I have had to call upon Charlies Plumbing several times over the years.  I chose specifically to support local business, but really lucked out to get a plumber that does a great job no matter how big or small the issue.  Mike
is so knowledgeable and is always upfront and honest about your problem.

Saw a water spot on the first floor ceiling and called these guys as they have done great work before.   Watching them figure out where the leak was coming from was like watching Sherlock Holmes solve a crime.    They ended up cutting a 6x6 hole in the ceiling and were able to make the repairs.    I was worried about a huge repair- they were in and out under two hours.   Joey and Nathan- very personable, very efficient.   Explained what they found, what they did and cleaned every thing up afterwards.   Very impressive.

Positives--they were available and identified the issue where another plumbing service could not. The cost was about what we expected. The owner came out to meet the MSD inspector (MSD provides a four hour window they will show up with no advance message of being on the way). Longs provided a temporary solution so we could stay in our home over the weekend. They completed the work.
Needs improvement on--communication with the customer (fine in person but not in phone contacts or notifying customer if work time has changed), providing complete invoice, organization of the team (some members showed up hours before others; had to wait for right parts, etc . . .).
Service-oriented companies excel when customers would use them repeatedly. I am not sure I would call Longs again but I do appreciate that they could identify our problem.

I had an extremely negative experience with Scroggins. I should have realized I was in trouble when Brian asked me to pay the diagnostic fee over the phone before he'd even arrived. It only got worse from there.

He arrived 2 hours later than he initially said. After 5 minutes he told me he needed to charge a $300 advanced diagnostic fee. Then just 10 minutes later(seriously, suuuper advanced diagnostics), he presented me with a list of options to get my water heater pilot light re-lit.

The top option was $1200, but he said he couldn't do any of the services that day because the part could only be ordered from the manufacturer. The most economical option on his sheet was $400 but he refused to offer that service- why even show it as an option?

A few minutes later he said he could get the part from menards, but I'd have to pay for the part and the after hours fee since he was going to do the Basic Ignition System Renovation,
Mechanical safety system rejuvenation,
Tank contamination service, and
Performance and safety testing that day. It sounded pretty involved but since it was my only option to get hot water back that day, I agreed.

In addition to not being transparent about what he was going to do (hiding it in jargon) and how long it would take, he also marked up the part that he purchased.

Ultimately we wound up spending $1000 to get the thermostat valve replaced. It was a $70 part and he was here less than 3 hours, including the nearly hour he was gone to menards. He arrived at 3, was out the door at 6 and claimed the after hours charge was for the 2 extra hours after 4 PM. I didn't realize plumbers keep bankers hours, but since he charges like one I guess that tracks.

I will not hire them again. Brian gives plumbers a bad name.

Set up an appointment on Wednesday for 5 PM, unfortunately Don never showed and I was unable to leave a voicemail because his mailbox was full and have yet to talk to him two days later so I had to go with someone else.  he seemed like a really nice man but unfortunately he didn't come through like he said he would. I would not advise using this service

I recently had some issues with my kitchen faucet. After various attempts to fix it on our own, I resorted to calling a plumber. I found DJ's Plumbing recommended in a neighborhood Facebook group, so I gave him a call. DJ was friendly and flexible in his arrival time. When he came the following day, he let me know I would need a new faucet and clearly described what kind to get. He said to just let him know when I got it, and he'd come back to install it. I even texted him when I was at Lowe's to make sure it was the right kind of faucet, and he responded nearly immediately to confirm it was.

DJ came back the following day--a Saturday (he doesn't charge extra for weekends or nights). He arrived on time and quickly got to work and installed the new faucet. He also gave me a few tips and made sure I registered the faucet through Delta, as it has a lifetime warranty.

I was very pleased with DJ's Plumbing and would certainly recommend him.

Reached out to Mr. Brown about doing a plumbing job at my house and received the response that he didn't unclog drains. That was the reply I received when I told him what was going on. We ended up going with someone else and having to have a pipe replaced in our front yard. If he would've bothered to ask anymore questions he might have decided the job was worth it but if this is the kind of response I got to an issue I probably lucked out by going with someone else anyway.

am writing this review on behalf of a POC friend in hopes youll listen to a white person. The men who entered my friends house (they are black) were calling his family n****** (yes, with the hard R) and BLM c*cksuckers (my friend is gay). To have people that represent your company say such vile things about people in their own home is disgusting. My friends and I will absolutely never give a dime of my money to this company and I hope you take responsibility for your employees. This company is absolutely disgusting.
