The Plumbing Guy

I have used the Plumbing Guy twice. They are a family run operation. Very responsive. They will tell you if they can come, or not, or if anything changes. I appreciate the plumber, Paul,  always educating on what might be done differently,  what tools might work best,  what kinds of mastering work better/last longer. Can't comment on price. I have nothing to compare it to.

When my kitchen ceiling started leaking this past Sunday morning, Paul jumped into the shower and headed right over,  putting my worries to ease.

Paul and his wife Shelley are simply great. I had what I thought was a big issue.  They squeezed me in to prevent it from getting worse. Fortunately it was not as bad as I initially thought.  Paul diagnosed it quickly, made the repair, and did not do an unnecessary major fix.  He was fair and reasonable in his pricing.  I highly recommend them.

Highly recommend. He was able to come out the next day due to a cancellation and replaced our garage disposal. Nice, friendly, and efficient. Will use again.

We have used The Plumbing Guy for years!!  Paul is honest, reliable and always does a great job!  We have used him for everything plumbing related from emergencies to installing new faucets.  I highly recommend him!!

Paul did a fantastic job replacing the drain pipe for the laundry washing machine in our garage.  Paul and Shelley were both wonderful in keeping the lines of communication open so we all were on the same page regarding timing, cost and other details of the job.  I highly recommend The Plumbing Guy if you want an honest, reliable plumber who will tell you exactly what the problem is and fix it for a fair price in a timely manner.

We have used The Plumbing Guy in the past for various clogs and leaks and have been impressed by Paul's promptness and efficiency, but we were never more appreciative of his services than we were after the February ice storm.
We had a burst pipe in our family room, and Paul came out as quickly as he could and spent a tremendous amount of time at our house making sure everything was repaired correctly.  We also were concerned about a potential second leak, and were impressed that instead of hacking into our walls immediately, Paul was very careful and did some investigation of his own, ultimately concluding that what we thought was a second leak was related to the first.  We've had plenty of plumbers in the past who would have opted for the additional business, and we were grateful for Paul's honesty, in addition to his skill and responsiveness.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Plumbing Guy. Paul has done work at my house on two different occasions, and both jobs were really difficult. Paul did outstanding work both times, and I couldn't be happier.

If you need an honest plumber who does great work, Paul is the guy to call.

If I could give less than one star I would. The lady that answered the phone and took the message never called me back to schedule the service I needed.

Prompt, reasonable, very knowledgeable, fixed all our problems without trying to sell us on exorbitant and/or unneeded projects.  Paul has had both covid shots but wears a mask also.

I have had Paul do work for us multiple times; he is very honest, does a great job and is reasonably priced.  I also contacted them multiple times with questions about the historic freeze and they were so quick and happy to answer.  Couldn't recommend them enough!

Paul and Shelley went above and beyond to help us with our major plumbing issue in our house. They were quick, professional, and performed quality work. I could not recommend them more. This will be the only plumber I use in the future!

Omg! I called on a Friday night and they came out Saturday AM! They replaced our water heater in 1 1/2 hours. Friday night they had to trouble shoot it first and found out it needed to be replaced. Their price was fair and affordable. The whole staff was nice, friendly and efficient. I will definitely use them again or refer them to people I know. Thanks for everything! :)

I just want to give a huge shoutout to Paul Weitz, The Plumbing Guy! Earlier today I tried to help my husband wrap the pipes outside our house. I accidentally bent the pipe a tad to far and the pipe snapped, leaving a gush of water to continue to spew out for over an hour. I called out Paul in an emergency. Once he got to our house he knew he needed more hands than just himself. He came back an hour later with more hands to assist. They had to dig up first to get to our water meter reader which for some reason was under lots of dirt and grass to turn off the main water line and then they were able to fix the pipe. He and his staff went above and beyond on a Saturday well into the evening to make sure that we weren't stuck (with 4 kids) with out water to our house during the deep freeze we are about to have. He finished the job by wrapping our pipes for us so that we won't have any problems. If you are in need of a plumber, make sure to give The Plumbing Guy a call!!!!!

We have been using Paul for 10+ years for plumbing needs - emergency and maintenance.  He is a true professional and gets to the point.  You know and get what you pay for.  EXCELLENT Plumber and I would recommend him hands down to anyone else.

Paul has come out to our place twice now to resolve a nasty toilet clog and another time to replace a toilet.  Both experiences have been superb.  Shelley helped us efficiently set appointments both times making us feel like a priority.  Pricing is very fair and discussed upfront so there are no surprises.  Paul is very efficient and both times the work done was great.  We will continue to use and recommend the plumbing guy going forward.  Thank you guys!

We had used another plumbing company for a few years, but they just haven't been able to fix our issues without charging an arm and a leg (and the repairs were suspect.).  So after the latest issue around the house, we decided to call The Plumbing Guy based on the good reviews here on Yelp.

We had a major leak under our pier-and-beam house, and both Paul and Ben were able to get our issue fixed with no excuses or sales gimmicks.  Paul is very straight-forward about the job that needs to be done, and his prices were very fair.  They did the job quickly and thoroughly at a price that that didn't make me feel like they were trying to rip me off.  

I'd recommend The Plumbing Guy to anyone who needs a plumbing job - big or small- done right.

I highly recommend The Plumbing Guy. Shelly is a delight to talk to scheduling your appointment and she listens to your needs. Paul did his best to get to us the same day we called. He replaced a kitchen sink that was leaking badly. His work was excellent and his years of experience shows. He was thorough and neat and the prices are reasonable. We have found our plumber! No longer do we have to wait for well meaning family members who may or may not show! Thank you Shelly and Paul!

We were referred to Paul by a good friend. A simple kitchen faucet leak turned into much more and that's when we called for help. We let them know we were headed out of town and Paul was there the next morning. He pretty much had to do surgery on the pipe coming in from the outside into the house. He was here 2.5 hours and did a wonderful job. It looks like the job he did will outlast the house and us.

Seriously, look no further for the best plumber in town - Paul knows all there is to know in his field and then some and he always charges a fair price. I previously used Abacus Plumbing for a leaky pipe and it cost me $2500.  Paul has done a lot more work for me than the plumber did on that occasion for significantly less money.

We noticed that we could smell gas whenever we opened our back door and went on the back deck.  I called Centerpoint and they came out that evening, determined that there was a gas leak somewhere under our pier and beam house, said that it was our problem as the homeowner, and removed our gas meter.  I did not know where to start to get the leak fixed and was worried we were going to be taking cold showers for a week.  All the Centerpoint guy could tell me was to find a master plumber.  That was actually helpful advice since I had no idea what type of professional would do such a repair.  In any case, based on positive yelp reviews I decided to call The Plumbing Guy in the morning.  He was able to fit me in at the end of the day.  He and Ben came out and ran a pressure test to find the location of the leak and located it there under our back deck.  Paul warned me that it wasn't an easy fix and also that if any gas-fed appliances were not up to code we would have to replace them in order to get a permit and pass inspection.  He also warned that he might be required to replace a lot more than just the leaky pipe to pass inspection since all of our piping is super-old (our house was built in 1940).  The next morning he went to go talk to the West U inspector with whom he is on a first name basis and got the permit to begin work, he and Ben spent most of the day to complete all the necessary work and then he got the inspector back out later that day to pass the work, which he did.  The inspector called Centerpoint there on the spot and told them to come out and give us our meter back and amazingly Centerpoint came by the end of the day and we were back in business.  The whole thing was amazingly and surprisingly painless.  I just sat back while Paul took care of everything.  

Just a couple of weeks later, my in-laws decided to purchase an expensive reverse osmosis water filtration system for our kitchen sink.  It took my father-in-law two days to install it.  Thanks Dad.  Our kitchen flooded.  There was water gushing out from under the sink.  This was on Good Friday.  My husband turned the water off and Paul and Ben came out within a few hours of my call.  He did a quick fix of the saddle valve that came with the filtration system but warned that saddle valves are not really in use anymore and he couldn't guarantee the repair as he normally would.  Indeed we noticed the next day that there still water slowly dripping from somewhere under the sink.  Paul and Ben came back out and determined that the saddle valve had actually held but that our faucet was leaking now and needed to be replaced.  So we went to Home Depot and bought the faucet and Paul and Ben came back to install it.  They also fixed our toilet upstairs and the faucet upstairs.  Lol, our plumbing was a mess!  For as long as we've lived in our house (3 years) you have to hold the handle down to flush the upstairs toilet for like 3-4 seconds in order for it to flush.  They fixed that, no problem.  And the faucet upstairs was actually a repair of my husband's attempt to install a new faucet from Home Depot himself last year.  The handles to turn the water on and off were all loose and wobbly and he never installed the drain stopper that came with the fixture set.  Again, they took care of that, no problem.

So you see, I have had a lot of experience at this point with Paul's work and as I stated in the beginning, Paul really knows his sh*t!

I've been using Paul for years. He is a Master Plumber, extremely honest and knowledgeable. His wife Shelley manages the business. Great service, highly recommend.

I was pleased with our experience with the Plumbing Guy. We had a clogged sink and could not use it. We called the Plumbing Guy and he fit us into his schedule and came over one day later. They did a great job and our sink works well now. Thanks a lot!

We have called several times beforehand and no one answers the phone. Yesterday we finally got through and the lady said she would call us back for times. She never did. We tried again today and finally she said Paul and them would come out however there is a flat service fee of $125. I was thinking that is way too expensive especially since we didn't have a major leak or anything. Our faucet wasn't working and no water was coming out. However, since we needed it fix, I said okay. When they came out, they only worked on the faucet for less than 2 minutes and it was fixed. Nothing was really wrong. I thought he could at least bring down the price but he refused. Really with the phone service and the way overpriced fee, try another place. I felt robbed because it was not worth the price they charged! I was recommended but seriously, go somewhere else unless they compensate us back.

Fixed  my gas leak at a much better rate than the competitors.  They didn't try to sell me anything i didn't need and were honest about the whole process.   I had another plumber that wanted to replace my entire gas line and said it wouldn't pass inspection otherwise.  Over all I'm happy with their fair pricing and honest work.  Thanks for the good business

My hot water heater went out. It was an inexpensive Whirlpool heater my brother installed for me about 4 years ago. It is a gas heater and the pilot light kept going out. So I looked on my Next Door app to see who my neighbors recommended for repairs. The Plumbing Guy was very highly rated and since I had only used ARS for years (but I was never happy with their costs and service) I decided to break away from them and try someone new. I talked to Shelly on Monday and after discussing my issue with her I decided to just break the bank and go with a good reliable replacement. Her husband Paul? came out that very evening and gave me a very reasonable estimate. By Tuesday at at 12 I had a new hot water heater (up to code) which mine was not before. I was VERY happy with the efficient service I received.  I would absolutely recommend them. You won't be sorry. He is a little gruff and could smile a little more. He is totally all business. But don't be put off by that. Overall it was a good experience.

Called The Plumbing Guy because of a very bad intermittent ceiling leak we were having in our kitchen.  One time the leak was a real gusher coming from the kitchen ceiling and another time several weeks later it was leaking, but there was much less water this time.  Tried several difference plumbers (recommended on Yelp), and they told me that the tub and shower in the bathroom from which the leak seemed to be coming was not the problem, but didn't have any ideas what the problem could be.  Had a roofer out, who said the roof was not the problem.

It was Paul, The Plumbing guy, who persevered to find the source of the problem: the AC was draining the wrong way and going outside and pouring down the side of my house and then into the kitchen.  Others literally told me everything was fine (REALLY?  I watched the water pour down my walls and onto my wood floors) but Paul persevered to find the source of the problem (even though it wasn't a plumbing problem), was all over the outside and inside of my house and took the time to explain everything thoroughly and show me what the problem was.  He was so enthusiastic about my understanding that he also explained it to my houseguests, who enjoyed the tutorial.

Paul was here quite a while (several hours I think) and I thought his prices were very reasonable.  So impressed by him, I have him lined up to rerun the exterior gas lines for an outdoor project we're doing and also to do a remodel of my master bath.

Called and within three rings Shelly answered the phone.  She was pleasant and asked all the relevant questions.  But, alas, I live too far out for them to help me.  However Shelly took a step that she didn't have to take.  She took her time and found a company out my way for me to call!  Now when was the last time anyone saw a company do that!    

Sigh... just called Epic Services the company recommended and they can't come out today!  I guess I'll have to pee in a bucket tonight.  LOL

WOW!  Fantastic, precise service and such a pleasant, easy plumbing experience!  Spoke to Shelley after lunch and received a call back saying Paul and Ben were on their way later that afternoon.  Same day service without any additional cost!  Paul worked quickly and offered tips and suggestions on how to avoid a potentially devastating flooding situation inside the house. If you have a bathroom sink that backs up with water,  don't bother with Draino or a plunger, you're going to need a professional to come out and make sure the issue is done correctly.  Call The Plumbing Guy! I would recommend The Plumbing Guy to all my friends and family.  They are professional, knowledgeable, and honest with great work ethic.  We need more companies like this!  I will continue to use them for all my plumbing needs.

I had called a larger plumbing company about my toilets, they said I needed to replace them both for a large price (you could tell they were working for commission).  I called The Plumbing Guy, the plumber was on time, very professional, knowledgeable and honest!  He didn't try to sell me something I didn't need which is refreshing.  He rebuilt the tank on one and replaced some parts on the other for a fair price. Before he left he verified no leaks and that they were working properly. They both have been flushing perfectly ever since!  Thank you so much!

I called this morning at 8:20.  I never got a call back.  I called again at 10:15; they didn't mention they even knew that I had left a detailed message.  I explained my various plumbing problems to the woman on the phone and she said well the estimate is not going to be free (they advertise free estimates, so what's that about!?).  She advised there is an automatic $125 service charge.  I said thanks, but no thanks.  FALSE ADVERTISING.  I'm disappointed bc of all of the great reviews, but they first got a strike against them for not returning my call and now this.  I won't use.

We had a kitchen sink with clogged and leaking pipes. Even though they were very busy, Shelly was able to get Paul out to us ahead of schedule! Fast, efficient, and courteous.  He found the clog (grease way down the line), he removed and replaced the corroded and damaged pipes, cleaned up thoroughly when he was done, and made sure everything worked smoothly before he left.  His fee was fair and square and worth every penny.

I called The Plumbing Guy after reading a few good recommendations on my homeowner association website.  Dale came promptly, and very efficiently fixed a disposal that had been installed incorrectly by a previous plumber and a new toilet in a secondary bathroom.  When he popped the old toilet out, he noticed a lot of leaking which caused brown slimy residue on the tile underneath the toilet.  He asked me for cleaning supplies so he could clean it up--something with bleach, he said.  Wow!  I've never had a plumber clean up a mess before.  Prices were probably higher than I would normally pay but given that I've paid plumbers in the past to install basic items (like disposals) and not been happy with the results, I've decided to pay a little more to ensure a good result.  I would definitely recommend them.

Outstanding customer service, extremely knowledgeable, the best you can get! I had a plumbing leak which had caused extensive wood rot damage. I was in a rush and Paul was busy that day, so I called another plumber out, who spent 2 days messing around and never found the leak, plus charged me a ridiculous fee for getting nothing accomplished. He told me there was no leak and it was just water splash from the shower. Something didn't sit right with me, so I called Paul for a 2nd opinion. Within 45 minutes, Paul had found the leak!!! OMG can you imagine if I had listened to the 1st plumber and simply re-tiled and covered everything up, assuming all was ok?! Paul was amazing and I will never call another plumber. Not to mention that Paul's fee was FAR LESS than that of the incompetent plumber. His wife Shelley is the best office manager you can ask for -- responsive, great with follow-through, honest, meticulous. Don't even consider another plumber - call Paul Weitz the Plumbing Guy! I now live in California but still own property in Houston and Paul is my go-to plumber. You know when you live out-of-state you need someone ultra trustworthy, and Paul's that guy.

With all these stellar review, I am worried that Paul, the plumbing guy, will be too busy to tend to our needs. He worked on our house nearly 7 years ago when we were building it.  He was an employee of another company.  We liked his work and his work ethic. When he went out on his own, we continued to use him.  He didn't even own a truck.  Last time he was here he had 2 vans and people working for him.  This is a mom & pop business not one of the large international plumbing businesses whose servicemen work at least partly on commission.  Their goal is to sell the home owner the most expensive parts and repairs.  Not Paul.  He and his wife Shelly run an honest service oriented business.  We have 12 bathrooms so we are in need of  a plumber from time to time. Many of them decide to charge extra b/c of the size of our house.  Paul does not do that.

I have used several plumbers over the years, but a few years ago I found The Plumbing Guy to be the best.  Paul and Shelley Weitz own the business.  They are honest and extremely hardworking.  They work really hard to make their satisfy their customers and accommodate their schedules.  Paul came out a few days ago to do some work on our house.  Strangely enough this morning the hot water went out while I was taking a shower.  I thought maybe we had used up the hot water, but this evening when I came back home it still wasn't working.  I called and left a message for them at 7:30 PM - nothing urgent, but just saying it was something I'd like to get an appointment for.  Shelley called me back within a few minutes and Paul was here at 8:30 PM to check on it.  Fortunately it was only a pilot light that went out, and he didn't even charge me for it!  I feel bad that he had to come out so late at night when he could be at home resting and tucking in his kids.  But, they said that is how their business has been lately.  They work hard, are honest, charge fair prices, and do a great job so they are in demand.  If you need a good plumber, look no further than The Plumbing Guy!   713-771-8000

The Plumbing Guy is a family-run company that is hard to beat.  The plumber is Paul and is reliable and professional.  His wife, Shelly, runs the office and books the appointments.  Both give great service.  I am using them remotely to do repairs for my tenants in a condo in Houston; and as I no longer live in Houston, I rely on them completely to help me out with all plumbing repairs.  I have now used them twice, once to do repairs to toilets and now for hot water heater repair.  Am exceptionally pleased with their work, prompt service, professional manner,  and highly recommend them.

Best plumber. Paul and Shelly are so professional and honest. Paul is extremely knowledgable and has always taken the time to explain to me in detail what the issue is. He really loves what he does and really likes his customers to know what is going on, too. The company is very responsive to their customers (my friends use them, too) and their prices are very fair. Can't recommend them highly enough.

This is a great company. Paul Weitz is very knowledgeable and professional. He provided very reasonable quote for replacing the piping system in my house. The reason I didn't give five stars was I am a little dispointed with the plumber did the work. The plumebr is ok and knows what he is doing, just not quite into details as Paul did. At the end, Paul had to come out a couple of times ro fix the loose ends.
