Is it possible to have a positive experience when you need a new furnace?
Yes you actually can.

PART ONE:
I was looking for the reason my electric bill skyrocketed.
Brian David was the perfect service representative.
He went through all equipment he saw while in the basement, that could cause issues.
Changed some to lower speeds, switched different duplicate equipment.
All things separate from the furnace.
Sadly the furnace had a cracked intake and the venting motor was running non stop.
To do repairs would be a penny wise pound foolish choice.

Brian was in no way pushy but very informative and clearly but not condescendingly explained the choices for replacement furnaces.
After thought, and research I made my selection and contacted the office with my decision.
There was a bit of a glitch in getting on the calendar but it was handled very well by Casey amongst others.

PART TWO:

At the scheduled time, in fact a bit early, and  several pictures of the service agent Scott and his assistant Tyler were sent.
They were incredibly polite and efficient.
They worked non stop from 8:30 am till after 2:30 in the afternoon.
Scott and Tyler kept me informed the whole way through, they were changing the temperature, adding flashing on the previous outlet and so on.
They whole event was ( except for the cost) pleasant!
The service agents were absolutely top notch. Brian, Scott and Tyler.
I can't speak more highly of them.

So far I can only recommend going with Zenner and Ritter.

They are awful.  Our furnace and A/C unit was installed by them awhile ago (by previous homeowner).  The furnace stopped working earlier this year (April) and we called to have it looked at.  They came out and although we had let them know that we receive HEAP, the guy wound up charging us nearly $100 just to look at it and tell us what we already knew.  In fact, the guy placed paper clips into the heat sensors and actually left them in and never even put the screws back in.  He then told us we needed a new furnace for another $2500 or so.  After talking with Reps from HEAP, we were informed that we should NOT have been charged for the service call as HEAP recipients get this covered through the HEAP program.  They told us to call Zenner & Ritter and let them know they needed to refund our money.  We talked with numerous people at Zenner & Ritter about this and they said they would NOT give us our money back (And they never did!).  Also, the guy who did show up on the service call was very condescending and a total know-it-all or so he thought.  Very unprofessional and nasty to say the least.  I did let Zenner & Ritter know that I was going to post about our horrible experience online to help others avoid making a huge mistake and they're response was....go ahead....we don't care!!!  So, our advice....DO NOT USE ZENNER & RITTER....They are crooks.  They only care about taking your hard-earned money.  Your satisfaction is NOT guaranteed with them.  This company is garbage......Don't get sucked in.....you'll regret it!!!

furnace stopped working and a technician determined I needed my induction motor replaced as well as my fuel control system for an estimate of $1400.  It was suggested that i should consider a new furnace because the current on is 16 years old.   Decided to get a second opinion despite a second service call charge.  I'm glad I did.  Called Armor Heating who indicated over the phone that it was highly unlikely those two parts would go bad at once and sent a tech out the same day.  The diagnosis: a plugged condensate drain line.  Furnace up and working like a charm.  Seriously??  How does a tech misdiagnose a plugged drain line for $1400 in parts?  I'm sure the fact that the tech spent more time  explaining my options for a new furnace vs diagnosing the actual problem was just coincidental (insert sarcasm here).
I wouln't recommend Zenner & Ritter and their unethical business practices to anyone.

Update:

Brian,
I'm not sure how your statement   He did not indicate that either component was failed but documented they were operating outside of manufacturer suggested parameters (recorded screen shots of the meter used).  Options were provided for those components both separately and together, as well options for a new system   can be interpreted any other way than to suggest the two parts needed to be replaced.  My furnace was not functioning, and the technician was unable to remedy the situation.  The options provided were to replace the parts in question for $1400  or replace the entire furnace.

Inexperience, lack of training, whatever you would like to call it, but as a customer I find it unacceptable.

On Oct 18th I called Zenner and Ritter to have a service technician come out and find out why my furnace, purchased through them and under warranty, kept turning off. It heated the house but had to be turned on at the furnace every day.
On Oct 20th Aaron, the service tech came by and did a very thorough inspection of the entire system, vents and all, and determined that the problem was a bad fuel valve and that they would need to replace the Fuel Control System. He decided to turn the fuel valve off until they came back out and in the process broke it. I signed a service agreement, expensive but necessary. Paid him $97.33 for coming out and was told it would be a few days for them to get the part.
It is now November 9th, and I have had to call them four different times to find out when my furnace will be repaired. They won't call us to give us any updates and every time I call I just get told, they will call me when they get the part in. They offer no other information or solution.
In the meantime, we've felt the temperature drop steadily, down to the 30's in the evenings. I'm worried about the health and safety of my family, my water pipes, and how much longer we'll sit here shivering. While my furnace wasn't running like it was supposed to, it did at least run before they came out to look at it, and the company just keeps blowing me off, like there's nothing they can do about it.

I called for annual maintenance on my combi unit (boiler and tankless water system) a couple of days ago (10/16). I have gotten this maintenance done by the end of October early November in the past and usually called around this time of year. I was told the earliest I could have this maintenance done was February of next year. By that time winter will be nearing it's end. Even though they told me they would move me up if there were cancellations this is a big disappointment. I have been using this company for my heating needs for over 30 years and have never experienced this long of a wait time. Very sad.... I'm glad my unit is only two years old but anything can happen

I called Zenner and Ritter to make an appointment to fix my furnace.  I had to pay for the estimate.  However, when I asked for the actual estimate, I was referred to a website, which did not have specific information related to my furnace, just a list of services they could provide to me.  When I called again to ask for the estimate I had paid for, they said they had to refer it to another team member who would get back to me.  Finally, I did get the estimate and it was over 1K more than the estimate I received from another company.  I went with the other company.

They have to be the most mis-managed service company in the WNY area.   This year alone I called them twice to give estimates and even though both times I accepted their estimate and called them several times to schedule, they never called back and I ended up finding someone else to do the job.   First was a water heater replacement and last time was my standby generator.   The young man they sent to give the estimate did not know what was wrong and called his supervisor and  spent three hours and came up with a laundry list of things that were wrong with the generator.   After waiting 2 months for the repairs I called someone else and found out the there is nothing wrong with the generator and that is why it took Z&R service tech 3 hours to make the list of part he should replace.   He left the generator in off position so it does not kick in if there was a power failure.   So not only they are mis-managed they are incompetent.   I would advice people out there to avoid dealing with them.

So frustrated with the customer service this company has. We had a service call and were assured that the if the cost was more then the original $88 dollar amount we would be called to authorize. They never called, and as things go we didn't notice the amount on our credit card until a month later. $380 - WHAT was this? NO invoice, NO call...scam. The customer service person said they did call and go no answer - that's your excuse? The manager said that they didn't understand why she lied about calling and would talk to the owner. The owner authorizes a service person to RECLAIM the freon and refund our money. So let me understand. Instead of just giving us a real invoice for the service we THOUGHT was done (Freon) you loose all your $ and the cost of having a person come to our house to take it instead? Stellar business plan. Adema heating and cooling here we come...

They used to be very reliable and had decent pricing.  I tried using them this month on 2 different jobs.  One, they charged me $439 to replace a $2 wax ring on a toilet that took 20 minutes.  Secondly, they came out for an estimate to run plumbing lines to a new  bathroom.  The plumber called a couple days later to verify the work and submit the estimate.  After not receiving the estimate, I called to follow up and was told the project was to much for them to handle.....We were looking to run lines for a vanity and toilet.  I have been disapppointed with this company after always relying on them.

I have been working with Zenner and Ritter for only a few months, but I extremely impressed by them! So far they did a major plumbing job for me, and did an impressive job at a VERY REASONABLE PRICE! Today they installed a backup generator for me and once again did an impressive job!

Don't call them. Had them come out because a tenants child dropped toys down a heat vent and plugged it. The clown that showed up said he had bad knees couldn't do anything for me. The next day they called and said he forgot to charge me the 90.00. I said he didn't do anything. She said he diagnosed the problem. I knew what the problem was. I refused to pay. Ended up paying the bill to avoid collection. Lesson learned.

Aside from one minor problem, which may have not been their fault, my experience with Zenner and Ritter was very positive.

Shortly before the beginning of this winter, I called them because my furnace was not working when I was making sure there would be no rude surprises in the winter. Though they said they would get someone over to look at it that day, no one showed up and I called the next day and got someone over. It sounded like they were having a technical problem that prevented the order from getting out.

The person who looked at my furnace and fixed it was very polite and professional. He got things working very quickly and the price seemed reasonable.

Called Zenner and Ritter yesterday to have them come out and look at my furnace that was not running good.  Company was very professional and prompt when responding and I felt very taken care of. Up until the point their technician came to my house.

He was very friendly and professional and came down with his bucket of tools but that's where everything went south.  I told him I had a close friend who was in the HVAC business look at it last week and so I mentioned to him what we thought the problem was.  Then he literally squatted down to look at the furnace (cover was already off) and said sorry this thing is shot! There's nothing I'm going to be able to do for you. You are going to need a new system bc your secondary heat exchange is done Now my friend warned me that there was a probability that the exchange could be bad but parts would need to be removed to correctly diagnose the problem.
So I then asked how do you know the exchange is bad by not looking at it?
He said, bc of this cracked plastic cover over it.  He roughly quoted me $2000-2500 to fix the problem but in his professional opinion it would not be worth it bc it was an older unit (1999).

I said that we were in no financial position to buy a new furnace and we really just need to fix the inducer motor and cracked plastic cover it is attached too( this was the issue my friend diagnosed).

He said we just wouldn't do it and would not recommend doing that work.  He then offered to give me a quote on new systems the sell and I declined.

The next day I called Cellino Plumbing who also have a HVAC specialist.  He came out and saw the same issue as my friend and Rob - however this tech said there is no way to know for sure if heat exchange was bad/cracked unless we took the plastic cover off and actually looked at it. So he did. And guess what?! It was perfect.  Cellino Plumbing quoted me $941 total for parts and labor. (Compared to Zenner and Ritters rough quote of $2000-$2500).  Will not be going be to Zenner and Ritter.  In fairness to the company this may be a rouge dishonest employee but I would never take a chance and try them again. There are just too many company's out there.

I had Zenner and Ritter come out 4 weeks ago for a yearly service for 2 AC units and 2 furnaces. $330 for the service and I was told I need two new furnaces. Cost was a little high for 2 hours of service, but it is what it is.

Now I'm having issues with my air conditioning unit, it keeps tripping the breaker. I believe it's a capacitor. So I call back thinking they'd guarantee their work for a period of time. I was told I would receive a discounted cost of $84 plus parts and labor after that for a tech to come out (regular cost of $89, thanks the the discount).

I'm not happy with the service I feel as though I paid a lot of money for not much of a return, and now I'm stuck with a bad air conditioner after they said it worked perfectly.

The company as a whole was great! They did a big install in one day. The installers were professional and cleaned up their mess. They also made sure that we understood how everything worked. Although we did have an issue with the hot water tank within a year after it was installed, they were quick to fix it no charge. They also explained what happened to cause the problem in the first place.

Our AC stopped working last night. I called Zenner & Ritter around 10am today and they sent a technician out before 11am. My husband had suspected it was the motor and the technician confirmed this and gave us a fair price to replace. It was repaired quickly and efficiently. We are very pleased with Zenner & Ritter.

After moving into my first home, I saw my sump pump was older and that the battery backup sump pump that was left behind was done, out of commission.  I had a few contractors stop out and provide a (free) quote on installing a water-powered backup sump pump, as well as installing a new sump pump.  I saw Zenner & Ritter ads on TV and they were the last contractor to come out.  Out of everyone, they provided the most reasonable price so I decided to go with them.

I was impressed that I was able to schedule the work to take place just about 3-4 days from when I called their office!  On the day of the work, I received a phone call about 30 minutes prior to the first of two workers arrived.  The first worker arrived and I showed him around and talked through the job.  About 25 minutes later, the other worker arrived and after we talked for a few minutes, they went right to work.  I let them be to do the work and in about six hours, they were completely finished and cleaned up!  They walked me through everything that they had done and gave me all of the manuals and emailed the receipt, as well as pictures of the work before and after.

All-in-all, I am very pleased with the work done!  I now have that peace of mind with a new sump pump and a water-powered backup sump pump in the case that my power goes out.  I will definitely consider Zenner & Ritter for any future work.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! STAY FAR AWAY!!! Tried to rip me off and charge me FULL PRICE for a unit they installed a couple months ago that went on the blink. They should have replaced the defective unit free of charge, but instead tried to charge me FULL PRICE and the once friendly person (Ray) who first showed up at my house turned very angry and did NOT want to replace it for FREE!! (The unit lasted 2 months and he expects me to pay full price for it????!!!!!!!) Are you kidding me???!!!! VERY SNEAKY AND SHADY experience!! Would not trust them after this experience. There are SO MANY other reputable companies in the area that you should not have to deal with these people.

Had a meeting scheduled with a comfort care specialist he called before the meeting and didn't know why we were meeting. After I explained he still didn't want to meet. He finally tendered a verbal quote (crazy high) and when I asked if he could break down the price between labor /parts / equipment he said we don't do that, clearly code for we don't want your business and don't want you to know how much we mark stuff up. Kind of a weird business model to have comfort care specialists on commission. Long story- shop around I bought direct and paid an electrician and saved $2000. I hope they are comfortable with my decision.

Had a pretty disappointing experience on my followup.
Called on a Saturday morning with an issue with my 3 year-old water heater, and a Technician came out the same day (great!) but was unfortunately not able to fix the heater. He informed me that the office would call me Monday morning to arrange a replacement part and service visit. They did call, but requested that i call the manufacturer and get the part myself. I called the manufacturer and they gave me a warrantee claim number to provide to the servicer to get the parts that they needed. Upon calling them back they were not helpful, wanting me to call the manufacturer again and have them ship the parts to me, eventually telling me they were busy and would call me back later. I left a follow up voicemail that evening and never heard back. Called another service provider, and they took care of me right away.

First service call automatic 89.99 + tax ( tech let me know when HE WAS HERE that is for the 1st 1/2 hr).  Did little to remedy the problem and was told needed a new pressure control for the boiler. Tech calls a supplier  and tells me the part is $174.00 plus $47.00 to come back and put it in. Told him I would wait to see if the gauge pressure stabilizied after THE LONG PROCESS(5MINS)TO UNSCREW THE VALVE and flush.  Went on line and found the exact part needed for $38.00, new.  Called zero & litter to ask if I had the part would they put it in?  HIM:  we can put it in but won't guarantee the part and the CHARGE is still $221.00 to do it!  I need to make my profit and can't for 47.00.  This company is ripping off customers for parts, lying about what the part costs, tacking on at least 3 times what it really cost (I understand a delivery charge is in order).  Deceiving customers in this age can come back to bite, when a click of a mouse can let you know exactly how much a part is. Beware if you use them most likely you will be paying way too much.

We had used Zenner and Ritter for over 30 years.  Their staff had done tune-ups and replaced a furnace for us.
During Easter our furnace stopped working.  Zenner sent out a worker (let's call him Jim) and went through the heating system to try and get it running.  A fuse was replaced and then we were told it could be the computer module ($500) or the entire furnace ($3,100) and I needed to decide fast.  If the computer module didn't fix the system then I would pay for the module and the new system.  The charge was $383.00
Since the parts place was closed I told the worker I didn't need to decide so fast.  On Monday I asked another furnace company to look at my system.  The worker replaced the fuse that Zenner put in and the system went on.  No other problems.  The furnace is running since Easter without issues.  The charge $90.

Last year they put my Generator in. I paid more than should of. I was close to 65th birthday and was not explained about the Discount. There more fees not explained to me about the additional fees. I should went some one for another estimate. Plus They did ask me what I wanted on the new generator and they put pool lights on. Plus when I complained suddenly I got a problem. Some one reported I had Rats in my Basement. Well they were the only ones down there.  They do subtractors . I told 3 people so far not to got with them.

After receiving quotes for a new boiler (to replace the existing 32 year old one) we chose Zenner & Ritter. Earl came to the house to review the scope of the project and we received a couple of options via email. All paperwork was easily sent via email, excellent.

Scheduling was easy. The team of Rob and Rick arrived just when expected. They were super courteous and hard working, letting me know what was going on as needed. Tarps were placed over the hardwood flooring and care was taken at all times regarding tidiness.

Rob reviewed with me what they would be doing, and just how pretty the new machine was going to be. We'd delayed replacing this boiler for a number of reasons, including who to trust? We're confident we chose well! They dealt with all obstacles and challenges that came up and left the place better than when they arrived.

After installation, Rob reviewed how-to on the thermostats (leaving a little cheat-sheet tucked into the back of each one for easy reference) and went over the paperwork with me. Although I paid by check, you could also use a credit card, which might be convenient in an emergency.

Lastly, Rob informed me of a new program Zenner & Ritter offers, kind of an insurance policy where for a reasonable monthly fee, they'll take care of your boiler (furnace, a/c, hot water tank, etc.) by coming to your home twice a year to maintain the equipment and avoid problems. I mean, who really checks these things unless you're suddenly out of hot water in the shower or have no heat in January?

UPDATE: Z & R lost a star because of pushy emails after a follow-up visit imploring me to write a positive review and post - essentially everywhere BUT yelp:
google, Facebook, Other (which when clicked takes you to Angie's List) or if you don't have an account with any of those, you can choose to leave your positive review with BBB or judy's book (who ARE these women, Angie, Judy??) Grrr, I do not appreciate being asked to leave a positive review over and over (THREE requests in 7 days is two too many). And it really fries my bacon when they didn't even acknowledge my (previous) five-star yelp review. Hellooo?
OK and never send a young person to check out the working condition of the new boiler without first reminding them to NOT tell the recently AARP-eligible homeowners that as we age we feel the cold more. Say what?? (Super nice field service rep, just saying'.)

I had a new boiler replaced.  Although the work looked great, I had numerous problems.  The very first winter my home would not come up to the temperature that I set my thermostat at. The boiler turned on and off very frequently (like every five minutes!)   when the company sent someone out, I was told I needed additional baseboard units installed.   This was not discussed during the estimate time, and I did not opt to do so and used additional portable heaters.  The following year, the unit made a horrific noise, so I called a different company and they replaced a part to the tune of $350.00, but I still lacked enough heat.  (yes my radiators had been bled).  Later, I had someone come out and they adjusted the unit's setting and it seemed to be working much better, until this summer of 2019.  Although I had the temp. all the way to 50 on my thermostat, the heat kept kicking on.  So, again someone came out (not from Z&R) and knew exactly what the issue was, it was a simple adjustment.  I forgot to mention that the other folks that came out disagreed with the need for more baseboard heat.  So, we will see what winter brings.  I do not recommend this company.

Hello everyone, my experience with ZENNER & RITTER Heating and Cooling repair of Buffalo NY, is the worst I have ever dealt with. After 3 service calls to my home, THEY cannot fix my Furnace. The first Tech was not good, He showed up 8:30 pm, when he was supposed to be there a 7:00 pm, and was rude. After installing a new thermostat, heat still didn't work properly. After 2 more calls, they tell me its a different part or problem each call.  Now they say I need a whole new furnace. Now a fourth call is scheduled. As the tenant I am stuck with no heat now, and this Heather woman who answers the phone there is very condescending, by telling me over the Phone, we only talk to the Landlord? Do not call them for any service If you really want your furnace or appliance fixed the first time.

We have had a terrible experience with this contractor .  They sold us an expensive , supposedly premier air conditioner for our house.   We have had it for 8 years and it has stopped working twice, costing hundreds of dollars to repair.  After the last repair we were told it may not last another two years.  These people did NOTHING for us.  They took no responsibility for selling us this defective product.  Charged us full price for all work done .  Do not work with them .

I called this morning to set up an appointment for a furnace tune up. The woman told me there would be someone in the area that afternoon and they would be there between 12 and 5. A five hour window is pretty unreasonable, but I agreed. At 4:45, still not hearing anything, I called and was told I was the next call. 5:20 rolled around and I called back. They were closed! The number sent me through to a call service and I told them that I had had enough and to cancel my service call. Ten minutes later a man called back and said that I was informed that I was the next call and wondered why I cancelled. He also said he could not yet reach his worker because he was in a basement (so obviously not yet finished with the previous customer even at 5:30!). I would love to rate their service, but I waited over 5 hours and they never showed up.  Stay away from this horrible company. Go anywhere but here.

Absolutely positively undeniably the worst in the business. Management does not respond to calls. Even their techs acknowledge this fact. Think of any experience you have had with the phone company but Ritter is 100 times worse. They push the aging population of Buffalo to buy products they do not need. The installation is then done incorrectly, and the ongoing service is cartoon-like. They do bill very effectively and endlessly. Run away and don't look back. They are terrible.

We live in an older home, built around 1900, on the East Side of Buffalo. Through the EmpowerNY program of NYSERDA, we qualified to have our house insulated at no cost to us. The lady set us up with Zenner & Ritter, but a few days before the job was to start, a man from there called & said they would not be coming by. Zenner & Ritter is also located on the East Side of Buffalo itself, so it can't be a question of geographic snobbery. I suspect it was just lack of motivation, which I have encountered many, many times around here.

Horrible customer service.  When you call them with problem, they repeatedly state responsible person will give you call-back, but they never call back.  Work unsatisfactory.  Push unnecessary services.  Beware.

This company has sent me two emails requesting a review, so here it is.  Scammers sums it up.  Tried to push a whole new boiler unit with smooth talk from a female (who I'll be nice enough to not name) in the office that my unit is not worth fixing and it will just break again.  That's funny, we got a second opinion from a different reputable company who said it would be a waste to replace my unit at its current age...it was still in good condition.  Repaired/cleaned for $400 cheaper compared to what I was quoted by Zenner.  Also no communication technician tells me one thing office says another.  Stay away.  Will also be disputing a credit card charge for a service Zenner billed me for, that was not even performed!  Management never got back to me, still waiting from a call I placed 6 hours ago now.  Saved from spending $3,000.  What is going on here? What a headache and waste of time to deal with this company.

I called Zenner & Ritter about correcting some prior installation issues with a boiler unit from another contractor. They came out and told me I need replace the 2 year old boiler even though it's working fine and has no problems. When I asked why they said because it might eventually go out on you. NEWS FLASH! All equipment has a limited lifetime. All equipment will eventually die. That's not a good reason to spend 4x on a project now!

They ballparked the work at over $8,000+. I found another reputable company to correct the issues for 1/4th of that price. What a waste of a $100 estimate fee. Do yourself a favor and save some money by going elsewhere.

We had a pipe burst over the weekend.  We waited until today to have them come to save some money.  45 minutes later we were all set.

Great experience and follow up when we called on Sunday.  So glad it was inexpensive and easy.

Would recommend this place...also bought our boiler and hot water tank from them

The service person, Dan M was super. He was very professional and courteous in every way . He answered all my questions to advise me if my air conditioning system was adequate for my home and why. He was honest to advise that I did not need a new furnace my home thermostat in the summer.

They are awful they lie and the office staff are rude and pretty much say you are a liar (they say we listened to the recording and she never said that and we emailed you the estimate)!  I am new to Tonawanda and was referred them by Home Depot. They have came out twice to my home once for a estimate, and the 2nd time for the electrical work for a garbage disposal and a dishwasher. After spending a few hours they said they could not do the work (gave all kind of reasons why, and that the electrician would have to come in that they were only plumbers) They did do the new hose bib, and replace the shower canister which was installed incorrectly and they had to reinstall it. I still believe it is installed incorrectly. I paid the 330.00 for that work). I called the office to ask they why they did not send an electrician as they stated they would have to do, and that this was not acceptable. They wanted to come in again and do another estimate, as well as do the work that day. I told them no that I was not going to pay more after they already estimated the full job at 1290.00. The estimator girl was rude to me when I asked for the estimate she said I am busy right not and I can not send it right now, she got rude with me when I question the estimate (I never received it either).

The girl who answers the calls was understanding the day I called to complain, but when I called today she was not. When I told her that I had told the plumbers that I could not do Friday they said they would put it in for Monday which I could do.

I received a text message this morning that they would be coming out today, so I called the office to let them know I could not do today, and that I could do Monday like I told the plumber who was putting in to his tablet. She then said well he must of e-mailed it to someone else, and that they only do estimated on specific days. I said I did not need another estimate already have a verbal one for the work that's when she said that the electrician would have to reevaluate the job. I said I just need the work you estimated done, and she said that he would also do the work that day.

That set off alarm bells so I said I am not going to pay more, and she said well I can not tell you that. So I told them that I did not want them in my home, and that I will pay the 330.00 for the work done yesterday. I then stated that is still had not received the estimate and that I thought they were rude to their customers. That is when she aggressively said well I listened to the recording an she never said that to you and she did send you the estimate. So I said are you calling me a liar she said no, so I said so she did not say that to me and the estimate was sent? She said yes. I then asked they why did I ask you for the estimate yesterday if I had received it and why would I say that I was talked to rudely? I told her to that I never wanted them out at my home and to run the charges for the work done yesterday.

She then rudely stated that I am trying to what is your e-mail address. I also said I would report this to the BBB which I did.

They apparently send plumbers in to homes to do electrical work. I have requested from the BBB that they ask for the license for the two who came in to do electrical work at my home.

The person that was sent to repair our furnace stole my wife's engagement ring and apparently was looking at our silver in the dining room because the police found his prints on the cabinet. The employee was arrested after the ring (smashed apart) was sold for the diamond and gold to the Pawnshop on Transit Rd just south of Main Street on the west side of the road. By the way, it's LEGAL for a pawnshop in Amherst to sell the jewelry without a waiting period. If the ring were in one piece, the shop would have to hold it for a period of time, I think 3 days. Anyway, the owner, Brian Ritter, of Zenner and Ritter made NO attempt to ensure we were paid back!
The employee, Richard Donovan, now has his own HVAC business called Donovan Heating and cooling. So, beware of him too!
My furnace didn't get fixed that day!!

Never again! I needed insulation and because of my income they would do a energy audit to see if I qualify for assistance.  In March Earl called and told my I was full covered at no cost to me.  I asked twice to be sure and he stated I would not need to pay.  The job was done in April  of 2018, a few months after I receive a bill for almost $2000.00 so I called right a way and they said I only qualify for half assistance, I have been going back and forth I told them I would have never had this done if I had to pay.  I have learned to get this stuff in writing from now on.  Thanks Zinner and Ritter for nothing!  Because of them I am now in debt.

Brian and the guys from Zenner and Ritter do an excellent job whenever we use them. Brian even called after my service was performed to see if the job was up to the standards that Zenner and Ritter are known. And it was. Timely, knowledgeable, and, professional.

I hired Zenner & Ritter to install a new hot water tank for me shortly after buying my house last year. They came exactly at the time they said they would and completed all the work promptly. The tech walked my through all the work he did and made sure I understood how to work the tank.

I was so pleased with their work that I hired them again to install new AC in my house. Again, they did a great job and were comparable in price with the discount AC guys. The unit wasn't working correctly after a few weeks. Z&R sent someone out and they were able to diagnose and fix the problem (a defective part on the unit) in 24 hours.

Recently, my sump pump died and I called Z&R first. They replaced my sump pump and performed some extra work on the outside of my home to help with water getting into the well at no additional charge.

I have been really happy with Zenner & Ritter and I make sure I recommend them every chance I get.
