Best Businesses in Indiana
Danny at Dylco Electric is the BEST! Not only is he a great electrician, but he's also just a nice guy. Their customer service is incredible too. If you're looking for an electrician, I would highly recommend giving him a call.
SIDE NOTE: We recently had him update our internet/wifi which we were constantly having issues with. We have Comcast and I just assumed there was no hope for improvement, but after speaking with Danny, we decided to update some of our equipment. Our Internet has never been more consistent or faster. It's definitely worth a call if you are frustrated with your current wifi connections.

We had an estimate appointment Friday, and when we agree to the price he would come the next day. Since the outlet installation was simple, they did it the same day. The price is reasonable, the other company quoted me 8x more. They did it in less than 30 min. Thank you Shannon and company. I'll use you again for future work and I will recommend you to my friends.

Handled the issue quickly, I was able to come out in less than 24 hours. Will definitely use again.

I used Ace Lighting to install 3 ceiling fans for me. Still in the boxes and required assembly. James and Dan cheerfully completed the installations and packed up the refuse and the job was done! Their fee was so reasonable, I felt like I was robbing them! LOL
I have since called on them to install my Ring doorbell and other small projects. They are very friendly and extremely professional, punctual and will also give you a call when they're on the way to you. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a company that does an excellent job at reasonable prices.

Failed to install garbage disposal properly; leading to water damage in kitchen; further exacerbated by failing to own the loss

I've never had to fire someone until I hired Tony. Don't get me wrong, Tony is a great person to talk to on the phone and he will give you the best price, but it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had.
I wanted 3 ceiling fans installed including the wiring and drywall. He said it would take him 4 hours and he would be there between 9:00am and 9:30am. I told him that I had to be at work in the afternoon and that I arranged with my employer to be at work at 2:00pm.
Tony sends me a text message at 10:45am saying, "I'm 15 minutes out." He then shows up at 11:30am (45 minutes later) with no apologies. Honestly, I don't know what he did for the next 2.5 hours. I kept seeing him bring in equipment into my home and taking multiple smoke breaks, but nothing was getting done.
He comes up to me around 3:00pm telling me that he bought the wrong parts and has to go to Lowe's to get the right parts. His partner tells him to get some plastic covers for my furniture. Tony then says that "I can't be buying extra supplies for this job." Plastic covers cost $1 at Lowes. You are a "professional" electrian that cuts into drywall everyday and you don't have plastic covers to protect your customer's property? Are you kidding me?
He's gone for 1.5 hours. He comes back from Lowe's and the job actually starts at 5:00pm. By this time, my boss has given up on me coming into work. I was ticked off, but now they've made holes in my drywall and I want something to get done.
Now, it's 9:00pm (12 hours later from the proposed start time) and nothing has been completed. I told Tony and his partner to clean up their mess and leave. Tony and his partner then start arguing about how it was the other person's fault on why they got fired.
Tony tells his partner that he's not paying him for the work he did that day. They then begin to argue about money IN MY LIVING ROOM!
It takes them 2 hours to clean up and get out of my house.
Folks, they left my house at 11:30pm. 14 hours after the proposed start time and 12 hours after the time they actually got to my house. This is beyond ridiculous.
So, I'm out, not only an entire day of work, but an entire evening with my family. I spent the next day getting the smell of cheap cigarettes out of my house and cleaning my carpets and floors, because of all of the drywall. I can't even tell you what my wife was thinking, because Yelp would kick me off of here.
I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and NEVER hired these guys.
By the way, I have proof of everything I said here (text messages, photos, etc.).

A little over a year ago in November of 2017 I was negotiating to purchase my house on 17th Avenue in Beech Grove. The property was built in 1918 and was in 2017 owned by William Croasmun Jr.
During the requisite home inspection my home inspector expressed concerns about the remaining live knob and tube wiring in the home. Croasmun advised me to contact the electrician who had done work on the house and who also, I was naively pleased to learn, was electrical inspector for the city of Beech Grove. I spoke to Mr. Mike Hughes on the phone. In addition to being unpleasant and condescending, he scoffed at the concerns of the home inspector and told me in sarcastic tones that anyone who purchases an older home should expect knob and tube wiring and it is not necessary to do anything about this. A year later and a little wiser and having spoken to other area electricians and experts, of course I realize that this is not the case. I also realize, in hindsight, that Mr. Hughes was colluding with seller Croasmun so that Croasmun would not be obligated to make any electrical improvements.
I am not naive enough to believe that every electrician I encounter will be honest and ethical, however I do not believe that a dishonest and manipulative electrician like Mike Hughes should be an inspector for the city of Beech Grove (or any government organization). I will be pursuing this with the Better Business Bureau and any other agencies that I think might be in a position to protect the interests of future Indianapolis home buyers"

Couldn't have had a better experience. An old dead tree fell over in our back yard and snapped the power line to the house. IPL came out and said we needed an electrician to do the work. This was on a Sunday and most of the companies we called couldn't get to us for several days or wanted astronomical "after hours" fees. Robert showed up within an hour of our call, gave us the most reasonable quote we heard all afternoon, and started the work immediately. Our lights were back on before it got dark outside, the food in our fridge and freezer was saved! I wouldn't hesitate to call Taylor's again.

Let me start by saying that I have never actually used this company, and here is why: I called to get information about their services and whoever answered the phone simply said, "Hello" (no mention of a company name). I ask is this Cloyd Construction, to which the answer is a rude "Yes, who is this, what do you want?" At this point I decided that I would not be referring this company to my clients in Indianapolis. Extremely rude and completely turned me off to the company within the first 30 seconds.
