Established in 2011.
I entered the plumbing Trade @ age of 17, apprenticed for 3 years, although I was doing whole house re-pipe's by myself after 3 months into trade. I worked for a Primer plumbing company in Coronado for 7 years. starting as an apprentice and leaving a Journey man plumber. I then participated in many builds the Lemon Grove and National City Walmart remodels to superstores and San Diego port building construction. I always had ambition of starting my own business as an apprentice. I would ride my bike around the city with tools in back ward and buckets on my handle bars doing jobs all around San Diego County taking city transit also. I am a ONE person crew and like it this way, this does unfortunately not allow me to return every call. So please don't take it personal if I don't reply, It's because I am swamped.

Such an amazing work from Jay! First time working with him.
Called him up with a garbage disposal issue. He squeezed me in and was here fast. He was so helpful, patient and professional. Had bad experiences with other plumber charging me outrageous amounts for jobs that took less time and effort than what Jay did today. His price was honestly very fair and I think my problem was even more complicated than he expected but kept his word and price. THANkS jay! You'll be hearing from me if I ever have any issues again!

Jay, Jay - he's our man, if he can't do it, no one can! Can't say enough good things about Jay. My husband and I consider him a hero. He came the same day I called him and took on a plumbing job and charged me half the price that it would take for another plumbing company to do the same job. He's very easygoing, provides fair rates, and is just overall a good guy. We're moving up to Oceanside and I know it will be hard to get a plumber half as decent as Jay. I would definitely recommend him for your plumbing needs!

I called this morning about a leaky hose bib that had suddenly started gushing water into my back yard and he was over within a half hour of the call ready to work.  He had it fixed in about 10 minutes for just a little over half the price I had paid another less agreeable company last month.  The other company's worker ticked me off so I didn't have them do both at that time.  Gabriel was courteous, competent and affordable.  I'm going to have him put in a new hot water heater in a couple of months.

Being one of the bigger names in plumbing, I called these guys first when I had a clogged kitchen sink. Make sure you tell them you just need an estimate first, and they'll send someone to check out your problem. This will not cost you. The plumber guy came and checked out my sink. He was friendly and professional. Then quoted me $160 to clear my clogged sink.. FOLKS, that is expensive to just clear a drain.

I needed a plumber quick to fix the piping under the kitchen sink in my rental property. I did what I always do and looked up reviews for local plumbers in San Diego. Accolade Plumbing was the only company I found that had ZERO negative reviews. And not only were there no negative reviews but all the ratings were FIVE STARS! So I took a chance on it because, as I said before, I needed a plumber quick. I called the number well past sunset and Gabe answered. He was professional and polite. I set up a time to meet him at our property. He was more punctual than I was and very graceful about that. He fixed the piping in less than 45 minutes and charged me a very reasonable price. My tenants were back up and running with a functional kitchen sink again and pleased it took less than a day. I will definitely be calling Gabe in the future when I need a plumber again.

Gabe was reasonably priced and very knowledgable.  He was available to come to my house right away and fixed my main drain line stop quickly.  He also had great plumbing advice on unrelated plumbing issues at my home.  I highly recommend his services.

Best plumber I've ever dealt with.  He's a grateful, professional, to-the-point kind of guy.  He fixed our issue and charged a completely reasonable cost.  I'll be keeping his number handy.  And Trixie doesn't hurt either.

Right price, fixed right. Had a leak and Jay got here in just a few minutes. Dude was fast! And everything he did was done with the utmost professionalism. I have never had a better experience with a plumber. I will be calling Jay whenever I have a problem from now on!

I called Accolade and they said they will call back but never did. I left 5 text messages and 4 voicemails then 2 days after they finally texted back. I already had a different plumber fix my issue.

I finally had to quit ignoring the evidence of a leak in my bathroom.  Financial fears had me paralized, but after reading all the positive reviews for Gabriel I decided to move forward.  I am so glad I did, and that I called Gabriel.  He was such a refreshing change from the majority of contractors I have worked with in the past.  He found the problem promptly; fixed it, and best of all, gave me recommendations to resolve my mold problem (that I have to admit was created from my delaying the repairs).  His suggestions were designed so I wouldn't have to take out a second mortgage!  

I will no longer fear calling a plumber. When you find someone with genuine integrity and all the other ingredients needed in an excellent plumber; like Gabriel, it makes it an easy call.

Best plumber in San Diego!! I found his info on Yelp, and saw all of the reviews, so I called him. He knows what he's doing, he knows what he's talking about. He'll let you watch him to maybe figure out how to fix it yourself later, or you can just walk away and let him deal with it. He's always been on time, and will come to your house ASAP. He's pretty fast too. I don't think he's ever been at my house for more than an hour. He brings his dog, Trixie along, who is adorable, by the way. He was ok with my animals coming up to him while he was working, which in itself is worth 5 stars. It can be difficult finding house maintenance workers that aren't afraid of animals. This is the company though, I'm never calling a different plumber as long as I'm in San Diego.

We just moved to a new house, and we needed to get a new kitchen faucet and water filtration system installed. I called Gabriel this morning and he happened to be on a call in University City. He and his super-cool dog were at my house within a couple of hours and he jumped right into the job. Gabriel removed the gnarly old faucet, installed the awesome new one, and got the filter system hooked up no muss no fuss. I checked out the work afterward -- no leaks, and his plumbing was impeccably done, really gorgeous work. And on top of that, the price was right where I was hoping it would be.

Gabriel deserves all these 5-star reviews. He's a very talented plumber and just a great guy. If I ever need plumbing services in the future, I won't bother calling ANYONE else. Gabriel and Accolade Plumbing are #1 in San Diego!

It was 10am on Tuesday and I get a call from my tenant, our toilet tank has a huge crack in it and is leaking all over the floor. I rush home from work to assess the situation. As we all know when you work full time your time off is valuable. Plus I had to get a new toilet installed ASAP otherwise I would have to find an alternate place for my tenant to stay that evening.

That's when I called Gabriel Jay. I left a message and he returned my call within minutes. I was in luck! Lucky for me he was down the street and had just finished another job. In less than 10 minutes he was at my condo and we were headed to Home Depot to select a new toilet. I purchased it, and he was able to take it straight to my house and swap out the old toilet for the new one. Meanwhile I was able to head straight back to work. That night my tenant was able to come home to a brand new shiny toilet.

I'm so glad Gabriel was right there when I needed him. I'm not quite sure what I would have done without him. I highly recommend and trust him. I will definitely be calling him for any future plumbing needs!

Jay was the truth..... Solved my problem without spilling any water. He breaks down the problem scientifically and gives you the confidence you are dealing with a professional. I told Jay this was the best plumbing experience ever. I felt privileged to have him fix my drain.

Highly recommend Accolade Plumbing for Jay's prompt, friendly and efficient service.  My 90+ year old craftsman has aged and stubborn plumbing issues and Jay diligently worked to resolve the complex leaks.  He even crawled under my house thru a tiny, tiny crawl space to ensure he thoroughly eliminated all possible leaks outlets.  When the next day, the City's lack of promptness to fix a leak that created water pressure issues on my property, Jay came back on Sunday morning to ensure all plumbing issues were resolved.  Jay is professional, honest and offers cost efficient plumbing solutions and I would definately call Jay again.  I can't forget to say how much I adore his co-pilot Trixie who is such a sweetheart and helped tire out my doggie.

Gabriel has been my plumber for more than 2 years.

Decided to call Gabriel after reading the reviews here and I'm glad i did.  I was doing a remodel and needed a number of old angle stops replaced, faucet adds and replacements. He worked on both my shower replacements as well. All his work was great and very professional.  I had a few leaks from old pipes and shower carriages following the remodel unrelated to his work, but he still came out right away and helped fix them.  I called a lot of different businesses throughout my remodel process, the quality, care, fairness, and friendliness of Accolade Plumbing topped them all.

Our garbage disposal went out, and my husband was going to call in the morning, but I needed it fixed right away, so I went on yelp and looked for a Mission Valley plumber that had 5 stars, and Accolade came right up!  I called and Gabe answered the phone right away and was at my house within 30 minutes.  He fixed the problem within a few minutes and before leaving even showed us how to clean our sink/garbage disposal and did it for us; and he taught my husband how to fix the problem so we don't have to call him next time!  What a great, honest guy!  Call him, he'll get the job done :)

Once again... Yelp DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!

After weeks of trying to track down my regular plumber to schedule a fix for my leaking shower faucet, and not hearing back, I turned to my trusted partner, Yelp. My trusted Yelpers led me to Accolade... and to, Jay. THANK YOU!

Contacted Jay on a Thursday, sent him pics of my leaking faucet and the replacement kit I bought (on recommendation of my ex-regular plumber - we are now broken-up). Within a few minutes, he texted me back an estimate and said he could schedule me for Saturday!

He just left... Jay was super professional, respectful (HE insisted on taking off his shoes before coming into my home - nothing I require of anyone!!!), explained the situation and brought a creative solution (using some of his parts, the some of the parts I purchased). And... he did it in the most economical way! He was also super sweet to my elderly pug who just wanted to follow him around everywhere. :)  

He just finished up the job. Shower faucet works again - so excited!!! No parts left behind. No mess to clean up. And, all for less than what I anticipated it would cost!  Its almost like I was just visited by the plumber fairy - he is just THAT good!

Highly recommend! Would give 10+ stars if I could!!! Thank you fellow Yelpers!

We had some concerns about potential root intrusion in our soon-to-be first home, and our realtor recommended Gabriel, and we're so thankful that she did! He arrived early and walked us through the process, even showing us how the plumbing was done by a previous contractor in our crawlspace. He was extremely professional, courteous and helpful, alleviating our concerns about the intrusions (luckily there were none), and going out of his way to show us how our line connected to the main city line, so we knew where things were in case of any future issues. Without a doubt we'll be calling him if anything goes wrong, as we know that he'll get it fixed the right way!

After seeing all the great Yelp reviews, I was disappointed by the service received.  He was polite, but the quality of his work was disappointing.  He had trouble diagnosing the problem, and there was no attention to detail.

After finding a puddle in our garage and wet carpet in our spare bedroom late one night, I was hesitant to find a plumber based solely on Yelp reviews. However...

My husband called Gabe early the next morning and Gabe got to our house within an hour or so. He's very nice, very affordable, and very quick at getting the job done. As a young(er) homeowner, it's been my experience that most repair folk talk down to me and feel the need to school me on whatever is needing repair. Gabe answered my questions, was really respectful, and explained that the pipes in our house are just getting to the age where leaks will spring up unannounced.

Last night's leak is taking a chunk out of my pocketbook (drywall repair/replacement, etc.) but I'm saving Gabe's number so that I can have him come back and fix up a few things when I've got the extra cash.

I've used Gabe's services multiple times.  Water heater R&R, shut off valve replacement, outdoor shower fix, tub and kitchen sink repair.  In all cases, he's been responsive, on time, courteous, reliable and affordable.  He knows his business well and shares knowledge freely.  I've learned some practical plumbing knowledge from Gabe.  He's my go to plumber and I'd recommend him to the best of my friends.  Trust the reviews.  Gabe is the real deal!

Jay is excellent! My water heater hose ruptured and I called numerous plumbing companies but they all gave me the run around that they were too booked and didn't have availability until next week.  I called Accolade and told Jay my problem.  Although he was extremely busy, he showed up to my house within an hour diagnosed that it was a ruptured hose and fixed it within minutes. Needless to say, we will be using Jay again for any of our plumbing issues!

I had a serious leak from the tub faucet. Placed a call to accolade plumbing and quickly received a response. Arranged an appointment for the next morning. Gabriel arrived right on time. Was very professional ad worked quickly to resolve the problem. He was very professional and the charge was very fair. I signed up for a yelp account so I can write a 5-star review for this man. Like all the reviews below, Jay (Gabriel) deserves a 5+ star reviews. My shower drain was back-up and he came in on the same day to check it out. He tried to run the line to open up the clot however it was unsuccessful and his equipment got damage as well. He simply charged a small fee for his damaged equipment but did not charge any other show up fee like the big company does. He explained the problem in details and proposed a few possible solutions to get this problem fixed. He helped us minimized the cost with an efficient resolution. I am so grateful that I found him via all the good yelp reviews. This man is honest, efficient and he truly cares about getting your problems fixed. If you are looking for a plumber in the San DIego area, give him a call, you would not be disappointed!

I'd lost my faith in the repair service industry until Jay from Accolade Plumbing came to fix a problem.

Sowed up with the right parts taking time on his own to get a special part.  He figured it out from a picture I'd texted him.

Incredible service. Reliable. Awesome experience.
Friday afternoon we had a plumbing problem, toilet clogged and a house full of guests. Called local drain clearing company. They came and said the job was bigger than they could handle. We called Accolade and described the problem to Jay. We also noticed a leak under kitch sink. Jay assessed the situation. Clearly outlined his recommendation for repairs. We agreed to his fair price. We told him we had a compressed window of time to make birthday dinner reservation. He assured us he could complete the job within the 2 hour window we had available. He delivered. He exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend him and will save his number. He will be the first person we will call if we need help again in the future.

Jay/Gabriel is professional, informative, and experienced. The communication is great and he is extremely polite. He is responsive and knew exactly what is needed. This is the 2nd time he came out. The garbage disposal was repaired in a professional manner. He also showed us how to maintain the unit and what to do with minor hiccups when they occur.

The first time was a clog in the mainline due to root growth in the pipes. He used his heavy duty snake to clear it.

Also, Trixie sure is awesome to be around.

While visiting family in San Diego, my 3 year dropped a miniature tube of Play Doh down the toilet. I'm sure we won't be invited back anytime soon! We called one plumber and they refused to provide an estimate over the phone. The landlord suggested Accolade Plumbing. Jay provided us a basic cost to snake the toilet immediately. An hour later he showed up. He was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and efficient. After recovering the piece, Jay also addressed a few other minor issues. We would highly recommend his services.

I was in need of a plumber for a leaking shower/bathtub and decided to look on yelp.  I was so impressed with all the  5 star reviews for Accolade Plumbing.  I called them on Monday morning and left a message that I saw their great reviews on yelp and would like to hire them to fix the leak.  It is now Thurs morning and I have never recieved a call back.  Sorry but this is not 5 star so wanted to give my honest review for anyone looking for a plumber.  This morning called another company who had almost as good of reviews on yelp.  They made an appointment to come out tomorrow morning.

One of our 14 year old water heater tanks started leaking on Labor Day. Frantically we managed the crisis with the help of caring neighbors. (Thank you, Fred & Sam) Found Accolade on Yelp and called Gabriel for a service appointment.  He arrived promptly, carefully examined the leaking tank, asked a few questions and advised us NOT to get a new one. The reason: one 40-gallon tank is plenty for 4 people. He removed the leaked tank and reconnected the functional tank to the water system. Parts were reused to save money and landfill without us asking. The entire job costed hundreds less than expected ($167.50 vs $900). He even took time to fix our central vacuum system for free. Gabriel treats customers and his job with respect. We have found The Plumber. BTW, he doesn't charge extra on weekends or holidays.

I called about a garbage disposal repair and Jay was super helpful.  He said he probably wouldn't need to come out and gave me instructions for free over the phone on how to dislodge whatever was in the disposal.  I'll definitely call him again for any plumbing issues.

Amazing service! Jay and Accolade Plumbing was my property manager's plumbing company of choice while my wife and I were renting our house out and now that we have moved back into our house, he is ours as well! Had an issue with our pilot light on our water heater in the evening and Jay stopped by short notice to fix it in addition to showing me how to do it properly myself in case it happened again. Good pricing and great customer service! Would highly recommend!

I would recommend Gabe with 2 thumbs up.  No extra charge for Holiday, even New Year's Day. He arrived as promised and was very polite. Found the leak in less than 30 minutes and proceeded to fix the issue. The whole job took less than 1.5 hours. Even took the time to explain what he was doing. I would definitely use Gabe again!

Found Jay and Accolade Plumbing here on Yelp with great reviews.  The reviews were accurate.  Jay scheduled quickly, was on time, very nice and professional. Got the job done within the time frame and cost of  he quoted initially over the phone (unlike an other company that I spoke to before him which came out and estimated three times as much).   I was happy to use his services and plan to again if needed.

Jay came to us as a recommendation from a friend, and he was great!  He fixed some mistakes left from a previous handyman...rotated sink faucet, repaired sink stopper & fixed a bathroom sink leak.  He was on time & his fee was very fair. He did not upcharge or upsell services.  Bonus: he has an adorable dog that made an appearance, whom my kids loved!!  Hope we don't have any plumbing problems anytime soon, but when we do - we will definitely call Jay with Accolade.

It seems a bit redundant but I was one of those skeptics who thought all these reviews and the 5 star ratings had to be too good to be true or someone paying off Yelp.  However, with no better options I decided to go for it.

My kitchen sink had been leaking and despite workarounds of eating out and using the bathroom sink, I realized it finally needed to be fixed.  After a terrible do-it-yourself friend attempt at fixing the pipes I finally called Jay on Saturday saying it was not an emergency.  He got right back to me and let me know that Saturdays are typically only emergencies, which I was fine with I just wanted to get something on the books.  He was busy and asked me to call in a couple of hours.  Because I got busy I didn't end up calling back until later Monday and left a message.  He got back to me first thing Tuesday and when my schedule allowed me to finally call him back at 3 he said he could be over by 4:30.  I tried to explain that would be a bit early for me, but I'd be happy to wait and schedule for a different day during the week to make it early.  Jay stopped me and told me he'd put me off and that even if it took him coming at 9pm he was going to fix my sink today.  I was certainly impressed.  And he absolutely did not put me off, it's a business and I heard back in under 24 each time, perfectly reasonable considering I clearly stated it was not an emergency.

As for the service, he arrived promptly when he said he would and gave a very accurate assessment and was absurdly polite and left things immaculate.  Additionally, the price was completely reasonable and he even lowballed himself on labor.  Hopefully I won't need to use him again for a while, but will 100% use Accolade for any future plumbing needs.

I've used Gabe for several plumbing jobs around my house. He responds quickly, is quite pleasant, and does good work. Normally I would give Accolade a 4 or 5 star rating without a second thought.

I've got kind of mixed feelings now. Several months ago my gas hot water started leaking so I called Gabe. He was here quickly, removed the old water heater and replaced it with one he supplied. Looks like quality work too. The problem is he charged $1,500 for this.  Looking into it after the fact, that seems  to be a fair bit above what others have paid for the same thing. I don't fault Gabe, since he can charge what he wants. I didn't get other quotes because I just wanted things fixed, and that's on me. But I will probably think twice before I call him with the next problem.

I switched over from Absolute Plumbing to Accolade Plumbing and I'm so grateful I found them.

Gabriel got me a same-day appointment, was there EARLY not just on time, fixed the issue within 40 minutes and cleaned up and was out the door. I couldn't be more appreciative of a company that knows how to excel in great customer service.

He also didn't upsell me on services that I apparently did not need, but that my previous company was pushing me to have done. He even gave me evidence as to what he did, how he did and why he wouldn't have me do the alternative suggestion from Absolute Plumbing.

Fair pricing and excellent service. Will use for all future plumbing issues.

It's a Saturday, Jay answers his phone on the 2nd ring, comes over within half an hour and he diagnoses where the leak is.  We're thinking it's going to cost an arm and a leg to fix the problem because of where it is.  He listened to determine where the pipes were in the wall and they were exactly where he punched a hole through, which minimized the repair that will be needed on the wall.  He came up with an alternative solution which works great!  I'll give an update if it fails to cure the problem but I'm extremely happy with the service and savings we got using this Yelp favorite!  Thanks Jay!

I was installing a new kitchen sink faucet and needed some help finishing the job (without leaks).  I called up Gabe and scheduled an appt for 4pm.  He showed up right on time and was very friendly and helpful.  He recommended replacing some corrugated supply pipes with flexible piping, answering my questions and explaining why the old supply pipes would be a problem in the future.

He needed to go to Home  Depot to get some supplies but agreed to only charge me for the 1.5hr that he needed to do the job, even if the job took a little longer.  Gabe completed the job quickly and his rates are reasonable (unlike some of the other plumbers out there).

I would definitely recommend him and I will have him come back to replace the corrugated supply pipes that are in the bathrooms.

Gabriel/Jay was awesome and very reasonably priced :) I found a leak in my garbage disposal over the weekend (of course, always at an inconvenient time), and he was able to come out by Tuesday. He replaced the entire unit in less than an hour, showed me how to reset it if I needed to, and went over all of the maintenance and warranties. Highly recommended. He is extremely thorough and kind. DO NOT USE THIS GUY!!
This guy is so shady. I reached out to him to get a quote for 2 things to get done: installing our new kitchen faucet and replacing the shut off valve. He initially quoted me $180 + $10 for the material (aka the shut off valve). When I asked him to give me a quote to do JUST the faucet, he quoted me $190!! SHADY SHADY BUSINESS! How did he go from doing two things at that price to overcharging me to install a sink?! I called him out on it and his response was SO INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE!
This was his response when I called him out on his SHADY PRICING: Okay well since you don't sound serious and you keep shopping I'll clear the board and pass on your time time schedule I have other people want to schedule

He made an ASS out of himself for ASSUMING I was shopping around when I have every right to request a quote. I also live Downtown in a high rise and was trying to coordinate the water shut off with my HOA. Everyone (BUT GABRIEL) knows how difficult it is dealing with HOA and getting a timely response out of them. So I asked Gabriel to come out with the CAVEAT that I am still waiting for confirmation from HOA. I heard back from HOA and they require a 7 business day notice so I had to cancel my appt with Gabriel. Low and behold this asshole responds that he'll never service me again.

Hey Gabriel, good luck getting new customers. I'll make sure to share this experience with all of my friends and family.

I am amazed that a plumber could be so great!  We had a emergency plumbing issue with our shower at 10:00 pm on Saturday night and the water was rising from the pipes below. My fiancé mentioned to call Rooter Rooter, but I think they typically take advantages of customers, so I logged on to Yelp and saw great reviews about Accolade Plumbing and that Jay had just fixed someone else's shower a couple hours earlier and they had raved about his work.  I called him up and he was over to our place in Mission Valley within 1/2 hour from El Cajon and fixed our shower issue for a reasonable price and then took a look at our bathtub and fixed it at no charge because he gave us some good advice on how to drain the tub properly. Jay was very friendly and he was on time and the quote he stated was what he charged.  When I have plumbing problems in the future I will be Accolade Plumbing. Very honest plumbler. I'm keeping him in mind if I ever have another plumbing problem. Gabriel tried explaining how to fix my slow draining sink over the phone but I ended up needed him to come over because I didn't understand. While he was at my place he even gave us some tips on how to fix simple plumbing issues. I highly recommend him if you're looking for a plumber! I'm going to recommend him to everyone I know.

Straight Shooter. Jay installed dishwasher, disposal, and new faucet at my house last week. He determined that the existing drain pipe under the sink was too high and would need to be moved down to work correctly. I think a lot of plumbers would have just installed it incorrectly and then let a problem slowly develop over time.
Jay made a 2nd trip to my house to make sure everything was done the right way. I can tell that quality is real important to him and he does his trade the right way. Fair pricing too.

He showed great manners and sincerity; he guided me through the entire job and the knowledge I gained that day were invaluable. I had Gabe run a waterline to my new fridge, and though typically this would be an easy DIY job, I was unfortunate enough to not have crawl space nor a fridge space adjacent to the sink wall. Gabe arrived within 20 minutes of me contacting him and provided a free estimate after crawling through my attic.

He ran a pipe from my garage through my attic, over my kitchen, into my pantry, and out to the fridge space through a hole he drilled. The job was completed the same day within a matter of a couple hours. It was clean, professional, and the quality was outstanding. I don't Yelp much but having managed customer support for 3 years, and understanding the worth of great service and acknowledgment, I couldn't let Gabe's exceptional work go unnoticed.

Gabe came over last minute on a holiday and not only unplugged the kitchen sink but quickly fixed a pipe in the sink that was leaking.  He also gave me useful information on what foods will clog the sink, the proper way to use the disposal, a great trick for easily cleaning the disposal!

I can't say enough about the good service Gabriel provided us.  My mom's pipes in her slab broke and leaked up into the house.  We contacted Gabriel he gave us a quote over the phone that was reasonable.  He came out within a couple of hours got some of the water running in the house.  He came back the next day and had the whole house up and running in two days.  My moms house is old and made of solid concrete not an easy one to work on.  He actually had more work to do than expected but he was still able to keep the price down.  He did not gouge.  I would highly recommend him.

Accolade is the best! Jay showed up at a moments notice to help us assess our water heater which had stopped working.  It turned out that it was time to replace it (we knew that the heater was at the end of its useful life), and we didn't figure this out until late Friday afternoon.  Jay was able assess the situation within an hour of our call on Friday, and helped us locate and order a replacement water heater and set up for an early morning delivery on Saturday morning.  He then showed up bright and early on Saturday to pull out the old heater and install the new unit.  He was quick, friendly and very professional.  We will definitely use Accolade again for any needs we have in the future  Thanks Jay!

My first review ever and all because of Accolade! Jay deserves 100 stars! We recently bought a house and our original request was to check a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink and conflicting reports of a possible leak in the bathroom. Jay not only gave great service and diagnosed any issues. He totally went above and beyond when other service vendors were installing our new refrigerator and dishwasher. He stepped right in without even being asked to get their job done. Wow!

The following day (Saturday) we had another issue arise and I called Jay right away. It was a small issue but he showed up right away to check on it. Working in customer service myself, I can take a few lessons from him.

Being new home owners, we're keeping Accolade as our Plumber to call!

So our water heater stopped producing hot water a couple nights ago and my husband tried to re-light the pilot (several times) and it didn't work. So he called a plumber (GRJ plumbing) the next day, who came after several hours, didn't diagnose what was wrong, didn't even try looking at anything but said that our water heater hadn't been installed to code and we needed to replace it for $2 300!  (Obviously, it had passed code as it was part of the home inspection when we bought the house a few years ago and we hadn't replaced it.) Long preamble here, because this morning my husband called Accolade and spoke to Gabriel, who asked us to send pictures and then walked my husband through re-lighting the pilot and the water heater sprang back to life! The thing was that my husband hadn't held down some knob for long enough, (a minute and a half)! Gabriel returned my husband's call within 5 minutes this morning and in less than 15 minutest the problem had been solved. He could have been like GRJ plumbing, kept us waiting for hours, and then just told us to spend over $2300 for a new water heater! Thanks, Gabriel!

My garbage disposal/kitchen sink line was completely backed up and unsalvageable. We called Accolade Plumbing around 5:30 p.m. and Gabe was at the front door about 20 min. later. Not only is Gabe a really nice guy, he's very professional and knows what he's doing. He lugged all his equipment up the stairs, worked his tail off to get the pipe clear, and then showed me how to clean out the drain to prevent future clogs. Jay came by to fix a copper pipe that I accidentally broke off while trying to uninstall the tub spout. It looked like it was a very tedious job as he had to weld on a new pipe onto the old one (inside the wall) without removing the wall. He welded the new pipe through a hole that is a couple of inches wide only and it took him about 2 hours. Overall I am happy with him and I will likely call him again if I have any other problems.

I don't normally write reviews, but I had to take the time to recommend Gabriel from Accolade Plumbing. I have had several issues at my house, one was a clogged washing machine drain in the kitchen so I had to drain the wash in the kitchen sink. He fixed it quickly and replaced parts, all for a great price! Anderson plumbing had quoted me over a thousand dollars to fix the problem. It's working perfectly. I can now wash clothes and do dishes at the same time. Every time I call, he comes as soon as he can and fixes things for a great price, way cheaper than other plumbers out there and believe me, I've looked around. Very knowledgeable and respectful. UPDATE Oct27,2016: had Gabe fix a broken toilet and leaky bathroom faucet. Was able to squeeze me into is schedule very quickly. Excellent quality of work. Explained the repairs in layman's term. Fantastic value for the $ and level of service/expertise. A+++ Best plumber in San Diego.

I can understand why everyone raves about Accolade Plumbing on Yelp! I needed a kitchen faucet replaced. Tried calling another highly rated plumber on Yelp and they wanted $125/hour and couldn't schedule me for over a week. Accolade was able to come the very next day and only charged $85/hour. Gabe was extremely professional, friendly, cleaned up after himself, and did a great job. Highly recommend!!

Gabe is the man!  Friendly, honest, straightforward, no b.s., and genuinely wants to do the right thing - even if it means making less money.  I have a 55 year old house, with 55 year old plumbing.  I needed my kitchen drain snaked and gabe showed up within the hour (on a saturday) as promised.  He recommended I have someone run a camera through the line since he thought the pipes were damaged - he set up the appt with one of his contacts for a couple of days later.  Gabe showed up early to make sure everything was ready and went smoothly.   I've called 5 different plumbers over the 10 years I've had my house.  Gabe is by the far the best.  Stop looking.  Now.  Call him.

Jay was amazing!!! His professionalism and knowledge was impeccable.  In one service, he is now our family plumber that we will consistently rely on!  

We just purchased our new home and the washing machine hot and cold lines were abandoned and the drain was not improperly connected to the sewage.  Within less than 3 hours he tied the lines into the water supply and the drain into the sewage.  We are now able to wash our clothes in our new home thanks to Jay. Jay is the BEST.  He knows what he's doing and gets it done in a no nonsense way.
The previous tenant in my home is a plumber, so my landlord likes to use him since he knows the house.  That plumber told me he was never able to fix the running toilet while he lived here and to tighten the faucet of my bathroom sink would be a big job, requiring him to take the whole thing apart.  He had already done a shoddy job replacing the shower knobs, so when I had a sink job, I decided to look elsewhere and found Jay.  He came out to remove an outdoor iron sink, moved it by himself, and got it done quickly.  Then he fixed the sink in the no time (without taking the whole thing apart), and stopped the toilet from running in a snap. I didn't feel jerked around or milked for money.  Plus, he is a good guy who I feel safe having in my home as a woman living alone.

I can't say enough great things about Jay. We have used him twice so far on our condo in Mission Valley and he has always come the same day and been super helpful. This last time he came out he was texting with my husband over the course of a half-hour to help fix the problem (and/or get more information) before he arrived. He stayed for two hours and did an extensive search for the source of our water leak coming out of some air vents in the downstairs part of the condo.

He's very reasonably priced and worth every penny. We can't recommend him enough! He will continue to be our go-to-guy until we go broke from living in San Diego and are forced to move to Oklahoma. ha

I have used these guys for a few years. Have had them unclog drains, fix a faucet, replace a disposal, and replace my water heater. I've spent a lot of money with them. But, if something goes wrong with your plumbing, you have to fix it! I always feel like I get a fair deal, am told exactly what is needed, and that they do an excellent job. Oh, they never smell bad and they always clean up before they go!

Absolutely amazing same day service. The hot water heater was leaking in my rental apartment and needed to be replaced. After calling around and searching on Yelp, Jay at Accolade Plumbing was the only guy I talked to that was friendly and knew what he was talking about. Lucky for me he was able to come the same day so that my tenants didnt have to go without hot water. He made everything incredibly easy, too. I purchased a hot water heater online for store pick up at the Sears near my apartment and he was able to pick it up himself and go to the apartment and install it. I love that he and his brother (Chris I think?) worked together quickly and respectfully and also hauled away the old water heater all for a reasonable price! I would recommend them for your plumbing needs. In fact, we're calling him again to get stuff done on our house now!

I called Gabe on a referral from another plumber and I am very glad that I did.  I needed a sewage ejector pump replaced in a rental house on a Friday afternoon so that my tenants didn't have to deal with the smell of raw sewage and water leaking into the bathroom.  Most plumbers won't even touch this kind of job (two told me that on the phone).  Gabe said that he could come out the next morning and take care of it.  To my surprise, he called back and came out that night to take a look.  He figured out everything that needed to be done and came back first thing the next morning to complete the job.  He told me how difficult a job it would be after looking at it because the basin was under the floor.  Despite all that, he finished the job quickly and even gave me a military discount.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Accolade Plumbing to anyone that needs an honest and reasonable plumber.

We were having trouble with our clean out drain in our garage. We tried to clean it out but had no luck. We called Bill Howe since we used them before. My husband was not impressed with the conversation he had on the phone with them. In the meantime I found Accolade Plumbing on Yelp!! Gabe was professional, knowledgeable of his plumbing trade and provided prompt service.  In other words, his work is AWSOME!  Had a very stinky overflow situation on a Saturday afternoon that needed technical attention as soon as possible.  My go to plumber was not available so I went to YELP and found Accolade Plumbing.  I called Gabe who fit me in and was at my house within an hour.  He went right to work and remedied the problem while educating me as to what was the cause. My crazy contractor was using my garage sink as a slop sink.  I know this will be a shock, but it got fully backed up which meant no clean clothes.  Called Accolade and Gabriel came over very fast.  I always say I love pros, and this guy is a pro.  He was fast showed me the issue and fixed it fast.  I would highly recommend this company when you need a plumber.  They are great.

He broke his snake in our shower drain and left it there. Now our shower is completely unusable. He said it would cost at least $1000 for him to remove it. On top of that, he insisted that my wife pay him $95 for the visit.

We would have been much better off if we never called Accolade.

This was my second experience with Gabe and nothing changed...he is amazing. I had a leak in the hot water line, this time going to my bathtub. I called Gabe at 9am on a Saturday, he was out within an hour. He had it fixed within 40min. I wish all businesses took the same level of pride that Gabe does. Accolade Plumbing is awesome!  I called at 7:15 in the morning and Jay (Gabriel) was at my house within an hour.  He was honest and fair and did excellent work.  His price was very reasonable. He provides you with a guarantee for his work.  He also explained to me very clearly and patiently what the problem was and took care of it on the spot.

He also has a super sweet dog named Trixie!

I would highly recommend and will not hesitate to call if I have any other plumbing issues.

I begin by confessing: until now, I have been a Yelp Parasite.  I have used many reviews, usually to my advantage, but never contributed anything in return.  I break my silence now, finally, because I want to recommend Gabe.  I had one hell of a plumbing problem, an underground garden leak caused by (I later verified this independently) extremely high water pressure in my neighborhood.  Gabe responded quickly, Gabe made the fix (below estimate), and then when the fix got more complicated a week later, Gabe came back within a few hours of my call and sorted it out without charging me anything more than materials.  I want to emphasize the difficulty of the repair he made, because some of Gabe's positive reviews here involve stuff that seems minor, like small leaks or garbage disposals.  Let me assure you: this man is ready for anything, shovel to blowtorch.  Add to that his plain-dealing honesty (all the other reviewers are 100% right about that), and...well, I hope you can get him before he's too booked.  I'm deeply grateful that I did.

Had a blocked kitchen sink this morning, so I fired up Yelp and started calling the plumbers with the good reviews. The first one I called did not answer, so I left a message. I then called this number and Gabe answered. We scheduled a visit for 3 PM and he showed up on time.

He was very friendly, did the job quickly and his prices were very reasonable. He even fixed up a low pressure kitchen faucet that was going to be replaced soon.

I would definitely call him again if I ever had any plumbing needs.

He is cash only for now, but that wasn't a problem for me.

You can see from the reviews that Gabe provides first-rate service. I'll summarize my experience.

My house had been vacant for a couple months. I turned on the water to take a shower and ran downstairs for a moment while I waiting for the hot water. I freaked out when I heard a pitter-patter leak coming from the ceiling.

I ran to my computer and yelped for plumbers. My first call was to Gabe, on a Thursday night at 7:30pm. He listened patiently as I explained the problem and asked if he could come over. Concerned with extra charges for the after-hours call, I told him that it wasn't an emergency and we made an appointment for the next day. After making the appointment, he said that he will do service calls 24/7 and his rate is always the same. Incredible!

So Friday comes and Gabe shows up as agreed. After a 10 minute diagnosis, he tells me that he's nearly positive that it was only a simple caulking issue... Let me tell you, it's really embarrassing to be told that your caulk isn't doing its job!

Gabe gave me a half-tube of caulk gratis and told me I could handle the repair on my own. He also did not charge for the service call -- just asked that I give an honest review here.

I don't doubt that he will be able to handle real issues as well. Honest, stand-up, and caring guy.

Gabe was so awesome and very kind hearted. I called him this morning with a clogged kitchen sink and he was ready to come over right away. I had a an appointment this morning and he worked around my schedule, no problem. He was a perfect gentleman and really knowledgeable. He was also honest, totally affordable, and I can't wait to give him a call back with my husband to fix a few other items in the house. My son flushed a juice box down the toilet.  I tried to snake it, didn't help.  Called Bill Howe, they tried but couldn't get it.  The guy said I needed a new toilet b/c if he tried to go from the bottom he'd crack the porcelain.  

I removed the toilet and pulled juice box out myself.  However, the flange was rusty and beyond use.  I had trouble replacing it so I looked on Yelp and saw 42 Five Star reviews.  I called and Jay is the man!!  He tried to talk me through and text me with advice and asked for pics to figure it out.  When I gave up, I asked if he could come out.  He came at 6pm after I got off work.  He fixed the toilet and helped me install another.  It was fast, easy, professional and cheap.  

I will call him EVERYTIME and recommend him to EVERYONE.

Really nothing new to say:  Jay is a great plumber and his pricing is very fair.  I had him work on three projects for me and he did them all efficiently and I felt his charges were honest.  A couple months later I needed a plumber and Jay wasn't available so I tried Adept Plumbing (also well reviewed on Yelp).  Huge mistake.  Adept got the job done, but the technician did not inspire any confidence and I really felt like there was a price gouge.   My advice:  Call Jay first.  Oh, and at the time he helped me, he didn't take credit cards.  If you don't have cash or a check book, better see if this has changed before he comes out.

Where do I start?  Gabriel was EXCELLENT.   He picked up the phone on a Saturday and was on his way within the hour.   He went to multiple locations to locate a part he needed and kept us informed every step of the way.  My Dad was looking over his shoulder and patiently explained everything he was doing.  He was very professional, honest, pleasant and has a dog - the dog clinched it for me!  ;-)

I was so impressed with Jay from Accolade Plumbing! Not only was he on time, he was an efficient worker. I learned a lot from Jay, he really had our best interest when he was fixing and repairing a few things at our house. I left urgent messages for 2 other plumbers on Angie's List and never heard back.  The following day I decided to check yelp and found Accolade Plumbing.  Like others, I was a bit skeptical based on all the positive reviews.  Jay is the real deal--he showed up at my house within 20 minutes and cleared a blocked line.  He also swapped out a part on my furnace and re-lit the pilot.

I hope to never have another plumbing issue, but if I do, Accolade will be my first call.

I made an appointment with a competitor and they never showed. I called Jay and he was very friendly and claimed he could be there after a few other jobs. When he arrived, he was very professional yet friendly. He quickly fixed my clogged garbage disposal- and even taught me how to use tool after giving me the wrench free of charge. I contacted Jay in a desperate situation as our main line had backed up to the point that nothing was flowing (toilets bubbling, water backing up into shower and tub, etc.). I told Jay how this was becoming a regular occurrence. After clearing our main line, Jay noted that his cable was getting caught at 50 feet and suggested we contact Bill at SD Pipe Inspection to run a camera to locate the blockage. After the point of blockage was identified, Jay came out the next day to dig up our driveway and repair the pipe, which was brittle and invaded with tree roots. The job took him all day and the price was less than half of what I was expecting to pay for a job so labor- and time- intensive. He also had Bill w/ SD Pipe Inspection return to re-run his camera through the new clean-out to the city line in our street to ensure that there were no additional problems after the point that was repaired. Jay was professional, courteous, thorough and trustworthy. He went above and beyond to ensure that our long-standing problem had been fixed, and at a very fair price. He's a good person who does exceptional work. And his dog Trixie was a big hit with my kids! I can't recommend Accolade Plumbing highly enough!

I had a busted garbage disposal and I called Gabe. He came out same day (within a few hours!) and replaced it. I also decided to have him install a new faucet for me as well. He was very professional, funny, nice guy that did an excellent job. I highly recommend Gabe without any reservation.  Gabe is extremely professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and above all very honest.  He helped me re-plumb and remodel two rental units. I needed a plumber to come over today and we were sure lucky to have it be Jay!  He arrived when he said he would, called when he was on the way, explained what was needed and had the right parts, and got a leak and 3 faucets fixed in record time.  Wow.  And, he was very attentive to cleaning up the area and making sure everything was working before he left.  Great job all around--- and very reasonable cost.  Highly recommend--- this is my new go to for plumbing!.

I have had a lot of plumbers at my house over the years, but Gabriel of Accolade plumbing is by far the best. He does a great job and does not try to up sell you on anything. He says, and I quote if it does not need to be replaced or fixed, then don't do it. He is honest and knowledgeable. I find his rates reasonable and well in line for the work being done. I can't recommend him enough. He is the only plumber I will now use.

Jay just left a few minutes ago, and I agree with every other 5-star review here. He is one of the nicest people I have met, he came within a few hours of my calling (he was at another job, and fit me in right after), his repair was spot on, and he was great at walking me through every step. His customer service is great: he is polite, professional, and personable. He never talked down to me or glossed over anything, he gave me advice on how to keep this from happening again, and he even took a few minutes to answer a completely unrelated question I had about our hot water heater. He was also super patient with my three dogs, who were all very interested in being in his face the entire time he was working! His rates are very reasonable, and I paid about half of what I was expecting to pay. I will not hesitate to call him again if I need any other plumbing work done. I highly recommend him!

Amazing! Jay came over for a simple gas line installation for our dryer, and he ended up staying the whole day due to unforeseen issues. Long story short... Jay went way above and beyond for us. So after calling over 5 plumbers we could not get an appointment anywhere for a few days - Fast forward to Gabriel - we called him Saturday morning and he came that afternoon.!!!! Something unheard of in the plumbing world.
Not only did he come that day but he stayed and did whatever needed to be done and did not overcharge for a Saturday.
He is an excellent plumber, did not try to upsell anything, did not say I will be back tomorrow. Bottom line he did the job, did it efficiently and very down to earth!

We were redoing our kitchen and needed a gas line for an outdoor heater and for a gas stove and Gabriel came by to give us a price. He told us what we needed to do to install it and get it to where we needed the gas. He fit us in his schedule and did the work in one day. He came back the next day and checked the gas line and we were all good. I would recommend Gabriel as easy to work with nice guy who does a great job.

I had an issue with the hot water pressure in one of my showers.  I figured it would either be a clog in the shower cartridge or debris in the hot water line.  I always like doing things myself if I can, so I tried taking apart the control lever to access the cartridge.  However it was heavily corroded and I ended up snapping the shower lever.  The chrome sleeve around the shower cartridge was also corroded.  After several attempts of trying to remove this sleeve to access the cartridge I decided to throw in the towel.  I didn't want to accidentally damage the shower valve as well which would have made life a lot more miserable.  I gave Jay a call and sent him some pictures of what was going on.  He saw that I might be able to take care of this myself and basically coached me through the situation.  He gave solid expert advice, I did as he suggested and voila I was able to remove the chrome sleeve and complete the project!  If I ever run into any major plumbing issues, I'd definitely give Jay a ring to perform the repairs and would recommend him to anyone in need of a plumber!

I had a leaky shower that I tried and failed to fix..

I called Accolade plumbing and Jay was able to take care and fix my leaky shower very quickly.  Turned out I had bent part of the handle sleve when I removed it and tried to replace the cartridge myself.

For the service and the price they can't be beat and I'd definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone.

Just had Gabriel over to fix on a leaky kitchen sink. He is great! He replaced a hose and let me know about another issue which needs repair. Gabriel was prompt, professional, friendly and courteous. His pricing is reasonable and since he had some time left in the hour he asked if there was anything else he could look at for me. What a great example of how a plumber should be -- scratch that. A great example of a what a human being should be. I called Accolade based upon the Yelp reviews  just before going out of town, having a stalled out garbage disposal. The owner answered his phone promptly.

I explained that my garbage disposal needed to be fixed or repaired. I don't want to pull the stupid girl card -- I take pride in the fact that I can do stuff on my own, but electrical stuff is beyond for my handywoman skills.

He said he didn't want me to have to pay the $75 to come out here to look at it when I might be able to fix it myself. He very pleasantly walked me through the steps to reset it and get it moving again. It's now good as new.

There was nothing in it for him to do this other than good karma, so consider this review that dose of good karma coming right back at you.

I recently had an issue with a property I own the tub was not draining and the tenants I had were very upset and wanted it fixed immediately. After contacting multiple plumbers that all wanted to schedule me out two to three days , I had the luck of calling Gabe. I could tell he was swamped with work but he heard the urgency in my voice or better yet he understood that some plumbing issues cant wait 2-3 days.  He came out that day and cleared the pipes and the tub was draining properly with in 15 minutes of Gabe arrival.  His price was more than reasonable, he cleaned up after and left everything spotless, and he was extremely professional.  I also met his cool dog TRIXEE .  No doubt 5 Star experience; he is the best plumber I have ever dealt with.

Jay was quick to respond to my message. When I got sick and had to change our appointment, he was accommodating. When he arrived he was courteous and very competent. Second time we used Gabe - first time was a 5 star review. This time hired him for a sudden water leak behind a wall.

Overall pretty good experience, but a few small issues that did not earn a 5 star review this time. Gabe responded quickly, is an overall nice guy, and seems to know his stuff (good diagnosis skills), has good pricing, but he is somewhat rough around the edges in people skills.

RESULT - $347 - to open walls inside house and diagnose and repair drainage pipe that was leaking. Good diagnosis skills. Also Gabe graciously took a quick look and fixed a kitchen faucet issue.

ISSUES:
1) Gabe almost recommended we pull entire marble cabinet out by hiring another company to pull it out - but I suggested we first try to open the walls a little and see if he could fix it.
2) Did not tell me ahead of time we had to hire a separate drywall repair person, so this added to the overall cost and was a surprise.
3) Scared me how he pounded and shook the pipes to remove them, in my mind risking more damage. I am not a plumber, but I wondered if there was a more delicate way to remove the pipes, without risking further damage.
4) Always brings dog with him (dog pooped on our front lawn, which Gabe cleaned up when I told him about it). We like dogs, but it is odd for any professional to bring a pet with them. And he seemed a little distracted by having the dog with him.

RECOMMENDATION - we would recommend and hire Gabe again. We would just be more cautious about asking what exactly was included and what skills he has related to the ENTIRE job (cabinet removal, dry wall, etc.), to make sure we were on the same page going in.

Some background.  I was going to bed on a Monday night when I heard a faint hissing sound.  Walking about the bedroom I determined the sound was coming from the master bathroom.  Ah hah I thought, my wife must have mistakenly left her radio turned on.  Walking into the bathroom I could see the radio was turned off and that the sound seemed to be coming from below the sink.  Uh oh.  I got down on my hands and knees and could see a pinhole leak coming from the flexible water intake line to the faucet.  Note - this was a main intake line and could not be shut off in the bathroom.  I unsuccessfully attempted to tape the leak such that I could leave the water on to our home.  My wife was coming home later that night and it would have been nice to have water flowing.  No such luck, I needed to shut off water to the house.
Tuesday morning I was desperate to find a plumber who could come to the house soon and at a reasonable price.  I called the major plumbing services who all begin at approximately $130 for house call with additional charges for parts.  These major plumbing services also couldn't commit to a final bill until the plumber arrived to view the situation.  Sorting Yelp plumbing reviews by Highest Rated I noted Accolade Plumbing (AP).  AP is owned/ operated by Gabriel Jay and is based centrally in Mission Valley.  Shortly after 8am Tuesday morning I phoned APs number.  Jay answered the cell number and I described my situation.  Jay stated he already had two jobs ahead of me but that he thought he could be at my home by 10:30am.  Wow I thought, that is terrific!  Then I asked about price.  Jay stated a dollar figure which was very reasonable.  I asked if that was labor or parts and labor?  Jay stated that was total bill including parts and taxes!  Sold!!  (Side note - payment is cash only).  And then Yelpers it gets even better.  Jay phones me at 9:40am and says he quickly completed his two other jobs and could be at my house by 10am if that would work for me.  Heck yes!  
Jay arrived at 10am.  Upon shaking hands Jay immediately struck me as a courteous and trustworthy individual.  He looked at the intake line which was as I had described on the phone.  I was concerned that Jay might not have this line in his van and may have to go after a correct part.  Jay put me at ease and said he stocks all common lines and valves.  Sure enough, Jay walked to his van and opened the side door.  I was impressed with how neatly and organized the van interior operated as mobile stock room.  Jay came back with the required line and set to work.  Within a short time Jay had removed leaking line, installed new line, cleaned space, restored water to the house and successfully tested operation with no leaks.  
Honestly Yelpers, I cannot thank you enough for highlighting a truly wonderful person and plumber in Accolade Plumbing!  I now know who to call when faced with plumbing challenges or crisis - call Jay!

I have used Gabe for a couple of years now.  He responds right away, and knows what the problem is as soon as I describe what is happening.
He does a great job, explains everything he is doing and makes great suggestions. He is also affordable. I will never use another plumber and recommend him to anyone with a plumbing issue.

I was skeptical about all the reviews. Seemed to good to be true, but I thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed. I had a leaking, old water heater in an outside shed. Jay and his apprentice came to check it out and agreed it was done (14 years old). He estimated the cost of parts quite accurately. We went to Home Depot together, while the water heater drained, to pick out the new water heater and other parts. Trixie the dog came along for the ride. Once back at the house he replaced the water heater and soldered the pipes. They even answered my questions so I would understand all the functionality so I can manage it myself.

The price was exactly as I would expect. The customer service was polite and laid back. Overall as smooth as a plumbing problem can be handled.

Had Jay come out last week.

He was very prompt and did a great job!

I have never called a plumber before so I wasnt sure what to expect. He gave me a quote over the phone when I told him exactly what happened but when he got here and accessed the problem he actually said it was going to be less then the original quote over the phone.

He did a good job and cleaned up any drippings that occurred while he was here. I would definitely call him again if I needed a plumber.

Called Gabe about helping with a couple of repairs to our water line from the city where I had to replace the house shutoff valve, a T, a hose bib and make a connection to the existing line under the house.  Due to issues with the cities shut off valve at the curb, I didn't get a good solder connection under the new house shut off valve.
Gabe fixed that and made the connection under the house in short order.
He showed up sooner than expected and on a Holiday, no extra charge.  He was efficient, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with and his dog.
I will only call him for any future plumbing needs, you would be crazy not to call him if you need help.

Man, Gabe is great.  I woke up to a broken, leaking water heater and was recommended Accolade.  Gabe was over in less than 30 minutes and did a great job.  We went to Home Depot and he showed me the various options, with the pros and cons.  Came back and replaced the water heater very quick and professional.  Never tried to sell me unnecessary things and gave me a great deal.  Gabe does great work, is very professional and does not overprice or try to sell you unnecessary items.  I will definitely use him in the future.

Leaking water heater, which is something that needs dealt with quickly. Called, got voicemail, left message. Waited 5 hours, no call back. Called again, this time got an answer, he said he was too busy to return calls.  Very surprised by that, given all the 5 star reviews. Maybe Yelp's been increasing the number of calls beyond what they can handle? Anyway, no reason to doubt that he does good work, but I'll never know. Someone else is doing the repair later today.....

I want to say Jay is just awesome! After a long day at work my husband I came home to a flooded house due to a busted flex hose under the sink. Well after business hours two plumbers we called refused to come out. Thanks to the great reviews on Yelp we thought we'd give Jay a try and he agreed to come out and fix our lines and angle stops  so we could get our water back on. His price was so resoanable especially for after hours. He was quick and didn't try to upsell us into unneeded products. He is a great guy and I will be using him for all my plumbing needs!

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service skills! Called based on high Yelp reviews and felt like I was somehow an inconvenience. I almost wanted to keep conversation going because it was so unbelievably rude it was kinda funny. Advice, HIRE someone to process new customers, you may be a fine plumber but leave answering the phone and handling potential new customers to someone else! See ya...off to call the hundreds of other plumbers in San Diego!

I called Jay after multiple other plumbers had turned me done for a repair on a podium wide faucet sink. Jay agreed to come out the next day with no hesitation. He quoted me on 2 hours before starting at a price better then the other guys I had called. He finished in just over an hour and a half. He also was kind enough to put up with me asking all kinds of questions, with the hopes that one day I can tackle such a project. He is absolutely my go to plumber in the future. Thanks Jay!

I highly recommend Accolade. Unfortunately we had to have to get Jay out here 4x in one year but he always explains exactly what is going on and gives options for resolution. Jay is very knowledgeable and experienced and makes sure you are satisfied with his work. He's also very friendly.

We had a situation where our sewage line was backing up.  Looked at Yelp and Found Accolade Plumbing (Gabe).  Called him and explained the situation and he was able to quote me over the phone.  In addition, he came over after standard business hours.  He was very polite, professional, and knowledgeable.  His diagnosis was spot on, and less than an hour after he arrived, he was done.  Gabe epitomizes the small business owner that is using hardwork and commitment to build his clientele.  I can't say enough good things especially with the way other plumbing companies quote, and then work.  

IF YOU HAVE PLUMBING ISSUES -- CALL ACCOLADE!  GABE WILL SOLVE IT!!!!

Jay (Gabriel) deserves every 5 Star review he has on here. He was courteous, professional, on time and delivered stellar service. After months of dealing with contractors from hell on home renovations, it seemed we finally worked off our crappy contractor karma when we came across the reviews for Accolade Plumbing.

Jay gave me an estimate and scheduled an appointment for the same day over the phone. He was here for two hours snaking our two temperamental shower drains and installed a toilet in our newly renovated bathroom. Jay worked quickly, was up front about unexpected issues and gave us a really awesome price for all the work he did. The drains work like new and our toilet looks great in our new bathroom! While we obviously don't hope for any further plumbing problems in the future, it's a relief to know we have such a great professional we can call to do the job quickly, properly and at a great price. You are seriously crazy not to at least give Accolade a call!

I have used several plumbers of the past few years and was never impressed enough to use them more than once.  Since having Jay work on our plumbing, I'll never call anyone else.  I had a plugged toilet, that I couldn't fix myself.  Jay was at my home within an hour of my call.  The plug was deep and he had to use some heavy duty equipment to clear the plug.  While he was at it, he rebuilt the inside of my toilet so it works like new and flushes better than ever.  Jay is professional and extremely courteous.  He is a pleasure to work with.  He also takes great care to protect the area he is working in and cleans up when he is finished.  Couldn't ask for a nicer guy or better plumber.    And I love his dog Trixie!!

I can't say enough good things about Gabriel.  He has been to my home numerous times to fix various leaky faucets and do repairs.  He is always quick to respond and shows up on time.  I believe he is very fair with his prices and I have been satisfied with all the work he has done at my home.  I will continue to use his services and I highly recommend him to everyone!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The service provided by Jay was some of the best I have ever had, not just in plumbing, but in regards to any in home service. I am in the service industry myself, and I have to say that I was beyond impressed.
I had a clogged drain and about to leave town for a week, a home owners nightmare. I called Jay and he was flexible with his personal schedule on a weekend and came over on very short notice. His service was fast, explanatory and comprehensive. I couldn't be more happy with his service. Do yourself a favor, call him now.

Have had him do some more work since last review, both minor and major. Snaked a bathtub and (probably wrong terminology) replaced pipes that connected to the water meter on my side that was flooding the lawn and meter area.

As always, relaxed guy and cheaper than most. Quick tips, talk price before as he is very open about it after looking at the problem. I usually pay cash, and he usually discounts a little bit for that. Even without discount, usually way cheaper than any franchise or big business.

Only consideration, he is only one guy so if he is on a big project, he will get back to you ASAP but may not be immediate. But when he can, he has come over same day or arranged a later next day visit.

Gabriel just left, having fixed a clogged toilet and a toilet which used to run every few hours. The last time he came, he totally rebuilt a toilet in the master bedroom, which had been running for years and which no one else could fix. That toilet has continued to work perfectly for some time now.

Gabriel is THE BEST PLUMBER I have ever used. He takes off his shoes before entering the house; he works quietly and efficiently; he explains the problem and how he plans to fix it; then he explains how to avoid the same thing from happening in the future; and his work is excellent. I can't recommend him highly enough. I live in LJ, and there might be closer options, but I will never call another plumber.

Gabriel was extremely knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful while repairing my shower valve (I had no hot water). He took the time to show me where the problem was, and explain the best solution. His honesty, affordability, efficiency, and great attitude were refreshing.

If I could give Gabe 10 stars I would! He is fair, affordable, flexible, honest, and unlike many trades he treats your job as if you were his only customer. I've overseen several commercial and personal construction projects over the last 20 years and Gabe is the type of person you want on the job. Not only is his work exemplary but he is respectful, polite, knowledgable, and he takes pride in making sure the work is done right. He brings an old school work ethic and pride to his work which results in a quality job.

I will use him for all my future plumbing needs as well as recommend him to my friends.

Someone who truly takes pride in their job. I had a drainage issue with my kitchen sink (due mostly to the building's old and incompetent plumbing system). As soon as he came into my house he reviewed the problem and got to work right away. Something that seemed simple at first turned into a 2 hours and a half+ job. Jay was focusing simply on getting my problem fixed- a very challenging issue because it concerned the whole complex not just my unit. He was not concerned with how much time he was already in my house- he wanted to resolve the problem... and he did a great job! Never out to see how much money he can get out of you like others, and his expertise and kindness are the reason I would never hire another plumber. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Accolade Plumbing is prompt, courteous and professional.

Called Jay in the morning and he (and Trixie) were able to come out before noon to take a look at a toilet making a high pitched sound when the tank refilled.  He took care of the toilet and a couple of other items for us. Unfortunately after he left, we noticed a leak at the hose connection in the toilet. We called Jay and he came back the next day, at a time that was convenient for us, and fixed the leak at no charge.  (thank you Jay!)

No kidding, Jay/Gabe/Gabriel (whatever you want to call him as he says) is THE BEST! We've gone through many plumbers in San Diego. Gabe (that's what I prefer to call him since Gabriel is his real name) is the real deal.  

We couldn't figure out where water was coming from at our house.  There had been a wet spot by the dishwasher and a little bit of mold.  That was enough to send my husband's mind spinning.  Gabe answered the phone as he was working with another client.  Apparently, he's a one man band.  He doesn't have a crew.  It's just him.  Amazingly, we were able to book him that same day.

He took a look at the dishwasher and put it through several tests.  Looked everywhere for possible leaks.  He explained everything to me in a very professional, non-plumber lingo way that I could understand what's going on.  And he wasn't uppity about it like some know-it-all plumber.  After testing several possibilities, he found the problem-- dishwasher had no rubber gasket to hold in the water if something got stuck in between the door.  *PHEW!* It wasn't a slab leak, which was our worse fear.

Seriously a unicorn, as another Yelper described Gabe/Jay/Gabriel.  You can't find an honest tradesman nowadays.  Honest, knowledgable, patient, not a snob, and affordable!

We're SO keeping him as our go-to plumber.  Gabe/Jay/Gabriel, keep up the great work!

Another very successful visit by Accolade plumbing. A previous plumber (only called because Jay was booked at the time) snaked the drain for two hours, left a horrible mess, and accomplished nothing but clogging the drain further. Accolade took one look at it, described the problem, was patient while we got a hold of the landlord, then fixed it in half of the allotted time--not to mention he didn't leave a huge mess.

After he left, my husband looked at me and said, Now I see why he is the only plumber you want to use.

Efficient, polite, professional...just as before.

Our toilet decided that on a Monday morning it was going to clog and never be able to be cleared. I looked up plumbers on yelp and decided to give accolade plumbing & jay a try due to the stellar reviews (which I admit I was hesitant about!). Jay showed up within 2 hours of calling and was very knowledgable, professional, and informative. He informed us that we would need a new toilet after he attempted to clear the monster clog. He got on the phone with a local wholesale plumbing place and ordered exactly what we needed. We went to pick up the toilet and he was back at our home just a few short hours later to install it. I am now forever grateful for a toilet that actually flushes every time you use it!!!! Price was great and no run around with time! If you need fast, reasonably priced, component plumbers I highly recommend accolade plumbing and jay. Totally keeping their number for future needs and passing it on to anyone who needs a plumbing referral.

UNBELIEVABLE!  Much like unicorns and Big Foot, I didn't believe the Honest Plumber really existed.  Until now that is!  
I am a home-owning single mom and plumbing repairs always scare the bleep out of me. I know how easy it is for people to take advantage of the fact that I know absolutely nothing about the inner workings of my home.  Not to mention the fact that I have to allow a strange man into my home while I'm there alone.
So when the shower in my upstairs master bath started leaking, I put off fixing it until I noticed the 3 foot spongy water stain forming in the ceiling below.  At that point, I was convinced that the next time I showered I was going to fall through the floor into the garage below and decided it was time to take out a second mortgage...or sell my first born...and call a plumber.
I found Gabriel on Yelp.  He came out first thing the next morning and was everything every other Yelper has said about him.  Professional? Check!  Honest? Check!  Affordable? Check!  Not only did he do a fabulous job and charge me a tenth of what I thought he would, but he also had the nicest, calmest personality.  I immediatly felt comfortable allowing this stranger into my home.  I am now a customer for life and have already started recommending him to all my peeps.  THANK YOU YELP!
