W H Winegar & Son Plumbing and Heating Plumbing Service
I wish I could give them no star!! The guy charges us $440.00 for a $80.00 plumbing job!!! Most of the charges was for him waiting for our building to turn water back on!!  We didn't know that the building was going to shut the water down! The main issue is that he don't told us that he was going to charge us for him waiting!!  If he had letting us know ahead of time I would have been ok!! Wouldn't use this plumbing service again!!

T L Back Plumbing Plumbing Service
I contacted them for an estimate for what appears to be a wax ring leak from my toilet upstairs. The estimate came back at $250 to $350. If you have a basic understanding of plumbing that is ridiculous.

Halethorpe, MD 21227
North River Plumbing & Gas Plumbing Service
In my opinion, this company is the reason plumbers have the worst reputation in the trade industry. I would avoid at all costs.

We had a time and materials contract and yet they refused to provide us with any time sheets or materials receipts. Instead they charged us nearly 30% over the initial estimate, which we informed them prior to the job was to high, and were told it would come down. Without any curve balls on the job, explanation or warning for the inflated costs. When we asked for explanation regarding the increased fees and asked for the time sheets and materials receipts per the contract we were told Bill is non negotiable. Pay us or we will charge additional fees and get our lawyer involved.

In my opinion and that of other plumbers I spoke with after the incident, their actions are not industry standard. I believe they stole from me, my family and my business. I suggest you run away as fast as you can and avoid getting ripped off.

In response to the company's comment. You took advantage of us, a small business. Shame on you. We tried to pay the original, over inflated quote, despite the fact that we supplied additional labor and your estimated permit fees came in $800 lower ALL prior to signing off and you refused. I believe your actions reflect those of unscrupulous thiefs.

Frank J. Klein & Sons Plumbing Service
In the past month (due to an assortment of plumbing and heating problems) I have called Frank J Klein. Each time I have been exceedingly impressed by their professionalism and expertise! This past Monday I had no heat.
Today (Thursday) I have a new boiler and Hot water heater! The boiler was the original when my house was built 60-65 years ago! When it was removed I got to see all the damage that over the years had done! My water heater was rusted top to bottom with massive damage at the base (purchased in 2008), no doubt it needed replacement.
On Tuesday much of the boiler was broken down, and removed from my house. Making the installation for the new boiler and hot water heater on Wednesday, uninterrupted and seamlessly installed! Drop clothes and a systematic  procedure went quickly and extremely efficient and skillfully done.
I will continue to use FRANK J. KLEIN, and hope you do as well!
Highly recommend this well established Baltimore business!

DJ&E Plumbing and Heating Plumbing Service
.Dave is very nice and a man of his word - The price he quoted us for a gas line install back in October was still good in February when we were finally ready to do the work.  Even with some complications with the job Dave and his crew did everything they could with a smile and on time as promised. We had to do some extra things which were out of the scope of DJ&E's responsibility and they helped us find good people to help AND helped those people to get he job done - James, Dave's employee, spent several extra hours making sure things got done correctly and that we were happy - all at no extra charge.  I would recommend Dave, James and their referral contractors to anyone needing work done.

Best Mechanical Plumbing Service
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!  You will not be disappointed.

Best mechanical lives up to their name; they really are the best.  After years of dumping money into my house and dealing with terrible contractors and plumbers, Best Mechanical has been the answer to my prayers. Here's why:

1.  This is a small, local, family owned business, which I always prefer to support.

2.  Service is FAST.  Even with the heat wave I was warned they were slammed and might have to wait a week for someone to come out, but someone made time to come in a day later.

3.  Customer service is key.  Brenda and Josh were a joy to speak with, always kept me updated on what was going on, and genuinely made me feel like they cared about what was going on at my house. Being in the military and trying to manage this property from the other side of the country is stressful, but they gave me piece of mind and I felt like they were worthy of my trust.

4.  The price.  I'm all about weighing cost vs worth.  For me, what I paid to have my AC replaced was worth every penny.  I trust best mechanical to advise me properly on the state of the unit and didn't feel they were trying to convince to buy a bunch if things I didn't need. I have gone back to them every time I needed something, from duct work to AC services and I have been 150% satisfied every time.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Suburban Maryland Plumbing Service
Let me start by saying I've never written a negative review about a business before, but I feel compelled to do so in this instance in order to warn others about this business's deceitful and unscrupulous practices.  A few weeks ago, we had a blockage in our main house line and called Mr. Rooter to unblock it.  The first visit went fine, and the blockage seemingly went away.  Three weeks later, it was blocked up again.  Fortunately, we were still under Mr. Rooter's warranty, and they snaked the drain again.  But because Mr. Rooter's camera services are handled by different people than their snaking services, there was no way to know whether the problem was truly fixed at this time.  The man who snaked the drain said that they could send someone with a camera the next day and that they would reach out to us about the specific time.  Relying on this, I took the day off of work, but I still hadn't heard anything by mid-day.  I finally decided to reach out myself, only to be told that the camera man could not come until the next day.  I therefore took yet another day off of work, which was annoying, but it was nothing in comparison to what was to come.

The next morning, the camera man ran the camera through our main line.  Even though the pipe had been snaked less than 48 hours earlier, the line was completely backed up with standing water.  When the camera got to 40 ft out, the camera man said he thought he was at the street.  Even though we hadn't been able to see what was causing the problem, he said it was clear that we would need to replace the entire line from the house to the street by digging up our yard, which would cost more than $6,000.  He then proceeded to do a very hard sell, trying to get me to agree to them starting this work the next day.  I told him we wanted to get quotes from other companies, but he continued to do the hard sell, saying that every other company would tell me the same thing and that the problem really needed to be fixed as quickly as possible.  Thank goodness I held strong, and he left.  The next day, I called several other plumbers who were all appalled at the idea that a company had recommended a complete pipe replacement when they had not even located the source of the problem.  All of the other plumbers said they would need to redo the work that Mr. Rooter had done, i.e., snake the pipe again and run a camera again until they could figure out what was actually causing the problem.  Even though this meant I would be paying another $600 for work that was already done, I decided this was better than simply agreeing to pay more than $6,000 when we didn't know what was causing the problem.

The other plumbing company sent a man out the very same day to redo Mr. Rooter's work.  The other plumber started by running a camera in the line but at 40 ft, i.e., the same place where Mr. Rooter's camera man had said he thought he had reached the street, the other plumber hit a blockage.  The other plumber then snaked the drain, made it out to 100 ft, and pulled back a huge ball of roots.  With most of the blockages removed and the water gone, the other plumber put his camera back in the line and saw that there were more roots coming into the pipe at 56 ft, just before our house line tapped into the county sewer line, and almost certainly under the street as opposed to our yard.

To summarize, Mr. Rooter's camera man seems to have intentionally misled me into thinking he had investigated the entire pipe when in fact he had to have known that he was hitting a blockage and decided rather than trying to remove this blockage and trying to discover the source of the problem, he would try to convince me to pay for an extremely expensive project that WOULDN'T HAVE EVEN SOLVED THE PROBLEM.

To make matters worse, when I called Mr. Rooter to notify them of this dishonest behavior and ask for a refund, I was told that they didn't care if their camera man lied to me; because he didn't FORCE me to agree to the full pipe replacement, they didn't think they'd done anything wrong.  That is an outrageous position for a company to take.  I therefore strongly encourage everyone not to use this company.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup Plumbing Service
Response time was good. Two other plumbers were giving next day as a response time.
Cost was ridiculous at $800 to come out and run a snake for a 90 minute job.
Usually go to Home Depot and do it myself for under $100. Circumstances at the time didn't warrant that.
Although they got the job done effectively would not use again.

Catons Plumbing and Drain Plumbing Service
Was in process of getting estimates for plumbing work when problem started while Catons was giving estimate.  Said they could take care of problem right away.  I had to do it (main water valve).  Earlier estimates came in after work done that were SUBSTANTIALLY less.  Catons had to come back to fix leak in original repair.  My caution to others is get estimates, in my case would have saved hundreds.  Felt like I was taken advantage of during bad situation.  Left numerous voice messages with Catons general manager, never heard back.  Just be cautious.

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup Plumbing Service
The process of connecting our house to the county sewer line was could have turned into a nightmare, but the hindrances and regulations
put up by WSSC were professionally and superbly handled by Roto Rooter. From beginning to end, Jay Glazer took over the project and skillfully guided the process along until Roto Rooter was ready to take over where WSSC ended theirs. Then, Don Smith and his assistant Andrew took over and finished the job.
From start to finish, Roto Rooter was in charge and kept me informed of their progress every step of the way. Their price was also very competitive. I would definitely use them again and can recommend their work. If possible, try to use this office and get the folks that helped us to much.

Abingdon, MD 21009
Valley View Handyman Services Plumbing Service
This company is a big scam. I should not have trusted Jeffrey Muncey and the owner. I paid for a project that was not completed.

Jeff  Muncey locked my property and ran away with the keys without completing the project. I had to buy a new lock and pay a locksmith for a new installation.  I paid upfront $750 to Valley View Handyman Services for nothing. They are not responding to phone calls or texts. This was a total nightmare but I'll make sure that justice will be served.

I have more details but hope this summary warns others so they can avoid similar cons.
