me feel more confidant that it was done correctly. He was friendly, answered any questions we had. The cost of the job performed was well worth it. Living with no toilet or shower for just a day was pure torture. So right now with my toilet flushing feels like the joys you get on Christmas morning. Thank you Hart's Services for a job well done! I'd highly recommend them.

Harts Plumbing did an amazing job completing a very complex piece of work. They bored under my concrete slab driveway to run a new waterline to replace my old one. I had been through 4 different plumbers before these guys and nobody else really had an idea of how to solve my problem and everyone else wanted to destroy my driveway to fix the problem. Steven and Clint were the two guys they sent out, and they were phenomenal. I would recommend them to anyone. It's obvious they really care about doing a good job and taking care of their customers.

Good customer service, was on time and very professional. They even send you a email bio of the plumber coming so you know a little about them beforehand. I had a  broken drain in a tight crawl space that was damp from leak but Trevor knocked it out in no time. I had a stubborn clog that surfaced after the repair he also cleared it up. He even used foot socks when entering the house so the carpet would not get dirty.

Harts Service sent Steven back out today to clean out my main line. Everything seems to be working again. The mix up about the guarantee seems to be some confusion in communication on coverage. Scheduling a service was efficient and easy! Over the weekend, we had a leak in our water heater that flooded our carpet. We called on Sunday and were scheduled to have someone check it out on Monday at 8am. Although it wasn't exactly what we wanted to hear, it was the quickest and we were able to manage. The receptionist was very helpful. Before the service, we received a text about the team member that was being sent to check out the issue with our water heater. It told us a little bit about him and it was definitely unexpected, but awesome! Jason Lunda came to our house and he was super informative about the issue and the plumbing. He mentioned that we caught the leak in time before things got worse. So happy that he came out to help us with the issue. If we ever have another issue again(hoping we don't), we will definitely be calling Hart's Services, Jason L.!

Thanks Harts Plumbing for coming out early at 8am ,and on time, so i could make it to work by 10am. Richard came and unclogged my drain in the shower that had been giving me trouble for weeks. He was very quick to remove the gunk that built up from my natural bodycare products. He explained that the oils from my soap and scrubs over time creates a film that attaches to any hair that makes it down the drain. He suggested a few ways to limit the amount  of debree that goes down the drain and showed me the parts that were trapping the gunk. Richard was not only friendly, speedy and knowledgeable but he was clean too! I will definitely call back again for service in my home.

Ryan was awesome! He was punctual, quick, and he did a great job with the side sewer inspection on my duplex. Loved that he was very transparent about what he was doing and that I got to listen to him think out loud as he explained what he was seeing, which really helped me understand the condition of the side sewer. Steven was great during the initial walk through. We had a small leak in a water pipe that he looked at, but also talked about a few other projects on our list. One being a sewer relining; he scoped it for free while there. Just very easy going and kind. Also, very respectful of the house and my curious cats. He sent us a few estimates on the different projects we wanted so that we had an idea for the future. Day of the repair him and Trevor came in and got the leak fix in less than an hour. The estimate he gave was the price we paid! How awesome is that! Looking forward to working with this company in the future!

We have had a standing water problem at the foundation of our home and the suspicion was our storm drain system.  We called Hart's and they were very prompt at getting something scheduled for us.

Their staff was knowledgeable and didn't mind our many questions as we wanted to make sure we found the true culprit to our issue.  The entire job turned out to be a much larger undertaking than any of us expected as the digging and following the drain pipes continued.

Long story short, Thomas and Jeff did a great job of fixing our system and installing a new hose bib as well.  Furthermore, they took the time to clean up really well before they left.

We would certainly recommend them and this company to anyone with any water mitigation issues.

We have a very old house and the plumbing started to fail on us. Tim and Steven came out same day to flush out the clogged line and tried to spot fix the problem. Due to the age of the pipes it was decided we needed to replace the entire line due to the old lines just crumbling from erosion and age. This company has customer service figured out! We called Harts Services yesterday after our sewer system began back flowing into our home. Harts Services came out the very next day, and arrived promptly within their scheduled appointment window. Steven Shoopman, plumber, came to our Pierce County home this afternoon. Upon entry he used his boot covers to ensure my home stayed as clean as it was when he arrived, listened thoroughly when guided through our issues and concerns, and then began his inspection. Upon completion, he did a wonderful job ensuring my boyfriend and I completely understood the possible issues, clearly relayed to us our options, and went on his way! Steven, 10/10 from us! Promptly after our appointment, we were delighted to hear from the folks over at Harts Services to ensure our experience was indeed 10/10. Could not recommend a company more highly then Steven Shoopman and Harts Services!

I gave this company one star in order to tell you all the trouble, work and distress they have caused me.
We chose Harts based on their Yelp reputation to do a sewer line replacement  for a house we were buying.
Oh how I wish that was never the case!!!
I received the keys to the new house a few days after the work was done. I arrived at my new home excited to walk in but was quickly devastated by a flooded house. My husband and I worked quickly and sleeplessly for days... I had Harts back out to the house twice. The first time they just observed another plumber that was their and then left the next time when I asked for a owner to please come to the house.  He introduced himself as one of the owners and said let's see what's going on... I told him I had had other like businesses look at my problem and they all told me that my downspouts and storm drains were originally connected to the sewer line in 1955. Their is even a video that shows this. We have had multiple like companies view it and all say the same thing. That Harts was at fault for disconnecting this during the line replacement... this then left the water no where to go but in the house.... Harts not only insulted me when they were at my home but they left me with a major major problem that they as professionals should have addressed and spoke of before tearing my pipe line apart.  They have denied any wrong doing and told me that I would have to prove them wrong... if they were going to do anything to make the situation right.
They then said from the bottom of my 'Hart', this is not our fault
My neighbors who have lived on my street for 40+ yrs new of the connections and shared their knowledge as well.  Harts said that they were just speaking generically and dismissed anything I tried to share with them. Those neighbors have since also had their line scoped and theirs also shows the storm water line connecting to the sewer line from the left, something Harts said was impossible and that he (Harts owner) understood if my brain didn't think like his but that he was the one that new what he was talking about.
And I must also add that the cement work they did on my basement floor where they went in looks HORRIBLE!! Lumpy and completely uneven... they also dismissed anything I asked about that.
Harts has left me with a nightmare. They have devalued my home and cost me 1,000s over and above their high rate to begin with. I had no problem paying what they wanted in the beginning but I never new the true cost in the end would be total heartache.

I can not say enough how much I wish I never hired Harts to work on my home.
I hope this review saves someone else from their carless work and heartless services.

Ps I did have Harts back out twice and they had no interest in helping me with out getting thousands of more dollars. Don't let their response fool you.

We had to do a full sewer line replacement on our house in the North End of Tacoma.  We worked with Richard, the owner, who was very professional and did a great job!  We ended up going with the pipe bursting method and the job was done in a couple days.  Richard and his crew cleaned up the yard afterward and provided very friendly service.  We also had our bathtub drain snaked, which helped tremendously.  We always felt comfortable working with them and having them in the house.  We will definitely call them again for any possible plumbing issues, although our new sewer lines should last 50+ years!

Who do you go to when you need a particular home related issue fixed? To the company that did a great job the last time you had a similar problem. That's why I called Harts! And once again, the company sent someone who knew how to get the issue fixed. Chris is a true professional. Very attentive to my concerns, very appropriate in his responses, very thorough in his work. Have a plumbing issue and don't know who to call? Call Harts and let their professional staff take care of the issues.

Its been more than a few weeks since i hired Hart Services to assist me in not only choosing the right option for a sewer line replacement, but also properly completing this task. If you, like me, hate having humans in your home- and the idea of people just hanging about in your castle like home intrudes upon your personal introvert, ill say that this company will be a nice fit. The workers that came out, specifically Dylan, Tim, and Boen, were not only professional, but i did not have to field nosey questions about why my home is painted black, and why all the random taxidermy..ect. Just a few dudes doing their job exceptionally well. They made the proper changes on the fly, to make sure no items i had where they dug even had one molecule of water touch, and cleaned the workspace up as well. Im a cat lady, and i had no concern that one of my precious being would escape, for these guys made sure to one polite and close all doors behind them. Everyone was on time from start to finish. Normally i wouldnt drop this line, but i am also a service based small business owner, and i have high expectations on similar business and they exceeded my expectations. Also having to have a concrete patch on my floor turned into putting my cats paw prints in it.. so pretty much my favorite part of the basement now.

Ryan came by today to bid on some drainage work. He was very courteous and professional. He explained in adequate detail the work that would be done and gave me a quote during the visit. I have a few more bids on this coming in the next few days but I will feel 100% comfortable going with Harts if it ends up that way.

Very expensive. Technician wanted $150 plus to diagnose problem even though I told him what the problem was. When I asked what additional charges would be to fix the issue, he indicated the cost could be two or three times the diagnostic charge.

Recently we had a need for a plumber and because of the great reviews for Harts Plumbing I gave them a call.  I must say we were not disappointed ---they are by far the very best.  Stephen , our technician , arrived on time , was polite and so  respectful of our newly installed hardwood flooring!  Our plumbing problem was quickly resolved, and the Harts service charges are so reasonable!  Also, The office staff is exceptional--thank you Kaitlin and Erika!   Kaitlin scheduled us so quickly--plus called to let us know Steven was on his way and followed  up with a detailed report of work performed showing charges for each task.  Before leaving  Steven went over everything and it was wonderful to be able to pay with a swipe of my debit card.
Thank you so much ---Harts Plumbing & Evcatations card is now kept  on our refrigerator--and will definitely be the one we call for any future needs

Would have them back to do more work! It's owner operated. Richard, the owner, takes care of his customers, and his company.

I had a free warranty repair to be done by fast water heater. The showed up and wanted to charge my 425 to get my heater to code before the repair. From the moment I called I was treated with the upmost respect. Richard and Steven showed up to my house. I told him what needed to be done off my other quote with showing him the quote. He came back at 125. And explained why I should do these things. Not just it's because code like fast water heater did to me. Awesome company from the top to bottom.

Kelly C., When I called Harts Plumbing, they listened to my plumbing issues, they came to my home quickly, took a camera to my sewer line to see what's really going on, showed me where the problem areas are, educated me why the sewer line needs to be replaced. They gave me a fair bid for the sewer line replacement project. Harts didn't charge me for the camera inspection like some others did.
Richard came out with his crew, and equipment got right to work replacing the sewer line and they leveled dirt where they worked on the lawn and new gravel on my driveway and looks fantastic. They ended the job with thanks and left a smile and a good impression. Thank you Richard for your hard work.

I had a plumbing emergency yesterday and called all the plumbing services in my local area and no one was able to fit me in (until Sunday... this was Thursday) I called Harts Services and Devin was more than helpful and incredibly easy to talk to. She gave me all the information I needed, even emailed my property management company and carefully explained their process - which is the most organized, efficient and customer service friendly process I have ever dealt with when it comes to plumbing. She had Ethan out to my house by that afternoon and she updated me throughout the day of his expected arrival. Ethan removed my toilet and fixed the problem after testing everything and had me up and running in no time. The price was way less than I had expected for him having to deal with dirty toilet water shooting up at him. When he was finished he gave me some tips on some other things I needed looked at to prevent further issues on my kitchen sink (thank you!) and finally, my neighbors car wouldn't start and he kindly helped them push start it before he started his lengthy drive back home in the middle of rush hour. This was the best  and most painless experience I've had with any services in a long time. They will be my primary source for plumbing needs in the future and I highly recommend and will be requesting Ethan should I need services again.

Dan was great! Very knowledgeable.... I believe the estimate was on the high side but the customer service was top notch. Dan show me the product/piping they use to replace plumbing and how durable it is. I was impressed!! He also explained the whole process of replacing piping. It was worth discussing the estimate with my husband but ultimately it's not in our budget. I thought to leave a review because Dan was Great.

Incredible service, I've been hiring plumbers for 25 years and this is the best I've seen. Why? Immediate response to my inquiry. Immediate service to my home. Emails and text messages (with bios!) of who I could expect to see arriving. Complete explanation of the problem. Images and videos were sent to my email and texted if I wanted. They got everything working, fast. They called the next morning to make sure everything was still okay and that I was satisfied. No attempts to upsell me on additional services or expensive repairs. Their mantra of $93 or free was true. I'm very impressed. After getting quotes from other plumbers of $450, $550, and more, I was relieved to find Harts. Thank you, Harts!

They did a great job assisting me with a plumbing problem.  From the staff at the office to the Plummer that came to the house they were professional at every step.  I had a leak under the house and they were able to find and diagnose the problem as well as fix it.  The plummer explained exactly what was wrong on how it could be fixed, while showing pictures of the problems.  I'm a disabled veteran and was not able to crawl under the house, seeing the pictures helped me understand the problem.  Great service I recommend them for your plumbing needs.

Richard and his company were terrific! I called, immediately spoke to a nice dispatcher- she contacted the plumbers, and he was here within an hour. He was clear on his pricing and efficient. He snaked my pipes and got the blockage out right away! He left no mess and was extremely polite and efficient. If I had to, I would leave him in my house alone all day. He was obviously knowledgable and made the situation much less stressful. I highly recommend and even asked for extra cards for my friends!

This is the second time we have used Harts Services and we are just as happy from the first time.  This time, we had our water heater go out so I called Harts late Friday evening and they were able to send the next morning.  He gave me multiple quotes for options and we ended up having it repaired for now rather than replaced.  He was quick and stayed to make sure the pilot light was going to stay lit for us.  Their office is always kind and makes sure we are taken care of.  I also enjoy the text updates with pictures and info on who will be coming to my house.  Thanks again!

My first review on Google from October 2018:

We called Harts Services to get a second opinion estimate on a project we needed done.  The receptionist was great on the phone and answered all my questions and set up an appointment for only a day or two after.  We received a call the day of to get a time estimate when they would be arriving.  I got an email and text with a picture of our consultant and a brief bio about him so there was no mistaking who I would be letting in my house.  When Chris arrived, he was friendly, he and his partner put on boot covers so they didn't track anything in the house and they quickly put together an estimate.  I appreciated that they informed us of anything they saw might affect the price and the best options.  The estimate ended up being $1000 cheaper than the previous estimate we received from a different company.  Additionally, my husband and I were happy to hear the 5% military discount was not capped at a certain dollar amount as other companies and the initial fee was waived granted we utilized their service.  We happily used their services, and while they were unable to do the work the same day due to other emergency services, they came back the following day and completed the work and explained as they worked.  We will continue to use Harts Services in the future for any plumbing needs we have!

First time writing a review and I could write a novel about these guys and all the hard work did. Chris came out and found damage in my sewer line located in my neighbor's yard. Apparently we share a line to the street smh. Gene came back out the next day to dig and repair, after getting neighbor's approval. Service back up. Boom. While they had it dug up, Gene recommended installing a pipeliner from the damage spot to the house to reinforce our sewer line. After getting over the cost, we agreed. Btw their prices are more than fair.
Tim, Dylan, Joe came back out the next week to install the pipeliner and ran into some complications, but had plan b already in hand, pending my approval. Using trenchless pipe bursting technology they replaced my old sewer line with a solid new one. Those boys got it done. Kudos to the whole staff. Communication is great with the office too. You even get a text with a little bio and picture of the technician on the way. Happy camper over here. God bless!

Harts will be my go-to plumbing business from here on out.  In looking to buy a house, I had hired another company to do a sewer scope, but they were unable to get access.  Hart's motto is, When they say they can't, we say we can! and boy is that true!  From beginning to end, communication was excellent, the price much cheaper than the other company and I absolutely feel they were honest . . . and most importantly, they got the job done!  A big shout out to Ryan Johnson who was super friendly and patient.  If I ever have a plumbing problem in the future, I will be much more at ease knowing that I have Hart's to call on.  Thank You!

Scheduled a service call a couple weeks ago. The crew showed up early and seemed annoyed that I was holding them back. They made it clear that theyneededto get back so they could study for they journeymans exam. They proceeded to do an estimate. $640.00 +- to replace 2 ft of pipe under the home. I thought that was way to high and they said it would cost $89 for them to leave without repairs. The owner approved the cost of the repair and they proceeded.  I paid and they left. That day the tenant complained that their sink and dishwasher would not drain. I called another plumber to investigate and repair the blockage . The new plumber blamed the blockage on the previous repair. I don't have time to overpay for a simple repair and supervise the job. It should have been done properly the first time. Not happy.

We have a blocked storm drain in front of our house. I called Harts after checking Yelp reviews, as well as other consumer rating services. They were very responsive and arrived when they said they would. The technician was very knowledgeable and nice - two excellent traits. They ran a camera down the blocked line and quickly identified the problem. They are coming back in two days to fix the problem. Very happy with the service.

I used Hart's Plumbing after a Yelp inquiry.  I had a kitchen faucet with poor water flow.  I suspected a bad kitchen faucet.  Other plumbers quoted $400 on Yelp to replace a kitchen faucet.  Hart's proposed a $79 service fee that would be waived if I proceed with the work. Hart's diagnosed the problem as a bad faucet.  Harts replaced the faucet with a basic $100 kitchen faucet.  They were finished within an hour and charged me just over $500 including tax.  While not unhappy with the work, I found the $400 per hour labor cost excessive.

We had flooding in our basement due to burst pipe. I contacted Harts Services  about 4pm on a Friday afternoon. Chris & David came immediately that day. Chris was very accommodating.  He was going to come back on Monday to do the repairs but I was going out of town that weekend. So they stayed late to locate and fix the leak inside the house. We agreed on a schedule for the repairs outside that worked really well with my work schedule.  Chris & team (David & Jeff) did a wonderful job. They made sure that they clean up after the repairs. They were all patient and helpful. They answered all my questions and addressed my concerns. We were very pleased with the services we received. Customer Service is great as well (Nicole & Steve)! I had difficulty installing a new kitchen sink and needed the plumbing installed asap. I called three our four plumbers and Harts was the only one that could do it the same day. We had a clogged drain line. So, I map quested and Harts popped up closest. I believe supporting local is a good thing and wanted to give this business a try. We had a leak on a water main break along side a road.  We had it dug up and then hired Harts to come over to fix.  They did have to dig another foot down and dirt surrounding the pipe and cabling.  The work took about 4 hours but the cost was way more than it should have cost for an area that was mostly exposed and the work done well but they would not detail their costs for labor, time, and parts.  I would not hire them again due to costs and payment coercion.

This company goes above and beyond in service.  Wow!  It has been a very long time since I was so pleased with a business.  We had a minor issue come up on a home inspection while selling our home.  Not only did they come out to help diagnose the problem (in a very timely manner), they told us that there wasn't anything wrong with our drain and wrote a report for us to provide to the buyer.  Then, when the inspector still wasn't satisfied, Harts Service again came to our home and rechecked the problem to show the relator their really was no issue with the drain and nothing needed to be fixed at all.   Trevor and Richard were very polite and professional.  Highly recommend.

Wow ! My aunt is in her 70's and has been ill and hard of hearing and got taken advantage of by a company other than Harts the other day.  Prior company took several hours and 400 plus dollars .  I Yelped local sewer and drain experts and Ethan was sent out (with Kolbie his partner)  after I asked for him by name, Sabrina, in the call center,  made it happen for me.  She also did everything I asked of her in order to let me be the point of contact (  I used to work for a plumbing company for many years in CA where I currently reside ) .  I was able to be on the phone with them through the process.  He accessed it, after being clued in that I remember a belly is in the line, and got right to diagnosing.  He was well equipped with camera in tow, and all the experience to handle this problem.  It took less than an hour to clear and was extremely reasonable in price, approximately 100 dollars.  Follow up call from the office as well to see how the service went was immediate.  Amazing service.  Amazing people.  Thanks !

Hart's Plumbing was the second plumber we called to service our rental house. The first company came out to do a diagnostic evaluation, gave us a very expensive estimate, and then took several days to return our call to schedule an appointment. When I googled Hart's Plumbing and went to their website, the chat box came up and I was immediately met with someone who wanted to help remedy my problem. They quickly called me (on a Sunday) to schedule a non-emergent visit. Our schedules aligned for Ethan to come out today. We were sent a text message with his bio and a picture of him... how thoughtful! We knew when he would arrive and who he was. When he got there we were very impressed with his knowledge and his demeanor. He taught us a lot. He was honest, efficient, and had a great sense of humor. We've found our plumbing company that we will go to for any future needs. Thanks, Hart's Plumbing for a job well done. Thanks Ethan, it was so nice to meet you!

Harts responded the same day to fix my leaking washer hookups. Located in a second laundry in a walk-in basement closet, the leaking had been going on for some time without being noticed as it isn't used much, so the floor was soaked. When Ryan arrived at the promised time, he not only assessed the leak, but also checked the surrounding area for damage and let me know what I could do immediately to mitigate damage and start drying out the room - and then he helped with it. He was efficient, friendly, and went above and beyond in helping with the whole problem and not just the hookups. This is rare to find in a contractor (I've dealt with many) or even general customer service these days. Thanks to Ryan, I'll definitely use Harts for all future plumbing needs.

Richard and his company were a mind-ease yesterday! I had a leaky toilet with a pretty clear source of the leak (a bolt) and another plumbing company had quoted me an exorbitant amount to replace this bolt and put the fear of cracking the porcelain in me when I asked about merely tightening it. Richard was able to do just that -- tighten the bolt -- and with great consideration for his work, tested for further leaks 5-6 times before guaranteeing the stoppage with a year warranty. Sure, plumbers and labor are expensive for even small tasks but there's a range of reason and Harts was well within it!

I called Harts after searching through Yelp for highest ratings.  I  stood in my kitchen sink to hang a picture and you guessed it, down it came.  Must have been those 3 lbs. of M&Ms I ate during the holidays.  First I went to youtube and discovered there should have been clips attaching the sink to my granite and apparently the builder/previous owner never did this.  I decided I was not going to deal with it and that is when I called Harts.  Chris showed up on time  the next day and reaffirmed there were no clips and that the fittings had also not been done properly.  This did not surprise me as when I had my dishwasher serviced last year they said the same thing.   Chris went ahead and replaced the pea drain and adjusted a few other things and then re cemented the sink.  Inasmuch as it has to dry for 24 hours he will be returning tomorrow.  So far so good.  Thank you Chris.

We found a new reliable, honest plumbing company. First of all, we appreciated the fact that the office and repairman, Ryan kept us informed as to his estimated time of arrival. Ryan was very informative, professional and personable. He assessed the problem and then offered up advice on the cheapest, most logical way to fix the problem. He even encouraged my husband on how he could easily do the job himself and save us a lot of money. Now that is customer service!

We had Ryan out today for an estimate at a house we are looking to purchase. He was so helpful, and knowledgeable. He went above and beyond what I expected, and said he would give me a detailed estimate, so we wouldn't have any surprises. I was thankful for the time he spent looking over our plumbing and drainage issues. I haven't gotten our estimate back yet, but I can say it's definitely worth checking this company out. I've had a very good experience so far! If we end up buying the home, I'm sure this will be the company we use for our plumbing needs.

We scheduled Hart's Services to replace handles and valves on several showers in our home. When the technician, Chris, arrived, he said he could not replace two out of the three shower handles, because they were the wrong type. He ended up only replacing the shower handle and shower head in the master bathroom. During the course of the installation, the shower head was damaged and scratched. We were charged $650 for a half hour's worth of work, not to mention the damaged shower head. When we tried to use the shower later, we had no water pressure. When we looked at the installation guide for the shower head, we found that there was a flow restriction piece that was supposed to have been removed prior to installation, and it was never removed. I later called Hart's Services to express my concerns. I spoke to the scheduling coordinator, who said she was going to talk to the owner, and would call me back right away, or the first thing tomorrow. She never called. So, I called again late the next day, and the office lead called me back and said he wanted to make things right. I told him that at this point, it was a little late. The owner then called, and seemed genuinely concerned about resolving the situation. He ended up refunding my money, which I appreciated. Given their exceptional reviews, I imagine that they do often do you go to work, but unfortunately we did not have a good experience with them. I will say though that everyone I spoke with stated that they wanted to resolve the issue, and seemed to really mean it, and my money was refunded, so it wasn't all bad.

As a first time home buyer, the entire process was a bit overwhelming. We needed to have the pipes jetted, and Harts plumbing went above and beyond what I was expecting. They not only jetted my pipes, they also walked me through the layout of my house's plumbing and pointed out issues I might experience in the future and what to look for. I got information that will help me maintain my home and recommendations on where to buy and how to fix the old sump pump in the basement. Their friendly disposition and wealth of information took so much of the fear out of buying an old house. When I need any future repairs, Harts will be my go to plumbers!

Recently we discovered that we needed to have a sump pump system installed at our home. We called out Hart's Plumbing to give us an estimate to do the work. The staff was on time, and even gave us a call to let us know when they were on their way. Once Ryan arrived, he took the time to explain the storm water issue. He told us what could be done, how much the work would cost, and how long the project would take to complete. From the time Hart's Plumbing started the work to the completion of the project, Ryan kept us informed. During the process, part of our backyard path had to be torn up in order to dig the trench. I was impressed that Ryan took the additional time to reset that area of our flagstone path. Once the system was installed, Ryan showed us how it worked. He informed us on how to maintain it, and told us that he would be happy to come out if there were ever any problems. Hart's Plumbing were professional, and friendly. If you are ever in need of a plumber, don't hesitate to call Hart's Plumbing.
