Peterson Electric

I would like to highly recommend Peterson Electric of Loveland Colorado, 970 599 1872, if you need an electrician.  We have used them on several occasions.  For example, when an electrical outlet went out, our French Drain overflowed.  Joshua fixed the outlet and diagnosed the cause of the problem.  He fixed that problem in addition to taking care of the outlet.  You couldn't ask for anyone better.  Joshua is extremely knowledgeable about electronics,  excellent at diagnosing the existing problem, reliable in getting the work done in a timely manner, hard working, has an incredible work ethic, honest and fairly priced.  If you need help with an electrical problem, try Peterson Electric.  They are shockingly good!

Joshua installed a new electric panel at our home. He is easy to work with, gave us a fair price, coordinated everything with the city and did an awesome job.  We highly recommend Peterson Electric for any electrical work.

Not a customer (nor in the same state) but I've watched some of his YouTube videos which are fascinating to watch if you want to learn about electrical work.  Would hire him if I lived in Colorado.

The only thing that I can say is that the guy was honest -- my job for him (installation of a ceiling fan) wasn't worth his while.  If I had a bigger job (wiring a skyscraper?), maybe I'd condsider him.  Otherwise, nope.

We called PE late one night when we were having power issues and they showed up within 2 hours, accurately diagnosed the problem and spent the time to explain it to us. Joshua is extremely knowledgeable and was able to put us at ease in finding a solution to our electrical nightmare. He, Alisha, and family are some of the most professional and hardest working people you will find. We were blown away at what they were able to accomplish in our difficult to work with 1908 home. We would absolutely recommend Peterson Electric to anyone looking for electrical work done.

The owner, Josh Peterson, scheduled this morning between 7:30 - 8:30 AM but showed up around 8:45 AM. When he scheduled the appointment, he said he would only have 30 minutes to look at our panel and see what he would have to do to put in a level 2 charger for an electric car. He was at our hone until 9:45 AM & spent a good amount of time using our kitchen table as his personal office. I finally called him and said that my husband had to leave and take our daughter to school. He said, and I quote, Well, I don't know your daily routines. No one told me that you had to leave. When I explained to him that he had only said he had half an hour to look at our home and we counted on that statement, he very rudely said he would leave right then and then ended the call. I've never been treated so rudely or impatiently or angrily as Josh treated me today. I don't know about their quality of work but I have no desire to work with someone who has no regard for other people's time or how he treats his potential customers. I will be moving on from them and find another person who is nice to work with.

Update (based on Josh's response): Showing up at 8:40 when you say you will be there between 7:30 and 8:30, is not on time. Also, conducting company business at a costumer's kitchen table while drinking coffee with your spouse is not okay. Josh took our time and was extremely rude. And no matter what he writes here to excuse said behavior in my home and over the phone, it was extremely unprofessional. Do not use them. If you do, you will be talked into all types of services and upgrades that you do not need. Buyer beware!

Update: I noticed that Joshua went back in and updated his review to add lies to his response. Maybe he was hoping I wouldn't read it. Pointing out all kinds of erroneous and false information about me promising to be at my house for the free estimate, etc does not take away from the fact that he was extremely unprofessional, late, rude, and tried to con us into extra services. The whole point of my review is to inform possible future costumers that Joshua will try to persuade you into services you do not need. These services will cost you thousands. Buyer beware!

And by the way, Joshua, attacking me personally only proves the type of business that you run. I refuse to hire someone who did horrible in their interview i.e. free estimate.

I woke up to some chirping smoke detectors in the middle of the night. Joshua was able to come to my house the next day and replace my entire system. As he was finishing, his ladder hit a light on my landing and it broke the glass. Joshua promised to make it right. My fixture was rather unusual and quite large. I looked online and couldn't really find anything similar, so Josh suggested having some glass cut and sandblasted. He was pretty sure his wife, Alicia, could paint it. I figured it was worth a try. They came and installed it today, and it's nearly indistinguishable from my original fixture! I know accidents happen, and I would have been satisfied with a replacement fixture. But Joshua and Alicia went WAY above and beyond for me. I can't recommend them highly enough! I wish there was a six-star option. :)

Peterson Electric installed a 240 line for our new hot tub.  The service was excellent - he came over for a quote shortly after I contacted him, was able to perform the service within a week, and stuck to the timeline and budget.  Joshua was very familiar with local code and had many helpful thoughts as to placement.  After the hot tub was delivered, he came to hook it up and stayed around an extra 2 hours to make sure the tub was working.  He gave us just as many good tips as the hot tub store.  
The inspector mentioned that our electrician did a great job, and I was very impressed with the quality of his workmanship.  Would definitely hire in the future.

It was a Saturday after the 4th of July and my air-conditioning would not cut on.  The breaker had flipped and would not stay on, so it was obvious that the problem was electrical.  I tried to contact several companies, with no luck, but Joshua Peterson promptly returned my call and agreed to come out the same day.  It was 98°.

The bad breakers were fixed, the connections tightened and Joshua took the time to walk me through what would be involved in replacing the panel, but he said my existing one was good enough and did not recommend replacing at this time.  Just a few hours after the problem surfaced, I was good to go.  Joshua also promptly answer a text that I sent him later in the day.

I highly recommend Peterson Electric for their professionalism, quality work and service after the sale.  Call with complete confidence.

I can't say I'm too happy. We had him come up check out our house. We had several issues we were concerned about. He didn't seem like he really wanted to be there, and I think it really reflected on his advice. He tried to tell us everything in the house was fine and he didn't even really test it. He just looked at it. Now here we are, dealing with major issues. We had another electrician come out and he told us what we are originally thought in the beginning, that the panel was bad and the breakers were not good. Everything I had shared with him as far as problems, got dismissed. I'm certainly happy our house did not burn down. But I am a little disappointed because I really thought he was giving us an honest answer.

My husband & bought a new house and had quite a to-do list from our home inspector, so I called up Peterson Electric based on their other raving reviews.  

Joshua arrived promptly at our agreed time (even though we're all the way up in Boulder).  I found him to be thorough, knowledgeable, personable, informative and honest. It's so rare to find someone truly trustworthy that will do a great job without breaking the bank. We're thrilled to have found that in Peterson Electric!

Joshua was incredibly attentive, taking the time to walk through each item on the list and room in the house. He explained all safety issues and helped me figure out what needed to happen right away (within our budget) vs. what we can to do down the road. He was up-front with pricing for all parts and labor, which I very much appreciate.

I was impressed every step of the way--from the first phone call setting up our appointment to the visit itself. Communication was easy, efficient, and friendly. I also love that they accept cards and use the Square app for transactions. (No more hunting down the damn checkbook.)  The services we received were reasonably priced, and I was given a complete rundown of what we'll take care of in the future with a full price breakdown.  No unpleasant surprises here!

Overall it was a very a positive, informative experience. We look forward to working with Peterson Electric again for our next project. We're really grateful to have found such a fantastic electrician!

Peterson Electric will be my go-to electrician.  I have been in real estate for many years and have had numerous experiences with electricians.  This was different.  Straightforward answers to my questions.  Joshua was creative in his solutions and made the repairs I requested quickly.  I am impressed and will use this local electrician for any/all future needs.

Josh installed power for some electric blinds we were getting installed. He spent a large amount of his time between coming out to give an estimate, working with the provider to ensure what he installed would work with their technology, etc. The install went smoothly and he did a great job. I highly recommend Josh and Alisha.

I needed 2 new electrical outlets; to hide the cords of 2 wall mounted, flat screen T.V.'s. Joshua fit me into his schedule within 2 working days. He arrived when he said he would, with a text letting me know he was on the way. The outlets were installed quickly and he made sure the televisions were working. Very pleased with the quality of work.

Josh initially came on 3-4-19 to do a service call at the house we rent for a problem with the circuit breakers tripping.  I called him again on the 6th and talked with him about whether I could use the existing outlet on the back porch for a new hot tub we were looking at purchasing.  He asked me to send him pictures of the outlet and the panel in the basement.  He worked with me via text for quite some time to figure out exactly what I needed in order to have the hot tub work without problems and he gave me an estimate.  I then asked him if there was any way that could come back on the 8th and install in the dedicated outlet but he said he was booked until 3-21-19.  When I told him I was really hoping to get it done sooner as the tub was being delivered on 3-8-19 and I was just extremely excited about finally getting a hot tub, he said he'd see what he could work out.  On Thursday, 3-7-19, he told me he'd be out the next day about 2 pm.  He wasn't able to be here on time as another job kept him over, but when he did arrive, he and his wife Alisha started working, after dark AND in the rain.  It took a couple hours, but the job was done and done right!  My hot tub was up and running.  We invited them to come in for a hot drink after being out in the cold.  They stayed and visited with us for a while after the work was done and that's definitely not something your average electrician would do!  We really appreciated the work Joshua did AND the time he and Alisha spent talking with us!  Great experience...would definitely recommend Josh and his wife to anyone!  A+++

Called Joshua with a question about pricing for service vs. doing it myself with (his) advice and Joshua was candid, honest, and forthright about his recommendations.  He referred me to an HVAC professional he has worked with in the past who was kind, helpful, and equally as honest with me.

It feels rare these days to find a straightforward and precise professional who is willing to both advise and refer when questions into service fall outside of their wheelhouse.  While I have yet to contract Peterson Electric for service, you can bet that they will be my first and only call when that need arises.  

The totality of my experience with Joshua, Peterson Electric, and the subsequent referrals has presented me with an overwhelming 'feel-good' energy around the whole thing - a resulting experience that has become increasingly uncommon when consulting outside help.

I called Joshua at Peterson Electric based on his outstanding reviews. I was not disappointed! Even with his very busy schedule, Joshua texted me several times leading me through a very thorough analysis of the issue. He then was able to recognize the problem with the circuit and made suggestions on my buying the correct parts required before he arrived to repair the panel circuit breaker. Joshua made time on his busy schedule to come by and very quickly finished the job. I highly recommend Peterson Electric for your electrical needs. I will definitely use Joshua again. I've had the pleasure of working with Joshua several times during my time in this neighborhood! This FAMILY OWNED company is your BEST bet for excellent customer service, professional pride, and I trust them with making my home safe. I sold my home and was under a huge crunch time. Josha & his wife were here last night (to fit me in) till 8:30 to ensure my inspection objection was mitigated. He cited the codes for each item fixed to ensure the inspector would be satisfied. We had installed two ceiling fans and somehow blew out the power in our back room. Joshua diagnosed what had happened, took the fan apart, fixed the problem and put everything back together in 15 minutes! We will be calling him with all of our electrical needs!

Great service! They're quick to respond, reasonably priced, extremely knowledgeable, and wonderful work. They worked with my schedule (and dog), and were awesome!

I needed a GFCI outlet repaired, a bushing replaced on my bathroom exhaust fan and insulation repaired on my powerline to/ from the detached garage. Joshua was honest with his estimate on the phone by being clear about the potential for a higher fee if the problem was worse than expected.  After many previously bad surprise charge experiences with other companies ,  I found it super refreshing to hear someone just give it to me straight.  Trip charges and all.  

When he came out, he showed up on time (within his window) and was polite. He found the problem with the GFCI was slightly worse than expected and yet got it fixed within the estimated time and cost.  

His good attitude and work ethic is worth every penny.  Not to mention, he did the job right.  I recommend him highly.

We purchased a house with aluminum wiring and were concerned about the fire hazard.  We contacted several electricians before choosing Peterson Electric.  Peterson Electric didn't give the cheapest bid but was very thorough.  We were glad we chose them because they took the time and care to do the work right.  Joshua explained each stage of the job in detail, so we knew exactly what work was done.  Many unexpected challenges arose during the job. Peterson Electric stayed late and worked on holidays to try to keep to our agreed upon timeline.  In the end, we are confident in the work done and feel safe in the home.  Thank you, Peterson Electric!

Excellent service and turn around time!  I work for a moving company and one of our customers needed help with a power recliner that wasn't working after we delivered it to their new home.  Being out of state, I wasn't sure who to contact so I turned to Yelp and saw the great reviews for Peterson Electric.  I spoke with Joshua who was extremely helpful.  He contacted the customer, made arrangements to meet with him, fixed the recliner, and the customer was extremely happy with the work.  To top it all, his pricing was very reasonable.  Couldn't be happier with how this all turned out!

Josh did a great job!  For starters, he squeezed me in on very short notice.  Then, he went above and beyond the call of duty to work on low voltage wiring (something he normally doesn't cover) in addition to what we called him out for.  He was prompt and cleaned up after himself, even though I told him I'd be happy to do it.  I highly recommend him!

I never give 5 stars because no one in this world is perfect. Joshua did an amazing job wiring up my 4000 watt grow with a couple extra added 120s as well. There isn't too many people that you can trust and to say the least, my comfort level was at an all time high. I didn't feel worried at all after meeting them. Not the slightest. I'm an owner of a consulting business my self and knowing that I had someone with an abundance of knowledge as well as trust worthy, really eases the mind. Not to many good business out there that make you feel more valuable after the work then before they started. And not just in the pocket book. Thanks Joshua for all your work. Petersen Electric seems genuinely interested in maintaining their customer base and service. If their is an issue Josh will work in coming to an agreement to make it a fair transaction.

First let me preface this review by saying that Josh is a decent guy with a lot of electrical knowledge.  I don't like to write negative reviews but I feel that other consumers should know about my experience with this company. We had Josh and his wife out to the house on a Friday to review the job and I was given a window of 8-10 Monday to hang a lot of fixtures in our new home.  We also had a decent amount of work to be done in our garage as well so I understood that would probably be a different day.  We went over every room to be completed and they even took pictures of the work to be done.  Over the weekend I removed all the old fixtures that I could so Josh could just wire them up.  On Monday at 9:30 I had not heard from him so I called  to make sure we were still on and he said he had to catch up on emails(?)so he was running late.  He finally arrived after noon (over 2 hours late) but did apologize.  Josh got to work right away hanging all the fixtures and finally he said he was finished so I wrote him a check in my kitchen assuming all the interior lights had been hung.  He told me he couldn't come back for over a week on the garage which I understood.  After he left I went upstairs to find that my son's bathroom light had not been hung and wires were exposed and a halogen shop light that I provided Josh to work with was sitting in the doorway.  I immediately called Josh who said he just forgot (which makes no sense because the door was wide open) but was not coming back for a week. He said Maybe they can use the halogen light which I didn't find funny.  I ended up calling another  company to complete all the work the next day so my kids could use their bathroom.  Great electrical knowledge yes but not a very well run operation and our experience with Peterson Electric was not a good one.

This service was recommended to us via American Home Shield.  The electrician called to say he was coming.  He arrived (at 10:50) and sat out in his van with his wife for 15 minutes before coming in to look at our issues (a ground fault circuit and an outdoor light that is not working).  We were intending to see how much an extra outlet would cost and to probably spend money to improve the set up in our garage for a refrigerator.  The electrician never introduced himself or shook my hand.  He was very abrupt and basically just wanted the $75 fee.  I told him my husband would be here in just a few minutes and he was not interested in waiting.  He was rude.  I told him we were interested in some things that we knew would not be covered by AHS and that we were willing to pay for them.  He said his dentist did not wait for him or his wife.  It was at this point I gave him the $75 check and told him that we would find service elsewhere.  I called AHS to tell them about this lousy experience (call placed at 11:24).  My husband arrived home at 11:25.  I actually had to wait longer in my hot garage looking at him and his wife in their fancy van with the AC running as he was doing other business in my drive way.  I would recommend that you seek other service.
