Mark Allen Plumbing was hired to replace the subfloor, our pedestal sink, our toilet and replace the ceramic tile in our bathroom. The project was supposed to take 2 days, took many more. I did not get to see the final project myself until about 6 weeks after the project was complete due to being hospitalized otherwise I would have complained. There is a hole in the floor where I can see into our basement. Our toilet clogs monthly. I'm almost certain I could have laid the tile myself 34 weeks pregnant with my triplets better than what was done by their tile guy. The tiles are uneven and the spacing is terrible. The grout is cracking, and no I have not used bleach on it. 10/10 do not recommend!

I had a two hour job at the most and they quoted me $875.  I wouldn't let them near my property after that insult. Choose wisely and most of all STAY AWAY from this robber.

Utter rip-off artists IMHO
$575 for a 45 min gas leak repair
Plus 1 of the guys took a crap in our ladies room on the clock
Then...challenged Sean (scheduler) about a $350-$450 estimate for a backflow preventer test
Said that is average
Really
Had Lakewood mechanical do it for $105...took 15 min
WTF...are you kidding!!
Never again...and you shouldn't either

leaky faucet in bathtub which just needs a new faucet cut out, refitted with new etc (I know enough about plumbing) and proposal with a whole bunch of other stuff I didn't ask for was 2,700. Come on fellas.  I guided the conversation of how it can be repaired and they said they could do it and cost was 675 if I supply faucet and do other work.

Im all about paying for service but let's be realistic here.   I do not recommend.

Highly inflated prices for drain cleaning and plumbing services. Technician was pleasant and showed up within the provided time frame, however wanted to charge $300 to pull a toilet/replace wax ring, and an additional $250 to clean a clogged drain. I declined service.

Was charged a $55 trip fee (waived if you accept service) for me to tell the plumber what I needed done and him to reveal pricing, despite the website and advertisements touting free estimates! The estimates are NOT free if you decline to have the work done, or simply cannot afford it.

charged us to come out for a dye test which they couldnt complete due to inadequate equipment (camera was too big for sewage pipe)  while also unnecessarily tearing a garden downspout to see where it leads out (clearly into a planter)

I heavily recommend not using  this company if you have an old house.

Not only was the contractor deceptive in his practices (seizing back the written quote when he decided to arbitrarily increase the price by more than 50%), he also overcharged for the work by a factor of 10.  If I could give ZERO stars I would.   Read Tina B.'s review.  Use anyone else.

we contacted them because they could come out on an emergency basis. We had a backup in the upstairs bathroom and water was pouring into the downstairs.
They came out and gave an estimate of $400-1600 to use a jetter service to clear the clog. The tech came the next day and went through both the roof and removed the upstairs toilet. He worked for 3 hrs and said he cleared the clog. He told my husband that he didn't have the right tools or parts to replace the toilet and told my husband to replace this. He also didn't have the eqi to do the camera test. He charged us $1535 for the jetter service and $85 service call and left. After my husband made 2 trips to Lowes to get the parts to replace the toilet (not having water this whole time) I emailed the company about the tech not finishing the job. They sent someone out to put The toilet back on. Then while they were there it turns out that the clog was not fully cleared and the tub was now clogged. They cleared this and then left.
Someone called a few days later about the camera test and said they would charge another $250 for the camera test. we chose to use another plumbing company. I felt $500/hr is alot to pay for plumbing.  Esp when they might not finish the job.

I called Mark Allen Plumbing to make repairs to my water heater.  They took my information and stated that they would call me back and make arrangements to do the work.  Now a month has passed and I have had no call back.  The hot water tank has quit and I have no hot water.  I am tired of uncaring contractors who can't or won't do what they say.  Do not deal with this company they do not care about you or your problems.

called them to check our kitchen faucet which stopped working and check on a downstairs leak from the wash tub. Kitchen faucet needed replaced and they wanted $625 for a new one.. just the faucet. Said we had broken pipes under the concrete in the basement - the boss quoted $3200 over the phone. after an hour nothing was fixed and they charged $265 for a Diagnostic fee... Called another plumber, replaced my faucet I bought at Lowes for $129 and snaked the pipe in the basement and charged $125! Everything is fixed now

Our drain in the driveway from storm water was not draining properly. Since it's a shared line with our neighbor, the neighbor and I jointly called Mark Allen Plumbing to have it cleaned with a water jet and have a camera to determine what, if any, problem exists.

Jesse came promptly and performed the duty of the hydro cleaning. He was  prompt, polite and professional. He explained the process and answered questions and worked very hard to clean the drain. Once finished, he told us the camera was not on his truck and another person would come to do that portion in a few minutes. We were very pleased at this point with our experience at Mark Allen Plumbing and especially with Jesse's services.

As promised, the gentleman with the camera appeared literally 5 minutes later. He introduced himself as Shawn and said he would use the camera. From the moment he emerged the truck to greet us, he appeared annoyed to be there. He began by feeling the grass around the property with his foot, then asked us to remove the downspout so he could put the camera in. We thought it odd at first that he asked us to remove the downspout, but we obliged. Next, he proceeded to put the camera in and told us he couldn't see anything. He then apprehensively tried the other drain to get a better look. He wasn't very keen on having to get on the ground to reach this drain. After a few moments he again said he could see nothing. When the camera emerged in was clean, not covered in mud, debris or anything else that would lead us to believe nothing would be visible. Shawn then proceeded to tell us that we had a problem, but could not tell us what the problem was. He explained we would need to have the ground dig out 5' deep to figure out what the problem was. Obviously, we had many questions for Shawn to better understand what the problem was and why the camera couldn't tell us anything. He was unable to give us answers to any of the questions, only to repeat we'd have to have the land dug up. Shawn became more agitated and then told us that what we paid for the service was incorrect, and that the camera is free not a paid service. He then proceeded to tell us he'd refund our money since he couldn't answer our questions And we were upset at this point by the lack of answers to our questions. Shawn was unprofessional, agitated, and lacked the knowledge needed to perform his job. We didn't ask to have our money refunded. We received A service and expected to pay for it, but we also expected to have a diagnostic of the problem and did not receive that.

We started the day praising the efforts of Jesse and his company, but that quickly waned when Shawn began his job. By the time Shawn left, we felt certain that we were a victim of bait and switch as he was trying to upset us to much more extensive work in digging up our properties. If this is the business model that Mark Allen uses it is unfortunate and disgraceful. We called after Shawn left to speak to the owner, but were only told the owner would be relayed our message.

Beware of this company and their up sell/bait and switch strategies. We will not use this company again.

One of the best business out there is Mark Allen Plumbing and Heating! I would highly recommend Mark Allen to my friends and family!  On 8/15/17 my A/C broke down. We called Mark Allen and got same day service ,he fixed what was needed and let me know that I did not need a new unit which other companies before were offering me. So thankful for going with such a trustworthy, reliable company! It was the best experience that I ever had. I am very thankful for Mark and his wonderful employees!

Just charged my grandmother $700.00 to unclog her toilet. They only unclogged it and reset it no parts or anything. They were there for less than two hours. They then said they actually waived the trip charge. Pathetic, I stand by my comment to the guy that they take advantage of people that don't know better. Unfortunately she still paid them because they had given her a quote. How unfortunate.

Advertised as 24/7 so when I had a problem with two toilets not flushing on a Friday night, I called them at 12:30 AM.  The woman who answered sounded like I just woke her up.  I asked for someone to come out the next morning.  I'd give 5 stars for promptness.  When the guy looked over the problem he saw that the drain stack was leaking and would need to be completely replaced, along with needing a new toilet.  Knowing this diagnosis was (putting it gently)BS, I thanked him for his advice and said I'd think it over.  Then I called a real plumber who came the next day and correctly diagnosed a clog in the outside drain line.  He and his helper did the repair and all is well, without needing a new drain stack or a new toilet.  So, minus 4 stars for not properly diagnosing the problem and for trying to upsell an unneeded item.

Am sitting in a house in which EVERYTHING is covered in fine dust from
replacing an 8x5-foot bathroom; however, the only thing in this ONLY bathroom now is a toilet. The floor is plywood, the walls are open studs. I wash hands & face, brush teeth, wash dishes, cook, etc., in the kitchen sink.  Luckily I have a basement utility sink where washing machine drains to take a bath, i.e. a washcloth bath.  I now have washing, clean-ing, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, dry cleaning, etc., EVERYTHING in a bedroom, den, kitchen, dining & living rooms, & two basement rooms the size of the first floor.  Am afraid to go up to second floor bedrooms!  The plumbers started Monday & it's now Friday night. I have the weekend (& the past week) WITH ONLY A TOILET in the plywood bathroom! Every-thing from the bathroom is stacked here, there, wherever there's space!  While I have used Allen Plumbing before, this is a complete & utter disaster & will be cleaning this mess for at least a month & who knows how large a dry cleaning bill plus others for cleaning supplies to wash, polish, clean, sweep, dust, vacuum EVERYTHING:  window sills, curtains, drapes, rugs, carpets, all furniture, two pianos, lamps, ceiling lights--you get the idea--everything on the first floor & two-room basement!  The furnace/AC will need be professionally cleaned & its three-month old filter needs replaced!   Everything is covered in fine dusk--even the back porch which is OUTSIDE; the bathroom window is/was open!!!  Forget the temperature outside is in the high 80's so the air conditioner is also full of dust & sending it out everywhere!!!  If you need major plumbing work done, be sure to talk to several plumbers, ask questions & compare answers; don't just trust positive assurances.  Remember YOU'RE the one living with results of the assurances!  It ain't pretty or positive for you!  It's weeks more work and expense!
