HISTORY

Established in 1958.
The company was founded by Luther Morris, who started out with a pick-up truck, a tool shed and an idea. Luther had a very simple business philosophy: do what's right by the customer. Dewey Jenkins purchased the company in 1990. After 32 years in business, the original Morris Heating & Cooling Co. had 12 employees, a reputation for honesty and quality, but virtually no service division. Dewey has continued Luther's policy of honesty, but also added another philosophy: make it easy for the customer to do business with us. Like all other heating and air companies in Charlotte, Morris-Jenkins was only open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and provided limited emergency service beyond those hours, when Dewey took over in 1990. Seeking to meet customer's needs, Morris-Jenkins became the first heating and air company to offer evening and weekend service at no additional charge.

Been a Priority Advantage member for a year now and normally I'm a bit skeptical of HVAC companies (really any home maintenance company), but I gotta say Morris Jenkins has been really terrific to me.

Today when I turned my AC on for the first time this summer I noticed it wasn't blowing cool air. I called Morris Jenkins at about 1:30, and by 3:30 they had a tech on their way. Thanks to the tech giving me a call to let me know they were on the way, I was able to ask them to come by a little later at 4:30 when I would be home. Not a problem for the MJ team, they sent Pete over who was exactly on time.

Pete took about 10 minutes to fix my problem, in the pouring rain no less. He let me know that the problem was due to an error from the previous tech. Instead of blaming something else, Pete was super cool about it. 15 minutes after he arrived, Pete had cool air blasting through the vents. Since I am a Priority Advantage member, the visit was cost me nothing!

Thank you, Morris Jenkins, and I can be a little more confident knowing that I've got someone on my side if/when I need it!

Priority advantage member so I pay 20$ a month with these guys. Had a furnace switch break. They charged me 481$ for a 32$ part and .5 hours of work.

Canceling my membership and moving on to a different company

Update: the owner told me to email to talk to a supervisor and I did, talked to a supervisor, they were no help. Still canceling

I've been an advantage member for nearly two years, and tomorrow I will cancel all services and connections to this company. Sure, they are always available, always polite and professional, but this company is purely sales-driven. And yes, they give you options on repairs, but it is presented in a way that there is only one real option--the most expensive one. I've now had at least three experiences with repairs that could have been done for much less, but were billed at outrageous rates. My fault for agreeing to these, but now I see the pattern and the business model. Their techs are totally commission driven and their pricing seems to be arbitrary and based on how much the salesperson and/or their boss (whom they invariably call to consult every time) think they can squeeze out of you, especially if you live in a nice neighborhood. Today, it cost me nearly $800 to have two shower/tub spouts replaced where I supplied the $24 parts from Home Depot. Fifteen minute job each, yet each one was something like $180 to do because the tech couldn't find a spout replacement price in the database, so he went with the next closet thing: the price for a shower head replacement (~$180). Worst of all, I had them do a repair on a PVC drain pipe for a sump pump under my house that sends water to the yard. The pipe had been broken/cut and simply needed to be fused. Normally a 5 minute job. That was over $450. Total time spent on the job was about two hours, and some of that was time the tech spent in the van writing the estimate and making notes after repairs. This works out to be nearly $400 an hour for very basic plumbing work. Most lawyers don't even command $400 an hour. I now see the light and it is too bad that this company is driven on sales instead of looking out for their customers' best interest. It seems that the only thing that matters is how much they think they can squeeze out of you--skillfully judging your reactions and sizing you up along the way before moving in for the kill. Again, my fault for choosing convenience over price. It won't happen again, because I am done with this company and will go back to an old school plumber or HVAC tech who simply bills by the hour, as opposed to how large they can make their own paycheck for that month. I'm done, and this is too bad. But now I know why they are so nice, clean, and professional. It's all about setting up the squeeze.

P.S. Morris J., please don't bother leaving your boneheaded canned response to another negative review, which goes something like this:

Hi ______, sorry to hear you didn't receive a five star experience with us. Our goal is always to present all of the available options to you so that you can select the best one for you and it doesn't sounds like we provided that on that visit. We would love to have our service team follow up on this if you could provide us your contact information to customerservice@morrisje…. Thanks for your feedback!

Don't waste your time, or mine. Everyone reading these reviews can see the same pattern. These problems aren't fixable, because greed is the driving factor, and that's not likely to change since you've got the volume to wash out a few negative reviews. Best for me to just move on at this point.

They over charged me beween 300% to 10 times what was necessary all I needed was a $40 float they gave me a $4200 repair bill and did not clea n up after themselves.  they are holding up the sale of my house because of them.    Very dissatified.  Thinking about calling a lawyer and a TV statiion.

They earned a star for the coming out when they said they would and let me know when the tech was arriving.  Otherwise, do not use them.  I was told to replace a 7-year-old AC system with an approx cost of $12-$15K. A salesperson was supposed to contact me to provide me with an estimate last week.  No call or follow up.  Meantime I found another company who was able to replace the contact and clean the coils for under $500.  Morris Jenkins is dishonest and puts profits over honesty.

We had them out for our annual heating inspection.
They had scheduled between 10 and 2 and we received a call around 9:45 that they would arrive in 20 minutes and Lee arrived within that time.
It is refreshing to have people who think about time and hold to it.
Lee was friendly and courteous. I love that they wear covers on their shoes when they come inside
He inspected and cleaned the coils as well as changed all of the filters and checked the batteries in the smoke detectors.
It took him about an hour to do everything.

Mr. Jenkins says, The Best Time to Cuddle is . . .

Y'know -- I remember going to Myrtle Beach when I was 6 years old. The year was 1976, the last ANALOG summer before Star Wars transformed my imagination and expectations about what could be possible. It was that hot July I first came face-to-face with the bleary-eyed monster, Disappointment. He came (along with a score of his immediate family members, dessicated and plastic wrapped, slickly marketed to my innocent young mind in the form of Sea Monkeys. Life . . . and shrimp . . . never tasted quite the same afterwards.

Fast-Forward to June 2022. 46 years later, and I'm living in Indian Trail, North Carolina with my friend and Fraternity Brother in a big house on Haunted Hill. [Actual street changed to cover up our crimes. Allegedly]

Big Storm.
Lights blink, the electrical panel falters.
AC out.

I think about those clever commercials I've seen on TV for so many years for Morris-Jenkins Heating & Air Conditioning services.

I think of sea monkeys.

I set my expectations appropriately.
Low.
Abysmally so.
Below sea-level just ike the Great Salt Lake of Utah home to Donny & Marie Osmand and  Artemia (the scientific name for brine shrimp AKA Sea Monkeys)
I visited The Great Salt Lake once; it stinks.
Without air conditioning, so did I!
I took a shower and rolled the dice by placing a call to Morris-Jenkins.
How terrible would the call be? How long would I wait to speak to a person? Would my ancestors still be waiting on the repairman?
My enquiring mind and perspiring body needed answers!

- more to come -

Have been using Morris Jenkins for years and have been very satisfied with the professionalism of their technicians. Recently we had Jay Taggart here for our AC maintenance. In servicing our AC he noticed immediately that a necessary component of our heating system had dislodged and was sending the odor through an upstairs office. Fortunately, he took care of this for us before the heating season was upon us. I will continue to use Morris Jenkins  and their Priority Advantage plan. Thank you Jay for the great service that was fulfilled with professionalism and pleasant communication.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Our HVAC went out last year, having a new born in the house in the middle of summer; we decided to act quickly to get it replaced. We called Morris-Jenkins! To make a long story short. We just found out , that when you finance your HVAC, they also take a Lien out on your home. That's not cool and we were not told. Of course we should have read the contract but that's something you should also be informed of during purchasing

After two years of being their Advantage member today I sadly regret to say I will no longer patronize this company. I have cancelled my membership.

On June 2nd my capacitor on my standard 3 ton residential unit went out. Normal market rate as of today after all this pandemic related price hike ranges in between $180-280 depending on where you go. I was charged $478.34 for something which costs $20  in parts in retail cost. This is after receiving my Advantage member discount. It was a 25 minute job.

They are getting 5 star for providing good service quality, but zero stars in value. Their prices have become predatory and they know people don't know better. For folks reading this review, know that if your late model AC suddenly doesn't cool one day it's most likely your capacitor. I should have called a handful of companies before calling them. After the work completed and before I posted this review, I price checked with two other companies which are also in Google and got quotes for under $300 including their visit fee in the Charlotte market.

Do yourself a favor and if you seek good value skip this company. If money is no object, I think these guys provide good service quality.

Ultimately it was my decision to allow the work to progress as I was sweating. The overcharge will not kill me but there is better value out there and it bothers me knowing that. I will give my business to the next company who provides a good value and not relies on people's discomfort to charge an exorberant fee. I wonder what they will quote for an actual AC install - glad we will never know.

Thumbs up this review if it was helpful.

Avoid Morris-Jenkins!  Most bad reviews are about something minor the customer blew out of proportion.  Not this review.  Morris-Jenkins told me I needed a new system that would cost between $12,000 and $18,000.  In my Fall 2022 service visit I was told there was a small freon leak that couldn't be repaired and would need to be monitored.  Two weeks ago they came for the Spring service visit and told me that there was no freon left in the system, and, since freon is a lubricant and there was none, the outdoor unit would now need to be replaced as well.  I called another HVAC service company who did a thorough system inspection.  They reported that no only were there no problems, but that the system has been exceptionally well maintained.  I had trouble believing it, so he did a quick walk-through inspection and showed me the readings on his diagnostic equipment.  WHAT MORRIS-JENKINS DID WASN'T AN ACCIDENT.  This wasn't  one person at Morris-Jenkins.  It involved two different service techs over a six month period of time, which means a supervisor was aware of this also.

Getting quotes for a new unit.  Salesman came in, never looked at the unit, asked some basic questions and said $37K. I just got a quote for $16K and he got mad and said there is no way. I showed him the qoute I had on paper and he turned around and left. Extremely rude!

Morris Jenkins sent Nick to our house on a Saturday afternoon. we called the day before with an emergency and requested a Saturday appointment when we would be home. Nick was on time, professional and super nice and courteous. He fixed our problem in no time at all and left the work area spotless. He showed us what the problem was. We are extremely pleased with the service and price! We paid $77 for all of the work and parts, etc.. Can't beat that! Thank you, Nick, and Morris Jenkins.

I bought my house in May and decided to continue the Priority Advantage membership of the previous homeowner.  It is now October, and I canceled my membership this week.  Morris-Jenkins has been out to my home twice - hot water heater and HVAC.  The technicians are timely, courteous, and knowledgeable and I understand they are doing a job according to the M-J business model, but I had enough.  I tested my gas furnace, and I was getting no heat.  I suspected the problem was the draft inducer motor, so I priced the part at $200.  But I called M-J for a service call to confirm and that was the problem.  M-J gave me 2 options - replace the motor ($1895) or get a new unit ($7-$10k).

I explained to the technician that I am no longer paying outrageous prices for M-J to run another 5 commercials and I'm cancelling the membership.  I ordered the motor and replaced it myself in about an hour.

Also, the hot water heater replacement was quoted by M-J at $3800.  Called another company - $1600 installed with warranties.  I can't figure where the extra $2200 goes except to the TV and radio ads.

Don't let the down-home Mr Jenkins told me.... commercials fool you.  This business has one purpose:  to suck as much money from you as possible.

Had a toilet that needed to be replaced which is a 45 min job.  The Techs took 2 hours because they're supposed to conduct a whole-home inspection and identify any additional needs.  I called for a toilet replacement and that's all I wanted.

On a second visit to review a hotwater heater installation by a third party, the Tech spent half his hour visit complaining about how two-faced and backstabbing Southerners were (yet he moved here from NJ and was staying).  In addition to forcing me to listen to that, at the end of his inspection, he said his company wouldn't make any corrections since they didn't want the liability associated with a third-party installation.  Why did this company waste my valuable time if they had no intention of doing any work?

Stay away, Morris-Jenkins is a bunch of crooks who are trading on a local brand-name.

Well, it took me a little longer than others in my neighborhood to get fed up with Morris Jenkins, but it happened today. The job was to change out my stovetop. I bought a new one and simply wanted a certified person to connect the gas line. The service guy looked at it and went to make a phone call since I had the part already. He said I have an amount for you. He fixed his mouth to say the cost would be $542.00. I immediately instructed him to get out of my house. The cost should not be based on the house, but the actual job. So much for being a Priority Advantage Member.

I've had a lot of work done from this company over this past year and I have a few thoughts, because I want to be honest in my experience with this company.

Pros:
1) Excellent communication
2) super nice people
3) on time, polite and there if you need someone in a pinch

Cons:
-overpriced

I've had a few  plumbing jobs at the house so when we were told about our air ducts we're bad they came out and quoted 14k, the salesman seemed kinda pushy and when explaining made it seem like the ducts will all fall apart that day if we didn't agree. So I said to myself...hmm, that seems high. So I got another quote from another company and it was 10k less for the same work. Now, I feel the plumbing we paid for was overpriced and also makes me think they take advantage of people. I think they do excellent work don't get me wrong but I feel 100% they will always quote on the very high end and gauge the pricing at the same time. It doesn't sit right with me one bit, unless you have to get someone that fast I would say stay away from this company. As many commercials as they have on tv talking about family, they should be ashamed of themselves. That is one family I would not want to be apart of.

Called MJ to come out to replace push-pull valve after I bought laundry room sink to replace old one.  After getting long spiel to set up monthly service on HVAC to get special discount and rate on plumbing repair I declined that ( I was supposed to call Brothers, who put in our HVAC system and got confused and call MJ by mistake.)  decided to let them come out and take a look.  95 dollars to hear them state that they could not hook up sink without replacing valve.  Then the 1k quote to do so came next.   1000.00 dollars?  To change out valve?    Sorry,  they are very friendly, customer driven but has always been way too expensive and pushes the service way too much.  That is why we decided to go with Brothers on HVAC.     Sorry for the bad review but others need to know before calling them and feeling pressured to pay.  Should have gotten a waiver on the diagnostic fee since we have spent plenty  of money over years on service with them.   Never again.

Great response and great service! Technician knows his work.
Called MJ out for a main line drain issue. My doubts arrived when when the service plan sell came into play more than a few times during the assessment of our situation. My head could not comprehend the hard sell of a maintenance service plan taking precedence over our issue at the moment of our plumbing problem. For this MJ lost an almost $6K quoted repair. Still, the $77 drain cleanout was well worth the one time cost and we really like the tech who came out and did the work.

We did have our repairs completed with another plumber who was focused on repairing our pipe from the moment he got out of his truck. No sell. No frills. Just business between a customer with a broken pipe and another plumbing company that did a great job.

I called them today as a 1st time customer to help troubleshoot why the house wasn't cooling to the desired temperature.  They arrived same day within a few hours (calling ahead with eta).  Fixed it in an hour or so, inspected the rest of the system.  I was so impressed with Jeremy that I signed up for their twice annually service program with auto-pay monthly to my credit card.  Highly recommend, great job exceeding expectations!

Called 2 weeks ago, air went out, tech come out and poked around in the unit for a while, really not doing anything, then tells me he thinks it's a pressure switch, the unit came on  with us standing there, and he said, ok it's good now, after doing nothing. Air goes out again this past weekend, and same tech came out, pulled panels off and said, you need a whole unit, estimate of 10 to 12 grand... So from a pressure switch to a whole unit in less than 2 weeks.. hahahaha this place is a joke... Beware of this place, if they tell you something.. get another quote...  O by the way, got my unit fixed for 250.00..

Brandon K. Delivered great quality service for my regular heat maintenance. He was very knowledgeable and when I asked him a question about our outdated baseboard heat, he had no issue inspecting it, but also had no issue double checking with a supervisor to make sure it was correct (these are old and outdated and harder to come by these days) which as a customer I was so happy about. The next weekend, morris-jenkins sent out Will F. to answer some more questions and help us disconnect our outdated basement heat. After speaking with will he gave us some great options for replacing in the future. We are so lucky to be part of Morris-jenkins priority advantage family. My hvac and plumbing systems are running in tip top shape with them in charge. Brandon also made sure to show our pup some attention while he was here too.  Shelby gives him 5 stars for belly rubs! Thank you Morris-jenkins for continuing to hire great people!

Very disappointed.  Very nice guy Seth came in a quick time and seemed dependable but only wanted to sale us a new unit.  So when we said we wanted to fix ours he quickly changed to us texting him  for answers. He said he could order parts but never could give a time when parts would arrive. I have asthma and 3 elderly dogs with health problems it is the hottest week of the year so far. 2 days later told us he couldn't get the parts but could put in a new one.  Now we had to schedule with someone else so now 5 days without air in our home.  Terrible customer service!!!!

Air conditioning did not work, quick and flexible response . Quote was defected part , needed to replaced under warranty, however a 2 person job that would be 4-5 hours. $2,500 quote and said they would rather go high than low. Asked for a deposit. Once part  came in they came out. 1 person and 1 1/2 hours later. Had to call to get a $250 discount. So $2,250for 1 1/2 hours work. They did add 12 pounds of Freon.

Stay FAR away they are scam artists.  I had my routine maintenance Monday and before my tech even looked at the unit stated that my Lennox unit is notorious for evaporator coil leaks.   He does his service and shows me a video of when he was in the attic of a leak detector going off and that it is only in warranty for one more month so need to replace it for $1600.  He supplied me with an invoice stating my refrigerant charge was on the low side 26 and high side 65.
I had another company come check to get a second quote and was told the numbers he supplied were not even possible and he checked the entire unit and there was no leak at all.   Also my warranty runs until 2027!
I have cancelled my priority service and am awaiting a service manager to contact me.   Would have been out $1600 if I hadn't had another set of eyes on this.   Completely disgusted with this company.

So bad it warrants a second review.

I mentioned in my earlier review how Morris-Jenkins said I needed to buy a new unit and because of the locations of my vents, my AC would never get below 75.

So in order to sleep at night, I had to get a portable air conditioner that I could wheel from room to room while I was waiting out the summer heat and saving the 10k they told me it would cost to replace my unit. Turns out, the problem was fixed with a shop vac and $60 in new filters.

To the Morris-Jenkins rep who is going to immediately comment on this:
1. Thank you for your sincere apology
2. I already emailed your customer service dept. and i'm guessing there's a backlog of complaints and mine is now at the bottom
3. No, I don't want you to make this situation right with my HVAC unit. It's already fixed and I don't want any of your techs near my home.

Morris Jenkins has come to our house multiple times over the past few years due to plumbing back ups. Each time they have snaked the drain and looked through it with the camera. They were never able to pinpoint the exact issue aside from a slight backpitch at some undetermined location. They first said it looked to be in front of the porch. They recommended we put in an over $3k clean out that would fix the problem or at least eliminate backups in the house. The next time, they said the issue must be in the yard and we needed to replace all of the sewer line in the yard. Then they said it must be under the porch and we needed to replace the line from under the porch to the street. Most recently, they said the entire line from under the house to the street needed to be replaced and gave us an outrageous quote. They didn't even fix the clog this time but claimed the water wasn't flowing because water must've been piling up at the end of the pipe, which made no sense. They also said that because the water line is in the same trench as the sewer, they would likely hit it and we needed to go ahead and pay them to replace the entire waterline as well. Another company came out and used their camera and easily determined that there were roots growing into the pipe (and showed us the camera photos) and located the backpitch location. The problematic section of the piping was replaced for a reasonable price - all without damaging the water line. Morris Jenkins uses a lot of cheesy sales tactics but I would never ever ever use them again. We heard four different stories from them over two years as to the same ongoing problem, which they were never able to properly identify or offer a reasonable solution - and they would've charged us a ridiculous price.

We have been priority advantage customers for the three years that we have lived in North Carolina. They've been very good about responding to AC issues or service. But they seriously lack following through on the details. Last time we had our AC drain cleared. he accidentally had some insulation draped over the pan and it wicked all the water out onto our drywall ceiling. It's been about three months now. I've called half a dozen times gotten nowhere. My recommendation is stay away from Morris Jenkins.

My review is based on what is commonly called Dirty Sock Syndrom I bought a new heating and A/C unit in 2018 from Morris Jenkins and after the first year I started to smell a bad odor when I first change over from the heater to AC and vice versa.   I have to wait a day or so for the smell to leave the house. I might add that I did buy an Air Scrubber when they installed the unit and even that keeps burning out. I have gone through four Air Scrubbers since then and no one can tell me why they keep burning out. Each time I ask the Teck to talk to a supervisor and each time I get the run-around or he's not available. My old unit never smelled like this, so why does my new one smell? So now I am stuck with new smelly Heating and AC unit that can't be fixed. I am going to drop Morris Jenkins and call someone else to service my unit!!

Rip off! I cannot believe this company is in business. A/C went out, called MJ and set up an appt. for the $90 service call. Tech arrived on time, did his inspection. Diagnosed that it was the starter kit. Said it would cost an additional $400 to replace it. I decided to get a second opinion. Had a local company come out the same day. They diagnosed it in 5 mins. It was a $20 capacitor. He fixed it for $100 service call + $20 part. If you care about your money go somewhere else!!

Funny, I get a generic response. Same one they did for google. You know you are over priced, hope your customers realize it.

Morris Jenkins is a rip off! Huge rip off! Was quoted $590 for duct work on my house. Plus the crazy $89 diagnostic fee. Had an HVAC contractor come out and fix the whole issue for $80. Beware! Huge scammers

Everyone run far away from Morris-Jenkins! These guys are price gougers. They charged me $600 to replace a capacitor, and when asked about the price, said warranty is included. Now, I looked online, and professional grade HVAC capacitors run around $100 range at most. So $500 for a 1 year warranty? Sheesh

Also... this did not fix the main issue which was my downstairs HVAC wasn't even working. They wanted to charge me an additional $600+ for replacing a faulty HVAC actuator/dampener. I think I'm carrying my business elsewhere and will spread the word to the whole community and neighboring ones of the crappy price gauging company that is Morris Jenkins.

Now that I think about it, for all of that work, I'm halfway to the cost of a new HVAC unit... go figure...

Another contractor cut the main water pipe coming into my house. I didn't have a plumber that I trust so...Call Morris Jenkins. Yes, the commericals are cheesy. But today they lived up to the advertising. Everything from the first phone call to the final walk through of the repair was absolutely stunning. The plumber was EARLY, assessed the problem, fixed it, SHOWED me the fix in *detail,* advised me on what other after-issues I may run into. All in about an hour. 10/10 plumbing, will plumber again.

The company is very greedy, we cancelled our service today, the tech's they send out are made to up sell their products. REALLY!!!  They wanted 218.00 $ to change a drain stopper in our bathroom sink. The tech said The prices are in my book, I'll show you. He did have a book and it listed the price. Their prices, the company has no goodwill, Mr. Jenkins how much is enough money, before you understand   we are all struggling, take your business to South Park. I will explain to everyone I know what type business you own. Your techs are wonderful you are not.

They had the part and was there to fix it at 11PM July 3rd and they got my AC up and running.

That's where the good ends. Charged me 1200 for 400 in parts (maybe) and one hour labor. There was a question of whether I needed a new unit or not. Was told that would be 10-17k. WHAT IN THE WORLD. This place is a ripoff and I will not use again. Only reason I did not tell the tech to kick rocks was I was in a hurry to get this fixed and did not want to wait for another.

Shop around they are expensive!

We called Morris Jenkins out because our upstairs unit stopped working. They came out and did an inspection. Morris Jenkins determined the fan, motor, and starter needed to be replaced. Then the R22 may not charge, which would result in a complete replacement. Our a/c is an older unit, but they said a repair or stop gap was not possible. Hen they quoted 3 price levels after rebates and discounts. $9-$10, and $12 thousand dollars. Really?
I said thanks but no thanks and called more companies. It is worth the additional fee for another company to cross check their schemes. A/C was on within 30 minutes of the inspection from another company. Starter needed replaced and cost $200. I will not name the other company because I don't the reader to assume this is a pitch for competition. Do not use these scam artists.

We had a leak in our ceiling in the bathroom they were prompt and coming out right away. However they put a hole in our ceiling and told us that it is not a plumbing or pipe issue and that we needed to call a roofer and it must be rainwater well the leak persists even when it's not raining we get a roofer who comes in and says the roof has no problem but he has found a problem with a pipe. Do not trust this company they will come out charge you to tell you that there's nothing they can do and ignore glaring issues that they are supposed to be fixing.

We were able to get someone out the same day as our request, which is not the norm these days.  They also had many flexible time options, even evening appointments.  Plumber arrived in the correct time window.  He was very professional.  He diagnosed the problem, after discussing our water use with us, and gave us options with pricing up front to fix the problem.   Repair was done right away.  Smooth, painless procedure.  Highly recommended.

The only positive I can think of is the tech came quickly.

After he arrived, he took a walk around my house, using his infrared thermometer to check my vents. Then he looked at the unit in the backyard and came back with Well, I think because of the way your vents are positioned in your house, you aren't getting cool air. If I were you, I would start saving 10 grand now to replace that unit.

A month later, I had a local handy man come out to do some other work and I asked him to check out my AC. He said he didn't know AC systems well, but he could do basic cleaning. He pulled open the intake vent, reached in and found some debris from our renovation was blocking access to the AC unit. He pulled out the debris, replaced the filters and within an hour, my temperature dropped 10 degrees.

To go from planning to spend $10k on a new unit (which, btw, are more like 3 grand. I guess M-J thinks they can charge another $7k for being punctual) to having my problem fixed with $60 in filters and cleaning, was a massive weight off my shoulders. If given the choice of having no heating/air or hiring Morris-Jenkins to come out again, I would rather sit in a sauna/icebox than give them another dime.

As relieved as I feel now that I don't have to spend 10 grand on a new unit, I still regret paying Morris-Jenkins the $90 consult fee (which, you have to pay for them to leave your house. I thought I was going to get an invoice and pay that but his words were I can't leave until you pay me).

I called this company because my hvac system was not working properly. They sent a technician out. The tech said the capacitor was bad. The price to change it was 500 dollars. He also said the compressor needs oil because the capacitor went bad. The price was an additional 300 dollars. Two weeks later a technician from another company told me a capacitor cost around 30 dollars and I should have paid no more than 200 dollars to have it changed. That technician also told me technicians do not service compressors. If it is bad they change it and the 300 dollars to add oil was me being taken advantage of.. I understand they have to pay for advertising, but this is awful. I'll never use them again.

The air conditioner went out and I called these guys to come out and look to see what was wrong with the unit. After looking at it the technician came in and said the unit was old and gave a list of items that needed to be replaced. We were given the option: $4000-$5000 to repair the unit or $20,000-$30,000 for a brand new one.
I then called Someone else to come look at the unit and the total price to repair the unit was $300.
I would give this place a 0 star but no option for that! I will never ever use them again nor tell anyone else too.

After our 2 star review the company said to call and talk to a service supervisor about the charge. I called the number given by the supervisor who replied to the review and the number was an invalid number. So I looked up the number and called the correct one. After a lengthy explanation about my call  to the lady who answered the phone she said she would pass this along to the service supervisor who would take care of you. So Sean called me back in a couple of hours and said  I hear you aren't happy with the charge. I explained in detail the service call, my feelings about the high charge etc. He proceeded to go on and on about the amount of people employed, their warranty and how they must charge more than others to give everyone top notch service. He went further to say we already got the hefty 10% discount and that was all he could do for me. I said so the lady on the phone who told me that you would take care of me meant absolutely nothing, that in fact you're doing exactly nothing at all.  I rest my case. They overcharge. Period. There are other plumbers out there. I just have to find one for the future because it will absolutely not be Morris Jenkins.

There was a short in my A/C unit that was causing my circuit breaker to trip. This means there was simply a wire touching a piece of metal causing a circuit breaker to switch off. The fix was simply to splice the wires back together which simply means reconnecting them by twisting them together.

I was charged 89 USD for the diagnostic which is expected and fair. He found the issue and diagnosed it, but.. I was charged $223 USD to have two wires twisted back together. 4 minutes of labor and 0 parts. $334 USD to have two wires twisted together. Scam?? Numbers speak for themselves here. How can reconnecting 2 loose wires cost $223 USD?!

I subscribed to Morris Jenkins believing it was a reliable and trustworthy business, only to learn that its technicians are scam artists. Early on in the summer, they performed a seasonal check to ensure that there was no problem with our A/C. Both told me that my a/c was about to go out, and that both units would need a part that costs $3000 each. I immediately got homeowner's insurance, which took a period to kick in. When the insurance assigned technician came out, he said the unit only needed freon.  He put freon in the unit and it has worked very efficiently throughout the entire summer (June 2022 - Sept 2022). Prior to taking out home owners insurance, I asked Morris-Jenkins would it accept that particular insurance if the repairs were necessary, and the tech said no. I'm almost certain the insurance company does not deal with them. I will never trust these grimy bas___ds again. Make sure you get a second opinion on any major work they say is needed. Otherwise you might end up getting robbed.

Seniors be wary of this company. Don't let them talk you into expensive repairs without getting a second opinion. I was recently told my heat pump system needed $3500 in repairs. I had another company look over my system and was told that a cap needed closing and it was remedied for $100.  it Makes you wonder. At a minimum I must conclude that Morris Jenkins has incompetent technicians.  I was also told that my gas burning unit contained mold.

I am not sure I'm confident in the honesty of MJ.

Summer of 2018 we needed a starter capacitor replaced on the condenser unit. First time we used MJ. They came out to replace the capacitor and checked the Freon. The tech said when he took off the valve cap, there was a slight leak in the port valve. He tried to fix it, but made it worse, so he replaced the Freon he lost and re-capped it. The tech talked us into a monthly service plan for a discount on that day's visit and two services a year. He noted the lost Freon.

A month or so later they came out to service the AC per the service plan. The tech actually fixed the leaky valve and topped off the Freon. It was all clean and what-not, but the AC never quite performed as well as it had prior to the MJ repair/service - they said the unit was in spec during the service visit.

They come out ~6 months later for the winter service and tell us we have a leaky reversing valve and the repair would be $2200. Our unit being older, we decided to seek replacement. The MJ salesman wanted between $10k and $16k to replace the condenser and evaporator - not the entire furnace/air system.

We sought other estimates for replacement, all of which were between $3400 and $4300 for the same work. We went back with a Trane unit @$4250.

I can't say MJ had anything to do with the rapid decline of our 26 year old Trane AC. I can say that I don't know how they offer any value that justifies double to triple the price for a name brand, quality AC unit. I could have had the entire HVAC replaced in the house with Trane with a lot of money left over for the Morris-Jenkins price.

Our experience as a new customer was disappointing and we are cancelling the $20/month service contract. It was not worth it.

I called Morris Jenkins to connect 2 drains on a new sink that was installed with countertops. I was told they couldn't give me a quote over the phone as the tech had to look at it first although I clearly stated what needed to be done... Unfortunately, most plumbers don't work on Saturday (except mj) and I didn't want to  be stuck with no sink on super bowl Sunday, so I decided to take a chance. I was informed there would be a 86. service charge regardless of whether I had the work done, but I crazily thought that would come out of the repair. Imagine my shock when I was told it would be 875. to do this work! I have received quotes between 275. - 375. For the same work so I'm a little shocked they could jack the price up like that... Apparently this guy was going to replace all the existing pipe and materials I already had so he could warrantythe work??? WTF. Obviously MJ is expensive compared to most other plumbers in the area but supposedly they offer a warranty and I guess they pay there employees well so that's to be commended but sending techs out with no quote, charging you a fee when you say no way to the outrageous price is sort of like a holdup! I ate the 86. and did the work myself in 3 hours... If you can afford em' go for it, but be prepared. And warned!

Have had two very bad experiences with them in the past couple of months. Having been priority advantage member, I used them for plumbing and AC for past few years. Recent plumbing experience technician quoted $700 to sleeve a main drain pipe. Fifteen minutes late he had broken the entire pipe and it was $3,700. All he could say was sorry, I won't charge you for the damage I did.

Next AC came out for annual service, and granted unit is old and I expected the possibility to replace. Technician said it was needed to be replaced, and I asked if it could still be charged with Freon and he quoted $3000 to charge it. Called some manager who got me on the phone to schedule a quote for system replacement. Get on the phone and he wants to schedule someone to call me on phone, not come out!? I said, whatever, just call after 5 Monday. Billy called and didn't ask any info, just said $10,950. So I have four other companies out since and not one quoted more than $4000 LESS than Morris Jenkins. I think they are actually a rip off and would advise anyone to avoid them.

It was a very hot summer day when my AC unit's capacitor decided to give out. My wife and son were complaining about the heat once the AC stopped flowing.

A Morris-Jenkins tech came out and openly told me that the capacitor was worth $10-15 dollars, but I'd have to pay $350 for installation. I hesitated but didn't know if I'd be able to find the capacitor locally that same day, so I reluctantly told him to go ahead. That's on me.

My wife went up one side of me and down the other for wasting so much money on such a simple job, and she's right. I hated myself for it, but got over it. Now I just hate Morris-Jenkins, and I'll never get over THAT. I have them permanently blacklisted. NOTHING will make me use them again, EVER. There's gouging, and then there's gouging.

I woke up to a freezing house and had great difficulty getting someone to show up.  To their credit, Morris Jenkins showed up later than morning.  From that point on, it was a slick, hard sell that took full advantage of the fact that my house was cold.  My furnace was 25 years old, so no surprise it would need repair or replacement - but I truly feel like I was robbed in terms of the pricing and unit that was installed.  For over $7,000 I ended up with a no-name furnace that was their middle option on the sales slide.  Yes, heat was on later that day - but don't find yourself in my situation.  Based on estimates from friends and colleagues in non-emergency situations, I am sure I overpaid by $2,000.

I don't know where to start than other than i feel sscammed, disappointed and dirty. I believed the sweet man in the commercials and saw good  google rating. I never thought to check yelp which is the only real rating system. Long story short, MJ came out to check my ac/ heat pump and told me it was bad. They could fix it it for 1k but probably wouldn't last. My wife and I made a life changing decision to trust them and replace it with them for $12k.  Holy moly it hurt. In December when it got cold we noticed our gas ran out in  no time   It never runs out much because heat pump never fails over unless it's below 32 degrees. I call MJ to find out what was wrong with thermostat. They said oh, you have a separate unit now, not a heat pump. What???  Not only that, they said it would help to upgrade to a programmable thermostat. Even my last jack leg ac company provided nest units.

I don't usually fall for scam companies but I did this time. I just feel like an idiot. Please do your research and go with word of mouth over internet ratings. Ive talked to two friends since that had the same experience with Mr  Jenkins and will not even call them back to service the units. Sad but I guess that is the current scam environment

Thanks for nothing

o The flame in my water heater went out ... self-inflicted problem because I turned off the gas to the heater in error.

o Tried to get it back on but the igniter would not spark and thus the pilot light would not come on.

o Short-term, needed the flame lit manually by opening up the 'window' and lighting it.

o Morris-Jenkins sent their tech. Arrived on time. But turns out he was more a plumber than a water-heater tech. All he did was exactly what I had done which was click the non-functioning igniter over and over. Then the real strategy came out ... tried over and over to get me to buy a new water heater. I insisted on trying the repair route. He called in and requested a proper technician to come out.

o The second guy did exactly the same thing. Clicked on the igniter over and over. Would not open the 'window' because 'he did not have replacement gaskets'. I found that odd because that ought be something they carry if the do repairs. Also did not have a replacement igniter. Also tried to push for me to buy a whole new heater.

o I paid $94 for this whole interaction.

o Long story short, a friend knows a water heater pro. He came by, opened the window, cleaned the wires and manually lit the flame. Now working
beautifully. All this in under 30 minutes.

o Also, we ordered a new igniter ... $17. Already arrived.

o Morris-Jenkins ... Never again.

Costs you a leg and arm! Over priced, I had them to replace a refrigerator ice maker extension pipe.
Actual labor (including diagnosis) = 20 minutes
Equipment = 4 ft Pipe = $20
Total market cost = $100 - $120

Mr. Jenkins cost = $207

Only go with them if you love paying nearly twice the cost of and reasonable competitors.

Would give them 0 stars if that were an option. I was priority member for longer than I would like to admit. I always dreaded the included service for the AC and heat units because I knew they would find some problem that would cost an enormous amount to repair. On 2 separate occasions I was told that certain repairs were necessary and my units were unsafe. One quote was $5000 and one was $10,000. I had second opinions for both jobs and was told there was no problem at all and everything was working fine. I have cancelled my priority membership and will never call them again. All they do is look to gouge you make you feel that there is no other option. Do not go with this company there are many better options out there.

NO STARS!  Unfortunately, we learned that Morris Jenkins was grossly overcharging us for the job by over 50%.  Daily for a week after that quote for $10,000.00+ for a re-pipe for a 1,300 sq ft house, I asked for an invoice for all that we were quoted.  I called and emailed and called and emailed.  I kept getting the runaround.  I never received an invoice, so we never accepted the job.  We were coming from my Mother's emergency cancer surgery and in recovery, so we were anxious to get this done.   They saw two black ladies, one a lady of a certain age in recovery and took advantage of our vulnerability.

We had them replace an old bathtub and tile surround.  Should have done my homework.  Ended up being way more expensive than other groups would have charged.  They created much more damage to the walls than necessary.  When I talked to the main office, all I got was according to our contract, we are not responsible for damage done to walls.  The damage they did was unnecessary.  Lesson learned...will do my homework next time!

Morris-Jenkins will drain your bank account gently, gently. Or quickly. I did not find that they did anything unethical but their prices are much higher than I was able to find elsewhere and they quoted me a price a thousand dollars more than what in ultimately fixed the problem for. I guess they have to pay for those commercials somehow. The TL;DR here is that you should avoid MJ and find a local good ole boy to handle your HVAC needs.

The business model is apparently based on being very responsive, having people available at all hours, and selling homeowners as much work as the homeowner will agree to. My story was as follows:  One floor of my home was not cooling so I called them bc of the commercials. A provider came and was polite and professional. I paid the diagnostic fee and was told one of my ducts had come off so it needed to be re attached and also that some other leaks would be patched. Great. Sure thing. It was about $200 total and things worked again for another 5 days. I also signed up for the monthly plan and cleanings since the price was the same either way bc of discounts they gave me for signing up.

This is where things went wrong. When the same problem re emerged I called MJ and told them I needed someone to come out again. It was Friday at 8 pm and they said someone could be there at 10 pm. Impressive! But I didn't need it that urgently so said come on Saturday. The woman told me there would be another diagnostic fee. I pushed back since it was clear to me that after a year in the home with no problems and two failures within 7 days, it was all one problem and the previous technician had failed to properly diagnose it. After some back and forth she said if it was an issue the prior tech should have caught I wouldn't be charged. I said if you charge me a diagnostic fee for doing what you should have done the first time you are fired. And then she said here is what I can do for you. This time we can waive the fee. As if she was doing me a favor.
It struck a bad tone for sure.

The tech arrived and lo and behold I needed a new control board for $1100 or so and either one damper motor changed for $400 or both for $600 or so. It was around $1750 in work when all was said and done. Obviously I'm not going to approve giving them $1700 after just giving them $200 for a repair that didn't do the job.

So I used Yelp to solicit quotes from other hvac providers. Two came out and I did not share with them what MJ had diagnosed the problem as.
Both told me there was a damper motor problem. I chose one and then revealed what MJ had told me about the motors and control board. He said replacing both motors was unnecessary and they should be replaced as they broke. He also said it's rare for the motors to fail at the same time the control board does so we should do the cheaper fix and see where things stand. He then replaced my damper motor for $300 or so. Things worked great for 10 days and then the opposite floor of my house wasn't cooling while the originally problematic one was. The man returned and found that it was indeed a control board problem (as I said, I don't think MJ did anything unethical here). He didn't have the part so manually opened my dampers so my house would be cool. A week later he returned with the part and replaced it for $425. That was a month ago and things have been okay since. Ultimately he and his son who he works with achieved the same result MJ promised for $1750 for only $750.

In conclusion, I recommend you find an honest good ole boy small businessman before giving your money to a business like MJ who has all these commercials to pay for.

PS I won't name who the HVAC company is who helped me bc I don't want this to look like an advertisement but if you are curious you can see my other reviews on Yelp and figure it out.

I should have read the reviews first. Most of them reference high prices.
Friday July 2, I noticed water dripping under my house. Morris Jenkins tech came out Trip charge was $89 or repair quote was $365 and no trip charge (yeh right)
Holiday weekend coming and no water. I recently had injury not allowing me to access under my house. So against my better judgement and not wanting to waste  $89 trip charge fee. I said ok.     The issue was a tee connecting the pipes had gone bad, at most $5.00 at Lowes. The Tee was replaced and the Tech found another one and replaced it as well. Then found another one and asked me if I wanted him to replace it. Stupid me I figured as long as he was there. Well I got charged another $365. I had heard several years ago about Pex pipe and fittings going bad and that was what the tech told me was happening. The tech did a good job and only spent a hour at the most so I have no complaint about his work and his honesty.  But $720 for a hours work and his driving time which is only less than 40 minutes. Basically charging me 600 dollars an hour. That is on Morris Jenkins. Two hours after they left another pipe fitting broke and no water again. This time my 19 year old son who knows nothing about plumbing went to Lowes and replaced two more fittings. It cost $ 10 dollars. Again the tech did a good job but the company is giving the tech's a bad name.  They also gave me a quote for replacing all the pipes under the house $6000  - $8000 + . Cost of a good used car or a really nice down payment on a new house or two brand new refrigerators.  I'm not saying the pipes don't need replaced. Maybe yes maybe no. but I will research that first but mainly because its Morris Jenkins saying I need it done. If they pay there tech's $100 per hour ????? Don't think that much. That still leaves Morris Jenkins a $500 profit for one job. What I see on other posted reviews is A joke Rip off Bad Experience Cost you an arm and a leg On and on. Over 75% of the reviews are negative and mostly regarding their cost.  My fault I guess when you retire you have to be a lot more careful that $720 is close to half what I make on Social Security in a month. Shame on me ! Shame on them! I did call to talk to a supervisor no return call yet.

Do not use this company! If I could give no stars, I would. Total rip off.  Tried to charge us over $1,000 for a simple repair. After hearing the price, we went elsewhere. I'm sorry we called them and never will again. We are telling everyone we know not to use them.

This company takes advantage of people and they are very greedy. My unit was way overpriced and they also lied to me and stated an engineer was coming to my home and it was actually a salesman. Save thousands of dollars and don't use this despicable company. They will steal from you.

Unprofessional rep and exorbitant prices. I requested quotes for (a) replacing an evaporator coil for a heat pump and the alternative (b) replacing the unit. The sales rep disparaged the equipment I had and gave me a price for the repair almost twice what I was getting from 3 others. Said that in their experience what I had installed (top of the line when I installed them ) was no good when I had no problems for 12 and 15 years for the two units. This is a cheap and clueless trick that only the most unprofessional sales team would use.
Edit: In reply to the manager below, I do due diligence and get more than one quote so that doesn't bother me, it's the fact that the people you send out are not trained to deal with the intelligent customer, and that reflects on your company. Oh, and he never sent the written quote for the equipment that he promised to e-mail

Please stay away from these crooks; they try to sell you on everything up and take advantage of your lack of knowledge; read all these reviews. I speak from experience as a former priority advantage customer who was taken advantage of when they first moved to NC and had NO knowledge of heat pumps (had 3 of them). Remember those fake corny commercials and fancy new trucks are not paid for by those Nice $89 Safety checks upsell is what always do! STAY AWAY!

I am pretty disappointed in Morris Jenkins. Their sales and service rates are off the roof even for priority advantage customers like myself. I had requested an estimate from them for one of our AC unit upstairs that had Freon leaks. The sales person who came to my place - Dennis Mackins was very gimmicky and Pushy and did not appear to be honest about the options and packages that MJ has to offer. How about a professional typed quote via email with all the options, Model # and tonnage clearly stated, this is the least you can expect from an HVAC company..

The quote handwritten did not even specify if it was for just AC or the full Furnace. When I called the MJ customer service # and they told me that Dennis would call me back clarifying the quote but never received the call back.

Their service charges are through the roof for repairs for e.g., Freon is $260/Lb while other contractors offer the Freon at $149/lb, so this is clear case of way over charging by Morris Jenkins.

Based on the information and details I now have from multiple other providers in Charlotte, I realized that Morris Jenkins just overcharges their customers on all of their service and their estimates for AC lacks the transparency compared to other HVAC contractors..

Loved that they showed up with a mask and shoe protectors. This is very important to me due to Covid. They showed up when they said they would and took the time to thoroughly explain what was wrong with my system. They provided several options and answered all my questions. I am now a Priority Advantage member and will call MJ for all my heating, AC and plumbing needs!

The estimate that I got to replace both my air and heating systems was 2 1/2 times the amount of other estimates for the same work.  Really, MJ?????    When I asked to have a copy of the estimate I was told that I could get an email copy only - and you guessed it - 2 days has gone by and no copy of the estimate.
Shame on you MJ - the fun marketing and commercials only go so far!
I wouldn't be confident on having them be part of my heating and air conditioning needs for years to come - I think the only goal they have is dipping into your pockets.....

I would give 0 stars if that was an option. Worst and most overpriced company out there. If you are rich and want to get rid of a lot of money quick call Morris Jenkins. They are a total rip off. If you don't have any problems with your heat and air you will if you use them. They will make something wrong with it.
That's how they make their money and able to pay for all those commercials.
I had them out to clean my unit and was told that I needed a part replaced. I let them replace the part and they wired it wrong and burnt up the fan motor. They charged me 335.00 for a 10.00 part.
I had to get someone else to replace the motor because they wanted 750.00 for a 80.00 part.
Rip off at it best.
I would not recommend them to anyone
I definitely will never use them again !!!

Utter crooks, I have a rental property in North Carolina and unfortunately at the time I lived in Virginia. They advertise a low rate to come out and then to fix a clogged toilet and put a new wax seal on it and reset the toilet they charged me $896.61.  They weren't there one hour.  Very deceptive and misleading marketing!

They completely overcharge, use scare tactics and pushy sales to get that commission. They said that my system was old and not able to be repaired, they then quoted me $10,000 for a new system for my smaller home. They said that if they were to repair it, it would be more to do so that buying a new system.

I called someone else and they fixed it for $200.00. All it needed was refrigerant...

My system is such that it pumps sewage to the street. One day my toilet wouldnt flush (not clogged). Someone came out and wailed on the toilet with no result. Finally I diagnosed the problem, and we located the fuse box (relatively new home for me) and there was a tripped breaker. Flipped the switch and all was good. The problem happened again. When they came out I was told I needed a new control box (2800.00) I asked if it was the circuit breakers (nope) Installed the new control box, a week later the toilet wouldnt flush, tripped breaker. Anyone with common sense should see the issue with this. Called the company extremely politely and detailed the issue. The plumbing manager offered me 500.00 and justified it by saying we should have checked the breakers and thats what a normal cost would be to replace them. Umm no, that doesnt work for me. So the customer relations person Sam called me. I was courteous and said I dont want something for free, I am getting a brand new pump, so please refund me half and we will call it a day. Sam went on to describe how heat can cause wear on a breaker, and there was a picture of the old control box with a missing screw. So their point of view was it was the control box still. Exasperated I said to Sam, you know what I give up, please just refund me the $500.00. Sam refused and basically said that offer had expired and seemed to challenge that I was even speaking the truth as the $500.00 offer wasnt in his notes. I responded for him to ask his guy and if his guy says he didnt offer it then they dont have to pay me. Sam circled back around to describing why it was the control box. Eventually I told Sam this was not satisfactory and I would be letting people know about the service. Like a little child Sam apprised me he would not respond to the pressure of threats I have had other work done by this company. I put a split in my garage, and the first time we tried to use it , it never worked and the repair person told me it was leaking Freon (into my garden) That was repaired, then the heat didnt work, The guy came out basically told me it should have been installed differently, and would take hours to heat my garage. So Sam save your 500.00. I am sure I will be calling you to repair something that is under warranty soon that is screwed up. -RogerLangille

I learned something that shocked me - Morris Jenkins repair techs make commissions on any parts/new systems they sell! I absolutely couldn't believe that. That simply invites unethical behavior.
End of story. I first posted this on Facebook and had a large number of responses of example potential ripoffs by MJ (thankfully, in most cases, my Facebook friends requested a second recommendation and learned they needed much less work than MJ tried to up-sell to them!) I then posted it to NextDoor (14k people!) and received TONS of negative examples. I can't figure out how they are still in business? I guess because of their dumb commercials?

I'll give them one star because their people are nice and show up when they say they will.

I've had two experiences with Morris Jenkins. There will be no more.

Experience #1: Probably about 5 years ago as a Priority Advantage customer. When the technician inspected my air conditioner or furnace, they recommended replacing parts to the tune of about $600. I told them no thanks, I'd replace them if they broke. Well, 5 years later, no repairs have been needed on them. I did not renew the contract after the visit.

Experience #2: shortly before Thanksgiving this year, I bought a new gas range and needed it connected. I had trouble finding an available plumber, so I called Morris Jenkins figuring they would charge me a little more than the last plumber I hired 2 years ago for $99. The technician briefly surveyed it and went to his van. Wjen he came back, the price quoted to me was $451 - almost as much as the range itself!!! I literally lost my breath for a second I was so stunned at this outrageous quote. I had to pay $89 for their miserable estimate. I subsequently called Benjamin Franklin plumbers. Unlike the MJ tech, this technician did a good job checking out everything - wanted to make sure I had the proper pressure, located my pressure reducing valve and checked the gas pipe,  and replaced the flexible connector pipe for a much more reasonable $229.

Buyer beware!

We all know the catchy commercials touting employment equality, late nights fixing HVAC systems for their beloved customers, the company you can trust, and blah, blah, blah. Well, I feel a little like I just had a visit in my home from a slimy car salesman or a perverted gynocologist.
We are Morris Jenkins Advantage Members and called to have our 2nd yearly HVAC service/maintenance to bring it in gennnnntly--we just had a Morris Jenkins tech out here this winter to bring us in gently with the heating system about 6 months ago. Our service tech arrived right on time, was courteous and of course soooooo friendly, because they are your friend afterall--not a salesman looking to make a fat commission. The tech pets my dog, makes small talk with me, then proceeds to wash our AC unit, flush it, and whatever else they do to bring your HVAC system in gennnntly. An hour later, I am being hit with ma'am you have a low air flow and for about $7,500 Morris Jenkins can change out all the duct work (NOTE: my HVAC system is about 4 years old and we had a full inspection done upon purchasing the house 2 years ago; AND their own tech not 6 months ago told me my system was working perfectly.
Needless to say, my first cup of coffee still not waking me up just quite yet, but a swift verbal punch to the gut, then a slap to the face, and the next minute as I'm still processing everything, I'm on the phone with their next tech who is on his way (THE SAME DAY) to further evaluate the situation.
By the time Tech #2 arrived, I had started to go over everything in my head--inspections, the last service in the winter with no issues, etc,) Regardless, I let Tech#2 do his thing. He goes up in the attic, walks the perimeter of my house, looks at the air intake vents, and says airflow is just fine (huh, but MJ tech#1 said it was no good not an hour ago), but your second intake is missing a filter, never had one. For $12,000 I can redo all your duct work with a sleek inside so it dries well, bring this second intake system into the bedroom where you won't have to get on a stepstool to change the filter, and get rid of excess duct work to increase your efficiency, etc....
Morris Jenkins, you just lost a customer.

Although I have replaced several toilets over the years, I decided that I am getting old and I didn't want to spend all day doing the job.  So I arranged for Morris Jenkins to do it and they sent someone the next day.  (It was not an emergency.)  Jared Davis arrived on time to replace my toilet.  He accomplished the job quickly and efficiently.  And because the bolts securing the bowl to the PVC ring had rusted, he used a cordless oscillating tool to cut the bolts free without damaging the PVC ring.  (There's no telling how badly I would have botched that.)  Mr. Davis cleaned up after himself, left the bathroom floor cleaner than it was when he arrived, and took away all the trash.  Note:  I used the Morris Jenkins app to schedule the visit and it worked great.  Overall - A great experience.

My air wasn't cooling correctly so I had Morris-Jenkins come out. I was able to get an appointment the next day. They came within their four hour window. The guy was very thorough but treated me like I was incompetent. I would have appreciated a little more professionalism. It also seemed like they were just trying to up-sell me on items.

Update: I had a second and third opinion come. They both disagreed with a lot of what Morris-Jenkins said. In retrospect, it seems like Morris-Jenkins tried to scare me on their original visit to sign with them immediately. The service supervisor did email me about this review to try to remedy the situation. I followed up, but have get to hear back. Please take caution when dealing with them. I really recommend a second or third opinion!

HVAC upstairs went out late summer, dispatcher was pleasant and technician sent out late afternoon. So far so good, technicianwas friendly, put on booties b4 enter our home. This is when things went South, tech entered our upstairs crawl space, came back down stairs, sat with my wife telling her, unit has ceased up, ideally should be replaced $5-7k, no guarentees but he could likely get u it started by replacing a$1500 part.  We declined as the unit is maybe 4 years old.  My neighbor is a certified HVAC and asked him when he got home to take a look.

So apparently when i replaced tripped breaker  The upstairs thermostat i must have tripped unit.  ***heres where things get disturbing, there is a cut off switch in attic so tech doesnt have to go all the way to garage for breaker.    Morris Jenkin tech, flipped switch off, and had the nerve to try and scamus out of big money.   He was the only one who entered the attic, this was a blatant attempt to scam my wife, he flipped the cut off switch as soon as the switch was flipped back on, viola the  unit came back up, 3 months now and not a single issue. Shame on this company!!!Avoid at all costs..

Morris-Jenkins will screw you over gennntttlly. So I called them to check out my two units which in turn, according to them, were no good. Now before the tech gave me this news he offered to sign me up for the advantage plan which gives me a discount on services blah blah.
Fast forward to me needing new units, I can't afford to replace at the time. So since I have no a/c I don't need to use an advantage plan. I call to cancel and they tell me I need to keep the plan for 6 months or pay a $151 cancellation fee. WTF??? Nobody told me that when they signed me up. It's a racquet. I do not recommend Morris-Jenkins for anything. Bad business.

Worst service I have ever received from a heating and plumbing company. After being 2.5 hours late, the technician came into our house with an attitude, told us it would cost double the quoted price  for a standard inspection and then went out to make a phone call and left without telling us or performing any work. We further called customer support and they said they need to reach to a supervisor prior to providing any resolution and refund. The supervisor has yet to call us back. Horrible service!

It appears with Morris Jenkins sales is obviously a huge part of the technicians job.  I say this because they're always pushing repairs on the customer.  I bought into their game at first, but every trip to my home equaled a repair.  After leaving Morris Jenkins my new Hvac company never finds anything wrong with my system.  So don't fall for this company's garbage.  But it all makes sense though.  Somebody has to pay for their goofy commercials.  Also, they'll video your system exposing the problem they're claiming is wrong.  Now that I look back at it, I wonder if what I was shown was even my home.  I just have very little trust for Morris Jenkins.  Save your money and go with someone else!

I'd like to make others aware of Morris Jenkins's supposedly priority service contract.. The sales pitch is that you will move to the top of the line to shorten waiting time if you ever should need their service. We tried scheduling for one of their two offered routine service checks and when the scheduled date arrived we received a call stating the service person couldn't come because the weather was changing and people's heating systems were breaking do  and they were behind and could't get here until 8:00 pm. for a 4:00  pm appointment. When tried to reschedule appointment  it was pushed  forward to two weeks into the future. Also when the technician came to service unit two weeks later. He said we needed to replace the hard start  and relay  on the system at a tune of 500.00. When asked if that included the discount offered as a priority member. The technician said yes without showing me what the price and labor would have been without the discount. It took the technician five minute- ten minutes to replace the part at a cost of 500.00. I feel ripped off by this company and have severed my ties with them. Buyers beware'. Zack Little

Our AC unit had a bad wire that needed to be replaced. The 2 guys put in a small conduit from the attic to the outside unit and pulled a new wire. It took them an hour and 15 minutes. It cost us almost $1900!! Apparently they charge a flat rate so it doesn't matter if it takes 10 minutes or 10 days. Just be well aware of this policy before you consent to any work.

Thank goodness y'all sent technician Chris Cabana to repair our Trane AC unit.  As Priority Advantage members, we were pleased he came out the same day.  After an in-depth evaluation of our HVAC system, Chris discovered the problem: a bad ground.  So happy that Chris' entire visit was covered fully by our warranty.  Great job Chris, our diagnostic super sleuth!

Called to have them come out for ac service after seeing a special. Did not realize that it was per unit so ended up much more than I thought. Only did one unit and told me the other one had a leak and system needed to be replaced so they did not do the work. I did not argue because the guy was rude so I called someone else out to look at it. They recharged the unit and it's been running fine for the last year- no issue. I have had Morris out a few times and always feel the are trying to sell me something. Don't trust them and after a few times now- I won't call them again.

Scam. Artists. We used Morris Jenkins to repair our HVAC system back in June of 2020 I had seen their adds and bought into their Priority Advantage system hook line and sinker. The first trip out to clean our AC unit was fine and I will say positive. Then it came time for our furnace inspection. I was late in scheduling and had run our furnace several times already leading up to our check on November 30 2020 with no issues at all. The tech showed up on time for the maintenance check and promptly went to work. After performing all his checks, roughly 30-45 minutes, the tech came down from the attic and said he was going to put his tools up and then come back to go over the report. Upon coming back in the tech begins to explain that my system is old (true is is 16 years old) and that he found rust on the heat exchanger, biological growth in the air handler, and leaking oil on the blower motor. He then assumingely hands me a pricing sheet with options on it. The cheapest option was to replace the heat exchanger to the tune of $2,935 (that's INCLUDING the priority discount) the most expensive option came to $5,242 (with the discount) and included a new heat exchanger, blower motor, cleaning, and air purifier. I informed the tech that I would not be doing any of those options at this time. He disbelievingly looked at me and deployed a scare tactic stating, well, it's a safety issue and when your carbon monoxide detectors go off you need to leave. This statement shook me and we didn't run the heat the remainder of that night until another company came out to look at the system. Turns out that my furnace does has some minor rust forming on the heat exchanger, and does have some dust on the blower motor but is 100% perfectly safe at this point in time and all issues noted are typical of a 16 year old unit. Since we had another company out we asked them to quote a replacement furnace, their pricing for an ENTIRE new Trane furnace was $3,700 installed or $4,700 for an upgraded variable speed unit. (Incase you weren't paying attention that's roughly the SAME as Morris Jenkins repair).  It's also worth noting that Morris Jenkins doesn't disclose what brands they use (I suspect because they are low tier brands). Needles to say I found out how Mr. Jenkins can afford all the prime time adds and Panthers sponsorship. Stay far away from this company not only do they deploy dirty sales tactics but they're also SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than other HVAC companies.

I should have read and believed the reviews!!

Morris -Jenkins is almost illegal and certainly not ethical. They charged nearly $100 to visit and determine the issue. They never follow-up with the diagnosis, which was assumed they would from the scheduler.
But the real issue is what I read after having them come is they are scammers and over charge. They wanting $1200 to fix my HVAC. I determined on my own it was a blower motor on the HVAC and google states 300 to $500 to fix!!  I bought a motor and fixed it for less than $250. Morris Jenkins wanted $1000 to install a motor!!  They are unethical and should be avoided.

They were nice enough to come out at 10pm, but that's where the niceness stopped.  They told me a part needed to be replaced in the AC unit that was 2 years old but that it wasn't worth their time to file the warranty and I would need to pay full price of $511.  I offered to pay $250 for their 15 minutes of labor and they left without fixing the unit.  Terrible ethics and customer service.

I hate to be the dissenter here but I must be honest.  Called Morris Jenkins for a service call, to be fair I am not a priority advantage customer but they came our promptly.  Thomas, our Tech was very nice and stayed at our house for roughly 3.5 hours.  He performed the service required, I think but came down with a list of recommendations which ended with me booking a comfort consultant appointment for a new unit which would cost between $8500 - $11,000.  He basically spent time telling me how my units were in horrible shape and that for what it costs to fix everything that's wrong he would just recommend a full replacement.  He even showed me pictures on his cell phone of my rusty coils as back up.

Since I'm not too jumpy on spending between $17,000 & $22,000 on new units I called for a second opinion.  I went to a more local company.  When the second opinion was rendered I find out that even though the coils were rusty they were still fine and all I really needed was a charge of refrigerant and a replaced motor at 1/10th of what it would have cost from Morris Jenkins and I didn't feel dirty and have an empty bank account when the guy left.

Here's what I think.  Morris Jenkins is good in a pinch.  Since they're a big company they have inventory and lots of techs on the road.  That is a double edge sword.  The techs are salespeople.  They know how to use buzzwords and are taught how to work customers to spend their hard earned money and take advantage of scare tactics to get people to spend money.  If I left it up to them I would have spent a truckload of money and wasn't given the option or advice to allow my current system to be patched.  The prices I was quoted for a new unit were DOUBLE what I found out a new unit costs from other, more reasonable companies.  The repairs and priority advantage quotes were also double what I was quoted from other companies.

Morris Jenkins has their high overhead, advertising budget and sales staff to pay for.  My advice is to get a second opinion before committing to anything with them.

Sold an elderly man a 11k unit and proud to say it comes with a 12 yr warranty. No integrity. Only out for the sale. I contacted them 4 hours after he signed the papers and they said there was nothing they could do.  If your parents contact MJ, make sure you are there.

In response to your reply:  this  is the same response for everyone. Call customer service. Don't you think everyone has? This is why the bad reviews. They don't do anything. People don't write bad reviews without trying to solve the problem first. I have talked to 2 people at MJ and they chose to go around me and talk to him (without me). There is no honesty, respect or integrity with the 2 salesman. If you want to give me the info to the General Manager, that would be great

In my opinion, this company tries to sell you a new a/c unit as the default option for every service call. The unit they try to sell me was 10,000 installed when it should have been 4-5k. I ended up having another technician fix my problem for $100. It seems like it's their business model to replace so if you need a regular service call and not a new unit don't call them. Even if you need a new unit they are insanely overpriced.

We have had Morris Jenkins for about 2 years and were on their twice a year maintenance plan.  Every year the technician would come out and give everything a thorough once over. They were very professional and courteous.

This year the technician advised our water tank seemed to be leaking and one of their plumbers would come out to determine the issue.
The Plumber saw there was some water in the pan and stated the tank needed to be replaced. The quote was  $3200.00 to replace with a similar unit and another $650.00 to install a pressure relief valve at the street.

We declined both, contacted another company who determined the tank was not leaking, that a repair to the hose was needed. They also located the pressure relief valve at the street which required the spring to be replaced.
Total to repair the water tank issue and the relief valve spring was $650.00.

Good customer service is more than a friendly face it's also not feeling you are being taken advantage of.

Worst decision I ever made to use Morris Jenkins. They came out and every time they did something was conveniently broken; after spending over $1,000 the representative told me I needed an entirely new unit and would cost 8-10k. Had another company come out and replaced one piece and now it works great! Nothing but a scam.

IF YOU HAVE TIME, SHOP AROUND!!!  I was pressed for time and had to make a quick decision.  The technician that came to my home was VERY friendly, answered all my questions and took his time to explain the repair . . just like in the commercials.  The only red flag was he wouldn't detail the costs of parts and labor.

I did some research AFTER the service was completed and paid for . . here is the description of the invoice I received:
Order Detail
$1,039.00 $1,039.00
Disconnect gas line, flue vent and electrical wiring. Remove inducer motor assembly and pressure switch safety control.  Install new inducer motor assembly and gasket, aligning for optimal combustion safety and efficiency.  Install new pressure safety control and check combustion air pressure for optimal safety and efficiency.  Reattach electrical wiring and flue venting pipe.  Restart furnace and check carbon monoxide levels within flue system.  Test for proper operation and safety. (*Special Order - OEM)

I'll let you be the judge .. was the charge fair and reasonable?  It seems the motor runs about $275 for an 1 - 11/2 hour install.  As a courtesy the technician also clean my coil.  Just consider this an FYI . . .

I recently had MJ come out to check my furnace that was not working. The service was prompt and the technician nice.
He informed me that the circuit board was out, 450 for that part , which they did not have , and that the system was in such bad shape I should replace it (4 years old). And btw you should replace the aged ( but working) AC and the duct work for almost 30K ( with discounts).
Today Bradham Brothers has it up and running for 287.0 after taking it upon themselves to check and see that the parts where under warranty.
Honesty  and integrity win the day and ALL of my business

In just the past 2 days, I have had around 5 Morris-Jenkins techs in my house, (all wearing masks, social distancing when possible, and, wore shoe coverings), and, not one of them in the bunch were a bad apple!  They all seem to love their jobs, and, realize it's the customers that they service that keeps them in a job,....and, because of that, they are very professional, very courteous, and, very knowledgeable in their given fields!  All I can say, is this: If you need plumbing or heating/A/C,...they are the ones to go to!  You won't be disappointed!

They literally charged me almost 500.00 for a $25.00 part plus 10 minutes to install. They totally ripped me off and don't care about ripping off their customers. I will be contacting the better business bureau as this is price gauging at its finest. Btw, a supervisor did call me and basically said sorry not sorry....nothing he can do about it!

Our 16 year old unit went out on Thursday, we had someone out the next day and ended up replacing both units on Sunday.  We went in knowing we would probably replace both units as they were old and we have had several maintenance and service visits over the past few months.

We were credited back our service visits off the cost of the units / labor.  They also told  us about a credit from Duke Power.

Everyone was so friendly and competent from the initial call, to the sales person (Chad), to the two installers who made sure to keep us updated on their progress throughout the day.

They all took care by placing tarps down on the floors, they vacuumed and cleaned after the install.

After several weeks of repairs to other parts of the house with other companies and contractors, Morris Jenkins' staff was by far the most communicative, helpful, timely, group AND they have not had to come back several times to repair mistakes on the install like other companies / contractors.

Finally, they took care of getting the proper permit for the install as well as scheduling the inspection with the county afterwards.

I cannot believe this company can be in business. Two men separately came out to my grandmother's house when her AC stopped cooling and claimed she absolutely needed to replace the entire AC unit. He said expect between $10-12k and that AC units only last 8-12 years and that I could find that info anywhere (I checked, the average is 15-20). I told him we would get a second opinion and boy am I glad we did. $400 later and problem solved. The Sky HVAC rep says we absolutely do not need a replacement. Morris Jenkins couldn't offer my grandmother anything till Monday and claimed the smaller companies would likely be booked out for the week. Well here we are with someone at almost 10pm same day, just 2.5 hours after calling, fixing it. Morris Jenkins if you want good reviews, maybe recommend the affordable immediate repair option rather than throwing the baby out with the bathwater, and instead of scamming the elderly out of $10k+

I think the reason Bobby really left and is no longer in the ads is because he couldn't sleep at night knowing how much this company charges people!! If there is a way to get them zero stars I would they recently came out and tried to sell my family a new furnace they wanted $7000 my parents are elderly and in their late 70s. Luckily we intercepted and were able to get it quoted from two other companies for half the price. $3200!! Then they had the nerve to badmouth both the companies that we were comparing them to that is poor business judgment for any company. After reading through some of the reviews it is obvious that they take it vantage of o people selling them systems that are double the amount other companies do it's a shame. There's a reason why MJ ads on TV are so polished you are paying for that if you were using this company. Do yourself a favor and get at least three quotes if you need any work done on your house.

And as I said below is the MJ BS response ! What a joke.

Check out my reviews on Google
Morris-Jenkins you will not be getting my $8000 for giving me incorrect diagnostic of the issues that I was having .information and trying to get me to  finance. However the employees and staff is very nice that's one good thing I can say about the company and they also act very concerned but at the end of the line is all about the money. We are extremely pleased with Morris Jenkins and their service team. We have been using MJ for 2 years and everyone person we have dealt with is courteous and explain any issues that may need to be repaired. We had Chris S come by yesterday for a HVAC check on a  new house we just purchased and he was helpful in discussing the items that needed to be fixed and those that could wait.
Recommend the company without hesitation.

Pressure regulator and water meter installed. Work done properly. Price was extremely high. Would not have agreed to pricing, however came to Charlotte from out of state to have work done at investment property and was on a tight schedule. They knew my situation and likely took advantage and gouged me. So, if you are in a tough plumbing situation, expect to pay waaay more using Morris-J than industry standards. As for me, I will not use again.
Update: Management reached out to me because of my review. They explained that M&J has a set pricing list for services that their plumbers use and if a customer goes off the list it's falls on to plumber to determine pricing.  Apparently, it's uncommon for customers to need a new meter and pressure regulator at the same time. They reviewed the work done and pricing and determined the charge was too high.  They agreed to lower the price:)

My advise get another quote! I am glad I did! Morris Jenkins was OVER TWICE what two other local heat and air companies quoted.  They tried to sell me on service and warranty, but I get the same from the other company- and NO contract. They pull out a binder and 'bad mouth' every air-conditioning brand but their own. Honestly, good customer service claim comes at a HUGE cost and felt like they were trying to pull a fast one.. Their quote $11,800. The company I choose was $5,100. Their business tactics smell like a rip-off.

I had a sewage backed up in a rental house. My regular plumber couldn't come out. I looked around and saw a terrific price of $77 to unclog the drain. The 1st guy came out and tried to clear the clog through the vent since I did not have any clean out vent in the front of the house. It did not work and said he would send a second guy out to see it with a camera. I was not able to meet the second guy until he finish inspecting the pipes with a camera. When I came out to talk to him, he said he could not see anything in the pipe because it was clogged and dark. He then proceeded to quote me an exorbitant price on installing a clean out in the front of the house and jet blasting it clear ($4,500). And there was no guarantee that it would unclog the drain. First of all, he did not have ladder on his truck to climb to the roof to put any camera through the vent. And he did not offer the option to use a big auger and try to break through via the toilet opening (remove the toilet). When my regular plumber came out the next day, he would have only charge me $2,000 to put in two clean out and replace a 20 foot section of the cast iron. To simply fix the problem, my plumber broke a hole in the cast iron pipe in front of the house and ran a big auger to clear the drain. After clearing the drain, he put a cap on top of the cast iron pipe. This process cost me $300.
The kicker to all of this was that my Visa card was compromise in less than an hour after I gave them the info to setup my account to get somebody out there. My bank told me that they had a two page list of attempts on my card. This is my backup card used only in situations that I have a concern about giving out the information. And I had not used it for the past three weeks. When I called to let them know that their system had been compromise, they didn't seem to be very concern about it.

Terrible customer service my grandmothers unit went out because the technician wired it wrong and blew the compressor . Experts right!!!! Told us will bring another one for the unit we have been waiting all day now they are telling us that can't come until Sunday afternoon. I wouldn't be that much concern about and tough it out but grandmother recently left hospital of a stroke and still recovering now we have to make arrangements to get her somewhere to remain cool. Just not happy at the whole situation or service right now.

I needed to replace my furnace right before Thanksgiving. After calling 4 companies, only Morris Jenkins could come out  to replace it prior to Thanksgiving. My problem was I was pushed for time otherwise, I would have waited on other companies.
The sales person was a typical salesman, however when he left, he had my payment, but did not leave my proposal, the warranty agreement nor the information for the tax refund on energy efficient appliance. I had to call several times to obtain them, and I am still waiting on the tax certificate.
The servicemen were very good, polite and competent! Before leaving, I was instructed on the thermostat usage and given carbon monoxide monitors.
Communication with the office is poor or lacking.
The bottom line the cost was extremely, I repeat extremely  high, they got me due to the closeness to a holiday. The cost was well over 3000 more than I should have paid. My suggestion is do your homework, check out other companies, because I am stuck now!!

SCAM of a company! Our unit stopped heating towards the end of winter and we had them come out. The tech went up to the attic and stayed for about 20 minutes. Upon his return he showed us bogus pictures like we don't know what our attic looks like and says, I shut the unit off. You need a new one. It is no good. IN 40 DEGREE WEATHER WITH KIDS IN THE HOUSE!! We were livid! Then they had the audacity to call and try to schedule for someone to come out to get us pricing on a new unit. We were so mad, we went upstairs turned the unit back on and magically...IT WORKED! They steal your money and I was so tempted to go to their office to get my money back but I did not want to see another person working there. The are all crooks and scam artists. NEVER AGAIN!

What a dishonest company!

I started doing business with Morris Jenkins because they were a Nest approved group.  They came out and finished install the Nest thermostat   Nest must train better than Morris Jenkins because that is the last think they could fix.  I joined there priority club. Or I call it there employee party fund.

Each season I get a visit from Morris Jenkins. The first one they told me I needed a new duct system estimated at $10,000.   Sure I did just like I needed a hole in the head. The second one he told me my capacitors were about to go out in my air-conditioning system and they should be replaced well it's now been working two more years.  The third guy was the worst he told me I didn't have enough gas pressure to heat my house in the winter well the gas company came out and I was being delivered more pressure than I needed and it turned out that Morris Jenkins had a faulty gauge or the technician didn't know how to read it which is more likely.
The straw that broke the camels back was the last one when I did have a problem in my heating unit would not start he came out and found a loose wire under the breaker feeding the heat pump he told me I would have to replace the breaker and he could do that for $640. I looked up the part at Lowe's it was $19 so I told him to leave it alone and that I would take care of it. He charged me for the service call and left. When I went out and looked at it myself all it took was a screwdriver being placed on the lug nut and tighten the wire under the lug nut

During the time I was a priority member I was invited to all sorts of movie nights and carnivals by Morris Jenkins. Who wants their heating and cooling company paying for this type of thing. I have a feeling not many customers go but a lot of employees families have fun. But when I received a book that was hardbound and professionally printed promoting Mr. Jenkins said statements I said what a waste of money by a self promoting man.  I think Mr. Jenkins must have a ego problem that needs to be self inflated by spending money on himself and his own image.

I would recommend that no one do business with this Organization

The skilled tradesman who came out to service my AC was very good. He talked me into signing up for Priority Advantage, which I thought I paid for with the service. My mistake. It's a monthly subscription. I noticed a $20 dollar charge showed up on my credit card today. I immediately called to cancel.  The rep obliged, effective immediately, she said. When I asked if I'd be getting a refund of the charge. She told me no refunds because they consider this my 30 day notice. I asked if I'd still be able to use the service, if necessary, until the cycle ends since I paid for  30 days.  She told me no. So, I paid for a service I never used or will ever get to use. I think that's thievery.

Here was our situation, and note that it was worse than this, but I don't want to type it all out:

We scheduled an appointment for them to come between 4 and 7 PM. We called at 6 PM to make sure our appointment was still on, and they said yes, we would definitely have our appointment before 7. Then 7:15 came around and we had not heard anything, and we were trying to figure out our dinner plans, so we called, and the guy at the office said that we had time and to go out to dinner and he will take $10 off. Sounds good right? Well, we get 10 minutes down the road and the technician calls, so then we had to go back home. Then, to top it all off, wanted the safety check and cleaning, but they told us it was dark and they can't do the cleaning.

Needless to say, we will never be calling this company again. Apparently they spend all of their money on commercials instead of listening, scheduling, and overall communication.

P.S. The technician was very nice, so if you can get to that stage you should be good to go.

This company went to my mother's house to evaluate and estimate a pipe blockage in her bathroom. She lives alone and is disabled so I was handling most of the coordination. She called me, concerned and said It was going to be a big job and I can't afford it. I spoke to the plumber and he was a hard salesman- sold me up, rushed me, wouldn't provide time for me to evaluate the purchase. When I asked to have an hour to evaluate he stated I wouldn't want my mothers' pipes backing up. Then he quoted me a $6800 charge. I had zero confidence in this individual and called my mother later. She said that she felt like he treated her like an old lady and wasn't comfortable with him.
I then called the city and they sent out a crew to evaluate. They went into the house, utilized the same type of cameras and checked the system. Their first comment was to never call that company again, and this is an easy $100 fix- which has since been accomplished.
This was a terrible company that tried to take advantage of my elderly mother. They were disrespectful and arrogant. DO NOT CALL THEM!

Very unhappy with our service.

On 4th of July our AC and Furnace died. MJ was one of 3 companies we called out to get a quote on replacing the system. Their prices were double the company we ended up going with. They quoted us at 13k-16k, while we ended up buying a great system for $7800. The salesmen also talked to me like I was an idiot and kept asking me if my husband should be there for the discussion we were having. After he left, I never heard from him again. He did not email me quotes with models as he promised. A few days later a CS Rep called me to see how I would rate my service. I told her that he never provided me a quote on paper and she apologized and said she would have him do that. One week later, I still never received the quote.

I just have to say a few months back we had a couple of your guys out at our place an the younger guy seemed to be over the older guy 'Kris ( the new guy') an we could hear how the one guy was treating Kris. It was awful, like he wanted him to fail, nothing nice about the guy that was constantly needling an belittling This Kris Nash . I think that is the name of the new guy. We felt so sorry for Kris. Firstly, The technicians that came out were superb. Prompt, nice, neat, professional. Well done to them. Lastly, the office staff is terrible. Given the terrible lack of competence , I cannot recommend this place at all.

I have been a loyal customer for years so when our water heater died I called them only to find out their Tanks must be made of gold.  Was quoted $3000.....called another plumber we have used in the past & got it for $1400. How sad that a company treats loyal customers like this..  They need to change from Happy Happy Happy to Greed greed greed. Bye Mr. Jenkins.

I had them come out to service my HVAC. I have a zoned HVAC, everything was working fine. All of a sudden my downstairs zone area wasn't working. I had them come out to find out what was wrong. They turned something on and it miraculously starting working. But they charged me another $49.00 for the service and said it wasn't their fault. I have Morris Jenkins Priority Advantage I'll be getting rid of them tomorrow.

Had a tech come out last night to tell us we had a problem with our freon and our evaporator coils. Wanted to charge us $325 to clean them. Why can't companies just be honest and tell you about products that are available. We already agreed to the $90
Service call. I spent $8.95 to spray this product from Blackhawk hardware into my evaporator coils. It cleaned them
And fixed my problem. Your company is price gouging, and your commercials are funded by naive individuals.

If you have money to burn, call Morris Jenkins.

The good:  They have very prompt service.

The bad:  They Grossly overcharge.

My water heater stopped working.  MJ quickly sent over a tech who stated that it needed to be replaced, not fixed.  Maybe true, maybe not.  I took it at face value at the time.  However, after reading other reviews, I should have questioned their opinion.

I received the bill and was surprised to see that it wasn't itemized.  Obviously, there is much more than the cost of the water heater that goes into the entirety of the job.  But I figured that looking up the price of that hardware was a good start.  The total cost of the installation was 580% of the cost of the hot water heater. Yes, it cost me nearly 6x the cost of the hardware to get this job done.

I sent an email asking for an itemized breakdown. They called and stated that they do not give itemized bills.  I can understand why not, as 50% of the bill would be itemized under the heading of Ripoff.  I asked for the price of the hot water heater and they would not even give me that.  And they claimed that the prices that I was seeing online for the same heater were not accurate as they must have been unauthorized by the manufacturer and likely refurbished without any sort of warranty.  Ridiculous.  There are numerous reputable sites selling the identical unit.  Again, I don't expect MJ to match the price of an e-commerce site.  But spinning me this line of BS is absurd.

Short of the long: I will Never, EVER, do business with is company again.

Update:
I just went to get some meat out of my freezer to grill up on this July 4 holiday.  The Incompetent Imbeciles at Morris-Jenkins unplugged my freezer a Week ago and left it unplugged!!!  My freezer is jam packed with over 100lbs of wild game meat from hunting trips out West.  All of this now rotten!  The stench is unbearable!   Why, in the Hell anyone would Ever unplug a freezer in the Southern summer heat is beyond me.  This idiotic act is made worse by the fact that there were other open outlets available.  To call this unacceptable is a gross understatement.

MJ called last week and left a message regarding the initial review and requested that I call them back.   I did not return the call.  But now I most certainly will be calling them back.  I will update this review with any information on MJ's attempts to rectify this situation.

I don't write many reviews because I believe in giving grace.  Everyone makes mistakes and shouldn't be raked over the coals for each one.  When this happened last weekend, I honestly thought that the MJ tech was just incompetent.  However, after hearing multiple stories from friends who have had this exact same thing happen to their loved ones (mostly elderly ones), I decided to share my experience to try to keep this from happening to others.  (purposefully leaving the tech's name out of this review)

Our air went out last Saturday evening.  I called MJ on Sunday morning and they were able to send a tech out that afternoon.  They gave me a window between 2pm and 5pm and the tech came out around 3pm.

After checking the upstairs only, he told us that our system could not be repaired.  The entire system would have to be replaced.  The blower motor was dead amongst other issues.  In addition to replacing the system, they would have to replace all of our duct work.  He told me it would be around 15k to fix everything-6k to 8k for the duct work alone!  I asked if we could just get the new system because we couldn't afford 15k right now.  He told me no.  They would not be allowed to install a new system because it would not be compliant with the manufacturer's specs based on the current duct work.  We declined the work so on their paperwork it lists we chose to leave the system dead along with all the issues with our system and duct work.

Within 2 hours, we had a smaller company out for a 2nd opinion.  We did not tell this tech anything the MJ tech had said.  After checking out our system, he told us that the module needed to be replaced which is why the motor was not working.  I asked if that was all and he said he couldn't be certain what was going on with the outside unit until the blower motor was working.  MJ sure did so I thought here we go..here's the catch.   Monday morning, he got the module and installed it and it started working immediately.  He checked the outside unit, cleaned it, and said everything is in good working condition.  We only spent 5% of what MJ said it would cost to have our air conditioning back on!

There is up-selling and there is down right ripping off.  Just happy I got a 2nd opinion and didn't pay the price of a new car for something that I didn't even need.   Beware and get that 2nd opinion!

TURN & RUN !
I owned my 2 AC units for 12 years. The first unit stopped working the summer of 2019 while I was traveling on business. My wife called Morris Jenkins and they told us we needed a new system and new refrigerant due to code. They replaced the 1 unit for over $12K. As luck would have it my 2nd system stopped working shortly after. Tech/rep from MJ came back and quoted us $1K to get us thru the rest of the summer, and $4K to get us thru the year. Luckily my neighbor used to be in the AC business. He quickly diagnosed I needed a $26.00 capacitor replaced that he ended replacing in about 20 minutes on the 2nd unit. This unit has been operating fine since the summer of 2019. Its coming up on 1 year later. I am convinced they train their technicians to upsell and would suspect even commissioned to do so. They took advantage of the fact that I was away and was dealing with my wife on the $12K system. After my experience and feeling swindled with my 2nd system I received quotes from 2 other AC companies for under $8K for the same $12K system installed by MJ. This is a very dishonest company and prey on customers who are at a disadvantage. Buyer beware! Their TV ads gall me because they are smiling at you with their hand in your pocket the whole time.
But don't take my word for it, read the dozens of reviews that have the same theme ....,  DISHONESTY!

I have an almost 10 year old AC unit that was installed by Morris Jenkins.   An item broke and they were
Nice enough to tell me it was still under the parts warranty for another 3 months.   However, in addition to the $89 service/diagnostic call, they charged me another $340 for roughly 15-20 minutes of labor.   That equates to almost $1,000 per hour.   My AC was broken so I agreed to it.  When I called the office to discuss their billing, I was told that the price was fair.    Geez, I'm glad I was covered by a warranty and only paid roughly $1,000 per hour of labor.   I'm sorry but this seems wrong for them to do business like that.    On a good note, they did fix my AC fast.

I was recommended Morris-Jenkins by two friends after our AC went out and am SO happy that I didn't let the reviews on here stop me from scheduling an appointment with them. From when I first called, they were so helpful and friendly. I called around 10:00am, and they were out by us within 45 minutes. Travis did a full diagnostic for us, helped us understand what was wrong and fixed the problem onsite. He was really helpful and friendly... he even helped clean up some standing water by our unit and checked our air filters! Fantastic experience all around. We felt the price was completely fair (unlike some of the other reviews stated), and we are 100% using them going forward.

GET A SECOND OPINION!! If you've already used them, get a second opinion. They came out and diagnosed the problem w/my AC and quoted me $7K to repair or get a new system for $9-12K. I'm out of work so neither worked for me. A friend suggested I call someone she used in the past so I did. He came out and said the issue was totally different than what Morris said and it would be $500! Yes, it cost me $100 to get a second opinion but it literally saved me THOUSANDS!! I also asked how much he'd charge for a new system and it was only $3,500 so Morris is definitely a ripoff!

We have been Morris-Jenkins customers for years.  They have great knowledge and do great work.  We are a priority advantage customer.  Two visits ago, the tech told my wife that the unit was getting older and we have about 2 years of life left.  They had to recharge unit, cost several hundred dollars.  That was about 8 months ago.

During the most recent visit, the tech told us that the battery was in need of replacement.  My wife asked if he had one available.  The tech said yes.  How much?  The tech said $369.  Plus tax.  Had to total nearly $400 by the end.  I told her to wait.  My wife agreed to wait.  The next day while working, a Morris Jenkins company representative called her back and said that the part was actually a dual capacitor.  He quoted her a price of $325.00 plus tax.  She set up an appointment for two days later.

In the mean time I went onto the internet and found out that the capacitor was easy to find and replace.  I went to the Trane unit.  I took out 2 screws, got the part number, ordered the dual capacitor online.

My wife was shocked when I told her that the dual capacitor was only $7.95 with free shipping from New Hampshire!!!  The next weekend my son replaced the capacitor.  It was 4 screws and removal and attachment of 4 wires.  It took him all of three minutes.

This saved us nearly $400.!!!!!

My advice is to step back and think about any repairs that MJ recommends.  Heating is fine, but, Morris Jenkins is not COOL!

Just bought a new house and needed to get our water situation figured out. House had a water heater in the attic and we weren't comfortable with that. Plus being the California hippies we are, we wanted to get all the crap out of the water (chlorine, pharmaceuticals, fluoride, etc) so we got a whole house carbon filter and a Reverse Osmosis for under the sink.

Daniel Brodbeck and his guys were out to the house on time and were beyond professional, blue booties and all. It was a large project, and they were there all day. They worked hard to make sure we were comfortable and had water on as much as possible. Everything they installed looks perfect, workmanship is top notch.

On top of that we had a leak coming from our upstairs tub. I asked them to take a look. They got that taken care of all in the same day. When I had just had another plumber tell me it was impossible the day before.

Great service! I will definitely be using Morris's Jenkins for all my plumbing needs.

Morris Jenkins is simply the best possible HVAC contractor one could hope for. I have been a Priority Advantage member for several years, and it is worth every penny. My A/C unit has never broken down because of their proactive suggestions when they come out twice a year for preventative maintenance. Pat M was our service tech today, and he was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy. You never feel taken advantage of--with Morris Jenkins, it is a consultative experience that empowers you as the customer.

I rarely take the time to write reviews for businesses, but I feel it's my duty to share their excellence with other Charlotteans. If you have any HVAC issues, there's really no decision to make. Call them. And sign up for Priority Advantage membership, which will save you hundreds of not thousands of dollars in the long run.

Here's my experience.....Air went out about 2 am on a Thursday, Friday pm Service Tech arrived; diagnosed the issue; scheduled comfort specialist, who arrived promptly Saturday, that Tuesday by 4 we had a new system/furnace.  From the initial call to the installation inspector they were eager to please, prompt, professional, and friendly.  If I ruled the world..... I would have opted for a cheaper price.  However as a firm believer in that you get what you pay for I'm pleased.  For MJ I can only image the overhead (trucks on the road, technicians, call center, not to mention the corny  commercials).

The service technician was friendly and polite. He was on time. When I questioned the cost of a damper motor being twice as expensive as a competitor the response was we will be here in an hour if there is a problem . He attempted to sell me parts and repairs that were unnecessary showing me pictures of the last home he was at and saying this is what my AC unit could end up like. I called a competitor who confirmed that I only needed 1 damper motor replaced and that my AC unit was far from needing repair. I ended up buying a service plan with the competitor, replaced damper motor for less than quote from Morris-Jenkins for a single damper motor.

Scheduled an appointment and told the person that I work from home and spend most of my time on the phone. Technician called while I was on the phone, but didn't leave a voicemail. When I contacted them to inquire when they would arrive during the window they gave me I was told the technician cancelled the call because I could not be reached. Guess they shouldn't have let Bobby go off to Hollywood.

We had new countertops put in and the contractor's plumber did a poor job resulting in water leaking big time under our sink.  We should have been smarter and had Morris Jenkins do the job in the first place.  Larry and Ed from plumbing came and fixed things up perfectly.  The drain and garbage disposal working much better.  Larry even gave us some great info on garbage disposal use and shutting off water to the house if needed.  Larry's apprentice Ed was very professional and knowledgeable too!  Larry seems to be a terrific instructor.  Thanks again for the great service!

My tankless water heater wouldn't work. I called Morris Jenkins, they said they would send out someone to fix it. He arrived promptly. The tech didn't have a nut driver to open the heater housing. I lent him one. once open he had no idea at all. This tech didn't know how to use a volt meter. He put one probe on the ground wire and one to the frame and proceeded to tell me there was no power going to the unit. He called the manufacturer support line but they gave up on him. I was charged a trip charge of $95.45. I called their office, was put in touch with his supervisor. He apologized, said he was the wrong tech to send out. He was to talk to the dispatcher who for some strange reason caught the blame and he would refund my charge. That was 14 days ago & there is no refund processed. My recommendation, go elsewhere. They not only misrepresent but then compound the problem with more lies.

First - their techs are nice and friendly.  They do the job - when you have to pay for it. But the reason for 2 stars is for their selfishness and lies to me.

We bought a new home and a Lennox system was installed - however, by a competitor.  I chose to go with MJ for the annual maintenance agreement because they have been in charlotte a long time.

After 2 years of monthly payments for them to come out, they found a bad capacitor. They wanted $300 for it. I told them my AC had a warranty through 2022.. That's when the real Morris Jenkins came out. They proceeded to tell me that they can't work on it under warranty since they didn't install it. And I would have to pay the $300.. I called Lennox and was told that is 100% false. Any licensed company can replace the part under warranty and be reimbursed by Lennox. When I called MJ back and told them that and to call the Lennox rep and # - they changed and said it was just company policy that they don't do that. So it's ok to take 2 years of monthly maintenance payments but not ok for you to service the system under warranty.

Will never use them again - in fact, we are beginning to build a new home next month. That will be a question I ask and will make sure they are not used.

To be fair, I only received a quote from them. However I wanted to share my experience. If the folks on the phone weren't as polite and courteous as they were, I would have reduced this to zero stars if possible.

I called for a quote to run a gas line. Without a doubt, their customer service was solid. Everyone was extremely polite and friendly. However I nearly fell over when I received their estimate.

MJ quoted more than DOUBLE what a local smaller company proposed to run a gas line 15 feet from my gas meter to my cooktop. By far the most greedy, excessive and outrageous quote I have ever  received.

You are paying a premium for their overhead, advertising, and executive salaries. Stick to the dependable, smaller local pro. Don't overpay for the big name, fancy trucks and bill boards. Always get another quote. You will be surprised how much more MJ costs.

I let the person answering the phone  know what was happening before a plumber came out, not sure the worker even turned on the water. said need to repl unit for around $600 and $100 for diagnosis since you did not pay for a new unit. the reality of it is I diagnosed myself. when I called I was made to believe they would try to fix it but since the water is running through system they already know it needed to be replaced. $100 down the disposal. I will search for my own plumber now and in the future, I will do my own research. And not trust Home Advisors
THIS IS THE SUMMARY THEY GAVE ME AFTER : Order Notes
1. The customer stated that their garbage disposal was leaking. After inspection found that the disposal was leaking from the base. I'm
from the customer that you cannot repair it you would have to replace it. I gave options for the different disposals and the customer
did not want to move forward at this time. They paid the $89 diagnostic fee no mention if they decided to use us to install one of our
disposals then the diagnostic fee she paid will be deducted. If she would purchase your own disposal then just the labor fee would be
charged as normal with no deductions.
PS. When I called to complain, I was informed the charge was not a diagnosis but a home visit!

MJ is over twice the price of their competitors.  Was not impressed at their sales tactics.  I live in Concord, NC.    My packed unit (gas pack) furnace/ac needed replacement.  i asked for a quotation.  I knew the wholesale cost was about $2000 for a 2 ton/60k BTU unit.  In addition,  most companies offered rebates of around $1700.
The salesman quoted 3 units between $8800 and $12000.  He made many claims and statements that i knew were not true.  For example, he claimed other companies removed components from the unit to offer a lower price.  In fact, the largest difference is labor cost, not equipment cost.  They apparantly quoted me about $1000 an hour for installation.
I ended up getting a furnace from a company I trusted in Stanfield, NC. i chose the variable speed fan upgrade because of the $500 rebate.  The total cost was $5500.

Had a new system installed ... end to end....at least, I thought it was. To be fair, these folks were prompt and responsive. However, when we reviewed the contract to purchase a new system...I asked if the system would be 100% new. The answer was yes, except for ductwork...but other than that EVERYTHING is new. Well... not true. I overlooked a checkmark on the contract, and made the mistake of taking the sales guidance as being fact based. In reality, the copper line sets are not replaced.

They also pushed a cutoff switch... which they sold as ..your current system doesn't have failover... you need this or your ceiling will collapse. That's not true.. current system has primary and secondary, however, they sold me a 3rd level of cutover to make money.

The warning here is...be careful what you buy from them. In my case, the products purchased (for a lot of money), did not meet the product promised.

Very disappointed, and hoping that I will not have to rely on the warranty where I suspect that I'll be met with additional surprises.

M

Update:
And it continues, as I suspected... 2 weeks after installation, I have to call MJ to ask for a bill. Further, the system is yet to be inspected by the City. And, this is a rental property, the installers scheduled the inspection with the tenant, not me the owner. Symptoms of what future problems are likely to come.

Highly recommend staying away from MJ.. they are all about sales.. not product or process or service.

Another Update:
So.. this company has over-sold and under delivered, per my notes above. I had to call to request a bill, per my notes above. And today... they are calling my tenant to inquire about the status of the bill! They sent the bill to the wrong place, and have contacted the wrong person in regards to the bill... and I call them and regardless of their mis-management of sending the bill out, they want it paid now... without giving the full notice. They also claimed that it should have been paid on site upon completion. However, when I offered to pay on site, they declined that offer and said they would mail the bill. Further, the unit had yet to be inspected...This company is definitely not one to do business with, based on my experiences so far.

I have been thoroughly impressed with Morris-Jenkins. I recently discovered that I had a problem with one of my HVAC units (it stopped cooling). I contacted Morris-Jenkins after 6:30pm and they sent a technician to my home that very same evening (at no extra charge because they are open until Midnight)! He wasn't able to determine the extent of the problem (bc my coil was frozen). So, he came back again the next day (at a time that was convenient for me), determined what the problem was and the following day... A team came back and installed a new HVAC, CO2 detectors, and arranged for my county inspection of their work! I am very impressed...prompt, efficient, and very professional! They even swept the floor and stairs before they left! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MORRIS-JENKINS. I wish I could have met Bobby from their commercials.

My most recent experience involved a seasonal checkup of the HVAC system for $89. According to them, it was over 18yrs old but the tech still needed to 'test' it. Total cost for $89 visit = $325.

The verbal quotes they offered for a new system were at least 30% more than others. The sales rep did not offer a written, prepared quote. He provided a model number later, for equipment we did not discuss.

Do yourself a favor.. call someone else. There are other companies who have been in business for 30+ years in Charlotte.. who you can trust.

I was able to get a maintenance appointment very quickly. The rep was very nice and professional. I am disappointed in that my ac was presented as being days from dying and dangerous to myself and my dog. I felt like I was at a gym or buying a used car. Your up sell and hard selling policy is out dated. I will not use your company again as I don't trust you. Deceit come to mind.

Morris-Jenkins as a whole has been a Godsend. Tonight was the third time I had to see them in a weeks time but the technician that came out tonight Chris C. was great. He was not the type who just fixed things and did not include you in on what was going on. The entire time from when he stepped in the door he had me on his heels explaining everything he was doing, why he was doing it, and what the system actually was doing. I ask a lot of questions so he educated me on some new things along the way as well. He also changed some settings that would help us in the long run. I really thank you all for the services you provide. The customer service is worth every penny alone.

I remodeled my kitchen and had new countertops and under mount sink installed. Morris Jenkins came out to hook up the plumbing.  I provided the garbage disposal and he hooked it up and ran the drain on the other side of the sink and was there for 25 minutes.  They charged $735.51 and did not supply the parts!  I was in a bind when they came out (it was late Friday) or I would have used someone else.  I had a friend (that is a commercial plumber) and he even said that was high.  The guy was nice but the cost was high.  The receipt is not detailed so you can't understand why it was so high.  I guess we have to pay for their high price advertising!  They were recommended by Home Advisor....NEVER AGAIN....on either!

I've just been through a three-day ordeal with my air conditioner, in the first heat wave of the Carolina summer. Thursday night, my outside unit died completely. I called Morris-Jenkins (MJ) and they didn't have any evening appointments available but did schedule me for 8:00 a.m. the next morning.

A tech named Thomas arrived in the morning, right on time. He spent three hours here working on the outdoor unit and checking things upstairs. I had let my Priority Advantage contract slip, so he got me set up on that again, which saved me on the diagnostic fee and completely cleaned the outside unit for free (covered under their PA plan, twice a year). He also found that the capacitor was blown and replaced that. My unit is still under parts warranty, and I believed under labor warranty, so there was no charge for that. When he left, the unit was working at starting to cool the house again.

I left for the day, and when I returned it was short cycling and had only cooled the house from 78 to 76. I called again and they were able to get someone scheduled to come between 9:00 and midnight on Friday night. They asked me to shut off the unit completely so it didn't cause any additional damage to other parts. I turned it off, and the tech (I believe his name was Chris), arrived around 10:30 p.m. We turned the unit back on, and of course, the short-cycling did not reoccur. The unit ran steadily the entire time he was here. He flushed the drain line and did some other stuff on it, and also ordered me a thermostatic valve. He let me know that I had just run out of labor warranty, and the tech in the morning probably didn't charge me because it was out a couple of weeks. He put the thermostatic valve in under warranty but said I would need to start paying labor from the point on. No worries. :) Unit was cooling the house well when he left.

Woke up Saturday morning and it seemed good. In the evening the thermostat started acting a bit squirrelly. Although it seemed to be holding temp at 73, it was still more humid in here than normal. Since it was night, I just went to bed and decided I would call in the morning if all was not well.

Sure enough - it was dead again when I got up in the morning. I called back and they had a tech named Craig over here within a couple of hours. He found that the drain line was completely clogged, and the water had backed up in the upstairs, tripping the safety valve. It took a bit to dislodge the clog, but then a bunch of crap came flooding out. After the clog cleared, the unit kicked on and has been running solid since then. Craig did an excellent job of cleaning it all out and getting it back up and running again. Thanks for the great service!! :)

This company is untrustworthy. Inflate service issues to get more money. They came to service my heating systems & I was informed I had a gas leak & needed to shut off my gas line. They informed me they couldn't do it. I contacted my local gas company about the leak, when they came to check for a gas leak I was informed there was no leak at all. They quoted me over $3,000 for repairs. They had serviced my a/c units this summer & I also spent well over $2,500 at that time. Now I'm wondering if that was actually accurate.

What a bunch of scam artists!  They come in tell me my hvac is totally shot, they can replace it for $8k or fix it for $6k, and charge me $95 for hearing the sales pitch.  They really tried to scare me the whole time, saying it was a fire hazard and all other BS. They even tried to schedule a time to talk to my wife about it (obviously so they could scare her into having us buy a whole new system).  Called another company for a second opinion and they fixed it for $700 same day.  Don't trust them or their stupid commercials, just a bunch of sneaky salesmen using used car lot tactics!

Wildly overpriced and misleading in diagnosis of system problems.  For years, we had Morris-Jenkins out twice/year to do the annual checkup on our a/c and heating system using a monthly prepayment plan.  Their people drove lovely new trucks, looked freshly uniformed, were polite, capable, knowledgeable, and attentive.  They consistently showed up on time and did what they did well.  So, why the two stars?

Rip-off artists.  Absolutely get a second opinion on price before you have them do anything.
Clearly, they have been coached that these system checkups are sales opportunities, and they push it far beyond the limit.  Every single time they came, they found that our system which was working just fine needed $700+ in new and often different repairs.  This was true for all of the many technicians who visited us over the years.  Their price estimates were always a lump sum, which they refused to itemize by labor charges, labor time, or parts cost.  There is a reason for that.  We paid their fee once for a single part, which it took the guy maybe 10 minutes to install.  It was not a wildly expensive part, so I guess they make thousands of dollars per hour!

The last straw was when they claimed two parts in the outside a/c unit were showing signs of wear and might fail us if we did not replace them.   The price?  A lump sum over $700, as usual.  I followed up with questions to determine exactly which parts we were talking about.  With great reluctance, the tech eventually let me know which parts they were.  I got on the phone with the parts shop in Charlotte and learned that each part cost only a little over $20.  Both were plug and play parts that required neither smarts nor effort nor time to install.  At the absolute most, installation with testing would take 20 minutes.  $650+ for 20 minutes work?  Rip-off!  They had also wanted $700 plus installation for a new pan under our attic cooling unit.  They can be purchased online for a tiny fraction of that amount.  Rip-off!

That's how they afford the fancy trucks, the crisp uniforms, and salaries that exceed $85K/year (per a conversation I had with one of them once) for a technician.  Go elsewhere.

Called them out of desperation when my A/C went out. Service tech said my system was fried and said I should replace with them AND replace all my duct work?? I have a 1400 sq. ft. townhouse and he wanted $10,000!!! I knew better b/c I have replaced a system in a house nearly twice the size for around $7,000 and had dual-zone climate upgrade installed. I sent the MJ guy on his way and called the company I used in the past. They came out and laughed at the quote and especially the replacing of the duct work. They replaced my system 2 days later with a Trane heat pump for $5,300. I will NEVER call MJ again. Stop all your stupid, professional grade advertising and you won't have to pass the cost onto your potential customers. I am not a sucker :)

Although calling any HVAC/plumbing outfit usually means you're about to drop quite a bit of cash, I have to say that these guys are pretty good.  The customer service, both over the phone and in person, was impeccable.  Live operators no matter when you call, including nights and weekends.  Once in our home the service tech was polite and had our best interest in mind.  He was honest and open about the problem and the costs associated with it.

When you use them to make repairs they will credit the majority of your diagnostic fee towards your incurred costs.

One thing that I was not too pleased with was that I didn't have cool air at my house [that] night.  Granted it was the beginning of the summer and they are surely busy folks, but they advertise same day service so I was somewhat disappointed to find out that they were booked up and couldn't get us in until the next day.  It just so happened that we were out of town the next day so we had to wait 2 more days to have our AC up and running.  In the meantime we sat in 90+ degree temps.

In the end, the work was done with little hassle and/or interruption.  I would certainly solicit their services again if in a similar situation and I definitely recommend them to anyone in need of HVAC/plumbing repair or evaluation.

Morris came out to fine out why my Heat Pump was not cooling they added the stuff to make it cold changing about $600.00 and the guy said if I would get in their program were I pay a set fee they would reduce the cost so I did. They said they would come out in June and service my system and in the winter to I have not seem them since. The money has come out of my account since and so I call them today they said my phone number was wrong. If that was wrong how did they call me when they came out the first time. If you have free money they will take.

Before Morris Jenkins stepped foot in our home on June 18, 2019, our hot water worked. Since then, negligence from untrained/unqualified technicians, lies, and a flooded house kept us out of our home for 8 days. That meant we were and in and out of hotels, all while my husband spent countless hours, 30+ to be exact, meeting with technicians, managers, and a restoration crew. We explained from the beginning that our tankless water heater required a highly-experienced and highly-trained tankless water heater technician. All we needed was preventive maintenance. Morris Jenkins claimed they were sending someone highly trained. That never happened!

Once our ceiling dried out and got repainted due to The Great Flood caused by one of the technicians, we then moved back into our home where we are still currently without hot water and it's July 3. This is unacceptable. This has left us appalled and disgusted with Morris Jenkins. Morris Jenkins simply responded with, sorry we can't help you anymore, and they reimbursed our $89 service fee. Did I mention I'm 32 weeks pregnant, living in a home with no hot water?  From start to finish there were a TOTAL of 6 technicians that stepped foot into our home. A $400 preventative maintenance has turned into our worst nightmare, and now we're forced to purchase a brand-new tankless water heater in excess of $5K due to the mishaps Morris Jenkins simply won't own. It's unbelievable that this is a locally-owned company who claims high integrity, customer service, and trustworthiness. That couldn't be farther from the truth.

We've been repeat customers from A/C Services to plumbing ever since we bought our house in 2013. After the issue wasn't resolved, I was told by a Morris Jenkins service manager that a representative from the manufacturer of our unit, Rheem, would be sent to our home to look at our unit, and that was a lie as well.

To sum things up, Morris Jenkins provided poor workmanship without consideration for making things right. Their response to multiple acts of ignorant negligence and lies was to install flame rods in our already working tankless water heater as a routine service. Unfortunately, they didn't have the knowledge or basic skills to properly work on a tankless unit and left us high and dry with a unit that no longer produces hot water. I would not recommend this shady, greedy company to anyone. They never even offered a significant discount to install a new unit after all the trouble they've caused us. What kind of customer service is that?

If you're looking for a legitimate Heating & Air Conditioning company, I've heard excellent things about Bradham Brothers, and they even came out to our house in the midst of this mess to help us try to resolve our issues. They're a company who actually cares about doing an excellent job, and leaving their customers happy and satisfied.

A/C stopped working at midnight and I had two babies in the house. made the appointment online after using their self diagnosis checklist, which was pretty cool. The next morning I got a  call from a service tech, Josh, to let me know when he would arrive. Josh was professional and punctual, he diagnosed the issue quickly, explained the benefits of being a priority advantage member and assured me that he would confidently have my A/C system up and running in an hour. Josh was even kind enough to patiently wait longer than he should have in order for my wife to get home from work and pay for his services. Needless to say we are now priority advantage member, our A/C worked flawless for 10 years and I'm sure the team at Morris-Jenkins will keep it in great working order for at least another 10.

Absolutely would not recommend anyone using this service. Made appointment, technician never called to let me know he was going to be 4 hours late. Called office, not so much as an apology! Not only did it cost me to not be at work, they never showed. Horrible customer service and will never consider or recommend them to anyone, do yourself a favor and avoid the headache and frustration.

If I had zero stars I would give them zero. I had young guy Matt came  to check my unit told me that unit had to be replaced  . They charge me $89 dollar to come and check diagnosed . He went to attic cane down twice and told me what need to be done. I don't know much about furnaces all I know I would get up there clean sensors myself and unit worked. I had surgery on my knee so I couldn't do it. Anyways he told me he did same and charge me 144 plus 89 for one hour maybe . He look annoyed cause I didn't want to replace unit  with his extremely expensive company that heavily advertised with peoples hard earned money. I complained to him I would not buy an $8000 grand unit from them and that he charge me for something I've been doing for months he did not change any but use a piece of sand paper even though he say he did not . He said use some kind of metal wool . Never told me if he did that that he would charge me that kind of money. He could've done that for the 89 dollars I felt robbed on my I own house. I don't recommend this Company or their techs I'm sure they're all trained to do this . Do your research before they come ask question and do not let them use you ladder either I did,  he left it  behind my garage door knowing I just had surgery guess he was pissed he couldn't get me for more.i just had a estimate to replace unit with a private contractor and a total new unit for 1/4 of the price he had given me.

I was promised during a sales pitch from a Morris Jenkins rep that if i bought a tank-less water heater through them that i would get a manufacturer rebate and that i wouldn't have to do a darn thing to get the rebate. i was promised that Morris Jenkins would handle the entire matter. Well i bought the water heater, had them install it, now here it is months later and i still haven't received the rebate check. I've followed up a few times. Today when i called again to ask the whereabouts of the check they told me that wouldn't help me and that i should stop calling them. By the way they agree and acknowledge i was promised a rebate check and that they promised to handle the operational aspects of getting it. They just don't agree to make it happen. At this point i expect them to follow up but they won't. Really they should just write me the check and have it come out of Mr. Jenkins deep pockets.

I should have known not to believe anything a sales person says. I was stupid and didn't even get the promise in writing. Lesson learned - folksy commercials are just misleading.

I had someone from Morris Jenkins come out tonight and tell me my garbage disposal needed replaced as it was making noise and my pipes needed replaced. I told them no thanks and sent him on his way. Fortunately I saved the $700 or more they estimated and with a little advice from a family member, I fixed  my own problem moving a drainage line a little higher from the garbage disposal and removing a few pieces of small plastic out of my garbage disposal. It still cost me $89 for the diagnosis.  Very disappointed.

I called Morris Jenkins after receiving a quote from another plumbing company that was way out of my budget.
Tore P. came the same day I called, on a Friday evening! He was great. Friendly and professional.
Turns out there was two ways to go with my repair. He explained both and I chose the one my budget would allow.
He couldn't get the specialty part that late on a Friday but scheduled to do it on Saturday.
I called Saturday morning and asked if he could bring two parts to do both showers, which he did.
Both showers were done for less than the one shower quoted by the other company.
I would definitely use them again!

As a priority advantage customer, it was time to have the furnace checked.  I was given a two-hour window and a guarantee that I would be called 30-45 minutes ahead of the visit.  Right on time, Julian phoned to let me know that he was about 45 minutes out.  Julian was respectful of me and my time, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about my systems, and didn't try to upsell me. My experience with Julian is one of the reasons why I am a Morris Jenkins priority customer!

I woke up to no hot water.  Emailed and got an appointment for the same day....$89 service charge.  So far so good.  The technician showed up within window.  Took a look at my water heater.  Then went out to his truck for over 15 minutes and came back with 3 options....$139, over $400, or around $3,000 for a new water heater.  Asked me to sign commitment for one, so of course I go for the $139.  He then goes to my water heater, presses the reset button, and guess what?  Hot water.  Shouldn't you be told the problem, costs, and then make a commitment?  Then goes back out to the truck for another 15 minutes and brings me a bill for $234.  To press the reset button!  Not happy and won't use again.

We got quotes from 3 different companies. MJ was offering to put in the lowest quality HVAC unit for the highest price by far. They had offered to do a major project for $18,000 but when pressed admitted it did not need to be done. Bottom line, they charged double the company we went with, that used a much better quality unit. Will never do business with Morris Jenkins again. Ever.

Their Advantage program is a joke. You have to book seasonal tune up more than 30 days in advance and then you get very limited dates and times. Since you pay for this Advantage program up front they got you over a barrel by making it difficult and inconvenient for the customer. It's a scam to get your money and create a hassle for the customer to get the service he paid for. Go with a smaller more responsive company and save some money to boot. So disappointed.

I was a priority advantage customer for 3  years, from 2013 through 2016.  I was happy with their service end I considered it honest until spring 2017 when I requested my regular priority advantage Maintenance.  My air-conditioning was running just fine on my three-year-old unit. After the tech finished cleaning my coils on the outdoor unit, I walked away to do other business as he seem trustworthy. About 20 minutes later he came to me and said that I needed a $12 part and he would charge me $320 with my discount. I chose not get the part and try my luck since the air-conditioning had been working fine.  I have since gone through 3 of the hottest summers on record without any problems at all, without buying that insanely marked up part!  Priority advantage customers are supposed to be getting discounts for the regular monthly payments and the best they can do is $320 for a $12 part? When they already have the unit open and being serviced? $100 isn't good enough for them?  In my opinion Morris Jenkins honest service has gone down since they've spent so much money on the stupid commercials that are on TV every 10 minutes. I will stay with the small business man that I could trust.   So i'm now starting out my 4th summer with the same part that morris jenkins advised me to replace in 2017 at a cost of $320. I will continue updating this review until that part ACTUALLY fails! Every year morris jenkins is looking more and more crooked. #greedkills. #stickwiththesmallbusinessowner

My heater does not get above 62 when the temperature is below 20. I called Morris Jenkins who send a technician to my home. He informed me that the unit needed to be replaced because the coil was bad and its leaking freon. He quoted me $6000 to repair and $10,000 for a new unit. The next day temperature went above 20, temperature in the house went up 73. I went for a second opinion. There was a leake and my coil is good. I have a heat pump so when the temperature drops below 20 it cannot handle it. My system is fine.

I've used them twice. Once for a plumbing issue and once to replace my ac/heating system. Both times they were great, on time, great service, and explained everything. The salesperson is just that a salesperson who is on commission so I don't hold that against them. Just price check and negotiate. Customer service is very good as well.

If you're seeing a lot of reviews that tell you the same thing, believe them. The owner seems so nice on the commercials, but he's running a business to take advantage of people when they are more vulnerable. It's disgusting. My AC went out yesterday, and I immediately thought to call Morris-Jenkins. I grew up in the area, watching their commercials. Well, I guess they need to overcharge to pay for the commercials. I was told that my fan starter and motor were dead, and I'd need to put $1,200 into the unit to get it started. I was also advised that I may not want to invest that much into the repair because the coils were also leaking, so it may make more sense to replace the unit. I requested an estimate, and for a 1750 sq ft house, they quoted me $13,950!!! I knew that sounded high, so I decided to stay in my 85 degree house for another day while waiting for other estimates. The top of the line options from other reputable companies were still under $12,000, and their recommendations came in between $7k - $8.5k. Oh, best part... I paid $425 to get a new air capacitor, 1 pound of refrigerant, AND an annual maintenance plan with another company, so I'm typing this review in a comfortable house. I can't believe I was almost duped by the price gouging here.

Excellent experience with Morris-Jenkins

My heat went out on one of the coldest days of the year.  It was a Saturday morning and I expected to not get a technician until the next day or later.  I got an appointment for the 1-4 timeslot and he arrived right at 1!

Rob Hess was very professional.  He thouroughly checked my unit.  Thermostat was the cause and fixed withing 30 minutes.  He also did some minor cleaning in the unit at no additional charge.  Rob explained everything before he left to ensure I was comfortable with the new thermostat, including getting it programmed.  Being most technicians, they would have just left me to do this on my own.

Definately have won a repeat customer!

Tech Chris Stapleton came out this past week to perform the PM for our heating system. Yes I get ready early. He was on time and very polite and respectful to both my wife and myself. We have a contract with Morris Jenkins and won't be renewing. They get 2 stars because they are prompt. Our garbage disposal was leaking so we called MJ. They wanted to charge us $485 ($200 for disposal + $285 for labor). We declined and purchased a new one ourselves and had our handyman to put it in.  Saved almost $300. We're scheduled for a regular A/C maintenance next week.  I'm quite sure they'll find something wrong and want to charge hundreds of dollars. Each time they come out, they try selling us something. It is quite obvious that their techs double as salespersons.

I recently thought my AC Unit was leaking in my attic and causing a leak through my bedroom ceiling. I called Morris Jenkins about it and they sent out Rob, who was very nice and very professional. He went into the attic and brought to my attention that my Water Heater was falling off of its supports and was getting ready to fall through my ceiling. He also called a plumber who was able to come out immediately to take a look at it as well. While I ultimately went with another plumber for the work, I truly appreciate Rob going the extra mile in order to make sure that the issue was addressed. Rob, then also confirmed that this wasn't an issue with the AC Unit but it was a roof issue and that I needed to contact the HOA for that. He also cleaned out the unit in my backyard and washed it and removed all of the leaves and debris that had piled up in there over the years. I have definitely noticed a change for the better in the cooling of my home and really appreciate Rob for servicing my AC unit!

We just moved into our new house about a week prior. The air conditioner stopped working one night so we called Morris Jenkins. They came out the next day when I was at work, but my wife and 2 4 year olds were home. The technician told my wife that it was a blown fuse and that it was fixed but that he was almost knocked down with the smell of gas coming from our crawl space. At no point did he call the gas company, emergency services or even ask my family to leave until it could properly be ventilated. They turned the gas off until an estimator could come out that night. The estimator stated that the furnace was not operational and that it needed to be replaced and was very forceful in trying to get us to replace the second zone heating and air conditioning also. We could not afford it so we agreed to replace the first zone furnace because they made us fear for ours and our children's lives with the gas leak. Work was performed the next day. While an obviously new person showed my wife how to operate the new thermostat, she asked him about the gas leak. He clearly had no idea what leak she was talking about. When she asked him again, he remembered, oh yeah, I was almost knocked down with the smell. He used the same exact wording, like it was a script. How could it smell under there if it was turned off and ventilated so it was safe for us to stay in the house? I've worked in emergency services for over 10 years and the answer is that there was no leak. They would have had my family exit the house , called the fire department and gas company until the house was ventilated and deemed safe. I called Piedmont Natural gas and confirmed that if a contractor smells gas, they must call the gas company. The next day, I asked for a very detailed invoice detailing absolutely everything that was done. I received that invoice and no gas line work was done, especially no pressure tests for anything to determine where the leak was. I asked the technician to send me pictures of the old furnace which they stated had a burnt out mother board, blower motor that didn't work because it was covered in dust. I received the pictures and they showed some dust on the blower wheel and no discoloration on the circuit board, whatsoever. Moreover, the previous homeowners were meticulous and had all the units serviced often and kept all of the records. As a side note, we had two plumbers in the crawl space earlier that week to give us estimates on stove work and there was no gas leak. I had the pictures reviewed by hvac techs and they stated that there was no overheating on that circuit board. Morris Jenkins used fear mongering to get us to spend $8400 on a new furnace.

I have to say I am very happy with the service and service techs, however not at all happy with the financial end of the business. I have experienced 2 financial shocks since dealing with them, the first was the monthly cost for the AC, as it almost doubled within a few months of signing the contract. At that time I said nothing as I thought maybe I had missed something and it was a promotional rate, however I most recently saw a huge increase in my Platinum service monthly fee, as it jumped by 20.00 per month. I am bothered by the fact that, there have been 2 separate incidents where I do not remember them discussing an increase in monthly costs and when I call in to discuss it with their customer service representative, their main focus seemed to be more on validating the high value of the plan and not at all on my concerns with the fact that twice I had experienced a huge blow to my monthly budget because something was not fully disclosed by their personnel. It goes to show that their main focus as a company is getting my money and not building my loyalty. Lesson learned and in the future i will look for a company that truly cares about building a long term relationship with its customers and not just getting my money.

Update on review:

Bret the original person who came out and did our estimate and went over the paperwork with us, did take the time to call me about my concerns and was excellent. He helped my understand the changes and apologized if things weren't clear when we went over them initially. I feel like he went the extra mile and is a real asset to their company

Thought it would be a good experience, was disappointed. I had a similar experience to Mike C. from another review. I found their salesman to be sketchy as well. He claimed that their brochures were proprietary information and wouldn't provide a copy. He also wouldn't give a model number for any unit so that I could at least research what I was being sold. He wrote his estimates for standard, deluxe and premium on a sheet of notebook paper. It seemed very unprofessional. And I agree that their pricing was way high. I just didn't feel I could trust them.  I need to make an informed decision on a major purchase. They may be a fine company,  I certainly could be overreacting, but things just felt like they were trying to take advantage of us.

Yesterday, we had our second service for the year. Pat, the technician, was abrasive -- suspect he was trying to impress his trainee or maybe that is just his nature.  Virtually everything was wrong with one of our units which seems to be the normal with Morris-Jenkins.  He even found fault with the filters we were using.  Even though I am a senior citizen, I felt like I was back in the first grade getting chastised by the teacher. When he said it is what it is set the tone for our future relationship with MJ. Don't believe the commercials you see on TV.

Every time someone from MJ has been to our house, something has been wrong. I guess that's the way they pay for those annoying commercials. Never again with this company.

The first company I had come out told me my AC system needed 2 lbs of Freon, charged me $250 and then left. When that didn't fix the problem they then told me I needed an entirely new system and quoted me $3,500 for the work to be done. Insert Morris Jenkins - Rob H came out, replaced two parts, and had my system working again for about $750. Rob was also very professional and took the time to explain what was wrong with my system, the repairs he was doing, etc. The woman I spoke with on the phone at Morris Jenkins prior to Rob coming out to my home was also very professional, helpful, and informative as well. Thanks for saving me $2,750!

Our AC unit stopped working, we called them in.they  said it couldn't be fixed and tried to sell us a new unit for close to $10,000.
Thankful it was too high for us. We called another company to get a estimate. They came looked over the unit and got it running perfectly. The coils needed cleaning and some wiring repaired. It was fixed in a hour. I cancelled the priority plan MJ sold us  and Will never use them again.

Had tech out the past 2 years and paying for advantage customer service. They always find something wrong regardless of large or small. Their techs work on commissions cause its sell sell sell every time. Over priced, not trust worthy and go went with a different company that tells the truth. Everything is over priced with this company. Do not get stumped by this company and senior citizens beware.

One of my rental properties has had the original A/C unit that came with the house finally decided to bite the dust. Of course it happens on the hottest day in a very mild summer. My renter has small children so getting someone out there ASAP was very important.

Tried a few companies who quoted me a couple days to come out. Morris-Jenkins was able to visit the same day and repair it the next day. Seriously solved a issue and made me look like a awesome landlord.

The tech was courteous and helped me understand the exact problem. Made me feel very comfortable during a cringe worthy expensive for a rental property.

Ty B.and  Brandon A. represent the best of what Morris Jenkins stands for.  I have been doing business with Morris Jenkins since 2007 and have been impressed and well satisfied with sales representative Alan, installers, customer service reps over the phone, and service techs who inspect, clean, and service my equipment to keep it running like new.  Every review I have written has been stellar for Morris Jenkins and their team.  But I am writing this review because these two gentlemen have perfected the quality, customer service, and and care that Mr. Jenkins requires in his  business model.

Yesterday Ty arrived promptly and began standard maintenance on all of my equipment.  He was extremely polite, knowledgeable and as always a huge advocate of his company.  I always take time to talk to every tech and I always want to know how long they have worked for MJ and their future plans with the company.  Ty was no different from all the others and loves his job with MJ.  I always end up in the basement for a bit with the tech to inspect the whole house filter and make a decision on replacement.  Ty was closing up the unit, and then I observed him taking the condensation pump from the furnace and I asked why?  He explained it is routine and he was going to inspect it and clean it.  I explained that in all my years with MJ, to my knowledge it had never been taken apart and cleaned...and when he finally got it loose, one look inside revealed I was correct.  The entire unit was filled with crud and was in bad need of cleaning.  I am surprised it never failed....but give credit to the quality parts MJ uses.  Ty took it outside and used some of the same chemicals he cleaned my AC with and had it looking like new.  While he was placing the unit I decided to contact my friend who actually was an installer for MJ, but is now a district supervisor.  I sent him a photo of the unit before it was cleaned in hopes he would use it to explain to others the importance of cleaning this unit.  Even more important, I wanted him to know how impressed I was with Ty and his methodical approach to his job....leaving no stone unturned.  Brandon simply text back and ask if Ty was still there, which he was.  The next thing I see is Ty coming around the corner with a brand new pump.  Brandon had informed him that this pump should be replaced since required maintenance had not been completed on this unit in the past.....and it was to be replaced at company expense....again...the MJ way!

This is alone is enough for me to write this most positive review.  After working in the attic, Ty asks to speak to me and shows me a photo of bubbles from a gas pipe.  This pipe had been installed before MJ and had developed a slow leak.  He was not looking for it, but his nose found it.  Though he felt he might be able to make the repair on his own, he really wanted to bring in an MJ expert in duct work and gas lines ( they have experts in everything).  I was surprised to find Ty back this morning with a smile on his face along with Michael D. who Ty says is one of the best man in the company for this kind of work.  After over an hour they determined other issues with the pipe line that caused the leak to begin with....and the repair is still in progress as I write this....but when Ty and Michael leave....I will know the repair is done the MJ way...which is the right way.

Bottom line. Yes, I paid more initially for Morris Jenkins to put in my two dual fuel units in my home.  In the long run, I believe I have saved money with this company because my out of pocket expenses have been minimal.  I have invested in their maintenance contract and my units are still working like new.  Truthfully, I believe this time they saved me from a potentially life threatening....and certainly home threatening event as they complete repairs on gas pipes my previous HVAC company had installed improperly.  In my opinion, Morris Jenkins is simply the best because of the investment they make in their men and women to make them the best.  Thank you to Ty, Brandon, and Mike....and thank you to Mr. Jenkins for your insistence on top quality customer service.

My best,
Scott G

Worst experience on HVAC we have ever had.  We saw the commercials and thought we would try them out.  They fixed a pressure switch that was preventing the heater from running.  Overcharged us by $230 accorded to another Honest company we had to call in because they put the other unit (we gave 2 air handlers) circuit board in wrong.

We didn't want to call back Morris-Jenkins because the whole time the technician was using scare tactics on us....you should be worried about carbon monoxide with a unit this old (our HVAC is 12 years old).  Also, your entire system is at the end of life and you need to replace soon.

The other company reviewed everything and laughed.  In the next 3-5 years you may need to consider replacement, but no reason for concern.

DO NOT CALL this company.  My wife asked around to friends......similar stories are running around about overcharging for any task and scare tactics.

For a number of years, I have paid a monthly service fee to Morris-Jenkins to ensure that our HVAC system was operating properly.  Lately, the service calls have been resulted in some major repair needed.  Trusting their expert opinion,  I opted for and paid for these services.  However, the most recent service call has eroded my trust in Morris- Jenkins.  A tech came out to do the quarterly service on the heating unit.  Upon entering my home, the tech asked, Where is your carbon monoxide detector.  My response, the thermostat is here.  Instead, he was focused on seeking out the carbon monoxide detector.  Unable to locate it, the tech decided to check the HAVC unit.  After a  1/2 hour of checking out the system, the tech indicated that we had a cracked heat extender and carbon monoxide was leaking into our system.  He said that per policy, he could NOT turn the system back on because of the danger associated with the cracked heat extender dispensing carbon monoxide.  He recommended that we replace the system as asap.  After calling to setup a system engineer to come the next day, he packed up his tool and left, leaving us in the cold and concern about our safety. The next day, the system engineer shows up to review the system.  He quotes a 15-18K price tag to replace the system.  He emphasized that Morris-Jenkins was concerned about our safety and to not mess around with the heating unit.  I  decline to replace the system.  Upon exiting, the system engineer said, Morris-Jenkins is not liable if something happens to your family. We have given you the warning.  What is surprising and disappointing is that at no time did neither of the 2 Morris Jenkins techs offer to measure the carbon monoxide levels within my home.  Nor did they recommend calling the gas company or the fire department to ensure that carbon monoxide was not present in my home.  Does Morris-Jenkins, the leading HVAC company in Charlotte, not have the equipment to test carbon monoxide levels?  Pathetic!

I needed a new heat pump, so did a lot of research and called a number of locally owned business in Charlotte.  Everyone was fast, courteous and helpful in getting me quotes, estimates, etc.

Not Morris Jenkins.  They say they will respond to your website request in 30 minutes, and I didn't get a call back for nearly 24 hours, and that was after I called them to ask when a salesperson/estimator would call me.

Finally, 36 hours AFTER I submitted a request for an estimate, and two phone calls into their company, an estimator called.  His prices were between $2000-3000 HIGHER than the other three companies I called.  I asked him about that, and he decided that he should bash the brand I had been quoted on.  So he gave me a new quote, for another brand of heatpump, which was $2000 higher than the exact same model I had received from another company.  That's when I was told they must not have good installers to have a price like that, PLUS, if I bought a heatpump from Morris-Jenkins, I'd get a brand new iPad!

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying a new HVAC unit for my home just to get an iPad.  Nice try, guys, but maybe you should stop writing jingles on TV, and concentrate on getting your prices down.  Do your research, and buy from a locally owned and operated company.  There are some great ones to pick from, that will give you much better customer service.

The only reason I give them 1 star is because negative stars is not an option.  Called to replace 2 inline hot water heaters. Impressed with the prompt response and detail of the options.  Price quoted was $9683.  Price did include a carbon filter which would add 10 years to the life expectancy. Got pressure to sign Agreement but wanted an other price.  Got 2 prices $3100 and $3400 from highly reputable contractors who also stated the added 10 years claim was laughable.  Received a call the next day the Morris Jenkins guys were on the way claiming I had approved the unsigned agreement.  Since have learned that most of the workers are not Morris Jenkins employees but rather subcontractors.  Terrible and dishonest.

These are the highly annoying radio jingle folks who do HVAC service.

What I like about this outfit -
*  even on weekends and holidays, you talk to an actual customer service person when you call (and let's face it - you're calling because you're shivering in the winter or melting in the summer and you're not happy to start with)
*  they call just before they arrive, giving me a chance to corral the dogs
*  they show up when customer service promises they will - in fact, they often show up near the beginning of the window you get from customer service (closer to noon than to 3 pm when the window was 12 - 3)

Why did I knock off two stars?  Because they've been out to the house on service calls (not the routine maintenance plan we subscribed to) three times since June!  Twice for the A/C and once for the heat (yesterday).  Turns out the new blower motor they installed (for $1000) in August was the wrong one (they installed the electric heat pump version on our gas furnace).  This alone would have taken them down to two stars.  But they redeemed themselves by admitting the error, removing the wrong blower, installing the correct motor - and not charging us a penny, not even the normal $69 for setting foot inside of the door.

I'd use them again and I'd recommend them to others.

Ripoff. Called them to replace faulty igniter and starter in fireplace. Looked at gas line, rearranged logs and quoted me $2,700 to replace the igniter and starter but with logs included, which I didn't need. Told me it was an all in one arrangement and charged me $225 for this sage, but incorrect, advice before departing. Hearth & Patio replaced what I needed for $150 with additional $125 service charge. I guess Morris-Jenkins pays for their TV commercials by gouging their customers. Avoid.

This company is the biggest ripoff I have ever encountered in my 54 years of working with heating and air repair companies. I called MJ for regular seasonal maintenance. They quoted me more than $4000 for a repairs stating I would die if I turned on my unit. I knew this was not accurate so I called a reputable repair man and found out there was absolutely nothing wrong with my unit, in fact he said it was in amazingly good shape. He actually showed me where everything quoted by MJ was a complete lie including needing new exhaust blower motor which was clearly working perfectly. I'm fact, every part on the MJ quote was working perfectly and in very good shape. I later found out these repairmen work on commission. All they want to do is sell you a new unit. MR JENKINS YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF AND PERHAPS INVESTIGATED. I wonder how many people have been ripped off from these rip off artists. I am so grateful I got a second opinion. Run from this company.

The system Morris Jenkins installed vibrated so much that it rattled our dishes. They did not fix it while we were on the the maintenance contract. We had someone out from Morris Jenkins for another issue, and he told us our unit should not be vibrating. We would told it would cost $700 to fix it.

We had a service technician come to our house today. His name is Michael Reep.  He talked with my husband. He was very professional and courteous and also very detailed. I'm certain we made the right choice when we decided on Morris Jenkins for our heating/cooling needs.

Way over priced period.
Had my unit repaired, 2 months later the part they replaced failed. Offered to give a $2400 credit toward a new system, but the quote after the credit was still thousands over their competitor Brothers.

Avoid at all costs. I will be using Charlotte Mechanical, Brothers, or One Hour.

Do not use.

This place is as crooked as it gets. They sent a salesman out to my Mothers house, right now as I'm typing this. He is a total tool nugget trying to high pressure her into a whole new unit without even looking at the problem. Crooked. Then after being told she wanted to see what was wrong he has to call in an actual repair tech. Typical. If you are a woman do not deal with this place. I'm sure they thought they'd send out the ex con salesman to try to turn the screws.

Terrible communication. Left me waiting over 3 hours only to call and be told that they won't be able to help as they do not service high rises.

So the story goes...I emailed Morris Jenkins and made a service appointment online. I provided my address and phone number along with information about accessing my building as I am uptown. After multiple emails, the customer service rep had a clear understanding of what I needed and where I was located. Even going as far as asking if the building mechanic would be onsite to allow access to my unit. They were available the next day from 1-4pm. Perfect.

So I am trapped in my condo for 3 hours while I wait for the technician to show. 3 hours pass without a call or email. I call Morris Jenkins at 4:15pm only to find out that they do not service high rises. Supposedly, the technician tried to call me. Garbage; I was waiting on my phone all day and had no voice mail. Professionals would leave a voice mail if a call was made without answer.

Lesson learned. Appointment scheduled with another service provider.

If I could rate them lower, I would.  We signed up for their Priority Advantage service and when they quoted us $10,000 for a new unit (we needed two for a total of $20,000) we looked around and found a service that set us up with two new units for less than half the price quoted by Morris Jenkins.  We then cancelled our service contract with Morris Jenkins and they continued to bill us for three months.  Each time we got a credit back on our account, but it was very frustrating to have to deal with this each month.  Look around for another company.  Morris Jenkins is very over priced (I guess they have to pay for their cheesy ads some how) and are rather sketchy in how they continue to bill for cancelled services.

I recently had my AC serviced it needed a starter motor he replaced it but went on to tell me what bad shape the unit was in and it would need to be replaced as soon as possible my heating unit too. Then he went into the attic, when he came down he said the duct work wasn`t any good wasn`t vented something, something and showed me a picture on his phone of a badly rusted water heater top he said this is your water heater it`s not leaking yet but could at anytime so I went up to the attic myself to check it out, it looks like brand new the picture he showed me didn`t even look like my heater top. What a liar! He charged me $457.26 the starter motor is only a $20.00 part.

Though they did come out when I was having trouble getting someone to check out my unit, when I got a quote the cheapest that they could do was $17,000 for unit and new duct work. I literally think my jaw hit the floor. The salesperson proceeded to claim the tariffs that had gone into place were driving prices up. Btw almost $800 for disposal and if you rent a truck and take it to a scrap yard you will get about the cost of renting the truck for scrapping. When I said I would dispose sales guy actually said he could just take that completely off and do it. Shady. I looked into my guy and told him i could do it whenever he was available and he did all the work for $10,000 less!  Sure it took 3 more days, but i think I can sweat for $3,333 a day. Morris Jenkins is a total rip taking advantage of people that are desperate. Furthermore, they offer the worst financing in the world and try to sell it hard. Over 9% interest for financing!!!

I have had my AC serviced and then my heater and my bill for each service was within $20 around 585 and my experience with the priority advantage service has been anything but an advantage.First my priority advantage was cancelled then when trying to sign up again the email signature was working properly called Morris-Jenkins and the person who handled that was unavailable and would call back well we were not called so called the next day reached the lady that handled the Priority Advantage she resent the email for signature and said she had received it back with signature. Now I have received the email again and when I called Morris-Jenkins today once again the lady handling this was unavailable and would call back still waiting for phone call . The bottom line is if you have a service done it will cost between 500-600 and if somebody promises to callback you will not hear from them

I just purchased my house and I needed to develop a relationship with an hvac company.  I found Morris Jenkins on Angie's List and I also had a recommendation from a friend so I called them.

The day arrived, and Alvo knocks on my door... to say that he gets it is an understatement.  From the very beginning he was above expectation by asking if the parking space he chose was acceptable.  Who does that?  It's awesome that he did because the parking gets my neighbors upset, so I really appreciated that he asked that question.  The appointment just rolled right along from there:  He asked to see the components, he told me exactly what he was going to do and he commenced to doing it.  Alvo ended up being at my house for three hours.  He dismantled the entire unit and cleaned it from top to bottom.  I watched the process and he was thorough.  I was blown away by what all went into the service, he answered questions when I had them and explained what he found and what the options would be.  He did offer services but they were helpful like air filters being sent to my house.  I really was impressed with my service from Morris Jenkins and I think I made a good decision to keep my hvac running efficiently  :-)

Best in town hands down. I've been a Priority Customer for several years and can't say enough about the Morris Jenkins team. One of the outstanding things that makes this company different is that they actively seek ways to improve their installations based on customer feedback as well as from their Techs who are out in the field. What is very impressive is that they have their own university where they reach their Techs the most up to date HVAC technology. My unit is 14 years old and has to be replaced, both the furnace and air conditioner. I was happy to know that it fell right within my budget and financing was available so that I can have monthly payments that did not impact my budget too much. Special shout out to Chad (sales tech) Darryl (customer service) and my HVAC tech Jeff who went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed as well as educating me and showing me hands on the issues with my unit as well as providing me options that make the most sense. I would highly recommend them to any homeowner within the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. They are priority program is the best $20 a month that you'll ever spend and yes it has its advantages!

We have a service contract with MJ, so we received a call and email to schedule our Free maintenance appointment. Both times they came out, our system was working perfectly fine before they came, and then stopped working immediately after they leave. I had to call them back out to get it working again and we were told it was coincidence both times. They try to make it seem like they are cutting us a break by not charging us a fee to come back out, just charging for parts and labor. Seems shady to me!!!

I wish if there was a zero star, the guy came to my house looking very professional, wearing gloves and scrubs on his shoe, showed him the unit, it was a test before I turn the heater on in the winter time, he kept Wes whistling and looking at me, saying oh my God I've never seen such a thing, and I am looking at him what seems to be the problem, and he started whistling again and said wow I can't believe this, so I'm looking at him and saying what seems to be the problem, he goes well I have good news and bad news, the bad news is you need a new unit for $9800, But the good news is we can install it for you that he started laughing, I said thank you so much the second day my handy man came over to take a look at it, he said the tray needs to be changed, it seemed it got really hot so it melted, the good news is I can change it for $75 and I will charge you 75 for my trip total 150, I was so pissed but the tech of Morris Jenkins, how many people have they tricked, now I wonder how they pay for their commercials on TV

These guys came out because our HVAC unit was down. Their tech came out and looked over the system. He came to the door and said we need a whole new system that was going to cost over $10k. The house is only 6 years old so we found that rather odd. We called another company and he repaired the system. Good as new for less than $500. Morris Jenkins charged us $89, and we thought that they had cheated us because they didn't actually do anything and their diagnosis was off. My wife and I made a dozen calls in to their offices but they never bothered to return a single call. Would not recommend.

Over the weekend, my kitchen drain was clogged mainly because I shoved too much food down the disposal, definitely a dumb move. Note: none of my other drains were clogged. I called Morris Jenkins (Charlotte area) to set up an appointment for a $77 service special to unclog drains. I should have known better. The plumber came out, yet mainly did an evaluation of my plumbing. I live in an old neighborhood in Charlotte and my wastewater pipes are cast iron yet none were leaking. The plumber had 3 service options. One was $20,000 to replace all plumbing and  water heater. I couldn't believe the technician looked at the water heater. The call was to unclog a drain. Long story, I paid the 77 dollars, he left and my drain was still clogged. I asked him why he did not use the clean out which is very accessible in my basement, immediately underneath my kitchen sink drain, and he said it was because it was full. Of course, it is full; I called to unclog a drain. I called an individual plumber with no large corporate affiliation. He came unclogged the drain and assured me there was no real reason to replace any of my plumbing. I can continue, but I won't. Do not call them for service, especially a special. it is a sales tactic to get in your house to attempt to scare you into buying improvements that you do not need. My plumbing/waste pipes/water heater may fail one day and that is when I will fix them.

Wow!! I can't say enough about this company. I woke up this morning freezing because my heat went out over night. I called Morris-Jenkins and they were here in a timely manner. Our upstairs air conditioning system quit operating and we woke up to a hot upper level at my house.  When I called they had same day service available but I chose to opt for the early appointment the next morning.   8am the next morning Andrew arrived right on time and got right to work.  Excellent customer service, very transparent and informative on what the issues are, took videos and photos to show me exactly where my problems were on the equipment.  No sales pitchy tactics at all, very matter of fact analysis of the issues with several options to review.  I chose to become a Priority Advantage member on the spot based on the obvious high level of customer service, the benefits to the program and the fact that given the work I needed done it nearly paid for itself.  I look forward to Morris-Jenkins maintaining my systems in the coming years

I came home to find the air conditioner blowing hot air and the fan blades not moving on the outside air conditioner.  I went to call Anderson air but it was after 9 pm and their offices were closed.  I went online and found the number for Morris Jenkins.  I completed the online info and then made a call to the office to schedule a visit after I received an email.  The customer rep was helpful and I had an appointment for between 9am and noon the next day.  All of this was completed within a half hour.  The serviceman Jarrett F.  was fantastic.  He arrived at 9:45am and my air was running before 11 am.  I'm not looking for air conditioning problems anytime soon but Morris Jenkins will be the first place I call.

I WAS a so called Priority Advantage customer. Hot water heater issue called MJ, tech came by (Shane) did a visual on unit claims based on his visual with what he observed I need a new unit. Granted garage had water everywhere no hot water a mess to say the least. Like Mike C. stated salesman knows right buzzword to get you to buy buy buy!!!  Long story short I agree to a new unit. The next day got a chance to do some homework on what I had agreed to with MJ. Come to find out they grossly overcharged me for the whole set up. I fell for the whole spiel mainly due to no water and I was in a  difficult spot which they fully to advantage of. Possibly my fault as well for not taking my time and getting a second opinion. I did call next day and cancelled my so called priority advantage contract. Just be mindful of their tactics before you do anything with them. Like Mike C. said get a SECOND OPINION PLEASE!!!!

Great service. Our ac system stopped working yesterday. We were customers with another company but they never called me back, even though they had 24 hr emergency services. The guys here have been amazing. My husband called yesterday evening asking if they could help even though we were not customers. Not only did they help us troubleshoot on the phone, they scheduled a technician to come out at 8am this morning (again, we were not customers yet and they were able to get us seen right away). The service tech, Sadie, was great. She was on time and walked us through everything. She didn't push us to do any kind of work, but gave our options and allowed us to decide without pressuring us. She even apologized that she couldn't make it out yesterday as they were busy and booked. When we decided to monitor our system, she even showed us what to look for if something went wrong again so we can accurately fix the correct part instead of guessing and spending extra money. Needless to say we immediately switched our service agreement with these guys. Super nice and helpful, a thousand times better than the company we now used to have.

Let me start by saying I'm 7 months pregnant and temps reached high 90's today. Of course our AC downstairs stopped working, and I immediately went into DEFCON 1 mode. Called Morris Jenkins and they were able to come out almost immediately, within a few hours. Called when they were in their way. Showed up on time. Super nice and professional. Luckily ours was a simple fix. In fact I'm a bit too embarrassed to even say what it was but noticing how novice we were about taking care of our AC unit the tech took the time to educate us on basic maintenance etc. we have run into a lot of problems and I have been consistently frustrated/disappointed with contractors but Morris Jenkins was not one. We will continue to use them:)

Every interaction I had with Morris-Jenkins from diagnostic on my broken unit, to sales consultation, to new unit install was exemplary. All employees arrived on time, were polite, uniformed, well kept and knowledgable. Within a five minute conversation I had signed on for Preferred Advantage as I had been planning to get my A/C units serviced anyway and had an appointment for a diagnostic check within a few hours. Mike the repair tech, Chad the sales person, and Howard & Brian my installers were all a joy. Particularly Chad, who took the time to be educational without being boring, was extremely helpful and responsive in deciding financing and timing, and found me and my husband the best option to cool and heat our home. Having to replace an a/c unit is never fun, and having to replace your furnace at the same time isn't either, but these guys made the experience less painful! I highly recommend Morris-Jenkins based on responsiveness, quality, and customer service. I will note that they were not the cheapest quote- but the best never is. You get what you pay for, folks! Very happy cool customer here!

I saw their commercial on TV where they want to come across so caring. I called them a few years back and before they would even come to my home they wanted to charge my credit card $350.00. I told them no thanks and called Brothers Morris-Jenkins who came right out and spent a good bit of time fixing my unit. The charge which I gladly paid was $80. I don't know how Morris-Jenkins stays in business but if I can save one person that misery this review is worth it.

From start to finish Morris Jenkins was prompt, intelligent, and friendly when helping me get my heater problem fixed. Typically I despise even calling up a contractor in any industry because of the typically experience you receive. This was different.

The repairman(Kurt Newton) arrived a day later then I hoped, but I realize I called during the first 'cold' of the year. I should have known 'Winter Is Coming' and an issue would arrive. He spotted the problem within minutes. My unit was older so he had to call in and acquire the odd part I needed. He left and then returned later that evening. The part install seemed quick and before I knew it heat was pumping into my house again.

Kurt explained they offer a service package that would allow me to get same day service. Still considering signing up for that since I have a newborn on the way.

Minus the day wait I give the company 5+ stars. Really enjoyed the experience(as much as I could when it comes to a broken item in my house.)

I joined the Morris-Jenkins Priority Program a couple of years ago after a competitor failed to deliver. A big step up in quality and service. Travis was my recent Tech: he was intelligent and well-versed on the equipment, not only to work on but to explain and provide proactive options. Everything was in detail, no pressure but I felt educated on my system. I've M-J for routine maintenance and when my system was down....5 stars always.

First of all, these people at this company are EXTREMELY NICE & there's no wait time if you're needing an appointment.  The one thing I'd urge is getting a 2nd opinion.  They told me I needed to change my A/C & Furnace & it would be $12,000 (yep, you read that right).  They tried to get me financed through their system but I didn't qualify.  This became a very stressful situation because my A/C was leaking & it was going to be about $400-$500/monthly (& I had already did it twice) to keep adding freon (sp) plus who has $12K on hand for something like this.  I contacted my Father In Law (he owns his own electrical business) & he had his A/C Repair friend who owns his own company too & I was informed it would be $1800, it just needs a coil change & cleaned out in certain areas.  He said the employees at Morris Jenkins & Brothers get commission on their sales & make over $100K/yearly.  That they prey on the ignorance of customers concerning A/C Repair.  Basically Morris Jenkins told me it would be $12,000 to fix the issue when in reality it will only be $1800 ... Morris Jenkins' employees are great at customer service, just make sure you get a 2nd opinion on what needs fixed!

One star only because I couldn't give them none. In a nutshell $600 to replace a very common  repair item; the ignitor. And oh BTW they also did a burner cleaning. All this in 20 minutes - you be your own judge as to whether this should be someone you should be calling for your HVAC needs.

Morris Jenkins really delivers on customer service. No matter who answers the phone or calls me to schedule a seasonal inspection, they consistently exceed my expectations with their friendliness and prompt delivery of service. They also happen to have some pretty hot service men, who are easy on the eyes while crawling around your home checking your equipment.

However, they are extremely expensive as compared to three other local HVAC companies I've worked with. M-J suggested that my very old system needed replacing (3 other companies agreed; my system was 30 years old and I knew it was inevitable).  M-J's price for a similar system and similar warranty was more than $2000 higher than the company who did the work. I canceled my monthly service plan with M-J too, since the price for a similar service plan quoted by the installer of my new system was about $45 less per year.

I felt the pain of having to replace my HVAC system, but I kept my head and didn't panic and rush into giving M-J the job before taking bids from three other local companies. It really felt good to support the 'little guy' too, whose resources can't compare with those of M-J.

Heating and air conditioning repairs and replacements can be expensive and scary, but in a climate like Charlotte's, where we don't face prolonged, life-threatening extremes, it's worth taking the time to do the homework in order to save money.

Requested maintenance, made an appt for a week in advance, and was told they'd be here between 12-3:00.  I called at 2:30 to be sure they didn't forget.  Was told that I was down for 3:00-6:00.  Wrong.  But, okay.  Called again at 5:30, and was finally told the guy could be here at 6:30.  Canceled the appointment.

From my point of view, very questionable quoting practices by Morris-Jenkins. I asked them to come out to my townhouse to check the re-installation of a new thermostat. They came out, and quoted the lowest cost thermostat for $265. Asking what model it is, they said Honeywell 5000. I checked online, took me 5 seconds while on the phone,, and see this model is $44.99 new retail with full warranty.  That's a $200+ or 488% MARKUP !!

After asking if I can buy it myself and they install it?
No.

Even if it is the same brand/type/model, in original unopened packing?
Yes, not even then.

Why not?
We can only stand behind our work if we install the components we bring ourselves

In other words, their profitable markup model wouldn't work.

--------

The next item he quoted was a dual capacitor, for $388.
I told him, let me get a second opinion and have the feeling that this item might also be marked up $200.

He was short-lipped from there and thank you good bye.

I checked the capacitor, and figured out I was wrong. This item is not marked up $200, it is marked up $368, retails $20 new with warranty....

------

Why these practices?
Not amused.

I called M-J to give me a price on replacing the gas fired water heater in the attic with a tankless in the garage. When their very nice tech Chris and I looked at the old WH, there was a gas smell. We both agreed that it was the water heater, so I turned off the isolation valve. Chris said he could get a plumber out later that day to repair, so I agreed. We continued on the tankless project. Chris quoted $7300 to put in a  Rinnai tankless system. This is outrageous as you can buy the heater for under $1500 at a big box store or online. Nearly $6000 to install? Then he recommends another $2500 for a whole house water filter. So I declined and let them know the local gas company quoted at least 25% less (and I thought they were high).   Ok, so then the plumber shows up and looks at the water heater gas leak. He determined that the little Maxitrol gas regulator on both the water heater and adjacent furnace are both leaking. He quoted me $356 to repair. EACH. I question this,  $700 to replace these two little regulators, but ultimately agree as I can't have had leaking, right. He works for no more than a hour. The bill comes to $897. It seems he had to repipe a tiny bit of black pipe on one unit that added $50, and then there is the $89 trip charge and tax. By the way, Amazon sells the Maxitrol regulators for about $25. He might have used another $10 in black pipe fittings. So if we back out the tax and the trip charge, the work was $750-60( for parts) or $690 per hour for the labor. Not reasonable. Avoid these thieves.

This company is a BIG rip off!! Don't get sucked in by those heart warming commercials! Never believe what they say and ALWAYS get a second opinion if you call...You don't even need a third because anybody else will give you the truth and quote less than half of theirs! $800 for Freon which is about $130 a pound(most companies charge $60-65) and they said it was an untraceable leak and I need a NEW unit which was $6000 to $8000!! I called another company they filled it with Freon, changed my coils and it was $750...go figure. This company is definitely overs charging for their services and I thankful that I figured it out! JUST SOUNDED CONVENIENT!

We have a problem with unit. Even one tech said there was a problem. The next guy came out and said there was nothing wrong with the unit. The man was new and did not know what he was talking about. It was our insulation. He went into the addict and said we did not have any fiberglass in our addict. The house was built in 2004. The inspector would have not let us move in if there no insulation. The man called us back that had itchy hand from the addict and told us his pictures showed our insulation was bad and his person need to come out and correct the problem mean while when the unit starts up it causes the light blink several times like it can't start. I spent 12 K for a unit that has been repaired two previous times for bad parts. i leave it up to you if you should trust a company that finds excuses and does not correct the problem

My A/C unit went out on Wed 9.12.18. I called Morris Jenkins to set an appt. They came out the next day. My tech was very nice & well knowledgeable. She told me what was wrong and stated I needed another unit. She found a block of frozen liquid on my unit in the attic. The problem I have is just to defrost the little amount I had took about 20-30 minutes cost $294.00! She came down from the attic with her little water vac. I was already charged the standard $89 cost for evaluation of the system but to charge someone $294 just for defrost was a sign for anyone to say this company is costly. She turned my unit off and told me not to turn it back on until they install a new one. Here it is in the 90's and I have to wait to get air! Once she left I sat and thought about this entire situation. I cancelled my consultation with their salesman who was coming to my house at 4:30. I would like to have some of my money back because that's too much just to defrost. Everyone, I advise you to check around for the same great service because once I called other A/C businesses with great credit, they do not charge this ridiculous amount to defrost!

Tech was on time and did a great job. I knew what had to be repaired but I didn't say anything because I was waiting on the typical oh you need this and this and this from him but he didn't do that. He pointed out what needed to be replaced which is what I already knew. It was very nice to know that he didn't try to scam me. A little pricy but it was worth it because he got the job finished with no attempt to upsell me on unnecessary parts.

During the coldest weekend of the year, our heat wouldn't come on. They had a tech here in 90 min of my call and we had heat again in another 30 min. They then checked the system and showed us how to save on annual service. I had called 3 other companies including the one who installed the unit and had been doing our annual services who didn't even offer to call us if an opening came up. Everyone else was booked too though one at least offered to call us if a job finished early and they could squeeze us in. Technician David D was courteous and thorough. Thanks

The Morris Jenkins representative was nice and friendly.  They charged $89 just to come out and look at my hot water heater and tell me I needed a new one.  It took less than 3 minutes.  They quoted me over $1500 for a new one.  I contacted three other companies for estimates and they all gave me ones that were considerably less.  All were under $1000.  This seems like they overcharge by more than just a small margin.  That will be my last call to Morris Jenkins.

I called Morris Jenkins to get someone out to replace the whole HVAC system in my home. The 28 year old system we had died while it was 95 degrees last week. I was told that someone would call me back that afternoon to schedule someone to come out and give me an estimate. I'm still waiting 4 days later for someone to call me.  After I told the person I spoke with that I know I needed a furnace and air conditioner as well as duct work - I would have thought that I would at least get a call back. Apparently,  they have way too much work and $$$ and didn't need another customer. Too bad - I called Brothers Heating and Air and they came out the same day and within 2 days I have a complete new system. I wouldn't recommend Morris Jenkins to anyone that wants customer service - these guys are HORRIBLE.

We had morris Jenkins come out for routine check on our air conditioning unit before the hot months of summer hit. The gentleman said our a.c. unit only had about 2 years left on it. We said fine we will look at replacing it next spring. Twelve hours after he left our AC quit working. And it had been working fine up until the day he came. Coincidence, I think not!  The next day morris Jenkins sent out a different gentlemen he put in a pound of Freon gas and said we were fine. A week later another gentleman showed up with a new air conditioning unit when we explained to him we didn't order one he acted totally mad and in a nasty tone said well didn't you get a phone call that I was coming . We told him no we never got any such phone call. He then proceeded to screech out of our neighborhood with his vehicle, shooting up dust and stones. We will never deal with them again. There motto is we treat you like family! What a joke!!

We signed up for a year service contract.  When it came time to check out our furnace for the winter, the first tech was polite and very efficient he noted our furnace was very old and needed to be replaced at some point (no surprise to us).  The first tech checked the furnace before leaving and it ran just fine.  The next day we tried to fire it back up, and it wouldn't turn back on.  We called them back out, and another tech showed up, he was up in the attic for awhile.  Per the tech the door wasn't shut completed, which prevented it from firing up (odd).  He said we have very big problems and excused himself to go to his truck, again this took awhile.  He comes back with an Ipad that has a bunch of pictures on it.  He claimed it was our furnace not so sure it was.  He said its not safe to fire back up (firmly) and wanted to give us a quote on a new unit.  There is no doubt he was trying to pressure us in buying a new unit urgently.  He was so pushy and when looking at him it clearly led us to believe this is a pressure to buy tactic.  We canceled our annual check up and made note (verbally) to the company as to why.  We haven't heard back on our complaint which is why I am taking the time to write this review.  Oddly enough a few months later the same guy in on the new commercial!!!!!

The two stars given are for good advertising jingles and general availability when Morris Jenkins has the opportunity to sell you something that you can guarantee will be overpriced product, parts, and service.

I purchased a new furnace from Morris Jenkins only because I did not have the luxury of shopping for the best product and service.  The furnace I purchased is less than two years old and has repeated problems.  I had a technician attempt to diagnose why my furnace was operating inconsistently.  After initially inspecting the filter and determining it was not too dirty to be the cause and running other non conclusive test he reported on his service ticket that it was a dirty filter.  Three days later with a clean filter I am having the same issue with the furnace.

Called at 8 AM this morning with my downstairs at 50 degrees,  The customer service rep said he could have someone there between 9 and 12:30.  At 1:30 I call and they inform me they had me down for 12-3.  If the scheduled changes let me know, do not leave me waiting.

Do your homework and shop around.

Morris Jenkins' service is horrible.  wish could give them lower than 1 star. Extremely expensive yet still very unprofessional. They say one thing and do another. I had their representative come out fix my ac, a month later I had the same issue. I had to call them and was still under 2 yrs warranty. Also, I verified before having them come over the second time if there was additional cost,  I was told on the phone I wouldnt have to pay again. The guy comes in, goes up my attic, takes a few mins and it started running and asked me to pay which I was under the impression I didn't have to pay. Called customer service, person the phone said it's up to this moran in my house to determine. This guy in my house kept arguing and raising his voice at me because I didn't want to pay especially because I had warranty and I was told it wouldnt be an additional cost.

Called customer service next morning, spoke to supervisor who claimed I was never told on the phone it was no charge and claimed she had recorded conversation for evidence, so I asked to send me a copy through email. I still don't have any email from them and it's been more than 3 months. They are rip offs, cheaters, and liars in the business to rip people off. Had to pay again to get him out the house, he had made himself very comfortable on my dinning chair which was creepy at the moment. Would never call them again.

Don't recommend them, and again very expensive and unprofessional.

Buyer Beware!  I live in Gastonia, North Carolina just outside Charlotte.   My wife called this company and requested they install a simple one hole faucet in our kitchen sink.   It is obvious I am disabled and I explained this to the serviceman.  He explained they didn't have a white faucet as we requested and it would be $856. to replace the one we had with a silver one, it was leaking.  I could not believe what I just heard, $856.00 for a simple one hole faucet in a kitchen sink with very easy access.  I told him I would just go buy one at Home Depot and put it in myself.  He smiled and said Home Depot's faucets were very inferior to theirs and I shouldn't', that would be a mistake.  Needless to say I escorted him out, went to Home Depot, paid $114.00 for a simple one hole faucet with a hose and sprayer and installed it myself in about one hour.  So I ask you, if me, a 60% disabled veteran installed it in about an hour with my own tools, how long would it have taken a professional with all the best tools? We called to complain and reached a manager and he said that they charged way more than a small company because they are a BIG company.  What?  In other words, you, the customer, must pay for their huge overhead.  Not for exemplary work but for overhead.  Unbelievable.  I can not remember when I was so incensed and offended.  In my opinion this is what I would call price gouging how about you?

Morris Jenkins recently sold my mom a two-ton heat pump for a total of $9,200. My mom, who is 71, lives alone in an 892-square-foot condo. If you're familiar with heat pumps, then you know a two-ton unit is way too big for such a space. Moreover, they convinced her to purchase an extended warranty, which also increased the price. After talking with other dealers, I learned the total price should have been between $4,000 and $5,000. Once we found out mom had been ripped off, we contacted Morris Jenkins multiple times to try to negotiate a more reasonable price. They wouldn't budge, saying my mom had agreed to everything. This is true, but, big surprise, she's not an expert on heat pumps and didn't know what type of unit she really needed. This is unethical. I believe Morris Jenkins took advantage of an elderly woman who lives alone. I strong advise anyone who reads this not to do business with Morris Jenkins.

David Hickey came to my home yesterday to do the Spring service for the 2 AC units I have and he was so thorough and explained everything to me.  This is the 2nd regular maintenance visit that I have had from Morris Jenkins and it has been great every time.  The visits take about 1.5 hours to 2 hours.  Prior to MJ, companies would be at my house for 20 minutes and it makes you wonder what they really did... they didn't really explain it to me - Anyway, I think Morris Jenkins does a great job!

On 6/7/2015 my AC stopped working. Since I'm one who likes to fix things myself I determined the contactor would not stay engaged, but could not track down the source. Since I had a spare contactor I put it in but this did not fix the problem. It was a Sunday and already 92 degrees inside the home. So I call Morris Jenkins and to be honest it was all because of the commercials and no extra charge for Sunday service.
Service tech arrived and I explained what the unit was doing and what I had done, he walked up to the unit which I already had the cover off of and said the contactor is bad that right there is $359 do you want to start there, I said no I knew for a fact that a contactor cost less than $50 and it only takes 10 minutes to install it plus how could he tell he had never even tested the contactor. He proceeded to do a thorough diagnostic on the outside and inside unit. Came back and said are ready for this and rattled off all the things that needed to be done to get my AC working today at a total of $2243. He did on quit a number of times tell me that I needed a new system to the point of I felt that was all he was trying to accomplish. So I paid my $89 service fee and sent him on the way because I knew there was no way all the services he wanted to provide were needed on my system and the cost on some of the items were outrageous.
Next day called another company out that does no fancy commercials and within 10 minutes they determined that my Transformer on the inside motor was bad. The total cost to fix and have AC that same day $470 dollars only because I opted to have a new blower, control board and transformer assembly installed. Based on this experience I cannot honestly recommend calling Morris Jenkins out to perform any type of service on your AC or heating unit.
In a nut shell if Morris Jenkins would have just replaced what was actually bad and not thrown in all the extra unneeded items and got my AC going that day I would have been extremely appreciative as their cost to replace the items actually needed were quoted at a total of $500. I'd would have been happy to have paid that.

Terrible experience.  My old furnace died in Feb.  They were able to come out that evening and check it.  Need a new one.  The man that came out the first day gave me an estimate and said that it would be 2 or 3 days before they could install it.  When he found out I was going to pay for it instead of finance it said they could do it they next day.  Money rules I guess.  But another man came out the next day and said it would be $2000 more than the original estimate given to me and that they couldn't put it in that day.  Finally got it in and they didn't put a unit in big enough for my home so it was still cold in my house and my electric bill was huge cause it ran 24/7 trying to warm the house.  When I called them about this they said the estimator should have looked at my square footage and insulation to determine the unit I needed - and he had done none of this.  So they had to put a new unit in.  It stopped working completely less than 2 months later and they had to come back out and fix it and told me it was a problem that was going to keep happening every so often and it would be an $89 charge each time they had to come out and fix it.  Rip Off!!!!  Now 4 months later after instillation it's not working right again and the service guy who came out fixed it, but he said it was a temporary fix and gave me a list of $700.00 worth of things that needed to be fixed.  Why was I not told about these problems when they did the initial instillation?  Why didn't they fix them at that time?  Why didn't they tell me about these problems when they fixed it in April? Cause they want me to keep having problems so I have to call them and give them more and more money.

I will say that each service person I have dealt with have been very nice, very profession and helpful.  But it seems like they do the minimun required so they know that you'll need them to keep coming back.

I want to give Bobby a little something. So here you go Mista Jankuns. About 2 months ago I called Morris Jenkins out because one of the condenser fans wasn't working on my homes ac unit. Granted it was at night so I assumed I would pay a little more even though they say they don't charge any more than they do during the day. Well the tech came out and was a nice guy. He checked the system and determined it was a fan run capacitor and that I was 2lbs short of freon. I had determined the run capacitor was blown by myself before he came out, but couldn't find one locally that was sold to the public. However I did find one out of California (The exact part I needed) for $20.00. So I figured even if they charged 200% of what I would pay (that would make the part $60), it would be worth it, because I would have cool air in my home tonight. Long story short... The tech rigged a couple aftermarket pieces together that didn't even fit my system (but it worked, just not pretty), added a the freon, then almost threw his back out stretching into the coil box to try and sell me a $2700 cooling coil job on a 3 year old system. But couldn't find a leak so there was no up-sale made. However the techs attitude did change a little after not finding the leak he was sure I had. In the end, Bobby's company charged me $300 for my $20 part, $75 per lb of freon, and then$150 for 2 hours of labor. Bada Bing Bada Boom they walked away with a check for $600
Don't get screwed by these folks, and take your hard earned money somewhere else.

Yes, their customer service is good and they make it very easy to do business with their company, but it all comes at a VERY HIGH cost to the consumer.  I recently realized exactly how they are paying for all those TV commercials!  A tech visited my house for a nonworking A/C condenser and attempted to take me to the cleaners before the visit was over.

The diagnosis was a failed condenser fan motor and capacitor.  The quote to replace the fan motor and capacitor was $776 and included a lifetime warranty on the fan motor.  While talking things over with the tech, he commented that the failed fan motor on the unit had less horsepower than he would have anticipated, yet his quote was to replace the fan motor with an identically powered motor, which he just happened to have on his truck.

I'm not an HVAC tech, but $776 sounded like a ton of money for a small motor and a capacitor.  I sent the tech on his way and phone a friend in my hometown whose family has been in the HVAC business for 40+ years.  It took all of about 3 minutes on the phone to diagnose that the fan motor on the unit was, in fact, not the correct fan motor and that it was underpowered.  My friend provided me the appropriate fan motor part number and asked what I'd been quoted.  I told him that the tech was going to replace the fan motor like for like off the truck, which I was informed was trade code for universal motor.  When I told him the quote was $776 he nearly fell off of his stool!  He was completely flabbergasted by the price.

So long story short, I got a motor and capacitor through my friend and replaced them myself in less than 30 minutes.  Did I mention that I have no HVAC experience?  The whole process involved cutting the electricity, removing some panels, unscrewing the old motor and unplugging its connections, and installing the new motor.  The capacitor was even easier.  Total wholesale cost of the parts was $135....compared to Morris Jenkins quoted cost of $776.  Yes, you are seeing these numbers correctly...that's a savings of $641 and less than a half-hour of my time!  Just in case you're wondering, the replacement fan motor was an OEM part and not an off-brand or universal motor.

You should avoid Morris-Jenkins.  I was until today, an Advantage member.  Getting my HVAC systems inspected twice a year.  Until recently I've not needed any repairs. But I've had them service my HVAC twice in the last 8 months.

The last time was to add Freon to my AC.  It appears that my system has a leak and it required 4lbs of R22 Freon.  As I was an advantage member they responded the same day and recharged my system.  Total cost $463 which included a $49 service charge and a 10% discount for being an advantage member.  Basically they charged $400 for 4lbs of Freon!  $263 for the first pound and $63 for the other 3!  This seemed like a lot, and when I told others of the cost they agreed.  I went on line and found that a licensed contractor can buy a 30 lb canister of Freon - just like the one they used, for $263 or about $8.75/lb.  Really, you're going to charge $100 a lb??  Yes they do, which basically means that the first pound pays for the entire cylinder of Freon.

Given that I clearly have a leak, the system needs to be either repaired or replaced.  The tech said its not worth it to fix and that I should get it replaced.  The sales guy came the next day to survey my system and give me a quote.  He did a great job of examining everything, taking photos, and putting them on his i-pad to make a very nice presentation.  During the presentation he showed me issues with the installation, duct work, etc.  (Why was none of this ever brought to my attention during the biannual inspections??)  When it came time to provide a price he opened his 3 ring binder (odd after the high tech photo review) to show me they offer 3 different systems, Good Better, Best (or more aptly expensive, very expensive, and outrageous)  After explaining they were the sole distributor of Carrier systems and that it was the best unit on the market he showed me the pricing - Good $8600, Better $9600, Best $11,200.  I might be a little off on the Best price because I was in shock after I saw the Good price,

I've since gotten other quotes from independent contractors referred by friends and have found that I can get a whole system for under $4,000 and that after a leak test that my coil is leaking and I can have that replaced for only $1700.  Also found I could have had the Freon done for under $200 which includes the service call.

In summary Morris Jenkins is a high touch, service oriented firm. I don't fault them for what they do and provide, but consumers ought to be aware that you can get good service and quality without the high price.  I would not recommend Morris Jenkins unless it was an emergency.

Price was reasonable for maintenance. I have been having regular maintenance done on this home for 2 years. I am thinking about upgrading to a new more efficient system and will check a few competitors.

They responded quickly to my call and the repair guy was right on time on a Sunday (Father's Day). So it started out nicely. I told him that I thought it was the capacitor that was out. He checked and confirmed that indeed it WAS the capacitor and that the part (only the part) cost $331. So in total it would cost $420 to repair! Luckily, I am not stupid enough to believe that a capacitor cost $331 and paid the $89 diagnostic fee and sent him on his way. My husband bought the capacitor for $7.00 (Yes, SEVEN DOLLARS) the next morning and replaced the part in 15 minutes (including the time to remove the cover and put it back on)! I understand that they have to mark up the price of the parts to make money but give me a break...$331 versus $7?? I feel bad for people who don't know better and would actually pay this price! Please people, ALWAYS know the average cost of parts in anything you plan to have repaired.

My Central AC wasn't working properly so I called Morris Jenkins and the guy they sent out was nice enough. He said I needed a new motor that controlled the air flow to each zone.... I said okay. After he was done I noticed the AC in my TV room never went off..... then I got a little suspicious that he asked me several times if the air flow was okay. I called Morris Jenkins back and had them send out a different tech. Not only had they guy NOT replaced the motor but he moved one motor over and lock the other zone so that it was always open. Obviously I was upset. The manager of the company... after some hand wringing... agreed to replace both of the motors but assured me this was somehow it was either a honest mistake or that I had tinkered with it somehow. Now I paid for a motor that wasn't there and I don't know the least bit about fixing an AC... I can't even hang a picture frame. I was informed that him and the first tech were friends and that he would never do that. The motor was never found and I could never get confirmation that he actually obtained a motor from his warehouse. So I would not recommend them or their associates under any circumstances. To be fair the second tech that came out was excellent but he did toe the company line. He was very resistant about giving me any information. He would basically answer yes, no or I don't know to any questions I had but he would not elaborate or point out any of the issues unless I asked. I was not refunded any part of bill and I didn't asked for one. I just wanted the job done right and not to be accused of fraud.

I had them come out because my System was frozen and not working. They sent a tech out and by the time he got there my system was already thawed. He checked out the system for leaks and made sure it was fully charged. I told him something is wrong and that the system was not blowing very much air. He said that is how a split system works and it was good to go. Well one week later the system froze again, I let it thaw and let it go. it froze once again, I called them and asked why would it be freezing. I told the to send a tech out and check it out. Well the system just stopped blowing all together. I had another guy come check it out. It turned out that the split zone actuators were not working in fact one of them was not even wired and he showed me the wire hanging down from the actuator. In further inspection he found that one of the actuators was wired closed which ran the upstairs, hmm I told the guy from Morris Jenkins it was not blowing hard at all. Well this guy adjusted both actuators and wired up the one that was not wired up and it works great NOW. I think the Techs at Morris Jenkins need to do a little more due diligence when diagnosing a problem. He wasted my time and caused two additional miserable nights of sleep. Lesson Learned...

CROOKS.  Deceitful and Untrustworthy.   Our 6 year old HVAC system stopped blowing cold air 2 weeks ago and we, based on all the commercials, gave Morris Jenkins a try.  They came out to assess the system and told us promptly is was a total loss.  They gave us an estimate of $6,500 for a full system replacement.  Our home is 900 square feet!!   When we replaced our system in 2009 it was with a Trane unit and was less than $2500.   They even sent one of the commercial guys out to the house to try and record a commercial segment with him!   We then contacted MTB mechanical and they came out promptly, tuned up our unit and added Freon for less than $200!!  They said the unit was in good condition and would last many more years with proper maintenance.  We HIGHLY recommend MTB Mechanical.  STAY AWAY FROM MORRIS JENKINS!!  Unbelievable scammers - we really wonder how many systems they replace around Charlotte that don't need replacement, offering piece of mind and financing to unsuspecting people.   Someone should investigate these guys for dishonest practices.

bad company.. purchased a home that Morris jenkins has been servicing the AC for over two years.. Morris Jenkins serviced the AC 3 weeks before we  purchased the home did a full inspection said it was in perfect working order, we turned on the AC for the first time 1 week ago - nothing No air no fan nothing - we called out Brothers heat and air to look it over. spent 225 to replace some electrical part to the fans - then found out the AC had a leaking coil and had a rust train down the unit about 3 foot long. brothers said noone could have inspected this unit and gave it a clean bill of health. we also called out temperature pros they looked over the unit said the something - later we found all the paper work for morris jenkins we called and asked about the inspection and all the work done. was told sorry it was done EXACTLY 30 days ago.. NO WARRANTY. then they charged me 89, to come out and see if MAYBE it would be under warranty - then of course no it isnt under warranty and quoted me 7900 for a new low end unit and 12500 for the top of the line - of course i told them if the company wasn't smart enough to see a 3 foot long rust stain down the side of the unit and couldn't figure out the unit was low on Freon because it had a leak in the coil why would i do business with you... the tech said because we are the best... I laughed.. same unit at brothers is 3500 less - when i also asked Morris Jenkins about just purchasing a coil - was told they no longer make that coil - brother heating and air and Temperature pro said the part is common and they could pick it up same day.

Comfortmakers are horrible units, have problems every year since we let Morris Jenkins talk us into letting them replace our old units couple years after we bought our house.  We spent approx $18,000 and have regretted it ever since.  Morris Jenkins pulled a great con by convincing us how much money we would save in our electric bill month after month and that the units would eventually pay for themselves in the savings.....NOT!!  Buyer beware!  Our electric bill is so high ever since we got these new units that Duke Energy sends us flyers every month telling us how much more we spend on electric than every other home like ours.  Plus the dumb things keep breaking down.  As I write this, it is 94 degrees in my house upstairs as the stupid upstairs unit isn't working again!  Morris Jenkins then charges me enormous service fees to come out and fix their lousy units.  Right after I got them, both units froze over and they tried to tell me this was normal.  I should have insisted back then that they replace them as obviously we have been had with lemon units...uggggghhhh.  Do NOT trust Morris Jenkins salesmen as they will con you into believing they are honest and you will have big regrets like I do.  We are looking at buying new units again just to get rid of the high electric bill and service fees for the lemon Comfortmakers units.

So here it is the middle of April and As a Priority Advantage customer I can't get a service repair technician out here for over 24 hour. So much for cool air in your house tonight. Not sure why we are pay a monthly fee for this kind of service. Maybe they should stop having so many silly ads on tv and hire a few more technicians. We are canceling our contract and are going to use a local person that some of our neighbors have used for years. They are even coming out hours before our so called Priority Advantage time. Don't call Morris Jenkins if you want fast service. It's not even summertime yet. Unbelievable!!!

Gosh, I find it AMAZING that none of the 1-2 star reviews are the currently recommended ones.
PLEASE PLEASE look at ALL the negative reviews. they outweigh the positive!!!!!
The review I just wrote on 1/16/14 is not currently recommended. you have to click around to view ALL the reviews.

TOTAL RIP OFF. They were prompt, yes. And I knew we'd pay a little more in an emergency situation.. but $1600 for a 40 Gallon gas hot water heater is just WRONG when Lowes/Sears, etc. have them for about $400-$600. Oh but there is a  6 year warranty! BIG DEAL. Again, Lowes/Sears have ones with 9 year warranties that still don't come close in price to Morris Jenkins. (And I'm sure to have them install still wouldn't bring it near the $1600) Also, they didn't install it that night. We still had to wait until the next day. I also still can't trust that the tank had ruptured and wasn't more than a loose hose. The times we've had them out for HVAC maintenance, they ALWAYS try to sell new units This one won't last much longer. Its sad when you feel they're trying to take advantage every single time they talk to you. I hope my $1600 water heater pumps gold water. But my husband is a sucker and was the one dealing with all this. Well played Morris Jenkins. You're lucky I wasn't the one home when this happened.

Morris Jenkins is the best! Mike was gracious and efficient.  The service we received was incomparable.  Despite the enormous volume of calls due to the heat, Mike arrived way ahead of schedule and identified the problem immediately!

These guys are unethical from the get-go.  Called them when my AC stopped working, but only because it was a Sunday.  The tech came out, sat at my dining room table, looked me straight in the eyes and in his very best aw-shucks persona, lied.  Told me that it would cost $1400 to do the repair, but a new unit is what I need.  Told me I would have to replace my gas furnace because the AC runs off the furnace (an iota of which I have since learned is true, but replacement NOT needed)......started dropping numbers from $9000 to $12000.  The scheduling staff was very personable, but also incompetent.  I spent a full week being miserable.  Found a local reputable professional who agreed that yes, my 17 year old unit does need replacing, and he repaired it to keep me cool in the interim.  I paid $225 for that repair and he is going to take it off the cost of the new setup.  Mr. Jenkins, THAT is customer service.   You need to start treating people with respect rather than look for a way to pay Bobby's salary.........

I used to have the membership account 2 years ago but cancelled and then I had a coil replaced last year for one unit at about 3600.00. Well I needed an A/C spring tune up for a 10 year unit and one of the overflow pans were dripping. So I called Morris Jenkins and the CSR told me about the 2 month deferred payment and also the 2 lbs of Freon up to 500 dollars. Well I signed up because the membership was the cheapest, but you pay a lot out of pocket. I called for a maintenance tune up and ended up paying $367.00 for a new dual capacitor and $67 for the Freon. I told him that I thought I get up to 2 lbs for free. He said we have not done that for 4 years. Well why the CSR told me that. On top of that he was not personable as the other maintenance guys I had experience with in the pass and he did not fix my leak. I paid a total of $434.00 from a routine tune up. The pan is still leaking even after I told him that the other maintenance guys would pump the water out. All he said is Oh, I can do it in 30 minutes. I told him never mind just leave. Once my two months is out I am done with them. Oh by the way, why the 2 months? Because they were going to charge me the two months deferred which was $36.00 X 2 plus the balance of the service fee before the 20% discount = $129.00. Total to cancel the contract $185.00. They are a Rip off, their services are too high to pay for those stupid commercials and overhead and the personal touch that I had in the pass is no longer evitable. The service guy I had seemed to want to cram stuff that needs to be done to get a sale on extra stuff.

This business is such a rip off.  They came out and identified that my air handler was sitting in water and correctly diagnosed that my clogged drain pipe was underground, but they failed to find the drain and dig it out.  They just left me that way, after charging nearly $600 to replace a small part and adding 2 lbs of freon.  I had to have someone else come out yesterday and correct the problem, and it was only one third of the price.  Don't use this company.  SHAME ON THEM FOR RIPPING PEOPLE OFF WHO ARE IN A BIND!

My name is Brian Clark, Just under 2yrs ago my mother-in-law bought a new HVAC unit from Morris Jenkins, it was about $6500 for the most inexpensive unit they had, that was all she could afford. This past week her air went out(mid 90's). She called Morris Jenkins and they sent a Tech out. He discovered that the blower motor was bad, he said that they have had a problem with these Gentec X13 motors. He said it's an $1100.00 motor but it is still under warranty it will be $495.00 to install it. But they don't have one, they will have to order it. So she is stuck without air until it comes in, then it will be another $89.00 service call fee and the $495.00 install fee. I know that you have to be a contractor to buy these parts, I just want people to know how much they mark this stuff up and not take care of there customers. We'll I bought one of these motors because of the job that I do, It cost $310.00 for the motor not $1100.00. I installed it myself. It took me 20min to take the old one out and another 30min to install the new one. So in less than 1hr the job was done. How do they justify these type of markups especially to replace a motor that they have had problems with. That's not taking care of your customer, it's all about the money with this company. Stay away from them take the time to find a fair and honest company.

When I called to make an appointment, I was told they were unable to come out that day because they were too busy, so I scheduled an appointment for the next evening.  I asked how much it would cost me to replace a capacitor and they were unable to give me any kind of an idea over the phone, which raised the first red flag.  Then, after having a 3 hour window of appointment time, they were still 30 minutes late.  I had researched the price of capacitors already at this point and found them to be roughly $20.  I know you have to pay for someone's knowledge, expertise, and licensure, but I was floored when Barry told me the repair would be $388 in addition to the $49 service fee (down from $89 because they were doing the repair).  It wasn't even close to an hour of labor!  So $437 later, the a/c is fixed but I still feel gouged.  The very next day I received two quotes from different companies, one was $259 and one was almost $300, and those were after hours charges.  Morris-Jenkins doesn't even charge after hours fees and their prices are still that much higher.  Now I know who pays for the annoying jingles and commercials...the customers!!  Shop around and check the reviews first people!
