Wow, worst customer service AND they will not give you the right service either. Had the owner hang up on me AND his receptionist hang up on me when I questioning their misjudgment on my treatment. Plus the owner just made up a bunch a lies in his response below, he said I knew about a break in my line years before -when it was just discovered last week. And that I had sewage that was all over my floors already- too bad I had it professionally cleaned just weeks before- photos and witnesses, hes totally making up lies about customers who write a bad reviews, beware people.
I had Action Jackson come last week to clear a clog that I thought was caused by roots in my sewer line, based on a free scope the city had done on the outside line 3 weeks prior, that showed a few roots were in there but water was still flowing.
When Don, the owner, of Action Jackson arrived the very first thing I did was take him into my basement and showed him a basement floor drain that water had been backing up in, and asked him Are you sure hydrojetting won't cause a back up of water in my basement here? And he said No. Then he said he would check to make sure, and I said Ok, and I did also check 3 times during the process, but I did not check the floor drain the last 15 minutes of the jetting, when the hose was closest in proximity to the house (because they start at the street and work their way back up to the house-from an outside cleanout).
My first clue should have been than when they were scoping as they hydrojetted there was no clog, no toilet paper snagged, and I even asked Don, did the roots look bad? And he said not at all. Secondly, Don did not go inside the basement and check to make sure the drain was not backing up when it was done. So as they were packing up to leave I checked the basement and found water and sewage overflowed out of my basement floor drain into the laundry room AND overflowed the basement toilet onto the bathroom floor. I had to chase them down the street to get them to stop and come back to see. Don just sent his assistant in to 'take care of it.
Then his assistant came into the basement and tried to flush water down the drain- causing a WHOLE BUNCH MORE water to spill back into the laundry room with sewage in it and overflowed the toilet even more, and I was like stop! Stop! And actually had to go get Don out of his truck to come back in and look at the situation. So Don brought his scope inside and opened up the sewer cleanout right next to the floor drain, and he found there was break in the the sewer line just where the pipes leave the house that was causing the clog. Not the tree roots at all. Ok, so he says he'll send his 'partner' company out tomorrow and give me a free estimate (um, sewer break estimates are always free). His assistant mopped up a little water and then they left without a word, not even a sorry, or hey- lets talk about how this happened, or even a- I was really wrong about using the hydrojet in this situation. In fact, later I found out they just could have snaked the line for half the price. But I hear companies like to push the hydrojetting because they make more money off it.
Also, I had asked the receptionist when I booked the appointment Do you scope the sewer line first to see what your getting into? And she said no, we scope after the roots are cleared. And I was confused by that, but this was my first time getting my sewer cleared, so I trusted they know how its done.
So obviously, I should have had them scope the inside sewer line first, but I didn't know it was very common to have a sewer break right where the line leaves the house, especially in 100 year old house. This is my first time owning a 100 year old house, so now i know- never hydrojet the sewer!
So after they left that day I was in shock about it all, and I spent several days drying out the water spill, and hired a sewage treatment company to remove poop and sanitize the floors. And then after I heard from some of the companies who came out to bid repairing the sewer break, who were not surprised the hydrojet caused a backup, and questioned why a snake was not just used, that I feel like a big error in judgement had been made. I feel like Action Jackson did not use their many years of expertise in sewer business to advise the best solution, but instead wanted to take my check and run.
So when I called Don to question his treatment, he literally hung up within the first sentence. And so I called his receptionist, and I asked her Is it typical your boss just hangs up on a customer?? And she said, Oh he called and said you could pay him $100 to come back over to your house.. And I was like Huh? Why would I pay him $100 to come back? And she said, Well if your gonna act that way, I'm gonna hang up on you too!
And she did. Rudest company ever. I can't believe they have stayed in business this long treating customers like this, unbelievable.
