Best Wiring Installation in Philadelphia PA
They were great. Super helpful - gave us a quote right away. The quote was a lot more than I expected, so we are still shopping around. We will probably end up using them because they were so responsive and helpful.

I contacted Greg about my repairs, but, unfortunately I am out of his service area. He did, however, respond to me with great advice and guidelines(which he didn't have to do) that I really needed. I followed them to the letter and can't thank Greg enough. With his help, I'm convinced I was able to find a very good electrician, whose not out to rob me.
Thanks Greg

Bought a house in 2012. The inspector noted open splices in the junction box that needed to be fixed. Lauterborn Electric had great reviews so I felt comfortable in calling them to get an estimate along with several others companies. During the time of reviewing the job we noticed water was leaking in from the outside service cable. I felt them to be trustworthy. Through the process, Larry & his sons were on time, very professional, knowledgable & well priced. They installed a new 100 amp service cable, meter socket, 100 amp 30 circuit panel, new breakers, new GFCI 30 amp line for my electric dryer, bonded & ground the system, installed a bedroom light and ceiling fan. United inspectors came out 2 days after the job was done. Very easy process and very satisfied with the work they did. Already got another job lined up for them to do in the fall.

JDV is a fantastic business! They are reliable; responsive and truly care about the customer. All of the service reps are well trained to be in the field and take care of the electrical issues.
I have had some large jobs completed; as well as small.
Everyone is very knowledgeable; caring and they explain in detail all that is being done. Joe and his entire team are terrific.
Today Steven helped me check out outlets and electrical issues!
I have my full trust in JDV! They are awesome!!! Thank you for always keeping me safe!!!

Tony and Edison worked hard all day on a ethernet network and surround sound installation that turned out to be longer and more complicated than originally thought, but only charged the agreed estimate.
They did a really great job, using their expertise and skill to figure out the best way to run the wiring with only 3 drywall holes for fishing wire when I was expecting the job to require 7. Afterwards, they even did a first layer patch on the three holes. There was not much space behind the drywall making the job pretty hard, but they accommodated all my requests and gave great advice when I was suggesting ideas that were obviously bad in retrospect.
Other electricians I had contacted said they would not terminate the ethernet cables, not do any patching of the drywall at all, or tried to sell us on running the cables outside the house just because it would be easier for them. iTech Electric were the most professional, the smartest and most reliable out of any I talked to, while still being in line on pricing with other providers. I could not recommend them more highly!

I've only had my inspection so far but I really recommend this company! A Black owned business with wonderful workers. Maliek was professional, knowledgeable, and super nice. He was able to explain everything to me as a first time homebuyer in a way that made sense. He also went over my home inspection with me and found issues that the inspector didn't. Also I was given two price points to choose from for the work I wanted. Great all around!

I needed an electrician for my tenant who suddenly lost power on a hot summer day. I called GE electric after initially going with another company that had basically tried to rip me off.
Edmund, the man that responded to my call was honest, straight forward and prompt. He got to my tenant's house within half hour and fixed the problem for me under 10 minutes. He charged me a very reasonable rate, and gave me a quote to replace the box and a power cable outside of the house. He did not pressure me in any way to get all the work done, but did the minimum necessary to get the electric running again.
If you are looking for an honest electrician that will get the job done, I would highly recommend GE!

PG came out to restore power to our doorbell. They replaced the transformer quickly and without issue. They were right on time, professional, and did good work at a good price. Also good communication

Very educational and responsive. However, we weren't able to move forward with hiring them (maybe in the future) to due the 95 dispatch fee. I still would recommend them given how professional and respectful they are.

Alex was great! He was nice, patient, reasonably priced, and efficient. It was very clear that he knows what he is doing and takes the time to explain some things about the electrical wiring in your house, if you're interested. I will definitely use him again.

Thomas Edison Electric came out on a Saturday and replaced two light switches in my house. The gentleman was right on time, very pleasant and professional. These light switches are in my kitchen and very important. I have nothing but good things to say.

I was happy with the work done by EP Electric; they were very responsive in December when I needed 2 outdoor outlets replaced. They came within a day of the request sent to several electricians. While at my house I asked for an estimate to have some switches changed to dimmers. The next time I needed an electrician was to change out some light fixtures. Again, EP Electric was pretty responsive and available in my timeframe. Since I had used them before, I was comfortable having them come out. When that job was complete, I again discussed the dimmers I wanted and we discussed when I wanted to get the work done. We are working on a schedule for this week and I think it will really add to the ambiance of my house. Looking forward to it.

Joel was great. Had an issue with lights on my deck. I thought it might be the transformer but decided to wait and let Joel figure it out. Just a short, no new transformer needed. His fee was less than a new transformer I was ready to buy. Thanks Joel.

Found him through yelp. Owner came out to do a free look and sent me a typed estimate. One his employees came back on promised date and installed 2 ceiling fans and 2 light fixtures. Owner sent me receipt and remained professional and polite even when i fussed at him about something that was not his or his tech's fault. (That alone would've earned him 5 stars!)
This is my first home and of all the people I've contacted for different repair/maintenance services he has been the most professional, least pushy and decently priced. I'm sure I'll use him again.

I wanted to share my experience so that others are aware when looking for an electrician.
Alba Electric was recommended by my realtor. We needed knob and tube wiring fixed for a house that we were in the process of buying. In order for us to move forward with a settlement, the insurance agency needed to see a receipt from the electrical company showing that we had put down a deposit and had scheduled the electrician.
I did not want to put over 2,000 dollars in the mail in Philadelphia so I sent the check through certified mail so he could sign for it. He responded asking us why we were afraid to send a check through regular mail and refused to pick up the check at the post office. I even offered to drop off the check!
Since we really needed to have this receipt for our settlement next week, I went ahead and sent another check via regular mail. 5 business days later, he claims to not have received a check in the mail. We put a hold on both checks (60 dollars)!
What a headache and waste of money : /

Chris answered and returned calls very promptly. He came out to check out a problem with our electric box and we trusted his recommendation and replaced everything. He kept us informed the whole way with timing and permits, etc. He replaced our whole electric box and the feed line outside the house. His work was very clean, timely and thorough. I do design for a living and was happy to see how clean and organized his work was on the actual box. He was very informative explaining some things we needed to know for the inspection and even called to remind us of when it would be. I had pretty bad anxiety oer our electric box going bad, but, he was here the day before xmas even getting all of the work done and we now have a great peace of mind about our home We will absolutely be calling him for more work.

I called this company on a hot summer day when my tenant called me and told me her power went off. I was running around town with my two kids, so in a hurry I decided to call the first company I saw on yelp. I really wish I had taken more time to look for a more reputable company.
First, be aware that this company has multiple listings for different locations all over the city. If you look at their other listings, you will see the many poor reviews that they have received.
I received multiple phone calls from different people after my initial service request. They repeatedly told me that there is a $165 charge for emergency dispatch, and that once they do an inspection, they will let me know what the cost of the actual work will be. When the technician got to the house, a guy named Steven Miller called me and said he wanted me to pay the dispatch fee upfront before anything is done. He then sent me an email to get my written authorization to charge the credit card. All of this seemed a bit odd to me... the multiple phone calls, the written authorization, the fee up front... but I didn't think too much of it and just proceeded.
About 10 minutes after I paid for the dispatch fee, Steve calls me back with his technician on the phone to tell me that they have to charge me another fee for the diagnostic. I told them that my understanding was after spending $165 they would be able to tell me what's wrong and give me an estimate on the cost of the work. He then proceeded to repeat everything that he and another one of his employees had already told me over the phone multiple times. I told him that I did not feel comfortable proceeding forward and that I was going to call around to see if other companies have similar practices. He then had his other employee (a woman with a courteous voice) call me to try to reason with me. I told her again that I was going to call around and if this is common practice, then that's fine, but if not then I will be leaving a long review for them.
I got off the phone with the woman and called another local electrician. This man was honest, prompt and straightforward. He came out within half hour and fixed the problem for me under 10 minutes and charged me a third of what Thomas Edison had quoted me for simply coming out and finding out what the problem is (not including any work done).
Needless to say, I will be sticking with my honest electrician from now on. Steve did call me again to tell me that he would not charge me the $165 as a courtesy to make me happy. I thought for a second about not leaving a bad review, but I decided that I cannot let this company get away with unethical practice. This company needs to know that people are not stupid and this kind of bait and switch business practice will only backfire. Simple honesty, trustworthiness and respect for people is the way to go.
