Best Heater Repair in Pittsburgh PA
We have used Scott Boyd plumbing ourselves and recommended them to my mother and our son for various jobs. Here's the first unique thing - they answer the phone!! Number 2 thing is this( wait for it) they actually show up when they say they will.. I know most of you will call bs on that, but it's 100% true!! We have been stood up by various plumbers ( yeah you know who you are) so many times I still can't believe these guys show up!! And if they have the parts , they fix what needs fixed. And what they charge is really reasonable. Nice people, decent prices, good work. And don't forget- they actually SHOW UP! So if you want a totally new experience- give these guys a call.

I called Brett because I needed help with a job, and he didn't have any openings today, but actually referred me to another plumber that might be able to help me out. There aren't many people out there that would try to help someone when they aren't receiving any business, but Brett's did. Thank you for trying to help me, it's certainly much appreciated.

I have hired Petrack Plumbing several times. Here are summaries:
Appointment #1: The plumbers removed an old utility sink and installed a new utility sink in my laundry room, removed a 1970s-style wet bar in my living room and capped its pipes, and snaked a gutter pipe outside. Afterward, my new sink and pipes worked great.
Appointment #2: The plumber used a camera to determine why my gutter drain pipes were not draining properly. He determined that a dry well/pit in my yard was full and needed to be replaced.
Appointment #3: A different company had installed a new washer and dryer in my laundry room, and they caused a gas leak and did not level the washer and dryer. Petrack Plumbing arrived at my house in less than one hour. The plumbers reassembled my gas pipe, and they leveled my washer and dryer. Then they charged me $0!
Appointment #4: Petrack Plumbing flushed the pipes from my gutter downspouts to my dry well/pit (*different* downspouts, pipes, and dry well than months earlier). They said that my gutters and downspouts are probably clogged and that my dry well might be full as well, but my dry well does not need to be replaced because it can overflow down the hillside.
Then Petrack Plumbing replaced a leaking copper pipe in my basement. The pipe had a pinhole, so the plumber replaced that section of pipe with new copper pipe. They said that the other copper pipes in my house are the thicker-wall Type L pipe, so they should last for more decades.
Appointment #5: My hot water heater and expansion tank were about a decade old and probably nearing the end of their lifespan, so I hired Petrack Plumbing to install a new water heater and expansion tank. Two plumbers arrived 1.5 hours early, but they did call in advance for our consent. They spent 2.5 hours doing the installation. At the end, they explained to my husband and me what the different parts do. The plumbers had noticed that the old expansion tank and pipes were connected to the hot water rather than the cold water, so they installed the new tank and pipes in the correct location. This extra work cost a little extra money, but the final price was still a couple hundred dollars less than another company's estimate.

We had Fady come by to make some repairs and we were so impressed by his professionalism, respect, and work. He showed up with a mask covering his face and booties in his shoes before I even answered the door. What a really nice man, too. Highly recommend, all around great experience.

These guys were fantastic. Very friendly, professional. We had a plumbing emergency, they responded very quickly to the call. Came out the next day and fixed the issue. The price was great, and the job was done really well.

If you're looking for quality plumbing work, hire Joe. First, he returned my call after hours, which showed me that he really cared about my problem. He came the next day to fix my faucet and took the time to evaluate another issue we were having. Joe is a super friendly, honest guy. He's a true master at what he does. I highly recommend him for any plumbing need.

Have been calling Matt Brown for years. This time around I tried to be a DIY'r and I totally destroyed my bathroom plumbing. Matt Brown came on a days notice and fixed in an hour what took me weeks to botch. Very clean, professional, & polite. Will defiantly call again.

Michael was just out at my house to service my furnace. He could not have been nicer and more professional. I am not very savvy when it comes to furnaces but he answered a few questions I had. Could not recommend this company enough.

We discovered a leak in one of our copper pipes late in the evening on a Friday night. I started looking for a plumber to come out ASAP -- Klug Plumbing was not only the only one to call me back the same night but also come out first thing the next day.
Bob assessed and repaired our pipe, while checking if anything else was affected by the issue. He expertly repaired it and had it working within an hour.
I appreciated his communication leading up to arrival and how he explained the issue he found. If we ever have more plumping needs Klug Plumbing will be our first call!

I contacted Mr Waterheater on a Sat., as my tank was leaking. They came early Monday, as promised. The installers were very professional and did an excellent job. My complaint is with the price I was quoted. The quote was for $700. No mention was made of any additional fees. The bill was an additional $90, $30 of which I ok'ed to move the expansion tank. There was a $10 removal fee, which I was not told about & an additional $50 fee because I had a water softener. When I called to question the price, I was told the quote was between $700-$750. It was not. When I originally mentioned the water softener, I was told it would be no problem. These were, pure and simple, add on fees because they knew they could do it. I'm not a complainer, but feel I was taken advantage of. If they insist on the other quote, I would challenge them to replay the call, as most companies record their calls today.

Mr. Brown was very receptive to our call! This time he responded right away and Cameron was here within a few hours to fix our emergency. Cameron was excellent and knew exactly what he was doing. We will definitely use this service again! I am so glad we gave him a second chance!
Thanks!
Thanks!

Adam our guy came out twice. Most definitely spent the time trying to find out the problem with our water pump. He spent 3 hours to figure out what 2 other plumbers and the city could not. We ended up needing a part so we had to order and he came back to install it. Came back at exact times he said. He knew what he was doing and looking at. We will definitely be using them again for all of our plumbing needs.

When Mike Weibel steps out of his van, he is not wearing a red cape, but he could. If I need Mike, typically it is because I have a small disaster at my house: no cold water in the guest bathroom shower, water flowing out of the wall under the kitchen sink, a commode that won't shut off, a backed up drain in the basement, or a collapsed drain in the garage. Mike comes promptly -- on the same day if the disaster is in progress. Whatever he fixes stays fixed. He is an accurate diagnostician and knows what products will provide long-lasting service. He is courteous and good-humored. One of my cats loves to help Mike, and he asks for her now as he comes through the door. Mike has rescued me for many years. The Weibel Plumbing phone number will remain posted on my refrigerator as long as I am living here.

About a month ago I got a call from Fagnelli. The person Justin on the phone explained that they are scheduling free AC checks since summer is coming. I have lived in my residence for 8 years and I have never had my AC looked at I figured maybe that would be a good idea and its free. I had never had an issue with my AC unit. The tech from Fagnelli arrived on April 9th. About 5 minutes into the visit he comes in with a capacitor in his hand and says this part is dead and he used a volt meter in front of me to show me. He explained he couldn't do anything further to check the system without replacing this part. The part was 291 dollars. I have never put any money into the unit for the duration of my time in this home so I agreed. I figured probably needed it. So, he replaces it and about 20 minutes later he comes in telling me every is 'I'm good to go' . 2 weeks later we had the first really hot day. I turn on my AC. After 2 hours the temperature didn't go down 1 degree. I checked the vents no cold air was coming out. Since, I had paid Fagnelli 300 dollars and I was told my system was 'good to go' from their tech, I was a bit skeptical to call them to come back out and look at the system. I called someone else to take a look and I paid 79 dollars for diagnostics on the system. The second guy runs the tests and discovers absolutely 0 refrigerate in my system. He then goes into the basement and explains to me that to have 0 means quite a significant leak and he can run a nitrogen test to try and find a leak which is going to cost 300 dollars. And since everything is expensive when finding a leak and the system age, I might want to consider a new one. I immediately stop him. I wanted to give Fagnelli a call and find out why their guy didn't tell me about the lack of refrigerant when he came out to do the first test. Through basic reading and knowledge from the tech here he explained there is no way 6-8 lbs. of refrigerant would have leaked out within a month after the first tech visit. So, the tech cleans up and he decided to look at where my stem valves should be for my system. He comes to the door and says hey do you know your stem valves are missing. I not knowing anything about AC units had to have him explain. Without steam valves my refrigerant will leak out. So, I call Fagnelli and ask them the procedures of the free check. First off Justin could not find a sheet with the checklist of what's done during those checks which is always a positive start. I wanted to be fair about everything. Maybe they only do basic checks for the free thing. But he mentioned he knew some on the top of his head. And checking pressure and refrigerate levels was on that list. I then explained the story to him. I asked him how could his tech not see that I have 0 refrigerant levels. He didn't know. I told them my stem valves were also missing. He seemed to understand what that meant but then acted like this could no way be true. He said something like I don't know how to say this because you wouldn't have a reason to lie about this but I can't find the right words. Well once I asked him if his was insinuating that I wasn't telling him the truth. There were just immediate apologies. 'That's not what he meant' 'He doesn't even know what he's saying right now.' Yes, those are words he used. I understand no one in a business wants to hear that maybe their work wasn't good and maybe he was rattled. So I forgave him for the gaff. I asked him how a tech could sell me a 300 part for a system that obviously if he did his job properly, he would have seen that there was no refrigerant in its and a much bigger issue. Surely that's not in the customers best interest to pay 300 for a part for a broken unit. Remember I never even called these guys with a problem. They called me. He told me he would need until Monday to figure out what happened here. So, 5 days to figure this out. Plus, he wanted a copy of the 2nd techs invoice. Which I have no idea what good that does them other than knowing who came out to double check their work. No immediate action on my complaint. I spoke to a close friend who runs an HAVAC place in Greensburg he said that sometimes when techs work on the unit they remove the stem valves and are supposed to put them back when they are done. That's what I believe has happened here. Except they were not put back and all my refrigerant leaked out.. People make mistakes. But I cannot decide to buy a new unit for 4000$ when I don't even know if the unit there is even bad. And stem valves don't magically disappear nor would a unit run successfully for 8+ years without those stem valves. I have called back and told them I would like to speak to a person of authority and haven't been given that courtesy. Finally Justin called me not a boss as requested and authorized a refund for the capacitor part but still the cost of replacing the missing stem valves and the refrigerant far outweighs that cost. Beware.

Our drain in the driveway from storm water was not draining properly. Since it's a shared line with our neighbor, the neighbor and I jointly called Mark Allen Plumbing to have it cleaned with a water jet and have a camera to determine what, if any, problem exists.
Jesse came promptly and performed the duty of the hydro cleaning. He was prompt, polite and professional. He explained the process and answered questions and worked very hard to clean the drain. Once finished, he told us the camera was not on his truck and another person would come to do that portion in a few minutes. We were very pleased at this point with our experience at Mark Allen Plumbing and especially with Jesse's services.
As promised, the gentleman with the camera appeared literally 5 minutes later. He introduced himself as Shawn and said he would use the camera. From the moment he emerged the truck to greet us, he appeared annoyed to be there. He began by feeling the grass around the property with his foot, then asked us to remove the downspout so he could put the camera in. We thought it odd at first that he asked us to remove the downspout, but we obliged. Next, he proceeded to put the camera in and told us he couldn't see anything. He then apprehensively tried the other drain to get a better look. He wasn't very keen on having to get on the ground to reach this drain. After a few moments he again said he could see nothing. When the camera emerged in was clean, not covered in mud, debris or anything else that would lead us to believe nothing would be visible. Shawn then proceeded to tell us that we had a problem, but could not tell us what the problem was. He explained we would need to have the ground dig out 5' deep to figure out what the problem was. Obviously, we had many questions for Shawn to better understand what the problem was and why the camera couldn't tell us anything. He was unable to give us answers to any of the questions, only to repeat we'd have to have the land dug up. Shawn became more agitated and then told us that what we paid for the service was incorrect, and that the camera is free not a paid service. He then proceeded to tell us he'd refund our money since he couldn't answer our questions And we were upset at this point by the lack of answers to our questions. Shawn was unprofessional, agitated, and lacked the knowledge needed to perform his job. We didn't ask to have our money refunded. We received A service and expected to pay for it, but we also expected to have a diagnostic of the problem and did not receive that.
We started the day praising the efforts of Jesse and his company, but that quickly waned when Shawn began his job. By the time Shawn left, we felt certain that we were a victim of bait and switch as he was trying to upset us to much more extensive work in digging up our properties. If this is the business model that Mark Allen uses it is unfortunate and disgraceful. We called after Shawn left to speak to the owner, but were only told the owner would be relayed our message.
Beware of this company and their up sell/bait and switch strategies. We will not use this company again.

Don't waste your time calling Nussbaumer, they are horrible. My insurance company sent them out to replace my hot water tank. Nussbaumer came out replaced the tank but didn't replace the 2 gallon exp. tank. They put there label on the front of the exp. tank, when in the back of tank had MR.Water heater label. Nussbaumer made it look like it was replaced even made it look newly sealed. I checked there work and noticed that. I called Todd the owner he got back to me the next morning. He sent some one out the next day to replace it. It started leaking the next day so Todd sent someone else out, bottom line 521.00 the first time, 321.00 the 3rd time. I feel that they took advantage of a disabled man, they knew about the disability. Never again.
