Walker Electric & Service is a Gaston and surrounding counties electrical services provider specializing in local residential and commercial clients. With a focus on our own immediate community, we've become not only an option for resolving difficult electrical installations and repairs but a true neighbor as well. Our long list of customers in the area know that we're not part of a national franchise - we're small, independent, and committed to only the highest level of quality.

HISTORY


Established in 2005.
I have been in the electrical trade since age 13 a my fathers apprentice and helper. My Grandfather and two Great Uncles owned Walker Electric 35 years ago. I have been surrounded by a family of Electrical Contractors my whole life.

ABOUT BUSINESS OWNER


Owner Jeff Walker revived the family business that both his Grandfather and his uncles begun in the early 40s. With a long line of Electricians behind and around him, Jeff was revive Walker Electric and Service to what it is today. Jeff is a father of four girls and has been married for 18 years to his childhood sweetheart. Jeff is a devote Christian and helps lead mission work to Africa and South America. He loves to hunt, and play sports from basketball, football to mountain biking.

Justin and Elephas (not sure of the spelling--sorry!) came out to replace my panel and meter base. I'd recently bought a home that was built in 1976, and a lot of the features are original, including, unfortunately, the panel box outside, which had literally been tied back on by the previous owner when it came loose.

Elephas did the initial estimate and was very kind and knowledgeable, showing me everything that was going on with the old panel, his recommendations for replacing the panel and breakers and the meter base together. I received a detailed estimate very quickly and when I called with questions about it, I was put in touch with Justin, their lead technician. He was knowledgeable and thorough and they got me on the schedule ASAP.

Both Justin and Elephas came out to do the work. There was a bit of a mix up with the electric company getting out here to de-energize, and they did as much as they could to prep and set up while waiting, then they were efficient and thorough while working, and took the time to walk me through everything once they were done. They stated on-site until the power company came back and restored us, so they'd be sure we were all set.

I feel very confident that the work was high quality and both men were friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and patient. Good communication throughout the process, and anytime I had to call, I usually spoke with Skylar, who was also terrific -- patient, kind, followed up when I needed it.

I would definitely recommend Walker Electric if you're needing electric work done.

Can't say enough good about these people!! Not only did they do the job timely manner, they were johnny on the spot when a issue came up.( not there fault ). Respectful, clean, knowledgeable. I'm a retired contractor, I wish ALL contractors were this good. I had never heard,or used these guy's before. But now there in my contacts. Thanks guy's

This company charged $65.00 to assess my electrical issue. Quoted me $1,350 to complete work. After they submitted a permit to the city they tried to come back and tell me it would be an additional $7,000 to $8,000.

Very unprofessional and sneaky - avoid using this company at all costs!

Darrell and Justin were great! They installed the wiring for my ceiling fans in a very reasonable amount of time and they made sure that they cleaned the area when they were finished. Will definitely work with them again!

I rarely give bad reviews but after the service I failed to ever receive I must warn others. I called Walker Electric Services Monday to have a fried wire replaced on my water heater that was now no longer heating the water at my rental property. I spoke with a lady who gave me a flat rate and informed me that she could have someone out same day after 4pm. She took down my information (allegedly) and told me she would email me and have the technician call me when they were on their way. I informed my tenant to be home around that time. 6pm rolls around and I haven't received a call so I call again and ask if anyone is still coming since I had not received any form of communication as to whether someone is on their way or not. She apologized and said that the techs were tied up on a 7am job and that they wouldn't be able to make it out at all. I mentioned how the matter is urgent and I'd still like it if someone could come out that night after they finished since my tenant was urgently in need of hot water. She then said they could if I paid an extra $150.... after being promised someone would be able to come out that day and failing to keep me updated that their technicians were running behind. If I had known I could have called elsewhere. I told her I wasn't interested in paying an extra $150 and asked if they could at least make it there the next morning and she responded Yes, we can definitely do that. We can have them out there around 9:30am. I say perfect, thank you. The next morning (Tuesday) I call around 9am to be sure someone is for sure coming out today since my tenant now has been without hot water for 2 days, no one answers. After calling several times around 9:45 the same lady I spoke with picks up. This time she claims that some of their techs went on vacation and they aren't going to be able to make it out AT ALL... remember the by this time it is almost 10am and she failed to call me, email, or text to give me this update... again had I known I could've been calling other electricians. This is the most unprofessional experience I've ever had. A phone call, text or email updating a customer is SIMPLE... I understand being behind or tied up or understaffed but what's not fair is being constantly told that someone is going to show up, they don't show and the business fails to inform the customer. It's just bad business.

Buyer Beware - This is the most unprofessional electrical providers period.  Josh installed two Ethernet lines at my property along with multiple other electrical services. One of my Ethernet lines are no longer working after about a month. I contacted them to repair the lines. Josh stated he would come on two different occasions.  He failed to show up both times without calling. I then talked to Jeff, I believe the Owner of the Company, he apologized for Josh and stated he would come out the next day himself to fix the issue. Guess what he doesn't show up or call either! I called back yesterday and spoke to Josh and he stated he would call me back but as you guessed failed to call back again.  Now they won't answer the phone. I felt compelled to leave this review because I only contacted this Company after reading the reviews on here. Buyer Beware they do not stand by the work.

Updated my original 1 Star review. Owner sent over a low voltage electrician to fix the issues. It has now been resolved. Thank you.

I can't praise Walker Electric & Services enough.

I have had a persistent lighting issue in my home that I couldn't seem to resolve on my own. I was a bit hesitant to ask for any assistance due to the fact I've heard from neighbors about overpriced electricians that they've had in the past. A quick Google search of local electricians revealed WES to be the ONLY 5/5 star electrical service in the area with multiple reviews. I quickly gave them a call and spoke with Jeff.

Jeff was kind, knowledgeable, and extremely polite. After scheduling an initial inspection I unfortunately had to reschedule. Not a problem. Again, Jeff was kind, knowledgeable, extremely polite, and flexible.

During the follow up Jamie and Brandon were sent out to help figure out what the issue was. These guys are the A TEAM for sure. They knocked out the many issues that I had in a little over 4 hours. They were friendly, we joked a bit as they were getting their work done, and they maneuvered through the mess that I had on the floor (as I had just moved).

I WILL be using their services again. If you're looking for a friendly, fast, knowledgeable, and fairly priced electrical service, this is the company.
