Best Water Heater Repair in Pittsburgh PA

We have used Scott Boyd plumbing ourselves and recommended them to my mother and our son for various jobs. Here's the first unique thing - they answer the phone!! Number 2 thing is this( wait for it) they actually show up when they say they will.. I know most of you will call bs on that, but it's 100% true!!  We have been stood up by various plumbers ( yeah you know who you are) so many times I still can't believe these guys show up!! And if they have the parts , they fix what needs fixed.  And what they charge is really reasonable. Nice people, decent prices,good work. And don't forget- they actually SHOW UP! So if you want a totally new experience- give these guys a call.

I called in Brett for a broken shower handle. I was very pleased with his work. He was very efficient in getting the job done. I also appreciated that he cleaned up everything afterwards. Brett is a friendly guy and very knowledgeable in plumbing. He took the time out to explain everything and share some tips with me. I would highly recommend his service.

I have hired Petrack Plumbing several times. Here are summaries:

Appointment #1: The plumbers removed an old utility sink and installed a new utility sink in my laundry room, removed a 1970s-style wet bar in my living room and capped its pipes, and snaked a gutter pipe outside. Afterward, my new sink and pipes worked great.

Appointment #2: The plumber used a camera to determine why my gutter drain pipes were not draining properly. He determined that a dry well/pit in my yard was full and needed to be replaced.

Appointment #3: A different company had installed a new washer and dryer in my laundry room, and they caused a gas leak and did not level the washer and dryer. Petrack Plumbing arrived at my house in less than one hour. The plumbers reassembled my gas pipe, and they leveled my washer and dryer. Then they charged me $0!

Appointment #4: Petrack Plumbing flushed the pipes from my gutter downspouts to my dry well/pit (*different* downspouts, pipes, and dry well than months earlier). They said that my gutters and downspouts are probably clogged and that my dry well might be full as well, but my dry well does not need to be replaced because it can overflow down the hillside.

Then Petrack Plumbing replaced a leaking copper pipe in my basement. The pipe had a pinhole, so the plumber replaced that section of pipe with new copper pipe. They said that the other copper pipes in my house are the thicker-wall Type L pipe, so they should last for more decades.

Appointment #5: My hot water heater and expansion tank were about a decade old and probably nearing the end of their lifespan, so I hired Petrack Plumbing to install a new water heater and expansion tank. Two plumbers arrived 1.5 hours early, but they did call in advance for our consent. They spent 2.5 hours doing the installation. At the end, they explained to my husband and me what the different parts do. The plumbers had noticed that the old expansion tank and pipes were connected to the hot water rather than the cold water, so they installed the new tank and pipes in the correct location. This extra work cost a little extra money, but the final price was still a couple hundred dollars less than another company's estimate.

We had Fady come by to make some repairs and we were so impressed by his professionalism, respect, and work. He showed up with a mask covering his face and booties in his shoes before I even answered the door. What a really nice man, too. Highly recommend, all around great experience.

These guys were fantastic. Very friendly, professional. We had a plumbing emergency, they responded very quickly to the call. Came out the next day and fixed the issue. The price was great, and the job was done really well.

I would highly recommend Marshall Plumbing. Joe was at my very old home with very old plumbing within 2 hours of when I called. I had a leaking toilet with water dripping through the ceiling below. Although the old plumbing proved to be a challenge and took a lot longer then I'm sure he expected, Joe completed the job at the quoted price and did a fantastic job! He is very professional and neat and just a nice guy who took the time to explain to me what he was doing. I will definitely use Joe from Marshall Plumbing in the future and will recommend him to anyone who needs fast, professional and reasonable plumbing services.

Have been calling Matt Brown for years. This time around I tried to be a DIY'r and I totally destroyed my bathroom plumbing. Matt Brown came on a days notice and fixed in an hour what took me weeks to botch. Very clean, professional, & polite. Will defiantly call again.

We needed a plumber immediately because our garbage disposal was clogged. Within a few hours time the plumbers were able to come out and work their magic. Nick & Joey were Very knowledgeable, personable and efficient workers. Thank you for your excellent service & quick response!

DO not use this company for gas lines if you value your family/ home!!!  Mike came in and moved gas lines and DID NOT cap one of the gas lines. The gas got accidentally turned on,  I got sick because the gas and could have lost my life / home. He also, didn't light the water heater. So my husband that is 71 and just had bypass Surgery had to light it, laying on th basement floor.
Mike came back to fix the problems and  being in my 60 he made me feel uncomfortable/ uneasy . He blamed me for the gas leak!!  He was not to blame for not capping it, because it had a flared end. After that I didn't want him in my home, so i didn't tell him of the other problems.
Melissa  Mcnabb told me they don't use used parts, but a week later told my husband that they do. I paid top dollar expecting new part. Not my old parts and used parts, plus for the work to have been done correctly, and not having  to fear for my life and home.
They don't  stand behind there guarantee that states; That if a plumber is disrespectful in your home and you are not 100% Satisfied with their  service you will not have to pay for the service. They only paid us  $100 for a $627 bill. I guess that this is all they value this potential disaster at, even though it was their plumber's Incompetence that caused this. We were told because they did work that's what we got back. Mike worked a total of  2 hours 25 minutes. Material, with a 3 times mark up was about $90. Will never recommend this company

We discovered a leak in one of our copper pipes late in the evening on a Friday night. I started looking for a plumber to come out ASAP -- Klug Plumbing was not only the only one to call me back the same night but also come out first thing the next day.

Bob assessed and repaired our pipe, while checking if anything else was affected by the issue. He expertly repaired it and had it working within an hour.

I appreciated his communication leading up to arrival and how he explained the issue he found. If we ever have more plumping needs Klug Plumbing will be our first call!

Found the tank leaking Friday night. Called as soon as they opened at 8 the next morning. Scott answer immediately, asked a few questions and set up an appointment on Saturday afternoon. Nick installed the new tank under two hours. Very professional and knowledgeable. Put tarps down to protect the finished basement and did a quick walkthrough after the install.

Mr. Brown was very receptive to our call! This time he responded right away and Cameron was here within a few hours to fix our emergency. Cameron was excellent and knew exactly what he was doing. We will definitely use this service again! I am so glad we gave him a second chance!

I have a new furnace/air conditioner as of today, all successfully installed by Paul and Jeremy.
They were on time, polite, and professional and are employees of Restano, not sub-contractors, which is of huge importance to me.
The end price matched my on site estimate from an earlier visit by Perry and total elapsed time was under 6 hours.
They showed me how to work the new wifi programmable thermostat, showed me changes to the furnace setup, how to change the filter, where new holes were drilled to the outside and new water drainage.
They will come back in the Spring to check the air conditioner installed to ensure it is set up properly.
And, they cleaned up everything afterwards.
Happy and pleased.

My water tank suddenly went out and I needed help. My neighbor recommended Ben Franklin plumbing. I called and they responded promptly. An appointment was set and they showed up on time.  I got a new water tank.

But this does not describe the level service that I received. I was thoroughly impressed with not only their professionalism but with the dedication of the installers. This was a really good group of honest guys.  I was truly comforted to see the pride and dedication that my technicians portrayed.  As crazy as it sounds, not only was I thoroughly impressed, I was moved by their honesty and straightforwardness.

When Mike Weibel steps out of his van, he is not wearing a red cape, but he could.  If I need Mike, typically it is because I have a small disaster at my house: no cold water in the guest bathroom shower, water flowing out of the wall under the kitchen sink, a commode that won't shut off, a backed up drain in the basement, or a collapsed drain in the garage.  Mike comes promptly -- on the same day if the disaster is in progress.  Whatever he fixes stays fixed.  He is an accurate diagnostician and knows what products will provide long-lasting service.      He is courteous and good-humored.  One of my cats loves to help Mike, and he asks for her now as he comes through the door.  Mike has rescued me for many years.  The Weibel Plumbing phone number will remain posted on my refrigerator as long as I am living here.

Selling a house, and the day before the closing PWSA says we need a dye test (pgh2o.com/dye-testing) before the sale can go through.

My real estate agent spent her afternoon calling around trying to find a plumber who could conduct the test on short notice. After making a dozen calls, she spoke with Eric from Fagnelli Plumbing.

Eric came through for us! He was able to perform the test on very short notice, and got us what we needed to satisfy PWSA. If it weren't for Eric at Fagnelli Plumbing, we'd have had to delay closing until after the holiday.

Utter rip-off artists IMHO

Horrible! I see why their BBB rating is an F. Two months dealing with them to fix my water heater. Let's start with I didn't choose them & from the moment they were scheduled to come to my house, I knew it was going to be a problem. They came to my house after my water tank was off for days, tech was able to get it back on by firing the pilot up. I informed the tech that I tried that & it doesn't stay lit. He insisted it was fine & wrote if it happens again to call b/c he knows the problem. Okay call me crazy, but if a part is bad or going bad why not replace it then. Fast forward 3 weeks, no hot water again, fml, over a holiday weekend! So i place a call, Nussbaumer Plumbing insist they knew the issue without coming back to the house. I complained to the home warranty service rep & Nussbaumer Plumbing about how is this possible without an additional visit to make sure. Nussbaumer Plumbing insisted that they knew the problem and would order the part. Best part was if I wanted to overnight the part, it would cost me an additional $85. Ummmm no thanks & you should have ordered that part last month! So now I have to wait 10-15 business days for this part because it's not an emergency. Guess washing your hands, body, cooking, & cleaning aren't important. So finally the day has arrived, the part is in, & my family lives can go back to normal. The techs come & I envision myself in warm relaxing bubble bath drinking a glass wine. Then boom... my dreams & hopes shattered. Yep, you guessed it folks, they order the wrong part. Tech insures me they can over night the part. Oh, but they couldn't b/c my home warranty wouldn't cover it. Excuse me, but my home warranty shouldn't have to because it was your mistake. They thought that I was going to pay the $85. This place is a joke. I called my home warranty service & got different company to come out. This other company fixed it the next day, no 10-15 business days, & no $85 fee. I'm a pretty patient person, but I can't stand incompetent ppl or those who try to take advantage. Nussbaumer Plumbing is both. Do yourself a favor & don't go with this company! Wish I could give them 0 stars.
