I am surprised seeing some negative reviews here. We just had our boiler and water heater, replaced by village plumbing, and couldn't be happier with their service. Tim, the owner, is very responsive and concerned about making his customers happy. His workers were very attentive and responsive as well. We have been doing business with them for over 15 years and never was disappointed. Through the years, they always responded very quickly to emergency situations, which I am very grateful for.

Called because I had a pin hole leak in a pipe... they sent over the rudest helper they could find. First he quoted me a price that I thought was to high  and when I asked him about it he implied that I probably could not afford it... second the clown who came with him was not wearing a mask and stated he only did if a customer asked... I threw them boy out as fast as I could, rude... uncaring.... No they will not get me to either recommend or re-call them for anything... if you want to pay your hard earned money on someone who will attempt to disrespect you in your own home .... Call them... the worst... never again... they suck!

They should be called Village Crooks!
I have a simple toilet issue and was charged 300 replace a gasket.

I asked the plumber to look  at a slow leak I had in my kitchen sink. The kid gave me a song and dance of how all of my pipes were  going bad and needed to be replaced.

Quoted me at $1700 dollars.

I should have told him to leave at that point but they charge a minimum of $140 to show up.

Next time I am going to call anyone else but Village Crooks!

These guys were a life saver!  After hiring another plumber to fix an emergency situation with my boiler, I asked them to check the work that had been done.  Although they said it was OK, they told me that other things the first plumber told me did not make sense.  They also warned me that my boiler was on its last legs and recommended I get a new one plus a new return line.  They told me exactly what had to be moved in my cluttered basement which I did quite promptly,  I then scheduled the installation of the new boiler.  It was a good thing I listened to them.  The plumber who did the job said my old boiler just crumbled when he went to remove it.  They did an excellent job and cleaned up all their mess.  The plumber explained the workings of the new boiler and told me some things that I had to do for maintenance.  While they were there, I asked them to check on my hot water tank and they told me that it was OK for the present but it could break at any time, due to its age.  So I asked them to replace that also and they got both done in one day.  Professional, polite, informative and just plain friendly.  I highly recommend them.

Have a problem with a 3 zone hot water baseboard heating system where there just isn't enough heat for cold winter nights. I called them to come diagnose the system. The plumber they sent spent 10 minutes looking at the boiler. Said that the heat was set too high on the boiler, and boiler was wired incorrectly. He also looked at one zone valve and stated all three needed to be changed. Quoted me $2200, and then discounted to $2100 dollars as it would need many hours to change zone valves.

I called another plumber who confirmed one zone valve is certainly broken, but the other 2 are fine. Won't say with certainty if it was a misdiagnosis or outright inflating extra work, but either way, I would not go with them again.

The worst part is, the man came for a service call but left immediately when we declined to accept the offer. He left wires detached and covers off when he left. The minimum a plumber should do is leave things the way they were before he came. Of course, the heat couldn't be turned on with the wires detached. Had to have them placed back by someone else.

Their communication is solid and they came around the time they said they would. They also stated they would warranty the work for 1 year which is highly unusual for a plumber, so that is to their credit though who knows if they would actually honor that.

$150 + tax for the service call for anyone wondering what their current price was.

Village Thieves. After using them for decades new owner has turned this into a fleecing scam. Do your due diligence and get a second opinion...better yet save your time and money and don't even bother with these scam artists. Previous work of 40+ years was excellent...then a recent install of a new $50 expansion tank somehow magically ended up being $1,000.  Never again and good riddance.

They came through for me again. I wish that my mother could have had these guys install the gas boiler. They were here at the time that was promised. Also, the cost was reasonable.

I decided to contract Village Plumbing to check my boiler (a 1999 PENNCO gas, hot water model) before the winter season after I researched a few plumbers in the area and they all had either bad reviews or unreasonable prices (see all my reviews for more details).

Village plumbers sent a postcard to my address advertising a full boiler check and cleaning for $129.50 + tax. So I called them and, while I had to remind the lady answering the call that she wouldn't die if she were a little nicer, booking was swift and I had a technician at my house 2 days later.

Ralph, the technician, was very nice and called me 30 minutes before arriving. He thoroughly checked the boiler and kindly explained the function of each of the various components; he advised upon the status of each, like whether it was in good condition or needed to be replaced. He also checked the water tank (a 1996 GE gas model), confirming everything was fine and working properly.

All in all I'm very happy with Ralph and Village Plumbing. I feel the price is still a bit high for the actual job done though.

They are a bunch of crooks. Made a appointment to have my boiler serviced. Plumber came in flooded the boiler with water and then shut it down saying it was cracked and that I needed a new boiler which was quoted at 7000. Needless to say, I had sense enough to call for a second opinion.  Two parts were changed which cost me 1100.  They are a bunch if thieves, don't use them

A bunch of crooks.  First of all they charge $150 just to show up.  My seven year old flushometer didn't shut off.  A techncian arrives, looks it over, and says he has to call his boss. He knows exactly what the problem is and how to fix it but he has to call his boss?  The boss says I should replace the whole flushometer - $750!  Imagine. $750 every seven years for routine maintnance on a flushometer just because they don't want to bother doing a repair. More profitable for them that I should throw away a practically new item than they should repair it.  After arguing with the boss on the phone he finally agrees to repair it by putting in a replacement kit.  $495!!  After more arguing he agrees to do it for $425. But no warranty. I'm not making this up.  The technician goes out for 45 minutes to get the new part. I'd expect a large reputable firm to have routine parts on the truck. Once he had the part the repair took about seven minutes; just flip out the old part and drop in the new.  After it was all over I found out that the replacement kit goes for $35.  Never, and I mean never, will I use them again.

The only company that called me back during the recent cold snap when someone for whom I am responsible had broken pipes. They showed up and quoted a price they stuck with.  Tim is very knowledgeable and honest. Chris and Rob, their techs, were polite and helpful.

Village Plumbing were the only company that returned our call when an issue came up in the recent deep freeze.  Chris came right away, did his best to help get the heat on, but when the job proved to be bigger than we all thought, Tim came and scheduled us for a major repair right away!  Chris and Rob were polite, hard working, and never once complained about how cold it was!  They completed a major job, cleaned up after themselves so that you could hardly tell they had been there, and the price for all the work was fair!!  We will definitely use them anytime we need a heating or plumbing repair!!

The owner Marvin gauges you on price and parts . Needed a low water shut off valve and thermocouple for a Weil McLean boiler . The guy had the nerve to charge me $1000 for what took an hour . And he was rude about it - Prices of the parts at a plumbing store were $150 - the technician was nice but the owner Is arrogant and entitled . I don't mind him making a reasonable profit but what he charged was excessive . He just lost me as a customer

Unreliable, wasted my entire day for a scheduled appointment. Never showed up, never even received a phone call. Nice way to do business. So much for supporting local businesses. Thanks Village Plumbing. Stop thinking your doing us paying customers a favor by excepting a job, we're doing you the favor by choosing to call your company out of he hundreds of others that are available/capable of doing the same job.

Contacted them when my pilot light was out.  Mark came over, attempted to start the pilot multiple times, diagnosed that the valve that keeps the pilot on needed to be repaired.  He also cleaned out the dust that built up in the furnace.  The next day once I had my heat on, my radiators started leaking, the company sent Mark back and he drained the furnace and checked the valves, water feeder and other parts to make sure they were in good working order. Did not charge me.  Their fee is $125 to come out, which gets applied to the job if you have work done.

Came out 2 times and asked basically asked what I thought the problem was, even though I am not an expert. Overall their goal was to spend as least time as possible at the site to make the most money.. 2nd guy who came out was an expert but did nothing but spend half his time talking down to me because I was not smart enough to understand a boiler. (Steam heat is over 100 years old) After 20 mins of hubris, he decided there was nothing he could do. After talking to someone who knew less, he then decided to actually look at the boiler and then realized that there were problems. I am a tech myself who builds and fixes computers. If you make a housecall, the least you can do with a $125 min appearance fee is look at the device and run diagnostics on all parts. Of course they charged us the full price both times, even though the first tech didn't bother to check out the parts. Save your time and patience and choose a company that at least knows the definition of professionalism.

I would give them no stars if I could. I called this company when my forced air furnace stopped working after a fan which was scrapping finally seized. I was told that I needed to replace a large part and given a price over $1,000. I asked the service man to tell me how much is labor and how much is the part. He instructed me to call his office. I spoke to a hostile women who told me that they don't itemize, Take it or leave it. Then I spoke to another man who yelled at me. They were so hostile that I felt myself  mentally backing away until I asked them why they were being so mean given that I had not used an angry tone. I told them I did not want them to do the work and the woman called me again to offer a $200 discount. Glad I don't use these mean people because the next company charged me $500 and itemized me bill.
