Woke up to an ice cold house this morning.  Found innovative Radiant Heating on Yelp and called them. Was fortunate to get a same day appointment. Ramnar arrived right within the anticipated time window, and proceeded to (1) test our radiant floor system (2) diagnose the problem (a broken pump from too much air in the system) (3) call the parts dealer (4) pick up the part (5) replace the broken pump and (6) show me what to do if the system starts gurgling too much and pressure drops.  All of this accomplished in 2 hours and 15 minutes!  
Ramnar was very professional and friendly, and we will definitely call them a gain for any future issues.

Called for a quote on a new water heater.  The woman on the line was very evasive.  Didn't want to give me a price.  Kept saying the guy would have to look at it.  Everyone else I called either quoted me a fixed price or cost of the heater plus hourly with a ballpark amount of time it would take.  Finally, after practically begging for any kind of price quote, and all but drawing a diagram of the location from the driveway to the gas line fittings, she quoted me $1,500.00 for a job that I got done for $750.

Don't even bother to call.

I called Albert Nahman Plumbing to have them fix a pump they installed years ago to get the hot water to my distant shower.  I was told it would be far better to install a tankless water heater which would not only solve my hot water problem but lower my utility bills (that remains to be seen but I'm doubtful). But I did agree to have them install the tankless water heater to the tune around $7000.  I was also told I would have to pay an additional $800 for an inspection and permit.  I assumed that would be city inspections and permit, but instead an employee from Nahman Plumbing came and spent maybe 15 minutes in my house.  He said he was going to put insulation on one of the pipes, but I never saw evidence of that.  Then he went and sat in his truck for four hours until the permit man came who was from the city and charged $125, so I guess I was paying $675 to Nahman Plumbing to inspect (for 15 minutes) their own work.  Somehow that just doesn't seem ethical?  Am I wrong?

Ray was my go-to plumber for a few years. He was generally available, his prices were reasonable, and he did good work. But then he started to grow and his prices went up. It seemed like his employees were just less adept at getting the job done quickly. Eventually, I experienced a serious sewer problem on a large building, and his bid was way out of line with the other bidders on a job of several thousand dollars. I'm not saying don't use Ray, but be sure to get other bids before you do!

David came out to our home to install a dishwasher and kitchen faucet.  He was very professional and friendly.  Did a great job.  Would definitely use this company in the future.  Prices were reasonable.

I'm extremely pleased by their prompt and efficient service. They were available for same day service and arrived exactly on time.  They followed up quickly with a replacement part and were personable and friendly.

We had issues with our water heater and Anthony was quick to respond in 10mins after sending him a message on yelp. He came by and temporarily fixed it but he recommended we change it soon due to to it being around 11years old.

About 3-4weeks later we could feel the water was not as warm while taking a shower and raising the temp on the water heater didnt help. He was right about changing it soon so we called him to replace the water heater before it blows up. He made sure in not cutting corners and he replaced also the switches, parts of the pipes, and vent. He did a great job, keep it clean, and made sure all was good. I would recommend him highly for the job!! Thanks again Anthony!!

Had Joe out this morning to take a look at our water heater and other appliances in our old apartment, make sure nothing was out of sorts. He was super friendly, showed up shortly after the start of the window we were given, taught us a lot, and could not have been more gracious and knowledgeable.

I'm taking a star off my review, though, because the ultimate cost of our service call included travel time, which was not mentioned to us upfront. All in all, these guys are great, and certainly more professional than other options offered in the Bay Area.
