Reviews
We used Cellino Plumbing in order to install a bathroom in our basement. I believe it was one of the owners that came to our house in order to give the initial estimate. My husband was satisfied with the cost and felt comfortable with them so we hired them. The crew arrived in order to install water lines and a toilet in the bathroom. They informed us that the tank for the toilet had to be installed in front of the wall, which was different then we were initially told, but we figured they knew what they were doing. After the installed everything, the town inspectors informed us that it was not installed according to our town's code. Cellino had to come back twice in order to meet code, at no charge to us. My husband then completed the drywall in the new bathroom.
We then called Cellino back in order to hook up the water lines to the faucet/vanity. The plumber informed us that the faucet we bought would not work with the vanity we bought and then tried charging us another $200 for a diagnostic test. My husband then asked what that was and the plumber could not explain it. Basically, it was determined that the cost was to tell us that the faucet did not fit. After a lengthy conversation with the plumber, in which he had to call for approval, the charge was waived. During this visit, the plumber also informed us that the toilet tank (which we wanted behind the wall but was told upon installation was not possible) could be placed behind the wall. Cellino did offer to do that for us, only charging us for the part to do so. The problem now is that my husband has to redo the drywall and paint in our brand new bathroom, since they did not do this during the first appointment.
Overall, I do think that Cellino and the owners are knowledgeable and willing to work with customers. It seems that there is a communication problem and that the plumbers employed are not as experienced as they could be. Their prices also seem a little high. Therefore, because of the issues we faced, even though they were resolved, we will not be using Cellino Plumbing again. I would advise you to hire a different plumbing company.
I have to start by saying Tony Cellino is an honorable man. I wish I could say the same for the so called plumber he sent to do the work my wife and I contracted him to do. John C is an nice guy but we didn't hire him because we needed a new friend, we hired him to be a plumber to do a relatively simple bathroom remodel. He was not up to the task. In fact, he took our plumbing situation and made things worse. First, he back pitched the waste line he was paid to tie into. Second he hacked a hole in the wall of the second floor apartment, cutting through and eliminating the structural integrity of a 2 X 4 and cobbling together a repair to reconnect a breather pipe. Then in changing out a radiator he got in over his head and spent a whole day running around buying parts and installing breather valves which were not necessary. Finally, in installing the rough plumbing for a wall mounted sink, he forgot to take into consideration center lines and length of distance between supply/waste lines and faucet/drain hookups. By the time we became aware of this issue, drywall was installed and it was simply too costly to go back and correct his mistakes.
After complaining loudly to Mr. Cellino, he sent out a qualified plumber who corrected all of John C's work in a neat, timely, and competent manner. So we're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to writing this review.
The plumber who is assigned to do your work is by luck of the draw. If John C shows up at your house to do anything other than minor work, I would send him packing. But Cellino Plumbing does have extremely competent employees and as I stated at the beginning of this review Tony Cellino is an honorable man. Even with the hours of extra work involved in rectifying all of John C's terrible work, the price never changed and all issues were resolved.

I had a drainage problem with our main line Nick P. From Cellino Plumbing did a great job of diagnosing our problem, fixing the blockage and checking his work. He was courteous, professional and I wouldn't hesitate to call Cellino again.
We needed our bathtub drain replaced as the corroded drain pipe began to leak down into the basement. I gave Cellino Plumbing a try as I go by their place all the time. They sent a plumber the next morning and he was fast and professional. The job was done very well, very quickly. He replaced the tub drain, two short sections of drain pipe to the tub, the elbow, and the fittings needed to connect it all to the main drain. All in all it's about three feet of two-inch copper drain pipe and a plastic elbow we're talking about. He arrived at 9 and was gone by 11. The bill came to $768, about twice what I expected. That works out to about $300/hour plus materials. No wonder they only charge $30 for a house call. They do it by the book but that book sure is expensive!

Technician came out, on time, as expected. They gave me an estimate that was fair for the work involved (hot water tank replacement). I decided to go with them, to replace the hot water tank. The price can be a little bit higher than you would expect; but do you really want discount work being done on something as vital as a furnace or tank?
I am willing to pay, what may some perceive as a higher price. With that being said; that peace of mind, knowing the job will be done correctly and with the latest and greatest equipment with the best technicians, let's me sleep better at night.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
I know an elderly lady that needs a faucet replaced in a bathroom. They quote 80 for the faucet. The total job cost was 500. Unbelievable. I bought the same faucet for 50 and installed it in 20 minutes. This is a totally dishonest company. The owner should be ashamed of himself.

He came out and spent about an hour with us reviewing a project to install a bathroom in our home. He told us in a week or two he would send a quote. We never heard back from him. I found it very rude. At least let us know he didn't want to job. Why waste so much of our time to not even get back to us?
Scott is experienced, courteous, personable and very helpful. He worked on our home last year and was very helpful then. He's back this year to help us with another situation. He's great!
Originally Cellino Plumbing couldn't get a snake down the one clean out from my stack from my basement but told me I need my whole sewer main replaced based on the front clean out camera inspection. I started to do some research to get pricing on pipe bursting based on their estimate. We needed a trenchless option. I found a really helpful community blog where residents from my town recommend companies for any kind of work to meet or exceed the town code and code that is going to be updated. Based on that, I called two of the recommended companies that don't have a ton of overhead. They basically do everything that Cellino Plumbing does by word of mouth. They had no issues getting their cameras down either clean out. Super long story shortened. Based on the info I received. Cellino Plumbing isn't even licensed to do work in some of the surrounding suburbs of Buffalo including my town. This is very easy to check by calling the town where you live. Your town probably can't recommend a plumber to you but can tell you which plumbing companies are licensed to work in your area.
Per my prior review, Cellino Plumbing initially flooded my basement but did come back to clean under my hot water tank where the sewer water mostly went. They also failed a second time to put a camera in my basement clean out. I edited my second review to 2 stars because Cellino quoted me a pipe bursting sewer main replacement job. They even gave me money off (an amount which I thought was a huge discount at the time) because of the basement flood they caused. Cellino Plumbing's quote was thousands of dollars MORE than the company we actually used! MANY thousands of dollars more. We also had one other plumber give us similar quotes to the company we actually used that. I wish I could post the two quotes on here. Please do your homework on major work like this. The company we ended up using explained everything with diagrams of our sewer structure, etc... They were able to get a camera down the whole sewer main to inspect everything. They completed the job in less than one day. They even told us that our sewer main was in pretty good shape except for one section that was starting to collapse. They were just going to do a pipe patch. I opted for the pipe burst the whole main once I compared the quote Cellino Plumbing gave me. The workers started at 7:30 and were completed by 2:00 PM including town inspection. Services were back up.

Very professional. Gave me the price to install a hot water heater up front. Even though there were some surprises in getting the old and new one out, and connecting left vs. right, it cost no more than quoted. The surprises were related to our house. Also completely cleaned up and answered all our questions. Would recommend them.
My sister-in-law ended up hiring Cellino to repair her ruptured sewer line. They finished the job in a timely manner but neglected to tell her they hit a gas line while digging up her yard. 2 months after the installation, they were experiencing strong gas odor and after further investigation, it was determined to be coming from the sewer lines!!! My niece, nephew and sister had to evacuate. I could only imagine what would of happened if they didn't catch this sooner. This company is neglectful and sloppy.
I had service with cellino today, and I am happy and very satisfied with the service, Paul is very professional! I think I will recommend to everyone I know! Good job Paul!

I had a plugged laundry tub that needed cleaned out from accumulation of lint and other things in the drain in the basement. I called from work to see if someone would be able to come out that evening after work. It was a $30 charge to come out which would be applied to the bill. Frank came out and did a great job unplugging the drain and cleaned up the entire mess in the laundry tub. It took almost 2 hours but they give you the price in advance and regardless how long it takes you pay one price. There are coupons online but they had expired so I didnt print them out. The price total was abouty 265 which is high to me but I don't know the going price for plumbers. It was a relief to have someone reputable who knew what they were doing and explained everything and cleaned up their mess. He even gave me an estimate on some other plumbing problems I might need fixing in the future. I would definitely call them again.

I had repair that needed a seat that cost a few dollars....my quote, $438.00!!!!
I am guessing it was because my elderly mother in law was there and they thought they could take advantage of her
I went there today and fixed it in10 MINUTES for a few dollars!!!
I am calling the BBB on these crooks!
Lightning fast response time, very professional and polite staff. They would not enter the house with out protective booties. They took the time to explain every step and multiple options with the cost involved. More than fair pricing. Very impressed will definitely use in the future.

Not happy with the service cellino plumbing did so far but I will change my review if they can fix my issue.
Back in August 2022 I called cellino plumbing to come check out my sump pit and bubbler system. I was getting large amounts of sand into the pit and ejecting out to the street thru the bubble system making a mess. They came out and looked at it and said it's a bad/faulty bubbler system probably with a broken pipe. I then hired them to replace the 80ft of pvc line to the street thinking this would fix it. I was charged a little over $4,200 for the repair.
About an month later I noticed sand again in the sump pit and going out to the street. I called cellino plumbing and was told that's not from the bubbler system and it's an unrelated issue! They came out snaked the line with a camera and they refuse to go any further to figure out the problem. I had 2 other bigger plumbing companies come out and give me an second opinion and they both had the same answer, cellino should have started digging around the base of the sump pit in the basement and the issue is not with the bubbler system.
So bottom line I payed all that money to have an bubbler system swapped out that didn't need to be touched and I'm out 4200 dollars.
I called recently to ask for an refund and again keep getting pushed aside. I will be looking to other ways to get my money back because this is unfair. I would never suspect a huge company like this to rip off an customer so people be aware this stuff happens. I will update this post if I hear back from cellino plumbing tho. I have no problem giving them a fair review if they do what is right.

We own a very old multi family and have called Cellino Plumbing for very large and small problems. We typically get John and he's really great. Today we called them on a Friday morning when buffalo got blast with snow and the entire city was delayed a few hours. We had asked them to come after 2 ok when one of us got out of work. John was there by 4, called a half hour before arriving (standard for any one at Cellino Plumbing) and was gone by 7 pm. They always have written estimates before they start any work and always clearly state any possible charges.
You call a company like Cellino Plumbing for the company that stands behind the name and expect to pay a little extra. They've always been more than fair with pricing and usually come same day! John even stops and plays with our dogs so they feel okay with him at the house!

I never used their services and never will. I called and requested a furnace estimate. I was told they would call me in a week to let me know when a was salesperson available. I got a call the next Friday at 4;00 p.m. to tell me that a salesman was on his way. What?? Funny how the other two furnace companies I called for estimates gave me an exact time and day they would be there and showed up.

I continue to have great experiences with this plumbing company. They have stellar technicians, especially Adam and Ryan. Personable, conscientious, well informed and skilled. A tech came out on short notice on a Saturday to fix a gas leak. There was an extra fee, but it was well worth it. Pricing for the job was fair. Great company.

I have owned our home in West Seneca for 8 years now and each time we have plumbing issues we call on Cellino as we know the excellent work they do in addition to their great word of mouth reputation.
In July, 2013 our year old Kenmore water heater broke beyond repair after having the same model in the house for 17 years. As we didn't care to put another Kenmore back in to avoid this issue, we decided to purchase a new Tankless Water Heater.
Cellino immediately came to mind and we had Darren, our technician out the next day with the unit. We were told before he arrived that this would be a rather labor intensive job as they had to drill into the brick basement wall to mount it properly as well as running an exhaust vent at the same location.
Darren arrived at the exact time we were told in a very good positive mood that immediately put us at ease. I am a dedicated DIYer and am usually very apprehensive about having ANY outside company doing work to our cherished home. Darren explained the installation process and kept me aware of what he was doing at every move. The installation took about 6 - 7 hours and ended up looking like a very professional job. He cleaned up after himself and explained everything I needed to know about the new system.
A few days later a leak developed under the heater that is installed on the wall. It only occurred when we used the hot water so figured there must be something that was not attached properly. That day I called and explained my problem and they scheduled Darren to come out the next day to repair the leak.
Again he arrived on time with a silicone to properly seal the leaks...or so we thought. A few days later the leak showed up again in the same place. Again I called and this time Tony (?) the owner of Cellino arrived to replace the filter at the bottom of the unit that drains condensation out and into the floor drain. He, like Darren was extremely professional even taking their shoes off at the front door.
I kept watch on the old leak and unfortunately it once again started to leak when the hot water was used.
I again called Cellino and told them the issue was still present and water was leaking more now. The next day they sent out a person they referred to as their Master Plumber. He thoroughly inspected the unit then checked the water pressure that led into the house.
Come to find out, the water pressure was over 120 psi when it should have been in the 50- 70 range! He told me that we needed to have a pressure relief tank installed and went back to the office to speak with the owner, Within two hours I received a call from the owner telling me that they were going to accept all responsibility for the repairs and the tank that should have been installed during the installation of the Tankless Water Heater itself. He said because of all the visits and them failing to diagnose the problem they would send Darren back out to install the part that would finally stop this leak that was now driving me crazy! I did not have to raise my voice or get mad as he was very good at defusing the frustration I was feeling.
He then made an appointment for Darren the following day for him to install the pressure tank and just like all other times Darren arrived with the part and apologized profusely for having to call and take time out of my day waiting for them to arrive.
He and the rest of the staff that came to my house remained calm and extremely professional throughout the entire process. They were very thorough in explaining the system and how it works and because of the numerous visits, they ended up not charging for the part they had to install. Before he left Darren gave me a copy of the invoice for this part and the labor involved. I was shocked that the price of this final repair and part was nearly $900. and they assumed all of that cost themselves for the inconvenience! Never before have I had a company go to the lengths Cellino did to correct this issue and to assume to cost was a very pleasant surprise. It showed me that out of all plumbing companies...make that out of all repair companies in Buffalo, Cellino will do whatever it takes to make things right.
We all make mistakes and have issues with things at times, but when a company goes to this extreme to make everything right you know they are a great company! I have nothing but positive things to say about Cellino and want to extend my sincere Thanks for all of their time, energy and work to correct the issues we faced with our new Tankless Water Heater.
I highly recommend Cellino Plumbing company for their outstanding work, their professional demeanor and cleanliness and most importantly their dedication to making sure the work they performed was what needed to be done. Although we had issues with the Tankless Unit, they went the full length to make sure we were happy with the end product. In addition, their picking up the tab for the pressure tank was a very nice and honest thing for them to do.
Filthy SCAMMERS!!! DO NOT USE THESE thief's!! Took a relative of mine for over 7k! To top it off, never fully completed the job; including leaving her front yard all dig up.
Scott came and gave a free water test.He was polite professional and courteous. He really has a passion for what he does.He and Chris came and installed a water softener system and though pricewise was a little on the high side I was confident in the expertise experiance and quality of the system installed and Cellino water in doing the work.Had an issue with water pressure in cold water after the install and they were helpful and attentive to helping to solve the issue.Scott did not hesitate to come look at it after the problem hadnt cleared up and within a half hour it was fixed.Overall great job and highly recommend these guys.

Had a horrible plumbing incident happen and they where able to get someone out right away! The customer service was extremely organized and friendly. They give you an estimated time period which he was there right away. Our plumber - Nick was very knowledgeable and time efficient. Affordable prices and I like how they have a 30 day warranty. I'm glad I chose this company!

On 6/29 My boyfriend has booked an appointment today 7/1 for a plumber to come out to the duplex we are trying to purchase to see why there is plumbing issues and to have the issue resolved. Now we aren't living in the home so we've had to go back and forth w/ the relator and the tenants living in the home. This company refused to give us anything less than a 12pm-4pm time slot for an appointment, inconvenient since we don't live there but workable.
Today, we have been waiting around for 3 hours (12pm-3pm) for the appointment, waiting to drive over to the property. At 3pm we receive a call that they are too booked up for the weekend and will not be honoring the appointment and it would be canceled for the day....
With the stress of buying our first home and trying to figure out all we need to do this is the last thing that we needed. What poor customer service, I will never recommend this company or return to them.

During this week's cold snap, the hot water line froze on one side of my two family town home. On Tuesday, our HOA management sent out two different plumbers from separate companies. Both said they couldn't fix the problem, their equipment wouldn't reach to our 2nd and 3rd floors and we needed to wait until the weather warmed up and they thawed out on their own!
On Wednesday, Frank came from Cellino. He was very courteous and clean - put on booties before entering our home - unlike Plumbers #1 and #2. He had the proper equipment and long enough lines to thaw our pipes. After he laid out the equipment and protected out hardwood floors, the actual process took about 10 minutes. He stayed to make sure we didn't have any cracked or broken pipes.
I will always insist on Cellino for any future repairs. This was the second time in 4 years that they have had to thaw pipes in our 100+ year old home.
They are the best!
Thanks to Frank and the whole staff at Cellino Plumbing!

Great service, friendly staff all around, arrived at the end of the scheduled time, which was fine. Would have rated them higher but the cost was outrageous. The other thing that kind of irritated me was that I told them exactly what needed to be done and if they could give me a rough cost idea. They said no had to pay the $30 service fee which then does get applied to the job(good thing), but when they showed up he had a quote book that listed all the different types of jobs and how much they were. And guess what exactly what I asked them to do was on it.I did pick them because the service call was lees than most and at least it got applied. Nice people, nice fancy uniforms, nice fancy truck, but guess who's paying for it.
So for part two if our plumbing fix, I had the pleasure of working with Jeff and Cellino plumbing. Again, at my home right when he said he would be there and right on target with the cost. I knew exactly what I was getting into because with his last visit he told us and keep to exactly what he had said...no surprise new costs or fees! I've felt with many local plumbers with our old home and have to say this is by far the most clear, honest, respectful, and friendly. Doesn't hurt they they do a great job as well! Also, if you check in on Yelp you'll save $35. I'll take any savings I can get, especially when I comes to things I'm not particularly thrilled to spend money on;) it's so tough to know where/who to use for things like this and I'm certainly happy we found them and are able to support their efforts here on Yelp.
After less than stellar service from our past plumber, we got tired of waiting to have our tankless hot water fixed or repaired. I called Cellino and their very efficient and friendly dispatcher was able to fit us in the very next day. Not only do they give you an estimate of when the technician will be there--once he is en route, they texted a photo of him, his name and a little background blurb with a more precise ETA. The technician was very thorough and explained our options and the related costs clearly. He was able to replace our water heater in a few hours, swipe my credit card on his tablet and email me a receipt immediately.
A thank you from Cellino arrived in both my inbox and in my text messages. About 10 days later, I arrived home to find a Cellino coffee cup filled with 5 chocolate chip cookies on my porch with a thank you note and coupons for discounts off future work. These guys have got customer service down to a fault. I also commend them for being extremely active and generous in the community by supporting numerous non-profit organizations, especially dog-related causes!

Payton from Cellino Plumbing couldn't have been more professional. We had three driveway drains plugged with water filling the driveways. Payton arrived soon after our call during a tremendous rainstorm where many communities were flooded. He worked for three hours in the rain and got all cleared out. We were extremely satisfied with this company.
I found Cellino Plumbing to be honest and fair, with both their services and pricing. Adam [the plumber] did great work, and I found him to be trustworthy.
After another plumber that I had found on YELP, gouged me for $259 to clear a bathroom sink drain, and then TRIED to charge me $199 for new drain and J trap parts, PLUS another $259 to install them. [I found the pricing to reassemble the sink drain to be exorbitant, and politely told them to leave]. Thereby, having an unusable sink, and also not knowing if the drain that I just paid $259 to clear, was working!
I reached out via YELP to Cellino Plumbing and one other recommended plumber. Cellino could be at my home in two days, the other plumber would've taken a week to get here. I am happy I chose a Cellino Plumbing.
They replaced the J trap, plus drain for approximately $200, installed! Fair.
I was so happy with the price and quality of work, that I hired them to reinstall a toilet that my son and I thought we fixed six months ago. [It was like a rocking horse]!
Turns out the parts had to be replaced, and Cellino charged $200 to fix and stabilize. Well worth it.
I have used several plumbers over the years on my older home. Some did quality work, but were very expensive. Others, did poor work and were very expensive. So I tried Cellino Plumbing, and I am happy with what they did, and what they charged. [I don't think they should charge the $35 dispatch fee. if you hire them on the spot, to do the other work, however.]
I will need to replace my furnace and HVAC in the near future and I will get estimates, but will now call Cellino first.

Very good customer service. I called and they came back with an immediate appointment. The service technician who visited was very professional and explained what is required.
Cellino does not necessarily give you a free estimate. There is a $30 charge for the technician to come out, review and provide an estimate. However, if you mention Yelp! you get that review free.
I had a leaking drain from one of my shower. Their pricing was on the higher side for me to engage for the work. I found someone else for a better price point perspective and carried out the work. But I guess the premium price we pay is for the professionalism they show!

Cellino Plumbing is excellent and since I started using their services at my residence I have recommended them to anyone who has asked for plumbing referrals. They are prompt, friendly, the plumbers are all master plumbers, they explain all the work that they will do (I learned some interesting things that I did not know about my plumbing!), and their price is their price - there are no hidden charges. They have been able to do same-day calls, and they have several locations around W.N.Y. Also, I have had two different Cellino plumbers at my residence and both were so clean, wiping up after their work was done. I'm a very happy Cellino Plumbing customer.
Professional and on time. But, very very very high priced. 400.00 to replace a fill valve and hang a shower curtain rod. In and out in about an hour. Good work but prices are quite high.

I had 2 plumbing issues and called Cellino to set as appointment. They came the next day on time as planned. Jeff was extremely professional and diagnosed what he thought was the issue within minutes. After opening up the wall he was spot on. Removed a section of rusted pipe, sealed it back up with a very small portion of the wall removed. Other issue was resolved with parts he had on hand in the truck. Work was great and his quote was exactly what I was charged. I will use Jeff and Cellino again and recommend them to others.
Update:
Used them for a third time now....service was again excellent and I went to use the Yelp coupon and Yelp was down (yup, the Yelp's site wasn't working). They charged me full price without the coupon. I talked to them next day explained Yelp's failure and they cut me a check for the discount, that came in the mail the next day. How's that for customer service!

Had something wrong with the sump pump, called in the evening hours and they had someone making appointments, which was wonderful. I had a 8-12 appointment and Nick came at 9, he was quick, responsive, explained everything in great detail. He evaluated and tested the system and was able to determine we needed a new pump. I would not hesitate to call them or Nick again for any plumbing problem.
Basement floor drains were backing up. The furnace was in danger.
I am not sure I am happy with Cellino. After the first guy took over FIVE hours to just diagnosis the problem as tree roots blocking the pipes carrying the water out to the creek, (not uncommon) followed by John with his 15 yrs experience to confirm it in another hour all to the tune of over $650 without fixing anything. I will say both men were on time and courteous. John's experience was most notable. But after All that time and money they left with water still in the basement. Offering estimates on how to fix it.
Excellent service . My toilets were old & needed to be replaced. Chris was excellent and did a great job. I love my new toilets. They were not the cheapest but did a great job & Im very pleased .
We had problems with our plumbing at our store. The landlord called Cellino to fix the problem. The first day there wasn't much progress. The plumber did everything he could. He snaked the drain. He removed the toilet. Nothing. The following day the camera tech was supposed to come out, but got tied up in another service call. To my surprise the actual owner came out today with the camera. It took 20 minutes and it was fixed. He shared his family story with us, which was basically amazing. What a hard working family. Thank you so much...our bladders thank you!!!
I was looking for a reasonable and reliable plumber to replace a broken kitchen faucet. I had never heard or used Cellino plumbing before but figured I would give them a try. They would not give me a quote over the phone.
The said just the service call fee in order to come out and give me a quote was about $30.
- they are booking a over a week out so I waited for the first available time.
- then when they showed up they told me the faucet change was a really easy job and would only take about 20-30 minutes..... the TOTAL quote was ...... $357!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For twenty minutes of work, over $350
COMPLETE HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!
They make you wait for over a week to come out and then totally rip you off. Now I know why they have the crappy business practice of not giving quotes initially!
This was a totally unreasonable price but I was forced to pay and get the service done because after waiting over a week I could not wait any longer and had no other option.
Make sure if you use them, you get a quote before you waste your time!
The work was done new faucet in bathroom sink thank you but $625. Sorry, I think it was too high, were they taking advantage of a older disable person or just charge too much ?

I have used Cellino in the past for an emergency situation. On 4th of July weekend, we had a blocked main sewer line. I called Cellino Sunday morning and had a technician at our house by noon. Their service is fantastic; I would highly recommend this company.

When you don't understand a problem, it can be scary. When you do understand a problem - and the potentially astronomical cost of addressing that problem - it can be terrifying. That's how I felt when we realized that, for some unknown reason, EVERY drain in our house (toilet included) was draining into our sump pump.
Had it been plumbed wrong? Was there a broken line? Was the problem in the house under the floor? Outside somewhere on the way to the street? Would we have to dig up our yard? It takes little plumbing knowledge or research to know that these kinds of repairs can easily move into the 4 and 5 digits.
After looking at reviews I ended up calling Cellino Plumbing because I felt like the good reviews outweighed the negative ones. Plus they had a Yelp deal that was a little added incentive to talk with them.
We discovered the problem Friday night, called on Saturday, and they were able to get someone to our house on Sunday. I did have to call a second time on Sunday but it turned out we were scheduled and they just hadn't gotten a chance to call us back yet. No problem - we appreciated the rush service given the fact that we couldn't use our toilet until this was resolved.
John came out and was friendly and professional from the time he called to let us know he was on his way until he shook hands on his way out when everything was resolved. He was clearly experienced and knowledgable and I very much appreciated that he spoke to me like an equal who could understand what the issues and solutions were. You would be shocked how many contractors won't do that.
We were fortunate that the problem ended up being a simple enough fix but it would have been very easy for someone to take advantage of us. John was upfront about the pricing, and proposed a solution that was effective both in terms of cost and addressing the problem.
For those curious, our situation ended up being that the contractor who installed our sump pump as a condition of sale for the seller cut corners. They connected the sump pump to a floor drain connected to the sewer line, which they should have removed or, at a minimum, sealed. When the sewer line backed up, it overflowed into the sump pump.
John snaked the main sewer line with the proper size snake (explaining that you don't want to rent the 1/2 snakes from HD because they ball up inside the 5 pipes) and then ran a camera from inside the house and from the trap in the front lawn. We were able to see for ourselves exactly what issues we did and did not have. John then gave us some inexpensive and easy prevention steps we could take over the next few years to avoid the kind of costly repair we were afraid we might have to do this time.
Overall, I was hugely relieved on two counts. The first, was obviously that we didn't have a bigger plumbing problem, as we were afraid that we would have to dig up the yard in addition to the damage repair that we have to do in the basement as a result of this problem.
The second was that I lucked out on getting a plumber who was clearly trying to save us money and who was very knowledgable about identifying and solving our problem. We all know that this isn't always the case.
After having reviewed the other reviews and having had them fix a serious issue for us in less than 24 hours, I would definitely recommend Cellino plumbing and suggest that you ask for John. I know that's definitely what we will be doing in the future.
Sewage was backing up into my basement, a first for me after buying my first house last July. I called around 11pm and a technician came at 8am the following morning, which meant I didn't have to pay higher after-hours/emergency rate. The technician, Liam, took care of the clog, which was about 50 feet in, within an hour or so. He walked me through the whole process and took some extra time to help me get a sense of the set-up at the house which is about 130 years old, which I appreciated. Cost was $330 after taxes and the service call fee. I wasn't happy about losing $330 to a sewage clog but I did a little research and that seems to have been a fair price. Another technician will be providing a free camera examination of the sewer line. The sewage back-up was a terrible experience and I appreciated the fast response and excellent service.
This is one of worst plumbing company I have dealt with.
The fees are expensive and they don't fix anything on the first trip.
Do not recommend using.

Our boiler was overheating. $410 for a service call and a quick fix that will hopefully last us until it gets warmer for a better fix as it needs new parts.
$410 for a service call and a band aid fix on something that will just have to be worked on again anyways?!?!! That's BULL SHIT.
Those prices are an absolute crime!!!
I bought a duplex with a few drain pipe issues. They were able to send John C out to do an estimate, which ended up coming in about 800 cheaper. he was a total professional and when some unexpected curveballs were thrown into the mix, Tony Cellino himself gave me a call to talk things over; and smooth over the situation. I would definitely use these guys again.
I've had an issue in my basement. I thought it was the mainline sewer backing up. Called a couple of places and the only one that could accommodate me was Cellino. I had tried to work with them in the past however the schedules just did not mesh.
I'm going to make a long epic tale short. My plumber was the real deal. Nick. Got here on time. Told me my issue was not with my main sewer drain but with my utility sink. Snaked all. Everything is working as it should be. The price he offered up was far less than I have SEEN IN AGES. I was so happy with his work that I had him switch out an older toilet to a newer comfort height with less water usage. All done in the span of a few hours. What can I say? EXCELLENT service and attention.
My. neighbor came over last night and told me I had a HUGE sewer bacikup in my backyard and to be prepared to spend about $8K to redo the whole system! I was in shock. Today I called Cellino and I was thrilled. From my first contact with Carly in the office to the techs, Jake and Dan, that came to the house; the whole experience was a pleasure. Jake and Dan were so friendly from the moment they stepped out of the truck until the time they packed up and left. They helped me out with the minor issue I had (clogged trap) and helped me out with some tips and possible improvements to consider for the future. After a lengthy discussion on how to avoid this problem in the future, Jake explained a bubbler system to me. I will definitely be calling them next spring to discuss installing this system and I will insist on Jake and Dan. Who knew a backed up sewer could turn into a somewhat pleasurable experience. Thanks to everyone who helped me out today!!
