Aaaand it gets better. After my review written 2/11/13 a representative from Service Experts contacted me in an attempt to earn back my business and as a gesture offered me a complimentary furnace tune up. I appreciated the effort and thought I'd give them another shot.
As the weather is turning colder, I booked my maintenance appointment. It was scheduled for this morning between 8:00 and 10:00. As 10:00 drew near, I called the office to get an ETA as I have a number of things to do on this, my day off.
The representative on the phone informed me that they had called one of the two numbers listed on my file and left a message to cancel. As it was on my back up phone that I don't use anymore I just went to check. They did.
Just after 2:30 pm yesterday, less than 24-hours before my appointment, someone left a message apologizing that they were canceling my appointment for maintenance because there were calls for repairs to homes that don't have heat.
Ummm, WTF?!?!? First of all, I don't have heat either. While it's been chilly it certainly isn't freezing. You can survive without heat still for a bit.
Secondly, most businesses expect 24-hours to cancel an appointment or charge. Their utter lack of respect for my time and the fact that I had to clear my schedule for this and they just canceled what would have been a 15-30 minute call without consideration is repulsive.
Thirdly, if they had TWO phone numbers for me and the first one went straight to voice mail, why wouldn't they try the other number?!
And lastly, but not least, the woman on the message said that I should call to reschedule and that the soonest they could get me booked for would be late next week or the week after. Clearly, I'm not a valuable customer. If I did business like this company does, I'd be out of business.
Just to add, I am in the middle of closing on two more houses within the next two weeks and I stupidly thought to get Service Experts to service those too. Not anymore. They'll never get another dime from me and I strongly urge anyone reading this to find another service company if they value their time at all.
