Alive Electric

I had heard great reviews about them. I called them over for getting an EV car charger and transfer switch + setup for generator , multiple external plug points, multiple lights.

I worked with Paul and he was amazing. It took 2 days but he got everything done and just yesterday when we lost power, i was able to use the generator setup for the first time...

coming back after a year to leave this good feedback as I plan to call them again for additional work at my place.

They did so TERRIBLY for us. About a year ago our attic fan went out, and we hired them to replace it. They did, and it has never once turned on. Best I can tell, they just didn't understand what they were doing. After a few months, and we realized it legitimately had NEVER turned on after the install, they came out to repair it, and said it worked perfectly. Cue another few months wait, and we finally convinced them (in December) that it wasn't working. They told us they had a part on order, but things were taking a long time. We waited until mid-January and hassled them again until they committed to coming February 6th. Feb 6th came and went, and now they won't return my phone calls or emails.

I waited a month to get an appointment and they did not show up. Nor did they return my phone call or email. The are super busy, which allows them to slog off on some of their smaller job customers.

I had a question concerning our home in Trilogy at Redmond Ridge and hooking up a generator in the event of a power outage. Paul of Alive Electric already had an appointment here in Trilogy and stopped by after his call.  At no charge, he examined our main panel along with the secondary panel already wired for backup power. He said we were all set up and just needed to purchase a generator and 30 amp power cord and we'd be good to go. Thanks to Paul & Alive Electric. Great service.

Paul was amazing. Installed my Nema 14-50. He was timely in his visit and had a good hand on electric panel.

We hired Alive Electric to do a number of projects that we had put off during the pandemic.  They were great!  They immediately had good suggestions to make the changes we want happen, and executed everything in a timely and neat manner. They installed new can lights in our ceilings, installed remote fan controls on the wall, moved switches in our garage, installed a new plug in a bathroom, installed a wireless switch in another bathroom (a much cheaper and simpler fix than running wire to provide a second light switch)  installed two ceiling fans, and made a few other repairs too.

When I first emailed them, they said they would be by on day X to make a bid, and they were there on day X. They said they would show up on day Y to do the work, and showed up right on time.  They came to our door wearing masks, which I appreciate. (We are trying to protect our unvaccinated granddaughter).  Shoes came off at the door.  All the work was done neatly and cleanly.  Every bit of fluff and dust was vacuumed up.  

The bid was reasonable, and the work was all done in line with their bid.  I am a happy, happy camper, and will be sure to call them for future electrical work.

The best experience I've had with an electrician, hands down.

Emailed Alive Electric on July 22nd, got a response July 23rd, troubleshot with some pictures of the outlet, the panel, etc. for a few days and got them out to our home by July 28th! Great electrician, great person and overall solid attitude and work ethic.

Not only did he find the issue with our A/C's (Yes, during 85-97 degree weather!) outlet, but also helped mark, label the breaker circuits it belonged to and also showed me how to clean the A/C air filter since we were testing it out.

In less than an hour, the cold air was flowing. Thank you so much for coming out and I will be calling you guys for any other electrical issues or installations or upgrades in the future!

I have been looking for an electrician for a while. Every electrician was very busy, and seemed uninterested in small jobs. I made many calls, and most of them even didn't bother to call me back.

I am very grateful to find Alive Electric. They are also busy, but they responded to my inquiries. They spent time on explaining to me how things would work and understanding my needs. I hired them to replace 2 bath fans.

Originally they scheduled me 2 months ahead, but they gave me a call when they got a cancellation. Therefore we were able to get things done much earlier. They arrived on time. They confirmed with me what we were looking for. Then they started to work. No waste of time! After work, they cleaned up. Everything was done in a quick and proper manner. It was a pleasant experience.

I highly recommend Alive Electric. I would love to use them again.

He's been working on several projects for me. I can generally do most 110 work, but this involved 220 (whole home generator, outlet relocation) and 110 (dedicated circuits, wiring, exterior outlets). Rather than have him just do the 220, I gave him the entire list. He even suggested a more efficient solution to one task, and it worked out brilliantly. He's professional, courteous, prompt, and knows what he's doing. I could not be happier.

Alive Electric has earned both my trust, and my business. I'll highly recommend this company to anyone looking for anything electric.

The owner of Alive Electric, Derek, and his partner are both terrific electricians and people. I can't begin to explain how fortunate I felt to find them. Derek's estimate was much more reasonable than the other electricians in the area, and so I was pleasantly surprised when his work ethic, knowledge base, and expertise surpassed my expectations. I simply will never hire anyone else, and now he's working for both of my neighbors. He really is as good as it gets!

He was here for 2+ days and installed 22 fixtures for me. Some, like the porch, had to be wired in. On top of all the accolades, I just have to say that he is not only caring & professional, he's also very funny. Both Derek and his partner were fun to have in my home. Just thinking back to the experience I had with them brings a smile to my face.

Paul worked with us to understand our project needs. He worked quickly and cleanly. Highly recommended.

I could not proceed with my bath remodel until I had some electrical work done. I was lucky that Derek of Alive had an opening come up sooner than was scheduled.

He and his employee Jeff showed up at exactly 8:30 am and did a perfect job installing 4 new outlets for me above where the new vanities would be.

Both were absolutely great people. Professional. Fast and detail oriented.

Derek and Seth did a fantastic job repairing my outdoor lighting wiring. When my outdoor lighting wasn't working Alive Electric was able to figure out the solution for it and my outdoor lighting works perfectly now ! He also installed a light for my mailbox and I'm having him come back to install additional outdoor lights for my parking area. Very reliable and affordable. They came out multiple times to test and make sure my lights were working but didn't charge me for the extra time. Honest guys who do great work.

Super helpful, great prices and awesome work. Had them rewire my entire kitchen and living room after knocking down two walls and install a 220 outlet in my garage. Would highly recommend.

Derek and Seth are wonderful! They are professional, trustworthy, and priced right! I'm so glad I found them and will continue to hire Alive Electric for my electrical needs. From simple outlet placements all the way up to a Tesla wall charger, they are the only electricians you'll need.

I plugged in a leaf blower to an outlet and one whole section of my house lost power. One handyman, two handymen, three handymen (chaching, chaching, chaching) later the problem persisted. Derek was brilliant in troubleshooting the (simple) loose wire in a outlet that was functioning itself, but not allowing the electric to continue to produce electricity on down the line (technical jargon). Derek was so professional and frugal. I have had other electricians for other tasks, but ALIVE ELECTRIC is now at the front of my rolodex. Thanks Jeff and Derek.

Derek is competent, fast, fair and friendly. I do most of my own home repair and maintenance, but i felt i needed help with a particular task. Derek homed in on the issue, but also found two other easy to fix issues that were related, which is why i hired a professional. I'm glad i hired him rather than doing this one myself. It was money well spent. And he let me watch, as he enjoys conversation while working. This is the mark of someone with enough experience to be totally confident in their own abilities. I'll call him again for more projects that are above my ability.

Alive Electric and its owner, Derek, came highly recommended via a Facebook Duvall Community Board Thread where someone was asking for a good electrician.  And now, I want to share my experience with them on Yelp.

In Late Feb. 2017, I had to take a day off work to be home for some emergency plumbing work, so I decided to email Alive Electric and see if I could schedule a visit on the same day as the plumber to get a few electrical project estimates.  Much to my surprise, the email I sent on 2/27 was answered on 2/28, and they were able to mark me down for the day when I would be home (3/1).

Derek and Seth showed up during the block of time (1-2 pm) they told me, and we got right down to discussing the work I wanted to do.  My primary request was to install an outlet behind the spot where I intended to wall-mount a HDTV.  They completed the work, which included adding one outlet 5' above the floor plus an entry (next to the new outlet) and exit (near floor) receptacle box for my HDMI and COAX cables, in about a half-hour.  For the next half-hour, we discussed future projects (i.e. moving recessed lights; installing a ceiling fan) and I got a feel for how complex this work may or may not be, and how much time it would take.

Throughout the visit, Derek and Seth were very polite, friendly, and straightforward with the way they approach projects, and advised me on which of my choices in the proposed jobs would consume more time, or raise the post-project cost (i.e. wall-patching drywall) of additional work.  I only wish I was better prepared for their visit by, say, having the HDTV Mount ready to install (they offered to install this, but I had not purchased one yet), or by buying other components in advance to start additional projects right then (i.e. hanging lights to replace the recessed ones over our kitchen island).  So, my one bit of advice for anyone looking to utilize Alive Electric would be to have multiple projects and their associated materials ready to go because they charge by the hour and are efficient and exact at what they can do!

For a number of years, I had gone with one of the bigger electrician companies in the area for all of my project needs...In fact, I went with them twice before to install outlets and cable receptacle boxes for wall-mounted HDTVs.  This company charged in the ballpark of $300-500 for this type of project, but Alive Electric did it for notably less $$$ and with the same standard of quality.

Not sure where to start. Alive Electric is an amazing company. I had some outlet issues that I could not resolve till he came. The GFCI outlet started to work when he arrived on Saturday. He still checked everything and left with a handshake and on the top of that he is very friendly. Highly recommend Alive Electric to everyone.

We had to fix a chandelier and interior canned lights, as well as install outdoor lighting, and all I can say is that these guys are amazing to work with. They are kind, professional, and great at what they do. I would 100% hands-down hire them any time I need any electrical work done.

Just left the Duvall area but Derek has done work for my family twice now.  He is great.  The last time he came in and helped me out of a bind with an electrical project that i accidentally created.  He didnt give me too much flack for it and was really helpful  in getting it resolved.  Since i no longer live in his service area i will be sad to not be able to use his company.  However, i cant say enough how great he is to work with.  His rates are fair.  His work is good.  And he is all around a good guy from the times i have worked with him.  If you have an an electrical project i think you would be in good hands to hire alive electric.  My only complaint is that sometimes he can be hard to reach via phone.  But that is a minor issue.  I hope this helps anyone in their search for an electrician.

Derek was so awesome to work with. I saved up a bunch of small jobs for an electrician to do, that might have been more handyman work but he was more than willing to complete the work but did it in a quick and efficient manner. I got the wrong supplies, he helped me find replacements and gave me a budget for options, along with pros and cons of each choice. I am so appreciative of how easy he is to contact, how quick he responds and how professional but kind he is. I would give Alive Electric 10./10 if I could. Will definitely use this company again.

Derek was fantastic - efficient and effective.  We had a whole list of electrical issues, and he tackled them one by one.  He didn't just do what we asked, he advised us on better ways to make things work - like getting better LED bulbs so that we didn't have to change out all of our dimmers, which saved us hundreds of dollars.  He also solved some mysteries with our wiring that others before him gave up on - like finding disconnected transformers that were hidden in our basement.  And he was fast!  Took him less than 5 minutes to change out each old smoke detector high up in our ceilings, including adding new wire harness and mounting plate so that everything looks brand new.  He listened well and clearly explained the easiest, most cost-effective ways to solve our electrical issues.  His hourly rate was in line with others, but the quality of his work and his speed were terrific.  We hired him because he came highly recommended by friends.  It's good to know that we have such a great electrician that we can trust.
