Late Saturday afternoon, returned home and NO hot water. Called Neighborhood Plumbing based on Yelp reviews and spoke with Leo. As promised, he arrived 30 minutes after our call to inspect the water heater. He quickly fixed the pilot light and waited 15 mins to make sure the water heater was fully functional.
He didn't charge me for his service! I'm impressed with his professionalism and he certainly takes pride in his work/company. You could feel it!

We used Leo and his team for the sewer line in our house. Cement, sewer line, roofing drains, clean out cap and inspections were all completed within three days. There was no mess to clean up after job was finished. Fair price & excellent team. Highly recommend Neighborhood Plumbing.
Leo was great - he arrived exactly on time, was quick, efficient and super helpful. I also found the staff in his office a pleasure to deal with. I'd definitely recommend his company and would call them again with any issues.
I am an infrequent Yelp poster at best, but every now and then you have a great service experience and need to pay it forward. Leo came to the rescue after we had an epic clogged drain that I managed to make worse.
I'm not sure which I was most impressed by:
1. He called me back within an hour. On a Sunday. The day before New Year's Eve.
2. He said he could arrive between 2 and 3PM (2 hours after I called). He arrived at 1:59PM.
3. He offered a $25 discount since I was a new customer. His rates were equal to or better than the other services I called. He did not charge a special rate even though it was a Sunday and a holiday weekend.
4. He was courteous and professional...and downright pleasant to boot.
5. He quickly assessed the problem and had the drain cleared within 30 minutes.
6. He left the place cleaner than it was before he arrived.
Big fan. Hard to find this mixture of competence and customer service.
Over the weekend my kitchen disposal stopped working and water began to back up. I went on YELP, read reviews and decided to give Neighborhood Plumbing a call. Honestly, the reviews were so astounding positive that I prepared myself not to expect quite that level of service, but felt confident that this Leo dude could do the job. Well I did receive that level of service! Leo and his coworker were on time, explained what they were doing and taught me how to avoid this issue again. I have wanted to remodel with a new bathtub but feared being ripped off finding someone to install. I have found my plumber for my remodel and who to call when I face a plumbing emergency. Great job guys from your newest customer.
I've hired Leo of Neighborhood Plumbing for three jobs - clearing a clogged bathroom sink drain, replacing a kitchen faucet, and replacing the sewer line from inside the garage out to the street - and was planning on calling him today to fix a newly-leaky garbage disposal, only to find that he is not taking on new jobs due to the pandemic.
Suffice it to say that I wouldn't be a repeat customer were I not so impressed with the first job they did for me, the sewer line replacement that began on a Friday in September of 2014. That morning I discovered a pool of raw sewage emanating from the garage floor drain. Not good. Leo was the first plumber I reached who could come out that day get started with clearing the sewer line to the street. Hired!
(You can skip the next 2 paragraphs if you want.)
Once Leo began work, his big motorized drain augur failed to clear the blockage. A video inspection revealed tree roots to be the culprit - not at all surprising given the ca. 1900 vintage of the home. A proper and permanent fix would require the replacement of about 35 feet of old clay pipe with new iron pipe, beginning 15 feet inside the garage and extending all the way to the curb.
Thankfully, Leo was ready to start digging immediately and was willing to work Saturday and Sunday to complete the job. He moved for me to a safe location the many boxes in the garage that would have obstructed his work. He took breaks in his work so we could use water (think shower, toilet) at coordinated times throughout the day. And Leo & team even took care of replacing the portions of the garage floor and sidewalk that they had to jackhammer and remove in order to dig 4 feet down to the sewer pipe; concrete work was finished on Monday morning.
As I write this - years after the initial work was performed - there have been no blockages of the sewer line and sink drain that Leo cleared, the concrete he poured hasn't cracked, and the lovely Grohe faucet he installed continues to perform like new. In short, the work he performs is of high quality and it lasts.

After putting if off for several years, we decided to repair our sagging sewer line. Called Leo in the morning, we met at noon and I had a firm quote by the evening. I'm sure we all know how rare that is. It was a big job but Leo and his crew were fantastic. Arrived every day when he said he would and kept us informed all the way. And the price was more than fair. If we had known it could go this smoothly, we would have done it sooner! On a personal note, it was a great reminder to someone like me, who is in business for themselves (and a little older) to treat every new client like he's your first one. Thanks, Leo!
Leo and Amber of Neighborhood Plumbing are truly the Dynamic Duo. They're responsive, thoughtful, blazingly skilled, smart, and kind. We--like other reviewers--had an urgent problem. Ours: a newly installed shower fixture with increasingly unstable water pressure, weird temperature variations, and potential pipe kabooms (this from the manufacturer of the parts in question). Turns out some essential components were originally installed incorrectly, and with a recommendation from Excel Plumbing (our retailer) in San Francisco, we found Neighborhood Plumbing, who put everything right. Amber responded immediately (I was thrilled), and when Leo arrived to diagnose and repair the shower innards--well, let's just say we'll never dream of contacting anyone else. Seriously. If 80% of success is showing up, it's only the beginning where Leo's concerned. He knows what he's doing: he's convivial, calm, talented, polished, and exactly the kind of person who inspires real confidence. His results speak for themselves. And I do not exaggerate when I say we sleep better knowing we can count on Leo and Amber. They have no equal.
Leo's awesome. He's so responsive! Even if you don't get him on your first try he's always prompt to return your call. He replaced the sewer pipe in front of my house and also did some plumbing work for a rental apartment I own. Rates are reasonable and you can tell he's not trying to squeeze every penny out of you.

My home is 100+ years and has been showing her age for awhile. Latest problem: broken sewer drain. I called several SF plumbers and Leo called me back within a day. We made an appointment later in the week and he showed up promptly.
Leo's kind, friendly and knows plumbing. He was honest when he looked at my plumbing and he and his nice crew worked smart but hard to replace the drain line. It look longer and was more $, but replacing the entire sewer drain made sense as a long term investment for my home's well-being. The price included everything between trenching and new concrete. He also cleaned up the work area too.
When I had questions about progress or changes, Leo answered my questions right away. If I have future plumbing problems, I know whom I'm going to call. We're thankful for Leo and his crew.

Wow. Leo is terrific. Our bathroom sink was clogged. Leo came over the same day. He fixed the problem in about 4 minutes and showed us how to do it ourselves in the future. (Turns out there was a bunch of my girlfriend's hair stuck in the drain.)
Moreover, he didn't charge us because it was such a quick fix. Most plumbing companies charge a minimum hourly fee so that would have likely cost us $150+ with a different company.
Leo is prompt, knowledgeable and fair. He comes and does a complimentary assessment of the situation and gives a quote so there is no charge unless you authorize him to do work.

I'm very happy with Neighborhood Plumbing's service. Leo was professional, punctual, and efficient. II was able to easily book a same day appointment. I called and left a message asking for availability and he called me back within the hour. I had issues with my shower head, there was no water coming out of the shower head even though the shower head was put in less than 4 months ago. Calcium built up was the culprit. Leo was very kind to offer tips on how to clean and to check my shower head for calcium build up. Thank you for all of your help!
We had some issues with the plumbing in our house, a pipe leak. They came out to give an estimate and I thought that was kind of expensive. I called two other plumbers, got two other quots. The neighborhood plumbing turned out to be right in the middle between the two other quots, so I decided to go with them. The work was done without any complications. The plumber wasn't very communicative. I felt like he didn't want to explain what is going on and what he needs to do to fix the problem. But the work was done and the issue was fixed.
Leo is truly remarkable! I could regale you with the epic tale of how he fearlessly tackled what he dubbed as the clog of the year, but the crux of the matter is that Leo triumphed over the disaster with unmatched skill and poise. I wouldn't even consider reaching out to anyone else if another issue arises. Leo's excellence is unparalleled.
Once again, Leo's expertise shone brightly! We encountered a clogged urinal predicament at our office that required immediate attention. Without hesitation, Leo promptly accommodated us on the same day. Punctual, professional, and exceptionally efficient, Leo swiftly resolved the issue. In my opinion, plumbers are like emergency workers: when you need one you NEED ONE NOW. But they are also like car mechanics: they do hard dirty specialized work that you can't really evaluate because you aren't a plumber. So when you find an honest plumber like Leo of Neighborhood Plumbing, who cares about his work, explains the problem and the solution clearly, shows up on time, is responsive and genuinely concerned with doing quality work, you feel like you won the lottery!
Neighborhood Plumbing was great from start to finish. My job was an important but minor one that several other plumbers had declined because it was too small to fit into busy schedules. Leo responded quickly, did excellent work that easily passed inspection AND discovered that I could avoid over $1,000 in mistaken fees by knowing City Code and policy.
Leo's company deserves more than 5 stars.

EDIT: I have a thought about something other reviews have mentioned: phone contact.
Leo seems to prefer text messaging over phone communication. I'm old enough to remember the days before texting, but in this situation, text makes a LOT more sense than conversing. You get quick, efficient, concise communication because the plumber doesn't have to wait until he has office hours to yak on the phone. I would imagine it allows him to communicate MORE with clients since it doesn't distract from the task at hand.

Wow, called these guys and they sent a plumber in a couple of hours. Showed up on time found out we had a minor problem with our tub drainage and fixed it in 5 minutes. We had another plumber a few months ago who still couldn't get this drain running well with a snake compared to what this guy did with a wire hanger! Awesome, knowledgeable, and very customer oriented!
Leo is fantastic! He and his crew just left a minute ago. Leo has been our plumber for several issues we have had in the last few years in our building. He has reliably responded to a couple emergencies we have had as well. He has always done stellar work. With our most recent plumbing needs, I asked him to change the configuration of our gas line and water lines to accommodate a larger washer and dryer unit that needed to fit into a small closet space. He came out and did all that work. After the installation, there was a slight adjustment in the hoses needed again. He and a crew of 2 other guys had to move this very heavy stacked W/D out of the closet. I also told him about an issue that the dryer was having with the a kink in the vent, figuring that we would get an HVAC guy to come fix it. I was reading about solutions on the internet for this problem, and by the time I got back to look at the work they had done, he already installed the 90 degree vent elbow to fix it! He's fantastic. Above all that, he didn't charge me anything. Thank you Leo!!!

We recently used Neighborhood Plumbing to handle replacement of our (very old) bathroom sink. Leo and his crew were very professional and did a beautiful job removing the 1930s sink/faucet/pipes and replacing with a more modern system. They were responsive, on time, hard working, and prices were extremely reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Neighborhood Pluming. Nice work!

Leo is amazing!! He has done several jobs in our house; he just fixed our shower and tiles. He is very professional, always on time and if he is running late he calls. I found Leo through Yelp, and I have to agree with all the others: he is amazing. Great guy, does very high quality work at great prices. He is very quick to respond and helps out with a huge range of issues, large and small. xHe has replaced my water heater, replace clogged pipe, fixed a dangerous gas leak, and advised on shower repair. I won't call anyone else, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

Leo is terrific! Totally legit, totally on-point, totally committed to delivering excellent customer service. I just moved into a new home and not a week or so later, some family were over and couldn't flush one of the toilets. I called Leo and he came over the very next day -- no mess, no fuss, totally fair and well-executed repair.
This past Saturday, I had some friends over and lo and behold, the same toilet -- same problem (wouldn't flush)! So I called Leo on Sunday afternoon and first thing Monday I hear from him -- when can he come by? He came by this morning and identified the problem -- which was in a different part than the one he had previously replaced. So, for the record, the new problem was totally unrelated to the original one.
All the same, he STILL fixed the new problem (including replacing the rubber suction part) free of charge. I almost hesitate to tell you that since I don't want that to become expected. But the bottom line is that he's earned the spot as my plumber going forward. He's got my business -- because I trust him and he delivers value (with a smile, friendly manner and the rest). Yay, Leo!! Yay, me! :-)
Leo at Neighborhood Plumbing is awesome. I woke up on a Saturday to a leaking toilet and after calling 12 other plumbing company's and receiving only answering machine's, I called Leo. Leo appreciated the urgency of the situation and arrived only 20 minutes after calling him. He even wore shoe protectors to keep our house clean!
Leo took the time to test and replace seal, but then noticed that we had a crack in the porcelain of the toilet. He ran out, bought a new toilet and installed it within an hour and didn't even charge for the time he took to replace the seal.
I will happily use Leo for any and all future plumbing needs. He is prompt, professional, and most of all a really nice guy.
Leo and his crew are really great! They got the job done and I waited for a few months before writing the review just to make sure the problem didn't come back, and it hasn't. Hard working team that didn't stop until they got to the root of the problem which turned out to be bigger than expected. I know who to go to whenever I have any plumbing issues from now on. Leo has helped us a number of times that last couple of years. He's highly repsonsive, explains the situation and alternatives clearly and then gets the work done quickly and with high quality. He's definitely our go to guy for all plumbing needs!
We had a backed up toilet that was immune to home plunging. I called Leo late in the evening and he showed up right away. He offered a quote and promptly fixed the issue. He was very friendly and obviously proficient. When he left I said, I hope I don't have to see you again, but if I need a plumber again it'll definitely be you! Then he also offered us a 30 day warranty. He definitely knows his stuff and goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is satisfied.
Great service! Leo and his team was on time and very professional. He even gave us a discount after the job is done according to the effort. Honest business. I am a fan now.
Leo has helped us several times. His work has always been awesome and fairly priced. He is easy to communicate with and always shows up on time. I'm now not worried when plumbing issues come up since we've worked with him. I usually don't like to have to call to get help fixing things because there can be problems with the work done or huge variances in cost. It's such a relief not to have that with Leo.

Had a leak in our run-off drain from roof. Called and Leo came out and looked at it right away and gave us an estimate, and we set an appointment for the repairs. Leo was prompt to the appointment and did fantastic work. He thoroughly showed us the work and that everything was working properly. On top of that, he's just a really nice guy and enjoyable to work with. His office manager is also really helpful. We've tried several plumbers here in the City but we'll definitely continue to use Neighborhood Plumbing.

Excellent Service!! This is my 2nd review. I manage a 9 unit building in Cow Hollow and have been using Leo and his guys for 4 years now. We've had water pipes rerouted, water heater installed, sinks snaked. What's most impressive is the service. I've never waited more than 15 minutes for a call back. He's even come out on a weekend for an emergency bathroom sink water leak.
Leo is the best! My mom's kitchen faucet started leaking this morning - she found that water had leaked across her counter, down onto the floor, and was dripping under her sink. Leo only had 2 reviews on yelp, but they were both excellent, so I called and left a message. It's a holiday week, so I didn't expect a prompt reply, but he called me back in about 3 minutes, and within 20 minutes was at my mom's house with his tools.
He was incredibly polite and greeted me at the door with his business card and thanked me for calling. He very thoughtfully removed his boots before coming in, and came upstairs to review the situation. He took the faucet apart and found 2 problems - a rubber washer that had gotten partially tucked under the faucet base, and another internal part that had become loose. He fixed both quickly and was careful to protect my mom's granite countertops from his tools.
He was courteous, skilled, and gave us a first-time customer discount. An excellent job. Thank you, Leo!
Had work done by Leo today and a few weeks ago. He arrived on time (on the early side of the window of time he gave me) and was very efficient and professional. Good communicator and what very practical about what was and was not worth fixing. Will definitely use Leo again.

Leo and Amber have been absolutely phenomenal! We had some extensive work done in our garage and driveway to fix bellies in our sewer line. Not only did Neighborhood Plumbing offer the best price and the best warranty, but their communication was great and the work was finished promptly.
After the work was done, Leo came back to the house to walk me through what was done and scope the pipe live so I could verify the fix. When the soil subsided after where the trench had been dug, Leo and his team quickly came back to the house to fix any imperfections.

Choosing a plumber is a precarious operation. Like most homeowners, I've felt taken advantage of on more than one occasion -- usually around matter of price or on efforts to induce me to spend money on unnecessary work. But having now found Leo of Neighborhood Plumbing, I couldn't be happier. Without going into every detail of the jobs that Leo performed for us regarding our bathroom sink blockage and new toilet installation, I'll just say that Leo demonstrated every quality I would want: honesty, integrity, value, reliability, responsiveness, and courtesy. My wife and I are very happy with his work, and we'll DEFINITELY be calling him on future occasions.
Our problem was not a small one. Major leak coming from the ceiling on the bottom floor. And occurred on Christmas Eve. We paid a fortune for another plumber to come and give us an estimate. His diagnosis was not only wrong, they never followed up to finish the job (thank god!).
In comes Leo Chavez of Neighborhood Plumbing. His office was quick to respond, set up an appointment, and Leo was ON TIME.
His estimate was more than fair- diagnosis spot on and he's both personable and respectful. He came the next day EARLY and did exactly as he said he would in an efficient and skillful manner. I've used other plumbers in the past but no longer. NP is it for me, and I would not hesitate to recommend Leo and his team for both large and small jobs. If you want an honest estimate, fast and efficient response time, super fair pricing, and great service- Neighborhood Plumbing is the one. Thanks Leo!

Because the leak we called him to fix wouldn't leak when he got there, Leo declared, I won't fix anything that doesn't need it. Then he checked every other faucet in the place to make sure and wouldn't take a dime for doing it.

Leo is the man! We have used Leo several times, but this last plumbing problem took the cake. We had an emergency pipe break on a Friday afternoon. We called Leo last minute and he not only came within the hour to give us an estimate, but he was able to work and fix the job over the weekend. The project ended up being bigger than expected, but Leo stuck to his quote and time frame. He did an incredible job and in a very timely manner. He did not charge us overtime or weekend charges. He is a great guy that does great work. I Highly recommend him!
Five stars for honesty, being on time and being a very nice man! Leo is absolutely a gem! He is a pleasure to get to know.

Leo and his team at Neighborhood plumbing are my go-to plumbers. After calling many plumbers around the city and even trying a few, Leo by far is my favorite! He is very responsive, and has been able to accommodate us for same-day appointments when we're in a pinch. His team is honest, reliable, and his rates are fair. The work they do is top-notch and while other plumbers tried to gouge us on rates or up-sell us, Leo was thorough, honest, and someone I really trust.
Leo has done work for us at both our home and rental properties. He helped us replace a leaking sewer line after sending a camera through to confirm there were roots in the pipe and unclog a few drains.
At our rental property he updated the plumbing and installed new fixtures during a kitchen and bathroom remodel. He was also able to recommend other trades when we needed it to help install a tile surround around the bathtub.
A great guy and resource. I wouldn't hesitate to use Neighborhood Plumbing for your plumbing needs!

I highly recommend Neighboorhood Plumbing. After moving into our new home we had a series of plumbing issues and we called a few businesses in the area. Leo responded promptly and came for a free walk-through. During the walk through he gave quotes for each item & suggested to try easier / cheaper fixes first to see if they worked before he'd have to undertake more complicated work. Leo came back a couple of days later and fixed everything as he promised. There were no surprises and he ended up charging a little less than quoted as he was able to fix rather than completely replacing the item. He's a great communicator & very professional; that coupled with a friendly can-do attitude made him extremely pleasant to work with. I will definitely call him for all of my plumbing needs in the future.

Our water heater went out on us on Dec. 30th. It was hard to find someone working. Leo came right over and got it working temporarily. It went out again on New Year's eve and Leo was still texting us asking if he needed help. He came again on New Years day and helped us out. We ended up replacing the water heater with a high quality Rheem unit that Leo flawlessly installed. He left everything neat and tidy. In short, a pleasure to have such a thoughtful plumber.

Leo and crew were consummate professionals. I couldn't be happier with the results. Leo pulled permits, coordinated and did everything according to schedule for a fair price.
I would certainly use them for outdoor plumbing work. If you EVER have any troubles with your P-Trap or Lateral, they're the guys to call.
I got a nastygram from the city saying I needed to fix the p-trap, so in addition to fixing that, I did the lateral as well. Leo himself was out there digging, cutting, sweating, toiling along with his guys and did everything to a perfect T. Inspection signed off, they buttoned it up, and it was like nothing happened.
Perfect guys for a big job in my opinion. Honestly you don't have to look anywhere else for a nice, honest guy, who can fix your stuff with quality, expediency, and care.

My mom's place had plumbing issues and without anyone in our rolodex, I turned to Yelp!
To be honest, Neighborhood Plumbing wasn't my first call, but because they were the FIRST to answer my desperate plea and give me an appointment for practically the next day - I went with them. I felt much better knowing I was one step closer to getting the plumbing issue fixed, but it bothered me that I would not be able to look the plumber in the eye or oversee the work that needed be done.
The morning of the appointment, I was closer to being reassured that I had made the right call when I got a friendly reminder text of the scheduled appointment time, which I thought was awesome. More awesomeness followed when Leo arrived early and fixed the problem just as quickly and professionally.
The office manager, Amber, was equally professional. She answered every email promptly.
While I hope, like most people do, I hope that I don't ever need to call on a plumber again any time soon... in the future, if I ever do need one again in that area, Neighborhood Plumbing will now be the FIRST CALL I make.

Leo to the rescue again! This time was not a big deal, but I did not know that, and I couldn't ignore the leaking laundry faucet. Plus I did not have the right tool. Leo came about 1/2 hour after I called, fixed the leak in about 5 minutes, and would not let me pay him. I would never call anyone else and by now Leo has done both big and little jobs and he has our highest recommendation!

Can't add more to the accolades Leo gets. They are all true. He is the boy scout of plumbing. Fast, reassuring, fair, resourceful, and yes always responsive to your call. Did a water heater switch out last year and just this year a complicated conversion of our wash room pipes to tub, washer etc and it all worked out like a perfect jigsaw puzzle. Leo is our man- I guess we will have to share him as he gets more popular.

Leo and his team are amazing! Neighborhood Plumbing, arrived 15 minutes early, texted and emailed letting me know they were here. They came to remove an old vanity, install a new one, and install a faucet in the kitchen. They were a pleasure to work with. Leo showed me some tricks on how to maintain my appliances. The rest of the team working in the bathroom seamlessly worked around a few obstacles and installed our vanity. My wife and I couldn't be happier with the results.
Side note: Our basement flooded back in October. Another company said the flooding was a problem due to our upper lateral and quoted us $15K to fix it. We called Leo for a second opinion. He came by, checked the basement and lower lateral and ran a level to double check the other company's findings. Leo said that there was nothing wrong with our upper lateral and the problem was on the city's side. Leo was 100% correct. We're now working with the city to address the problem. Leo did all of this for free and saved us $15K.
Stand up guys, 10 year old family business, nothing less than perfect workmanship - the city needs more businesses like Neighborhood Plumbing.
Leo and team are my family's plumbers.

I found Leo while his van was parked in front of my house. I had been calling every plumber in town, and nobody had the time to come by or bother to return my call.
He was working two doors down from me. I called and he called me back within 5 minutes. Leo rescued us from water backing up in the garage a couple of times, and lastly he replaced the pipes going from the garage to the street, just days before Thanksgiving. He was amazing and reliable. I got back from our TG trip and everything was fixed so beautifully, That i didn't even notice the sidewalk had been torn apart.
Leo is the only one I call when I need to get any work done.

Leo and his guys are well prepared, professional, courteous, and efficient. My building hired him to replace valves and hoses, but I'm saving his info for myself now, as well. I'm happy to finally have a plumber I can trust.
The guys at Neighborhood Plumbing are great. I've worked with them on a couple different projects and have found the service consistent and of good quality. From permit to inspections, the work is done quickly and without issues. There seem to be a higher proportion of somewhat dishonest tradesmen in plumbing, but these guys have been fair and honest. I highly recommend them for both plumbing repair, rough in plumbing and finish plumbing. Leo, the owner, is also a great guy. Will I use again? Com certeza!

Another great experience with Leo, Amber and the Neighborhood Plumbing team this past week. Team showed up on time, did the job promptly and were very careful with cleaning up before they left. These are our go-to guys for any plumbing needs.
Had a sewer line replaced and a couple of other things done. Leo and his team did a fantastic job! They were responsive, quick, and the work looks good. They handled all of the permitting and took care of everything.
You could tell that they took pride in their work. They were straight forward and upfront about everything. Amber (on the business side) was super easy to deal with, too. Thank goodness for her! She was quick to respond to emails and answer any questions.
Would definitely work with them again. The process was very smooth and they were very easy to deal with. Sadly, I've learned that many of these traits are not very common among contractors. These guys are the real deal!
I can't say enough about Leo and his team. They came in and rescued me after I had a terrible experience with a different plumbing service. Leo is professional, punctual and timely in his work. They completed an entire bathroom remodel in a very short amount of time. I will definitely be using this service again.
I just finished my second job with NP, and can't believe how good both experiences have gone. Just wanted to echo the previous reviews. Leo is extremely friendly and patient with questions, punctual, clean/careful around your things, knowledgeable, etc. A few things went sideways with a simple valve replacement, due to my house being ancient, but he fixed them and handled the extra time without thinking to charge me for it.
There were a few things done by previous plumbers that he pointed out as inefficient or not up to code, but he did not disparage their work in any way, describing things in a positive, professional manner. A sign of strong character.

Our house has galvanized cold water piping but copper hot water. Recently one of the cold water pipes burst, so we decided to replace the cold water pipes. We interviewed a number of plumbing companies and selected Neighborhood Plumbing to give us a quote based on the overwhelming number of positive reviews at this site.
Leo came to look at the job. To keep the cost down, I wanted to run the new copper pipes on the outside of the building. Leo spent 30 minutes with me laying out the best way to run the copper piping in the large stairwell area of our building (none of the pipes would be visible when standing out on the street or in our backyard). I also wanted to increase the cold water pipe size so that we could add additional bathrooms in the future.
Leo is friendly, courteous and personable, but serious about his work. I knew he and I would work well together because I keep tabs on contractors that work on my house.
Leo was great. Over the two weeks it took to complete the job, he arrived early every day except one time. He did call that one time and had actually alerted us the day before that he might be late that day. He did a terrific job on the plumbing and had no trouble working with me when I wanted to change the layout to one that would work better aesthetically. We also had to replace the cold water line to the meter in the sidewalk and Leo did both the piping and concrete work. He pulled the permits and handled the inspectors.
Leo is honest and reliable. He is not the type of contractor that tries to change order you (although I did add some additional work to the job which did increase the cost).
We are extremely happy with his work and will be using Neighborhood Plumbing for all of our plumbing needs. We've been recommending him to family and friends.
One last important item. His quote was very competitive with the five other bids that we got and we're extremely glad that we selected him. I'm planning to add a bathroom within the next couple of years, and Leo will be our plumber for that job. He's already given me some ideas about the most cost-effective way to add a bathroom.
I called Neighborhood around lunch on Monday December 12 and they arrived later that afternoon. They determined what the problem was and had my heat working in less than an hour. I have used this company for both heating and air and also plumbing and have always found them to be very reliable. I would recommend them to friends and family.
Leo has done numerous projects and repairs to our house. He responds quickly to email or phone calls. His work is excellent. For example, he replaced our broken hot water heater/tank within hours. He has also done excellent work switching all our old pipes to new copper ones. I highly recommend Leo from Neighborhood Plumbing

I submitted a request on-line and received a response immediately from Neighborhood Plumbing. I was able to get an appointment that fit my schedule. On the day of the repair, Leo arrived on time and was extremely polite, courteous and knowledgable. The clog my sink had was more challenging to fix than expected. Leo took the time and effort to get the parts and repaired it to my satisfaction. I highly recommend Neighborhood Plumbing.
Love the fast and responsive service from Leonardo. We had problems with a sink & a toilet in our place of business. He was able to respond within 2 hours & had the problems fixed in a short time at a reasonable price. Leo lets you know that he appreciates your business and that he will be there for you when you need him. Other plumbers we have tried are slow to respond & not nearly as user friendly.

The Neighborhood Plumbing team is fantastic. They are extremely responsive to emails, fast at scheduling and when we've needed them, they are available within a day or two. I also appreciate that they are very clean - they always wear shoe covers and clean up after their work.
And the best part? They show up ON TIME. You can actually plan your day and know they will be there when they say they will. They've done everything from for us from resealing a toilet to the floor to fixing impossible drains. A very professional crew!

Leo is the best plumber in the whole world, maybe even the whole universe! He was early, friendly, outrageously efficient, honest and transparent about my somewhat sketchy decision to have a portable washer/dryer in my rental unit, and charged next to nothing for all his help. I didn't think plumbers like Leo existed.
One morning last week, I woke up to NO water in my kitchen sink! Water was running but nothing came out of the faucet, it poured out under the sink and onto the kitchen floor. Mess....I called the HOA referred plumber and no one was responded for 24 hrs. Finally the HOA gave me they referred plumber- no experience with this 'specialized' part. 48hrs later, they referred another plumber who wasn't available until the END of next week. 72 hrs later without a access to my kitchen sink, I received a lead from a friend who referred Leo. He was great. He rolled in 2 hrs later, no concern about 'specialized parts', and had the new sink installed in 30 min. Hello. He will be the one I call First next time! Thanks Leo!

I bought Toto toilet Neorest RH at Excel plumbing.
This toilet is expensive so I asked the store to recommend a good plumber who is familiar with the installation. They gave me Leo's card. I emailed Leo , received quick reply about the appointment and was offered the installation the next day after the appointment. So far so good.
Leo came and was very pleasant person and emailed me the bid the same day.
I felt his bid was high and invited Advanced Plumbing for the second bid, because this was not emergency.
Gabriel from Advanced Plumbing quoted the price which was almost three time less than Leo's. I accepted and Gabriel started installation right away and finished the job to my complete satisfaction.
Leo is probably a good plumber , based on Yelp, and has the right to charge any fee he wants and assumes that the customer from Pacific Heights, where I live, is stupid and will pay any inflated price.
People please have another bid when hiring Neighborhood Plumbing.
We had a clogged sink in our office. With a small snake, we took it apart and tried to fix it ourselves -- we failed. Leo came over and had it unclogged in 15 minutes.

Well, my hot water heater got tired of working and wanted to see if I wanted an indoor pool instead. After thinking about a possible pool, I decided my wife would prefer hot water.
I needed to get this fixed- and fast. After turning the water off I jumped on yelp and found NP and left for work...

I had a friend come over to the house to watch my dogs and help the contractors get access.

Yes this really is as good as it gets! Leo is an amazing, attentive and responsive plumber. We had to replace a leaking gas line and where others did not want to get into the attic, Leo did and came up with a solution and did the job. He worked hard, pulled a permit, met the inspector, tested and constantly stayed in touch with us as we do not live on site. He went above and beyond!

We have just finished a laborious plumbing project in our building and Leo and his team did a terrific job in record time. I know from past projects that he is an intelligent, meticulous, plumber, and master sleuth at tracking down the source of leaks - he solved one seemingly intractable problem with a small arcane fix that saved us more money than I care to contemplate - but this project involved multiple units and people and he did his usual thorough, gracious and cost effective job.
Leo is great! He showed up on time (actually he was 5 minutes early, which is bonus points in my book). He is fast and reliable. I would recommend neighborhood plumbing to anyone.
Had an issue with a water heater these folks installed five years ago. They showed up less than an hour after my call to them, fixed the problem, and made sure the new parts were covered by warranty. If you want a plumber who is responsible and professional, Leonardo is your man.

Well I have to join the chorus here in totally commending Leo for an amazing job and above and beyond service.
First, a quick note on a review below. Leo finished nearly $7k of work at my building and in my unit just over a month ago and has yet to make any mention or comment about me posting on Yelp. I purposefully waited to see if he brought it up or tried to bribe a review, and can vouch 100% he hasn't.
For his actual work, he was honestly so far above and beyond the call of duty. He was installing a W/D and took total initiative of the project, working with the delivery company after my error in having the units delivered while painting was going on. He brought in his own electrician to upgrade electrical and spent 2 days waiting for the guy to make sure the job was done right. He communicated constantly and always just found solutions where other contractors or plumbers would flood me with problems.
It's really amazing to have found him. Thank you Leo, I hope I can work with you for many years to come.

Honest and reliable: You know most time homeowners do not really need to have the main pipe changed but all plumbers would tell them you need to replace it so thousands of $$$ are gone. Leo, on the other hand, is the most honest and reliable plumber I've ever seen. Fast response: Our main pipe got clogged two weeks ago and we were told that we need to change the main pipe. Due to the high cost and unfamiliarity with this issue ourselves, we decided to go for a second opinion. Leo from Neighborhood Plumbing responded to my free estimate inquiry immediately and managed to arrive at our place at 6pm, only two hours after I made the phone call.
Professional service: Leo checked our main pipe with his camera very thoroughly. There was a moment his tool couldn't go through but Leo managed to make it work. It took him about 30 minutes to finish the entire check-up and he was completely honest about the condition of our main pipe. He told us there was no sinking problem and we could just have it regularly snaked then we should be fine. I was seriously considering changing the main pipe to avoid headache later on so Leo based on my request sent me an estimate with work proposal and 20-year warranty on the same night. We were very impressed about his fast response. Later on Leo and I have been and are still communicating via emails with regards to the best solution method. Leo always responds very fast and right to the point. Given his busy schedule, I know he does it because he really cares for his customers.
In all, this is the BEST plumber in the city and I would recommend him to all homeowners who are in need of a reliable, honest, professional plumber.
Leo and his team did an excellent job replacing the main sewer line from our house to the street. They completed the project very quickly - and with ample consideration to Steven and I. We were only minimally inconvenienced overall - which is saying a lot for this kind of project.

Leo is amazing. On a cold Thursday night at 8:15pm our drain line in our 12 unit condo building backed up and needed to be snaked. In 20 minutes Leo arrived, did the job and couldn't be more satisfied. If you need a plumber, Leo is the guy.

Leo is great! I could tell you the heroic adventure of his conquering what he described as the clog of the year, but the point is it was a disaster that Leo conquered with a unmatched grace and ease. Wouldn't think about calling anyone else should another problem arrise.
