We opened our doors for business in 1991 and continue to innovate and figure out better ways to serve our customers. We started with one electrician and today our team continues to grow. Our newest Dana Point location services he electrical installation, design, and repair needs of South Orange County from Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach to Dana Point and San Clemente. When we began electric cars were science fiction and today electrical car charger installations are one of our specialties.

So happy to find this company! We love the lights in our high ceilings but had no way to change them (poles and ladders were too short and dangerous). One call and we were scheduled, with updates provided by text on our phone. Tech arrived on time. Love our new lights - thank you!
I really like these guys. They showed up when they said they would. They tackled a complex issue and didn't just give up. They sent three different techs out until it was fixed. And they didn't overcharge when they easily could have.
I thought of writing this right now because I'm about to call them out again for a different issue and I thought everyone should know that there is a reliable, team of electricians in south OC!
Tradesman is by far the best electrician I've used in my 35 years in San Clemente and I've tried a dozen over the years, if there's any issues they'll come back and sort it out straightaway at no charge, this makes a huge difference because electricians are never inexpensive
Very responsive and professional! Helped us installed an EV charging unit and rented a scissor lift to remove our old chandelier with this new one. Highly recommend these guys!!!
I was looking to have an EV charger installed and went on Yelp looking for an electrician. I received about 5 responses and Tradesman was not the least expensive nor the most expensive, but was very competitive. I decided to chose them based on their responsiveness and customer service during the initial process.
I scheduled the appointment and Matt & Ricardo arrived at the agreed upon time. The whole time they were very professional and knowledgeable about what they were doing. They completed the install of the receptacle and helped to install the actual charger so it could be checked out before they left. Overall a great experience and highly recommended,
I had Tradesman come out and install 3 additional outlets in new locations in our home. The technicians, Carl and Ricardo, were kind, efficient, thorough, clean, careful and quick. Got all the work done quickly and did a great job navigating around our little family. Recommended.
Thank you Dennis and Reed. I scheduled an appointment to fix several outlets that were out? Dennis asked me some questions about them such as do they have a push button. I looked and no I didn't see one. Reed the service tech (who could not have been nicer) came out and sure enough they did have a push button (all in black and I just didn't see it). I'm not only embarrassed but now I have a service charge, which is totally understandable since they are a business and their time is important.
Before I could even ask for maybe a discount, Reed said there would be NO CHARGE! And, a Merry Christmas to Tradesman Electric! I'll certainly be letting my friends and neighbors know about this super service company.
Spoke with rep at Tradesman on 7/16/22 and was told the estimate fee is $287 despite ad saying free estimates on Yelp.
Explanation was given that an estimate is not for current work but for work in the future apart from what needs fixing now.

We needed a fan/light combo installed in our master bedroom. I contacted tradesmen electric via Yelp and they gave me a quote for $600. Bought a fan and made an appt, window was 10:00am-12:00pm (noon).
Josh and Jasbir showed up at 10:00 am exactly, and were done in about one hour. They went into the attic, ran wires, set a anchor for the fan/light and even managed to replace our attic lightbulb and smoke detector battery while they were up there!
Josh and Jasbir were friendly, professional and efficient. This install was not cheap but the efficiency and professionalism was worth every penny. The fan/light works perfectly and is secure as it can be. I will 100% use this company again when we install another fan/light in the guest room. I recommend this company to anyone looking to have electrical work done around the house.

They came and did a complimentary estimate walkthrough and reviewed the scope of electrical work. We had a very specific list of the items we wanted done. That all seemed to go well and off to a good start. However, the estimate came days later and was full of generic tasks that did not correlate to the specific items that we needed. I followed up several times with the main office requesting for the quote to be revised to accurately reflect the work we discussed. They said someone would follow up with me, but the only follow up I got was an automated message. Very frustrating, inefficient, and unhelpful. I will go look elsewhere for an electrician.
We're very pleased with Tradesman Electric and the team who came in and installed one of the most complex high-end Chandelier in Foyer main entry as well as in our master bedroom, in addition to recess lights in family & business room. The quality, plan and skills they demonstrated were just outstanding, including a very reasonable quote & discounts! I would like to call out Dennis, Kenny and Jonathan for their patience, dedication and outstanding quality of work completed in 2 chandelier installations! Thank you!
I received service from them twice so far. I went with them the first time for recessed lights because they seemed to be the most reasonably priced and were able to come out quick. They got repeat business from me because of their excellent service. Matt came out both times, accompanied by Ali the second time. Super nice guys, and incredibly efficient. Customer service is very responsive and helpful as well. Definitely recommend if you need service for electrical work!
Called Tradesman mid-morning to ask if they could install an outdoor outlet for my mom. (She bought a scooter and wants to charge it outside)
It's 230pm same day and she already has her new outlet!
Matt was quick to respond and schedule us, and Kenny, Ricardo and Alex were professional, personable and fast. We were joking that it was like they could read each other's minds, but it's kind of true- that's how efficiently they worked together.
The outlet looks great (and it works, of course) and, though they were drilling through walls, they didn't leave a trace of dust. They hooked up the charger to the scooter, and even moved my mom's (very heavy) planter for her, so her patio looks just right. I'll definitely call them for any electrical jobs we have in the future. An absolute pleasure doing business with them!

I submitted a quote request to get a Tesla Charger installed and they responded quickly via text and requested photos. Turns out that in order to do it the right way I needed to replace my panel and they did an amazing job. They even scheduled the stucco repair with one of their vendors for a full turnkey solution. 5 out of 5 for professionalism and service. Highly recommend.

We just moved into a new home in SJC, and needed some electrical work. I highly recommend Tradesman Electric! We had Reed, Nick, Toby and Tim come out at different times and they were all fantastic. We will definitely call them in the future.
Our smoke alarms went off at 2 am due to one having a low battery and we have approximately 11 smoke detectors located up high on the ceiling
We called Tradesmen Electric to come out and swap out all the batteries in the smoke detectors and make sure it wasn't a wiring problem because they are all connected together
We had a quick response and great communication for a fair price !
The next project we needed Tradesmen for was adding our new lighted house numbers to a brick post. They came prepared to drill through a very thick brick exterior and they were successful!
The house numbers are now visible from the street and Door Dash will have no problem finding us
They were quick to respond and showed up on time. The estimated was inline with other companies in the area. The follow through customer service was great. Would recommend.
Sight unseen, Tom decides I need a new breaker panel. $$$$. I asked for a quote to replace a breaker. It reminds me of the tree trimmer that came out and refused to trim my tree. He said it had to be removed. At least he came out.

I called Tradesman electric yesterday and they were here today. Boom. Problem fixed. Other companies suggested weeks out and that just was not acceptable.
The person, Kenny, was personable but more importantly, knowledgeable.
They communicated to let me know he was on his way and he arrived on time.
This was our first time using them, but not the last!

The best and the cheapest in the west!These electricians/engineers Removed a double stacked electrical panel Placing the new panel where the old panel was behind it the team of three electricians came prepared with two generators to power the duplex to keep essential electrical items on during the repair and installation of the electrical panel, I highly recommend these guys if you want to get the job done right For a rock-bottom price, Plus having the comfort of having electricity while the main panel is being repaired.

Amazing job!! I would leave six stars if I could!! Details of what happened: My elderly parents suddenly lost power to a section of their home in Laguna Niguel this past Wednesday. When I found out they were having a problem, I called Tradesman and left a message asking for help. Matt called me back within 20 minutes and had me send him some pictures of the electrical panel. About an hour later, Reed stopped by and was able to quickly diagnose and repair the problem. Tradesman had everything back to good working order same day and only within a couple of hours of my initial phone call to them. This may have set some sort of a record for response time and helpfulness. Thank you!! You guys are awesome!!

We were in the process of installing solar in our house, which required updating our panel to 200Amps. I was referred to Tradesman and I am very pleased to the results. From the initial call to their office, to the onsite appointment and the actual upgrade of the panel, the experience was 5 star. At every encounter they were responsive, courteous and thorough. The pricing was very competitive and fair. After they completed the upgrade and left I had a question that I needed addressed. The project manager responded in a timely manner, we addressed the question and he followed up the next day by coming back to the house to ensure everything was ok. We have tried several electricians since we moved to the area 7 years ago. By far Tradesman was the best and I will continue to use them.

I highly recommend this contractor. They were transparent and plain spoken from the very first conversation over the phone. They were easy to speak with and were clear about possible outcomes and options. They provided excellent communication about availability and time frames. They were also very reasonably priced. In our case, we needed to have more wiring added in to a line that wasn't installed correctly the first time. In our conversation, the representative had a sense of my experience with electrical and even suggested I could probably fix it myself and he clarified what kind of solution met code and what did not. That said, their pricing was reasonable and there was a chance the repair could be beyond my capability, therefore I schedule them for a repair. They did exactly what they indicated they would do. Before deciding to go with Tradesman I had spoken with two other contractors and reached out to a few others. The other contractors seemed to have a higher price point and were not as transparent about how they would fix the repair and their cost estimates were almost double that of Tradesman.

I am a Realtor from Northern California who moved here in January and bought a house in San Clemente and the first item on the list was to replace the Zinsco electrical panel that was recalled 20 years ago. If anyone has one of these call these guys before your house burns down. I have come across these panels many times and always recommend buyers replace them. They were on time, professional and did great work for a fair price. I will be calling them for more work and will request the same group that came out today.

Kenny was on time, professional, and completed a kind of complicated project. We had our house pre-wired for an electric car a few years ago and the previous electrician didn't make it easy to complete this project, but Kenny was up to the task and got it done. Also took care of a bunch of recessed led trim that needed to be replaced. They matched it exactly to existing, good stuff.

We have used their services multiple times and they have never disappointed. When getting quotes, they are on the pricy side but oh so worth it!! All the electricians are knowledgeable and fast. Per hour they may charge more but they can get the job done in less time because they know what they are doing. So overall we ended up paying less than we would have with other electricians. The most recent project we had was a complicated one. The electrician came to our home and listed to what our vision was and made great suggestions to help us save money and make everything more efficient. We will always use Tradesman for our electrical projects.
Carl, Dennis and Kenny exceeded our expectations today with our panel upgrade. They coordinated with the City to obtain the necessary permits, as well as with SDGE to turn the power off and back on, all within the same day as the installation! They arrived on time, communicated clearly at all times and all three of them were professional, friendly and smart. The job site was kept spotless and organized at all times, and there was no trace of them having been here after the job was completed. We absolutely would recommend the Dana Point team of Tradesman Electric for any electrical project, big or small! We have had this scheduled for a while and we were actually dreading it, but it went smoother than we could have imagined. These guys are true professionals!

Awesome Electrician team that is super professional, clean, and they really care about my home. Definitely hiring them again and again. Im always treated with respect, they are always on time, and Tom communicates super well via text. They always go above and beyond cleaning up and tackle any project both big and small. Ive had them do ALL of the electrical work that has come up in my new house like adding new outlets for upgraded appliances, put in an upgraded chandelier and fan, replaced switches, etc. they handle it all and do not discriminate. They installed my luxury fan and chandelier perfectly without a scratch and even wiped it down for me.
Dennis is a magician and a rockstar with electrical work. He just put in a dedicated circuit for me for my upgraded LG dryer and wired it from the braker box up 3 stories and through the attic to drop down into the laundry room with 0 drywall holes. Idk how he did it frankly. Saved me money from having to patch and repaint!
They also are taking precautions for COVID-19 so I am comfortable having them come to my home during this unfortunate situation.
Reed was great, got here early and got the job done fast. Gave some great advice with some strange wiring issues we had. Our problem was solved quickly and professionally and we're looking at having him do more work for us in the future. Great service and no problems!
We had a problem with some can lights flickering. Reed came out and took a look and diagnosed the problem quickly and within the time period for the initial quote. Reed was very polite and thoroughly checked out our issue, and asked if he could help us with anything else. Very happy with Tradesman.

We suddenly lost power to several outlets in our home and needed quick response. From my initial call right up through the successful repair today of our myriad electrical problems, we were 100% pleased and grateful that we went with this unknown company based solely on the excellent Yelp reviews. Communication was clear, they were extremely responsive, they arrived on time and worked quickly, their prices were very fair, and (sorry, but this is important to me) they genuinely made us feel like they enjoyed helping us. Reese, Carl and his team explained everything clearly without dumbing it down (well, I suppose they probably did have to dumb it down - but they didn't make me feel dumb) and it was clear that they had an understanding of the electrical problem(s) as well as an extensive knowledge of the various options to fix them. Will most definitely call them for future needs.
Live in 1960's condo with the original electrical wiring. 3 plugs went out and required replacement. As tenant, I needed specific work order estimates for landlord approval. Tradesman sent me an exact estimate. Carl was professional and explained the whole house required updating. Thanks again..
called for assistance with an issue with a tripped breaker. i been trying for about two hours to reset the breaker without any success. i had call my home warranty for assistance but they won't be able to come out until Monday and today was Friday. The room where the breaker was services my Internet and home office. I had to get to work immediately and I really needed this done ASAP.
Matthew answered the phone promptly explained to me the charges to come out today but before coming out he wanted to help me troubleshoot the issue remotely. Within five minutes we had the breaker up and running again. Great service by Matthew he was incredible and will definitely call them when I have another electrical issue or need. Our electricity went completely out in our house yesterday afternoon and Tradesman Electric came out at last minute notice and stayed until almost 11 that night to put in a new electrical box for us!! Awesome service and so appreciated! Definitely will use them again for any electrical needs
Had Tradesman Electric come out to install a 240v wall outlet for EV charging and a specialty circuit breaker. Easy to set up when calling in, Carl showed up on time and he was great throughout the process. Had a great experience with this company and their team. They were professional, courteous, flexible and patiently answered questioned and LISTENED. My wife and I couldn't be happier with their work. They replaced our electrical panel, reran some under spec'd wires (fire hazard) and installed recessed lights and fans in a number of rooms.

Highly highly recommend Tradesman Electric! The entire team has excellent customer service, thorough, on time and very professional. They added wiring/power for to the house so we could a wine cellar and outdoor heaters. They ran wires through house with great care and no damage. They take pride in their work and it shows! They are always on time and follow up. Couldn't be happier, no other electrician we will use.
Tradesmen resolved all issues I had with them in my last review.there was some c communication issues on my request for them to do some work for me . I helped my mother move from Chicago to Laguna and Tradesman Electric was very prompt in providing a quote. When we ordered a stackable washer/dryer we had to wait 3 months and were told that delivery would be the next day 8 times! Tradesman Electric was very understanding. I especially want to give big kudos to Reed who worked to find solutions to our electrical issues. Definitely would call them again.

Called and spoke to Tom the owner and described the job we had. I emailed images and floor plan. He said he'll get back to me with to schedule an appointment. Two day pass and no response so I emailed again. He responds that he can give a quote by Saturday and to just email plans (which I already did) and he'll quote me without coming to the job site. So again, I sent the plans. Saturday came and went. It's been a week now and no communication. I would think, especially in these times, having work would be appreciated. I'm done chasing this company for their service. Very disappointed and will not be referring this company. I can only imagine if I did hire him he wouldn't show up.
I wanted to give a big thanks to Tom and his crew for the excellent work they have done on my place as well as for my customer's homes. Their crew is extremely efficient and very professional. One of the things I respect most about Tradesman Electric is that they are very safety conscious. I had multiple contractors come up to my home and none of them brought up the safety issues that Tom and his crew discovered. Tom has also changed out many electrical panels for my customers and I've had nothing but excellent feedback from all of them.

Dennis and Kenny were incredibly helpful, reliable, and conscientious regarding our outdoor lighting project! After diagnosing the problem, they provided several options to resolve the issue and made certain we were aware of the cost, procedure to complete the project, and timeline! I had some problems with my pool equipment with the recent rains blowing out a GFI. Tom and his team got to my house within an hour of my call and had the job completed within a few hours. Just can't get that level of service these days!

What I liked the most about Tradesman electric is that Tom, the owner, got back to me right away and gave an accurate estimate that was based on reviewing my pictures and thoroughly taking the time to discuss the job on the phone. He sent Alex, a licensed electrician, and another fellow -- forgot his name -- to hardwire under-cabinet lighting and install a dimmer switch next to an existing outlet. Together they figured out exactly what had to be done and completed the job in three hours. I was very happy with their work and would hire Tradesman again.
Tom and his crew were timely, professional and competent. You really can't ask for better than that. They did a great job. All the wires in the panel were organized well, neatly trained onto each breaker and fully labeled. The new panel is a high quality GE panel. They also traced out and labeled each breaker to correspond to the outlets and rooms in my house. The crew was polite, friendly and hard working. I had several conversations with them and it was clear these are educated and professionally trained electricians, not some guy who knows electrical and works cheap. I am very satisfied; no more flickering lights and now I don't have to worry about that ancient breaker panel starting a fire.

Extremely impressed with these guys! You always get a little nervous when hiring a contractor due to horror stories and not knowing what you're going to get. I chose these guys based on having a verified certification and the amount a reviews they had (Rancho Santa Margarita location) while still having 5 stars which is also impressive. As mentioned on the other reviews, I was WOWED from the initial phone call and it didn't stop there. Tom Sheltraw showed up to my house and they obviously knew what they were doing but more than just knowing what to do... Tom went above and beyond to be thorough and to listen to our needs. He even took the time to inspect the house and offer recommendations to make sure our home was baby safe for our 2 year and new little one that we are expecting in a couple months. He was also punctual and provided updates on his expected arrival time and was able to squeeze us in on a same day appointment. We had an unusual problem with our electrical where our entire living room was losing power. Tom was able to troubleshoot and locate the problem and have it resolved in less than hour and be dead on with the initial estimate he provided me. Extremely happy with their services and will be using them for all future work as well as send them referrals

New to town, kitchen lights went out...not the bulb or fuse. Tom, the owner, set up the appointment. He was great on the phone. Not only did they get right down to diagnosing the problem when they came but they went out to find an old part that nobody would have on their truck these days and got back quickly. Top-notch. My technicians were Dennis and Reed and they were both excellent. Reed was new to the company and he was superb. These guys are electrical panel experts and made rewiring an entire home seem simple! I recently used them to re-wire an entire home and upgrade the electrical panel. The home was two prong and didn't have a proper grounding wire (VERY DANGEROUS). Tom, Joe, Ben, and a few others replaced the electrical panel, all wires, and all the outlets in record time. The home had other contractors on site during a major remodel and Tradesmen Electric were clearly the easiest to work with. From the initial phone call to project completion, these guys excelled in everything they touched. Thank you!
