Not only were they on time, great service, professional, and not expensive (compared to others), the personal relationship you develop with Shawn Patton the owner himself is remarkable. He was all about educating you and showing you what's going on with your current unit so that you understand why you need his service. First attempt at installation not possible due to wrong pan size and wrong width of heater for closet size.
Sales rep (Dustin) had duly noted all relevant measurements, but no internal confirmation by Patrick (manager) prior to sending a truck.
Big waste of time, plus no respect for neighbors who had water turned off in entire section of condo building.
Wrong technicians (not the crew originally promised) arrived today -- two weeks later and more or less as scheduled. No advance call as promised. No shoe covers as promised & wearing sewer boots.
Poor communication between Patrick and Nikita at office. No prior explanation about original crew having called in sick.
Multiple follow-up calls from Choate's -- apparently only responsive when the sale is suddenly on the line.
Too many issues with Choate's, especially during Coronavirus surge.
Last person I spoke with was advised to expect a bad Yelp! review from this highly vocal and disappointed previous customer.

I was on the Choate's Family Plan, but it's proved to provide very little value. The last three service visits I've had have all been negative experiences. Years ago, the company use to have really great technicians and they did a lot of great work for me, but these people have seemingly long moved on. Last summer, a tech visits my house to service a fully functional outside A/C condenser. Twenty minutes later the service tech contends the dedicated wall circuit breaker is broke and $240 later I'm buying another circuit breaker that was selling on Amazon for $40. Fast forward to the fall, the next tech services the furnace in the attic, but leaves the dirty air filter in my living room then proceeds with driving off. Fast forward again to this summer, I have a condensation drain line clog which water damaged my ceiling. Tech 1 quotes me $500 to repair the clog and charges a $200 visit fee which can be applied against the repair if I proceed with the work. I said sure let's do it. Tech 1 also said he noticed a dripping water leak with the tub facet and he quoted $1,200 for this repair. I passed on this repair option as it seemed very high. Tech 2 arrives on-site a couple days later to do the work and contends he can't snake the clog. He tells me it'll require removing the vanity in the upstairs bathroom, cutting the wall, removing an existing pipe, and installing a replacement sloping PVC drain pipe. The new quote is near $1950. I said let me get another quote first. I have a brother come over to the house to get his opinion. After inspecting the problem, he's snaked out the clog in about 30 min without cutting the wall. He's not even a plumber. I called Choates back a couple days later to have them come out for a scheduled HVAC tune up. I specifically questioned whether the 3rd tech will cleanse the condenser line. The service rep said, the line will be inspected but he didn't know if the tech would clean out the line. Tech 3 arrives and services the HVAC system. I asked him point blank after describing the recent clogged line. Tech 3 says he inspected the drain line but cleaning the line isn't part of his service. He suggested I periodically pour a cup of bleach down the line to keep it cleared. So much for hiring a qualified HVAC company to perform regularly scheduled maintenance in an effort to avoid such problems as a clogged condenser drain line.
In my personal opinion, Choates is too focused on sales growth and is compromising providing that minimal service level we all expect. I keep thinking If they had kept my condenser drain line clean as part of the normally scheduled maintenance, maybe the line would never have clogged.

Ryan & Anthony came out & verified that our leak was coming from our upstairs shower by reproducing the problem. Prior to Ryan's arrival we had already had 1 estimate & my uncle deduced that it was the shower. Arctic guys seemed very knowledgeable, patient & courteous. My only complaint is that I wasn't informed of service charge for estimate/diagnosis when I made appointment. Service charges for estimates and diagnosis are acceptable but not everyone charges for estimates. While I probably will go with another vendor, I think these guys deserve a chance. Just make sure you know that there is a service charge for estimates and what it is BEFORE they come out.

Service techs have always been great, but their sales people are the HVAC equivalent of used car salesmen. I severed all ties after after being taken for a ride for 10 years as a comfort club member. Prices are much higher than competitors' and I'd finally had enough. Buying anything from these people is time consuming, high pressure, and uncomfortable. The paper work alone is not unlike a real estate closing, and they make you pay upfront, days or weeks before they actually do any work. Do yourself a favor and call someone else.

Had new air conditioners and furnaces installed last month. Price was just ok , installation was timely and efficient. Because of the shortage of trained trades people they like many other businesses are forced to pair an apprentice with a journeyman. Several issues were corrected from the old units and the new installation only had a minor issue , corrected the next day. They kept the area clean and were careful of the house. New units performed perfectly and my electric bill went down 40 dollars in the 2 1/2 weeks the new units were going. This bill was 75.00 less. All in all a good job and I would recommend them for this kind of work. The trades all have the same problem no skilled help so if they have to use an apprentice too stay in business that is why.

Update: After fixing this problem myself, the tech that came out failed to even glue the fitting or replace the part they were supposed to. This was not a case of being restricted by the warranty company in anyway. They failed to successfully complete the task they intended.

They didnt show!! They left a voice mail, instead of letting the phone ring through. They asked me to call them back to confirm...6 tries later, someone answered oh sorry, we're across the bridge now.. we cannot come back THEY WERE NEVER HERE to do the job they contracted to do!!!

When you need good, reliable home maintenance services in a hurry, this is the outfit to call. Our A/C went out suddenly and since ours is a rental, we wanted to get it repaired quickly so the tenants would not suffer. We got the referral from our regular handyman service (Home Remedies Maintenance/Shane - another 5 star company!!!) so I knew right away that I could trust G & R - that is important... having people you can trust will not gouge you or sell you services or repairs that you do not need.

It turned out that we needed a new fan motor so he had to come back today to complete the job which he did. He called to say that he also needed to replace the fan/blades.
So, from start to finish, less than 24 hours... less in the way of cost than I had expected... and, knowing that I was dealing with honest, reliable people was the bonus that keeps on giving...
I don't need the Yellow Pages - I've found my HVAC and plumbing contractor for any such jobs that I may need in the future...

They called us horrible names. The most awful experience ever. Reported to our home warranty company and they flagged them as a hostile vendor. DO NOT USE THESE RUDE PEOPLE!!

This company is a rip off. I paid $750 for an HVAC condenser unit, and all I got was a bucket of non-working rust. Does not honor his contract or guarantees. I would never use them nor recommend them to my worst enemy.
