HISTORY
Established in 1982.
After completing a plumbing apprenticeship in the late 1970's, Carl Kruse began building custom homes. The home building business was doing well until a recession in the early 80's drove mortgage interest rates above 15%. Needless to say, houses stopped selling when that happened. At that point Carl began doing plumbing repairs to make ends meet. When the economy improved Carl began hiring good plumbers and started doing plumbing in residential and commercial construction projects as well as service and repair. Eventually Carl's son Ryan came on board and became a plumber and now helps run the company. Carl and Ryan are both thankful for all the talented trades people and office staff past and present who have helped make CHKP what it is today.

I have been working for and with my dad Carl at CH Kruse Plumbing since 1990. I grew up in the plumbing trade and spent 13 years in the field before moving into the office to do estimating and project management. My wife, Cristen is in her last year of law school at Lewis and Clark and I have a 9 year old daughter who is in the fourth grade. We also have a new baby on the way. I really enjoy being a part of our family business, and I also enjoy coaching my daughters soccer team, snowboarding, kite boarding, playing soccer, running, photography and many other interests.

We had a leak under our kitchen sink and I called several plumbers but the only one that actually answers was Jennifer at Kruce. She was very sweet and fit us in right after the weekend... Monday promptly at 8 am Bobby came out and fixed the leak. Turned out we needed a new faucet so he recommended we pick our own and he was able to come this morning right on time. Terrific job. Bobby is such a nice guy!
Anytime we need a plumber we know who to call!
I needed our toilet replaced, and they were able to come out within a day to get it swapped out. They did the work very quickly, and they did it right the first time. New toilet works perfectly! The prices were also very reasonable. Very happy with the service I got from C H Kruse. :)
I normally don't write reviews but I felt compelled to since I received such great service from CH Kruse Plumbing. I called them because our water metering has been running and I suspected our toilets were the cause. They said they would do their best to come by the next day, but I got a call back saying they could come right now! Kurt (I hope I got his name right) was the technician and he fixed the toilets and kept checking our meter to make sure everything looked right. Thanks so much! I would definitely use them again!

This place never showed up for there appointment and this was the second place I called for services and they did the same thing , they never called us to coming or reschedule the appointment. we got nothing I will not be using them...
Kirk was professional, friendly and punctual.
His honesty was appreciated by recommending we order a missing part rather than replace the entire shower fixture. We are very happy with the repair work! The bath / shower handle now works perfectly. We also appreciated Jennifer in the office who was always friendly, professional and efficient in scheduling appointments.
What a great experience. I never like paying for things, but when i do at least the service could be great. that is what a felt about Peter. He was curious, knowledgeable, and precise. Thank you peter for easing my money separation anxiety BTW---- You are invited to Thanksgiving if you don't have plans. .

I highly recommend this company. I had a leak from the ceiling that I thought was going to be really expensive. I called at the last minute on Thursday night. Bobby came out Friday and located the leak and fixed it. He also added an access door so we can get into the tub area in the future and we also didn't need to do drywall repair as predicted. It was inexpensive and super efficient. He was super friendly. We will definitely use this company for all of our future needs.

I got some work done in March of 2014 and today my faucet started squirting water when I went to put on the new trim piece. I'm a single mom with two kids and having to turn my water off for any extended period of time is disastrous... they had someone to my house in less than a half hour the faucet fixed in less than 20 minutes and didn't charge me anything. The guy left saying nope we just want you to be happy with the work we do. Told me to have a great night and was on his way. I couldn't be happier and I hope I don't need anymore work done anytime soon but if I do I won't use anyone but them. Thank you!!!!
Just called to get a quote on a shower install and was told that they were too busy to give me a quote... I didn't tell them that it needed to be right away or anything. I was shocked that a company would turn away business.

My mother was having an issue with her garbage disposal. I looked up Kruse Plumbing on Yelp for her and was not disappointed. Through talks with Jennifer at reception to Ryan re: the problem, they agreed that the problem might be electrical vs. plumbing and referred us to BK Electric. Bill from BK Electric returned our call, came promptly to fix the problem at an affordable price. I highly recommend both of these businesses...professional and courteous all the way!

I just found out this morning that I had a leak behind my kitchen sink. The water was spraying out a pipe behind the wall and I had no idea how to turn the water off. I called C. H. Kruse and they were able to send someone out within the hour. Kirk looked at it and was able to give me a knowledgeable and realistic assessment of the situation. He fixed the problem and suggested some next steps to help keep this from happening again in the future. Now I just hope my insurance company proves to be as easy to deal with. I will definitely be using C. H. Kruse again.
It's been several months since I had this company out to do some work and I've just had an issue come up which reminded me to write a review.
The main issue I called for, a hose bib replacement, wasn't even attempted. The tech arrived a few minutes before I did and couldn't wait to tell me that although it obviously needed repair, he wouldn't touch it because the siding would need to be cut away to access the bib fully. Ok? Not only was I disappointed that the main job couldn't be done, he also didn't offer any alternatives or direction on how I should proceed.
I then asked to have the hardware on my two tubs replaced. The tech had to leave to get parts which took a while, and when he returned he reeked of cigarette smoke, which was off putting. He replaced the parts, and told me that the front plastic piece for the tub handle didn't fit and another one would be needed, leading me to believe he'd ordered it and would put it on later. (The one I have is really old and yellowed.) Nope, I've never heard another peep and don't have the part.
The final thing, which I didn't notice until after he'd left was the ridiculously shodding job of caulking he'd done around the new tub parts. Seriously, it looks like a child did it. When I get home tonight I'll take a photo and attach to this review.
All told, I would not recommend this company based upon my experience with this tech. I paid around $500 to have some surface tub parts replaced and the work done was not up to par.
By the way, another local plumbing company is taking care of the complete hose bib repair, siding and all, so again I'm not sure why that couldn't be done by CH Kruse, although given the quality of the other work done it's probably just as well.
So, I thought I could replace the junky old spigot on the outside of my house myself, and I tried doing it on the friday before Memorial Day weekend. Long story short, I broke the shit out of that spigot but I could NOT get it unscrewed, and it doesn't have a shut off valve, which meant that I couldn't turn the water to my house back on until it was fixed. I called up C.H. Kruse Plumbing, and after a sob story about potentially having to spend the 3 day weekend festering in a house with no water, they agreed to swing by that afternoon, despite not really having official availability that day. He managed to get the spigot off, and I finished up as I had previously planned. I'm so grateful they were able to come help me out! I will absolutely have them out to do other work for me in the future.
My disposal broke down just in time for thanksgiving. Luckily I called C H Kruse Plumbing and they had someone there the next day! They called before hand to let me know they were coming, it took them an hour and they had everything they needed to do the work with them. (PS Great customer service) The work got done very quickly and they were clean while doing so. The new disposal works perfectly! Thank you so much for helping us and making this SO easy and affordable.

Just had a visit from Ian for a leak under out sink. Quick, personable, knowledgable. Fixed the problem and corrected some non-code pipe installation. I'm SO grateful! And the people in the office are very helpful & friendly. All around a good experience.
Sent a request for a fairly simple estimate on replacing 3 toilets and never received a response. That is all I know.
Ryan is super!! He is reliable and honest! I had used him several times in the past, and will have no problem using him in future!
We needed a plumber when our generalist contractor ended up unable to to install new shower fixtures during a bathroom remodel. I called the owner Ryan at the recommendation of an employee. I received excellent customer service from start to finish.
Ryan personally came out and assessed the situation and was able to promptly locate missing parts for the project. A couple days later, an employee named Donny came out to the house and completed the job. He was fast, and kept the work area clean. Even though he needed to cut through a bedroom wall to access plumbing behind the shower, he did it in such a clean, professional way that patching the sheetrock after he was done was a piece of cake. I was surprised at how quickly he took care of the job!
I highly recommend C.H. Kruse Plumbing for their excellent customer service and professional know-how!
Kruse has done 3 jobs for me now. They always do what they say. Latest job, back flow connect for my sprinkler system. Of course I didn't excavate enough. They showed up, no complaints and got to work; excavating and finished the job in 1.5 hours. Of that 1 hour was excavating. My only plumber going forward for ANY job!

I am so happy I found this company. I had a toilet that was leaking and they were able to come out and fix the problem within 90 mins of the initial call. I also had a bathtub that needed to be replaced and they were able to replace it in a timely manner, respectable pricing and the guys were so friendly and nice. They have always gone above and beyond to make things right.
I came home from a week-long trip to find that I had a leak under my kitchen sink. I have so much dread when it comes to hiring someone to do work on my home. I own an 80 year-old home and have had at least five different plumbing companies come out to do various repairs or installations. Each time I felt like I was ripped off or taken advantage of. Seriously, you should not have to ask your plumber to do work that is up to code! That should be their standard. This time I searched yelp and read some company reviews. I gave C.H. Kruse a call and Jen told me she could send someone out that afternoon to take a look. Kirk came out to take a look, and within less than five minutes he was able to diagnose the problem, which was the faucet itself. I worked with Jen to schedule someone to come out the very next day to install a new kitchen faucet. A different guy, also named Kirk, came out today to do the installation. I am so impressed with both Kirks! Both of them are knowledgeable, friendly, polite, and trustworthy. Kirk #2 replaced the faucet quickly and without any issues. He assured me he would be out promptly should anything come up, and to not hesitate to call. After this experience I will not hesitate to call C.H. Kruse for any future plumbing needs. I am a local Realtor with Premiere Property Group and needed a plumber to do an air pressure test on the pipes for a winterized HUD home. These guys were the only local plumbers with the correct equipment that could make time for me. Not only were they on time and friendly but they were also very patient while we had to wait for the PUD to come out and turn on the electricity (they were supposed to have already done it but forgot). Once they did the test, the gentleman was so knowledgeable he was even able to diagnose the problem just using air, most plumbers would not have been able to do that. And he fixed the problem for free in a matter of minutes! I didn't even ask for a diagnostic and repair, now that's sevice! I will recommend these people to anyone!
We just had a new water heater installed by Danny of Kruse Plumbing, and he did an excellent job. I was very happy they could come out and do the install the next day when I called. Our 25 year old water heater started leaking, and less than 24 hours later, we have a new water heater. He wore a mask the entire time, for those of you who are concerned, and the work area was left very clean. Thanks to a speedy response and installation, we had minimal interruption in our hot water service.
Called them with an issue. They were very upfront and referred us elsewhere. Thank you for not taking advantage of us to make a buck only to tell us we needed someone else to fix our problem. Great customer service!
We used Kruse to relocate all our existing water supply and waste drain plumbing in the basement of our 1930 house so the basement could be finished. They also did all the rough in and most of the finish plumbing for the new laundry room and bathroom. They worked really well with our other contractor and had excellent ideas for locating the new water service and drain lines in ways that worked efficiently and it was easy to finish around. As with any large project, we had a few hiccups, but Ryan and his crew were very responsive in addressing the issue. Ryan's costs were very competitive and he was good about communicating changes to the original scope of work that were unforeseen when the project started. The project is now complete and everything is working really well, we are very happy about it and I would definitely use Kruse again.
Our kitchen sink had been backing up off and on for a few months when suddenly the problem became more like, Oh, the sink WON'T drain now. Great.... We chose CH Kruse because of all these awesome reviews on Yelp and we're now pleased to throw our positive review out there as well. The plumber showed up on time as schedule, quickly snaked the sink drain, found a gross ball of solid cooking oil (presumably from the previous owners, as I never dump oil down the sink) and just like that, my sink drains again! Prices were far, service was quick. Hopefully I won't HAVE to be a return customer, but if the situation arises, I will definitely be calling them again. Thumbs up.
I cannot sing enough praises about this company! They have been amazing to work with from start to finish. Their professionalism, exceptional attention to detail and stellar customer service sets them miles above the competition. We were referred to this company for a second opinion about a plumbing issue in our house, and man I wish they had been the first company that we called. They were able to come out to assess the problem quickly and the gentleman that came out to help us, Bobby was awesome! He took the time to do some poking around and explain to us what exactly he was doing and answered the many questions that we had, which instilled trust in him and they company he was representing. They kept great communication with us, were honest and upfront about everything through the entire process and were able to start the repairs quickly! The project wasn't a simple repair but the crew was able to get the entire job done in 2 days which was a huge blessing! I will never rely on another company in the future for my plumbing needs besides C.H. Kruse. I wouldn't hesitate referring them to anyone in need of a plumber. They have created customers for life!
We are new to Vancouver & have never needed to hire a plumber before. So, our whole experience with Kruse Plumbing was new to us on several different levels.
We were looking to install a utility sink in our laundry room.
Initially our experience with Ryan was pleasant. However, as the quote process and scheduling of work progressed, the transaction got very confusing. It started out with a high quote, that we questioned, which resulted in a price adjustment. Most of our communication took place over email, so it was easy to access written information.
The plumber arrived promptly both times. We noticed the wrong faucet had been delivered with the sink and had to make sure we were getting what was stated in quote. The sheet rock repair guy didn't show up at all, which resulted in a call to Ryan to see what happened. Sheet rocker eventually showed up 2 hours late, & wasn't able to actually work until later that afternoon. That was a bit frustrating as our time had been planned around the work being done when scheduled.
As stated earlier, the whole quote was very confusing with Ryan going back & forth between a quote and what he called T & M. (which we had no idea what he was referring to.) In the end, we found out it was time & material. We requested a break down of the final bill. We received a defensive & unprofessional phone call from Ryan questioning why we wanted a itemized invoice. Several times he raised his voice and talked right over the top of any response.
We are satisfied with the work that was done, but we completely disappointed by Ryan's behavior. Suffice it to say.....it wasn't an overall pleasant experience & will not recommend them.
On time, Got in, got the job done in about 45 mins.
They also did a good job at giving us options and getting the quote right on the money.

We are remolding our condo and needed a plumber. We made several calls and used Yelp. The first company that called us back was C.H. Kruse. Ryan asked for a description of job and photos and within a couple hours we had a bid. Fabulous work, fast, clean and respectful. No job too small, glad to come right out and preform work did not make us wait two weeks for our ice maker to be plumbed unlike competitors. Glad we chose Kruse Plumbing for impeccable work and fast reasonable service. This guy is your best choice by far!!

These folks were so nice! After a bathroom remodel, our hot water in the tub wasn't getting near hot enough. I called to make an appointment and the very nice lady at CH Kruse suggested I google and watch a quick You Tube video, because the repair could be something simple. She was correct and I was able to fix it within five minutes AND she saved us $200 for the appointment. I will definitely call in the future for our plumbing needs!

Ryan is great. After the big freeze in Dec 2013, he not only dealt with the insurance, he re-designed the piping in my floathome and handled two separate bills, one for the insured damage and one to re-pipe the house.
The crew replaced all the PVC with PEX, and realigned the piping from under the home (where one would normally have need a diver) up into the house so it wouldn't happen again. They were courteous, cleaned up every time and fun to have here. He even arranged to have the drywall repaired for me. Complete service with complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend these folks to work on any plumbing problems you have.

We've used Kruse plumbing several times and continue to use their service as we are always pleased. We just had Kruse visit for a pipe that burst with the recent harsh winter (pipe froze). Service was prompt, thorough, and informative. The price point was honest and our pipe no longer leaks.
We are very satisfied and recommend Kruse when asked for recommendations.
We needed a shampoo bowl installed in our house within 24 hours. These guys came through. They were honest, and the work was top quality. The price was fair, and I will surely be calling them for future plumbing needs.
I had Daniel come out to my home (wore a mask the whole time) and replace a section of my old galvanized shower plumbing with copper and pex pipe, install a new mixing valve, run pex to the site of my future double sink vanity and split our one drain pipe into two.
Daniel was friendly, professional and punctual. He didn't mind me asking all sorts of plumbing questions while he worked.
From start to finish, CH Kruse plumbing was very easy to work with, well priced and professional. I'd highly recommend them for any of your plumbing needs.
I honestly don't even know where to begin!! When I contacted Ryan K., he was very friendly and helpful. I had three toilets replaced at the cost they quoted me. Ryan, the tech, was tidy and timely! Apparently I have a city water issue which is tossing rocks into my tanks and clogging my filters but Ryan came back to check it out. GREAT bunch!! I would highly recommend this Kruse Plumbing!!

Great job. One handle was ridiculously difficult to turn and the stopper needed adjustment. Jaime changed out the kit on top. It works great. Stopper was adjusted too. Very nice guy too. I will use these guys again should the need arise.

Had a problem with an Omni filter attached to the water heater. (Previous owner's.) Was broken and leaking so I called Kruse's on a beautiful, sunny Sunday and got Ryan's voicemail. He called back within minutes to chat about the problem. Suggested I wait until the next day to save the money on a Sunday appt. A really friendly Kirk came out the next day and finished the job within an hour.
Plumbing... easy and stressless. AND I met some really nice people to boot.

Made appointment, called when they were on the way, showed up on time, got to work and completed the work based on time estimate.

I was hopeful from the many awesome reviews of this plumber, but had a less-than-awesome experience.
I called on a Friday to request a bid for a decent-sized remodel project I'm doing (including adding a half-bath, replumbing a basement bath, etc.) and was told I would receive a call from the estimator, Ryan, to schedule an appointment. I knew I wouldn't hear back over the weekend, but no calls on Monday. I waited patiently until Tuesday afternoon before calling again. I was able to talk to Ryan, who apologized for dropping the ball, but said they're really busy and it would be had to do a bid. But then he tried to do right and scheduled an appointment for two days later to do a walkthrough for the scope of work, so I thought all was good. Until he no-showed at the appointment.
So if you can get them to actually do the work, it's probably great. Getting to that point was the hard part for me and I've since moved on. The moral of this story is that if you say you're going to do something, then do it. Don't string someone along when you really don't have the time to follow through.
