Yaro's passion for the crafts ignited as a teenager while designing and building airplanes from balsa wood and styrofoam. His desire to connect systems, build objects and physical infrastructures led him to study mechanical engineering and become an entrepreneur from an early age. He later found his calling in construction, designing and creating beautiful living spaces and memorable experiences for his clients. Yaro enjoys creative challenges and always strives to exceed the clients' expectations. His consultative style, attention to detail, strong work ethic and craftsmanship precision are transparent in his work, and have gained him countless recognitions and referrals from happy customers.

Thanksgiving weekend and we find out that we've been leaking 200 gallons a day for at least a couple days!!! I could hear water leaking behind a wall and took a look under the crawl space but very quickly realized that this wasn't going to be a simple fix nor easy to even get to given how swampy the ground already was (200 gallons is no joke).
My wife called Yaro while I was rummaging about trying to find a way to shut all water off with no success. It turns out my main valve to the house was hidden under some dirt and bark and the water connection to the city did not have a valve for civilians to operate.
What a nightmare. However, Yaro said he was just wrapping up nearby and could be there in half an hour given the emergency. To my surprise, he was actually at my house half an hour later! For a thanksgiving weekend while out at another job, to give such a prompt and accurate estimate for service is incredibly impressive.
Within two hours of us even discovering the leak or 90 minutes of him arriving, Yaro had showed me where my valves are and how the city valves work, been into my crawl space to source the leak, found the leak, found the root cause, fixed the pipe, left me a souvenir, accepted convenient payment, given more advice about our water system as a whole, and left as swiftly as he came to go to his next job!
Best home service experience I've ever had to be honest and I'd happily go back to Yaro again, just hopefully with less urgent jobs in the future.
Yaro was the reason I canceled my Home Warranty, was tired of getting low quality plumbers and waiting for days to get a response from them and then dealing with finished work that I was not satisfied with. I've called Yaro for two separate jobs , he was punctual , courteous, and very knowledgeable. He takes prides in his work, he explained to me what is the issue and what needs to be fixed. He goes beyond just fixing the issue, he actually looks at a better solution overall and looks at the root cause of the problem. I'll definitely recommend him , and I've passed his contact to my friends and family already.

Yaro responded to our request for leaking gas heater on Saturday morning. He was done replacing the heater by noon. Excellent job! Highly recommended.
I would like to highly recommend Yaro. He has done a whole-house repiping for fixing the H2O pipe burst under the slab. He is very professional and experienced and also very kind and easy to communicate with. I feel lucky to have him for my repair.
Yaro gave us great service fixing 3 clogged sinks, a clogged bath and a leaky toilet all within an hour or so. I shopped around as well and his rates were competitive. Highly recommend!
I've called out numerous plumbers over the past 40 years. None were as responsive, straightforward, and hard-working as Yaro. I called late Saturday afternoon after spotting a possible leak under the house. He came out Sunday to assess, located the leak, shut off the hot water to stop the leak, and returned Monday morning to repair the faulty water line. It was hot water through a pinhole leak, so like a sauna in the tight crawl space that he had to work in. Will definitely rely on him for future work.

Best plumber around, hands down! We've tried several and Yaro is heads above the rest! He's been able to pinpoint problems that only an experienced expert who has seen it all could properly diagnose. We haven't called another plumber since we found him! He's also been very honest and has saved us a lot of money. Highest recommendation!!!
Mother's Day disaster averted! We called Better Home Plumbing at 3:15 PM and Yaro said he'd be here (Walnut Creek) by 3:45 PM. He snaked our sewer line, which was (unfortunately for him) no 5 minute job. But he kept at it and cleared the drain. The sweet, sweet sound of water draining was a symphony to my ears.
Throughout the procedure, Yaro patiently answered questions about the different types of heads he was using on the snake and what each one could accomplish. Thanks to Yaro for saving the day for my wife and family! (and me)

I discovered that my water heater had died at 11:00 on a Saturday night. Yaro responded to my inquiry within an hour, and was there Sunday morning at 8:30, as promised, for a consultation. By 11:30, he had installed a new water heater and neatly removed all the debris from the old one! His service was polite, efficient, and competent. Thank you, Yaro!!
I reached out when I noticed there is some leak in my shower tub so I requested a quote on a Saturday. Yaro replied instantly with honest estimation and came right on time on scheduled time. After checking the cartridge he also noticed my water heater is leaking and proposed to replace it for me - which saved a lot of trouble!

Better Home Construction sent a technician to my home on Tuesday. I had read all the great reviews and they sent someone out the same day so it was promising but when the technician arrived, he said he needed to charge me $185 just to look. I said, Oh, I was not aware that there was a charge just to look. I had contacted another company that said they provide free estimates... The technician did not even let me finish my sentence. He got extremely upset, started yelling that no one provides free estimates and stormed out of my house, and speed off extremely fast. I was left in complete awe. He did not even let me finish my sentence to let him know since he was there, I would pay because what was important to me was finding whether we had a leak. He was extremely unprofessional and I would not recommend this company at all.
The company website actually advertises ,multiple times that they provide free estimates, see below from their website but obviously it is a lie.
Our full-service plumbing technicians provide free estimate on any job...
I would recommend another company for your needs as I did. The other company sent someone right away on the same day, Tuesday. Their technician was very professional and offered great service. They actually had a higher fee to evaluate the problem but explained that the fee would be deducted from the work they would need to perform. I would time and time again pay more for better customer service and professionalism.
I would NOT recommend Better Home Construction Services.

We purchased a new Toto Drake with a C5 Washlet on Monday (8/2) to replace our old Kohler. We expected delivery of the Toto on Sunday (8/8) and chose Better Home to do the toilet replacement. Better Home offered a great flat rate.
On Thursday (8/5) I found out the Toto had already arrived at the store and on the same day, our old Kohler stopped working.
I contacted Poli at Better Home and Saturday (8/7) morning was available. Yaro completed the installation in a little over an hour and everything was done perfectly! Yaro was also enjoyable to talk with and did not mind me watching the installation.
I am happy to give them a 5-star review!
We've used Yaro for multiple plumbing jobs over the years and have always been extremely happy with his work ethic and quality. He pays extra attention to the small details that others would overlook and has always been receptive to our needs.
He most recently installed and relocated an electrical water heater and everything worked perfectly.
Contacted Better Home Plumbing Services along with a couple of others for a quote for a problem with our bathroom shower. Yaro (the owner) took my call and came out within 3 hours to our house to do an initial assessment. He communicated clearly, responded to inquire promptly, and arrived on time as promised. He took the time to investigate and provided a free quote and proposed fix that seems reasonable. The quoted price is about average among the ones I received.
I decided to schedule the repair with Yaro since he was courteous (wore mask and removed shoes/wore shoe covers when coming inside the house), prompt, and communicative during the initial interaction.
Three days later Yaro arrived on time as scheduled. He took efforts to protect the areas surrounding work zone. He seems very experienced and thorough and fixed our shower problem by replacing the valve behind the drywall. He cleaned up the work area and put back the cut out sheetrock neatly so we don't have mess before we can fix the drywall permanently later.

Our very old water heater went out on Fourth of July weekend with my parents visiting. Yaro graciously came over and worked with us to resolve the issue despite it being a holiday weekend. Ultimately, he replaced our old system with a new heat pump water heater which we love. Yaro is very professional, trustworthy, and efficient. I really can't say enough about how great it was working with him. The electrician who came out to help with the job was also excellent and spoke very highly of his experiences with Yaro.
Yaro took my call and come to my house during the weekend to rescue a pipe burst inside my wall. He is so responsive and trustworthy. He does real quality job and charge a very reasonable price. Highly recommend his service.

Yaro did a great job rapidly replacing our power vent water heater located on our second floor balcony after our old one started leaking.
I asked for quotes from several companies via Yelp on Saturday, January 2nd, and Poli from Better Home Construction Services responded very quickly with questions and a quote. They were very cost competitive, provided a same day free consultation on January 2nd, and able to complete the install first thing Monday morning, January 4th. Due to specialness of the power vent water heater, no other company was able to come out before Monday either, as the warehouses stocking them weren't open on weekends. Poli was very communicative during the process.
Yaro came in on Saturday and quickly evaluated the job, confirming the quote I was provided by Poli. He then showed up 30 min early to our appointment first thing Monday morning and had the installation of our new water heater complete in 2 hours & 45 min. This included removing the old water heater for disposal, and bringing it down the stairs by himself. He was very professional and efficient with good quality work. He also kept his mask on at all times for COVID-19 precautions. Highly recommend this company for water heater installation!

We had a leak under the kitchen sink and it wasn't immediately clear what has gone wrong. Yaro came the very next day, pulled out and inspected the dishwasher, incinerator, all those old hoses - some of them had been extended and were leaking - basically went through all the possible causes, diagnosed and fixed the issues one by one.

We were about to have a large number of people over our home and the toilet seat in one of our bathrooms broke and one of our other toilets was running constantly. I requested an assessment via yelp and Better Home Plumbing showed up our house the next day and made repairs that same day at a fair cost. We really appreciate the quick turnaround and great service. We will use them in the future.
We highly recommend Better Home Plumbing Services! We hired them to look into a leak in our bathroom. There was water seeping through our bathroom floor tiles. Yaro came over to look into the situation and provide an estimate. He quickly determined the problem. Our floor boards were wet from a toilet leak and had begun to fall apart.
Needless to say, we wanted to fix this immediately before it became a bigger problem. We cannot say enough how impressed we are with Yaro's detailed work on our project. Our bathroom floor and wainscoting look amazing now and we have a new toilet installed that looks great as well. Yaro recommended a specific toilet for us and we're very happy with his recommendation.

Sewage backups are common in Lamorinda with roots and debris so it's always urgent to get on top of the problem quickly. And Better Home Plumbing did just that. Prompt return of call on a Sunday and an appointment later in the day was certainly reasonable. Basic pricing and expectations were set over the phone. Job completed by using auger machine in the exterior clean out. Professional, friendly, hardworking gentleman. Other service providers can learn something from the owner.
We had an emergency clog in our sewage line and called Yaro the night before. He came out the very next day with a helper and quickly resolved the problem at the exact cost he quoted me. He was very friendly and communicated well throughout. I will definitely call on him again.

Yaro was very responsive when I texted him this morning when dishwasher wasn't draining. I thought it was a drain problem. Yaro came out the same day, evaluated the draining from the sink, opened the dishwasher and discovered some debris stuck to the dishwasher filter. He cleaned off the filter and the standing water in the dishwasher drained out. Problem solved quickly! I'm glad I didn't have to call the dishwasher repair tech. He was very professional and quick in diagnosing the problem.
I called Yaro on a whim one day to get an estimate for a bathroom remodel (I had worked with him a year ago to get a utility sink installed in my garage). He gave me a fair estimate and within a few days had the bathroom gutted. The entire project took about a week and it looks wonderful! Yaro is very trustworthy and easy to work with. There were no surprise costs and no drama. I highly recommend this company!

He was able to patch up the leak until we purchased a new cooling system, which he returned and installed. We had other issues that he also helped us with.
