Johnathan and his intern came out to fix a leaking toilet problem.  They were on time, courteous, and very knowledgeable.  We had previously had them come and do some work during a kitchen remodel.  It is hard to find a company who will do both big and small jobs.

COVID-19 has been challenging in many ways - for us adults, but even more so for our kids.

Our girls have been home since March. They've had a few good days and more than a few not-so-good days. On these not-so-good days, I'm proud to say that they've mostly smiled and made adjustments - to distance learning, to limited social time with friends, to having their parents constantly around, and to spending more time with each other than they expected.

But there are some things kids should not have to compromise on. Like functioning bathroom faucets.

When my wife noticed that the faucets in the girls bathtub and sink had become quite difficult to operate, likely due to extensive use over the last eight months of sheltering-in-place, she called Valley Plumbing, a Pleasanton downtown fixture for as long as we can remember.

Logan showed up in his Valley Plumbing van within the specified two-hour time window. He took a look at what was needed and got to work, going back to the van for parts as needed. He wore a mask and shoe coverings, worked quickly, and did a stellar job, completing everything in a little over two hours. We had no complaints except a minor nit around cleanup (he left some boxes and wrappings on the counter instead of binning them).

Final bill was $480 with parts and labor, well within our do not exceed price window. Well worth it as the girls have functioning bathroom faucets again.

Pro-tip: Valley Plumbing charges a flat hourly labor fee as a minimum, and then charges in 15-minute increments.  It is wise to batch several plumbing jobs and take care of any small nuisance work that may be pending, rather than call them for one-offs. We had Logan replace our garden taps in addition to the job he was originally hired for.

Save yourself a headache and money.  The estimate for a Bradford White water heater installed....was $500 higher than Barnett Plumbing who installed it the same day!

This used to be my go to company.   Should a leak cost over $2,000 and numerous visits including leak detectors at $150 an hour?  Just wondering.  If you insist on going here....at least use Jonathan.

The owner contacted me after I complained about a customer service issue and personally offered to make things right if in fact there was a problem. You can't do much better than that.

Beware when doing business with this company. We called them to come out and replace a toilet in our second bathroom. The plumber they sent was friendly but didn't seem to know what he was doing. Took him 3hrs to replace 1 toilet. Gave us a bill for over $400. Make sure to get several estimates before calling this company

I called for an issue I was having with the water heater and was told that I had to pay over a hundred dollars just for them to come out and look at it. Why on earth would I pay a service fee when so many other, better companies come out for free service calls? I called a different plumber (Barnett Plumbing) who came out within the hour for free, then charged parts and labor to fix the heater. Total cost was less than what the service fee would have been with Valley.

Our water heater was leaking late Friday night.  Saturday morning we called around to several places to get quotes on replacing the heater.  Valley Plumbing had the exact size and brand we needed, the quote was within the margin of all the others, and they could put it in that day!  The woman I spoke to on the phone to arrange the whole deal was pleasant and very helpful.  The repairman Steve was efficient and had us a working water heater in a couple of hours.  I would include Valley Plumbing Home Center in your search for a plumming repair or service. We were glad they were available to us on a Saturday.

I Scheduled an appointment for a thermalcouple part to be replaced on our water heater.  We have been without hot water for about 4 days.  I was told that the appointment would be today between 8-12 I even called this morning to confirm the appointment. They confirmed the appointment between 8-13. At 12:30  I called the company to ask when they were coming and all of a sudden they have the appointment scheduled between  12-2? I spoke with the service manager asked what the company  policy was for missing a 4 work window.  They had none. She Barely apologized and didn't offer any compensation.  Not very good customer service very frustrating.

Reached out to a number of different local plumbers in the Tri-Valley area to get a bid regarding replacing a leaky shutoff value for our main water line. Not only was Valley Plumbing the most upfront regarding the cost of the project in their bid, but more importantly, they completed the work at close to half the cost of the next closest bid.

Logan showed up on time, was professional, and did great work.

I highly recommend using Valley Plumbing.

I had the worst day ever yesterday and these guys came through in a pinch. Hubby went to hospital, two of my three children were sicker than anything and both my toilets were clogged. I made one call to Mike and Sharol, and they took care of it for me. David was a hard worker and was quick. Solved our problem and made my day so much better. Thank you for going the extra mile for us!!!! Word of mouth is best PR and I'll be telling everyone!!! Thanks again Valley Plumbing!!!

I've been using Valley Plumbing for a few years now (usually Mark comes out and does excellent work) but now it was time to replace my old galvanized steel pipes.

I called 4 different local plumbers to come give estimates. Two never returned my call, the third set up a time to meet and then no-showed, and the fourth company was Valley Plumbing. John from Valley made an appointment to come over to do the walk around and sent me a written estimate the next day. The choice was obvious.

Kirk & Travis did a fantastic job on the repipe of my early 60's home in Livermore. They not only took a lot of pride in their work but also they took great care of my home while they were here. From the initial estimate walk around to the final inspection, Valley Plumbing was professional all the way through.

I walked in just needing a small part for a leaky faucet, but honestly I know nothing about DIY anything.  The woman at the counter was helpful and nice and didn't treat me like the dummie I felt I was.  In and out in a few minutes, and the part was exactly what I needed. I would never in 1 million years have gotten that level of expertise and help from Home Depot or even ace hardware. Ergo I was very grateful that it was not painful.

I just moved to this area and bought a 90 year old home, so we had several (4) plumbing projects we needed to do.  I got 5 estimates. Valley was quick to come out, sent someone very knowledgeable and gave us several good suggestions for the biggest project - a bathroom remodel.  Their estimate was 2nd lowest.  They scheduled the work fairly close in (3 weeks) and came when they said they would.  The main plumber did a great job solving some unforeseen issues, and communicated well.  Because of some tougher than expected under the house ancient plumbing work, one of the jobs took 8 days instead of 5.  However, Valley kept to exactly the original estimate.  I was relieved!  The workman made sure everything was exactly as I wanted it.  The next jobs they did went just as well.  I definitely recommend Valley.

I have been a long term client of Valley Plumbing and believe in working with local businesses.   It is disappointing that after a week of 1/2 visits every other day that my plumbing issue is larger than when it started.  This company obviously has more business then it is equipped to handle and thus clients suffer. I was made to feel as if I was lucky that they were helping me at all.  Told I would be prioritized only to have the repair cut short for a third time. The two stars are for the plumber, David who tried to solve the problem.  Given the unusualness of my issue you'd think by the third visit they would have sent a more senior or experienced person to work with David.  But $1,100 later, I have a huge hole in my backyard and can still not do laundry or dishes.  This is not the company it used to be.  Very disappointed x-customer.

I had an issue with a toilet install.  Mike from Valley Plumbing responded immediately to my complaint.  Fantastic customer service - right?  I jumped the gun and took down my original scathing review.  When I called to set up a time to have Valley Plumbing come out to fix a faulty install, I requested a Saturday appointment so I would not have to miss any more work.  I was told by the office person that I would have to pay an overtime rate.  I decided to not to spend the effort to make it easy for Valley to correct their mistake. I hired an awesome handy man to finish up for them and to also do some work in another bathroom.  I won't be calling Valley again.

One of the worst plumber experience I had ever in my life!

We called them to replace a kitchen faucet and install an insta-hot water heater and dispenser. They took more than two hours at more than $100 per hour to just change the kitchen faucet. Then, even before making sure that we had all the right parts, they took out our current drinking water dispenser and the soap dispenser, and then the guy said they cannot install the hot/cold water dispenser because it has copper pipe in it which is not suggested for a Reverse Osmosis water filtration system.

All right - so far, except for the exorbitant price to change a kitchen faucet, we can live with the fact that the installer could have checked for the pipe before dismantling our current water filtration faucet system!

After dismantling the filtered-water faucet the installer said he will check their company store and by next day he will either bring another hot/cold water dispenser that will work, or let us know if they don't have any.

Next day we never heard back from him. Then the next day I called, and asked for an update. The guy said he is still looking into it. Then three days later I again called their office, and they said they will have that installer call me back. No call. Then again after about a week later I called their office and asked for an update. They took my message and said someone will reach out to me. Three days have passed by, and no call from them.

So here I am, with my kitchen sink left in a under-repair state, 10 days into it, and no call from these guys! We have been buying bottled water hoping this guy will show up with right parts to fix what he left in unfinished state. But so far no word from him! This is one of the worst customer service experience I had in my life.

Hope others can benefit from it and take their business elsewhere.

We discovered that our toilet was leaking on a Saturday.  We had used Valley before so I called and booked the next available appointment without a problem.  They gave me several options with a 4 hour window witch I consider typical in this business because they really don't know what they are going to run into until the actually do a job.  This unknown factor can really cause the schedule to fluctuate...and I understand that challenge.  I run my own business and it's important for me to be there so, although I was given a 4 hour window, they worked with me to allow me to stay at work as long as possible by moving my appointment back as far as possible in the day.  When the technician (Jack) arrived, he tested the toilet and sure enough, he got it to leak.  He also discovered, to my surprise, that our water shutoff valve for the toilet water supply was not working so he had to shut the water off for the whole house.  He didn't have the kind of shutoff valve that we had in our home in his truck so he took a picture and sent it to the store.  They confirmed that they had one in stock and then Jack gave me the option of picking it up while he worked on repairing the leak and I gladly accepted.  I really appreciated that they would work with me to minimize the time involved in the repair and thereby the overall cost to me.  I found the whole experience to be exceptionally good and the professionalism was exemplary...once again.  When I read the reviews, I noticed that Mike took the time to address any issues that came up where a client was less than satisfied and also thanking those that wrote good reviews.  I found that effort to be unique and clearly showed me that he cares about his business and his customer service.  I've been in business for 25 years and this is how I feed my family so you better believe that I care about how my team treats my clients.  In that regard, I totally appreciate where Mike is coming from and I appreciate that he cares enough to attempt to resolve every issue that comes up.  No business is perfect so, for me, the effort to make things right trumps just about any issue that comes up.  This is the second time that we've used Valley Plumbing and I write, without hesitation, that we would recommend them to anyone that is willing to listen.  Thanks Jack for a job well done!!  Mike...you have a great staff!!

I usually work with referrals but in this case we were looking for a showroom for bathroom faucets beyond what big box store have.  Everything from helping with large choice of fixtures at their Pleasanton location to the final install was great.  Plumber arrived and was extremely thorough & extremely neat.  The only downside if you wish to call it that was we had  to call to find out if fixtures arrived at the warehouse.  When I called to check they were in and we scheduled appointment which was only a few days out.  Would use them again for next project.

My Mom called them Saturday afternoon about our leaking water heater and they got us on the schedule for Monday for a replacement. The water heater was 10 years old and was now in need of being replaced. The lady who my mom talked to asked about if she wanted them to pull the permit for if we were going to pull it.  The tech did a good job and did the job quickly and explained the new water heater to us. When he is done with the job, my mom asks about the permit and the tech didn't have the information on their paperwork. After talking to the tech for a little, we decide we will go pull the permit for the water heater. We go down to the City offices the next day and come to find out, their business license for Fremont has expired and has been expired since 2009... Without a current business license for Fremont, we cannot get the inspection completed...  My mom called Valley Plumbing back to let them know and she talked to two different people and was told that they would get back to her. We waited a while and called back later and talked to one of the same ladies. They still didn't have an answer and said they they would call us back the next day. Still no call... so my mom calls them again and still no answer to them fixing the issue. We got told that the owner was not there and they probably wouldn't have an answer till the next day.

Be wary if you are pulling the permit for a job and that their business license is current for your particular city.... If their license was not current for our city and they knew we wanted a permit they should not have taken the job...

They are getting 2 stars because the tech was nice and did a good job. Its the lack of follow up on the office side and the owner or whoever is in charge of making sure that their licenses are current in the cities that they do jobs.

Valley was recommended by our real estate agent after we purchased a home.  They arrived on time and fixed a number of problems including a slow drain, relacement of valves and flappers on constantly running toilets and a shower leak.  The plumber worked quickly and efficiently.  The only downside is the 1-hour minimum labor charge, but our repairs exceeded that so it wasn't a problem.

I would highly recommend.

Note: unclear if this is the same business as the other Valley Plumbing on yelp.

I'm another in the integrity before profit is a joke camp.  Their plumber came out to fix a hose on my kitchen faucet that was sticking.  He spent two hours trying to fix this $75 part then gave up and went to the store to replace it.  So, paid for two wasted hours of labor and then had to pay him to go get my part and install it.  Was over $400 to fix a sticking hose.  And two months later it was sticking again.  I called them to discuss the bill and what I felt was gross over-charging.  The receptionist seemed to sympathize, but said I'd need to speak with the manager.  She took my number and said he'd call me back.  He didn't.

Their commercials really piss me off with that slogan now every time I see them.

I used Valley Plumbing a couple of times in the past and have been satisfied with them.  Today they were the first plumber I thought of when the pipe to the spigot in my front yard started leaking with a fast drip from one of the joints.  A plastic pipe is disintegrating where it connects to the short metal pipe to the spigot (house is 50 years old).

In a panic I called Valley Plumbing but the first available appointment for someone to come out to my house is 8 days from today.   Eight days is entirely too long to wait when your outside water pipes are disintegrating and leaking water.

I told him I couldn't wait that long and would call another plumber.  He said he could add me to their waiting list in case of a cancellation but that he didn't think that would happen.

I called a different plumber and thankfully they are sending someone out one day from now.

Disappointed, indeed! Charged me $115 for doing nothing.
I'm not sure what has happened to them. Their customer service, which over the years has been stellar, has gone way down!
We scheduled a service call to fix a broken faucet. The technician arrived, took one look and said there was a broken nut, which we have to order from the manufacturer. He charged me for that visit, even though he did NOTHING. When I expressed concern about that, he called their office and they said they would give me a credit for the next visit when we get the part and they came back to fix it, since he was not able to do anything for us.
When we got the part, I called them back and they sent another technician to fix the faucet. I was completely under the impression that we will not pay anything for the second visit. But no, they still sent me an invoice for $115, and keep calling me to collect!

By far the best place to go to when you need any plumbing done.  An example for my husband and I was a time when our hot water heater gave out.  It was old and did need to be replaced.  We had contacted another local plumbing service who quoted us a ridiculous price.  We told them we would shop around and get back to them if we decided to go that route.
Once we called Valley Plumbing, we explained what we needed and to our surprise, a plumber came to our home, installed the new water heater, on a Sunday by the way, and of course hauled off the old one at no charge.  Their quote was significantly less than the others and the person who came to our house was very professional and thorough.  I would recommend Valley Plumbing to anyone!

Interestingly, at about 4:45 PM today (1/14/17) Stark called me back. He said he was getting back to me following my visit to their showroom on 1/6/17 (this was the only contact from Valley Plumbing since my visit to the showroom to talk to Stark 8 days earlier). I told him I had made other arrangements in the meantime to deal with my kitchen faucet since I had not heard from him earlier. He said these kinds of things take a while when they are trying to retrofit a fixture. Although I suspect his call to me today was a result of my 1/11/17 review on yelp, I will probably never know for certain. Today's call to me did not change my impression; I am no longer a Valley Plumbing customer.

Valley was my plumber for most of the 20 years we have lived in this house.   It was worth it to get it done right and now they would resolved any problems.   But after a leaky kitchen faucet they repaired flooded my kitchen counter 2 1/2 weeks later over the 4th of July weekend and then having to wait 4 days to get them to come out and resolve only to be told by Seiberrt that it wasn't leaking now but to go down and talk to Dave if I wanted to replace it altogether.  Dave agreed to apply the labor guarantee toward replacing the faucet so I bought one from them.   The next day they charged me again to install it.   Dave had gone home so I was told to go down the next day and talk to him to resolve.   Dave was off the next day so Cindy told me Mike was going to call me to discuss after reviewing.   No call, no voice mail.   Just promises and a suspect 30 day labor warranty.  We got tired of trying to resolve this and took the loss.   Apparently their motto is now more marketing than reality.   Its a shame, they used to be good.  Peeled their labels off the Water Heater, disposal, etc and picked a new plumber.  Now looking for a good handyman to use for stuff like this.

Great service from Valley Plumbing. From Sharol to Adam taking my call for scheduling (getting me taken care of a day early!) to Jonathan actually installing the thermocouple on my water heater. They were very professional, timely, and the price was only what I was quoted (a fair price), no unnecessary up sale as well.  Very satisfied.

I highly recommend Valley Plumbing.

Valley Plumbing has been our go-to Plumbers for the past 8-9 years when we started experiencing plumbing problems with our remodel.  They came in a fixed what wasn't done well. EVERY time, the service techs were professional, friendly, and ALWAYS delivered more... giving up tips/hints/help on other items that they saw as potential issues.  Late last week, we had our Water Heater go bust and called them.  Of course we had a unit that was smaller than the 'norm' (only 50gal), so they had to order it, but they had a great tech at our doorstep this morning at 7 am to install it. He was brand new, but SO SO friendly (Steve) and was just like the other techs we've seen.  Professional, friendly, and again, gave me some other tips/hints we could use to help improve things.  They are a must-use business for anyone looking for a plumber.

It's never a good time to have your toilets stop working, but it's especially stressful on a Sunday evening at 7 pm when you have family visiting from out of town. I called 3 plumbing services: the first got back to me right away but their On-call tech was already booked; the second I left a message (who didn't call me back until the next day); and Mike at Valley Plumming who actually ANSWERED my call! Yea!
Mike explained up front the hourly rate  & that we would be paying double time due to the late hour on the weekend.  The technician worked quickly & efficiently to resolve the problem.  He was neat & left everything clean.
We were very pleased that everything went well & he was done in less than 2 hours.  I would recommend Valley Plumbing for emergency services.

After several in house bids we decided to go with Valley Plumbing for a bathroom remodel .John came out and walked us through what we would need, he took the time to answer all our questions, and came back with a detailed estimate that we decided to go with.
We could not have been happier with the results and the work that was done. Christian was excellent in all the work he did to every detail. John followed up as construction was being done with questions that came up. And Virginia in the office was a great help in going over payments as we went through the process.
Overall, we are very happy with the work that Valley Plumbing did, and we will continue to use them for our needs as we have for many years.
 I highly recommend their work!

Had a really nasty job, working in crawl space, and Valley.. was on time and completed the job in a reasonable amount of time. Area was very dusty and difficult to access, but personnel were very nice about the difficult conditions. I also had them inspect plumbing because other neighbors had issues, but Valley did a very thorough inspection.
Have used them in the past and always satisfied.

Had them come out for some urgent issues a couple times. No problems. Then, I called to ask if they could install a garbage disposal (yes, they can). I asked if I should buy a disposal before they come. The scheduler said the guys have them on the trucks. So I took the day off work to be home on our scheduled day. The plumber that came took one look at my sink and said Oh, a farm sink. I don't have the right disposal for that.

He said I had to pay for a full hour regardless. So, I had him look and fix a small leak. That took all of 15 mins. I said The scheduler should've known to ask me what kind of sink I have (farm sinks are more and more popular these days anyway). Since I was told that you guys have disposals, can I get a 45 min credit for another call?.

The plumber abruptly said Nope. He told me I could talk to the manager but I probably wouldn't get anywhere. The rules are the rules. And then he made it clear he would not speak to the manager for me. Said I needed to call myself.

These visits are not cheap. I wasted a lot of money for nothing and that is not right.  The plumber's attitude made it even worse. So, now I keep Valley's magnet on my fridge as a reminder of who NOT to call.

I got more than I expected - excellent.

I called Valley plumbing for a kitchen sink backup issue. Mark from Valley plumbing  showed up on time. He is very knowledgeable and professional. Not only he fixed the issue within 20 minutes, but also he showed me some other issues with my faucet and fixed it. He cleaned everything up after the job. Since he had some time left in the one hr minimum ,he asked me if there is any other issues. I showed some other minor problems with the bathroom faucet and the air gap hose, and he promptly fixed both these problems. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing issues.

Very Bad Plumbing Service!
We had them fix our shower leaking with new parts 6 months ago. The part is under warrenty and it's leaking again. We called to make an appointment. My husband called them 1 day ahead to reconfirm the appointment and he even took a day off for this event. The plumber is scheduled to come 8-9 am. No show. We called. They said they thought we were going to  order some parts so they cancelled our appointment without informing us!
We finally got to talk to their service manager Darren who's very rude and hang up on us. We were only asking them to honor our appointment so my husband's day off was not wasted.
They do not acknowledge their mistake. The attitude is very bad. When my husband told them he had called 1 day ahead to reconfirm the appointment. They kept asking who he talked to. IT SOUNDED IT WAS US LYING TO THEM!

Another bad plumbing company in Pleasanton.  The service manager is rude and has a big attitude problem.  The call with him was a joke and was another waste of my time.  These guys have a policy to turn the water on (after the main was shut off) themselves and verify everything.  If they don't do it themselves, there is NO warranty for their work.  Sounds good, but that forces the owner to stay with them the entire time of repair.  Not only the service was very EXPENSIVE, I was NOT HAPPY that I had to stay on the property with the tech for the entire time of service.

What added to the expensive bill was the fact that they didn't bring an 1 1/2 inch PVC pipe which they had to go back to the warehouse to get.  Give me a break.  1 to 2 inch PVC pipe should be on all plumber's truck.  If this is the way to squeeze more money out of your customers, you're doing a damn good job at it.

Every time I phone Valley Plumbing it's a disaster.  Clogged toilet, Fridge water leaking..MONSTER hair clog in the tub.....you get the idea.  Every single time I get fabulous service.  From the women on the phone to the actual plumbers who come out, it's always the best service.   They arrive when they say they are going to arrive. They've got great communication on the phone.  And the price is always reasonable.   I'm a fan!

Let's see. I moved to Pleasanton 1.5 years ago and was looking for a plumber to do some work on my home. I made an appointment to have an estimator come out to plumb and install a water conditioning system for my home. The guy never calls or shows up on the day of the appointment. Two weeks later, I get a call from a lady there asking if I was still interested in the water conditioning system. Hmmm. No! Gave them a second chance and made another appointment to plumb a gas line to my fireplace. The guy actually showed up early. After he finished surveying my property to run the gas line, I asked him to provide me a quote to run a water line from the garage to my refrigerator. My kitchen and garage are next to each other. I called two days later asking if the estimates were done and the guy bruskly replied that it would done in four more days - almost a week later. I never received a call so I called and was emailed the estimate. My mouth dropped. $2900 to run the gas line and $950 to run the water line. What is their motto? Integrity before profit. Really? I say not and I'm taking my business elsewhere. No stars!

Not certain about this one. VPHC several months back installed what is known as a 30 gallon skinny water heater in an apartment complex owned by me. The total cost was over $2400. Many years before that I personally installed a water heater in my home for about $150.00....yes, I know it was a long time ago and I did not charge myself labor. But $2400?. There has to be other plumbers who do excellent work that don't charge these exorbitant rates.

As a long-time client, I continue to be impressed.  Valley Plumbing did amazing things for me this week regarding a difficult water heater design and install.  They respond on a dime, they do what they say.   I will continue my dedication and loyalty to Valley, as they have reciprocated for decades....  I have Valley to call and to trust - that says volumes in this world today.  Sending gratitude!

Valley Plumbing came recommended from a friend and I am really glad that I hired them to fix our bathroom sink.  I was able to book for an appointment for the very next day in the AM.  Our service guy was on time,  very nice and extremely quick.  Prices were on par with others in the area and felt like we got a good value for the work we had done.  He was in and out within the hour but before he left, he even asked if there was anything else we needed done.  I would definately recommend them to others and will call them again when we have future plumbing jobs.

We just finished remodeling two full bathrooms. Our experience from the beginning was awesome.  We worked with Vickie for weeks picking out product. She knew her stuff snd helped us chose the products we needed and actually respected our budget. John who is the foreman/estimator was very professional and honest.  The contractor/technician, Namen, who actually did the work was awesome. His attention to detail was amazing. I would work with Namen on all our home improvement projects!  The glass Company,  Alcosta Doors, who installed the shower glass did an outstanding and perfect job. Every time we visited Valley Plumming,  the customer service from the team was outstanding. Thank you Valley Plumming for an outstanding job on our two new bathrooms. J&K Moody

I also need to join the integrity before profit is a joke club. A few months back I called Valley Plumbing to fix a leaky valve in my lawn sprinkler. When the plumber arrived I showed him the leakly valve, in less than 1 minute he fixed the valve -- no parts needed. He said it was a very simple fix if you knew what to look for -- fair enough. He then called in to his office to report that he was done and he asked them if he could just charge me 1/2 of the nornal rate since it literally took 1 minute of his time, I heard him arguing with them on his radio but in the end the back-office folks wouldn't give in and he was forced to charge me over $100 for 60 seconds of work -- he kept apologizing but the back-office staff wouldn't budge -- so much for integrity before profit. Had I known how easy it was to fix the problem I certainly would have done so myself, but since I called them out I think they did deserve some payment for their time, but I think they would have shown more integrity had they agreed with the plumber and maybe taken a little less profit. I've never called them since and I tell this story to all my friends in Pleasanton looking for a plumber.

I have been purchasing supplies at Valley Plumbing for many years; I would guess at least ten if not fifteen.  I am always concerned as to whether a business might blame any problems on the installer, which, in my case, is me since I do my own work.  I have purchased kitchen faucets, outdoor hose bibs, hoses, indoor supply faucets, toilet valves, and a few things I can't remember.  I have needed to return two kitchen faucet components, and a valve that did not have the correct threads. They have replaced them with no questions.  If they remember my purchase, they don't even ask for a receipt.  I have even called them during an installation to ask questions, and Stark has been more than helpful.  I will be having a valve installed soon, and I expect that to go very well.

So I am back to update my review.

After posting our candid review of our experience with Valley Plumbing the owner contacted my husband. We were moving, had a baby, etc. so it took a few weeks for us to get back to him. He called a couple times and was very professional in letting us know he was concerned with our problems and how they responded.

Normally I wouldn't do an update as I think my first reviews are correct BUT this time I am more than happy to update my review.

The owner took the time to listen to our concerns and issues and ask what he could do to make things right. To us there wasn't anything he could do after the fact, we just wanted to voice our experience with his shop.

WELL the next week we get a call from the shop telling us that our part was in!!! Not only did he order the part we were originally trying to get but they didn't bill us for it. WOW, I was impressed as I know it could not have been cheap to do this. They never asked for me to update the review and I feel that they more than deserve a 4 stars for really trying to make things right.

Thanks for really caring about your customers.

We contacted Valley Plumbing when we were on the hunt for our Sil Granite sink in the color we wanted in the timeframe we needed.

We had already placed an order with another plumbing supply place for our new toilets, a kitchen faucet and new shower heads but they advised us the sink we needed wouldn't be available when our contractor was ready for the sink install.

Our contractor recommended we call Valley Plumbing and sure enough, they were able to get the exact sink we were looking for within a few days. I placed the order over the phone and gave my credit card and contact information. When the sink arrived there a couple of days later, I received a call, dragged the husband and the CRV and loaded up the sink (new in box) in the back. We brought it home, the guys took it out of the car and as anyone who has ever done the remodeling project dance knows, the box sat for a little longer than anticipated.

We paid a little extra to get the sink so quickly, but we would do it again in a heartbeat. Although our experience at the other plumbing supply store was decent on certain levels, great on others and lame in one area, we would gladly give Valley Plumbing another look.

I cannot review about their actual plumbing services, just about their show room which is not fancy, but the service was fantastic.

Called Valley Plumbing about my water heater leakage and they came the same day to replace it.  The price they quoted was the price they charged me.  To quell my concern about being overcharged the company even sent a plumber to check out the problem.  I called another place for a price quote and it would've cost me over $200 more.  I was very happy with the service.  If I have another plumbing problem I would definitely go back here.

I stand by my review.  In response to Mike C?
It was a FULL bathroom remodel in 2008, sink, counter, tub, flooring.
The errors were in the estimating after the fact.
VP came out ONCE to address A concern w/the blu-nose drawer(s)
The latest issue of the faulty countertop?  BOTH items had rubber bases.  Pictures didn't show the true discoloration.  Instead of responding?  Dead silence, nevermore...I rest my case.

We had previously been customers of Valley Plumbing and had been pleased with the service and work they had done.  Last week we discovered a water leak in a pipe in our garage.  It was spewing water and we were unable to turn it off.  We called Valley Plumbing and were told that they could come next week - six days from our discovery!  We explained that it was an emergency - that we could not have the water in the garage for that period of time.  We were told that the schedules had been set for the day and that next week was the soonest we could expect them.  Needless to say, this was completely unacceptable.  We called another company and they were able to come out that day.  In the meantime, a neighbor assisted us in shutting off the water.  We will not be using Valley Plumbing in the future.  The new company we used is outstanding with service and advice!

We won't be using this company again.  We found them on Angie's List and this is the first and only out of four companies I have found/used on Angie's List that I have not rated with an A grade.

We called this company to fix a serious leak in our front yard as well as to fix our backed up drains--two problems we thought might be related.  At a $135/hour rate, and with an A rating on Angie's List, we expected a high quality job and a high level of professionalism.  We were told that roots were blocking our pipes and at least two out of a five hour job was spent snaking out our drains.   The problem appeared to be resolved, until four days later, when our drains were backed up worse than before.  We naturally called the company back to try to get somebody to come back out and re-diagnose the problem.  Doesn't it seem plausible that hours were spent fixing the wrong problem and that maybe their plumbers missed something and did the wrong job?  We were told we would be charged at the regular rate for additional work, and that the invoice clearly states there are no warranties on blockages.

This was obviously very disappointing treatment.  To be charged top dollar only to be told that they would not guarantee their work AT ALL seems like terrible business.  What's worse is that we were never told ahead of time that there would be no guarantee on the work they did on our drains.  I would have liked to have known this before hiring this company at all and certainly before allowing the work to proceed.

The technician did stop prior to performing some of the repair work and let me know that it was going to be expensive and to make sure I knew how much they were billing per hour.  It seems like this company just cares about getting paid--not about good customer service.

UPDATE:  I received a callback from the company after posting this review. The company refunded me $260 but also asked me aggressively through two follow-up calls to change my review to reflect a favorable outcome.  Still so disappointing  Companies should take responsibility for their mistakes because it is the right thing to do--not because they want a public pat on the back and a better review.  Sorry, but I will NOT change my star rating on this one.

Really wish that I didn't have to write a negative review for Valley Plumbing; I was really hoping that they could be my go to plumbing company for all of our future needs.  However, I am not happy with my experience.  We needed new sinks and faucets in our kitchen and after much research I chose Valley Plumbing because of the good reviews that they received.  After the work was done, my husband and I were very happy with the sinks and faucets.  However, a few months after the install the special feature (i.e. the ability to tap the faucet on and off) of one of the faucets stopped working and our pipes started leaking when we ran the dishwasher.  I called Valley Plumbing and one of the mechanics came out.  The following two things were determined:

- The battery pack was defective for one of the faucets that they originally installed. He messed around with the faulty faucet for a while and then since we got the same faucet on two different sinks he took the battery pack from the good sink and tried it on the faucet that wasn't working. Personally, I don't think that he should have messed with the good sink.
- The connection for the dishwasher was not connected appropriately, which was why it was leaking. He immediately said, we aren't the ones that did this work, are we? And I said that they did in fact do the install. Ultimately, he realized that he was the one that did the initial install! In fairness to Valley Plumbing it was not leaking when the install first happened; however, it couldn't have been connected tightly enough for it to already be leaking just a few months after the install. I asked him about how to pull the dishwasher out because I wanted to ensure that there was no mold behind it as a result of the leak. He then noted that the dishwasher connection probably came apart because we were trying to pull the dishwasher out. This was completely false and I did not appreciate the accusation, as we never actually pulled the dishwasher out. It seemed to me that he was trying to place blame on the faulty connection work that he did.

All of this work took an hour and then I received the surprising news that I had to pay $134 as a result of him having to come out and diagnose the problem (including time spent taking apart my good sink faucet)! I expressed my dissatisfaction with this as I just paid Valley Plumbing thousands of dollars for 2 new sinks and 2 new faucets and now I have to pay for their failure to connect a part correctly and for a defective product. He simply said that I had to pay for labor. I asked if I was going to have to pay more when he came back to install the part, since he didn't have the new part with him and he said he would have to check with his manager.  He came back to install the new part today and I had to pay an additional $34, so obviously he never checked with his manager.  I didn't even say anything to him this time about having to pay the additional money since it seems like a lost cause.

I just don't agree with this business model. This is bad customer service to make me pay an additional $168 for this. I could have been a customer for life, but because they did not do the right thing in my opinion I will not be using Valley Plumbing again nor will I refer them to my friends.  Hope you all have a better experience than I did. I will say that we are happy with our sinks and faucets (now that they are both working correctly) and Valley Plumbing did show up when they said they would throughout the process. This is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1.

I came home one evening to find water leaking in my front lawn and figured out that this was bad, especially with the drought going on.   Figuring I needed to take care of this quickly before any water nazis came knocking on my door, I called the City of Pleasanton to turn off my water.   (By the way, the Pleasanton Water Dept gets 5 stars for excellent responsiveness and assistance).

The guy from the City recommended Valley Plumbing, so I gave them a call and had them come out the next afternoon.   Within 2 hours, the guy (sorry forgot his name) dug a huge hole, found the broken pipe, fixed it, and explained why the piece broke (damn home builder).

I was dreading how long it would take and the subsequent bill, but considering the enormity of the problem, they were able to take care of this quickly and at a reasonable cost.   I plan on replacing the plumber that I was previously using with Valley Plumbing.

Yesterday, the main water line to my house broke and I needed a new shutoff valve washer.  I was doing this repair myself and arrived at Valley Plumbing at 5:15pm (15 minutes after their closing time), The store was closed and locked, however an employee in the side warehouse assisted me.  He found the right part and it worked fine.  I am very pleased that this employee spent 15 minutes with me, after their closing time, to find a part worth a few cents.  A+ to Valley Plumbing for excellent customer service.

Last week on a Friday, my wife called Valley Plumbing for a leak we had in our garage. They explained that due to the time in the late PM, they would have to charge us an Over Time rate. We decided to schedule them for Monday AM at straight time.
On Friday after work, I stopped the leak. We were all good, but forgot to call Valley Plumbing off for Monday. On schedule they showed up Monday AM. My wife explained the situation, and they left, and did not charge us any mobilization fee. I appreciate that. They could have charged us something for our error.

I own a rental condo located in Dublin and the Homeowners Association had called Valley Plumbing to come out on 12/15 to resolve a recurring issue with 2 condos on the same floor as mine.  My tenant reported that she heard Valley Plumbing snaking or cabling the plumbing line and within minutes the kitchen sink in my condo filled up with dirty water.  The clog issue continued later that evening where it overflowed onto the laminate flooring and caused damage to the floor and cabinets.  When I contacted Valley Plumbing to research what damage they had caused they were very defensive, saying that their work did not push the clog into my unit from shared plumbing lines.  The service manager was extremely rude/unprofessional and refused to let me speak with his supervisor.  Reportedly, the technician that did the work was suddenly sick and out of the office for a week.  The service manager said that he could come out to verify what caused the clog but I would have to pay him!  I caution you -- Do not trust a company that doesn't back their work and treats individuals with disrespect.  If I had a choice in choosing a plumber it would not be Valley Plumbing.

When you find a good plumbing team, stick with them. Very responsive and helpful. Our toilet downstairs was having issues for a while. They came and did a kit repair. When it didn't stick for more than a couple of weeks, they sent someone to take a deeper look for repair and didn't charge for the labor. When that repair didn't last for more than a couple weeks (the toilet is just old), I called for a new toilet and the next day it was brought over, installed, and up and working. Their plumbers are really kind and professional. Thanks, team.

Valley Plumbing is outstanding!!  They care more about providing quality service over making a buck. Dave, who works in the showroom is fantastic. Helped me troubleshoot a recent problem. Burst/Leaky kitchen sink pipe with water flowing out onto kitchen floor.

When I called Valley plumbing, it was to have somebody come out and fix immediately. They mentioned, they will call back and let us know, few min later, got the call that plumber Kirk was on the way.

He fixed the leaky sink, replaced the faucet with a newer one, cleaned up the kitchen, we had blankets on the floor to soak up the water, he put it in dish washer started it, dried the kitchen and left it clean.

I thought rates are high, especially overtime starting at 4.30 pm, but very happy with the work. Good Job.

Friday morning we had discovered the main drain was backed up.  I called three places. Two were answering machines and the third was Valley Plumbing.  I explained my situation and she said she would fit us in the schedule for the day.  She explained the pricing and hours that were regular and when it was time and a half.   I could not be home during the times they gave me. I asked if they could clear the drain at the clean out and I give them a card over the phone.  She said no problem.  Then I looked on Yelp and and saw the first 4 reviews were not very complimentary.  So I called and asked them about it.  They say that they have responded to the negative and just sometimes people are just not happy.  I decided to go ahead and keep the appointment.  I am so glad I did. Darin came out and got right to work.  He explained the possible causes and some preventative things we could do for the future.  He answered all our questions and price was extremely reasonable.  I was so happy to have kept the appointment.  I have posted on my facebook that if anyone ever has plumbing issues, give Valley Plumbing a call.   They are honest, dependable and will make sure the job is done right.  Thank you again for helping us.  You will always be our #1 choice.

This is the second time we bought bathroom fixtures from Valley Plumbing.  I went in and selected what I thought would look good in our second bathroom. Cindy spent hours helping me select all the fixtures and Mike explained the new laws regarding fixtures in drought plagued California.
Turns out I should have consulted with my better half first. Cindy had to redo most of the order and did so without hesitation.  The fixture quality is far and away better than what we have been able to find elsewhere.  I will be going back for the kitchen fixtures too. Great local small business!!!

Let me first say that I'm only giving 4 stars because I wasn't the actual customer, but their customer service was great!

Early in May I received a call from a gal (I'm sorry I can't remember her name, but she was really nice) from Valley Plumbing stating that my neighbor below me was complaining of a leak and they needed to send someone out to check my unit since I'm directly above him. I explained my work schedule to her and she said she would do her best to make sure I was the first stop the next morning. Sure enough, I got a visit from a plumber (Mark, I believe) early that morning. He thoroughly explained the situation and what he needed access to and sure enough, I was out the door for work on time. Shortly after I got there, I received a call from the same gal stating that he would need to come back the next day due to difficulties trying to locate the leak. Long story short, Mark was back the next morning and again explained the situation. Unfortunately for me, it was going to take longer and I had to get to work. Because I know my neighbor can be difficult and I didn't want to make his job harder than it needed to be, I told Mark I would give him my spare key on the promise that he would be mindful of my 2 cats and make sure they don't sneak out which he respectfully did and left my key exactly where he said he would. I can only assume all got taken care of since I've heard nothing since, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Valley Plumbing for being prompt and courteous! And a big thank you to Mark for his professionalism and doing what he could to not inconvenience me or my time.

There are better options in downtown Pleasanton. The guys who do the best work are always booked out on long term jobs.  The others are hit and miss at best.  We just asked them to replace two bathroom faucets. It took the guy who we've never used before over 1 1/2 hours to replace the first faucet then on the second faucet while trying to clean the space under the old faucet he mistakenly scratched the stone counter. Upon scratching the stone counter he stops all work, apologizes for his mistake and hands me a bill for 1.75 hours + materials and says someone will have to come out the next day to polish the stone before he can compete the install. I write the check and he leaves.  Next day comes and no phone call. Meantime the house starts to stink because he left the pipes wide open.  So I call and leave a message with their office worker. She tells me she'll put a note on the supervisors desk and someone will get back to me.  A second day passes, still no phone call from the supervisor. So I call Valley Plumbing again and she says the supervisor will call me right back.  Two hours later supervisor calls and says the soonest someone can come out to polish the counter is the following week. I tell them you got to be kidding.   Next day I get a call and the supervisor says the owner will come out that day and polish the counter  at 1PM and complete the install.  I agree and rush home to get there by 1pm but the owner shows up half an hour late.  He then can't finish the job before I have to leave to pick up the kids and agrees to come back the next day.  Next day  he comes back  to complete the job but spends a lot of time on his cell phone talking with his people and having other plumbers come up to the house for what I don't know ... but nothing to do with our situation.  So finally, he completes the job. I'm happy that it's done, but all that disappears when the owner hands me a bill for his time in addition to what we already paid with no apology or compensation for the trouble. Good luck.

I have been to Valley Plumbing several times to inquire about shower, bathroom, kitchen fixtures and a Blanco composite sink for our remodeling project. The staff has been very patient with my questions. David was very helpful and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service. We highly recommend this local business

My realtor recommended Valley Plumbing, but before calling I checked out their reviews on Yelp.  I was very impressed that each of the dissatisfied customer comments received a follow-up by Mike to rectify the problem.  That more than anything convinced me to schedule a visit.  Mark responded to the call and made three separate repairs on a leak under the sink, a faulty drain lever and numerous leaks in the shower head and hand held assembly. . .and he did it all inside of an hour. I was very impressed with his pride in workmanship and representation of his company, along with providing excellent customer service. I'm a tough customer and Valley Plumbing earned their 5 star rating. I will call them again.

HIGHLY OVERPRICED!!!. We had a clogged kitchen sink. The plumber came on a Saturday morning. He worked for a mere 20 minutes and charged us $200.00 FOR SERVICE ONLY (no parts). We felt completely ripped.

Service we can trust. Professional, informative, courteous. Most of all, though, it feels like a family owned business when it comes to making appointments and stuff, but the plumbers that work for this company are the best and most competent we have had in the 26 years we have lived here.

The Plumbers I have used here have always been great. Not so with the office. I ordered and payed for two sinks and a custom counter 7 weeks ago. I got one call in all that time to tell me the company messed up the counter and Stark really didn't know what was going to happen. And, didn't seem to care. If we had not called in 3 weeks into it I don't think he would have called, ever. We went down to Valley Plumbing about 5 weeks into it, and we were told they put us first on the list. That was 2 weeks ago, haven't heard anything since. I have never been treated so badly by a business.

Today, Ariana came and replaced our faucet at warp speed. She was extremely professional and competent. We had another plumber in earlier this week who told us replacing the faucet in such a difficult location would be very expensive and advocated for replacing our old vanity, which would mean opening the wall. They, Barnett Plumbing, tried to pressure me into opening the wall right there for $320 to see what is going on. Then they would be able to give me a quote for future work. That pressure put me off and I am glad I went back to Valley Plumbing. Only reason I did not use them right away was because they were so busy.

Their motto is Integrity Before Profit and they love to recite it to you while you're in the store and give you a little spiel about how honest they are. We had THE WORST experience with this business, and Integrity Before Profit couldn't be further from the truth. The salesperson was so nice and sweet before the sale, and once the sale was complete, customer service was a nightmare. The installation cost came out to way more than was estimated. The quality of work was poor and required repeated follow-up visits. We found another plumber through Yelp and couldn't be happier with them. Lesson learned -- check Yelp first!!

I had the need to replace an old shower handle that had broken off. Checked everywhere (box stores) but no luck. I drove off to VPHC and they immediately started to assist with suggestions and options for a replacement. They looked for the closest model and color and got me what I wanted with reusing some of the color /parts from the old handle. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and got my job done. I am very appreciative of the entire process from the first call in to the pickup of the part. Will definitely be back for other plumbing needs.

Valley Plumbing gave us great fast service and made our day in our most recent work with them. Today's service call was to replace a broken kitchen faucet. They were there within 1/2 hour of our call (yep, we got lucky) and Steve, our plumber, went right to work and finished the job in an hour. I looked hard at doing the work myself, but when I came to the conclusion that I would have to remove the sink to get to the faucet, I got a bit smarter than usual and called Valley first. We have had Valley do some serious bathroom repair and remodeling work for us recently too. They have been excellent. Highly skilled and very efficient.

Generally people write reviews immediately after the job is done and what we do not know is what's coming 6 months/ 1 year out.
I engaged Valley Plumbing after talking to my neighbors and all the good stuff they have to say about them. The project was about replacing Bathroom Sink stopper. It was all done on time and as per his advise. One year on, IT IS ALL RUSTED, LEAKING AND ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN.
Other bathrooms Sink Stoppers (15 years old) still shining like new.
I will not chose them ever again. What a waste of time and money.

Big job, little job, Valley Plumbing is there to help you.  I have had them to my home, on at least 3 occasions, and every time they did a great job, and arrived on time.  They also saved our homeowners association at least $2000.00 by drilling under the concrete on the pool deck. in an emergency to run new electrical conduit, whereas another contractors was going to dig the pool deck up and then relay new concrete.

We recently had some problems with our business sink draining slowly! The property manager contacted Valley Plumbing and advised me that they would show up in the afternoon. We got a call, that I really appreciated, advising us that they were running a little late and would be more than willing to still come out if we were still going to be around and ok with staying past business hours, or they could reschedule for the next day. STEVE arrived around 3:45 and dug right in to our problem. He is a great extension of Valley Plumbing and was positive the whole 4 hours he was here!!! He checked, double checked, even triple checked everything, CLEANED UP and even Removed the Trash, before leaving. We will definitely use Valley Plumbing for our future projects!!!

Called Valley Plumbing to replace some old faucets that feed our washer (Sears wouldn't install our new washer because of old faucets - no stars for them).

Had to wait a week for an appointment but it's a busy time.

Namen arrived nice and early and got straight to work. When we told him we just bought the house, he showed us how to turn off the water and gas and was generally very helpful and nice. He tested out the washer, which worked fine.

Very happy.

They claim Integrity Before Profit actually it's totally opposite. Profit Before Integrity. If there was an option to give -ve star I would give them -5. It has all been very painful and expansive experience dealing with them and there are lot of better plumbers and plumbing companies in our area. Try to avoid Valley plumbing they don't have a soul and just want to take advantage of people.

End of Dec. 2022 our shower water won't stop so we had to call a plumber in an emergency and whoever we called he came within 20 mins. (God bless him) and he stopped the water but said since we have Grohe and they are tricky to open and he doesn't want to break anything he suggested calling somebody who has experience with Grohe so I called Valley plumbing and sent them pictures and explained everything and asked if they have someone experienced in Grohe and they said absolutely and I scheduled the appointment. They charge $200/hour. Their technician showed up and established that we need to order new cartridge and he would have to come back once it arrives. Even after establishing that there will be another visit it seemed like he wanted to finish his hour because he voice recorded so many things and took tons of pictures and then typed up so many things while his hourly clock is running. Then he went around the house putting their advertisement sticker on all of our appliances saying he get $5/ appliances and he finished his hour and charged me $200. After he left I called the company and  mentioned all these and asked to not charge me full hour when he comes back with the part because whatever he did was so unnecessary. Now once the part came he came again and this guy is so interested in finishing the hour that he comes and rings the door bell then and starts his clock then goes back to his van to get his stuff. Within first 15 minutes he changed the cartridge and shoed us water flowing but he decided not to end it there. He opened the whole thing again went back to his car saying he wants to set the temperature right. He put everything back and then called me and ask if white plastic ring was outside before? My 12 year old can tell you that it was such a big ring that it should not be outside. So he opened everything up again and put the ring inside and then put everything back. His clock was showing 50 minutes by now and he wanted to charge me another $200 for the hour and $97 for the part (which is $35 on Amazon) I asked to call the office and speak with the manager /owner and he said it is what it is. We won't charge you for full hour this time but will have to charge you for 45 minutes and ended up charging me another $150 for the labor. It was Xmas time and I was so frustrated but decided to just think of it as my good deed before the end of the year and forget about it. Now less than 4 month later that shower head is leaking when it's turned off and I called them to ask about warranty they are saying part has 1 year warranty but labor warranty is only 30 days and they will charge me $50 every 15 minutes (after 2 experiences  and $453 I know it's going to be another $200) so I decided to write this long review to warn other people.

YAY for Valley Plumbing!!!  We had an issue with our front water valve leaking in front of our house and Steve G fixed it right up in no time.  He was so polite and courteous and VERY efficient-love that.  And another great thing is there was no charge since it was not fixed properly the first time by another gentleman who is no longer working there.  I was so impressed that even though we called after our warranty had ended that they still not charge us.  Job well done Valley Plumbing we will definitely be calling you again for all our plumbing needs:-)

$1000 to install 3 faucet sets in 2 bathrooms. WOW!

And that's not including the cost of the fixtures, plus 2 of the 3 bathrooms had modern angle valves and hoses. VERY slow moving, took 2 guys 2 weeks to complete. One way to pad the labor bill seems to be writing very long winded, muti-page reports of what was done. (Do you really think we don't notice that?) I thought the work was Ok, but the home inspector faulted the cracked drain pipe connector of one of them on the report. Last time I tried them, in 2012, I was not happy with the charges either, but it has gotten way worse. I got the sense from what one said, that maybe I was being punished for not buying the fixtures from their Home Center somehow. I guess that's the new idea business model, sell remodels not plumbing. Get a fixed bid on anything these people do.

Mike and his staff are complete professionals and I would never hesitate to call for his services in the future.  Being a General Mgr of a company I have used his services for all of our needs.  Back in early 2006, one of my forklift drivers hit a water main in the warehouse and I am not kidding, a very large amount of water came crashing in. I called Mike and a technician was at our office in less that 20 minutes and repaired the job.  I would call Mike and his staff first prior to contacting anyone else due to the level of knowledge and dedication they take in their craft.

One day, I was shopping around for a kitchen sink and decided to go in to to Valley Plumbing. I needed to go to the bathroom so bad that I asked if I could use their bathroom. The two ladies in the front desk were telling me were it was at and an ogre mean man said in a rude tone of voice SORRY YOU CAN'T USE IT. He did not even say hi or what can I help you with or sorry it's not for customer use. The two ladies working kind of just look at each other and did not say anything. That was just the rudest experience I have ever experience. I will never recommend this business to anyone or will I ever use their services.

You can't really find fault with their work. They are pro and they do good work every single time.  They charge $134 an hour of labor and they charge an hour minimum. While the rate itself is not outrageous, the one hour minimum kills the deal when you have minor plumbing needs. My hose bib is leaking, how much does it cost replace ? $134. But if you have bigger jobs that genuinely take an hour or more, the cost is justified.

You can always get things done for cheaper if you can find a handyman but no guarantee that the handyman will stand by their work. And of course, handyman won't carry insurance or license.

I have used Valley Plumbing on several occasions and wanted to trust them based on their good reviews on Yelp and Angie's List, but have now had multiple instances where their plumbers are either incorrect about solutions to my plumbing needs or lying to make more money and felt the need to speak up.

First, I had a Moen bathtub fixture break.  A Valley Plumbing plumber came and said that if their parts guy couldn't find the part, the solution would be a 6+ hour project where they would have to open up my bathtub because our bathtub had old Moen valves from the 1990s and Moen doesn't make fixtures for them anymore.  I had a phone call with their parts guy and he said he couldn't get me the part.  I was going to use Valley Plumbing for this project that was going to cost hundreds of dollars but then a different plumber from Valley Plumbing came for a different plumbing need, looked at our tub, and said to take a picture and call Moen for the part.  We did that and Moen had the fixture and was able to ship it to us in a few days and we were able to screw it on ourselves, making it a $50 solution to buy a part from Moen as opposed to the hundreds of dollars it would have cost to open up our tub and change the valves and fixtures per Valley Plumbing's original recommendation.

I would have let that instance go but then just had another incident that prompted this review.  We had a leaking toilet and had Valley Plumbing come out.  The plumber said he couldn't see the brand of the toilet anywhere and therefore couldn't replace any parts and the toilet was on its last leg so we should go buy and install a new toilet.  We were planning on marching down that path per his recommendation but then had a plumber from a different company look at it and in two minutes identified it as a Mayfair toilet and replace the float and fix our toilet within a few minutes.

I don't know if these issues are caused by plumbers with lack of experience or they're trying to upsell more expensive services to make more money, but after multiple issues with different plumbers and wasting money having them come out and not solve my problems and after giving them multiple chances, I don't trust them anymore.

We have used Valley Plumbing for over 20 years. They are honest and reliable. Last week I had a hot water heater problem. When I called for a tech to come out, the schedule was full for 2 days. I knew they are a busy company so I took the appointment and knew we'd be having cold showers for a few days.
To my surprise, they called back within an hour and they had made a tech available to me for that afternoon! I was thrilled that they made that effort for me. The repairman, Mark, was very pleasant and did excellent work. He replaced a valve on the heater rather than telling me I needed a brand new heater, which I had expected.
I can't compare prices with other plumbing companies, because I never call anyone else. They replaced all of my old water pipes ten years ago and they were amazing. The workmen spent two days under my house in that small crawl space that our 1970 house has, and they were cheerful and competent! Great company!

I have used Valley Plumbing about 5 times, but just getting around to a review.  I have found them very honest in their estimates, are consistent with high quality work, and the one time they didn't get it right, they made it right without discussion (the sign of a great business philosophy).

My most recent example.  I had a cold water pipe burst under my floor board.  Valley Plumbing couldn't get me on their schedule for almost 2 week (the sign of a quality business.... I don't know why another reviewer dinged them for that), so I had to use Roto Rooter after calling all the local businesses.  Roto Rooter wanted $5,000 to fix the problem, after I paid them $565 to diagnose the problem.  Luckily, I knew to run Roto Rooter off my property (they thought I was a whale who never got my hands dirty in my life).   So we took showers at neighbors for a while waiting for Valley Plumbing.  57 minutes after Valley Plumbing arrived, my water was back on.  For $440, I had the problem fixed, parts, and had them do a few other things that took a total of 2 hours.  All the staff are nice, clean up their mess, and one time they didn't even charged me for the visit (determined it was a problem with my gas meter and not my hot water tank).  Valley Plumbing is the way to go!

GREAT JOB VALLEY PLUMBING! I finally found a plumber with integrity. Their slogan is Integrity before Profit, and they mean it. This is my fourth plumber over the past few years, and I was tired of being overcharged for very basic plumbing projects. This time we had a bigger project, a leaking drain under the house. It required removing and replacing a section of the drain line in a very tight crawl space. Zach was the technician and HE WAS GREAT! What a nice guy, super helpful, never complained, answered all my questions and got the job done in under the amount of time estimated. I also asked him to replace the cartridge in the shower after, and again he quickly got that project done as well. Our home is older and will require plenty of plumbing work over the next few years, I plan to call on Valley from this point forward. Keep up the great work and you definitely earned your 5 stars today! I plan to refer you to family and friends!

It's amazing what a small amount of personal outreach and proactive customer support can do to sooth the frazzled nerves of the clientele.  (ahem...take note Cisco!)

Most business can't comprehend that just acknowledging minor mistakes and operating procedures only helps the company in the long run to avoid future mishaps and similar situations.  To know that they take small matters like a slighly snarky Yelp review seriously enough to make that outreach shows you that no job and no customer is too small to take for granted.

It's good to know that I'm not a completely inept weekend plumber and that I should have tried to fix the damn thing myself but for all future water related issues, Valley gets the call.

Thanks Mike!

Thank you Valley Plumbing for coming to our rescue! A late call on a Wednesday night to fix our leaking toilet! We turned the water off in the house and called them at 9:30pm. They did just that, called bright and early the next morning sent someone out who fixed the toilet and the price was extremely reasonable! We needed to replace a part in our shower and I called Valley to see if they had the part for our Kohler shower. They said to bring it in and they would help me find it. I took it in and they had just the part I needed there in stock! The gentleman in the office, Stark, walked me thru the removal process and explained it very thoroughly. He even said if we had questions when we were repairing, that we could give him a call and he would be glad to help. I am sorry, but I haven't found this kind of courteousness in a very long time!

We had problems with our garbage disposal, and a family member recommended we contact Valley Plumbing. We used Yelp to reach out on the project. They responded very quickly and had me call them directly.

Upon calling and describing the issue, they gave a couple likely scenarios from repair to replacement. They were clear on all costs and timelines. Was able to schedule an appointment for the next day mid-morning.

Upon arrival, Joe came in and looked at the garbage disposal and said it needed replacement. It was 20 years old and all rusted inside. He got a new one from his truck, which was the same model as our original, but a new version of it, and quickly removed the old one and installed the new one.

No leaks whatsoever and we now have a new garbage disposal.

Great service from initial contact to completion of project!

Valley Plumbing in Pleasanton is horrible. I'm giving them one star because that's the only way to write a review. They don't deserve any! They will only schedule a four hour window. My window was 12:00 - 4:00, and I took a half day of vacation leave off work. The plumber showed up at 5:00 and informed me that the only way he could do the work was on OT. I phoned the office in Pleasanton and she told me the same thing. Their regular rate is high at $140/hr, but the OT rate is ridiculous at $205/hr. They wanted to charge me over $600 to install two faucets and it was their fault that they did not show up during the window they scheduled! REALLY BAD BUSINESS AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Mark from Valley Plumbing came to fix a toilet and the dishwasher line that was stopped up.  He was friendly, professional and had both tasks done within an hour, plus fixed both new toilet seats which I had installed incorrectly.  He also explained in detail several questions I had about installing a clean-out and running a camera into the sewer line. Very pleased!

Valley Plumbing also installed our new water heater a few months ago, and the reasonable price and great service are why we called them back today.  They will be our go-to plumber from now on!

We have used Valley Plumbing for years since we live in Pleasanton and like to support our local businesses. When I had a problem with my water heater, they came out the same day, fixed the problem and were done very quickly. They also warned me that since my water heater was very old that it may give me problems in the future and that I should look into replacing it. Well I developed a leak a few months later, on a Saturday, gave them a call and told them it was probably time to replace it. When they came out, they showed me that a seal in the supply line had loosened. They tightened it and were gone in 20 minutes. A lot of companies could have screwed me into a new water heater but these guys not only didn't but they fixed the problem with no charge. I don't know what happened to the other reviewer but if you want competent plumbers that won't take advantage of you, I HIGHLY recommend them.

This is the second time Valley Plumbing came out to fix some issues for us.  The first time Namen (one of their plumbers) came out and:

- Installed our gas dryer
- Fixed dishwasher (by simply turning a water valve under our sink)
- Jiggled garbage disposal and pressed button to get back on
- Measured our water pressure

He educated us on this basic stuff and also was efficient with the time (not stretching out the job).

Second time Namen came out for a more serious job.  We had a major blockage, and Namen brought out a 75-foot heavy duty motorized snake, removed our upstairs toilet, and snaked the line about ten times -- ultimately pulling out gobs of debris from our line and fixing the blockage.  Very gross, and Namen did a great job (he even cleaned up).

We had a toilet and two faucets replaced. The plumber was very thorough and polite. The work is guaranteed and was done well. He took 6 hours to complete the job which really took us by surprise. I did call to discuss this and the manager was willing to negotiate an hour and a half off, and sent a check to me.

Overall, I am happy with the service and fact that they valued the customer enough to make this concession. I've dealt with other companies who would never budge on a job already paid for. Well done Valley Plumbing!

Called to fix a leaking faucet in a shower that was growing worse by the day.  Got an appointment on a thursday after calling in on tuesday.

Quoted $135 for service call + any parts and additional labor over an hour

Gentleman shows up and take a look at the fixture (I had taken a guess as to the model as I was at the office at the time I made the appointment) and immediately knew what the issue was but did not have the parts.  Called the order in and was done in 10 minutes total.

Instead of charging me the hour....he said he could fix it in 30 minutes when he got the part and pro-rated the minimum to be only $45 for first visit.....

Showed back up the  next day and finished in under 30 minutes and charged me the remainder of the original $135 minimum + parts.

Could have easily charged me for two one hour minimum visits but did not.

Did a great job on the repair.

Would highly recommend and call these folks again.

Good customer service and followed up two weeks later with a thank you card and a discount certificate for the next time I need service.

Class operation guys and gal!

I spent more than $1330 with them just to identify my water leak is on main line ! They want additional $5100 to replace about 45 feet of main water line. I thought these guys can identify the main line leak and do spot repair. But finally they also want to do the replacement as previous plumbers suggested, who want to replace mainline.I fired them after hearing their $5100 quote just for replacing 45 feet main water line.

Hired another plumber from Thumbtack to replace the mainline for $3200. These guys are too expensive for the amount of work they do. Better hire a well reviewed plumber from Thumbtack app, where you can get the things done with less than 50% of what these guys want to charge.

I thought valley plumbing guy is kidding me when they dig less than 2 feet in 4 hours and asking my permission to continue to dig all the 45 feet and bill the hours ! At that rate it will be 45 * $400/feet = $18000 to dig 45 feet along water line. Incredible ! The person came for work took more than an hour rest in his van but billed that time too. I was already fed up with their fleecing, and do not have patience to argue over $200, I wrote the check and got rid of them.

These guys are great.  Very professional.  Neat and clean.  They know what they are doing, they get the job done, they leave without leaving behind a mess, and their prices are reasonable.  We had a toilet that kept stopping up.  They came in, unclogged it, and made a few recommendations on how to keep that from happening again.  I highly recommend them.

They are very easy to work with and always friendly.  We only have one toilet in our office of all women and when we have a problem they were able to fit us in.  Their rates are really reasonable.  Mike and Sharol are the greatest.

It is rare to find such personal and professional service like we experienced with Valley Plumbing. Sherol coordinated the project and ordering process with such ease and detail. Christian and Manny completed a beautiful bathroom remodel at our home and we couldn't be happier with the result. They went out of their way to offer helpful suggestions, the work was impeccable and thorough. We enjoyed their personable professionalism too. We are local Pleasanton residents so we were also happy to support a local business. If you are looking for help with your bathroom remodel, please visit Valley Plumbing.

This company did a very poor job of performing an inspection of a plumbing issue for a house inspection.  Rather a thorough analysis of the problem, they simply did a cursory review and provided a vague description of their inspection on an invoice.  They were also not responsive to follow-up calls.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Mike and his crew at Valley Plumbing for helping my elderly parents by replacing their bath and shower fixtures based on their vision of what they wanted. When the vision wasn't quite what they had envisioned, I had to step in and call Mike. Mike understood the mix-up and was more than willing to help make it right, and at a price point that was very generous. Thank you for helping my elderly parents, and mostly for helping my Mom to be able to take a shower on her own without help. Priceless.

Had a bathroom faucet that needed replacing, so went to Valley Plumbing showroom, picked one out, and found out we couldn't get our old faucet removed by ourselves.  Scheduled a Valley plumber to come out to replace the faucet the following week.  Had the 12noon to 4pm time slot and Brian arrived around 1 pm.  Very nice, courteous, and professional.  Of course, nothing is as straightforward as replacing one thing.  Brian had to replace a lot of old parts but he did a great job.  Took the entire time, not because he worked slowly, but because of all the work needed.  He explained what needed to be done and what he recommended.
I'm very happy with the result!  I'm happy to pay for the great service that Brian provided.  This was my first time dealing with Valley Plumbing but I would recommend them to anyone.

Moved to Pleasanton 2 years ago.  Had Valley come out to service tankless system since their sticker was on the unit.  They had serviced it before.  Took forever for them to do it.  Then they installed recirculator.  One year later it doesn't work but is out of warranty.  They fix it.  Now 4 months later not working.  UGH.  Their prices are high and they take a long time for repairs. I've spend a small fortune with them for something that doesn't work so well.  Their plumber, though nice, seems not so experience and works very very very slow.

I would recommend getting multiple bids before having Valley Plumbing do work for you.  We went in looking for a new pedestal sink and faucet for our powder room.  They suggested that they come out and take some measurements so we would know what size sink we could get and then do a free estimate for us - which is a good idea.  However, when the estimate came and we did the math to separate out the allowances for materials, the labor was going to be $1400 to take out one pedestal sink and put in another one in the same location - no tile, no drywall, nothing.  My husband and I are reasonably handy so we decided to give it a try ourselves (it's not exactly rocket science) and even with our inexperience we did the whole job in about 5 hours.  An experienced plumber probably could have done it in 4 (or less).  So that averages out to about $350 dollars per hour. They were nice enough, but seems a little steep for a plumber.

Careful of anyone who has to use as their logo Integrity before Profit, furtherest thing from the truth in my opinion.  Did not stand behind their work!!!

We had a pipe burst under the kitchen sink and Valley Plumbing was able to fit us in the same day to complete the repair and limit the loss of our kitchen.  Mark came out on time and got to work quickly.  He was professional and polite and timely.  Thanks Mark and Valley Plumbing!

What does it mean when you know your plumber by name? It means that we have had 6 or more plumbing repairs/replacements over the past few years, and that each time we never hesitate to call Valley Plumbing.  Darin and other members of the team are the best!  They are always up front and knowledgeable, and go above and beyond what is needed to fix the problem, at very reasonable costs.  The logo on their vans - integrity before profit - really comes through each and every time!

They have helped us fix several leaks, repaired and replaced our water heater, and installed a new dishwasher with ease after the appliance guys who delivered it gave up.  Each time, they responded quickly and always surpassed our expectations.  Our house is at the point where repairs/replacements are going to be more frequent.  But we can sleep easy as we know we have Valley Plumbing to call on.  And we are supporting local which is a great plus!

Omg.. I am disappointed. It's like I spent 500 and still looking for ANOTHER vendor to fix my sprinkler leakage. They don't give estimates and charge 154 for coming and fixing. Mark came and said that we will have to call city to shut the water down and we will have to reschedule. What that mean is that we still have to pay him for 1 hour. Till this time I was fine and I can understand that it is a benefit of doubt. When he comes back again, then he spend another 1.5 hours with a bill of 328 with statements like you will have to reschedule another 1.5 hours as there is more leakage. Since day one, it is only 1 area of leakage and now I am supposed to find another company to fix same leakage.Mark response is that this leakage was covered so he didn't know. It's a joke. How come you don't know.i will not recommend. It's T& M with no scope and you keep paying and scope keeps changing.

We had a PRV installed in mid August. Mike and his crew were very friendly and shared a few useful tips/knowledge about the plumbing. Five days later, the elbow joint under the PRV leaked water. Kind of unfortunate coincidence, so I asked them if changing the PRV had to do with the leak. They said no. I thought maybe the pipe moved around too much when the trainee tried to fit in the new PRV which is different brand from the original one. Beside, it has been 10 years without no problem, but I'm not a plumber so I thought ok that's fine.
So $700 later, the leak fixed. I spent almost $1200 total for the work. To their credit, the supervisor explained things related to my water heater well and honestly. But I did have a few concerns about what the trainee did, so I emailed them about it. The reason for three star is they never replied to my email to at least acknowledge my concerns.
Also, the minimum $200 rate is a bit high for me, but acceptable. However, I wish I didn't have to pay half-hour ($100) for them to pick up a part that they didn't have in stock.
Hi Mike, if you see this review, please feel free to contact me if you like to clarify things. Thank you!

see update below :

Very disappointing.   Would have been zero stars except for the fact their service started out well.  I called them Saturday afternoon after we had a hot water pipe leak in the ceiling space above our kitchen.  I had a general idea where the problem was.  They said they had a tech who could come but only around 5pm and at weekend rate of $201 call out fee.  Expensive but so far so good - they have to make money too.  Then the tech called to say he was running late and would only be there around 6.  Still doing well.  He then called around 4:30 to say he was finished another job and could get there earlier.  Still good and great they kept us informed.

When the tech arrived he said he had to cut into the ceiling because he couldn't identify where the leak was.  Still ok as I expected it.  After he had made a couple of cuts into the ceiling and confirmed it was the hot water line, he said the line was located in a really tricky place, difficult to reach and that he couldn't complete the fix because he needed his boss to look at it and see how they were going to get access.  While he was there he called another tech, told him the issue and confirmed he would need to talk to his boss before trying to fix the line.   Given it was a Saturday, he said he would only be able to speak to his boss and have him come see the issue on Monday.  I didn't  like that but understood, even though we were left without hot water.   Well, Monday came and went without any call or communication from them at all.  Tuesday has now gone - same result.   So, they come out, locate the leak but leave us without hot water, say they will be back Monday and that is the last I have heard from them.  Customer service like this makes me vote with my feet - and go elsewhere.

UPDATE

after our initial review we gave Valley another chance when we were traveling overseas and the people sitting our dogs noticed a leak in our Kitchen faucet.  We called Valley from South Africa on January 30 and they sent someone over Asap to fix - and billed later.  The job was done well and no issues - except that they kept on sending a bill reminder even after we paid.  Finally got that sorted.

We just used them again this month to install new toilets and replace old valves.  Good experience all round.   I just made sure they didn't send the same tech who had created the original problem discussed in my first post.

We've had excellent experiences with Valley Plumbing for several jobs including whole house filtration and water treatment, zero waste reverse osmosis in our kitchen, miscellaneous kitchen and bath repairs, and urgent assistance with clogged drains. Kirk (one of the senior plumbers) is exceptional and truly detail oriented. The sales room staff are super helpful. They're a trustworthy, local, family owned company that stands beside their work. We'll keep using them for all of our plumbing needs, and you should consider doing the same. Highly recommended!
