6 days without hot water while i sit on the part they say needed that was sent directly to me but now they cant come back until next week to install
Called to replace a leaking toilet, and while here they said my water pressure was too high and a pressure regulator needed to be installed. They insisted this needed to be installed by my water meter at the street, which would involve ripping up part of the sidewalk and cost over $700.
I got a second opinion and was told that the part could easily be installed in my basement for a third of the cost, and that cutting into the sidewalk was totally unnecessary. When I explained to them that I wanted to cancel my appointment based on this second opinion they were snippy and rude.
Very surprised that they chose what appears to be the most difficult and expensive method to fix a simple water pressure problem.
To say I felt cheated by this company was an understatement...
I scheduled a service call to fix my tankless water heater that was no longer providing hot water consistently. They scheduled a technician who specialized in tankless water heaters to arrive to my home on Thursday the 10th with a two hour window. I scheduled a vacation day away from work to get hot water restored to our home. Unfortunately, the technician never showed up and I didn't even receive a courtesy phone call from IRV to let me know that the tech would not be coming. I called several hours past the missed appointment window and they dispatched another tech however he wouldn't arrive until after 5pm. The technician that arrived did not know much about tankless water heaters and was not prepared to work in it. It was as if they just sent someone to show face as they missed the appointment already. He simply asked me if I had cleaned it since it was installed which I answered no. His diagnosis was that the unit needed to be cleaned first before doing any further work and he proceeded to charge me $157 for the diagnosis and said that I would have to schedule another day to get the unit cleaned. This one question could have been asked when I called in for the appointment. This is also a simple 45 minute fix which I would have expected to be preformed while he was here at my property.
Two days following I finally received the quote for the cleaning which was $530. This put the total cost of the cleaning at $692!!! The cleaning only requires a $15 descaler solution that is pumped through the flush valves of the unit for half hour. In addition, two small filters are cleaned (air and water) which take two minutes each. From start to finish this repair only took me 45 minutes to do myself. With a fully burdened labor cost of roughly $60-75 an hour and $15 of material cost (descaler solution) I felt like this company was taking advantage of the home owner. I am in the construction business and am fully aware on the total burdened cost for an employee in the service arena. This was essentially a 700% markup over the companies cost. I understand companies have markups and need to make profit however this was beyond excessive. Buyer beware, avoid this company at all cost as they will try to rip you off for such an easy fix!
IRV scheduled with us three times canceled each time and tried to schedule for a 4th date.
These were all times and dates of THEIR choosing.
I chose not to be a fool and did not attempt to reschedule.
They seem to be extremely unreliable in understanding their own schedules and unable to responsibly keep appointments they have made.
So I had a leak from upstairs and called HomeServe to report it. They sent out IRV Plumbing. The tech showed up and stated that they were not allowed to cut into the drywall where the leak was. IRV then sent out a company called Restopros. Their job was to prep my home for the HVAC guys. They came into my home during a rain storm and tracked in dirt, mud and dry-vac machines. They cut a hole in the drywall, ripped up carpet and remove the flooring in both bathrooms. I never heard from Restopro again. I home was left in shambles and no one returned my calls. My insurance agent even called to get an estimate and....nothing! I finally had to call IRV and ask what the hell was going on. IRV sent the same tech back only for him to say that my condensate line was running into the home instead of outside and the cost to re-route would be over $3000. I never agreed or disagreed with the amount but to this day never heard from either company again. I later found out that the line was clogged and happily paid someone to unclog the line. What's with all the runaround!!! Be open and honest with your customers. I wish I could convince HomeServe to remove you and Restopros as service providers.
Your customer service really SUCKS!!! I will never use either company again!!!!!!!!!!

Companies like this are why I DIY as much as possible. I should have paid more attention to other Yelp reviews. I can't stand dishonest people or companies. But not confident in my own electrical abilities.
First, this was for electric services. I had two exterior outlets which were not working. Lady on the phone told me there was a small $49 service fee which can be credited to work completed. OK. Shane comes out, spends an hour trying to determine the issue, doesn't know for sure but believes a connection was never made to service the front two outlets when the home was originally built in 2015 (I'm the second owner). Then asks for $215 for the diagnostic. What happened to the $49? Oh, there's another $166 for a troubleshoot fee. Wasn't disclosed. So $49 gets you to my house and then if I want to know what's wrong, I have to pay more? Shady tactic.
Then Shane tells me it'll be $350 for the repair which will require 12 holes in my wall to run a new line from the circuit breaker through my garage. Can't do it same day because he doesn't have spackle to close up the holes.
Next day comes back and had an epiphany overnight that he wouldn't need to run a new line, he could connect through another room. Job which would have taken considerable amount of time now suddenly takes about an hour.
Shady upfront pricing comments, shady repair tactics, shady company. Do yourself a favor and try to find an honest company as IRV is anything but.

IVR recently installed a complete A/C and furnace system in a rental property I own with my wife. Although I hated to spend the $ I was happy with the service and work they provided.
That all changed when I called them 2 weeks later after our tenant complained of a lack of hot water, I called IRV to investigate. Later that night they called back with their diagnosis. I was told that the unit (2 years old) needed a new gas control valve AND that they also were required to get the unit up to code by installing an expansion tank, sediment trap and additional pipe insulation.
I was surprised by the code requirements being that the unit is fairly new and questioned the tech. He 1st assured me that NC absolutely requires the additional work. I reminded him that the property was in SC and he then was sure that it was also required in SC too, even offering to send me the specific code language.
The next morning when the code didn't arrive I grew more specious and called code in enforcement in SC & NC in an attempt to verify, they both confirmed that there is NO code requirement for IVR's repairs.
Next I told IRV that I had lost trust in them and ask them to meet me at the property, thats when we able to confirm that in fact NO repair was needed after all.
To summarize IRV failed to test the issue, then LIED about code requirements claiming that $721 in repairs were need when in fact the unit is in working order and with in all code requirements.
Do not trust them and if you do decide to call the absolutely get a 2nd opinion.
I called because an electric switch in my basement wasn't functioning, no lights. Also, my AC started blowing hot air. I thought both problems might be related. Shane came out to my house and checked on a few things and told me that it has to be a GFCI switch somewhere downstairs. I told him that I checked all of the GFCI switches and they were all good. He insisted that there was one hiding somewhere. Lo and behold, he found it hiding behind one of the plants in my basement!
Shane was very pleasant to deal with and IRV even called to tell me that he was running around 20 minutes behind our scheduled appointment time. Great service! I will definitely use them again for my electrical needs.
In February IRV ran a gas line to our gas range. The first time it failed county inspection. Now, in September,we had a gas leak. In February and again today IRV is very difficult to speak with. When I finally got through to someone she was insolent as if I was bothering her with a gas leak. She chastised me for having attitude. Their shoddy work could have been dangerous, even catastrophic. She told me, on hold again, that they could send someone tomorrow...for a gas leak! These people are expensive, untrustworthy, unresponsive. Morris-Jenkins sent someone right out. They discovered that IRV connected the gas line wrong! I'm out 500 bucks but I trust Morris-Jenkins to stand by their work. Never trust IRV with your home or your life!
Really a mixed experience. My 20 year old water heater started to leak so after a quick trip to Lowe's, I contacted IRV. Robert came out and performed a very thorough and comprehensive review of the situation and provided me 3 options (2 tankless, 1 direct replacement). I went ahead and went for the high eff tankless Rinnai system.
The office was very punctual, giving me appointment updates and the technicians were right on time.
That's when the issues started. The quality of the initial installation was HORRIBLE. I wish I could post pictures.
The plumber attempted to use the existing wall penetration for the exhaust, but somehow convinced himself that the supply also needed to be vented, and went on to create using aluminum flashing and LOTS of silicone and expanding foam, one of the worst wall penetrations possible. That was only outdone by the piping on the outside of the home that looked like two periscopes protruding from a 12 square of aluminum flashing on top of my vinyl siding. It was comical. It's worth noting this is directly off my deck on the rear of my house. A lesser issue was the electrical, in which a new outlet was installed, but instead of running the wire inside the sheetrock to the breaker box, the electrician ran flex conduit out of the wall, along the baseboard and back inside the wall by the breaker box about 6 feet away. It really looks bad. I would later be told that meets code. Lesser issues include the PEX piping that was really just sloppy and the pressure relief valve that was plumbed strangely.
I immediately contacted Leon who while I think was at the job site, did not do the work the first time. He understood my concern, and said he would address it as soon as he was back in town (holiday weekend). Again, great attitude and very responsive.
I showed Leon what my neighbor had done (DIY job), as well as what comes with the unit. Pretty basic stuff. Pics like this all over the internet.
Leon (and his assistant) was again punctual and immediately went about fixing both of the exhaust venting issues. He ended up having to raise the water heater and using commercially available ducting designed and installed what is now a much better installation. I still have a little sheetrock inside to cleanup, but I can handle that. The outside, while better, is still an issue. Because of the initial installation, I am left with 4-6 screw holes in my siding where the flashing from the original installation was installed (along with a lot of silicone again). Short of replacing the vinyl siding, not sure I have a solution.
I will deal with the electrical/sheetrock & PEX piping issues.
I received a survey call shortly after, and I hope the company takes my feedback to heart. When you install a unit like this in someone's finished garage, you need to discuss with the homeowner the installation. What was done was some of the most shabby workmanship I have ever seen. Had I had the 2nd installation, the first time around, I probably would have given IRV 4 or 5 starts. That said,
Leon (and his helper on day 2) - 5 stars
Robert - 5 stars
The plumber that did the work on day 1 - 0 stars (should have gone negative as I also had what we think was a gas leak on the first night to which we were asked to crack the garage door).
The electrician - again, ask the homeowner. Simply stating we don't do sheetrock on a $4k+ job is not acceptable.
Sorry for the lengthy review. I really like the unit. It seems to work well. My lesson - Don't take the installation for granted!
Great experience all around. Purchased an Angie's List deal for $89 to replace 1 outdoor faucet. Emmett stopped by, on time and very professional. He mentioned he could rebuild the faucet if needed, since my crawlspace was inaccessable, but was able to manage a full replacement. Quickly repaied and works perfectly.
He also gave us a full plumbing inspection, which was really helpful Called out things that were easily fixable, some opportunities if we wanted to invest in some improvements, but absolutely no pressure.
Emmett was awesome to work with and both my wife and I were very pleased!
Run as fast and as far away from this company if you can! They installed our AC unit, which took about a month for them to do so during the hottest period of the summer! They missed multiple appointments! Were no call no shows and expected for us to just be available whenever they felt like coming out to complete the job! They had absolutely no regard for the inconvenience they put us thru..as if we could just call our place of employment and tell them hey! I will not be in tomorrow because I am having my ac unit installed!.. multiple days of work were missed due to them telling us they would be there and then at the last minute cancelling! This was the absolute worst experience I ever had with a company! Worst customer service experience! One of the reps Katie even hung up on me! Sears needs to contract out to a better company! I would NEVER recommend them!

Garry came out. The good news was he was on time. The bad news is he gave me a bogus estimate for $2365 worth of work. He showed me pictures of water on pipes. I asked him point blank if that could be condensation as we have a very deep well and very cold water and he said no. After he left, I got another certified plumber to come out. He said he'd love the business but that there are no leaks. The powder room had leaked at one time, but it is dry now. He charged me an $89 trip charge and saved me $2300. I'm not sure if Garry or IRV Plumbing is the culprit, but one or both of them are extremely dishonest.
Just to keep it short because it's too much to explain very poor unprofessional service, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone
They installed several replacement light fixtures, replaced an outlet, and added a whole house surge protector. On the plus side, the guy was polite and able to provide an estimate without delay. One the negative he (1) put in an 2-gang outlet with 1 white and 1 beige outlet; (2) did a messy job cutting the openings for the recessed lights that will require extra mudding and prep before painting; and (3) worst, he botched up the install of the surge protector by gnawing up the edge of the metal cover to the main box and overlapping the surge protector trim over the main trim at a bizarre angle. Let me add that our main is in the hallway, not hidden in a closet. I asked IRV to send someone else out to fix this mess but they insisted on sending the same guy out. I wanted a clean install of the surge protector and a new cover for the main. He leaves to get a new cover for the panel. Couldn't get a new panel cover (it is from the 1960s and its 8pm). So he has sawed off the edge of the cover. He would have installed that complete with the sharp burred edge if I had not checked and made him go grind it (sort of) smooth. Hope what I can't see (wiring in the wall/ceiling) is better than what I can see.
Jeremiah has been a saving grace to finally complete fixing fireplace going on since last November! I give him five stars but not the company!
This is the worst company I've ever had the displeasure of working with. They had to come back so many times to fix the same issues. Didn't have the parts needed for simple repairs. Cutting plastic pipes and gluing them together instead of getting the right ones, and chipping a $500 dollar vanity. They left the biggest mess I've ever seen. Id never use them again. They left me without hot water all weekend, simply because they forgot to relight my pilot light. I called on Saturday and Darrel said he'd have someone stop by but nobody ever showed up. This after I paid them for 3,000 dollars worth of work. Never ever again.

was over 2 hours late and not even a phone call to let me know after i rushed home to meet them.
Fantastic experience, dispatch was efficient and timely. Technician was super nice, respected our home and fixed the issue on the Sunday before Memorial Day. Was able to use a deal thru Yelp and apparently they have others via Angie's List. Will certainly use them for any future plumbing problems. Can't speak to the electrical division but if it's anything like the plumbing, I'm sure it'll be great.

The electric switch in my two rooms are not working. So I called today spoke with Melissa and she set up an apt for tomorrow. Melissa always does an awesome job in answering my questions and taking care of me. She makes me feel like I am a valued customer. Someone will be coming out to take a look at my breaker. I had a friend to look at the breaker and cut it on and it kept switching tripping back. So, I am getting an electrician out to my home. I was initially thinking that due to the HVAC and water heater damage that it may have damaged my electric cord or wires but I am not sure. I had extensive work done on getting a new AC and water Heater with IRV HVAC about 4 weeks ago and they did such an awesome job. I have to say that QUAID did an great job in taking care of me and the services. I even called to follow up on a question and he returned my call and made availability to answer it. Quaid even came back to my home to check my AC because of the cold/hot weather changes in NC for the months of March/April and he wanted to make sure the AC would run well. Melissa had did an awesome job communicating with me and letting me know about my appointments and when the guys had came to complete the job for the AC and putting in the Water heater. I had also got new toilets as well. This company is wonderful and I would recommend them to others.

IRV does it right the first time! Very skilled and knowledgeable plumbers and the folks in the office were great too. I've used them on multiple occasions for multiple items that they fixed right. Very affordable and reliable too. Ask for Melissa when you call, she'll help guide you through the process and make it a better experience!!
I don't even give this company 1 star. 2 years ago we had our water heater replaced by IRV. I had to pay some code upgrade charges which I found out later were bogus. Then they charged me twice. I had to FIGHT with the office clerk and the owner to get a refund of MY OWN MONEY! Then 3 months ago it went out. I called them because it was under warranty. The technician came by and said we needed to have it cleaned. $425!!! Then he said the pan underneath was too small and the pilot light couldn't breathe. So he says we need to pay to have a bigger pan replaced which THAT WAS THE PAN THEY INSTALLED. We would of course have to pay to replace the pan at $79 an hour which meant they would also have to drain and move the heater which would take 3-4 hours. When I denied the cleaning service they cut me off. They would not call me back or even fix it so the pilot light would stay on. I ended up calling the manufacturer of the heater and the sweet lady there showed me how to reset it so the pilot light would stay lit. We also found out the control panel was installed incorrectly and we were not getting proper hot water. My husband was able to replace the pan. I dare them to send me a bill. I will report all of this to the BBB as well with pictures. Stay away from IRV!

I was extremely happy with the service. Melissa was super nice and friendly on the phone with setting up an appointment and calling me to let me know when Chris was on his way. Chris helped figure out what was going on with my water heater and gave me great options on how to fix it and was able to fix it the same day. I will definitely be using IRV in the future.
Called to schedule an appointment but obviously they did not want my business. I filed an insurance claim since we have a leak and the lady just said the they don't work with insurance companies.
I had purchased an Angie's List offer for an installed outdoor electrical box back in the winter (November)... and wished to delay the installation until warmer weather. Not a problem.
IRV allowed me to delay the work until April and scheduled the work at my convenience. IRV's office called when their electrician (Mike Kirk) was on his way, and he arrived promptly within the half hour as promised. I showed him the location for the new service and the location for the existing service to tap into for the outdoor feed.
Within a short time he had determined what needed to be done to upgrade a 50-YO feed formerly connected to a well-pump into an UP-TO-CODE interior storage area dual-receptacle service... and a feed to an equally legal outdoor covered GFI-equipped dual-receptacle. He was very professional and made sure to explain to me the changes needed and how he was going to proceed. He made sure It met my expectations and proceeded to de exactly what he said he would do.
His work was well done, and he made sure that all loose debris from the job was cleaned up. I would certainly recommend IRV (and Mike), and I would call IRV (requesting Mike, if possible) for any electrical work I needed in the future.
Ok here is an update. Since I wasn't happy I called the company back. I spoke to Melissa very nice young lady. I told her that I wasn't happy and the issues I had. She listened and apologized. She said she would call me back. In 30 minutes because she had to look for my paperwork. She called me back this morning. And asked if someone would be home because technician is coming to look at problems. He did and was able to caulk the spot in my bathroom. Melissa called me to find out if it was fixed. I told her it was caulked. Technician had left. She sent him back to look at my moms bathroom. He tried to explain what I needed to order. She put someone on phone to speak with him. I will order piece I need and she said they will come to fix when it comes. This to me is good customer service. They are trying to make and unhappy customer happy. I will give an update soon when just job is finally finished.
