We hired Exact Electric for a complete rewiring of our house almost a year ago and we're still waiting for them to remove the old outside parts. To update, the job has been completed.  To their credit, this company has an excellent office manager, Jasmine, who returns emails and calls immediately.  They do care about pleasing their clients and when the job is finished, you will be very satisfied.
Another update:  I called Exact Electric to install electrical grounding after the system was disconnected when plumbers replaced old pipes. I quickly received a call from Manager Eric who came over to plan for the job and explain what needed to be done. He didn't charge me anything for the inspection. Within a week, Tom, a top-notch Journeyman, came out to resplice the GEC system insuring complete grounding of our electricity circuits.

Exact came highly referred by our landscape installation company. The scheduling was easy and the electrician did good work but he was so very slow. 2 full days was excessive for the work. Replacing 5 basic Home Depot outdoor lights (no new wiring) and installing 2 new outdoor lights on my garage (new wiring into established garage wiring with a photo sensor) took 13 hours. In addition I had the electrician sleuth an issue with a can light that ended up taking 3 hours to learn there was no solution without tearing open the ceiling! So the end result was too much time for what I expected.

The outdoor lights look fine/good but I think about the unexpected cost each time I look at them. I would have appreciated a heads up when the electrician noticed things might take this long. Doing estimates ahead or during the work itself would also help set expectations. When I checked in with him during the day, he just said a few things about what he was doing and didn't indicate there were unique circumstances.

On the afternoon of 2 when I saw how long this was taking I contacted the office and asked for someone to review the work and timing before invoicing. I don't think anyone looked it over although I was sent a detailed summary of the work and charges.

I know electricians are highly skilled and when you need them you really need them but had no idea the final cost would be so high. 3 stars for the work completed and 3 stars for the pace and limited communication of expectations.

Exact Electric was responsive and thorough in their explanation of what they could provide, as well as a specific timeline.  While I already had engaged another company to do the work, I appreciated the detailed and professional information they were able to provide.  I definitely would consider them for future work.

It was the great reviews here on Yelp! that led me to contacting Exact Electric when our former electrical company informed me midway through a job that they would no longer be servicing residential clients.  With all of the new projects being built in Seattle it is difficult to find an electrician who is willing to take on the job.  Booking the appointment with Exact Electric was easy and after a waiting period for availability Andrew came out to install our ceiling fixtures.  He was conscientious and polite.  Highly recommend this company, especially for competence and reliability.

I'm VERY glad to have had that recommendation because Exact Electric's guy who came to do our job was outstanding! Ours was a complicated installation of a high voltage line from our breaker to the site of the new stove and required multiple trips up into our attic. He got the job done and, since we had him there, we also had him install a new ceiling light and our new Ring doorbell. All the jobs were done perfectly. The bill was a little high, but we were prepared for it and worth every cent! I MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND Exact Electric!

These guys are great. I had 3 quotes and they were the lowest, because they were not selling a package. They paid attention to what I needed and solved the problem in a creative, practical way. There were complications with my job involving the city that extended the job for months. I was not charged extra for all the additional time and energy. I particularly liked Eric Noice how was in charge of my project. If he tells you he has a photographic memory, believe him.

Electricians are super easy to take for granted...until you need one to fix your thermostat on Christmas Eve (good times), or install a hot tub (not a DIY affair), or put in some outlets on your patio so you can continue to live your best pandemic life outside your four walls.  Whatever your project is, Exact Electric will provide friendly, responsive, fairly priced service, and will treat you like a valued customer.

Due to delivery delays on the range, there were 4 total dates I had to schedule and then re-schedule, with not alot of days warning. These guys were patient with the process, showed up on schedule. Did a great job. Would use them again. Easier to get in touch with than some of the larger companies too.

Overall, Exact Electric was great. Their pricing was super reasonable, they worked quickly and got our project done fast and under budget.

They fell a little short on communication. Before they came out, we were told the office would call us back to confirm the date they'd arrive. We did not get a call and their arrival was a bit of a surprise.

We were also told that they'd be here during the inspection and that they'd call us and let us know when that would be. An inspector showed up unannounced, but luckily we were WFH and able to walk him through what had been done.

That being said, I would definitely use Exact Electric again!

Exact Electric is phenomenal. We were remodeling our above ground/ garage ourselves and wanted the professionals to come in for the electrical. Every part of the team was responsive, helpful, knowledgeable and genuinely nice to be around. The best part? You have a point person from the very beginning. This person is your contact for any issues and it makes everything so much easier. The team was also very respectful of COVID protocols, which we appreciated. The work was also reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

We had 4 lights and ceiling fan to reinstall after doing some soundproofing of our ceiling, which also dropped the ceiling an extra inch. We found another reputable electrician online. They came out and for some reason couldn't figure out how to reinstall everything. 4 hours later we told them to go home. After reading reviews we called Exact. It took about a month for our appointment because they are so busy, but when the did come their electrician handled the whole project seamlessly. While it took a while to get the appointment, it was well worth the wait. They've got my business for sure.

All of my clients, residential and commercial, love Exact Electric, and I got the chance to love them some more when they re-wired my condo!

A lot of buildings have challenges, and the building I live in is no exception. The professional and technical aspects of the job were challenging, running circuits in from the panel in the hallway for example, and Exact aced them; the social and security aspects of contractors coming in and out of the building are also challenging, and again - Exact aced them.

To me, Exact Electric is more than just the electrical contractor that I trust the most, they're also the contractor that I trust will leave a good impression on the neighbors, the property manager, and everyone who comes into contact with them. That's true professionalism!

We had a tripped breaker issue and Eric was able to troubleshoot the issue with us over the phone and talked us through everything. He was extremely patient and very helpful. Thank you to both Eric for and Zach for being so responsive, especially on a Saturday nonetheless. I will definitely call on them again for future electrical work.

The electrician arrived on time, quickly diagnosed the problem with the breaker box and solved the problem accordingly.  All work was professionally done.  Exact Electric provided an estimate with a reasonable hourly rate and an electronic contract. The whole process went smoothly. Highly recommended.

Cannot recommend Exact Electric, we feel like we've been scammed and overbilled.

I needed two GFCI outlets wired in our easy to access attic that already had powered boxes in the locations needed, we just wanted the outlets wired. We also wanted an exterior outlet added, and already had an energized line plumbed to the location and we provided our own exterior box.

It was an easy project that should have taken less than three hours on a bad day (verified by a second electrician after the work was performed). I was told it'd be fast and no trouble at all over the phone.

The day of our service appointment came, and the electrician arrived an hour late. No big deal, I'd planned to work from home that morning and wasn't in any particular hurry. But then we started running into trouble. The electrician was moving very slowly, with just shy of a dozen trips back and forth to his van. He didn't wire the outlets where I told him to, and so, the security camera power cables would not reach (he didn't put them where I'd already pre-measured, and didn't measure on his own) so he had to then re-mount and re-wire both outlets in the attic. This took over four hours. For two outlets with energized boxes right there. I came up to the attic to check on him several times and found him on his phone. Back and forth up the ladder multiple times... for two outlets (and I later noted he didn't use the GFCI outlets that I requested).

The exterior work also took far longer than it should have. All that was needed was for the box to be mounted to the house and connected. We provided the materials needed and an energized line was run in PVC directly to the location prior to the electricians arrival. That took an additional hour and a half.

All said and done, they charged us $764.46 total for what should have been less than 3 hours of work any way you looked at it. I immediately responded to the invoice via e-mail giving them a chance to make it right. They responded by cutting the project time from 6.5 hours to 3.5 hours (they didn't even argue), but when I looked, they'd changed the rate from $95 per hour to $150 per hour... leaving our now total at $602.80. When I asked that this be changed to the original rate given our trouble, I was told that is what it was going to be and that they'd forgot to add cost for materials (for the non-GFCI outlets I didn't ask for in the first place).

I know that contractors come at a premium right now in Seattle, but if you need help, you can do better. Exact Electric overbills and we feel like they tried to pull one over on us. Unfortunate, given I'd hired them for this small project prior to using them commercially.

We paid for our $602.80 outlets and consider it a lesson learned, we won't be back.

Finally, the story ends. It took 5 visits, multiple fixes on top of fixes, and a job that still does not match the quote, but the inspection finally passed (with changes to the permit to say they are ignoring part of the installation since it was not in scope). To be clear: this was a simple panel swap on a garage with exposed wires (as easy to reach / access / see as they come). The last electrician that came actually used the line The city of Seattle used to be pretty relaxed. Not anymore.. Considering the problems in question could be fire hazzards i was really not happy in hearing this downplaying of the problems.

Either way... I asked a rebate on the work provided given the amount of time i had to take off work for the multiple back and forths and was given a tiny one for the one (and only 1) extra piece of work i asked (split a circuit into 2) - which is why im keeping with my 2 stars review instead of flat out giving 1.

I will not be using exact again in the future and, as previously written, highly recommend folks to stay away.

They completed a panel replacement for us as well as a bathroom fan install and a few other small jobs. They were professional, courteous, and thorough in every detail. At the end of the job we walked the entire house and made sure everything was working correctly and that all my questions were answered.

We'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

They booked my appointment very quickly (none of that 'we can't even bother to open the book to see if we have time for your broken switch') and kept in touch on scheduling, pricing and change orders I put in. The electrician was prompt, professional, thorough.  I have an old house and will eventually need more work, and I will call them first. I would recommend them highly.

I feel it's is extremely hard to find a good and honest electrician. From the start to finish I was very impressed with Exact Electric. Odd at first to sign paperwork agreeing to a certain amount of work but it actually ended up being just fine. The service guy was super nice, very informative, clean and knowledgeable. He didn't seem to take the short cuts as people have in the past. My only issue now is my ceiling fan blows air up and not down. Not an Exact electric issue however I can't find the reverse switch. ‍ Guess I should have checked that before he left, I was just so excited to have it up.

Moving into a new (to us) house, we had a bucket-list of electrical issues that needed to be addressed, the largest of this being a Zinsco electric panel replacement. We got quotes from several other highly-rated companies in the area, and Exact Electric was very responsive to our queries, and actually came in with the lowest quote (all done from our inspection report). The electricians we had come out to perform this work were friendly, knowledgeable and respectful of our home and property. We were very happy with the quality of the work and the obvious pride the team takes in their labor.

I worked with Exact Electric to look into how much knob and tube was left in my 1941 home in Ballard. They also cleaned up some amateurish work that was done by previous owners in the attic (unhoused junction boxes). Throughout the whole process, from initial inquiry though invoicing, they were thorough in making sure I understood what work they were doing, how much it would cost, and what to expect. I'm really happy I went with Exact Electric.

This company came highly recommended to me by another electrician who was booked at the time we needed service. I contacted them along with a couple dozen other electrical contractors, and Exact were among the first to respond. Jasmine, who works in Operations, was incredibly responsive via email even during the holiday period - that made for a great first impression. She was able to get me scheduled for the morning after Christmas - a near miracle considering all the other contractors who got back to me were unwilling or unable to take on a new project at this time.

As for the project - we bought an outdoor barrel sauna that required the heater being hard-wired to its own breaker. Jasmine requested all the heater manuals and sauna installation guides over email in advance, and was able to get me an estimate without the inconvenience of an onsite visit. This also impressed me, as I believe that with adequate info and photos of the site a visit shouldn't be necessary for a project of this kind. Our home is pre-wired for a hottub, and there's an outdoor box with available slots for breakers within feet of the sauna location, so this was a pretty simple project for a skilled electrician.

The Exact tech showed up precisely on time the morning after Christmas, as expected. He was polite and professional. The job took about 4-5 hours total. Unfortunately the heater wasn't reaching peak temperature after the tech left, and we later learned that some mistakes had been made on both ends - the wires going into the breaker and the wires connecting to the terminal within the heater. However, I am not docking any stars from Exact for this. One, because everyone makes mistakes sometimes, we're all human and the world would be a better place if we could all be a bit more forgiving with one another. Two, because as soon as I flagged the issue to Exact, the manager of their residential business (Eric) called me directly to troubleshoot. He sent a different tech out the SAME DAY to inspect the wiring - and this tech quickly identified the issue and corrected it that day. He even stuck around until the sauna got to the right temp - this was extremely great service, especially considering this was New Years Eve (thank you Kyle!!). We were not charged for any of this additional time as they took responsibility for the issues without any argument on my part. I wish more businesses operated with this level of integrity!

All in all it was a fantastic customer service experience. Our sauna is fully operational now, months in advance of when any other electrical contractor could have done the job. I will be turning first to Exact Electric for all our future electrical needs, and strongly recommend them to anyone looking for a great electrician.

EXCELLENT service! I own a business in Seattle as well as a rental, so FINALLY finding a reliable electric company is crucial to me!
We had a power surge blow out a bunch of our electrical at my business. Exact came out next day to give us a quote, but told us they couldn't fit us in until mid-December. I cringed but booked the appointment anyway. A few days later, we were moved up to December 1st and I was thrilled! But then the next day, they called back and said they could fit us in the following day. WOOT!!
Our serviceman was Shane. He was FANTASTIC. His work was neat and tidy, and he made a few great suggestions for upgrading other things around my business.
I will definitely use these guys for every electrical issue I have in the future! They were reliable, their work was superb and very professional!

I had Exact Electric for a complete new a new service drop and a rewire of a 1928 house. I was mostly hands off for it, just left a key for them to go to work, they managed the permits and inspection with the city as well.

Fair pricing - good pricing even.

What I liked best is that when they were fishing wire through my house they didn't punch a bunch of unnecessary holes through my plaster walls. I even had another contractor ask who did the work because Exact didn't make a huge mess and was affordable (as affordable as electricians go).

Service was great and did a good install job.  Had three track light installations in condo unit, service was great and professional.  Labor costs are a little higher than I would have liked, so if you are looking for electrical, you should ensure that you shop around first.  However, I would recommend Exact for electrical services.

I needed help when I lost power in my bathroom and found Exact Electric on Yelp.  I called on a Monday and was able to schedule a service call for Friday.  Aubree, Justin, Eric - everyone was helpful, upfront and patient with me.  Ralph, the electrician, showed up on time, quickly diagnosed the problem, fixed it, and took the time to answer unrelated electrical questions.  I highly recommend Exact Electric and will use them again!

We've used Exact Electric three times. The first two were fantastic. This last experience left me a little disappointed. The electrician arrived on time and the job is now finished and everything is working well. So, from a technical perspective, everything was great.

However 99% of the work was done on the first day and it took weeks (literally) for someone to return to finish the last 1%. As a customer, I find this baffling and frustrating. Then yesterday I happened to be doing something in the area where they worked and I realized that there was still a hole from the outside where a conduit was put it. Basically, the hole is bigger than the conduit (which is fine), but the gap around the conduit was never sealed (which is not fine since it could allow pests into the house). I don't mind paying top dollar for services (which is what we paid) if they are top notch, but in this case the delays and lack of attention to detail simply weren't worth it.

We think they would have been great. Certainly pleasant enough on the phone. And even the work estimate arrived in a timely fashion at what seemed like a reasonable price. They missed the first appointment. Shame on them. But, things happen. We understand that and rescheduled. When they missed the arrival window for their second appointment, we called for an update. We were told they would be at our home in 30 minutes. 5 minutes later, phone rings, they wanted to re-schedule, again.

Fooled twice? Shame on us. No thanks. There are more reliable electric companies out there.

We had a light go bad at our entrance vestibule in the condo building. It is a safety issue because it's dark in the morning when we leave and dark at night when we get home.

An appointment was promptly scheduled, and I sent images of the fixture and the solar panel to ensure all the information was conveyed correctly.
They arrived on time for the appointment and had all of the parts needed to fix the problem within an hour.

The invoice was very detailed showing the charges for the parts and charge for labor. It was within the price we expected for prompt service and commercial parts.

Last night we lost power in half the house.  Scary because none of the breakers were tripped!  I have a number of friends in construction and home and interior design and had heard good things about Exact Electric from them.

This morning at breakfast with friends I mentioned my power woes and one of them said call Exact Electric.  An hour later Zach himself came by, dug around in our very full, very old panel, and found a loose neutral wire behind one of the breakers that had been slowly scorching till it finally failed.  Again, scary!

Glad he came.  Glad he found the problem.  Really glad he fixed it!

The dispatcher I called was courteous and prompt.  I was impressed that when his other crews were in the field the owner himself was concerned enough about my description of the situation that he came out himself.

So add me to the list of people with very nice things to say about the company, the service, and the owner.  I have to admit I've tended to rely on sort of cheapo brother-in-law-of-a-friend type electricians (and electricians) in the past.  And got the results I should have expected -- and fortunately didn't end up with a house fire.  If I need more work I'll call them back, and I'll have no problem at all recommending them to my friends.

The company is awesome!!  The crew were professional and took time to educate me about the system they put in my 1920's house.  I will continue to use them as I continue the restoration of my house.

Exact Electric did an absolutely outstanding job for me. Over the life of the floor heat which was installed in our new Sunroom in combination with our current kitchen 15 years ago, I have struggled for a solution that would not create problems every few years. Kyle help me do that and I am very grateful. He is very personable, hard-working, knows how to listen,  and has the knowledge and intelligence to figure out what is needed.

Over the years we've used Exact several times, most lately to install motion activated lights on the gable end of the house.  This took a lot of  crawling around in the attic but it all resulted in a very clean install, both on the outside of the house and the inside (!) where the electrician used a drop cloth and then cleaned up after himself really well.  Quality and careful work is what you want when it comes to electricity!

I had Exact add a 220v outlet for an additional wall oven and replace an older circuit box.  Aric figured out the way to get the new line into my kitchen without drilling holes into the walls. He and his assistance, Brandon, showed up exactly on time and worked as well as a team to get the work done efficiently and everything works perfectly. Pricing was very fair and I will definitely call them the next time I need electrical work.

If I had looked into my magic eight ball of a future several miserable years ago, I never would've guessed that an electrical contractor would be worthy of a 5-star review on Yelp, or that I'd be flaunting my sad nerdom to the world by giving an electrical contractor a Yelp review.

In an industry where the customer is given a mystery estimate over the phone ($$$/ for the first hour then $$ for every quarter hour after that, and the length of the job can be anywhere from 15 minutes to several days), Zach showed his professionalism by coming to the job site, going through everything in painstaking detail, then offering a detailed estimate that didn't increase after the job was done.  

Being a Master of Disaster, I have what is known as a disaster of an old house, complete with two-pronged outlets, exposed ugly conduits on the ceiling, fluorescent lighting, and little gnomes living inside the walls.  These are different from the gnomes I usually date, as the house gnomes' job is to cause temporary power fluctuations and weird sounds, like the house has just ingested a 12 oz steak, a bacon-cheddar smothered baked potato and a pound of laxatives and is about to blow a big one.  The electrician's job was to remove some of the outlets that no longer worked, rewire others to safety codes, and remove the ceiling conduits.

I had contacted the obligatory three companies to obtain bids and Zach appeared the most professional.  And by professional, I mean a serious clip board with serious picture taking of all the problem areas.  He then gave me the bid when he said he would AND his price was the most reasonable out of all of them.  

On the day of, Zach arrived with another worker, got the job done efficiently and left no garbage around and only very discrete holes in the wall (which are much more discrete than the ones I already had).

The bill came a little later - almost a month later (and I'd paid no deposit) - and customers are given the choice to pay online by a very efficient payment system.  And yesterday I EVEN GOT A THANK YOU CARD FROM EXACT ELECTRIC for giving them the job.  Besides my dentist, who sends me holiday and birthday cards, nobody else even acknowledges my existence in this way.  

Hurry now.  Go home and plug about 20 high-voltage electrical appliances into one socket with multiple extension cords, blow out your electrical panel, then call Zach.  Like me, he'll think you're an idiot for doing so, but he'll be glad for the business.

I was very happy with the services performed and very happy with the licensed electrician, Rob, who did the work.  I had had a long standing problem with one of the electrical circuits in my house and had attempted to address it on several occasions.  Rob described possible sources of the problem to me in great detail (which I really appreciate) and listened to my description of the history of the problem which he incorporated into the proposed solution.  The total price---a bit in excess of $200--was well below what I had expected to pay.
It did take several weeks to get Exact to my home, but they were very busy when I had called and I had told them when I scheduled that it was not an emergency.  I would definitely use Exact Electric again.

Not going to recommend this business to anyone! The work was estimated not over $100 on the phone, but the service guy came, fixed the problem, however, he did not have an additional switch plate with him at the moments so he called and let me know that he'll be there in 4 days to attach a switch plate!!!
I told him repeatedly that I can do that myself by simply going to a hardware store and buy one for $2.
He insisted that he should do it himself and its no bother. He showed up on Sunday, took him no more then 5min to attach the switch plate and I was charged

I have a rental unit and the thermostat went bad, call few places om yelp that was highly reviewed but never got a call back, finally one smaller business email me and referred me to exact electric. They book an appointment right away with my tenant and came out and replaced it. I will be going back to them for my other rentals.

I have had them out a second time--for some new outdoor outlets. They were (again) just excellent).  They new the codes and offered a better suggestion to address (my idea was not in code). Their idea was much better--and much less expensive than mine.

On time, friendly,  efficient, and good ideas.  Easily passed inspection. Good price.  Why call anyone else?  cc

I should mention, I had not yet moved into the house, and I was only there to meet them at the beginning. I rec'd regular updates, they were responsive to me, and my niece, who checked in periodically, felt they were very respectful to the property and our requests.

There reason for this is that I had been working with ERIC NOICE several times now and I had great experience, he is knowledgeable, patient and when it happened to have a sudden problem (i.e. power our for few days) he was extremely helpful to prioritize the work and get the job done. I am a homeowner living in Phinney.  I have done business with Zach for about five years now.  His business is local and he started out with only one truck.  Since I have known him, his business has grown, but I continue to get the same, high-quality service from Exact that I have come to expect.   I attribute his success to his strong work ethic, commitment to doing the job right the first time and to his honesty.

Let me give you specifics.  I have an old house.  I don't want to work with electricians that like to cut open walls without talking to me first and thinking things through.  We needed help installing a light fixture and adding outlets upstairs.  It was a tricky task.  Zach planned his approach and discussed it with me.  He ran romex through the attic and was careful to minimize cutting into walls.  Zach installed the outlets without a hitch.  The outlets have worked perfectly ever since and the light fixture he did for me looks terrific.  I like that Zach listened to me and my concerns before starting the work and that he explained his plan to me ahead of time.    He never tried to up-charge or up-sell me on anything.  I recommend him to you without reservation.

Zach and team helped our company on a commercial project for Kamiak High School. He was easily one of the top subcontractors onsite.

Top three things about Exact: their open communication, them working hard without having to be constantly followed up with/babysat, and their quality of work.

We ran into some challenges with special lights being long lead-time items, but Zach stayed on top of it and somehow got everything delivered and installed before school started.

Additionally, a different crew damaged some floor outlets. Zach and his guys charged for materials only, taking the time to fix/install new units on their own dime.

Exact is one of the main reasons this project turned out so well, and I'll use them again in a heartbeat.

These guys are very professional.  They also really go the extra mile.  They just installed a new wall heater for us and they were on time, quick sever and affordable.  They were very nice on the phone too.  

We called them just in time too our place is so much warmer now i wish we had called them sooner!

Eric troubleshooted our electrical problem and got the job done the best way possible and the safest.  No fast outside line outside on our siding.  Instead, an electrical cord had been hit with a nail when the house was built and it finally shorted was found by him- that could have been a fire inside the wall of our small attic area.  Now the line is all new and on the inside where it belongs, the switches all new, and the new attached outside light is shining.  Good to go~~~

An Update:
Shortly after my original review, I was contacted again by Exact Electric. They had seen my review and were very apologetic about the situation, knocking off more than half of the charges.  That doesn't alleviate the very disorganized set of responses that led the relatively simple job to taking over a month to get completed, but it does mean I don't feel overcharged anymore.  I'd be happy to use them for regular, somewhat complicated electric work in the future, but I do think for minor networking repairs, which they don't seem as prepared for, I'll be taking business elsewhere in the future.  

In any case, I do very much appreciate that they took the time to try to rectify the situation as much as possible once they found this review.

I hired Zach to run the data cables for my rental home.  He showed up when he said he would, got the job done, charged a fair price, and cleaned up after he finished working.  Oh, and he is super prompt with returning phone calls and emails, that is ESSENTIAL for me.  Not sure what more I could ask for in an electrician.  

I am also an interior designer and now happily refer him to my clients, and they have been happy, too.

The crew was on time and very clean. They did create a few more holes in the wall than I was anticipating and they do not (like most electricians) patch drywall. The project was completed on time and on budget. I had a panel upgrade which involved moving it so it was to code. (Old house, these things happen). The new hole they put the new panel in was several inches too big and it will be a pain to patch.

I'm updating this review after speaking with Chad, a manager at Exact Electric. After my calls to them yesterday, he let me know that he had originally made a note for them to comp my account for the invoice I had concerns about, and that the collection call to me was a mistake. He also asked how they could improve their service, and let me know that they have taken action to address some of my concerns, including using new project management software. I don't know if I'll use them in the future, but this response definitely improved my satisfaction level with them, and is better customer service than I've gotten from many other businesses after complaints.

I recently used Exact Electric to fix a couple of non functional outlets in my house before a move. They were prompt, professional and communicated well with me in the midst of my moving madness. They were great when I had to reschedule and let me know when they had to get parts and return again to replace them. I did this all while being in another state (Oregon) and they were great. My neighbor who let them in the house said positive things as well. A little spendy but worth it.

Zach helped us with an entire new commercial build out when we relocated our offices.  His attention to detail saved us thousands of dollars.  His crew was on time and met our incredibly difficult time line with a smile!

Since buying a new (read: century old) house in Ballard last year we have upgraded the electrical service to the house and wired our shed out back. On a friend's recommendation, we used Exact Electric for both projects and have been completely satisfied.

Exact's bids for both projects were as low or lower than any other we got, but the deciding point for us was the good reviews we'd heard about their work. They were responsive and helpful to us in figuring out what we needed to do for the project. They were also easy to scheduled, showed up on time and finished on time. It's amazing how important those things are and how hard it can be sometimes to find.

For both projects the work was done well and kept very tidy, with little extra cleanup or patching left for us to do afterward. Afterward I learned that our neighbor a couple houses down - a respected contractor - also uses and recommends Exact when he needs an electrician.

Not sure what we'll want to do next, but if we need electrical work we will definitely be calling Exact.

This work was done thoroughly with great attention to detail and my preferences. He arrived on time, gave me options to consider, cleaned up thoroughly, and made the space even more beautiful with the installation of a new bath light. My only wish is that I could have thanked him in person, since he left quietly.

I have always been impressed with the work and customer service that Zach and his team give, but today the team went above and beyond.  I had had smoke detector issues 2 years ago that Eric helped fix.  So this morning when two of them started bleeping and one wouldn't stop, I called Exact Electric.  Even though Eric has moved on to working on the sales team, he took time out if his day to help me troubleshoot what was going on.  It ended up being a sneaky extra smoke detector hiding on the windowsill, but the fact that he took the time to help me - even though it's not part of his official job - shows you the dedication and care they all bring to their work.  Thanks again, Eric, for being there to help me this morning!!!

After I posted my review, I heard from Exact Electric, and they sent someone over that afternoon. That fix ended up not solving the problem, and we were faced with not having electricity to our refrigerator over the weekend with guests in town. I contacted the electrician who had come on Wednesday, and he came on Saturday morning to provide a temporary fix until he could come back with a permanent fix. I requested the temporary fix because I didn't have time for him to investigate while my guests were in town.  Later in the week, I called and another electrician came out with a different solution, which seems to be working. Overall, I would probably use them again but I do wish they would improve their communications.

Exact Electric did a fine job adding a few electrical sockets to my condo. Due to illness of an electrician and a couple of unforeseen circumstances they showed up a couple of hours late, which made the coordination with other contractors difficult. And, the electricians hadn't reviewed the diagrams I sent in advance. However, the company worked very hard to get the job done as quickly as possible and they were quite apologetic. Jennifer in the office and Rich, the electrician who did most of the work were very responsive and did their best to get it right in the end. I would use them again and I recommend Exact Electric.

What I love about Exact Electric is that they have enough employees to get the job done, but not so many that their service doesn't still feel local and personalized.  They've done lots of jobs for different people that I've worked with over the years and everyone I talk to has been nothing but satisfied.  Their owner, Zach, is amazing and professional, as well as just an all-around good guy.

Exact electric was recommended by another highly rated electrician in the area. They came for an estimate in a timely manner and after the contract was signed started a week later. After talking with Eric, who was the foreman for the project, and telling him I liked to huddle each day for any issues that have come up it was a very pleasant experience. He did a great job explaining why and what had to happen to make sure the electrical update was successful.
By the way- my house is 104 yrs old and was per his words a 11 out of 10 for difficulty in updating.
He told me each day he was leaving so I could bring my kids back and was available by texts during the entire day. They wanted us to be very satisfied and it showed.
Will use them again for any big electrical needs.

Charged more than quoted.  A quick trip to have a look at grounding in my home music studio (zero labor done).  Was billed for additional labor despite short visit and zero repair. Grounding issue remains.  Technician was nice and on-time but not knowledgeable enough to resolve or properly explain problem. My outlet shows an open ground still, my grounding noise issues remain with no solution and $232 down the drain.

The people at Exact Electric care.  They care about their quotes, timeliness, and customer service.  I'd be happy to recommend Exact!

Shane from Exact Electric came out to trouble shoot and repair an antique chandelier and a wall switch that kept shorting out. He came on the heels of an electrician who did not do a high quality of work, and the difference was quite clear.  I have no doubt that things are now up to code and won't continue to short out and stop working. It's always a comfort to know that someone who is good at what they do has worked on the house.
While Shane was here, the flooring guys showed up and the owner of that company said that he often recommends Exact Electric to customers.

Update: Another person was here from Exact Electric, I think it was Eric, about a week ago. He was on time, very pleasant and was able to trouble shoot quickly. Just a word to other customers (and maybe the owner of Exact Electric)...when prices are set for skilled trades people, ie, $75 for the first fifteen minutes, then $75 for each half hour thereafter, it doesn't seem quite fair to have the customer charged for the time it takes for the electrician to write up their report. That's clerical work and should be billed as such. In my opinion, it should be part of the cost of doing business not a customer charge.
Having said that, I would call them again because I do believe their electricians are very competent.

We use Exact Electric at our commercial building in down town Seattle!!!  They are always on time, on budget, clean and I truly can't say enough about their services.  They will always be the one and only Electrician we use!

I had a bizarre electrical incident where the power line to my house had its strain relief break (City Light's fault) and the neutral line was pulled right out of the meter base.  I called the top two Yelp rated electricians.  One never called back-ever-and Exact actually answered their phone with a real human!  They sent Chris over as soon as possible and he diagnosed what was a very unusual and puzzling problem.  Once we figured it out, City Light told me they would restore power.  Needless to say, they did not, and I had to call Chris back-virtually after hours on his wife's birthday-to come and complete the job.
I cannot say enough about his professional approach and great attitude.  They really came through, individually and as a company.  They are one of the best small businesses I have worked with in several years!

I know Exact Electric to be a top notch electrical firm.  Everytime I have worked with them on a project, their work is clean, up to par and done well.  I know nothing about electrical, so I feel at ease when Zach and his team are taking care of things on the job.  You know it is going to be executed properly from rough in, to finish.  Zach the owner is a really good guy and KNOWS his stuff.  Highly recommend these guys!

My renters requested a thermostat be installed in our house for better efficiency.  We were happy to comply and when I contacted Exact Electric, I got great service.  Trina, who I corresponded with via email, was always super responsive to any questions/concerns I had.  My renters reported being happy with the work and the product...happy renters = happy landlords!  We even got a thank you card....who does that?  They do.   I highly recommend using Exact Electric, you will be glad you did!

Exact Electric did all the work for my new business and I couldn't be happier. As with any startup projects, there are many glitches and changes that need to be made, and Zach and his team tackled all of them without any delays or problems. They were professional, clean and  timely. I would highly recommend Zach and his team for any electrical needs!

I am a general contractor in Seattle for 19 years. Exact Electric is the best electrical contractor I have ever used. They show up on time, do a professional job, clean up after themselves, and most importantly don't nickel and dime me. Some companies low ball the bid to get the job, then add extras to pad the bill, Exact Electric have never done that to me, or my customers. I highly recommend Exact Eectric.

Ultimately, the work done was fabulous. We needed a large amount of assorted work done on our newly-purchased home (ceiling fan install, GFCI updates on lights, fixing up exposed wires, breaker update and inspections, entryway light fixture change-out, moving/installing outdoor electrical outlets and adding switches, install outlets, install light timers, fixing outlets with reverse-polarity, among other small tasks). All the work was solid & up to code, & a follow up call was addressed quickly & appropriately. Getting the electrician scheduled was hard; there were numerous cancellations & rescheduling, not showing up on time, & the delays & number of separate appointments I had to make (6+) made things frustrating as a customer. I wish that I was proactively updated on arrival changes. Overall, my issues were clerical. It was hard when they did not show up on time (and not calling to inform me; I had to call the main number to find out when they would be arriving for an 8 am appointment), especially since the electrical work was located at different locations around the house...and I didn't know if I could use the kitchen or do laundry, since I knew they would have to cut the power at different times. While the work was great, I had issues with so many appointments and having to reschedule and wait around for them to show up, etc., in addition to not being proactively informed about scheduling changes. I would still recommend them, but I would advise you to be flexible in your availability and be prepared to call for updates if you want to make any plans around their scheduled appointments.

Maybe we were just a fluke or maybe these reviews are written by employees(!), I don't know, but Exact has no sense of time and piss poor communication. Scheduled a couple different appointments, Zach blew off the first, was 45min late for the second. They were supposed to start work one day, didn't start till the next, thus holding up other trades. Held off installing key circuits for a heat pump so mechanical contractors could not finish and WE WERE FORCED TO GO WITHOUT HEAT. All when a little communication and planning from Exact would have changed everything. Inexcusable for a professional contractor. Electricians are a dime a dozen these days, there is no reason to spend your money with these people when there are so many qualified and service oriented companies.

TL;DR, Fuck Exact Electric.

We were very happy with the work they did installing new lights and outlets in our home. They were very responsive over the phone. Of the electricians we looked at, they had the lowest bid. The work looked exactly like what we asked them to do. They didn't make too much of a mess -- I was expecting they would have to remove a lot more drywall than they did. I would gladly use them again.

Zach was able to not only answer my electrical questions, but help me in coming up with a feasible solution at reasonable rates and 5 star customer service! My hats off to exact electric!

Zach did a small electrical job at my house at a moments notice.  I called one day and he was there the very next day.  He was on time and completed the project timely.  Zach works very fast and efficiently.  He was a nice guy and very easy to work with.  I would definitely use him again.

I would recommend Exact Electric and will use them in the future (putting in a new bathroom). They did some exterior work for us a few years ago, and I was satisfied, recalling now that the work was done in a timely manner and the electrician informative. Last fall, I had a guy come out to finish a project a 'handyman' had started and to check on the safety of that job. As an existing customer (three years later), he was out within a week. He could've been faster - I offered him a coffee! - but he did a thorough job. In June, I was finishing my attic simply for storage and the old knob and tube wiring was running all over the top of the joists where I wanted to lay plywood flooring. Exact Electric came out but couldn't do much because they would have to do the work to code and I didn't want to pay for that. So, the guy just bundled the wires for me, checked the safety of the wiring and left. It was $150 - the minimum for a call. I then found that in the bundling, he must have pulled something loose because some outlets hooked into the k&t no longer worked. I contacted Exact Electric and they sent someone out who did a very thorough job, fixed the problem, was very informative. He was at the house for two hours. I paid the initial $150, but the second call was under their warranty and no charge. My feeling is this; In the Seattle building market now, there is a shortage of skilled labor, companies are over-booking and maybe bringing on less-than-expert temporary help, both on the job and in the office. Small jobs - ours, as homeowners and not general contractors - get the short end. My neighbor had booked a new deck project last fall to start in May or June, and in July the contractor finally said he wont get to it at all. Very common occuran=ce. So I accept that. With Exact Electric, I find them to be honest, proactive in communicating, and make things right when problems arise. There is value in that to me.

We've been pleased to use Zach's services on two projects on our hundred-year-old Craftsman in Queen Anne. One was a bigger project - moving the incoming mast and electrical box from the rear to the front of the house, and another was a whole list of repairs that just needed to be done. Zack and his team did great work both times. Since my husband is an Electrical Engineer, we can be a bit fussy as to how the work is done. Zach's worked passed with flying colors from both my husband and the building inspector perspective. We look forward to seeing Zach again in the near future, to have him help us with another list of repairs.

I purchased a small solar kit for learning & emergency purposes. It was marketed as a DIY sort of project and I hired a general contractor to install it. Big mistake. Turns out the guy didn't really know what he was doing--and I didn't know enough to know that. After a couple of months and the system still wasn't working he blamed non-function on faulty kit components, which I had replaced. Still no go.

So over the next couple of months I called solar techs and electricians to take a look. One of these guys said the system was shorted out and needed to be replaced (!!). Another, from a solar company, thought it might be a botched wiring problem but didn't seem interested in actually fixing it and he referred me elsewhere. It was difficult to find someone to take on my little project, much less someone knowledgeable and willing to actually discover and repair the problem.

Zach from Exact Electric is the man I wish I had called at the beginning of this project. He got out the ladder, crawled up on my garage roof then removed the two solar panels from the frame. After examining each connection he found that the problem was a simple reverse wiring that was canceling out the charge. Within an hour the sun was charging my batteries, it was so cool!  I plan to work w/Zach in the future to make the system more safe and secure overall. Professional, knowledgeable, high standards for quality and safety --he's got my highest recommendation.

This electric company is wonderful!  I had an older house to sell that I needed a lot of work as part of the work order request from my buyer.  Zach, the owner, was quick to come out to the house, and was quick to give me the estimate.  He spent TWO HOURS going through all the items I was asked to fix by the buyer, and as part of that 2 hours, even went up into the attic.  He was the 1st of the 3 estimates I received, and he was by far, the most thorough, hands down.  (the other estimators only spend maybe 15 minutes on my very long list.  On top of that, they were much higher priced.)

Once I told him I wanted to hire his company, I had a few further questions I asked of him via e-mail.  He answered all of my questions, putting his answers in red, so his answers would stand out.

Any time I called the company, I always got a live, friendly person, never an answering machine or voicemail.  I liked that personal service touch.

The company worked with my work schedule and my closing date so I could see part of the work being performed.  I had communications with the actual technicians at the house, and they were thorough and very kind.

Zach had a 1 year warranty, which I asked him if he would transfer it to the new owners, and he agreed.

We had a glitch with their phone near the end of the work, which ended up being a Comcast issue.  The e-mail I received from Beth, one of their office workers, whereby she gave me her personal phone in case the company number didn't work.  Wow, now that is dedication.

Once I needed to have the inspector come out, Beth even agreed to meet the inspector at the house, and let him in, since I worked up in Everett, as a convenience to me, since their company was just a few miles away.  Boy, this company goes the extra mile!

I paid what the estimate said, and not a penny more.

I would hire this company again, in a heartbeat.  They are excellent, all the way around.

Zach and his team did a complete electrical rewiring of my home in Ballard, Seattle. His price was very competitive, and the work was done on time. I was delighted by how careful his team was about making as few holes as possible in walls to feed wires through. The work was of very high quality. They are electrical experts. I would definitely hire him again.

Zach, the owner of Exact Electric, did a fabulous job with upgrading the electrical in my 1928 Seattle home. I chose Zach because of the great reviews here, and he definitely lived up to his reputation.

One of the tasks was to upgrade the stairway light to two 3-way switches (one downstairs, one upstairs). After we settled on a price, Zach suggested that a third switch be added (one downstairs, two upstairs), and did this for no additional charge. He also installed extra outlets in the hallway at no additional change. All of this was done with very minimal holes in the walls.

Zach was very flexible setting up appointments. I was having my bathroom remodeled, and due to scheduling of the other contractors, the electrical needed to be done over the weekend. I called Zach and explained the situation, and he was able to complete the bathroom work that Saturday.

Overall I found Zach to be flexible and easy to work with. He is confident, creative (minimal holes in wall), and very skillful. I'm very happy with the work that he did.

I would highly recommend Zach, especially with older homes that may require some tricky and creative wire routing.

This company is great.  They showed up when they said they would, stuck to the estimate, even though the work turned out to be more complicated than they originally thought.  Very pleasant, hard working and professional stuff.  I would definitely use them again for any electrical work we have in the house.

Needed a new grounded outlet installed to accomodate a washing machine.  Zach was busy, but able to fit me in on short notice and even brought a dolley needed to move the machine out of the way for the install.  Thanks for the great work! I would definitely recommend Zach and his team.

I cannot thank Zach, Kelly, Mike & Paul enough for their immediate response to my electrical dilemma!  Zach, Kelly & Mike were very courteous over the phone (they actually answered their phones, which I can tell you half the companies I called before I called Exact did not do!) & promptly called me back as promised.  They went out of their way to quickly find someone on their team to do the job. It took me longer calling through the list of Electricians friends had referred/on Yelp trying to find someone who could come out on such short notice than it took Paul to show up! Extra thanks to Paul for coming out the afternoon before Thanksgiving to my rental property in South Park to fix a broken insulator bracket on the roof due to some new power lines that Seattle City Light ran a little too taut! My renter & I could enjoy our holiday weekends not worrying that the roof might catch on fire!  I have many eventual upgrades I'd like to make on this old house & I know who to call for any future electrical work!  What an amazing, efficient, nice group of professionals!

We just recently finished an addition to our home. Exact electric was very helpful. These guys know what they are doing. they have kind of a big team and were able to finish the job fast and it turned out good.

I called to request an estimate since they were rated so highly. Its been 3 or 4 days, and I still have not even heard from them. They could at least mention that they would not have time right now.

I've used Exact Electric a few times over the last 3 years to do work on my Mapleleaf/Greenlake area house.  From replacing the old knob and tube, to running a new line to a new panel out in my garage.  I'll use his company again.  All of the other outfits wanted to replace all of my switch & receptacle boxes when doing the rewire, which would have meant a lot more mess and drywall repair expense (I have old plaster and lath walls)... Zach was the only guy that said he could pull new line into the older metal boxes... and he did what he said, which I really appreciated.  Unlike many of the other outfits, I never feel like he is trying to up-sell many stuff I don't need, but just tells it like it is.  Thanks Zach.

I had a very urgent need for an electrician for a project - and I checked several sources - not having a recommendation for one - I decided Yelp gave me more information I needed, so decided to call Exact Electric.  From the person answering the phone to the technician/electrician that came out - they were incredible.  I was beyond impressed with the efficiency timeliness and project completion. . . HIGHLY recommend them.

Zach is a stand-up guy.  He backs up his work and will go above and beyond to make sure his customers are satisfied.  The only reason I did not go to 5 stars is that one of his workers told me he would need to make two little holes in the wall to fix a hallway light that was not working.  He basically ripped the wall apart.  I would not have authorized the repaid had I known.  I contacted Zach who footed the bill the repair the wall himself.  He came out to our house at night, weekends - whenever we needed him.  I do recommend Exact to anyone that needs electrical work done.  Just be sure to ask the extent of the damage that may be caused as a result of the repairs.

I found Exact Electric via Yelp, and called them to assist with an issue at a rental property I own.  The scheduler was very friendly and helpful, managing to get someone out to the unit that same day.  The tenants told me that they were efficient and thorough, and took the time to make sure they identified and corrected the problem.  When I received the bill I was pleasantly surprised to find the price reasonable, and no additional charges tacked on for last-minute service or extras that weren't necessary.  My take on them is that they're honest, competent and friendly.  That's really all you can ask in a service provider!

As a flooring contractor I had the opportunity to use Exact Electric when I had a recent electrical emergency on a project.  I called Exact Electric on a Sunday afternoon and Zach was out at the job within a couple of hours.  Zach was able to diagnose and correct the problem in a timely manner, saving us from any major delays.  Exact Electric is professional, responsive, reliable and they do great work.  I highly recommend Exact Electric for any electrical needs you might have.

I first hired Zach to do some relatively minor work at our home. Subsequently he has worked on our two commercial buildings and our rental house (complete re-wire). In all cases I have found him to be responsive, prompt, professional, highly skilled, and reasonably priced. He does what he says he will do and does it better than any other electrician in my experience. I wish Zach would branch out into plumbing, carpentry, insulation, etc. I would hire him without hesitation as everything he does is done exceedingly well!

Upfront I have not had Exact Electric on any job for me.  He has done work for my family and I have seen their work.  Zach is a top notch owner and electrician.  When I need wiring done I will hire him in a heart beat.  I look forward to using Exact Electric.

Our office had a leak from the apartments above damaging our lights, tiles and floors. Zach fixed our lights that day. He was quick and courteous. We would not hesitate to call Exact Electric in the future.

The electric baseboard heater in a small bathroom worked fine for ten years then started turning itself off before the room was heated to the desired temperature.  One electrician told me that the problem was dust on the heat coils so he cleaned the unit but the problem continued.  Zach came out on short notice, assessed the situation and determined that the problem was the heater, not the control switch.  One day later I've got a new heater that works perfectly.  I was impressed with Zach's expertise and his efficiency.  I plan to hire him again.

Zach did a great job diagnosing a circuit problem and doing some quick rewiring in our box.  I was impressed with his ability to fit us in on short notice and he was easy to work with.  I plan to hire him again.

Zach did a small job for one of my rentals and he was professional, quick, and I will surely call him again.

estimator came out.  didn't have a business card.   decent enough guy, assessed project- old home conversion.  left without giving me a confirmation he would get back to me( I should have said something!).  a week later, he - they- still never quoted me a price or an idea of what the project would cost.    I called two days later, I was told they would be in touch.  two days later, still nothing.   going on 5 days now, still no contact from Exact.  got good ratings, but pretty disappointed.

Exact Electric is fabulous. The owner and crew members are meticulous in their work and interact very well with clients.  Exact puts the clients needs foremost.  As a general contractor I use Exact regularly.  My clients inevitably use Exact on later jobs. Exact's rates are fair. They don't lowball then encourage change orders to make up the difference.  In short the words Caring, Honest, Hard Working, and Professional characterize Zach and his team.
