Update 10/02/19: I received a call from Chuck on 9/26 after he had read the below details of my experience. He was very understanding and genuinely apologetic and embarrassed for the situation. Based on our conversation, I was happy to move forward with one of the work estimates, and it was promptly scheduled by Rebecca/Jenna for today, 10/02. Cody returned with Dominiq (sorry if not spelled correctly) on time again, and they did an excellent job recessing two gas outlets and removing the line to a 30+ year old BBQ outlet. They worked quickly, organized, kept the areas clean, and overall I'm very pleased with the results. The quality of what Pride Plumbing does is apparent with the work they did for me and in the other reviews, and they are well redeemed from the original situation. I will be glad to call on them again for additional work, and now do recommend their service for others.
Original 09/22/19: My experience with Pride Plumbing's good impression by the employees was unfortunately overshadowed by poor management. I submitted a request for quote on Sept 2nd, and received a response from Jenna the office manage the following day. She arranged a visit on Friday 6th, and Cody promptly arrived just prior to the scheduled window. Cody was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and made additional sensible recommendations I was happy to have as additional quotes. The following Monday (9th) afternoon, I sent an email to Jenna asking for the approximate timeframe of the estimates. She again responded shortly after that Cody had sent the information that morning, and the quotes should be prepared and sent the next morning, apologizing for the delay.
The next day came and went, as did Wednesday, Thursday, and on Friday 13th I called about 11:30am to speak with Jenna. Rebecca answered, and after I asked to speak with Jenna regarding the pending quotes, she placed me on hold and returned shortly after to let me know they would be sent in a few moments. I asked regarding the delay, and she said it was in the hands of their Operations Manager Derrick. I asked to speak with Derrick and a few moments later was connected.
I expressed my disappointment of having not received the quote after a week, of which I had been informed I would see days earlier. Derrick explained all quotes needed to be reviewed by him (as though that was reason enough), and immediately became defensive with what he felt were justifiable reasons for the delay (they were not). Not happy Derrick seemed to be making excuses rather than take responsibility, I decided to read him his own comments I had just read on Yelp from a review a month earlier (7/29 by Dustin B.) with a similar incident, where Derrick had responded (8/2) to the review, that it had brought to light a few issues within our practices and procedures . . . We will be sure not to let these things slip through the cracks again! Derrick again attempted to explain that was a different situation, and that I would have received my quotes. I told Derrick that was easy to say after I had called to receive them, and I did not appreciate his defensive responses. From a customer's perspective, I told him there was no difference with the issue at hand. I also told him I took the time to contact Pride Plumbing directly rather than express my frustration publicly first. He then backed off, apologized, and asked what he could do. I told him I was pleased with the service up to that point, and said I would review the quotes with hopes to do business. I then asked who the General Manager was, and Derrick said it was him. I told him I thought he was the Operations Manager (as was told and how he signed the Yelp response), but he said he was in charge. I asked who the owner was, and he said it was Chuck. I asked that he have Chuck contact me, and he said he would. Before ending the call, I emphasized Derrick not to make the mistake of failing to ask Chuck to call me.
Whether Derrick did or did not inform Chuck to contact me, or at least follow-up to see that he did, another week passed without any contact, other than a follow-up email from Rebecca on Thursday (19th) for the quotes. I think the quotes were reasonable, and based on reviews by those who have had work completed, most had positive experiences. But for the poor follow-through by management, I still would have been glad to do business with Pride Plumbing, had I been contacted as requested. Much like the prior review referenced above, it's unfortunate the good work by some ended in an easily avoidable poor experience.
