UPDATE: Marc Gartin, owner of C&R Electric, called me today and we spoke for half an hour. He was apologetic about the errors and disrespect. I believe he really heard what I had to say.
Review of C&R Electric
* I would not recommend C&R Electric, Inc.
* C&R installed a new electrical panel in my 72-year-old house on April 7, 2022.
* They were sloppy, dismissive and disrespectful. Their communication and project management were almost non-existent.
* Their cocky, young electrician placed attachments into my brand new roof in such a way that would have quickly caused a leak, and it required immediate repair by the roofing company.

* They didn't warn me in advance that I'd be left with a 3 ft. x 1 ft. hole in my wall, requiring carpentry repair.
* I received no statement of any sort of warranty for workmanship or materials.
I deducted the cost of the roof repair from the amount that I paid them.

The weather cap on our service mast (where electricity line comes into the house) had blown off.

Too tricky to get on the roof and put it back on. Plus, rainy weather was approaching and we didn't want water to come into the roof/attic through the open and exposed service mast. Finally, a nuisance job: too small to be a big paying priority for most businesses.

Everyone is super busy these days.

C&R fit me in in one day!!! Came out. Put it back on.

Very responsive. Very fair. Good quality service.

C & R Electric replaced my recalled fusebox, installed few gcfi outlets in both my house and my garage. They were professional and prompt when doing my work. They also explained what they were doing and why, which I appreciated. They are also local to my area and I feel confident that they know what they are doing when it comes to permitting for this area. Todd, the manager at C&R Electric was so helpful and professional, and really took the time to help me figure out what was going on with my electrical situation at my home. He took the time to answer all my questions and was genuinely interested in helping me with my situation. In discussing my situation on the phone, we came to the conclusion that there were things I could do before calling out an electrician, but if I ever need an electrician to come out to my home in the future, I will not hesitate to call Todd at C&R Electric. This business is top notch and has excellent customer service!

I called C&R electric on July 7th and spoke to Mark about my garbage disposal circuit problem. Mark walked me through the troubleshooting steps and helped me fixed the problem without a charge. C&R is fantastic! We were putting in a new cooktop and vent and needed an outlet wired for the vent. There was no easy way to get it wired, but Ron figured out a way. Then the appliance dealer came, took out the old cooktop, and then told us our power supply wasn't adequate, we needed to wire in a higher-amp breaker. Todd, at C&R, managed to squeeze us into the schedule. Wayne came out, solved a very difficult wiring problem, Todd came over to help pull a wire, and we were good to go. Great people, great service, quality work.

We called friends and neighbors around Burien asking if they had a reference for a good electrician. To our surprise nobody did. So we gave our most local of businesses, C & R, a shot. Cold calling any business (especially when it comes to working on utilities) can be daunting. But now we have our forever electrician who we will be recommending to everyone we know.

Ron knocked it outta the park. Super friendly and personable but 100% professional; he did the work quickly and with total proficiency. He checked every single customer service box and then some. We were blown away.

If you are in King County and especially on the south end, the company you want to call is C & R Electric Inc. There's a reason they've been at it for over 50 years.

The gentleman who answered the phone at C&R quickly walked me through solving a simple problem, saving me two weeks without kitchen lights and the 250.00 diagnostic fee two other companies were going to charge for just coming out in no sooner than 10 days. Since the circuit feeds my kitchen lights, I thought I'd try calling one more company, and I'm so glad I did and that it was C&R Electric.

I have yet to hear from several of the other companies, and one won't take calls or messages from new clients--you have to have access to their web page, which I do, but not everyone does. The other two companies were very nice to talk to, but I gave them the same information I gave the man at C&R, and only he was able to offer a suggestion.

So, bonus customer service points for answering the phone and making a suggestion, but also for not making me feel silly for failing to think of it myself. I'll definitely call C&R Electric first next time I need an electrician!

Best experience having my salons lighting replaced this morning. They worked with me on a time of day, as my schedule is a bit weird-
In 40mins the technician replaced everything, was super nice and cleaned up after. The fixtures that I had put in were sight unseen, as I let them choose what they thought would be best- and they are perfect.

The scope of work was upgrading a 100 amp Zinsco panel, new grounding, new meter base, new conduit, and mast.

I vetted 6 electric companies and chose C&R to do the work as they were the most responsive, transparent, and easiest to work with. They listened to all concerns and made accommodations without hesitation. I would do business with C&R again.

We have done remodeling in our basement last fall and upstairs this spring in our house that was built in 1960. C&R Electric checked all outlets and upgraded to 3-prong and GFI where needed. They also wired in additional outlets in the basement and a new outlet in the kitchen for a microwave above the oven. They also fixed a couple of outlets that were damaged or installed incorrectly. They also installed a junction box for the new cooktop. They were always on time, very professional, worked efficiently, and cleaned up after themselves. We would definitely call them again if we need future electrical work.

Absolutely the best! We used them to re-wire a 1950s house that was all knob and tube. We bid the job with multiple contractors and C&R was the best for the job on paper, and definitely showed why they were the best when finished. Todd in the office and Wayne on the job site really went above and beyond to make sure every detail was addressed. With sections of wall and ceiling requiring removal to get the rewire done, they really finished the job with surgical precision and very little wall/ceiling removal. Going into this with no idea what to expect, C&R made this entire process painless and left us with a freshly re-wired home that is safe to sleep in and ready to use!

Five stars to C & R for helping me with my problem right over the phone. My outlet in the master bath went out suddenly. There are no reset outlets in the master bath or in the master bedroom and I already tried resetting the circuit breakers from the breaker box. I told Todd from C & R the situation and he asked if there was another reset outlet in another bathroom, and yes there was in the guest bathroom. He told me to press the reset button there and ta-dah it worked to reset my master bath outlets! I knew to look for a reset outlet but thought it had to be in the same room - didn't know who would be an outlet down the hall! Thanks Todd for saving me time and money with his help on the phone. Appreciate it!

We had a very good experience with C&R Electric. They did a knob and tube rewire of our 1940 house. They were courteous and efficient, showed up on time and had great communication throughout the process. We had a couple of minor problems (we both forgot the doorbell, and one faulty breaker) and they came out and fixed it right away, after the project was finished.

The final cost was actually a little less than our estimate. I didn't feel that they were trying to sell us extra stuff, and their bid was very fair. We had the final inspection today with no problems. I can plug things in now! Will definitely use them again.

We just moved into a new house in SeaTac and we had a few electricians come out and give us bids on a bunch of work we needed done. Brad came out and did our bid and he was very thorough and explained everything we wanted and what we needed. For me I believe in the motto you get what you pay for. I don't remember if there bid was the cheapest but he was by far the best we met with. Tyler and Jarred came out to do our work. They were outstanding. This was a two day job with lots of little projects and things that came up while they were here that we decided to have them do also. They were thorough, courteous, flexible, polite, and genuinely nice guys. I am so glad we picked C&R to do our electric work and would recommend them to everybody.

Everything was great made an appt, they fit me the next morning which was awesome. Technician called me this AM and arrived about 10 minutes later. Very nice technician. He got straight to work trouble shot and fixed my lantern. The work was great, receptionist great. It is a little odd that they send out a bill instead of giving a quote and collecting payment then and there, but overall a good company. If course I dont know how much it cost me so there is that... lol

We were in a pickle as the handyman we had scheduled to put in some ground wires did not show up when our new cabinets come in the next day. This company was very responsive by phone to try to get someone over here. We went with someone else who was closer, but it should be noted that this company was very professional, helpful and cared about our situation.

It should also be noted that they are a family owned business that has been in around for many years. It's hard to find an electrician because they are so busy so you can keep these guys as someone to call as I will.

I chose this company on the recommendation of my realtor and I'm so glad I did! We had a pretty big list--upgrading the service panel, wiring the whole house with data jacks, installing a few outlets both inside and outside the house, running new circuits for future use, adding 3-way switches in a couple rooms, basically everything we didn't like about the house we'd just purchased.

They got it all done faster than expected and were great about communicating when we were going to be totally without power so that we could make alternate plans for that time. They also stopped and asked when they didn't think one of the projects was going to look exactly how I expected and were very flexible when I made changes on the fly. And they billed exactly what was quoted as soon as the work was completed.

Most importantly, they did an AMAZING job cleaning up after themselves. We hired several contractors for various projects this past year and I really got a great appreciation for the lengths they went to to vacuum up after themselves and leave our home clean. I would definitely hire them again if I needed anything else done (although I think they all but re-wired a couple rooms in the house at this point).

It was the Friday of a holiday weekend when our washing machine did something to knock out half of our house's power. Everyone was busy and charging a fortune to come out. C & R staff called us back and said that they were in the neighborhood and would swing over. Not only did they quickly solve the issue, but the charge was extremely reasonable. It saved our weekend. Now we have a list of items to have them work on and will be scheduling their next visit. C&R has become our regular electrician!

I have worked with the guys at C&R years as a general contractor. In addition they have changed out our electrical service panel, meter base and weatherhead. All done correctly, on time and perfect workmanship. I know a little about electrical inspections, I am a home inspector and teach the inspection trade.
I called them in on another electrical problem at my house. Weird one, half the bedrooms had no power, all breakers on. 10 minutes after they arrived they were done! It turns out that problem was self inflicted, I had changed out a light fixture and a wirenut was loose, and thus I killed the power to the back of the home.

They are real pros, do great work and reasonable rates.

I am a first time homeowner and decided to get some work done with C&R because it came well rated and came recommended. They were friendly and fairly responsive. They installed a ceiling fan, can lights and an outlet over my fire place. The ceiling fan and can lights look good. The issue is the rest of the work was not done well - one of the electricians put a hole in the wall above my fireplace. When I asked to have it repaired they said that they would need to charge me extra because their estimate didn't cover necessary patch work, even though it wasn't a necessary hole - just a mistake on their part. Unfortunately it wasn't a positive experience and I feel taken advantaged of, which might just be the case when dealing with electricians (I'm not sure but I won't be coming back to C&R). The junction box with the ceiling fan switch has too many wires to effectively put in a dimmer switch, even though they knew I wanted to put in a dimmer switch, so it takes extra time to trim the wires and figure out a solution on my part. He didn't install a dimmer in that day because he didn't have any in his truck. The issue I have is that I'm paying such high costs for a service and the service wasn't done well the first time, so then I need to spend time and additional money to repair it myself which makes me feel frustrated with the entire experience.

This place has been the most helpful electrical company that we have contacted in the last week. We have left messages at other places and have not received a call back. Last night, we had an electrical problem that caused us to shut down our circuit box and have no electricity for half the day. My fiancé called this company THIS MORNING and they sent out a guy for an appointment at 9am. He showed up ON TIME and was so efficient. Brad helped us and said that he had this specific part in his office and could replace our circuit breaker. He came back, fixed our problem so fast, and was out of there by 10:30am. I love this company. I'm a Realtor and recommend C & R anytime our clients need an electrician. They are responsive, on time, do excellent work and have the best rates of anybody we know of around.

Today I had C & R come out to do work at my personal residence for a blown outlet in my bathroom. While C & R was here I asked the electrician to check a 3-way switch at the top and bottom of my stairs that hasn't worked since I last remodeled five years ago. At that time, two companies came out and neither could fix it. Rick from C & R took care of the issue in minutes.

Called C&R on the recommendation of my realtor after buying a house which needed some serious electrical work. They came out and took a look at the scope of the project. Receptors were ungrounded, polarity was reversed, and there was some sketchy wiring throughout. The also needed to rig a 220 line for a clothes dryer.

After scheduling service, they came out and worked on the place for about 4 days. The electricians were great guys who were always prompt and did a great job. I also had them add a few outlets to both the interior and exterior, as well as add a security light outside.

I have some more work to be done in the kitchen and bath and will have them do the work as well.

We had just moved into our new house - along with a lot of dirty laundry - when we discovered that our 3-prong drier cord wasn't going to plug into the 4-prong wall outlet. With Christmas coming up and guests in the house, this was NOT a Good Thing.

I called C&R, and they were able to get someone out on Christmas Eve. The guy showed up on time, was friendly and professional, and had my drier ready to run in twenty minutes.

Sure, it was a simple job, but they got me taken care of on short notice during the holidays. For doing a good job - and being there when I needed them - I'm giving them full marks.

This is the company you want for electric work in the home. I called for the quote and then made an appointment. The electrician showed up on time, completed the work adequately, and cleaned up everything. Later that day one outlet was not working. The electrician came back and discovered another old outlet was faulty in the circuit. This old outlet was replaced and the new was back on line. Billing method was great by invoice. These guys rock and will have them do work in the future.

I highly recommend these guys! We had a scary, sparking, smoking wire in our crawl space and they came out within an hour of calling them. Ron was super friendly and fixed it right up! He checked our other wires and didn't leave before double checking everything was working and safe. Hopefully I don't have to, but if I do have another electrical problem, I'm calling them again.

We had some work done last year and never got around to getting it inspected. Finally we did this week and it failed to pass inspection. We were given 14 days to have it up to code. We've now called C & R twice and left our information -- since the person who answers the phone claims that there is no one there to talk to us about getting the problem fixed. We're running out of time to get this problem fixed, which I explained to the person on the phone. Their response was to keep calling back each day until we hear from someone????? Really? It's my responsibility to track someone down to make sure that my call is returned? Especially in regards to work that was done incorrectly? Based off of this highly frustrating situation, I would recommend you take your business elsewhere!

These guys are great. I called several electricians I know after I accidentally drilled through a wire, and no one could get out quickly. I called these guys because their name was on the electrical panel in the house, and they were able to get a guy out within an hour who was friendly, extremely skilled, and I would highly recommend them. Granted, they told me that the guy just happened to be at the office waiting to do a proposal, but he just came right over and took care of my little issue. He was so great and helpful I was inspired to tip. Oh, and great prices too. They are a family business and will do a great job for you.
