Best Boiler Services in Albuquerque NM
I had an ancient boiler for baseboard heat & domestic hot water heater. Both at least 27 years old, really!
Before catastrophic failure, I requested 4 bids from HVAC plumbers. Of the four , 3 submitted bids; 1 suspiciously low & 1 really high & one in the expected range. Only Baker Plumbing sent the actual plumber to do the bid. That is Steven Baker himself. He arrived at the time agreed upon, asked the right questions & got an itemized bid back in 1 day. Work started on time and finished when anticipated. He came in on target with no overcharges. He explained fully & helped getting tech info for custom settings.
Steven Baker plumbing is highly recommended.

I am currently living out of state and I had a leak in our rental and Donner Plumbing came out within a day to fix the leak. I was very pleased with the customer service and the speed of which the job was completed. The price was great as well. I will always use Donner Plumbing!!

Often we write reviews only when we want to complain. This company was excellent. They came when they said they would, they were courteous and careful, and best of all they knew what they were doing. I recommend Antonio's without reservation. They put in a new air conditioning system. They weren't the lowest or the highest estimate. They were in the middle and they did a fine job.

Great service! Very prompt and reasonable! I called them to repair a leaking shower head, it turned out to be a broken valve. It was going to require cutting a hole in the drywall, John did a great job with the repair and clean up. Would recommend!

We tried to get our toilet to stop rocking. The bolt broke off when we tried to tighten it. When we removed the toilet we discovered that the toilet flange was completely rusted. We got the referral for Ramos Plumbing from our neighbor. They arrived exactly as scheduled and gave us an estimate. They happened to have a break in their other jobs so they were able to do the work right away.
We figured since they were already in there they could replace our leaky shower valves. Both jobs were completed quickly, efficiently, and no mess left behind. They were so courteous. We are extremely pleased.

After install we had multiple issues and found that the condenser was not the right size for our house; the company did come out and put a new one. We then started having issues with the thermostat and that had to be replaced. We had the technicians out multiple times due to the air not working correctly and then we started having continued outages with no air and we could not get it to come back on for hours. Techs came out again and said we had an error on the board and then thermostat would need to be replaced. We also found out after hiring multiple other companies to come out the system sold to us would never work together properly. We also found out the warranty registered to us was for the wrong units and had never been updated. After countless emails with Annette the owner she agreed to put in another heater. Heater install was a nightmare and it was not installed correctly the unit was not square and the unit looks used. She has since stopped responding to all emails, had never fixed the thermostat issue and had never updated the warranty paperwork. I would not do business with the company and if you do make sure what you are being sold will work together and is registered to you. Since they are no longer respond she also has taken the money we paid for the extended warranty and also never gave us a final invoice when we had the unit installed after repeated requests.

I moved to Santa Fe and purchased a house that had something called a Swamp Cooler on the roof. I since have learned Swamp Cooler are evaporation coolers, a science that has been around since the time of the Romans. Anyway, my realtor, realizing that I probably needed some help when I asked if there were alligators in the swap, suggested that I have units tuned up by Roadrunner. Having never owned a house equipped with an evaporation cooler before I was unsure of what a tune-up included. I thought that a it might include removing the canvas cover; checking the pump and motor; adjusting or replacing v-belts as needed; replacement of the fiber pads if necessary and checking the float with a general cleaning of the water reservoir. I, of course, assumed that parts would be extra.
I was on the west coast when the service expert arrived. He spoke to my wife, who texted me that the repair for the unit would be in the area of $1,451.39 or more. She explained that there was a field mouse nest within the cooler's reservoir along with a multitude of other problems. I asked her to hold off on the repairs until I returned from my trip. We thought that maybe we would just go ahead and install A/C.
When I returned from my trip my wife provided me with a hand written estimate completed by the service expert.
After reviewing the estimate I was surprised to say the least. The expert removed the pump from the cooler and told her that it needed replacement. I guess he thought it was defective. I plugged in and it pumped water until I disconnected it two weeks later. Months later it still pumps away like the day it rolled off the assembly line in China.
According to the note given to my wife by the expert, the V-belts needed to be replaced in both units. $150 for the replacement of one belt and $127 for the other. I am no expert on these matters, but looking at both belts they looked okay to me. I replaced them both for $10.00. Is there something I missed here? Shouldn't the tune-up include adjustment of the belt? If the belt needed replacement, how much trouble would it be to replace it. Again, I am no expert, but it took me five minutes. What really is remarkable is that the expert didn't seem to realize that units are identical. The $150 belt was the wrong size. Apparently the last expert to service this unit installed a the wrong sized belt. Never-the-less, $277.00 to replace two fan belts seems, well, outrageous. Maybe there is something I don't understand about loosing the bolt, taking the old belt off, putting the new one on and then adjusting the tension.
He removed the float. Does it really cost $119 to replace it. By the way, I reinstalled it, and it is up on my roof as I write this letter, seemly floating as it should.
The expert found both of the 90 degree elbows in the watertight electrical conduit to be damaged and he estimated the cost of replacing them at $580.00. Was this work to be done by a licensed electrician? I spoke to a friend who owns a high voltage splicing company and he thought that for that price the work should be done by a journeyman electrician and the high amount must include a move in fee. I replaced both lengths of conduit in 30 minutes, which included replacing the wires and ensuring the installation satisfied the NEC.
The expert told my wife that there was no water service on the roof. He has a point here. I've never been a swap cooler expert but I would assume there is not water flowing to the roof because the supply valves must be shut-off. This after all was tuneup on a unit that had not been operating during the winter. Hummm, where could that ball valve be? Maybe when I realized that the water supply come up from over the bathroom and kitchen sink that I might start my search there. Eureka! I found it. I'm surprised he didn't tell the Mrs. that we had to run a new line from the Rio Gande.
I was born at night, but not last night. What value did I received for my $235 tune-up. The only value I can see is that the expert removed the cover and left it on my roof. Was this high estimate a sales tactic to encourage the installation an AC unit? We did receive an estimate from the company to install two AC units.
With the exception of the replacement of the electrical, everything that I did to make these units functional should have been included in the Tuneup.
This reminds me of the fraudulent auto repair shops you occasionally see investigated on the evening news. What makes me think this is the estimate was written on the back of an employee time sheet. The front indicates the employees are paid a commission and also get remuneration for up sales.
They are not big on customer service either. I sent the manager an email regarding this and he didn't even bother to favor me with a reply.

We recently moved into our house and had major plumbing issues. MGP is top-notch! They were so clean, professional, and helpful! My husband was deployed, and I'm nervous about letting people into my home, but I had no problem letting them in my home and leaving while they were here! The prices are very fair, and they offer a military discount. While stationed in Albuquerque, we will never use another plumber. I Would 100% recommend MGP Mechanical!

Update:this is sort of a double update for the last two visits. On October 26th, Tech Kurston came to shut down my swamp cooler & turn on my heater for the winter. He was very polite and knowledgeable, explained what he was doing and then tested my house for carbon monoxide before he left. An outstanding employee.
This next update is for today February 27th.
I had a toilet in my main bathroom being uncooperative. I got a text from #1 plumbing with a picture of the Tech Don saying he was on his way. Which is an awesome safety feature. I also got a call from Don saying he was on his way. He arrived on time with another tech named Angelo.
Both were very professional and helpful. Don has been here before and as always is very pleasant to work with. They quickly diagnosed the problem, gave me options and up front pricing then solved the issue quickly and cleanly. They were both great! Number one Plumbing has never let me down and I will always call them first and recommend them whenever I can. Just great service!

Absolutely terrible service. Called for a sink installation, got a reasonable quote, set up an appointment, and three trips later I have had to call another company to fix their work. The first guy that came in was asking for reviews before he did anything. He left a sloppy job and had to come back the next day because he didn't have all the parts he needed. 2nd time he came in we were left with a huge leak. They sent in another employee(who coincidentally happens to have the same name as somebody leaving them 4 star reviews) he fixed the leak but left us with more problems and an unusable dishwasher. They offered to fix their mistake for another $450. When we told them absolutely not, they offered to lower the cost slightly. We got our issue resolved with another company for a fraction of the reduced rate they gave us to correct their own mistake.

They were repeatedly HOSTILE AND THREATENING over misunderstandings. They forgot to turn our gas back on before leaving. (Which was why nothing was lighting, which they were aware of.)
Stay far away.
Stay far away.

Was overcharged for a simple tankless water heater flush. Two men sent for a one person job, one who didn't do any work other than translating for the one who did all the work. Nice enough fellows but poorly equipped. Drain hose was connected without a washer and ended up spraying water all over mechanical room/garage. Call someone else.

The worst plumbing company in ABQ. SINGLE WOMEN BEWARE!!! Had an Apt. scheduled since begin of September to fix a leak. AB came out on 3 separate occasions. NO SHOWED to their final 4 apt. to fix the original issue. 3rd apt. Art the owner said he would be out to completely fix the issue with the leak, TOOK THE DAY OFF and scheduled the water to be turn off with my condo's property management. The morning of, I called they said they were busy and would not be able to come until between 3-5. 6pm came and still no AB. When I called to ask when they would be coming I was told I don't know, they are busy. 3rd time, came out to repair leak but put the job off to turn on heat instead. Told me that my furnace would need to be replaced and that they do not make furnaces anymore so I would need to switch out my swamp cooler to central air. BS!!!!! 2nd time out, called because the leak that was scheduled for them to fix became worse and water was poring out of the wall on a Sunday at 10pm arrived at 12am. I told the tech where the water shut off was ( in neighbor's garage) Instead of listening to me he begin going through upstairs rooms. My sister was in her room with both doors shut unaware that they had arrived and was changing. The tech without knocking entered into her room while she was naked stood there then walked out. She started screaming at him, he came down the stair and quickly capped the leak off and left. The next day my sister called the office to have them document the incident as she felt very violated. The office woman told her that the tech was upset and it was her fault. My sister asked her to please remind her techs that when doors are closed to knock, she again was blamed for the incident. I called Art and he was very attentive to our concerns regarding what had happen to my sister and reassured me that he would personally work on our leak to keep us as customers. So we had them out again giving this company the benefit of the doubt. BIG Mistake... If you are a single female be careful of this company. They have no respect for their client's time or privacy and will try to take advantage on more then a financial level.
