My pilot went out on my hot water heater. Marcus Kelly came out and figured out what it was in about 15 minutes. It was one of those new technologies that companies come up with that is under engineered. The part is a safety switch that shuts everything down if it thinks something is radically wrong! But the part is poorly engineered. Nothing was wrong with my hot water heater, except for that darn part! Lol. So he ordered a new part and had it in within a few days. (Our kids are gone so there were no riots in our house!} It was an LG model #6G40-36F1. Don't buy one. The stupid idiots who designed it also made it so that you cannot easily access the burner area. They have it all sealed behind glass, so replacing parts in the burner area is a big deal. And they have some kind of stupid static electric charge button that lights the pilot, and this doesn't work worth crap either! And you can only push the static button down so many times then you have to wait 20 minutes!! Its the stupidest most contrary ignorant hot water heater I have ever seen in my life time! Lol. But back to Marcus, he was very sharp and thorough, and tested everything to make sure there were no safety or gas issues. He was polite sharp arrived on time and didn't try to sell me a new hot water heater. Though I may be junking this one soon!

I contacted 3 plumbers about flushing my hot water heater. 2 came back with bids, Metro asked how old was the unit, 2.5 years I said. He said unless you flushed the heater yearly it would do me no good. He also said he personally never flushes his heater because the 3/8th inch drain won't get all the sediment out anyway. I thought he was very honest with me and I'll definitely look him up for the future

Leaks were repaired by my technician Bryan. No issues after the repair. The cost was more than I expected, but glad it's been repaired.
I got a Groupon for the service, and promptly made an appointment for my furnace to be serviced for the year.
Soua showed up early, ummm... who's ever heard of that? He was professional, and checked everything. Found that my Limit Switch was bad, and I need to change that. I thought my thermostat was broken, turns out it's a 20$ part! He showed me what he did, and what did/didn't need to be fixed.
Thanks Metro Heat & Cooling! Another year I'll have lots of warmth in my home!

We've used Metro Heating & Cooling for furnace and AC service for years - they've done annual maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs. Both Tim D and Mike have been our tech/service people and they are great! On time, trustworthy & fair pricing.
My dehumidifier had been running non stop for a month and water was everywhere all over my basement due to our furnace leaking. Metro sent a wonderful technician out fast and he unclogged our drain hose for us. Within 24 hrs, my dehumidifier has stopped running and the basement is dry again!!
Thank you Metro Heating/Cooling. You saved my basement floors, walls and my electricity bill!!
Plus they changed my furnace filter so I didn't have to. I will use them again!
Will not honor warranty when something goes wrong. I have called company several times about my furnace they installed and they will not return calls

Metro Heating and Cooling installed my new residential central air conditioning unit. I had selected the five companies with the highest ratings on the Internet to submit bids (of which they were one). I then entered all of the relevant data into an Excel spreadsheet. Metro Heating & Cooling was the winner! The combination of equipment (Bryant), customer service ratings, warranty and price made it a no-brainer. The installation guys did an excellent job and were very professional and courteous.
However, the unit was cycling on and off, so I called Metro. They sent out Brian, the troubleshooting tech. He is a remarkably knowledgable and competent tech. Brian spent quite a bit of time troubleshooting my NEST thermostats and talked directly to the NEST tech person on my behalf. Ultimately, it was determined that the thermostats needed a fifth wire hooked up to ensure sufficient voltage. Brian proceeded to perform this task on both thermostats and everything is now running great. The entire experience was a pleasure and I feel like I really got what I paid for.
Special thanks to Brian for his patience, great customer service attitude and technical abilities. He went out of his way to make sure my system was working good and that I was totally satisfied. When I asked why the installers didn't make sure it was not cycling, Brian explained that the installers specialize in installations, while techs like himself specialize in working out any issues that may pop up. This explanation makes sense to me and so I offer my recommendation to everyone that Metro Heating and Cooling will take good care of you.
My furnace had been making an awful rattling noise which I was worried was the furnace itself. I finally gave up and called someone to help. They were easy to schedule and got to me much quicker than I expected! He was able to stop any extra noises in the furnace and gave me some advice on the air filtration system which will save me a lot of money while he was there. Very nice and polite. I would definitely call them again if I have a problem.
Have had Metro Heating & Cooling service my current home and past home, as well as my clients homes for years. Couldn't be happier with their service. Rainy is the technician I've had the past 3 times I've called service and he's incredibly professional and explains everything thoroughly.
Our 7 year-old modulating condensing boiler quit working during a period of frigid temperatures. We called 3 firms claiming expertise with the newer mod/con boilers like ours. Each dispatched a serviceman lacking the competency to diagnose and remediate whatever was wrong. Thankfully a couple of them refunded what they charged for a service call.
Metro Heating and Cooling is near our home and I stopped in to see if they could help. They dispatched Tim, their diagnostic tech, the next day. Tim spent over an hour methodically diagnosing what could be wrong and ultimately discovered the heat exchanger was bad and demonstrated how he knew that.
We decided to install a new conventional boiler and water heater. We solicited and evaluated bids from Metro, McQuillan Bros, and CenterPoint. CenterPoint could provide no firm installation date. McQuillan did a heat loss analysis to determine appropriate boiler sizing. Nice! We selected Metro for their price-point, products they proposed, and project approach.
Our experience with Metro was superb! The 4 techs that worked in our home were very competent, organized, neat, thorough, and keenly attentive to my expectations for replacing and adding isolation valves, gauge positioning, and explanation for how our cast iron baseboard radiation worked.
Unbeknownst to me, Michael went the extra mile and tested the bleeder valve in each radiator to ensure it was functioning properly. I was delighted when he mentioned replacing a couple that had vexed me for years! Bravo Michael! Woo hoo!
Metro Heating and Cooling did a great job for us and exceeded our expectations at every turn. Work was completed in one day by a top-notch, competent, highly-skilled boiler team. We plan on working with Metro for an air conditioning solution next Summer. Thanks Metro!
Brian was the service guy and fixed my water heater. Turns out the issue was a dirty gas line to the heater that he cleaned out, I never would've figured that out! That night my furnace stopped working. They came right out next morning and it was coincidentally a dirty flame sensor that he cleaned for no charge. I will definitely use them again for maintenance or repairs.
We needed a new furnace and decided to go with Metro. It took a week for us to actually have the furnace installed, and during that time our home maintained a chilly 59 degree temp. The installation went well and they were respectful of our home and cleaned up when they were finished. They did discover on the day of installation that our air-conditioner coil was damaged, so that ended up costing us an additional $800, which would have been nice to know up-front, but I guess that's not possible until the furnace is taken apart. A week after installation, our furnace quit working. They came right away and discovered that the ignitor switch was bad. It took 1 day for them to order the part and get it installed. They gave us space heaters to use in the mean time. It was disappointing to have a problem so soon after getting the new furnace, and we hope this doesn't mean we have future problems to look forward to.
We had moved into our new home. We decided to have the bibs on the outside spickets replaced, they were old one of them was very rusted and wouldn't turn. So my husband called metro and set up an appt. They were here on time and the tech who did the work was very nice. He had noticed that the main water shut off was in a bad location so he wanted to move it. We agreed. Whilst doing that he ended up damaging the water softener. He was unable to fix that day so another tech came a few days later. Noticed it was unable to be fixed and the entire softener had to be replaced. They did offer a discount for one of theirs and free install. After a couple months we had the softener installed and it is working great. The softener is a bit bigger than I expected but over all nice.

This company charges $129 just to obtain an estimate to clean an evaporator coil. That is a ridiculously high fee to receive any sort of estimate to begin with, but even more ridiculous when the customer knows exactly what he needs. This company obviously does not want you to obtain estimates from other companies when they charge such a high fee themselves.

A/C removal and installation. They were competitive, service tech was on time, informative, and finished according to estimate.
I needed a whole house water filter that was attached to my water softener replaced. I was hoping it was a small (especially in price) job. It turned out to cost me about 2.5 times what I was hoping, but the plumber who came did a very nice job. The new filter will allow me to maintain it myself without having to turn off the water to the house, which I appreciate. The plumber who came, Mitch, was very nice and professional. He did a great job in about 50 minutes and he estimated an hour. Mitch had to cut out and replace old piping that was connecting the water filter so it was definitely a job I couldn't have done myself. Another plumbing company quoted me 2 to 3 hours which seemed outrageous so I felt fairly treated by Mitch and Metro. Thank you.

I have used their services for the past few months and they have been soo great! It is reasonable in price and great work and very friendly.
One of the things I want is responsiveness and they are definitely fast to get back to you and I appreciate that.
I recommend them hands down!
We used metro for plumbing work -replacing a water softener and some repiping. Jesse our plumber was super helpful, patient and did a great job! He explained all the tips and tricks maintaining our new water softener. He was on time, and wore a mask and shoe cover at all times. It is tricky also bcus we are both working from home, he was respectful of that and just took care of things with minimal interruption to our work day. I enjoyed working with Nick, who is a very good communicator, patient and responsive. And very appreciative of the new tricks Jesse taught us about basic maintenance!

Our contractor John not only did what we needed him to do, but he did extra. We had issues with our water heater, and our thermostat. He was able to take care of my water heater and even show me steps on how to make my water warm. He helped me clean my furnace from debris and replaced my thermostat with one that worked. Now I have warm water and a warm house. A++ work and highly recommend them if you need any help with your water or air condition.

I have had a couple of service calls on my aging furnace, had a new smart thermostat installed and a water heater replaced by Metro Heating and Cooling. The service has been great and as far as I could tell by shopping around their pricing is also great!
One thing that really stood out was their honesty. They pointed out that my furnace is nearing the end of its life, but they did not push to sell me a new furnace. They recommended repair but cautioned that a new furnace will be needed within the next few years. From past experiences other companies would have jumped at the opportunity to convince me that I needed a new furnace now. When the time comes I will definitely be calling Metro to replace my furnace.

The professionalism and knowledge of Metro Heating and Cooling's company is outstanding. Having someone who knows exactly what they're talking about puts your mind at ease.. Our tech, John, was great. He was easy to talk to, explained things in detail and made us feel comfortable in what was going on. We will recommend this company to anyone in need of HVAC services in the future.
True professionals, the sales crew doesn't try and sell you what you don't need! Used them three times and won't go anywhere else!
So, my kitchen faucet decided to go berserk and I seemed to exacerbate the problem trying to fix it.
Well, I searched and got a quote from a few companies. I'd booked with a different company, who texted at the last minute that they weren't going to be there on time. Not getting a new time, I reached out again to those who had responded.
Metro had originally stated that they could come out on Friday. I didn't want to wait that long, so I got on their list to see if they'd make it out on Thursday. I was contacted a short time later that someone would be out between noon and 4.
Relieved, I got back to work. It was close to 3 when the nice young man arrived. I let him in and ge went right to work. Less than 30 minutes later, he'd cleaned out and tightened everything that caused the issue. The cost was $120.
This was a quick,inexpensive repair with very friendly service. I've already given their name to a friend who's having plumbing issues at his home.

Make sure you are completely aware of the issues you are having. Had them look at my water heater cause the pilot light kept going out. They Told me it was a bad gas valve.... Pilot light was not staying lit, its probably the thermocouple. They wanted to replace my water heater and charge me over $1000 when all we needed was a $13 thermocouple. Matt Loe obviously didn't do his job, and tried to gouge our eyes out with a ridiculous estimate for a new water heater. Didn't need a new water heater, just needed a new part. Be aware, these guys WILL Try to pull one over on you. Get a second opinion
Stacey Was on time and took his shoes off when coming in the house he assess the situation of a drippy faucet and a hissing toilet came up with a proposal in about 10-15 minutes and then once I agreed to it he had it fixed in a little over an hour he was courteous knowledgeable and time efficient I would highly recommend Stacey in Metro heating and cooling!

Probably anyone who replaces a water heater in the middle of a cold snap is showered in accolades, but I have 2 coworkers whose water heaters broke the same week and neither of them had their problems fixed as quickly as I did. Metro Heating & Cooling were fast, efficient, great communicators, and they did good work. Also, the guy who came out told us where the mysterious dripping water was coming from - an old chimney with a condensation drain that didn't have a pipe on it - and fixed it for us! Sure it's $2 worth of plastic pipe, but do I know how that sh*t works? No I do not. And they did. They'll be our go-to for inevitable future HVAC and plumbing issues.
Mt Ac was running all the time. I called Metro and they had someone out the next day. He explained that my zone system dampers were not working. Within a few days they completed the job in the amount of time they said it would take. The Technician was very professional, he made sure that both thermostats were working properly before he left. I know that when the time come to replace my furnace and AC, this is were I am going.

Our contractor used Metro Heating and Cooling to relocate an AC unit that was placed in our 1920s bungalow attic. We were extremely disappointed in the service.
Warning, I'm going to rant a little. If you read nothing else, read this: if you have Metro perform any service to your HVAC system, make sure it works before letting them leave and paying the bill.
The central air in our home had always worked perfectly, but it needed to be moved due to renovations we were doing on our attic. We had installers from Metro come out to move it. Apparently, we needed to be more specific and tell them it still needed to WORK after moving it. The job was around $3000. It did not pass the first city inspection due to them using the wrong tubing in the duct work. They came back out to fix the tubing. Once that was updated to meet code, no one thought to turn it on to make sure it worked? Sure enough, 90 degree heat came to MN later that week and we discovered it was not working.
Long story short, it took four ADDITIONAL service calls to get the AC working. Apparently, this company thinks it's perfectly OK to leave without having everything fully fixed.
The most unprofessional response came last Wednesday, after we had arrived home from a long weekend at the lake. The AC had been working on Sunday morning when we left, after 3 of the 4 additional service calls. When we came home to a broken AC unit (again, on a 90+ degree day), I called Metro. Paul, who answered the 24 hour maintenance line (side bar: I called him one morning around 8:00 am and got a call back at 9:30 am, he'd been sleeping he informed me), asked me if I had changed the filter, and informed me that any additional work would probably not be covered by the original work warranty. Well, Paul, you've had 6 HVAC people out here in the last week, did one of them check the filter?

Their scheduling is a bit lackluster. But I got a new water heater and softener installed at reasonable prices. Price estimates already included labor. They even did some extra work like removing a humidifier I didn't want and fixing my kitchen's water at no extra charge. Not something to expect, but that is quality service and good business right there.
