Best Water Softener Repair in Henderson NV

Had my water heater go south on me. Called these guys and Chris and Miguel showed up in the scheduled time. Called Sears where we originally bought the heater in 8/11. They were closed and couldn't do anything till the next day. Swell. I thought I might be able to change it, just swap it our for a new one. Wrong. After I got a great deal on a new RUDD water heater, these guys swapped it in an hour or less! Very professional, great work ethics and down to earth! These guys are very professional and knew what they were doing! They'll be the guys I'll call on again when it's time for a new water heater!

I had two companies come out and gave me an estimate of $2,000.  The Tony came and told me it is $680 job.  It was misdiagnosed by the other two.  These people were honest.

Background of the plumbing issue:
My hope is to help others who may have the same problem we had. Our house is in Henderson, NV where at one point, the homeowners were notified they might have to repipe due to issues with Kitec pipes.  My husband and I who are firm believers in don't fix it if ain't broke philosophy stayed our ground until this year when a slab leak happened. We then decided to have the repipe done.

How we researched contractors for the job:
We spent a lot of time researching via the internet. We live in California so it is difficult to find local people in Henderson, Nevada. The best link we came across was from Total Solutions which listed the Primary contractors and others for the Kitec Litigation Program in Nevada. See link below:

It was a big surprise to learn that after we made phone calls, a lot of the companies listed were either inactive, bankrupt or moved somewhere else. Reason could have been that the Kitec buzz was some years ago... I guess we are late bloomers!

From the Primary List, we picked one of them, our first candidate. Then we searched the City of Henderson's permit section to find out the latest permits issued and to see if we can spot Kitec repipes that were recently done. We found at least three homes, one of whom has just been sold. Upon further research, we found the repipe company who did the work.  This company was our second candidate.  Then we went to search in Yelp, for the third candidate. You hear a lot of stories about made up reviews, but if you are careful, you can spot the scammers. From Yelp, we found the third candidate.

Next step is to google everything about the candidates, read up on all the reviews, check licenses, Better Business Bureau complaints etc. The three were invited to do the estimates, emailed them questions afterwards as to their services and products they will be using. It is important to make everything in writing compared to verbal/phone calls. Then we researched the products to be used, called the manufacturer for details, who then emailed us the answers. It was very tempting to make your decision on who to pick based on the price/estimates presented.  All three of them appear to be decent contractors and competent. If you can afford it, don't let the price stop you from choosing a quality company. We are glad we did, in Rakeman!

Rakeman Plumbing:
Decision was made based on who can help us the best, now and in the future, based on experience, knowledge, history and name recognition. We choose Rakeman Plumbing out of the three. It was a wise decision we later found out.  Not only are they accommodating, they employ very good people. That's their secret for longevity I think. Rocky Berger knew his stuff, he explained the Kitec Repipe process like no other. After we received an estimate and informed him his company got the job, we asked for a copy of the contract for us to review. Reading the exceptions in the contract was scary at first but once he explained them, we realized they have to cover themselves too.  A day before the job was started, we wrote the company a check for half of the cost of the repipe.

The repipe process:
First day, started early at 730 am.Garage was open the whole time they were working. We stationed someone at the garage area to secure the house from strangers not connected to the job .Appliances were moved, dishwasher to the garage and refrigerator out of the way. A couple of workers did the plastic protection for all affected work areas. Water was turned off, drywall was cut for specific areas and repiping started soon after that. At around 5 pm, amazingly, water was restored! Adan and his crew, made that all possible.

Next day, city inspector showed up, did his job and educated us on some points about the job being done. In the afternoon, the drywall was put back and paint was applied in affected areas, garage and inside the house. Miguel and Lola did a beautiful job on the color match for the paint! Next day, the dishwasher, refrigerator, garage sink and water softener unit were put back in place. We opted to have a new Pressure regulator and that was also installed.

Post repipe phone calls with Rakeman:
After the final check was issued, it is of course normal for a homeowner to worry if the contractor will even receive your call or text you back afterwards! With Rakeman, it's different. When something minor needed to be done, his men came back, the same way they started before: respectful, competent and nice. Tip:
Respect goes both ways, when you deal with workers, treat them with respect, be nice and try to always ask for their first names. This way they will treat you and your house with respect. Make them comfortable and make them feel they are fixing their own house. You will get a lot out of it.

Great experience from start to finish. The office lady was super helpful when I called, got me an appointment within a couple days. The plumber ( Bryce ) was amazing and very knowledgeable. Really made us feel like he wasn't just here for the money but to truly help us with our problem ( slab leak ). The price was better then any that I found online. I will definitely continue to use these guys in the future!

Less than 24 hours after I called them (& I called during closed hours expecting to have to leave a message AND I think the only reason it took even as long as it did is because I had to work- they made a point of making themselves available to rescue me), my kitchen sink is unclogged and running free- YAY!!!
  I'd always heard bad things about plumbers- uncivilized manners, crack, etc. This was my first experience with professionals- I come from a do-it-yourself type of family. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that what I'd heard and come to nervously expect was completely false stereotype in this instance.
   Jerry and Dan were friendly, polite, and completely professional. They got the job that I'd been dreading done quickly and cleanly. They were helpful and very pleasant, even showed an interest in my pets, and very kind with their pricing. Definitely putting them on my Go-To list. Thanks guys!

We had the black pipe break from the street to the house. We called another plumber out and they were very rude and seemed high on the price to replace the line. I called WEB Pluming for a second opinion not sure what to expect. They were there in 45 minutes, gave us a better price without knowing what the first company was going to charge. They stayed at the house until 8:30pm, even in the rain to make sure we had water that night.
We were one of the homes that had the bad kitech fittings that had to be replaced. WEB saw they did the pressure control valve wrong and spent extra time to repair it as well.
This job was not an easy 1hour fix. They did an amazing job fixing our broken waterlines and our yard almost looks like they were not even there. They even fixed a broken irrigation line that was damaged but not by them. I will never call another plumber again, these people are amazing.

Can't help but really LIKE these guys.  Nahinu came to our rescue to deal with a water heater leak.  He got us a water heater lickety split and set it up on a temp stand til the restoration company got the damage fixed.  Hey, best part is that he gave me some great advice about choosing the new unit and maintaining it against future damage.  Thanks Nahinu, Mana, and Rob!  (pssst - this is a full-service plumbing outfit.)

Needed my water heater replaced in home.  Everyday standard 40 gallon gas water heater.  Called around.   Well known professional plumbing company 's like Anytime and Rakeman were quoting $1100+!!!  Ummm no.
Called Silver Star, quoted me $775.
Winner winner.  Came out 2 hours later.  And 90 mins after arriving..done, signing invoice, thank you have a nice day.  Cannot beat the price!!!  Thank you Silver Star for not charging a ridiculous high amount and thanks to Mike for getting the job done so efficiently.  See you guys next time I have a plumbing crisis:)

These guys were a huge help! We called around and they had the lowest cost for our repair, and were even able to come over within an hour of calling them to fix our plumbing. The technician was very courteous and knowledgable and completed the repair flawlessly in half the quoted time. Not only that, he also took off some of the labor charge because he was done so quickly. I'm very DIY, but if I find myself in a plumbing bind, they'll be my first call and they should be yours too!

I had the plumbing inside of 3 toilets and 3 faucets replaced by Juan a couple of months ago. He was informative and friendly. The quality of the work is so far so good

Kurt did a great job installing my toilet.  Very affordable price.  Very friendly.  I would definitely recommend him.

I called at end of day Tuesday and my call was returned early Wednesday morning (as expected).  He made an appointment for later in the day.  He was prompt and called when he was almost here.  He saw the problem and told me what needed to be done.  He told me what it would cost to replace the leaking Garbage disposal.    

Because he did not have the type needed, he had to go purchase it.  He returned promptly, installed it, checked it and also made sure the dishwasher was not leaking.   No muss, no fuss.  He also replaced a washer on a pipe that did not have one.   He was personable and professional.   Lord knows I hope I never need a plumber again but if I do I will call them.   He also wore a mask as required by law.

They came to my rental in a Thursday at 2pm. It is now Wednesday at 1:12 and I still have not been notified. I had to call Monday. My tenants told me he was going to call me to let me know I needed a new sink. No call. When I called on Monday they said the plumber was off and there was nothing they can do because they couldn't get a hold of them. Please note before I called in the afternoon on Monday I had left a message for them to call ME .. nothing. They said they would call Tuesday .. but by late morning I called again. They had to get a hold of the plumber and told me the plumber has to call it in and couldn't get through to American Home Shield, but would call for sure . He would get back to me that that night . No call . It is now Wednesday and I called American Home Sheila and after I called them on Sunday and they sent an email to them, which meant they got by Monday .. they still had not even bothered to call me to at least let me know the plumber was off. Now American Home Shield still tells me as of Wednesday no diagnosis from the plumber , which means he still didn't call it in!! They talked to the company and they still are waiting on the plumbers! Wow! Really ?NOW I STILL AM WAITING .AHS says if they don't call it in today I am getting another company !!! Dont get this company they never follow up !! The sink is leaking and he still hadn't called it in for approval for 6 days . He did the service on Thursday at 2 .. So he can't say it's because of the weekend. !!! I'm so upset that they just are so unresponsive it's unreal!! I called the company again and they gave me the same story they will call the plumber and let him know to call American Home Shield ! The funny part is AHS just called them and told them they needed the diagnosis and they still did nothing! I told them if he didn't call AHS by today I would be requesting another company ! I just can't believe the lousy customer  service ! Just terrible ! Forget these people !!

For a company that just started out in business the owner does a good job but his workers are the worst I've seen in this industry I wouldn't recommend them they have no customer service his techs and little skills employees are not very knowledgeable and cannot usually get the job done! If you want to have the work done twice and pay twice then they are the ones to call...

Had Jack Dish Plumbing replace our water heater. We are more than satisfied with their work. Very professional and their tech David is knowledgeable and polite and very professional. Their rates are more than fare and I would use them again if needed and would highly recommend using their service.

OMGosh the gentleman that came by yesterday was the best!!! Timely, professional, honest... etc.  I  have used many different companies over the years but this one can't be beat!!

Hips is just the very best plumbing company. I got a new tankless water heater and softener. Tyler is wonderful. He came and gave me an estimate, and the final price was the same as the estimate. Hips, Tyler and another young man came to do the installation. They were on time, very neat and clean and very professional. I would highly recommend this company. I am so happy with them after dealing with a lot of sub standard plumbers here in Las Vegas.

These plumbers actually now what they are talking about Dave is great, I would use them all the time.  Also very fair on pricing.

I have a home warranty which referred them when I moved into my new house.  I thought I couldn't pick who I used and was stuck with them.  The girl in the office that answers the phone treated me like an idiot, and every time someone came out to fix my problems it was a different person.  5 months later I am still having some problems but fortunately found someone else through my warranty and they are wonderful! So I absolutely won't call 5 star again.  They need to fire the girl at the desk and start over!
