Steve, Saxon and the team have given us the most genuine, professional, caring, competent service for updating a 40-year old home we recently purchased. The project has included: Landscape lighting (breathtaking), electrical car outlet, removal of old track lighting and replacement with can lights, upgrading obsolete electrical, installing electrical for a spa, etc. You name it, they do it with great pride, expertise, integrity, and fair pricing!  They go above and beyond and deliver what they promise, which is not a story we hear commonly when dealing with contractors. This experience has been such a breath of fresh air! We had to install few recessed lights in our high ceiling living room and also few power outlets in the back yard. Alex came in to review the request and provided his thoughts on what needs to be done. He was so professional in communicating and guiding us to pick the right option. We immediately signed a contract and in two days the job was done. He and Michael did an awesome work. Definitely will consider Ohagan for any future electric work.

This my third time having O'Hagan come do some work in my somewhat older townhome that I bought a little over two years ago. Last Friday around 5:30pm the power went out in my daughter's bedroom upstairs and also the adjoining hallway. I looked at the circuit box and it looked like one switch had flipped but would not stay in place when I tried to re-set it.

I called O'Hagan the next morning (Saturday)...they answered the phone right away...and they offered to come the same day. Sunday actually worked better for us so we scheduled our appointment for then.

Steve kept me informed by text on his anticipated arrival time and arrived well within the time slot window. It turns out we had met Steve on our last job when he installed three ceiling fan boxes and fans with Ben. I was very happy with their work, so was glad to see Steve again.

Steve was able to find the problem and soon had our lights working again. I also showed him some other work I was interested in having done and he gave me an estimate right there on what he could do that same day. He replaced the plugs in my daughter's room with new and installed a whole new plug (socket) in my master closet. He also switched out an older GFCI plug in the half bath.

We then discussed getting an estimate for some future work: get my garage fridge on a proper outlet that he will install, add a GFCI to a couple other locations, upgrade lighting in my downstairs coat closet that I want to turn into a pantry, and also upgrade the canned spotlights throughout the house that are not the same. He immediately sent me an estimate so I can plan for that. He even attached pictures to the receipt for work done and to the estimate for future work.

One thing I always like about O'Hagan is that they are on time and efficient but also pause to patiently listen to me and my questions. I know what the end result is that I want but I'm not always sure how to get there. I consider us a team to get the best results that are within my budget. They are always neat and clean up the work area, and I find their work to be great quality

Over the past few months the entire team came together to get the job done for a complete rewire.  They are responsive and their fees are reasonable.  Our house is finally finished and we are grateful.  Most recently Saxon came out to patiently trouble shoot the wiring in our kitchen island and things are running smoothly now.

We had some problems with outdoor lights.  Stephen and team came out and fixed the problem in about 15-30 minutes.  I've used O'Hagan Electric on 3 separate occasions and they've always come through.   It's always been an easy process.  Schedule appointment, diagnose, fix and pay.

We were having electrical outlet problems in multiple rooms, possibly due to the recent heavy storms.  Saxon came by and fixed all of the issues and updated our outlets to modern GFCI requirements since ours were a bit old.  Everything was completed quickly and runs well now.  I definitely recommend Saxon and O'Hagan electric since they're quick and professional.

Had Stephen out to trouble shoot an outlet with now power or gfi insight. He was able to figure it out after some back and fourth. Very helpful.

Off a different control box which was caput! Alex trouble shot and rewired everything and now just a flip of a switch from inside my home, and we have lights again! So happy I went with O'Hagan for what turned out to be a difficult electrical wiring project at my house.  I worked with Steve, who was fantastic.  Booking was VERY easy with their online scheduling system, and Steve showed up on time.  He was transparent with me about pricing throughout the project, did a thorough job, and patiently explained for me what he was doing so I could understand what was going on.  I'll be using O'Hagan for all my projects going forward.

TOTAL RIP OFF! Not sure where all these positive reviews come from. Our experience with O'Hagan was terrible and a waste of $49 dollars. We do NOT recommend them at all.

Steve showed up same day as requested to troubleshoot a partial power outage we had in our living room. Something that seemed to be a simple issue. Literally from the moment he walked in, he starts pointing out how EVERYTHING is wired and done incorrectly. He literally made it sound like our house is going to burn down to ashes soon if we don't listen to what he says and hire him yesterday. You know that feeling when you go in for an oil-change and the mechanic tells you you need to replace ten other parts asap otherwise your engine is going to explode without really telling you why? Yeah that feeling ...

Then he starts telling us if we were to sell our newly remodeled house in its current condition we won't be able to until we get the things he recommends fixed... which was total BS. We recently bought our house and had it inspected to its entirely including electrical wiring and panel and the inspection passed just fine.

Then he starts pulling out couple of outlets and plugs which he never screwed one back in before he left. The same person that was schooling us for an hour about safety left electrical wires open. I had to get my tools and put things back after he left. We noticed that night the second plug that he removed and put back in the wall where we normally charge our phones while watching TV is not working and it was working just fine before.. Thanks to Steve, now we have an additional plug with no power.

Then he give us an estimate with 3 options. Option #1: $391 to troubleshoot and fix partial power outage that we were having. Option #2: $3,255 to update some plugs and install some new GFCIs (they charge $60 to replace a simple plug which we found outrageously high) Option # $8,725 ... They charge bloody $5,500 to replace a panel.

Then he becomes a car dealer where he tried to push us to go with option # 2 or 3 , offering us financing and etc. My wife and I decided to go with option #1 of $391 to get the issue on hand fixed for now. After we reconfirm for now we only like to pay $391 to get power back to the walls he finally agrees to get to work. As we are getting ready for him to get started, he says hmmm yeah I'll need to troubleshoot this and it may be more than $391... WHAT THE HECK! He just quoted us for $391 and now that he was about to start fixing the problem he was asking for more money.

At that point, I decided to kindly ask him charge us the $49 and leave. I've never seen a company that give you a written quote and then verbally ask for more money.

Their prices are INSANELY HIGH. They create a sense of urgency by telling you how horrible things are and you need to pay right away to get things fixed.

We just hired a licensed electrician this morning for $80 an hour. Even if it takes 20 hours to replace a panel outside, it will cost $1600 and not $5,500.

Stay away. You've been warned.

Great electric company. Called them out to install an exhaust fan and everything went without a hitch. Called them back for a ring doorbell and really appreciated their honesty with me about it not being the right fit for my particular situation. They could have easily taken the money and did the job but instead pointed me in the right direction of what I needed that was not offered at their company. Even send me a google screenshot with providers nearby. Customer service like that is rare these days. Really appreciate this company and will be calling them for all of my electrical needs.

Hi Stephen - Nice talking with you too. Everyone I talked with was very professional and nice. Obviously, O'Hagan Electric is a reputable company and your rating reflects it. Unfortunately, it didn't happen to work for me and I lost $49.

My review was based on the fact that I was not told about the additional $350 inspection charge when I initially called. I was told there would be a $49 charge (I assumed this included an inspection) and was told nothing about an inspection fee. The renter said the technician arrived flipped the switch that didn't work and called for approval on the $350 inspection fee.

Fortunately, the renter of the property checked the breaker and found the switch was off. This entire thing would not have been an issue and avoided had the breaker been checked by the technician.

I contacted O'Hagen Electric via Yelp along with a few other electricians since my A/C was out and I needed someone to take a look after the HVAC tech could only do so much. Ben arrived towards the later part of the time window I was given but he was super nice and listened to the issue at hand. A/C condenser wasn't getting enough power to run so he had to check the electrical wiring to make sure there was power. He figured out that the power coming from the house to the A/C was compromised and recommended running a new line from the outside box to my A/C condenser. I was given pricing up front and we agreed to get it done same day. Outside wiring in common areas is an HOA issue so I authorized the work so that I could get reimbursed. I'm not sure the HOA will approve it but having A/C is better than not. The work was completed within 2 hours and my A/C is now running again. Thanks to Ben and O'Hagen Electric.

I had O'Hagan out to my rental property to fix a problem with the wall outlets. They charged there $49 service charge. They couldn't find the problem. Then sent a estimate for almost 5 grand. I had a buddies electrician friend come out he found the problem in 5-10 mins. these guys are con artists I would not recommend using them.

Just spoke with Mike at O'Hagan and he was fantastic! He saved me from having to hire an electrician by asking me questions and having me try a few things first and it turns out I don't need any one to come out! I'll be using them for sure in the future!

The $49 was totally worth the risk to assess the work required and offered options. Hired them to do the job and they were prompt, communicated well, were very accommodating and flexible to make changes on the fly, and came in at a great price.

We hired O'Hagan Electric to install recessed lights.  They encountered some obstacles during installation but worked past them.  Would highly recommend them for your electrical needs.

Our outlets were tripped, and I needed to fix them ASAP. Tristynn and Mike were excellent and very knowledgeable. They educated me about the issues that happened and future projects and were considerate of the price for the quote as well. If you want to get your electrical work done correctly to prevent any incidents rather than an easy and quick solution, O'Hagan could be your place.

Stephen and his crew did an amazing job upgrading our electrical panel. He organized all the sub contractors, dealt with the gas company to relocate our gas meter, hired a crew to do the trench work and was professional and communicative throughout the entire process that took about five months...yes, you'll have to have patience, inspection approvals from the city can take a while.

OHagan electric upgraded our main electrical panel to a 225 amp Square D panel to do so they had to bring in new main wires from the front of the house and also move our gas meter. OHagan Electric organized all of the trenching and permits/inspection with the city and also electrical provider which was SDG&E. They also had good referrals for other trades including the plumbers.

Highly recommend their services!!!

We are nearing completion of a kitchen renovation and have had quality and technical issues with the work our General Contractor has completed. Outlets were moved by his sub to accommodate new appliances and being skeptical and nervous we decided to have it inspected. I called O'Hagan Electric and spoke with Mike who was so helpful and genuine. I have been a customer of Steve's for many years.  We had an issue with our High Voltage EV outlet and he was able to come out for a last minute visit to resolve our problem.  We needed a special part for job and Steve was able to find it to complete the job within a few hours.  Definitely recommend O Hagan and will continue to have them on speed dial for my electrical needs.

Simply outstanding! An outlet was literally melting, we contacted O'Hagan and Stephen walked us through things to do (turn off breaker, etc) while we was shifting his schedule around so he could come to our house. He was there within an hour. I can't say enough positive things about him. He was able to resolve the issue quickly and we'll definitely be calling him and his team back. So grateful that he was working on a Sunday, was so responsive and was also very knowledgeable explaining things along the way.

I spoke with the owner Stephen on the phone. He took his time and was very thorough when answering my questions. I did not feel pressured or rushed. Before I even committed to the job, he voluntarily spent his own time looking into an issue I currently had with a previous electric company I was dealing with. Stephen did this without expecting anything in return. Service like this is a rarity these days.
The scheduling was easy and the communication was excellent. The installation was clean and professional. The inspector even mentioned that the job was clean and professional. So the bottom line is that I highly recommend O'Hagan Electric.

I had a really tacky huge wooden box on my ceiling housing the worst elementary school fluorescent lighting that I needed removed and replaced with a modern light/fan. I contacted O'Hagan and they were courteous, prompt, timely and reasonably priced. Ben did a great job and was able to remove the box immediately and came back to remove and replace the lighting. He was knowledgeable, efficient, respectful and kind. Everything went so smoothly, I couldn't have asked for better. Thank you O'Hagan!

Today was my first time using O'Hagan Electric. From the start, Ben communicated with me promptly that he was on his way, confirming our scheduled start time. My spouse and I recently moved into a new home, and we were blessed with a plethora of electrical problems. Despite having a handful of lighting challenges to troubleshoot, Ben was knowledgeable, honest, and shared details on all of them, all the while giving me options to decide which one would be the best for me. Alex arrived on time and was very friendly. We established what needed to be done. He was replacing a GFCI outlet in my bathroom and discovered that during my bath remodel (different company) they had wired it wrong. After correcting that he installed a new outlet in my hallway. Alex will be returning to put lighting in our closet. We were very happy with his work and his great attitude.

This is the third group coming to fix our electric outlets on the second floor in an old house. The first handyman came and saying he could not fix. Second group spent hours and climbed up to the roof, still not able to fix. My husband found Hagan electric on website with very good reviews. He came and fixed the problem in 10 minutes. Worked with Ben today to get a lighting issue in our garage fixed. Ben was professional, attentive to me even through my rambling, and transparent about repair options from the get-go. After testing a couple of different problem sources, he fixed the lighting quickly, educated us about options for the future, and went on his way.

What we appreciated most were Ben's patience and honesty. We aren't versed in electrical issues and so we automatically think any problem that arises is associated with our very old electrical panel. While we've had electricians in the past then try to talk us into costly replacements, Ben assured us that the panel was not the source of our current problem, which he fixed at their tiered rate system's lowest rate. He then offered us some advice for our kitchen area instead of forcing another quote.  

All in all, we feel that Ben thoroughly discussed options with us, was up front about pricing, and also gave us the most affordable options without being pushy and intrusive or making us feel ashamed about our admittedly outdated set-up. We know from experience that this isn't always the case.

Had problem with some of the outlets in the kitchen stopped working. As luck would have it - fridge was using one of those affected outlets.

Placed early morning yelp request to several companies and the first one was O'Hagan Electric. Stephen and Anthony promptly came over, identified the problem, fixed it and did complete check around the house. Previous contractor has certainly used some shortcuts and missed quite a few issues. Stephen and Anthony fixed immediate issues and we are back in business.

Also arranged some other  work with these guys. Helpful, pleasant, knowledgeable people - highly recommend them!

Andrei came today to fix my doorbell and help install my new ring.  He was so polite and patient and also helped me order additional accessories on Amazon.  I definitely will use the company again and request Andrei!

We suffered a partial power outage, and O'Hagan came out and fixed it.  It was caused most likely by over usage on a certain line. Service was courteous clean professional and complete  And most importantly, it solved the problem.  O'Hagan will be our go-to Electric company from now on.

I hired a well reviewed handyman in our area for a kitchen remodel, as I figured he would be able to tackle on both electrical and plumbing work for me.  Afterwards my husband noticed the handyman did not put the electrical box to code. Lesson learned!!  Have a licensed professional do the job, even though I thought it was an easy job.  DAN came out and he was AWESOME!!!!  He  but also found a cost effective way to move the main electrical box.  A few days later, we realized another issue with the job the handyman did and also needed a 220v box moved to accommodate our new wall oven.  Again, Dan came out and fixed and moved our issues. DAN is the man!!

Thank you for the professionalism, the prompt timing, being able to problem solve a time-sensitive project, and most of all doing the work with a great attitude and smile!!!

Kyle was very professional, helped with a minor issue but also trouble shot a couple of other things. I'll definitely have him back for some upgrades that are needed.

We needed to relocate and update a closet light and add a switch to create a 3-way switch. We wanted to also replace and existing outdated ceiling light with a new one that would produce better, even light in the closet. The goal was to also keep it clean, not create a dusty sheetrock mess. O'Hagan came in with a competitive bid and a timeline that was very prompt and got it done quickly and very clean work.

I rarely post reviews but I felt in this case it was warranted. We rent an older home here in Mission Viejo and one day we smelled something burning when our Christmas tree lights were on. We decided to leave the lights off to be safe. A couple of days later the lights for our dining room and kitchen refused to turn on. Steven and Tristan came over our house to investigate. They were both extremely professional and quickly diagnosed the issue with a burnt out outlet which caused the problems. They let us know from the beginning that if the repair costs exceeded the service fee that they would let us know which they did. They resolved the issue quickly and were very pleasant to work with. We are new to Mission Viejo and finding good professionals has been difficult. I am glad that we found O'Hagan Electric and can depend on them if any future needs pop up.

Stephen, thank you for your response and the opportunity to shed more light on what happened at my client, Emily's, in Aliso Viejo.  She was shocked and disgusted by your puerile and unprofessional conduct.  As was I, never had I experienced something like that in 20+yrs.  After installing the lone light fixture at the wrong height, and cutting a wire to other plugs in the attic, I asked that you come back and fix your mistakes.  You agreed, and when I stood there in the bathroom supervising (at her request), you stormed downstairs to complain to her that I was doing my job as a General Contractor.

I reluctantly agreed, after expressing displeasure at the exorbitant price of $550 for a single light fixture, because you were already there and I did not want to delay the job further.  Your mistake(s) had already set us back a few days.  

It is common for electricians to price based on labor and material.  In fact, I had Anchor Electric come and do the work properly and professionally, they even added an outlet inside the vanity for a total of $300.  Their work comes with the same guarantee and warranty as every other licensed electrician is bound to by the CSLB.  Your much higher price pads your wallet, and provided a lower standard of workmanship - the opposite of your claim.

You obviously agreed since you sent me a same-day, full refund of $550.  

One last thing, the termination of our working relationship has everything to do with your unprofessional conduct, not with changing the scope of work on jobs.  You said that we could only work together again if your guys could speak directly with my clients, and I refused.  I described in detail that construction jobs are led by the prime contractor, and that subcontractors like electricians, are hired and supervised by the GC.  Not the other way around, because of potential miscommunication.

I have been honest and provided your texts about offering money to remove my review.  The above is more accurate information about the experience that day.  I hope this is a learning experience for you, and that you can run your business like Rob at Anchor Electric.

If I had to use 3 words to describe Stephen and his team, they would be skilled, professional, and punctual. I wanted to have installed 3 electrical ground wires for my backyard and courtyard. Stephen went above and beyond the call of duty--the consult was thorough and estimate very reasonable. As soon as the offer was accepted, Stephen and Alex got right down to it and delivered in a timely manner. They also made sure all ground wiring was installed in compliance with all city codes. In order to achieve that, Stephen hired his own concrete contractor so I didn't have to go out looking for one. The whole process was smooth, efficient, and swift.
I would definitely recommend Stephen and certainly reach out to him again for future projects.

Can't thank OHagan Electric enough! We've been waiting over 10 months for our new fridge to arrive and (of course) it couldn't be installed because the electrical outlets were in the wrong place. Mike had someone out within a few days to take care of everything! Stephen was efficient, was able to move everything in about an hour or so and we were back on track for our install. Stephen also helped us identify another issue that had been plaguing us for awhile and was able to get us a quote same day so we could have them come out at a later date to fix it. Can't thank them enough!

Saxon came quickly to fix a horrendous house wide flickering of our lights and to check our ground wire after a cable tech disengaged it. Prompt, professional, friendly he kept me in the loop as to what he was doing. When the project became bigger the boss himself Steven came out to assist. My parent's house in OC went totally crazy when some of the circuit breakers were burned out which knocked out the kitchen.  So I called O'Hagan for help.  Andrei showed up within like 30 minutes after I got off the phone with the lady, he also texted me before he arrived.  Andrei was professional, informative, and courteous.  Not only did he fix up everything, but Andrei also found extra problems with the wiring, and he explained to my elderly parents thoroughly with a detailed diagram then proceeded to fix that up as well.  We are very happy with the service and work.  Five stars, two thumbs up, and totally recommended!  

PS: My father is diabetic and he has his insulin medicine in the refrigerator, so he was so happy and grateful that O'Hagan could send Andrei out that fast!!!

I've used them twice and have been very pleased each time. I had prior experience working with electricians in commercial buildings in Los Angeles, which always seemed to be overpriced with poor customer service. I have found the workers at O'Hagan to be skilled, pleasant and accommodating, from the folks manning the phones in the office to the workers that have come out to the house. They're punctual, thorough and informative. I feel that their prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend O'Hagan and will definitely be calling on them again soon for additional projects.

O'Hagan Electric is a top-notch firm who I highly recommend.  My electrical issue turned out more problematic than I anticipated but Ben (the electrician) fixed everything after much effort on his part.  The price was very reasonable too.  I highly recommend them and their follow-up and punctuality is the best I've ever experienced.   They will immediately get my phone call should I ever have any other unknown electrical issues or future electrical improvements.

I saw good reviews on Nextdoor so I reached out to O'Hagan Electric to have 2 ceiling fans installed.  Andrei and Alex arrived on time and were very polite and professional.  They inspected all the outlets and the breakers which was unexpected but glad they offer that service.  I called O'Hagan a couple days later due to some unusual noise from newly installed fans and an issue with the remote control.  They scheduled me in right away, came out and fixed the problems. No more unusual noise.  I also like that they text as they are heading over. Steve (owner), Andrei, Alex and the front desk staff were all great to work with.

We need some repair on landscaping lights in the backyard. Steve is very responsive when we contacted him. Saxon, technician had given us his evaluation after examining the old lights. He is very honest with his findings and suggestions. Unfortunately we didn't use his service since it would be a big job tearing up the concrete in the backyard which Saxon didn't suggest to do it. He suggested us an alternative which is less evasive. We will definitely use his service in the future.

Called in and she took several mins over the phone and took down all my info to let me know there is a charge of fourth some dollars for them to come in and evaluate the project. That should have been said before taking down all my info. Other companies do the same thing free of charge, now I know why you guys didn't provide a quote and Yelp. I don't appreciate your business taking my information.

I needed two electric outlets added to my bathrooms for bidets and they quoted me $10 through Yelp (attached picture).

When I called them for more details the quote and they quoted me a very high price compared to other electricians. When I told him this he said it was just an estimate and needed more pictures.

He asked if I was going to book with them I said no. He started raising his voice and barraged me.

I got the job done with Johnny Electric, who gave me a great deal, two outlets for $250 and if I paid in cash he gave me a 10% discount. The two gentlemen that showed up to do the service were very nice and wore PPE and kept a social distance. They finished within an hour and did a great job where no dry wall needed to be fixed.

Steve and Andrei came out to run three 220 V lines at my home. Of all the estimates I got, Steve's came in the cheapest, and the work they performed was top-notch. Steve and Andrei encouraged me to ask any questions when they working, and they were conscientious, and courteous.

I had Andrei come out the next day to clean up some slapdash wiring my contractor had left after a remodel. Andrei was right on time and fixed everything up with no fuss.

Would definitely recommend them.

The stay at home order for Covid19 has us using more electricity, while working from home. I called O'Hagan Electric guys, to see if they can fix an electrical socket that I had blown due to over use of our microwave. They were quick to respond and very professional on the phone. They also assured me, they are taking every precaution to make sure we are safe as well as their technician who would be coming out. My tech. was Dan. He was dressed professionally with the company logo so I knew who was at my door. He had a mask, gloves and made sure to keep social distant. Everything turned out well and my plug was back to working! Thank you O'Hagan for being safe, polite & professional! I will definitely be using them for all my electrical needs! God Bless.

We lost partial electricity (3 outlets) about a month ago in our kitchen and have been using extension cords to run our oven and microwave. Steve was quick with communication and scheduling an appointment time. The initial estimate to diagnose our issue was fair! Both he and Dan spent more than 4 hours figuring out our issue (3 electrical outlets had been previously hidden by handy-man behind cabinetry/granite countertop). The final hidden outlet was accessed outside through the stucco, and our granite was SAVED! We were so pleased to get our electricity back and with their desire to FIND our problem, no matter how long it took, we brought them back several days later to install canned lighting and a dining room electrical outlet in the ceiling for future lighting.

If you're looking for fair, professional, and knowledgable electricians, I'd look no farther than O'Hagan!!
