Reviews
We bought an older home and soon found out we needed to replace our sewage system. Called all plumbers in the Rock Hill phone book, but only 3 returned my call. Two came out and gave estimates and one gave an estimate over the phone. Thomas with 1st Choice gave me the best estimate and my neighbor gave 1st Choice a good recommendation. My yard has old established azaleas and Thomas worked hard to place my new system around existing plants and trees.
Thomas' coordination with the city was outstanding, plus he seemed to have a great working relationship with the city employees. Thomas was able to get the city to agree with him as to where the sewerage tie-in needed to be so as little damage as possible would be done to my landscaping. My neighbor, an engineer by trade, said he watched the men from 1st Choice work and he commented that they did an outstanding job. No payment was due until all work was completed including reseeding my yard. I
highly recommended Thomas and 1st Choice.
First time calling 1st Choice Plumbing. Got an appointment immediately and was given a timeline that worked for me. Scott was on time. Thank you 1st Choice for meeting our plumbing needs
First off let me say that this place is TOP NOTCH! Everyone from the young lady that answered the phone to the guys that came out and fixed our leak was absolute GREAT! Scott Childers did a GREAT job! I recommend this place to any and everyone looking for any type of plumbing work. They were fair, and the pricing was good.
Two calls to this plumber via our home warranty company and we still had zero hot water for 2 weeks!
We ended up hiring another local plumber who was fast, professional and knowledgeable. He fixed the issue and we had hot water that day.

Great plumber if you can get him to your house. We used him for a couple small warranty repairs with no issues. When I tried to get him to come complete a job and write an estimate for a large job he would not show up. We had 3 appointments that he no showed for and when he finally came, he never provided me the written estimate.
Save your patience and call someone else. It doesn't matter how good a plumber is if they miss appointments without calling. I was very disappointed in this company.
If I could give no stars, I would. Very unprofessional ! I guess they don't want to keep customers. Called a few times to get someone out for a leak, woman on phone says someone will have to call me back. 24 hours later no call, when you call back they tell you no one can come out, she knew that 24 hours ago, why not say that before or why not use the telephone number you asked for to update your customer.

Thomas, his crew, and their workmanship are excellent. He addressed our issues with our well pump and didn't quote me a bunch of mess that was unnecessary or try to push a big sell on me. He made sure I got what I needed and nothing more. Respectful of my property and our home and even made sure his staff didn't smoke, which is a huge thing since I've had contractors come out and smoke the entire time their own the job. I'm bummed about the bad experiences others have had because they are the antithesis of the times I've used 1st Choice.
Thomas Carter is super knowledgable, fair and went the extra mile to assist us. He and his friendly crew re-piped our ranch home which was full of bad PEX pipe. He took the time to explain the process and was very detailed. His rates are reasonable, his customer service is fantastic and I would highly recommend him. Good guy and great master plumber!!!!

People be aware of this company. Your lack of professionalism is mind blowing. I can and I will comment about a friends experience. I needed plumbing work done and I researched plumbing companies and came across your company. I read your reviews and knowing someone who had experience with 1st Choice Plumbing, made my decision that much easier. I could have been a potential customer, but my money goes to a business who values their customers. My comment is absolutely relevant, Jonna and I look out for people who need plumbing services. I have been out to the house to see the water heater and checked it out myself. A leaking water heater with no hot water is in perfect working condition? You don't have to be a plumber to see it's not properly working. You wrote up a false report that the water heater was in proper working order and admitted to her that you never checked to ensure the water ran hot or anything. When you provide bad service and then lie about it, it reflects poorly on you and your small business. Put yourself in the customers shoes and I'm absolutely positive you would be angry yourself. It does not matter if you came out for her or the previous owner. You checked the water heater and said it was properly working when it's not. You provided the service and there is documentation your company was the one who looked at it. Again, I have told many homeowner friends not to use you for their plumbing needs. People be aware of 1st Choice Plumbing. They are a scam. Read their reviews on Yelp. Be careful who you have come out to your house.
As for your comment back and still believing you're not wrong, this shows your character and what kind of business you run. This situation does involve me even though you stated it does not. Staying with her and having to take cold showers is not something I call enjoyable. Seeing her being stressed out over something you should have noticed does involve me. Not even offering to inspect the water heater for the second time shows that you knew you didn't do the job properly. People save your money and pay someone who takes pride in what they do and doesn't take advantage of you. Clearly when a free service is offered, corners are cut because they are not being paid. A reliable business doesn't say a water heater is in proper working condition without even checking to see if it's working properly. People, spend the extra time in finding a dependable and reliable plumbing company who actually knows what they're talking about.
Chris is phenomenal! He is on time, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He works precisely and is fast. He even vacuumed up the mess.

Can I give this company a -1 star for professionalism?
I call on a Thurs morning to ask for an appointment. The owner answers his phone - I can barely hear him; he's driving down the road. He says he can come, but not today. That's fine, I say. It's not urgent, but I do need a plumber at my home to look at my water filter system. He passes the phone to one of his workers who takes my name, address, number and gives me an 8-10 appointment for Friday morning.
At 11:15 on Friday, after nobody showed up & nobody called, I call them back. It went like this:
Him: 1st Choice Plumbing, this is Thomas.
Me: Hi, My name is Kendra S, I had an 8-10 appointment for this morning, and nobody showed up or called, so I'd like to cancel.
Him: Oh. Sorry about that. Thank you. [he hangs up.]
Really?! Are you KIDDING ME!??
1st Choice Plumbing, you've officially become my LAST CHOICE.
I called this company over a week ago, because my main line was backing up. I spoke to a woman that said that they were booked up for that day, but she could have someone come out the next day between 4pm and 6pm. She told me she would call me back, but no one ever called back or showed up. I ended up just calling roto-rooter the next day, and they came out within 30 minutes.
I woke up on a Saturday morning to the sound of water running under my house. I called 1st Choice Plumbing and they came right out to get the problem stopped. I was thrilled with the service and the price was fair considering it was a weekend.
1st Choice was recommended by my neighbor who just had her hot water tank replaced with a tankless. I had a total of 4 companies price removing my hot water tank from the attic and installing a tankless. Thomas was friendly. He explained the job, offered options, made suggestions, and came in $3000 less than 2 of my other quotes. 1st Choice was the only company that looked at our crawl space and said the tankless could be installed there. The gentlemen that did the work were friendly and considerate; and answered my last minute questions. One month after its install the hot water didn't work. 1st Choice sent out a service person within 2 hours. Turns out the breaker on the electrical outlet under my house had been triggered. The serviceman pushed the button on the outlet and it has worked ever since. No charge for the call. 1st Choice replaced the kitchen faucet. My husband could have easily done it, but he's working a lot of hours and who knows when it would have been done. Once again the serviceman was kind and courteous. At one point in our brief conversation he mentioned that he likes what he does. How nice is that.....to hear from someone doing work at your home that they enjoy what they do? We should all be so lucky. The faucet looks good and works. The serviceman answered the couple questions I had and put the sticker that came with the faucet (that I bought) on the inside of the cupboard door. That way if I ever have a problem or need to replace a part, Moen's phone number and all the numbers I need are right there. I am very happy with their work, I will not hesitate to call them with any future needs or recommend them.
