Jay, thank you for the amazing communication and great work from Emmanuel and his brother. The fees were reasonable and most importantly the job was done right. After the repair, Emmanuel tested the steam radiator and it had a leak but he quickly resolved it. The work was done well because previously the radiators were loud due to the incorrect pitching.

I hate unresponsive businesses or businesses that take on stuff that they're not actually knowledgeable about but Jay and his team do honest work, they're knowledgeable, and responsive. Definitely hope I don't have new issues in the future but if I do, I definitely would trust jay and his team.

He was so helpful and provided me with all the info he could and stated he'd reach back in the morning with the exact details. He confirmed everything with me in the morning. I called Jay on one of the coldest 3 days we had in NY, I'd awaken to no hot water running . Jay responded quickly and was honest FIRST PLUS he said his team were servicing homes but I wouldn't be forgotten. In that time I googled like what could I do, a blow dryer to the pipe was the quick fix but at that point I just wanted to sure the house was safe to produce and maintain heat. Jay called me back and I told him I had hot water but I did want my radiators refreshed, Jay said no problem SECOND PLUS. Jay walked through and serviced the radiators I wanted and he gave me some jewels about my radiators which is priceless THIRD PLUS!! Jay is soft spoken, EFFICIENT, reliable, and reasonably priced. We had a boiler fail on Christmas Eve!  Pro Plumbing was available, communication was great, and Jonathan was polite, efficient, and did excellent work.

I had multiple issues on my apartment complex, my sump pump and pressure valve were shutting off and I had a clog line as well. Jay was able to assist on all three issues late at night, otherwise I would've had to wait until building services came in the next day. He was very professional and was able to help me out at short notice. I recommend Jay to anyone with plumbing issues, as you can tell he has the knowledge to back up his work. I'm very happy with his work and will definitely use him again!

Johnathan couldnt be a nicer guy. I was having trouble with my hot water so I called Pro Plumbing and Heating and spoke to Johnathan. After sending a few picks he said he would call me with my options. He and Louis arrived the next day and worked their butts off replacing my water heater. THE BEST! I needed help with my hot water heater due to the recent storm. They accurately diagnosed the problem, did only the work that was needed and didn't try to charge more. Other plumbers are gouging clients. Pro Plumbing saved me hundreds of dollars!

I had a 5 year old hot water heater go out suddenly on me that really only required it to be reset and restarted.   I explained the situation to J, I was out of town and it could have been a simple restart up to a part replacement.    

I will say that he did answer and talked through the problem.

The fee's that he quoted (without even seeing the job) were OUTRAGEOUS.   The conversation went like this...  send me some pictures, I'll give you a price range and if you like it, I'll make an appointment.  Starts at $200 for a 5 minute restart, and up to $500 for a simple part replacement.  

Warning, If you are in a situation where your heat went off and you really need help, skip this plumber and use a reputable company that will not price gauge when you are in a tough situation.

5 star.  No I didn't hire the company ...but why the 5 star...because Jay, the owner was honest to tell me that there is nothing wrong with my pipe. He said that the water is coming from other source and he was damn right.

I went on Yelp looking for a reputable company to help relieve my slow bath tub water drain.  After reading all the positive reviews, I decided to give Jay a call.  Spoke to Jay for about 10 mins describing my problem with needing a snake drain on my bathtub.  He was very patient and informative over the phone.

He along with his helper was prompt and texted me when he was on the way.  They removed their shoes upon request which is always a plus.  They helped snaked my tub and was very careful and didn't want to force anything because of the old pipes and all.  Afterwards, they helped cleaned up the gunk and even used my bathroom liquid cleaner to help clean the surface of my tub.  He was also very gracious to also take a quick look and cleaned one of my sink along with tweaking my bathtub handle.  They took their time and did not rush one bit at all.  I will MOST DEFINITELY use them again in the future on all my plumbing and heating needs.  And more importantly, I will certainly refer them to my family and friends.  Absolutely excellent service!!!

We had an emergency on January 17th, 2020.  Our heat was no longer turning on and it was approximately 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside (with the windchill).  We have a 6 month old infant, so the situation was very serious as the house dropped to 59 degrees Fahrenheit inside by 7pm.  We tried to handle the situation ourselves, but gave up and called Jay (the owner) at JV Mech.  He immediately answered the phone, gave me a reasonable  quote, and came over as promised within 2 hours after servicing two other clients.   He was very transparent and resolved our issue fairly quickly after going over every possible scenario.  I would highly recommend this company for HVAC issues because of their honesty, ability to quickly assess the situation, and extensive knowledge of HVAC systems.

I dread calling plumbers for maintenance and have had terrible experiences in the past. I hired this company after noticing a small leak in my water heater because they gave me the best quote after showing them a picture of my hot water unit. Jay came to my house and took the time to explain the issue and which was our best option. He knew exactly what we needed and had us with hot water in no time. He replaced the whole hot water unit. He even gave me tips on small improvements to save us money with heating. He was AMAZING to deal with and I will definitely be using them again.

I had a job that I need to have done. The super claim to have leakage under my toilet. I am so happy that I chose to have JV MECH come in for a second assessment. They clarified the issue and actually saved us from a crazy super situation. I am forever thankful for their services, prices, speediness and plumber knowledge. I swear, if you're good people and need to find other good plumbers that just happened to be good people too.. these are your people. They were transparent on their quotes and were honest. I am so happy I decided after their diagnosis to have them change my toilet out because they even found a faulty gasket that would have been a mystery for the rest of time. I will call them for any problem for now on. I highly recommend them

After the 3rd call of that  day, someone FINALLY answered and said they were installing a boiler and would get back to us the following day. THAT WAS 1 WEEK AGO. Glad we didn't have an emergency, not the people's to call.
Since then after repeated calls and left messages, there has been ZERO responses. Very Lousy communication and an ineffectual bunch of people.

We had a heating problem in my lower apartment for quite some time, but was unsure on who to call. Read most of the reviews for JV MECH and decided to call. Left a message on my first try and followed up with a text. Jay got back to me right away and we scheduled a service visit. He came to my place and inspected my boiler, he was thorough and explained everything that needed to be done clearly. Heating issue is resolved and now everyone is happy and warm. I do recommend JV MECH and will definitely call them again for all my future plumbing requirements.

So my radiator was spewing water heavily. Due to the good experience with Jay previously, I decided to hire him to remediate the problem. He told me to send him photos after I described the situation to him, which I did the same day. The next day he texted me to ask if the leak happens while the heat is off which I answered back in 5 mins, then no response. I called him the next day see if he wants to set up an appointment, he told me he had to call me back in 20 min, which I was informed that the calls and text didn't go thru the next day (which was possible). So I asked him to set up an appointment for the upcoming Thursday, he said he had to get back to me. I heard nothing from him, so I texted him Thursday morning see if he could come, he replied in the afternoon that he had an family emergency so he wouldn't be able to till later, so I asked him how late. He told me around 7-9pm, which would be pretty late not knowing how long the job takes. I asked to reschedule and I haven't heard back from him since... I was nice enough to help him hold the bags and the tools during the first visit so I don't think that's the issue. If the job was too small, he should've informed me from the get go so I could look for helps somewhere else instead of stringing me along. I guess he gets a lot of jobs from the good reviews on here that's why he doesn't care about losing one or two customers. You know what, it's what it's. I will not be using his again, nor will I recommend him to anyone I know! Thanks and no thanks!

Our toilet fill valve stopped working one day and as a result the tank overflew and flooded our bathroom. We tried to shut the water supply only to find out that the shut off valve under the tank didn't work either. On the day of the appointment, Jay gave me an hour window and he arrived on time and replaced all the bad parts.

Our condo building is currently going through a lot of changes and our 'temporary' super did not know where the main shut off valve was located. Jay was the one who walked through the premise to locate the valve so we can fix the parts. Amazing!! Very professional and knowledgeable! I would definitely recommend him to anyone!!

I needed a corroded pipe to be replaced. Jay was very quick, professional, and honest. At first we had a schedule conflict, but he made up for it by coming by on his day off and knocking a few dollars off the price for the inconvenience. Called Jay from JV MECH with a toilet issue. He came over the next day, quickly diagnosed the issue, gave me a couple of different options and then proceeded to resolve the problem!  He was excellent at communicating the problem to me and then explaining what he had to do to fix it.  He worked quick, cleaned up afterwards and charged me a reasonable price.  He does charge to visit but that price is deducted from any repairs he makes during the visit.  Overall, I was very happy with the job.  Thank you, Jay!

As always tried fixing my drain problems myself... couldnt get my snake far enough to celar the clog...in fact may have made it worse.  
Found Jay thru Yelp as a local plumber with great reviews.  He responded to Get Quote promptly, told him it wasnt an emergency but he was able to fit me in the next night (the first i was available).  Quoted me over the phone for what he normally can get done under an hour and explained that anything else we would ahve to see when he gets to the job.

Since I had just done the BR a year ago... he asked if i had pictures so he could see the piping layout... which i did and helped him with his course of action.

Overall Jay and Javier were both very professional, had the right equipment, asked all the right questions ahead before starting the job, were very respectful of our home, explained everything about the plumbing and how these things happen and tips on preventing in the future and answered any questions me or the wife had.

Jay has solved a problem I was having with an expensive but unconventional toilet with diligence, competence & at the least cost. He is professional, prompt & I couldn't recommend him highly enough.  He also solved an issue I was having with my kitchen faucet that another plumber had given up on & responded immediately when my daughter lost her heating.

It's hard to find a knowledgeable and reliable plumber these days, especially someone who also goes above and beyond. For example, when we first contacted Jay about our leaking boiler, he texted us instructions on how to temporarily stop the leaking from our boiler before he came over. That was a great relief! Jay is very friendly and took his time to explain different things to us. He gave his personal opinion and suggestions on plumbing and heating issues that we have. We are very happy with Jay's work. I was in search of a plumber after the outdoor water pipe and faucet broke on a Friday night after several people we were referred to didn't answer or were unavailable to come the next day. Jay answered my call right away and scheduled to come by Saturday morning. He was responsible and sent text messages to update me on his arrival time when he anticipated a delay.

He provided us with a reasonable estimate and offered to fix it right away. Although he had many materials on his truck, he left briefly to pick up specific parts we needed and was back and fixed it within an hour. He even walked around the house to give my husband some estimates on other work we would like to do in the future. He seems honest and knowledgeable. Would use him again.

Jay, the amazing plumber!! Wow.. came to day my bathtub was clogged and two plumbers were not able to unclog it....Jay said I have to listen to my snake lol.....He put the snake machine into the pipe...and slowly figured out, like a scientist, exactly how to bring up a plastic cap that was there for more than one year!! the other two plumbers...failed and Jay succeeded because he knows the science of pipes and drains....amazing guy

I had drainage issues with all the sinks in my house, with the kitchen sink being the biggest issue since it interferes with me doing the dishes every night. The contractor who installed the sink routed the drain fittings underneath the sink in a very inefficient manner which i think contributed to the problem (plus, as an engineer myself, it annoyed me to see something so poorly designed).

I called Jay on a Wednesday and he was able to come the next day. Although the appointment was set for 11am, he texted me at 9:30am to tell me that he was called out to an emergency service and that he will likely be late. That showed me that he holds himself accountable to his customers and I like that.

Jay found that due to the inefficient routing of the pipe fittings for the drain, a lot of food was stuck in the p-trap. He dismantled everything, and ran new fittings that was definitely more efficient, took up less space, and also corrected a few other things that my contractor didn't do right. After a little snaking to clear the drain behind the wall, I had a perfectly working kitchen sink again.

Jay also cleared the sink in the half bath as well as gave me some advice what I should be doing to maintain my steam heat boiler. I definitely plan to call him back to to some work on the full bath, and likely to take a look at my heating system next fall. Jay is very personable, will explain everything he's doing, show you what he's found, and willing to answer all your questions. I highly recommend him.

On Monday February 1st I contacted Jay for something that went wrong with my washing machine.  He made an appointment with me. He was so polite and knowledgeable.  The man knows his craft.  He explained everything he was doing and thoroughly took charge of the situation.  I think 5 stars is to little if I had an option of 10 stars I would give it to jay.  Very good, exceptional, knowledgeable, polite, trustworthy, dependable.  I WILL definitely call him, again and again.  He is my plumber for life..  Awesome job.....

I used to work with Yuda, but when he moved he referred me to Jay. Jay fixed a leaking valve in my building's basement, and then replaced my leaking faucet. While replacing my faucet he noticed that I had a blockage in the pipes and he snaked it, which allowed the water to drain normally. He was very conscientious and thorough, and I'm grateful that Yuda connected his old customers with Jay.

Jay got my heat on late November when I was freezing in Floral Park. He was fast and reliable and taught me a bunch about my system. Great plumber and very helpful.

Jay was very thorough in his job and looked at ways to minimize costs. I had an issue with toilet and I brought all the parts and he said only needed a few of the parts and rest I could return or save for future use. He also tried to address leaky shower by making adjustments to internal pieces instead of me spending $150 for a cartridge.  He explained everything as he was doing the work and answered all my questions in a way that a person with no knowledge of plumbing can understand.

I can't tell you how I dread having to call a plumber or electrician when the need arises. My experiences for the most part left me wondering if I made the right choice and so I would keep looking. I believe I found my plumber of choice-Jay of JVMECH. We had a slow leak that involved both bathroom and kitchen sinks that were joined to one drain pipe. He and his helper came one hour after I called and he told me what the problem was. He mentioned a couple of solutions and then went out to get the supplys he needed. He had a bit of a hard time as some stores were getting ready to close or didn't have what he needed. Once they got to work they were careful to do the least amount of damage to get to the pipes. They cleaned up the mess and he even patched up drawer he had to cut back of to get to pipe. Hopefully this is it and won't need to call Jay again til the next problem. If you need a plumber give him a try- you'll see for yourself!

Called for an issue with my shower; it would either be scolding hot or freezing cold. After briefly explaining this (as well as sending a photo of my shower) he promptly diagnosed the problem and arrived the next day. Not only did he fix the shower, he also managed to snake a drain that had been giving me problems. Complete professional in every sense of the word. If you want a solid and reliable plumber, this is your guy.

Contact JV Mech after reading their review.  We were in great need of a good no excellent plumber that was NOT gonna rip us off. Having had so so many bad experiences.   Jay contacted us immediately tenant had no heat or water.  He responded the very next afternoon fixed the problem and charged us such a reasonable amount we were honestly left speechless and extremely grateful. I had an issue with my boiler and radiator. Jay quickly diagnosed the problem and explained to me, in great detail, what was wrong and what needed to be done. He is dedicated to the task at hand. Follows through with great care and efficiency. Afterwards, he pointed out and explained the maintenance and preventative care for my boiler system. For a first-time homeowner, like myself, this level of professional care is most welcoming. Look no further! Jay has become my go-to guy in this department. He should be yours, too!

My radiators were making very loud banging noises.  After unsuccessful efforts to fix the problem using other repair men, Jay finally solved my problem and gave me a good clear explanation of the problem.  Fully satisfied with the work done.

A few months ago, our tub drain was going down slow again and our sink drain started to get slow too, so we called the plumber. He came and fixed the tub drain but for the sink drain, he made it worst. He tried his best for a couple hours. He snaked it and told us there was a blockage somewhere deeper in the pipes. Under the sink, he recommended that we replace the top pipe because it was corroded, so we agreed to it and he put in a new brass pipe. After trying again for an hour to try to make the sink drain go back to normal, he couldn't and told us we probably have to get the pipes that were in the walls checked. Turns out he made the sink drain even worst because the water doesn't slowly go down...it takes like 20 minutes a few cups of water, when it used to take less than 5 minutes to drain the same amount of water before the plumber tried to fix the sink drain. Despite the couple of hours he spent working on the sink drain, he could not fix it and actually made it worst. Even worst is that he still charged us an exorbitant amount and said he could come back another day to try to fix it (and still charge us for it, even though he worsened the problem). We basically paid for our sink drain to get worst. Last week, we also discovered there was a leak coming from the new brass pipe he installed. Every day we have to empty the medium sized plastic tupperware we placed under the leaky pipe.

I hate to be the guy but they left with with no choice. I've had them come and service my boiler and change my thermostat from an old conventional one to a nest thermostat. They were at my house for at most 90 minutes. Charged me $375 for what they did. Ok, even though I though it was a big expensive I didn't complain because they were very nice and seemed honest. The issue I was having is that the heat is not as strong on the 2nd floor as it is on the 1st or in the basement. They advised that I split it in two zones which would take care of the problem, they seemed like they knew what they were talking about. Ok, I asked them what that job would cost and they told me they would email me an estimate but the next or the weekend (they were at my place on Thursday). It's been 3 months and I have yet to receive that estimate. I've reached out to them to ask them to send it to me and they gave me some random nonsense about having issues with his email and they he would send it right away, nothing!! Really disappointed. Sucks because I probably would've hired them to do the job but they never got back to me.

I used this Plumber about a month ago and had a great experience. I called him a few days ago for a small issue and he was so helpful. This is my go to guy from now on!

They sent out plumber out to my house , he came investigated and found the problem and replaced the worn out seal at the base of my toilet. The plumber was courteous and informative and was very organized and had my problem fixed pretty quick. I highly recommend them.

My parents were having drainage issues with their kitchen sink and shower. Jay was professional throughout the entire process.  He would call/text ahead of time to inform us  when he would be arriving. Very good impression from Jay from first speaking on the phone.  He is a helpful, gentle guy and explained things over the phone.  His communication was good when setting up an appointment, and he texted me with any updates on when he expected to arrive.  I had a new shower/tub system that was installed poorly and had issues with the water pressure.  Jay understood my concerns and successfully troubleshooted the issue.   He is thorough and takes the time to do a high quality job.  He is an experienced plumber who knows his craft.  I wanted to fully 'test' out all the components and he patiently waited while I did so.  He takes caution not to scratch or damage other surfaces of the bathroom while working.  He also gave me good advice on plumbing fixtures.  His price was fair and I would definitely call him again!

Jay was excellent! He was very easy to communicate and plan with. He worked efficiently and was unbelievably persistent. We had a clogged drain that caused our tub to fill with water almost immediately and drain so slowly. He spent a great deal of time and energy trying to carefully snake the drain with multiple snakes. He took caution to protect our old pipes. He refused to give up on the problem after the snakes did not work. He wisely discovered an alternative route to unclog the drain and solved the problem. His price was very fair and his service was impeccable. I can not recommend him highly enough!

I recently called this plumber because my tub and sink were clogged - talk about same day service!  He came later that day and spent time fixing my problem, and explaining how I can avoid it in the future.

We contacted Jay when our heat suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago in the early evening hours (luckily we were having unusual mild temperatures for early Spring).  Although he wasn't able to come that same night because he was held up at another job, he was professional and called us to let us know he was running late.  We asked him to come the next morning (which he did- first thing in the morning) and restored our heat.  Charged us what we feel is a reasonable price for the time he spent fixing the problem.  I called him again this past weekend because I had a clogged kitchen sink (yep.....another maintenance issue in the same month). He wasn't able to come within 24 hrs because he was fully booked,  I ended up using another plumber who I used in the past (I couldn't bare to be without a working kitchen sink for more 24 hrs- especially on the weekend).  Jay contacted me as soon as his schedule permitted and asked if I still needed his services.  I understand he wasn't able to come right away for my two emergencies because he's only one person who can only be at one place at a time. Overall I think he provides good customer service at a reasonable price and that's why he's in high demand (hence why i'm only giving him 4 stars) but I'm definitely keeping his number in my contacts..........good plumbers are hard to find.
