I am surprised by all the good rating. I hired them to check an led under cabinet and led ceiling bedroom light. They were very professional, made an appointment, they confirmed, they called ahead of time and showed up on time. The electrician was super nice and checked everything but then told me that the entire system needed to be replaced (new driver, new lights, new wiring) at a cost of $3,500. I was appalled. I called another electrician, actually the one who originally installed the lights and he did the repair for $500???? Just the driver needed to be changed and it was done in less than an hour. So yes they are very professional but I am not sure they are qualified and definitely will try to up sell to people who do not know electric work.

Greg is very responsive, courteous and helpful. I had some issues with electrical work done by someone else and Greg came  first thing in the morning the day after I called him. He was able to quickly find the problem and fix it. I would recommend calling him.

I highly recommend Lauterborn Electric.  I recently had Larry and Ryan at my house to work on a long list of electric projects and they did an amazing job.  I bought a chandelier to be installed and it came with over 100 pieces.  I was so impressed at how easily they were able to install and put together the chandelier.  They did a great job and they are reasonably priced and very professional.

My Wife has been on my back for 2 years about this chest freezer we purchased but needed a dedicated electrical outlet line for before hooking it up. The freezer had been sitting due to the fact I was dreading looking for an Electrician to do the wiring. So many contractors waste your time by not responding, not showing up, inaccurate pricing, incomplete work, and of course shoddy workmanship. The research process in finding a contractor is very tedious because you want to avoid any of the above from becoming your reality. I am ecstatic, thankful, and joyous that my vetting process matched me with FMJ Electrical. Here's why:

Easy & Thorough Communication - I was able to submit my inquiry via yelp. We then spoke by phone to make sure all details and information was clear.

Fast Scheduling - Was able to fit me in the schedule upon talking to him.

Prompt - Contacted me the night before to remind me of the appointment. That showed me they valued not only my time, but also their time as well. Arrived on time the day of appointment and was ready to work.

Excellent Work - Flawlessly performed my new outlet installation. Ran it directly to the box inside the wall. Another quote I received from another provider would run it through tubing outside the wall and have the outlet external on top of the wall. FMJ did everything behind the wall and recessed the actual outlet. Also, the placement of the outlet was better than what I had imagined. I thought it would be higher up the wall for him to save time. He actually lowered more towards the ground which made less stress on the plug. Beautiful!

Price - I was quoted an excellent price for the work I needed done. Work was completed, I paid the bill, FMJ gets paid, my Wife stops nagging me, everyone wins!!!!

Bottom line......give FMJ Electrical a call or drop a line to them on Yelp if you want your electrical needs done right, at a great price, and on time!

Edmond was very responsive and easy to work with. He was able to fit us in without much notice and was reasonably priced. We will definitely use him again for any future electrical issues.

I had an issue with one of my properties in port Richmond losing power in the kitchen and bathroom. We tried flipping the breakers off and on and that didn't work so needed a solution quick. I sent out a request on Yelp for electricians and Charles replied promptly. He offered emergency services to come out and troubleshoot at a reasonable rate (this was Friday night at 9pm) and mentioned if it could wait, it would be a lesser rate the next day. I decided on the next day and he offered me a generous time window. The next day he arrives half and hour early and texts me to give me a heads up and then he proceeds to work. In the end the voltage loss was due to wiring and he redid some of the wiring for a reasonable price. I was not at the property at the time but Charles gave me an option to view the invoice over email and make payment securely online. Overall I was thoroughly impressed with his response time and his ability to help me out when I was in a pickle without overcharging. Definitely will contact Charles again for future electric projects.

PG came out to restore power to our doorbell. They replaced the transformer quickly and without issue. They were right on time, professional, and did good work at a good price. Also good communication

Rodney and Ramon did an EXCELLENT job! Had them instal 4 recessed lights, dimmer switch, regular switch, and wires ran for a ceiling fan, switch, and instal a box.
I don't know how he did it without treating out drywall to run the wires, but he did.
Him and Ramon were very thorough, and clean.
I'm a very very picky person, and they exceeded my expectations!

I called this company on a hot summer day when my tenant called me and told me her power went off.  I was running around town with my two kids, so in a hurry I decided to call the first company I saw on yelp. I really wish I had taken more time to look for a more reputable company.

First, be aware that this company has multiple listings for different locations all over the city. If you look at their other listings, you will see the many poor reviews that they have received.

I received multiple phone calls from different people after my initial service request. They repeatedly told me that there is a $165 charge for emergency dispatch, and that once they do an inspection, they will let me know what the cost of the actual work will be. When the technician got to the house, a guy named Steven Miller called me and said he wanted me to pay the dispatch fee upfront before anything is done.  He then sent me an email to get my written authorization to charge the credit card. All of this seemed a bit odd to me... the multiple phone calls, the written authorization, the fee up front... but I didn't think too much of it and just proceeded.

About 10 minutes after I paid for the dispatch fee, Steve calls me back with his technician on the phone to tell me that they have to charge me another fee for the diagnostic. I told them that my understanding was after spending $165 they would be able to tell me what's wrong and give me an estimate on the cost of the work. He then proceeded to repeat everything that he and another one of his employees had already told me over the phone multiple times. I told him that I did not feel comfortable proceeding forward and that I was going to call around to see if other companies have similar practices. He then had his other employee (a woman with a courteous voice) call me to try to reason with me. I told her again that I was going to call around and if this is common practice, then that's fine, but if not then I will be leaving a long review for them.

I got off the phone with the woman and called another local electrician. This man was honest, prompt and straightforward. He came out within half hour and fixed the problem for me under 10 minutes and charged me a third of what Thomas Edison had quoted me for simply coming out and finding out what the problem is (not including any work done).

Needless to say, I will be sticking with my honest electrician from now on. Steve did call me again to tell me that he would not charge me the $165 as a courtesy to make me happy. I thought for a second about not leaving a bad review, but I decided that I cannot let this company get away with unethical practice. This company needs to know that people are not stupid and this kind of bait and switch business practice will only backfire. Simple honesty, trustworthiness and respect for people is the way to go.
