They were able to come out with a few days notice which I really appreciated (and needed). Christian was awesome. Arrived on time and worked efficiently to replace a closet ceiling light bulb with a 3-prong outlet so I can install and plug in a stackable W/D in the closet. Would definitely use Sims & Sons again and would ask for Christian!

Joe is the best. Thoughtful. Detail oriented. Fair pricing. He came to our home (built in 1969) and added 38 recessed / can lights all over the house. I almost don't want to review him so he doesn't get booked up, but he deserves all the work that comes his way!

I had a great experience working with Greenline. Edward was very responsive, helpful, honest, and reasonably priced. They upgraded the electrical in my house and did a fantastic job. I would recommend Greenline for any electrical work.

Steer Clear. This is not a legitimate electrical company. Gave me an estimate and did the electrical work for an EV charger in our condo building. Even though building management didn't request City of Chicago license initially, they checked for it later (it can be asked for at any time) and this company is not licensed in the City of Chicago and its illegal to do residential work without it. The job was done completely wrong and he almost blew the sump pump and electrical to entire building by connecting to a panel inexplicably and was told not to. Installed wiring that was bent and broken and taped together which could have caused shocks and burning. New contractor easily installed it - no bends or breaks. The wall outlet installed was open and exposed, and if water dripped to it could electrocute people. Sloppy, cut corners, dangerous, illegal and not up to code. Absolute garbage, rushed work. Refused to get City of Chicago license and come fix job. We will be pursuing our money back. This is an illegitimate electrical company. Avoid at all costs.

Addendum to review:

Right, I'm not an electrician , but here are couple facts that a real electrician should have known and done, that found out about your job.

You were told by the building engineer to use the 480/277 volt panel because 208/120 was already at the capacity.

You just plainly ignored that and proceeded with your version. Maybe you don't know the difference between two.

You ran 208/ 120 wires through 480/277 panel which was a huge code violation and a human life safety issue.

And that's not all:

Then you spliced those wires inside that panel multiple times -- code violation.

You then decided to use lightning contractor conduit to run the wires and overfill that conduit -- code violation.

You installed the breaker at the wrong panel (which was at capacity) so you overloaded that panel.

The wire was badly scraped

You removed pipe straps and made the electrical conduit loose -- code violation.

J boxes that you installed were unsecured and loose with knock outs missing -- code violation

I'm still waiting on the city of Chicago electrical registration paperwork  from you.

A qualified electrician would know right away that he is working with 480/277 volts and would have informed me that i needed a step down transformer in order for the EV charger to work!

On top things you have charged me over $2K for 2 J boxes and a roll of #6 wire, which costs $600 at the most. The piping was already 97% there , so what took you so long.

It took a qualified electrician a total of 8 hours to remove the faulty work and install everything from scratch including installing the transformer.

We'll happily accept a refund to settle this matter

High quality work for a great price. Very impressed and will be hiring them for more work in the future. They hung a chandelier in my house with very high ceilings and it looks great.

Jake came to fix an electrical issue on our rooftop. He was able to quickly identify the problem and address it. He was very friendly and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend!

Trademen drive me crazy! They get paid as much as a doctor or lawyer yet they: leave you waiting for days, cancel at the last minute, jack up the cost over the estimate, and leave a mess behind for you to clean up.

BUT NOT BLACKLITE! I called Neville (notice we all call him by his first name - I also am on a first name basis with the two excellent electricians who helped, Alex and Johnny) and he promptly got back to me, scheduled a time, provided an estimate, showed up on time, provided excellent advice, did excellent work, and charged me exactly what he quoted even though it took more time than expected.

His quote was $400 less than the other electrician that cancelled on me after I had taken the day off work to meet them.

Great work, and great guys. Stop looking around for an electrician. There is none better than Blacklite.

Tom installed a Tesla rapid charger in our garage yesterday. He did this with professionalism and expertise. I will hire him again for future electrical needs.

Noel and Kieran did a very professional job of installing a Tesla charger in my garage.  They were on-time, prepared, efficient, and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable and experienced.  In addition, they made it a point to clean up the area before they left.   They were an absolute pleasure to do business with and I will definitely call them again for future electrical needs.

Sunday night half of the power in my home went out. I called Mike first thing Monday morning and he instructed me to have Com Ed come out and take a look (even gave me their number). Com Ed came out and explained the problem to me. I called Mike who broke his schedule after learning that we had no heat and immediately came over.
He went above and beyond any and all expectations I had and restored our power for a very reasonable price.
I have to note that Monday morning I spoke with 4 different electricians, Mike was the only one who told me to contact Com Ed. There was someone else who came out , but he turned the job down. Mike was the only one who took a genuine interest in helping me. Mike at Advance is now my go to guy for all things electrical. Thanks Mike!!!

Victor was fantastic. I immediately felt I could trust his knowledge and service. He gave me a quote on the spot which was very reasonable and he got the work done quickly the next week. I would hire him again in a heartbeat for any electrical work.

AArdvark came to my house to change out a ceiling fan and install a $2500 chandelier. My ceilings are also 25ft high!!! They arrived on time and did a great job. I also asked them to check out some new ceiling fans that another company had installed but only worked with a remote. AArdvark was able to make a great suggestion about these new light switches and they went out and bought them and installed them for me. Now my fans work with the switch instead of the remote. Their pricing is also fair. Keep in mind they charge by the hour not job. I would recommend them for sure. In fact I received a check back for $90 because the owner said I was overcharged. I thought this was a very honest thing of him to do. I will be using them again for my electrical needs

Quick service and installation of a tricky light fixture! Took two hours for a new chandelier, but that was with needing to do a little re-wiring. Professional and easy to work with!

I can't say enough good things about LMV. We were stuck in a nightmare of electrical work after a previous owner of our house left a big mess. We had a few other electricians come out to quote before Lucas, and none of them were as professional or knowledgeable. LMV was the only place we worked with where we didn't feel like we were constantly being sold on additional, unnecessary work.

I have to highly recommend the most honest Electrician on Yelp is Eugene from Vilano Electric. Not only is his competitive flat rate $50 compared to $125 from other competitors, he is Honest and Frank as well. I am selling a home and the home inspector from the buyer stated I should update AFCI circuit breaker per current code. After speaking to Eugene, he was honest enough to give me a good quote over the phone where most electrician would rather come over and give you the quote on site. He also updated me on the AFCI code for the city of Chicago. STOP looking around Yelp for other electricians, give VILANO ELECTRIC a call NOW.

Mo was great. I had a list of tasks and he took care of each one. From fixing a hinge on an outside gate, caulking in two bathrooms, replacing a faucet, replacing toilet rings, and redoing a laminate floor. Each was accomplished in a timely manner and  was quality work. I would definitely hire him again.
