We were assigned Aul Plumbing from our home warranty company. What a relief it was to have a professional and courteous plumber show up at our door. Daniel Aul (owner/plumber) diagnosed our garbage disposer problem, determined the required fix, and replaced it within 30 min. Very clean removal and install. Nothing but praise. We have a bathroom remodel coming up and know who we'll be calling!

He does not show up and I don't think he is an honest person. Lots of BS excuses.  Was assigned by home warranty company, but we had to cancel after his no show and hire someone else.  Have complained to home warranty company about it.

I run a daycare and my only downstairs toilet clogged beyond regular plumbing. I called these guys and they came out in 30 minutes! He fast, Quiet (It Was Naptime) and it was well within my budget.

Life savers! !!!!

If I could give negative stars I would. Was assigned this plumber by my home warranty company. After being stood up 8 separate times, I called the home warranty company. My story sounds a lot like the other reviews. Very nice at first, and then roll in the excuses and after missing many appointments. I called home warranty company and they told me he said we were never available. Text message documentation showed otherwise and provided to the home warranty company. Lying was the last straw for me. Pay way too much money for this nonsense. Requested a full refund from my home warranty and have requested this contractor be no longer considered for services. If you can't manage your business, get some help.

Scheduled an appt with  AUL Plumbing after they were contracted by our warranty company on Wednesday for 11am--3pm Friday.  Called to confirm at 11am, no answer, left messages after several more attempts to call their 2 listed phone numbers with no response up to 3pm.
Very unprofessional, poor customer service, and discourteous. It only takes a few seconds to communicate via msg, email, or cell phone these days.  After 3pm, the warranty company phoned and they answered, made an excuse of being behind, rescheduled for Saturday. However, still didn't return my call, no apology, so no thank you, I CANCELLED the reschedule, as they already showed enough unprofessional service for 1 whole day!

I was forced to use this plumber by my homeowners warranty, First American. The plumber was totally non responsive and didn't show when I was supposed to have an appointment. I would never use this plumber....he wasn't only non responsive but his voice mailbox was full so you couldn't even leave a message. Totally unreliable!!! Would NEVER recommend

Will never forget this guy. Had him do a service call from our warranty company April of 2019. We got the warranty when we purchased the home. He came out on time but we missed the appointment so we rescheduled. Then he rescheduled but came out on the second rescheduled date. Cut out our wall and said he had to get a part. Came back empty handed and said it will be in the next day. Took my money $100 deposit and haven't seen him since.

He didn't answer his phone or respond to texts as that's how he was originally communicating. Another company came out to fix it. So I just spent double and wasted my time taking off work. I ended up having mold because of the leak. The leak ended up causing water to go all under my wood floors. Leading us to remodel our dining room and replace all of our downstairs wood floors. It led to a long 3 months process. Just knowing a plumber came in seen the mold and leaks after cutting my wall and still taking my money and leaving.

He is a total scam. I will NEVER forget this guy. If you go on his business Facebook page you can see us arguing back and forth. Very unprofessional. I notified the warranty company and showed them all of the communication back and forth including the ones on Facebook. Not sure if they did anything about it but I no longer use a warranty company now. I highly don't recommend him. He will run with your money.

I am a Realtor in the Hampton Roads area. Aul Plumbing was assigned thru First American for some warranty work, but I also needed an emergency walk-through repair.

They called within 15 minutes of receiving the warranty assignment, and we were able to meet later that day to confirm the work. The repairs were completed in a timely manner (water heater, and leaky drain pipes in crawl)...with none of those mysterious uncovered 'modifications'.

Also responded quickly to my walkthru emergency, completing a repair by the end of the same day.

Absolutely crappy business. Called several times. No returned calls. Had an appointment, no show. Then told he would call later to set something up and the coward won't answer his phone or have the decency to return a call or a text. Showed up three hours late for an appointment when he did show. Lied about receiving the original call from the home warranty company and had me call again and submit complaint so he didn't have to come out that day. If you have an appointment with a client BE THERE! Do the work. Why would you purposefully make a stressful situation even more stressful???? Don't ever even think of using this crappy company.

Response: not fake review. Look at other reviews. No show, said he would not be at my home 1/2 hour before he was scheduled to replace a water heater that was broken for days that he was returning because he already fixed rigged it. Tried to call and text to reschedule and no response. Seemed like a great guy, he never fixed a broken water heater and made his measly service fee so he had no intention of returning to replace a dead water heater. I took down permanent shelves, emptied closet totally and he doesn't show at appointment time? Won't call or text to reschedule?

Also assigned by my Homeowners warranty company, this company NEVER scheduled a visit with me or came to my home.  This was july of 2016. I got an invoice in January 2017 for a service fee that never happened.  WTF.  I hope you don't pull this on too many would have/could have been clients.  It's a horrible business practice.

This person was due to show up at my home between 12pm and 4pm for plumbing repairs. Not only did he not show up, he did not answer my call or text I sent 30minutes prior to our appointment requesting an ETA. He then texted me, instead of calling, to say he was not coming and he was sorry for the inconvenience but his Van was in the shop. Someone professional would have called their customer instead of leaving them waiting and then not showing up or informing them. Then he was rude and unprofessional when I called him out on being unprofessional.  See texts below. If I could give zero stars I would. And within ten minutes of me saying no thank you to his service and wishing him good luck he called my warranty company thru which he was contracted and told them he refused to service or help me at my home.

Aul was selected by our warranty company to repair the angle valves under the kitchen sink.
He didn't show for the 1st Appointment, dire family emergency.
Showed up for the 2nd appointment and put $100 on our credit card for the service call. Broke the next appointment because his best friends father died and he had to go console him.
For-the next week I called / texted him probably 6-8 times. He has yet to respond.
He added $100 my card under false pretenses which some people might call it stealing!
He lied maybe 5-6 times.
so you add those 2 together and what have you got ?
He thinks he's going to take my $100 and I won't respond , that's a bad , stupid mistake. I'm not in the habit of letting people steal from me. Any good reviews you see on here are suspect. Read all the reviews. See a pattern ?

My AHWP warranty company assigned Aul for my plumbing leak and we scheduled an appointment.  Due to a medical emergency I had to reschedule.  Aul called me on the day of the new appointment saying he was stuck on a job and could we reschedule which we did. Things happen! He never showed up or called on the new appointment day. I had stayed home from work to meet him that day. If you can't make an appointment,  call!!!! Terrible !

We were matched with this company by our home warranty company. They were a huge pain to get a hold of. They never answered our phone calls and instead would text to set up appointments. Except they never showed up for any of these appointments. They were supposed to come out on a Wednesday and texted us that morning that they were running a few hours late. Okay no problem. That afternoon I texted for an update. They didn't respond until 9pm that night and said they'd call us tomorrow to reschedule. Days went by and we never heard from them so I had to text them again to set up a new appointment. Which of course, they no-showed again. We were unable to get a hold of them again so we had to call the home warranty for a new company. Very disappointed.

Let me preface this by saying THIS IS NOT A FAKE REVIEW. A complete joke of a company.

If I could give less stars I would. This contractor was the most unprofessional 'professional' I have ever come across. He was assigned to my claim of a leaky water heater by my home warranty company. At first I was excited. We placed the claim on Wednesday, November 6th. He reached out to us on Thursday, November 7th and said his first available opening was on Friday, November 8th but would let me know if he had a cancellation and could come earlier. He did have a cancellation and was able to come on Thursday the 7th.

He told us it could take approximately 1 week and even though I hoped for faster service, I understand there was a holiday (Veterans Day) and the water heater needed to be ordered. I didn't hear anything from him all week and I finally reached out to him on Thursday, November 14th asking if he had an update. He said he had the equipment and could come install the water heater on Monday, November 18th between 10AM-12PM. I took the day off work to make sure I was home and ready.

On Monday, November 18th at 10:06AM I received a TEXT from Daniel telling me he had van issues and needed to cancel the appointment. He also told me he would contact me that evening to reschedule. Then NOTHING, no contact, no calls, no texts, NOTHING. I reached out to him on Tuesday, November 19th at 4:39PM. NOTHING. I reached out to him on Wednesday, November 20th at 12:22PM. 4:31PM and 6:29PM. Finally at 7:15PM, he TEXTS me saying he can come tomorrow (Wednesday, November 19th) anytime after 12. His text says 'I literally just got my van back.' Before I can respond, he sends me another TEXT at 7:29 saying those appointments have all been filled by others and it will have to be 'Friday or this weekend now.' I just was hoping to have it done before Thanksgiving since I had family coming.

Thursday, November 21st, he tests me at 2:03 saying he can come tomorrow (Friday, November 22nd) between 2-4PM and to please confirm. I say yes and take yet ANOTHER day off work. Friday comes and goes. NO communication whatsoever concerning the appointment. NO SHOW! I reached out to him at 3:19PM, 3:46PM, 3:55PM and 8:04PM. No response. I reach out to him on Saturday, November 23rd at 7:26AM, 10:06AM, and 3:32PM. Still NOTHING.

He finally TEXTS me at 5:04PM apologizing and said 'Looks like my text never went through Friday. I'm just getting my messages now. I can be there tomorrow (Sunday, November 24) around 12.' So I skip church and change family plans to be there. GUESS WHAT???? NEVER SHOWED!!!!!! Surprise, surprise.

He messages me at 9:59AM telling me it will be between 1-2PM but he is still coming. Then again NOTHING. I reach out at 10:24AM and 1:24PM. He messages me at 1:30PM telling me is running an hour behind schedule and that 'Things don't always go as planned. I ask him if that means he will be there at 3 and then he tells me that I can reschedule for tomorrow (Monday, November 27th). UMMM NO, I am not taking off another day of work for you!

At 2:12 he messages me and says his van won't start and he is waiting on a tow. In the message he says this I can't say sorry enoug hand I'm sure I will get a terrible review. I am done with this mess. He reaches out at 9:36PM on Sunday the 26th and says he has to have a new starter installed on his fan and will come whenever it is done on Monday the 27th. I let him know he needs to come on the 27th or else I am contacting the Warranty Company to let them know how bad he was.

The last communication I got from him on Monday, November 27th was this I was just about to text you. They are still working on it (the van). I'll notify First American to have another company come out then.

He never showed any remorse, never showed any desire to make things right.

My questions are this?
Where is my water heater? First American ordered it and had it sent to you?
Do you only have 1 van? Rent another one and keep your appointments.
Do you have other clients? I cannot be the only one you cancelled on.
Texting really? How unprofessional.

I also complained about him to my Home Warranty Company. I hope they never contract with him again either. What a terrible company with even worse service.

Terrible customer service. Does not return calls. Does not answer phone. Does not start work nor complete reports. I would do anything to avoid this company. If you want work to be completed or started for that matter find anyone else. Pay more. Do anything possible to avoid this company. They will not do anything they promised nor complete a job. What's worse is that they will lie to you.

I would like to give a better rating, since Daniel seems knowledgeable; however, response times are terrible!  I was assigned this company by my home warranty company, and so I must use them...unfortunately, every time I've called, I have gotten an answering machine, and have left a message.  

Expect next day call backs, I would not call them for emergency work...again, I wish I could give a better review...but this is ridiculous.

Recommend at least same day call back, regardless of what time the message was left...I say this, only because your site says 24/7 emergency service.

Where do I start with these crooks. I can not even gather my words right now to show how furious I am with this company. We just bought a new home and this warranty came with the house. The toilets were running for the first 2 months we were here but we did not know until our first water bill came in the mail. It was very expensive and so we called the warranty company. They set us up an appointment with Thomas Plumbing and the guy never showed up. Best part is not once but three times! After the 3rd time the guy called me and said he was 30 minutes out. I was at work becuase the guy never showed yesterday and now they just put me on the schedule for the next day and no one bothered to call or confirm. I leave work to meet the plumber after he just called and said he would be there in 30 minutes and I work well within the timeline to meet him at the house. The plumber never showed up. I called him 4 times and he finally picks up the phone and says I was there but you were not. ABSOLUTELY NO WAY! We got into an argument on the phone and he hung up. I call back First American Warranty and they ask me if I want another tech sent out. They then set me up with AUL Plumbing and the guy showed up a couple days later and I paid him $100. He said he would get the authorizations in and order the parts. Over 2 weeks go by and I hear crickets from the plumber. After he ignored many texts finally he says the parts came in. We schedule 3 different times and all 3 times he no called no showed after taking numerous days off waiting from him to come 10-2 or 11-1. I am sitting here in shock he did not show up today and am currently on the phone with American First Warranty. They have offered me to send another tech and I am absolutely not spending one more missed day of work to wait around for these no call no show scam artists. For the amount of work missed I could have bought all 3 new toilets and had them installed or installed myself. I do not know if these contractors are the lowest bidders and that is how this company is picking them. But this is out of control, just to think if you had 3 contractors come and you owe them a $100 for a diagnosis...this company has just made $300 and on the 3rd guy you hope they actually show up to fix your problem! UNBELIVIABLE! Please save yourself the stress, the phone calls, your MONEY and have someone just come fix your next problem. This is a real scam!

I was assigned this plumbing company by my home warranty company.  It's been about 17 days since I put in my request to have a leaking sink looked at.  They have not called me back nor have they responded to voice mails that I left them over a week ago.  I called the home warranty company and requested to be assigned another plumber.

I would not recommend this company. Most unprofessional business owner I've ran across. He is known for no shows and does not return your calls. My home warranty service hooked me up with him and as a result I've switched companies. They should have stopped using him a long time ago. Lost my buisness and will lose many more if they continue to use this company. I've noticed he even responds to negative reviews with some narcissistic angels!

Dan gave us a quick call back in the middle of the Feb 2015 deep freeze warm up when many pipes were bursting all over Hampton Roads and many plumbers were very busy.  He quoted us, not only a fair price, but much less than half of what other plumber told us.  He was fair, hard working, curious, and a gentlemen to have around my wife and children.  We will definitely call him again when the need arises!  Thank you!

I attempted to use them through first home American home warranty.  They booked an automatic appointment which I could not make it  to. I wouldn't have scheduled it during that time obviously and  I could not call back by the time they scheduled it because I can't have phones at work. The next day which was the scheduled appointment I tried to call them 7 times, left 4 messages,  all that day to reschedule and still no reply. Now it is after working hours and I still have no kitchen sink. A call back would really be great... then I can actually review the services...
UPDATE AFTER COMPANY REPLY ON HERE: After they replied I tried to continue to reach out and sent a message on here to see if there was a better number for their broken phone. I never received a call, email,  or message and it's nearly the end of the working day.  The home warranty reached AUL on the same number I've been calling so I'm pretty sure they're just not answering my calls,  maybe it's cause it's from a different area code.. maybe the home warranty company is overworking them...  or I've annoyed them (which is understandable,  but I've now had 2 plumbers not show up which speaks more on the warranty company than these guys)... who knows. I'll give 3 stars because maybe it's on me for trying to get a hold of them several times over 3 days. I'm sure they're capable but I can't seem to get help.

Their communication skills need great improvement.  After being assigned this company to find/fix a water leak by my Home Warranty Company - what I though was minor turned out to be as much water as a faucet turned on under the house.  It was Sunday, but now that I realized that it was an emergency, I called Aul using the number I received from the warranty company (also the only one on their web page). Their webpage states that they are available 24/7, so I was wondering why no return call.  I even left them a VM with the sound of the water pouring under my house. Fortunately a neighbor helped me turn off the water.  When I called Monday morning and left another VM and after 15 more minutes sent an email to the email address.  Finally I received a call where he said, The 24 hour service is only for regular customers, not those through a home warranty.  I'm sorry, but I'm a human being now forced to tote a bucket of water from the bathroom with a tub to the bathroom with only a shower stall to flush the toilet - I should have at least received a call back saying you weren't doing the job.  Apparently Aul doesn't understand how to get a ticket assigned to someone else, because when I called the home warranty company I was told the ticket was cancelled.

UPDATE: A day or two after posting the review below, the owner of Aul Plumbing texted me finally...but it was to say he never picked up the call, that he was closed over the weekend and that was why nobody responded to my calls and texts. He finished his text with a threat of a slander lawsuit if I didn't take down my review post from Yelp. You can see I DID NOT remove my review.

We have just moved into a home that was inspected ahead of time and plumbing issues were not found. However, one week after we moved in, the entire plumbing system backed up and flooded the master bathroom. We cleaned it up and called our home warranty company for a plumber in the middle of COVID-19 and over the Easter weekend. Aul Plumbing picked up the call, but over the next 18 hours would not return any phone calls to us or to the warranty company that they responded to. Now here we are, waiting with no way to use any of our facilities and having to go to a 7-Eleven in the middle of the night just to use their bathroom. The home warranty company tried again to reach Aul Plumbing and there was no response. They had to find us another plumber who now cannot come out until the third day. So we will have been without the ability to use a shower or a toilet in our house for going on 36 hours by the time someone arrives.

You can be sure that we advised First American home warranty to drop Aul Plumbing from their list of contractors due to the fact that they have been completely unresponsive and if I could give them zero stars at this point I would.

I can't believe that any circumstance would warrant this level of unresponsiveness. If there was a death in the company or something like that, there should be someone on staff who would at least be able to answer calls and let people know that there was an emergency that they could not return the calls and advise their customers to find other means of repair for their plumbing emergencies.

Take a warning from our fiasco and don't use Aul Plumbing if you have any kind of plumbing need.

This man booked an appointment and never showed up then I was unable to contact him. Another week went by and he texted me 4 times each text getting more demanding than I reply! I wasn't hearing my phone and of course, did not reply. The last message threatened to cancel my claim and tell my home warranty co that I would not respond, By the time I found the messages on my phone, it was too late to salvage the customer/ business relationship. He was angry and threatening and buy that time I had had it with him!! The review for AUL PLUMBING went online! He texted me today AGAIN threatening me AGAIN with a slander lawsuit!! Many other reviews of his service are on YELP and say the same problem occurred. I have called and informed !st American of his behavior in case anything should proceed from here.
Be careful with this man! He has a low flashpoint!!

AUL Plumbing was assigned to do some work by my warranty company.  After constant rescheduling over a 2 month period the one-plumber (Daniel) company has now ghosted me and will not return calls.  This company is not professional and does not put the customer first.  I still have two leaks and the results of this has pushed me to change warranty companies.  Checking the BBB and other reviews I see similar unprofessionalism to other customers.  I highly recommend you take your money and business elsewhere.  If your home warranty chooses AUL Plumbing, I hope your experience is better than mine.

Update:  FAHW finally contacted me and provided me with a refund.  They stated that AUL Plumbing said the job was complete and that I declined the work on my garbage disposal.  This person is a liar and is libel to FAHW for damages if the warranty company wanted to pursue it.  It very much looks like he is pulling a scam on warranty companies and to the date of this review, at least my warranty company has not pursued any legal action and continue to use him as a service provider.  This is a dishonest person and a sham company.  I am very happy to go with a different warranty company as well.  I will save that for another review.  I have receipts so go ahead and respond Daniel.  You seem to have a higher percentage of response to poor reviews than you do to the customers reviewing you.

Horrible customer service. We were assigned this company by our home warranty service...after they came to the house to estimate repairs we didn't hear anything back! Home warranty company stated that the company never completed the required report to even start the job, and now they won't answer or return calls. I do not recommend this company.

We were referred to AUL Plumbing through our warrantee company. Our kitchen sink shut off valve is leaking.   AUL Plumbing called me and set our appointment for 12/31/2019 between 12:00pm and 2:00pm.  After taking off of work and waiting for them, they never showed up.  I called their number several times and not only did they not answer their phone, but they never returned my call.  I would have understood if they needed to reschedule the appointment, however they did not even give me the respect of a call back.  I GIVE THEM A FAILURE.
