I am writing to commend W. H. Winegar & Son Plumbing & Heating for their outstanding plumbing service to me.

Owner Terry Winegar sent Bernard to install my new disposal today.  He arrived right on time and made a demanding under the sink job look easy.

Bernard is a pro's pro and he did an excellent job -- and in far less time than I figured.  Plus, he brought the project in under estimate!  

Folks in Montgomery County can rest assured that we have access to a great plumbing firm in our backyard.

The previous owner did renovations that looked great but when we decided we wanted a more efficient,  taller, oblong toilet for my son we were trying to install it and got stuck. Toilet installation should be easy and I was trying to teach my son. We even tried buying a couple of new tools and finally decided to call a plumber. Johnny came out. He had all the right tools. Showed my son what was wrong with the previous install. Removed that. Cleaned all the tile around the area thoroughly. Did a great job with the install and teaching my son. When I needed to replace my other toilet and kitchen faucet (which is in a tiny corner of the cabinet), I just called and they sent Johnny. He has all the right tools. It wasn't easy but he did it. You don't have to wait forever with WHW & Sons and they are competitively priced. We tried a different company to do a deep sink that I didn't have the tools for and I felt like the plumber didn't seem to know what he was doing. He wasn't young, just not good. I'm sticking with WHW from now on.

We had a leaky pipe issue and called WH Winegar. They charge ~80 to come out, and then a flat fee for additional time every quarter hour. Pretty standard. They gave me a two hour window, called when he was 20 minutes away, and showed up right on time at the earlier time, something I barely expect anymore.

Because plumbers charge by the quarter hour and not just for the job, it's pretty clutch that your plumber doesn't go on personal life monologues like our old one did. There was NO small talk. It was beautiful. The plumber came in, figured out where the issue was coming from (not where we thought), fixed it, and was ready to go. Hopefully I won't need their services any time soon, but definitely calling them if something comes up.

After putting off a range of small plumbing jobs -- from a leaky exterior faucet to replacing a shower head -- I called W H Winegar & Son. They quickly scheduled an appointment.

The plumber they sent was on time, courteous, offered me options to fix each issue, and explained every step he took during the repair.

Terry is excellent, and I would recommend him to anyone. He did a fully-masked walkthrough with me prior to giving a quote and answered several questions I had. His team was efficient and scheduled very quickly after receiving the quote, which made the whole process simple. I also ended up having to call him to clear a drain in an emergency several weeks after his team did the initial work, and he was able to get a team right out to my home to fix it. Terry himself is extremely responsive via text and phone call and is always feeling to hear feedback and make new suggestions if you aren't satisfied with the original work done.

Kimble showed up earlier than expected and got right to work! Very efficient in converting our 3 handle shower facet to 1. Will definitely recommend.

We've used these folks for a number of jobs and intend to keep on doing so. Quite simply, they are professional, courteous, friendly, on time and we're happy to pay for the excellent quality of work we receive! We have found their quotes to be comprehensive and accurate. Failed to reply to my response to their reply to my request for a quote.  Guess they didn't want the work.  OR the recommendation.

They responded very quickly to my quote request with an honest and reasonable quote. They came out quickly and installed a new hose bib. We would use them again for future projects.

I wish I could give them no star!! The guy charges us $440.00 for a $80.00 plumbing job!!! Most of the charges was for him waiting for our building to turn water back on!!  We didn't know that the building was going to shut the water down! The main issue is that he don't told us that he was going to charge us for him waiting!!  If he had letting us know ahead of time I would have been ok!! Wouldn't use this plumbing service again!!

Loved the timeliness and honest communication! Our service was fixed within days of reaching out, and WH was super easy to work with! Highly recommend for all your plumbing needs!

We smelled natural gas in our home and called BG&E. The BG&E inspector found two very small gas leaks in the supply line feeding our furnace & hot water heater, turned off the gas and left. It was up to me to find a plumber so I called a few local plumbers and left messages. Then I tried Winegar Plumbing where a nice young lady answered my phone call and made an appointment for the next morning. How refreshing and reassuring!
  The next day, the owner, Terry, arrived after calling us first. How polite!  I expected him to simply inspect the job, write an estimate, and let us wait for a 'technician' to show up.
  Wrong!
  Terry is an honest-to-goodness plumber and he got right to it. He found the leaks, made a parts run, returned to install the new parts, and was finished in little more than an hour. The best thing? The bill was about half of what I expected.  
   I'd definitely recommend this plumbing company. They're polite, organized, friendly, prompt, very competent, highly professional and hard working. I highly recommend Winegar Plumbing because I'm confident they're committed to performing great work for a decent price. Give them a try!

I had called W H Winegar for an estimate on a new hot water heater, as well as for resolution of a drainage issue I was having. Terry was communicative and on-time, and was professional and friendly as we talked through the issues.

The crawl space with the water heater is a tight squeeze, and I was sure that we would need to remove the major heating duct to get the work done (and pay more to make it happen.) Terry looked carefully at the space and proposed that it could be done with some creativity, and that the duct would not need to be removed. When his team showed up to do the work, they were indeed able to get the new water heater in and the old one out without any more work than was expected. They were also friendly and professional and communicated well throughout the installation.

As to the drainage issue, Terry's diagnosis was different than mine, and while he felt his team could handle it, he recommended that I first call the city to evaluate the sewer drain, as it may be their responsibility and I could potentially have it done without any cost to me. He was exactly right, both in the diagnosis and that the city could take care of it, and we had it resolved later that day. It would have been easy to charge me for the work without saying a thing, so the fact that he recommended a resolution that was cost-free to me was greatly appreciated.

Good plumbers are hard to find, and ones that are professional and courteous are even harder. Terry and his team were great in all respects, and while I hope not to need a plumber for some time, I'll certainly call them again when I do!

I discovered a leak in my main water line to the house that was leaking into the basement on Saturday morning, after reading about Winegar Plumbing on Nextdoor.com, sent them an email Saturday afternoon, and by Saturday evening, I had a response with a ballpark estimate and request for pictures. Then Terry came out to take a look on Sunday to give an exact estimate. Although they were really busy, they fit me on on Tuesday and got everything fixed in a matter of hours. The price was in line with what friends had paid for similar repairs; the crew was friendly, knowledgeable and neat; and Terry even mentioned to me a problem with the water heater installed by a different company not having gotten a permit or inspection and not being done to code. I have to say that I get suspicious when reviews are all or mostly 5 stars that they are not genuine, but these folks are the real deal.

Have used their services twice,  once a water heater and then for a furnace.  Both times I received prompt excellent service and price. Highly recommend this company.

We need an estimate for outdoor grill gas leak, the plummer stopped by for about 10 minutes, telling us the grill need to be replaced, he charged $123, we said it's too expensive, he threatened us the longer he stay, the more he charge. Very bad experience, better to stay away.

I'm a long-time user of Winegar's.  When I bought my 1928 house, their sticker was inside the kitchen cabinet.  Why: 1) professional.  2) fair prices.  3) responsive.  4) go the extra mile for good results.  Terry himself replaced my boiler several years ago -- I got 3 comps and his price was within $50 of the lowest.  When he was in my basement he remembered installing my hot water heater when his dad was still around, and mentioned it had been a while ago so I should budget for replacing it. No hard sell to do it with them then and there.

We had a big reno and our contractor used another plumber.  Every connection turned out to have a problem, dripping faucet, running toilet, etc.  Finally, when the kitchen flooded, I called Winegars.  They came out same day because we'd turned off the main.  They fixed that issue (other plumber had trimmed a supply line that should not have been cut and it popped off), checked and adjusted other connections throughout the house and recommended some actions to help dry out the HVAC.  

Winegars has worked with our old house peculiarities as well.  He once went to 3 supply shops to find a faucet that would fit in our vintage sink.  That was a rough install and they stayed friendly and cheery the whole time.  I trust them to do any job.

I needed help getting my Moms house ready for sale. These guys replaced a bathroom faucet, the toilet down stairs, and fixed a pipe i ran a screw through.
They also reconnected the gas stove for me. they did all of this when I was not at the home. I gave them a key and they did it all, I showed up and it was all done. The house sold no problems. The price was great. I will use them over and over again in my own home. And recommend them to everyone.

I called, they gave me an appointment, they called before they arrived.  He asked a couple of questions, he pretty much knew the issue once I told him the issue, went to look at the mainline and said yep you need a new pressure valve.  Began the work, completed it in a timely manner, checked to see if everything was in working order and that was it. Professional, clean and knowledgeable.  I would use them again.

Great communication, good prices, responsive and helpful.  I highly recommend Terry and his team.

Great plumber for us when we needed to replace our main. We had what turned out to be a pinhole in our copper main water line between the street and our sf home that caused some flooding damage to our neighbor's basement. I got five quotes. Winegar was the lowest and they were highly rated on Washington Checkbook so we went with them. They came out with a back-hoe, dug two neat holes, pulled the old pipe, ran a new poly pipe, bored a new hole in our basement wall, did the interior hookups, filled the holes and put everything back to normal all in about five hours. We could not have asked for a more professional job. Good communications too at all times. This is a real experienced and professional contractor.
