Made appt w/ ARS to replace Reme-Halo air purifier cell for Sat 3-13-21 between 12-5pm. What a waste of a Saturday, sitting at home waiting on these clowns to show up. When I told a neighbor ARS was coming to do the work, his immediate reply was ARS.....Good Luck with that. He guaranteed me ARS would not show up, because they never do. This is how ARS does business. Saturday came and not only did they not show up and waste my whole Saturday sitting at home waiting on them, ARS didn't even have the courtesy to call and let me know something. Never use these clowns. They are a joke and could care less about customer service. When you call to ask why no one showed up or called, they go into their top 101 B.S. reasons why they can't do their job. Bla Bla Bla.....

Oh how I wish I would have read these reviews before I got involved with this company. They sold me an HVAC system that they didn't install but did charge me for. Now trying to get a response is mind numbing. The installers lied and I have not gotten any remedy thus far. I'm thinking about going to court but don't know if that will accomplish anything but spending more money. I don't want to throw away good money after bad. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.

The lack of effort to take care of a customer is unbelievable. Brand New AC unit has failed twice in the first year of ownership. The company has allowed my family and I to go without AC for days.

The unit has leaked and caused damage to my ceiling the first time it failed. They had to send a contractor out to fix.

Now that its failed again, a month later, they continue to want to replace parts instead of replacing the entire unit.

We are never first priority on appointments when we are a major issue. My wife is having to sit in a hot house with dogs that have been throwing up because its so hot.

The lack of actual attention to these matters are absurd. I could write a novel of all the things they've done wrong or have said to us. Their HAPPY CHECK' means absolutely nothing.

Wouldn't do business with this company again.  No complaint with the service done, but we paid them the day it was done and then 9 months later I get a collections letter that we didn't pay them without ever receiving another bill from them in that time frame.  The times I've tried calling them they've said they would have to have someone from another department handle that and then no call back.  Terrible customer service.

Edited to add the reply received also not helpful as the number posted that gave a person's name took me to a call center in which they had never heard of said person and just ended up transferring me back to the original Nashville office that again did not return my call.

Furnace warranty work is costing me $450 to replace a $255 covered by warranty part AND it is going to take two weeks to get the part put in, it is only 57* downstairs in my house. Apparently, they only have one supply house

Had a problem with sewage backing up in the shower and bath tub. Techs came out to figure out the issue, and determined the sewage line was backed up but was not able to run the camera through to line because another tech had it. Had to go through the weekend with the issue. The salesman came out on Tuesday with the camera said the line was broken due to tree roots. He gave me a quote to replace all pipes under the house to the street which I felt the price was kind of high but I was desperate with this situation. He quoted the price and a two day completion. The entire process took two and a half weeks. He failed to tell the techs about all the issues under the house. Standing water and other issues. He wanted to have the techs drill a hole in my foundation to drain the water and sewage into a hole in my front yard. My answer NO. Finally the supervisor and Mitchell the tech found a work around to get into the crawl space to do the work. I would not recommend ARS to anyone due to the lack of communication and overpricing. Mitchell and Wendell are great techs as well as all the helpers Mitchell was training during this process. He should have gotten paid two salaries one for plumbing and one for babysitting.  Nashville TN

I needed my hot water heater replaced and i requested a quote. A tech called me back and explained in detail what current codes required and the quote. The main office called me back soon after that to set up an appointment for first thing the next morning.
Dispatch called that morning saying they would be a little late, someone called out (stuff happens). I appreciated that they kept me updated. Jason and his partner arrived soon after that and did a great job installing the water heater!
Everyone I spoke to was very customer focused. I would definitely use them again.

Asked for an annual tune up. $38 later no tune up, but I did get advice that getting two new units would be my best option. Got a second opinion. Systems are in great shape.  Wish I would have known this earlier. I could have spent the $38 on a gallon of gas.

AC goes out in 96 degree evening.  Called for tech at 4:40 pm, guaranteed to send someone by 7 or 7:30.  No one showed or called or came as we waited and didn't call another service company.  I called back and asked if I should call another company.  They said no, someone will be there.  Antoine LIED.   BAD BAD way to treat customers.

They were sent by Home Depot and called to give me an estimate over the phone because he said he was two hundred miles away. I told him which hot water heater I wanted and the warranty. He gave me an estimate for the unit and warranty I wanted. They came the next day but installed a cheaper unit with a lesser warranty but with the same charge as the better unit. They gave me a receipt that said only installed 50 gal. hot water heater .  This was the only paperwork I received. After three phone calls, I still don't have a owners manual or anything about the warranty.  Be sure to get everything in writing , the salesperson forgets everything he agrees to very fast.

Had a great experience starting with my sales person Grady, who worked hard to get me good pricing and understand my needs.
Then Keith and Brandon, the HVAC installers, were on time, were professional and made sure I was happy. Best part is they made the experience fun!

I received a call on Monday to remind me about the prepaid service I have for my new heater unit.  I did buy a new unit that they installed 1.5 years ago, and had a prepaid service to my HVAC unit last summer, so this was expected to service the other half of the functionality, the heater/furnace.

I was able to get scheduled for two days later (today), but when the technician arrived, he asked me if I would be signing up for the ARS Service Plan or paying the $69.99 for the tune up today.

I was astonished.  Why was this heater services solicited to me, lured in by the reminder you have a prepaid service, only to have the service appointment list that I have to sign up for the service plan or pay more money?  The technician even went so far as to show me the schedule appointment notes, where it explicitly said that I would have to sign up or pay.

This is the second time ARS has tried to gouge more money out of me than necessary, even going so far as to try to get me to pay thousands more for them to finish the job they didn't finish in the first, which resulted in the destruction of an entire room of furniture and electronics from duct sweating.  We still have some minor issues, but I cannot trust ARS to come out and do any more without them trying to get even more money out of me.

$16,000 for a new unit with two free services included, and they wouldn't finish the work until I paid them $2000 more to do so, until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they were forced into completing their work without additional charge, and tried to get me to pay for one of the two free services included with the unit purchase.  I would not recommend these greedy people for anything.

Let me tell you . I have received top DIRECT customer service from ARS. With all the past issues with Call Centers (after hours) , and other related previous installs and now with my new install..... I am extremely satisfied with how I have been given the best service. Caleb who is with ARS is the main reason I've stayed with them. He is all about the customer & getting it right. We thank you for allowing us to satisfy our customer by offering an enjoyable environment. We are a small business & it's important that we offer same CS.

Had a air conditioner and furnace installed at my home less than two years ago . In the following 6 months I needed to call them 5 times in order to make the units work properly. Now am in the process of selling the house and was advised by the realtors inspector that all hvac  wiring  sheathing needed to be repaired and to secure/install junction wiring inside hvac unit in attic plus  need to install a condenser trap in attic hvac. it would seem to me that when new equipment is installed that those things would be done at installation. Was advised by Nashville and Hq  that since a year has passed and no issue that it becomes the homeowners problem and is handled as  a regular service call with charges. I trusted these people with doing the job correctly to prevent the house potentially from burning down.

Run, don't walk away from these con artists.  We got a 'new' system 2 months ago which has now had to be serviced, refilled, repaired 8 (EIGHT) times as it constantly breaks down.  Yes, they will come out with in 48 hours and fix it all over again, but we have gone through this again and again and the manager won't even call us back.  I wish we never found them.  We reported them to the better business bureau, but save your money and your sanity on this one folks!

WORST ESTABLISHMENT EVER! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!

First of all, I would give zero stars if I could. They fixed our HVAC in the summer and that went over okay so there's your 1 Star. That is not what this is about though. They sold me on a plan while they were here so that I could have priority for emergencies and also routine inspections. To this day, I have not heard from anyone at ARS about routine maintenance on my HVAC or the free water heater inspection the technician told me that happens in the fall. It is now February and I started paying for my plan in the summer of 2017.

We currently have a plumbing emergency and just called for the 24/7 emergency service that we pay extra for monthly and we were connected with Angela in a call center in Dallas, TX who said they have NO ONE in Nashville that could help me. Not a single technician on call for emergencies
or anyone in Nashville who is available. What am I even paying for? She said, I can take your information and email the Nashville branch but no one is going to answer. You will have to call back tomorrow. That is absolutely unacceptable for a company who advertises 24 hour/7 days a week emergency service and gladly took my money for it. I politely asked her for a manager and she said they don't have anyone who manages their call center. I find that hard to believe. She then tells me to show her some respect. Who speaks to customers that way? ARS apparently.

My husband called Hiller and they are going to be here within the next two hours. I'm cancelling my service with ARS first thing in the morning and will never recommend them to anyone. I will never do business with them again. Just awful. Stay away.

Probably the worst company I've dealt with. We setup a consult for a new HVAC system through Home Depot and they routed the lead to ARS. Guy shows up and starts blabbing about how bad the current HVAC is and just overall obnoxiously makes everyone uncomfortable. When his inspection is done I ask for pricing and he goes on about how the HVAC needs to be replaced as of yesterday. I politely tell him I'm exploring new HVAC (since my current HVAC is not dead yet) and taking quotes to which he got aggressive and questioned my decision to shop around. I once again told him since it's an expensive purchase, I want make sure I go with the company with good service and fair pricing. He refused to give me a quote. In the end I just asked him to leave my property. Just a slimy salesperson with a poor poor customer service. I will NEVER be doing business with ARS. Just a horrible company. I do hope they get blacklisted by Home Depot.

Tried to blackmail me!?!      I had them on a service contract.  They were supposed to maintain my older heat/ac unit and change the filter at every visit, a couple times a year.     They told me there was a gunk buildup and I could have it cleaned for $2000 or I could buy a new unit from them for $10-15,000.00.  I told them we'd think about it.
Several months after their visit I went to change the filter and there was no filter in there!    The intake area was CAKED with dust.    I complained to them and they said it was my fault that I had not maintained it.   I said 'your guy removed the old filter but never put a new one in', but my complaint fell on deaf ears.   Both the mgr and owner got on the phone.   They felt they had me over a barrel and said I would have to pay a few thousand to have them clean it or buy a new unit.   I said well Ill think about having it cleaned cause its still working fine.    THEN THEY SAID, if I think Im going to wait until it breaks and have a home warranty company replace it, theyd call and warn them saying I had not maintained it which would ensure they wouldnt cover it - Unbelievable of them, huh?!?   I could hear the smugness in his voice.
SO - I stalled them off and had Donelson air come out for a look after reading good reviews.  The guy showed me how to clean the screen myself without chemicals and said otherwise it was working just fine - I had a uv light put into it for $300 to clean the inside of any mold/bacteria that may be in there and I cleaned it myself per his instruction.  They've since come out and say it looks good.   I change the filters regularly myself without trusting anyone else to do it - and its running just fine.
I dont expect ARS Mgmt or Owner character to change.    Beware of those who would set you up to make a few thousand bucks.

Terrible experience with ARS.  They are unreliable and unresponsive.  They sent a technician out to work on our A/C who didn't know how to work on split units so we had to reschedule for another visit the next day.  They were scheduled to be there from 8am to 12pm.  No one showed so we called and they then said it would be closer to 4pm.  5pm came and still no technician.  They are the worse.

A terrible experience with this company. I had an appointment set from 8 to 12 and no one ever called or showed up. I called the local number only to be routed to a national service center that told me they could only send messages to have somebody contact me about my appointment time. Someone finally called back about a half an hour later and said I was next on the schedule. Three hours later no one had shown up or called. I called back yet again and they told me that it would be 4:30 before he could get there. I wasted a whole day waiting for these people and it's infuriating that you can't call the office and talk to somebody directly. I will never use this company again.

Ran into someone while shopping at Home Depot and was given a quote for a new HVAC system, with a 10 year parts warranty and a 1 year labor warranty. Right after the initial 1 year warranty ran out the thermostat went out and was told that it wasn't part of the warranty.
After 6 months later, found out that the initial installers didn't properly install the system. Since they didn't install it properly, the condenser pump went bad, due to the insulation getting through the water pipes on the unit. Now they are trying to state that we do not have a warranty with the unit.

I would NOT recommend this company to anyone.

The first technician didn't even show up during the timeframe that was given. He then called 30 min late stating that he would be at our residence at 8 am. He didn't show then. We had to recall the number and was told that he would be there shortly. No one showed up, had to call back at 11 am, to find out when they would be out, only to find out that the first technician was sent home sick, and that dispatch would be calling in a few min. Called back at noon only to find out that they will be sending someone to our residence at 1pm.

Problem with sewage backing up in the toilet and bath tub.  Called and they told me someone would be out the next day between 8-12 am.  No one came, so called them back at 12:30 and she said she would reach out and one of the three techs would call me with a ETA.  10:00 PM after no word at all, I went to bed.    A wasted day at home waiting for someone and no show or call whatsoever.

I am an Airbnb Owner and ARS attempted to misrepresent the nature of my required Service Request. My Air Conditioning Unit was not cooling properly and they attempted to informed me that the entire unit required replacing. They did not attempt to repair the existing unit only to state that it was old and that the unit was beyond repair although this was not the case. I call in a second opinion from Lee Company and they proceeded to repair the unit by cleaning the coils replacing the filter and adding additional coolant. This only required about an hour of onsite time from the more than capable Service Technician from the Lee Company and the unit was up and running the cooling efficiently saving both me and my guests from the oppressive heat during that time. ARS intentionally attempted to up sale my wife who was at the time working with them to resolve the cooling issue to the tune of $5000.00 for a total HVAC System replacement when the unit only required simple maintenance. These people were unprofessional and obviously thought we were unable of making a better choice for our service needs. I will never use ARS again and I advise everyone else not to use their services as well.

Could I do Zero Stars?  Home Depot Home Services was at the Williamson County Fair and My 6 year old son spun their wheel winning us $2500 off a HVAC unit.  So, we decided to have someone come out and give us a bid.  That bid consisted of John Thornton from ARS Rescue Rooter spending 30 seconds looking at the unit and taking 1 photo on his iPhone.  Then we were forced to sit and listen to his sales pitch for 90 minutes along with a very forceful so which package are you choosing today  No matter how many times we said we wanted to think it over he kept forcing us to make up our minds on the spot.  Finally when he got that No means no, he made us initial some paper stating that we were giving up our $2500 winning coupon!  Total jerk, completely unprofessional, SCAM!

One friendly advice:  Get a second opinion.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, their technician/inspector is either incompetent or they are just outright scammer.

Our A/C stopped cooling and we called ARS to get it checked.  Inspector said the replacement parts would cost us $1,800.  He recommended replacing the whole unit instead.  Salesman came and talked to us into getting a $6.5k unit for 2 hours.  We trusted this guy and signed the contract to get it done the following day.  After some research about this company here, something in me keep saying to get a second opinion.  Lo and behold, somebody came right away and got it fix for $160 in less than an hour.  I'm sad that they are the sole partner of Home Depot (that's what the salesman told us), just imagine how many homeowners they manipulate into spending unnecessary several thousands of dollars for them just to put food in their families mouth.

As the original installers of my HVAC package in 2018, I called ARS for repair as my 5-ton unit stopped cooling on August 13.  The tech arrived around 7:30 in the evening.  He quickly assessed my unit was low on R410A coolant.  He assumed a leak and said he could re-charge the unit at $171 per pound.  He couldn't tell me how much was needed.  While $171 per pound was painful, I had no choice as the downstairs of this large house was quite warm.  He added the coolant incrementally while gauging the temp from the vent inside.  Once satisfactory, he told me 5 pounds were required; he did not have time to test for a leak but would have a return visit scheduled for the test.  I paid $855 for the coolant and $99 for the service fee.  My system stopped cooling again 5 days later.  My subsequent call to ARS revealed a schedule for the test had been set but no date available to me.  I asked about the price of R410A, the rep said she couldn't quote over the phone and deferred to the tech.  I had researched the rate range and was prepared to discuss.  I got the tech from the previous week on the phone and announced the system wasn't cooling again but the rate he charged was more than twice the average.  In fact, a competitor quoted $69 per pound.  He offered his rate tables to me, I declined because they're unique to ARS and aren't meaningful.   I've made two attempts to have Customer Service call me as they have no direct contact information.  I never received the call.

I'm reasonable and understand loaded cost for labor and materials.  I understand that a large organization will have larger loaded cost and will pay happily unless gouged.  My concerns are:
1)  Heavily marked coolant---more than twice that of competitors.
2) No ability to validate the amount of coolant used----simply see the result entered by the tech on the invoice.
3)  During the repair process, the tech revealed he has the option to make commission overly hourly rates; whichever is greater----I'm concerned the rate is a floating one and is decided upon the tech's arrival.
4) No return calls by Customer Quality Assurance-----attempted twice.

I've engaged a competitor; there is an audible leak from the evaporator.  Now awaiting a part.  No new coolant in the interim as it will simply go into the atmosphere.

We had service about 3 weeks ago and the week after we get a letter from collections for the same amount after we had paid with a credit card. It was determined it was for service back in April we paid and for some reason, the credit card was denied. We got no letters and no calls and even got a service in. And the company has been extremely difficult to communicate with. Like they have no way to communicate or any number to the billing department. The phone for the company only deals with scheduling. Who sends out bills that then has nobody or no way to speak to regarding the bills? We've used them for a while, but we're done.

How can New Unit AND one that motor was replaced in both have same problem!! Pulled bill from last year. Worded same way!!  Are they trained to tell you same things when nothing is wrong!!

I had a scheduled appointment today for a heating and cooling maintenance check-up between 8am and 12pm.  The repair person contacted me at 2pm to let me know he is taking a 30 minute break and will then travel to our home.  I asked him where he is currently located and learned that he is 35 minutes away.  By the time he arrives, the technician will be 3 or more hours past the latest arrival time.  Worst of all, no one from the company contacted us to provide a status update.

Previously we have had very good luck with ARS Rescue Rooter.  Unfortunately, it appears that this once customer service oriented company is heading down the wrong path.  Now, I'll need to take time away from my business again to ensure ARS delivers on our service agreement!

This place is one of the sketchiest business experiences I've had in the entire state of tennessee, if not in my entire 46 years of life.  the sales person who arrived to give a quote for a new hvac heat pump refused to listen to anything we said, kept going on about how christian and donating to tebow's charity they are, how they refuse to hire ex cons, and a million other details. the info he REFUSED to share was what equipment they were proposing, why they felt a basic system should cost $12,000 to install, what was included in the quote, etc. He miraculously offered us around a 3k$ discount if we paid immediately. He refused to acknowledge that we were going to get at least another quote. After I politely told him I think we are going to have to pass, instead of leaving his quote with us and moving along, he took out his phone and called his manager who conveniently, at 7pm, answered the phone before the first ring completed.

The manager then proceeded with all the same scripted marketing/sales nonsense and we could not get a word in edgewise. When I finally interrupted to say--for maybe the 4th or 5th time that we have repeatedly said we have done our research and we think the services they offered are not what we want, and their refusal to listen to us was disrespectful. the sales guy abrupted got up to leave but then proceeded to take around 10-15 minutes to pack up and try to gaslight us into thinking he was only trying to be helpful and that I was somehow being rude for getting up and starting dinner. for the record, he arrived 40 minutes later than the 2-hour window we were given, then promised to be quick, but this all happened over 90 minutes after he arrived, if not more. and even then he just WOULD. NOT. LEAVE. I was about 30 seconds from telling him to get out of my house I would remove him from my house.

Normally I would do more research before even inviting someone to come and give a quote, but we had brought them in via a deal with home depot and figured at least getting a quote/info from them would be harmless. Instead it was a waste of maybe 3-4 hours of our lives and a ton of irritation.

I would strongly recommend looking into the ownership of this company and its legal issues before using them, but honestly, I would mainly say steer away from them entirely. We had a very solid experience with the Lee company, whose quote was still maybe 10-20% higher than what I was aiming for, but they were so responsive and professional I didn't really care about an extra $1k just to not have to have another headache.

They failed to show up for appointments twice in a row, calling only after the appointment windows had long past, despite assuring us both times (especially the second time) that they absolutely would get a tech to take care of it because the sale of our home was dependent on getting this work done.

They were not apologetic at all and said the earliest they could reschedule is in two weeks, which at this point is after the sale date of our home! Now we're forced to pay another company overtime rates to get the work done in time because ARS failed twice in row to show up, putting us in a bind with almost no time left!

Do NOT hire this company if you want someone who shows up.

Do NOT hire this company if you want someone who cares when they have totally messed you over.

So from my understanding, in order to do any kind of financing with ASR you have to apply for a Home Depot Credit Card... That's fine and all, but I don't like credit cards and the only one I own is from Lowes because there isn't a Home Depot within 50 miles of where I live. NOW to get to the point of my one star review.

I have a Hot water heater leak. Its gotten so bad that I know I need a brand new one (no chance of repair). So the technician that I talked to last night had his manger call me this morning, conversation started out friendly and normal but as soon as this ARS Manager noticed our conversation wasn't going his way he got short and very rude.

After talking about our options with my wife last night, I started to tell this guy that we did not want to apply for another credit card unless we absolutely had to and that there wasn't a home depot anywhere near us so we would like to seek other options before we went this route... well that sentence never made it that far. He interrupted me and spouted angrily, I don't see how that has anything to do with your hot water heater, we do work out of state all the time! My response to him was that it wasn't about them doing the work it was that we jut weren't comfortable applying for a credit card that we didn't exactly need until we explored all our options. Well, he interrupted me in the middle of that sentence, yet again, and yelled something along the lines of Thanks anyway! and hung up on me before I could tell him that we would likely call him back after we visited Lowes when I got off of work this afternoon. Sorry not Sorry man, but you will not be receiving that call from me now and I'm just going to assume that your actions reflect the way your Company does business. You will now never have me as a customer, and I will make sure that none of my friends and family will ever use you as well.

Luckily for you I have a few guidelines I have to follow for this review to be posted otherwise I would copy your name and number here so everyone would know exactly who you are.

They only had to remove some roots from the main drain. I have lived here 25 years and have to get it cleaned every 3-5 years.
They send the first guy who snaked the drain $69.00. This has always done the trick in the past.
Two days later the pipe is clogged. I called them and they come back and used another drain cleaner but they still can't fix it. Why?
Now they send a guy who gives me an high estimate for a repair that was not needed with no guarantee's it would fix it but willing to replace the whole pipe for $7000-9000. Sounds like they are selling and not repairing.
I called another company and they removed the roots with no problems with a guarantee and let me know my pipe was fine and would not need replacement. If you use this company they will try to up sale and scare you into unnecessary repairs and cost.

I have no idea if their service is any good as I was not deemed important enough for someone to even show up. Wasted 2 days dealing with them. First day tech got held upon the other job they were doing. I understood that and rescheduled for the next day between 8am-12pm. Got my first call around 8:30 saying it would be closer to noon. 12:20 got another call saying 3pm. Last call came at 3:20 saying they needed to reschedule for tomorrow.

If you have an emergency this is not the company to call. I was given a toll free number when I looked the cmpany up online. I called and was given an option of 11pm or 7:30am appointment time. I chose 7:30am. It was 8:30 and no one arrived. I called them and was told they would be out shortly and that a dispatcher would call me. I received no call back. At 11:30am I called and was told the tech was on another job, but that I was next on the list. At 2pm I called again and was told the tech was at lunch. At 3:30pm I was told the tech was not at lunch he was on another job. I gave up and called another company.

Invited ARS to my home for their offer of a $19 plumbing inspection, what I got was an OUTRAGEROUS quote to replace a Kitchen Faucet $544 and $500 Labor charge to replace a 40 gallon water heater, this company is currently on a Consumer alert with the BBB so be warned, not a company I would recommend.

Had a second tech look at it and it was only the new programmable I installed a few months back that was not compatible with our unit ...... Ok YES my own fault !!!!!! I had an emergency with water backing up from kitchen sink and flooded laundry room. I called ARS at 7:30 am. The nice lady who answered was so helpful and really pushed to get a service tech out fast. They were out within 2 hours and the service tech, Joseph H., was amazing, informative, and went beyond the call of duty to fix the problem. I will totally use them in the future!! Thank you.

This place blew up my phone for two days. Very disorganized and called to make an apt after I already scheduled one. Once scheduled I got three more calls confirming and two texts from two different numbers. Than no one showed up at all after I arranged my schedule to fit theirs. Not only did they harass me over an appointment, they didn't even show up or call! I wouldn't recommend this company at all and I am very disappointed in how they conduct themselves. Go anywhere but to them.

Be aware and Be Prepared!
We purchased a heat pump in March 2022. Over a period of several months, numerous technicians tried to repair the system.
First, there was a strange smell coming from the unit. Then, in the fall, the unit wouldn't produce heat. The technicians found a hat that was left in the unit from one of the previous technicians. The unit worked for a few days and stopped working. Repeatedly, technicians tried to repair the unit through November and December.
My family froze during the December deep-freeze after 3 technicians said they could not fix the unit. We were told to buy space heaters or get a hotel room and they would reimburse us on the next scheduled business day.
On the next business day, we were told any reimbursement would be sent out two weeks after ARS picked up the space heaters. I must note, the heater still doesn't work.
An ARS representative stated, we have an idea what part is needed. We stated, we're done!
We advised them that we want a full refund, and they can pick up the unit.
The advertised Satisfaction Guarantee is a fraud. We have been advised by ARS that their legal office is handling the matter and any returns will take at least a month, but it didn't take a month to take our money!

1/11/2023: Called for follow-up. Response: Your information is with our legal team. You will be notified when paperwork is received.

As others have already mentioned, this is a company you should NOT do business with.

I recently purchased a mid-century home with some plumbing issues. Before closing, I received a quote from ARS. Beyond what my inspector noted (which included some leaks into our crawlspace from the bathroom and a few cast iron drains in need of replacement), an ARS plumber told me the sewage line was in need of replacement (the ENTIRE sewage line to the street). The quote? $10,000. When I asked the plumber repeatedly, how serious is the problem? he said it MUST be replaced NOW, that it was falling apart and a serious hazard.

We almost didn't buy the house because of this $10,000 quote for a repair we didn't even know we needed (the inspector didn't mention it).

THANKFULLY, we got a second and third opinion from other local licensed plumbers. BOTH PLUMBERS looked at me confused when I asked about the sewer line. BOTH PLUMBERS said, your sewer line looks relatively new! Huh. Is there any reason to be concerned about the sewer line? Definitely not. Again, both plumbers said it looked like the line had been recently replaced!

The cost to repair the actual stuff that needed repairing? Less than $1,000.

I can't believe this company can get away with ripping customers off like this... If we hadn't gotten a second and third opinion, we would have either not bought the house, or paid $10,000 for a brand new, UNNECESSARY install of a sewer line.

The only word I can use to describe ARS plumbers: CRIMINALS.

STAY AWAY.

I do not know where to begin...we purchased 2 new units from ARS in 2019 and have had numerous service calls each year mainly for the same issue every time.  This time we had an appointment scheduled for Monday between 4-8 and we received a call just before 8 telling us they were going to have to reschedule due to not having a qualified tech to handle our case available.  We rescheduled for Tuesday between 4-8 and the tech finally called at 8:30 saying he was 45 minutes away and would be at our house around 9:30 but he had no parts to fix it with him.  This is too late for a repairman to come and work on something at this point.  He was going to let ARS know to call us the next day to reschedule and they never did.  Thursday morning I call and they reschedule us between 12-5 and no call no show.  I call once again to reschedule for Friday morning between 8-12 and at 11:30 I call to see if they are on their way and was told it would be another 2 hours or so.  I would not recommend their products or services to anyone.  People have to work just like they do and I have missed a lot of work time this week because of ARS Rescue Rooter.

Ditto to the many one stars on this site.  I would not do business with these people again.  They charged us $1375 for a $556 water heater.  Even claimed they buy them at retail price from Home Depot!  Really??  The installer was here for under 3 hours.  Tried to tell us they have to cover all their costs - travel from one job to the next, going to buy parts, picking up the water heater, billing, filling out service work orders, etc., etc..  Geez!  That's the cost of doing business.  They try to hoodwink their customers because they know they have you over a barrel with no hot water.  Wish we had opted for a few days of cold showers over the shellacking we got from these people.  Go to Lee, Lowe's, or Home Depot, but skip ARS.

Awesome service the entire way through! John came out and met with me and was my second quote. I immediately like him, felt comfortable and he reviewed way more in detail then the firs company. Justin and Josh installed and they were fantastic! Friendly and really walked me through everything. You would never know anyone was here, my house was left cleaner than before. Most importantly I had to leave for a meeting and they finished about 15 minutes before I got back but they waited to ensure they could review everything with me. Wonderful service! Thank you!!!

I had to have mainline sewer replaced.  For each of the three appointments, the plumbers were 30+ minutes late (once it was 5 hours).  It took 4 tries to get the work to pass code (meaning my yard was in shambles for a month) and they then left a hole that is over two foot deep because they did not fill it back in correctly.  I received no response when I sent the plumber manager pictures of the yard and when I called I was told we do not do landscaping.  Though I qualified for their financing option, they have still (over 3 months later) not turned my bill over but instead are sending me past due notices.  Under no circumstances would I ever use this company or recommend this company ever again.  HORRIBLE service.

My toilet was loose on the floor so I removed the toilet to see if I could find what was wrong!!! I found where one of the bolts was, the flange was broken!!! My wife was afraid I would hurt myself if I continued, because I have rods in my back!!! I saw ARS' commercial, on one of the local TV stations weather reports, so I called them!!! They came out the next morning and said it was the flange!!! REMEMBER: I had already removed the toilet so all he had to do was replace the flange, put the gasket in(WHICH WAS MINE),AND INSTALL THE TOILET!!!
IT MIGHT HAVE TAKEN HIM 20 MINUTES TO DO THE JOB!!! THEY CHARGED $600.00 - $50.00 BECAUSE I WAS A VETERAN!!!
NOW YOU BE THE JUDGE AND TELL ME IF THEY JUST ROBBED ME??? contact me at cvhelton73144@bellsouth.… if want to discuss your headaches to, and the terrible overcharging that ARS does!!!

I would NEVER recommend ARS in Nashville.  They were the contractor that Home Depot chose to install our new heating and A/C system.  We called ARS around noon on Wednesday to ask for service on our new A/C that was not working properly. We explained that we were leaving town on Saturday morning and since this was a new unit we expected someone would come prior to that time to check the unit. They said they would send someone on Thursday morning. The office finally called at approximately 5pm on Thursday to report the tech was available to leave to come to our house. It is over an hours drive from Nashville to our house, so we agreed that they would come first thing on Friday.  By Friday afternoon at 4pm no one had come OR called so I called Home Depot.  They 3 way called me with ARS and the man there said that the tech was on his way.  Again, no call, no service.  They had outright told a lie to pacify me. Bottom line, the tech finally called on Saturday afternoon at 5:30 to report he was ready to come.  We were on our way out of town by then, so bottom line we still have a new unit that is not working properly.  My experience with this company is horrible and if we had been more familiar with their service we never would have gone through Home Depot because we assumed they only used reputable contractors. Our experience with both Home Depot and ARS has not been one that I would want to repeat. From my viewpoint, ARS is one company that is definitely not courteous or honest and they do not provide the service promised prior to the sale.

If I could give zero stars I would!!! We had a leak in our dishwasher and it had leaked into our subfloors and into our crawl space. I called multiple people and was told earliest they could do was Monday. I was so happy that rescue rooters could come out today! I called around 2PM and was told we'd be called by a technician when they are on the way. 7 PM rolls around and my husband calls to see when they would come. Whoever I spoke with DIDNT PUT OUR NAME IN THE SYSTEM! We waited 6 hours for no one to show up and by that time we were told it was too late to have someone come out. Unbelievable. We won't be using them again. Thanks rescue rooters for no rescue on your behalf!

Worst possible experience with a terrible company. 2 No call No shows, 2 promises for supervisor call, 0 follow thru or delivery of services. And no recourse to make things right with the customer.

Scheduled an appointment for Friday between 8am-12pm. Dispatch (Michael) called me at 11:30am saying that they received more important and vital calls for service that morning and asked if I could re-schedule. I told them that my kitchen sink overflowing was an emergency and that I needed to keep the appointment. He told me they couldn't honor their commitment. They re-scheduled me for Sunday between 10am-12pm and said someone would reach out if something came available on Saturday. I called their office Friday night and they said dispatch would call me shortly to push my scheduling up for Saturday. They never did.

Sunday rolls around and by 12:30pm no one had called or showed up. I called back to the office and they said dispatch would call me shortly. At 2pm I receive a call saying that they had a technician call out sick and I would need to re-schedule. Reschedule? Reschedule to a time when no one would show up again? Yeah right. They couldn't have called me that morning to let me know so that I didn't waste more time waiting for them? He said he was sorry and that a supervisor would reach out to me the next day (Monday). It's Tuesday, and no one has reached out

I called their office again to try and escalate the situation to yet again another supervisor and/or office of finance. Britney said they would reach out to me first thing Monday morning. It's Tuesday, and no one has reached out.

I took off hours from worked and moved around family time over the weekend to be available for them to fix the issues they promised to fix. Obviously, more important and vital calls means more $$$ and priority customers. Their excuse was that the recent winter storms (which were 2 weeks ago now) caused them backups in scheduling. Why would you schedule me in the first place if you're backed up? And moreso, why would you accept new calls for service when you already scheduled me?

I'm lost time, money, and patience. Never EVER use this horrible company. I hope no one has the same worst-case experience with them and that as many people as possible are drawn away from doing business with Rescue Rooter by reading this review. Wish I could give negative stars.

They will not return calls when promised. I was promised a call back by end of day by 2 managers, the scheduling department and the parts department, all on seperate occasions during the same service. None of them called me back. After my AC was out for 16 days I called.and asked about the parts.and scheduling the repair. They had not ordered the part, but did so while I was on hold, claiming that Carrier had a backlog. I was told it would be in on Monday and I would get a call to schedule the repair. Never got a call.

Run don't walk away from this company. If you too have been scammed by ARS send me a message I would like to know how many others they have harmed.

A couple of years ago I was in Home Depot and was offered an HVAC quote. I accepted and began my journey into the seventh circle of being scammed. The nice sales guy came over and warned me about the dangers of my old system. An hour later we were running my credit and I overpaid for a whole new combo HVAC and furnace. I told myself this was a good investment because a new system would run more efficiently and be more reliable. I even paid for an ionic air cleaner , a humidifier, and a digital thermostat that ran it all. None of these things work properly.

I was told install would be three days.

In my opinion ARS has the laziest bunch of employees I have ever encountered. A different tech showed up to install each little thing. One guy would leave an exposed wire and ARS would send someone else out the next day. Each tech checked off something they did then passed the rest of the list to the next guy. We did this for about 2 months. I cannot even begin to explain how much work I lost taking off to meet ARS at my home. Finally my system was installed I was left with exposed wires and a cover that is taped on because a tech broke the clips, and holes in my furnace closet that allowed snakes to get in my home, I also later discovered that the surge protectors I paid for were never installed. The sales guy who sold the system came back and fixed the wires, the surge protectors, and the holes in the closet. A few weeks later I was able to get new clips but that also took 5 tech visits. At this point it's winter and I settle into using my new gas furnace and humidifier.

So I tell myself that was a god awful experience but hey I've got a fancy new HVAC in my condo.... Right? Yep.... No.

My utilities jump up, and my humidifier stops working. I cannot tell you how many calls I made
To get the humidifier fixed. Finally after I threatened legal action they replaced the humidifier. Currently I barely use it because it doesn't work consistently.

Fast forward to now my system is not yet three years old. When the air cleaner runs, the ac won't blow cold air. I had a tech out and she couldn't figure out what was wrong. I call ARS and they want $100 to diagnose what's wrong with the system they installed and supposedly warrantied.

Anybody else on here with a similar experience please feel free to contact me. Those of you considering hiring them..... you're smarter than me because you're researching this company..... but trust me you don't want to hire them.

Our 2yr old HVAC unit went out on July 27th. ARS came out promptly, but that is all that went right. First they said my compressor was shot, then they said maybe not, it just needs charging. They put 5 lbs of refrigerant in and charged be $171/lb. they said warranty didn't cover it. So I paid. My mistake. It all leaked out by next day. I went and dug up my contract which was 10 year parts AND labor. no, I don't get my money back. They said I needed some part, but it could take a bit to come in due to parts shortage. August 28th still no AC. Is the parts shortage just for folks with warranties? Just wondering. I've contacted several times, they say still waiting on parts. They say that would check and call me back. I don't get callbacks.

The technician that originally come out did arrange a couple of portable units that have been running non-stop. grateful for at least some relief. Bets on size of electric bill? I still had to go buy a window unit for my office as it would get 90 in there.

Not knowing we'd be without air for over a month I also bought a scrubber for them to install when they made the repair. They were quick to cash that check even though it's a mystery as to when any of this work will get done.

I'm out over $3000 now on a non functional AC, not knowing when it will get fixed. A possibly interesting electric bill coming soon. All with a 10 year parts and labor warranty.

Home Depot is going to hear from me too because I bought this top of the line Carrier unit from them who contracted to ARS.

If I'd only looked here first...

We called them to find and fix a leak in the water main line. They had to refer us to another company to find the leak. The other company found the leak and dug the hole. ARS was notified that the leak had been found. We heard nothing for several days. They finally scheduled something for 8am-they were specific about that time and THEY set that time. My wife waited until 930-no one contacted her until I reached out to ARS. They apologized and gave us a 15% discount and said they would be out to finish the work later the same day. Nope, nothing. They finally came out the next day and charged a ridiculous amount for the work they did-basically cutting PVC pipe, replacing a length, and filling in the hole. We got no up front quote and the price they charged was expensive. We will never use this company again and I will tell anyone who will listen how unhappy we are with this company.
I would give them no stars if I could.

This past weekend I was experiencing two out of three clogged toilets in my house.  I have a home warranty, but when I called ARS they said it would only be $69.99 to unclog the toilets, so I didn't go through my warranty.  When the technician showed up, he was wearing a Mossy Oak t-shirt with no identification in the form of a hat, a name tag, or an ARS logo anywhere, except the truck.  I had to ask if he was the plumber.  As soon as he walked in the door I could smell an overpowering odor of alcohol.  Because of the sketchiness of the situation I followed him around and watched him work.  He seemed to be doing everything to try to get the toilets unclogged, with no luck. But as his work progressed, I knew the bill was growing.  I tried several times to get an estimate as he was going along, but he couldn't/wouldn't give me one.  At one point he called in a second plumber because he couldn't figure out the problem.

After about three hours and with the assistance of a second plumber he got my toilets unclogged, but then the bathtub wouldn't drain.  He had to come back the next day.  Before he left, all he could tell me after I asked several times, was that my bill was going to be somewhere between $500 - $800.

When he returned to my house the next day, he was wearing the same clothes and had not showered and still reeked of alcohol.  He told me he had slept at a buddy's house and had not gone home.  I was finally able to get him to tell me that my bill, so far, was $675.  Needless to say, I was not happy.

After reinstalling the toilet he had removed the night before, he turned his attention to the clogged bathtub.  At that point I told him if it was going to cost me any more money, to please just stop because I would go through my home warranty, which I should have and would have done much sooner had I realize how exorbitant the bill was going to get.

While I do believe the technician made a concerted effort to fix my toilets (which is why I give this experience two stars and not one), the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth.  I had not used ARS before and I will never use them again.

Home Depot uses these guys to install water heaters.  I needed some help running a gas line to add a gas cooktop.  HD told them I needed a bid, so they called me.  Started out nice and sounds simple I know, but my builder used a new fangled fitting and method that did not catch on, I even had 2 bidders run away.  These guys were prompt and curtious and wanted to help.  But they bid $7,000 to run a 60 foot gas line.  1st thing I said was, is there supposed to be a comma...?  Even Nashville Gas and Lee Co. were less than $900.  He really could not tell me why he was almost 10 times more expensive.  We parted friends.  Caveat Emptor won the day!

I'm really shocked on some of the bad reviews on here. Maybe we've just been lucky, or people only like to post reviews when they're complaining.

Anyways, a couple months into buying our house, our air unit went out so we purchased another one from Home Depot. Home Depot uses ARS for their installs and maintenance, so by association, we used them.

The install went great. The technicians were super professional and friendly, and had us up and running in no time. They even came back a couple days later to check up on it and make sure it was working.

Last night (about a year and a half since the install), our air went out. I called ARS first thing this morning, and they sent out a technician about 4 hours later. Our tech pinpointed the problem about 5 minutes into inspecting it, and even though he didn't have the part to replace it until tomorrow, he someone got the air working in the meantime and just advised us not to turn it off or it wouldn't come back on. I think running the AC for 24 hours seems a lot better than not having it for another day.

These guys have always seemed highly professional, friendly, and have made us comfortable any time they've come out for a job. Until I see something negative myself, these guys will always be my first call for HVAC needs.

This involves a series of mistakes and a bad phone connection, so make of it as you will. Several years ago I used ARS Rescue Rooter for a property I own. I'm not putting their work down as I don't remember the entirety of the thing, but I never used them again.

Cut to 2020 - I've been dealing with a different company with rooter in its name, they'd been out two days before and at this point I've got a tenant calling that they heard a pipe fall and there's the smell of crap everywhere. I'm in a car with kids and ask my phone to call the other rooter company. Guess who it calls and I didn't know it'd misdialed.

I tell the dispatcher they were out two days ago, there's been an issue, and they were also supposed to get me a quote that hadn't shown up. The person pulls me up (from a record from years ago,) doesn't dispute or question any part of my story about them being out two days ago, and dispatches a tech to investigate.

They tell me they're dispatching a tech that night, they don't, person calls me from ARS the next day and tells me that the problem is I've got a pipe down and a clog and they haven't had anyone out there and I tell him that I'd tried calling the other rooter place and explained in detail to the dispatch person what was going on and you would think from me saying they had been out two days prior someone would have caught it. Nope.

They of course charged me. They did get me a quote for about $16,000 on a main line replacement that would take them 3 days or so - that was done by the other rooter company for about $5600 in one, so there's also that.

First of all they said a plumber will be at the house between 3pm -5pm. Plumber did not arrive till 7pm. Garbage disposal was jammed. Instead of even looking at it, the guy said I need a new garbage disposal. He said he has to go to Home Depot To get a new one bragging the company pays good overtime and he was not in a hurry. Then charged me $533. Paid with my debit card and he entered it as a recurring payment to be paid $533 once a month! DO NOT USE THIS COMPNY. They are crooks!!

Heat went out on New Year's Eve with temperature in single digits.  This company advertises 24/7 service, don't believe it.  Whoever answered the phone claimed all technicians were booked for the night.  It was an obvious lie.  Did not want to respond, made no effort to help.  Don't waste your time.

If I could put no stars I would. These guys are the biggest ripoff going. I've had several bad experiences with them before, you'd think I'd learn. But since I bought my HVAC system from them I thought just maybe I'd get some sort of service. We waited for a 10 days during the hottest part of the 2021 summer in 90 degrees plus, for a part. Now in 28 degree weather my furnace stopped working. The service man said it was a blower motor. They charged me $1300! After I agreed I looked up the part on-line. You can get the exact same motor for $400 so I figured the installation must be very complicated. Nope. Watched a you tube video and the guy replaced it in about 10 minutes. 3 screws, 2 clamps and a molex connection. After replacing the blower motor the furnace still doesn't work. The technician can't can't figure out what is wrong. Maybe it wasn't even the motor. It's Friday and they said the soonest they can get back to me will be on Monday mid-day. Get this, the reason it has to be mid-day instead of first thing in the morning is that Monday morning they have a sales meeting with all the techs. I guess irony is truly dead. Never again. And now after reading all these other awful reviews I can't even believe this company is still in business.

It's never a good thing to have a clogged system on a holiday weekend.  A plumber who could not help us over the weekend recommended we call ARS.  An appointment was made for Saturday between noon and 5 pm.  The plumber called a little after 5 and said he was unable to make it, but he would be here around 8 am on Monday.  Nope.  Numerous calls to ARS, all morning, no one returned the call with an appointment time. It was midafternoon and still no one on the way.  SO frustrating.  The office manager, or whoever, offered fee waivers and discounts; he called me back shortly after that to be sure someone had contacted me.  Nope.  Not a peep.
I told him that every employee needs to know that this is the worst service ever.  We called Mr. Rooter and they were here in 15 minutes!  DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH ARS!

Bought 2 units on this company 7 years ago and it's the worst experience we ever had. We spent more than $4k of repairs and labors under their maintenance watch.. also had the worst soldering tech.

This company has been a Godsend for all of our plumbing and HVAC needs. I'm renovating at over 40 year old home. Had to replace the heating unit, duct work and plumbing. They are fast, professional and solve problems. Thank you Garret , Fritz and to all involved from the McAdoo family

SCAM ALERT!!! While shopping at Home Depot I was approached about a $9.00 HVAC Spring Tune-up. I made the mistake of taking them up on the offer.
Upon completion of the service, the technician proceeded to tell me that my HVAC unit was in need of a major ($1,000-$3,500) repair or replacement. He told me that the unit was only able to achieve a 10º temperature difference between supply and return air and that it should be between 16º - 20º. He also said that the unit had a major refrigerant leak and was probably 3 lbs. low on refrigerant. Told me that the unit would not be able to cool the house once summertime temperatures arrive. His recommendation was that, rather than spend that much money on repairing an older unit, I should go ahead and hire ARS to replace the unit due to the unit's advanced age and poor condition. He proceeded to set me up with a follow-up appointment with a salesperson to discuss the purchase of a new unit.
The entire thing seemed very fishy to me so I decided to hold off on the sales pitch and get a second opinion. Thank goodness that I did. I had a licensed and reputable HVAC company come out to check the unit. They measured a 20º temperature difference between supply and return air (which is ideal) and found no issues with the refrigerant levels. He went on to say that the unit is in very good condition and with proper maintenance, I should expect to get several more years of reliable service out of it.
I ended up paying $59.00 for that $9.00 Spring Tune-up, but that is much better than spending thousands of $$$ on an HVAC unit that I do not need.
There is no telling how many folks they have conned into replacing a perfectly good HVAC unit. I am sure I am not the first one they have tried this scam on.
Shame on you ARS/Rescue Rooter for being dishonest and shame on you Home Depot for being in bed with such an unscrupulous contractor.

The service girl who answered the phone sounded like she was 18 and told me to reach into the (now electrified) water of my unit and start fixing it myself.

Really not a good experience. Happened after the Great Floodin' Time, bless our hearts. Freaked out the cats.

These are the corporate snobs I had to deal with for awhile under my condo contract until it ran out, thank GOD.

Would never recommend it. Thankfully, I am alive to tell you all that, as well. Very stressful time. Charged me the usual mint.

After extreme difficulty in contacting the branch (in which I had to point out their email system directed contact back to a former employee), ultimately an appointment was made but the time could not be confirmed by the phone agent. However, I was never contacted about it until late Wednesday when three agent called to confirm the appointment the next day (when I had never been told the time to begin with). Although that was resolved, the situation with the agent was beyond the pale.

At the end of the service call, the agent asked me to come to look at the unit to discuss its condition and mentioned that the system would likely need to be replaced in a few years. He offered to put together a quote, but said that he needed my husband to be present.

While I certainly understand that all decision makers would need to be present, this heteronormative assumption is offensive and antiquated. Aside from the fact that I am the sole homeowner (and decision maker), I could have just as easily had a roommate, live-in relative or non-spouse romantic partner of any gender. His sexist, misogynistic attitude is entirely unacceptable and unprofessional.

Moreover, when I called the branch to report this, the manager, Liz, clearly thought the situation was overblown, and tried to say that a man would have been asked about his wife. I understand the purpose in confirming decision makers, but it again it assumes that someone has to be married and heterosexual to be a homeowner (and to make decisions). A simple is there anyone else that needs to be present when this decision is made? or do we need to accommodate the schedule of anyone else to decide this? would have been innocuous and equally effective.

An email to the branch manager resulted in an equally tepid response, as did my Facebook review discussing the concern.

NEVER EVER again will I use these ppl .... stay away I learned my lesson .. always  get a second opinion .... don't use these ppl ...

ARS reached out to me after my experience and mailed me a $25 gift card to reimburse me for my time and gas. It shows to me that they are trying to make things right with their customers. If I have a need in the future for their services I'll probably give them one more chance.

Very happy with the service with ARS!  Ritchie and Casey both did a great job on our different plumbing needs!  Felt good to have people that actually know what they're doing and customer service was fantastic!  Also happy with calling to get an appointment and the friendliness of customer service there also and a quick appointment too!

Let me start by saying our brand new (very expensive) AC unit got put in on June 1st 2021. Less than a month later our unit wasn't working. It wouldn't drop below 77 for a week and we couldn't figure out what was going on so we requested a technician come out to look at it. We were scheduled to have someone come out the next day, July 1st, between 12-5. We were contacted at 3:15 letting us know the tech would be here in the next hour, possibly hour and half. Okay, no problem until they didn't show up. We call at 5:30 and the dispatch can't get ahold of the tech. We had plans so we left and we get a call saying the tech is at our house at 6:30. Like what? We couldn't get back so my husband rescheduled to 8-12 the next morning. Again, same hour heads up at 11 am and they didn't show up until 1:30 pm. Not the techs fault when they made him drive 244 miles one way to our house because as he claimed no one else knew what they were doing. The unit was frozen because of whatever manufacturing issue so it had to be turned off and thawed out. It couldn't be fixed that day. We have a 2 year old in the heat and the best they could offer was for us to open the windows over night. I felt incredibly unsafe having the windows open as we slept. Let's not even begin with how many dispatchers that continually lied as my husband had to keep calling. He spoke to a manger who listened back on the recorded calls saying when the techs were promised to be here each day and she had no explanation and just apologized. This is our holiday weekend and so far we've spent a majority of it waiting for this horrible company to send a tech. On Saturday when we finally got a tech here at 6:30 we had to cancel our holiday plans we had to be here after the dispatcher promised they'd be here between 8-12 am. I'm so over it and quite frankly I'm livid. The poor customer service is unreal. When we called to speak with the manager on Saturday guess what? They weren't there. They got to have their weekend but we had to sit home waiting for a tech to come out. I blame the dispatchers 100%. If after the current visit the ac isn't working I will be requesting my money back and having them come and get this. I refuse to deal with a company who I'm sure has had plenty of time to figure out how to adequately time when someone will be able to arrive at the customers home. Had they been honest about the time I wouldn't care as much as we could have worked out plans around that but we couldn't enjoy our 4th of July plans because of this.

Well here's a 5 minute later update: Our unit is broken, probably has been since we got. Due to the holiday weekend they can't order the part until Tuesday so we have no ac when it's going to be in the 90s over the next few days. I'll be posting this everywhere to want people. To say I'm livid is now an understatement.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY.

ARS came to clean clogged drain 3/11/19, I paid them $299.00.  Ran snake from septic tank into house. Worked for three days and clog returned.  I called for a return on 3/18/19 and they said that they would come on emergency basis.  Called back 2 hours later and said that there would no charge to but the video camera work would cost an additional $240.00.   I informed them that I am living on social security and don't have another $240.00 for a video inspection.  They then said that they would come and run snake again for $100.00 but with no guarantee. I told them TGFY and that I would call a real plumber.  Houston, TX based company could care less about Nashville. PS- Plumber that they sent was nice guy. Customer service stinks.
NO THANKS ARS, YOU ONLY GET ONE SHOT AT ME.  Thanks for the form letter that you send to all with bad reviews.  I would like my money back for work NOT done.

I called ARS Rescue Rooter at 10 AM when my HVAC unit failed to fire up and heat. The lady on the phone checked with the crew and said they would be there no later than 1:30 PM and if they were going to be any later they would call me and give me an updated time. And if they finish their job sooner they would call when they were on the way. I called the corporate phone number around 3 PM and a guy took my information and said he would have somebody call me back shorty (no one ever called back).  I received a call after 5 PM from the technician saying he was at my gate to do the repair call. I told him that I had left to go to the hockey game that I had tickets for and I would not be home. Apparently they expected me to sit there for seven hours waiting for them and still not show. They left me on a Saturday night with no heat and temperatures falling below freezing. I could've called other companies but they assured me that this would be taken care of around 1:30 PM. Very unprofessional business practices.

At first I had a good experience with the air unit service and got the plan for home service warranty.  I called and made arrangements to be off from work today for a plumbing issue.  They were scheduled to be here between 8 and 10.  No one showed.  I called and they said since I didn't confirm my appointment, they canceled my appointment.   I was furious.  They offered to reschedule but I couldn't because I couldn't take another day off from work.  I promptly canceled my warranty plan and will not do business with your company ever again.  I was offered a manager but they were in a meeting.  I went with Holt Plumbing who saved my day and offered excellence service.  I WILL NOT USE NOR RECOMMEND ARS ever.

$1735.00 to install a water heater (includes the cost of the water heater $813.00).  The unit came with a 12 year parts and 3 year labor INCLUDED with the purchase price from Home Depot. It appears ARS also charged me for a 12/3 warranty on top of the unit warranty which I did not ask for. When I ask for a detailed invoice of the services performed, they (ARS) refused to provide one. A representative of Home Depot requested a detailed explanation of the charges and was also denied.  I was contacted by someone from ARS about my requests and was told there would be no detailed explanation of the charges.
I asked if they were afraid to provide that information because it would reveal their outrageous labor charges. To make a long story shorter, they asked how much of a refund I wanted. I responded with that I didn't want a refund, I wanted a detailed description of the charges. They persisted with how much of a refund did I think was fair. I finally gave them a dollar amount of $300.00. They subsequently offered $150.00 which I refused. I felt their offer was an  insult. I still haven't received a detailed invoice.
I have no issue with the actual work performed by the technician. My issue is with the company refusing to answer my request and the total cost of the service.

After posting this review and submitting a review on the ARS web-site I was contacted by an ARS customer service representative about 3-4 days later. We had two conversations within a week concerning my unpleasant experience with the water heater installation. ARS still refuses to provide a detailed invoice, however, they did send me a refund check in the amount of $300.00 which I accepted. Thank you ARS for the refund.
I want to reiterate that the work performed by the technician was excellent. I am still puzzled by the refusal to provide a detailed invoice for the services performed.

So I bought a new unit from ARS approximately 2 1/2 years ago. It has gone out twice. Today when it went out again, I called to get a service technician out. They first told me they could have one out on Saturday. I booked appointment and they called me back later and said they would need to reschedule to Monday. I again booked appointment only to get a call back telling me they couldn't come out until  Tuesday. So now I am without air conditioning for 5 days with a unit that is only 2.5 years old. Do not buy from this company.

I have tried to be patient and I really did not want to write a negative review, but I just don't want anyone else to have to deal with the same frustration I have. I paid cash for a HVAC unit in 2013 and it has not run a full season without issues yet. The unit is a Rheem and some of the issues are likely due to manufacture issues, but ARS is responsible for fixing it. The unit is now leaking at just over two years old. I no longer believe that ARS is going to honor their 100% money back guarantee, because they have strung me along past the 2 year point.  I recommend making a different choice in installation companies and manufacturers.

2.6 years into owning my new HVAC unit and I've had to pay for multiple service calls and pay $1200 for rat extermination in my house because the unit was not installed properly and rats were entering through the unit hood that attaches to the house.  I contacted them about the problem and they took no ownership, saying I should have called them before calling an exterminator.  A crawlspace full of rat crap being circulated into my home is a serious health problem.  They refused to take ownership and I was stuck with the bill.  Most recently they called to ask if I wanted to pay for a service check up to which I agreed.  Big surprise, the less than 3 year old unit was leaking freon and the motor was going to freeze if I didn't do something about it.

I called other local HVAC repair companies that confirmed there were an excessive amount of problems for a unit so young.  I'll only hire a local company that can be held accountable for the quality of their work.  ARS = Absolutely Ridiculous Scammers.

ARS came to install new duct work in November. It has fallen down twice since then requiring technicians to reconnect.  Two weeks ago, a technicians came and told us the reason that it keeps falling down is that they installer put in the wrong size duct work.
I have been calling and either never getting a phone call back, or a date of appointment that they did not come. wasting my time.
I have called corporate three times with no response.
I have had no communication from local Nashville office managers.
Unsatisfactory management.
Reported again to local call center management today.

Our water heater developed a leak, and I phoned the first company Home Advisor recommended, which was ARS/Rescue Rooter. They said that we were the first on the list the next morning, in the 8am-12pm time slot.
They said be prepared for a call 30 minutes out, which would be 730am. No call came then, or the next two hours. Called them around 10am. Yes, you're on the list, it'll be before12 pm for sure.
No call from them, and called several times and got the same reassurance. Waited for four and a half hours, and they never bothered to call, and never showed up. DO NOT USE THIS company!!!!!!
Unbelievably unprofessional..
