Thos R Birnie & Sons has been the trusted choice for plumbing and sewer work in Southern Ontario for over 90 years. We've been in business so long, our licence number is even 002 for the city of Hamilton! In the 1920's John Birnie established his sewer business, a trade taken over by his son Thomas. Eventually he developed the business to include his two sons, Roy and Bob. Of course there have been a few changes in that time. The plumbing and sewer services and products offered are now rich and extensive, meeting the growing needs of not only Hamilton, but the entire Golden Horseshoe and Tri-Cities area. A fleet of Stinky trucks and construction vehicles can be seen in Hamilton, Brantford, St. Catharine's, Niagara Falls, Oakville and Mississauga. Our team is larger, but still committed to a positive work environment founded on the values set by John Birnie 90 years ago. Our company continues to flourish and proudly serve our communities.

I am very pleased with the service I received. The plumber who came to my home, Jeff was extremely knowledgeable as well as friendly. His workmanship was superb. He fixed the immediate concern and made some great recommdations to prevent trouble in the future. I will definitely use them again.

My shower was not working with only one bathroom it took them 1 week to get here and when they did they quoted me $1900 to replace me faucet in the shower and I had to supply the faucet. That is robbery. I called another plumber and they charged me $300 to install and I supply the faucet I want. I can't believe these guys are still in business. I usually don't write reviews but this one was ridiculous. How they take advantage of people this is just not fair

We had a Kitchen Sink Drain fail yesterday. I disassembled the sink, taps, cut off the seized shut off valves.(Shut off the Main water Supply First). Purchased the replacement Sink and new taps and Called 5-Stinky. After waiting for 5 hours a tech finally showed up, walked into our home shaking his head and complaining that HE SHOULD NOT BE HERE, cuz hes not on Call. Then proceeded to tell us that it would be $1100.00 to install the sink and taps and put in the Shut-offs. I almost fell on the Floor and then told him to Get out. He was much happier. We called some friends who knew a guy who uses a plumber who we then called. This morning the New Plumber looked at the jobs said, probably be 45 mins. Completed the Work and charged us $226.00, We made it an even $300.00 - WILL NEVER CALL 5-Stinky again.
