Pete's Plumbing has been owned and operated by Pete Hillis, Sr. since 1972. Operating out of his home in Lakewood, Pete has watched the company's customer base grow in excess of 10,000 customers. At its present location in Signal Hill, Pete's Plumbing operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Looking to seal their commitment in establishing long-term relationships with their customers, Pete's Plumbing also offers 24-hour emergency service and weekend service for its regular customers.

Since Pete's death in 2014, Patty & Tony now handle the day to day operations. Over the years, they have overseen the growth of Pete's from its original one-man operation to its current operation featuring 7 service trucks. Family owned & operated since 1972, they have built a strong reputation & loyal customer base. They make sure the same quality service continues to be the foundation of repeat customers--just as Pete envisioned. Both know you can offer inexpensive prices, but if the service is inferior, the customer won't be calling back. A Pete's Plumbing customer does not have to wait several days to get a repair done. Pete's Plumbing has been able to consistently offer same day service for 90% of its customers. Contract jobs (2 to 3 days in length) or special order items, of course, are scheduled for the customer's convenience and availability of item.

I have NO idea what plumbing work should cost. With these guys I don't really care. Frank especially is a real pro and I will never call any other plumber. I feel safe when they look at my gas, pleased when they crawl under the house and DON'T trash the room where the crawl space opens into, and pleasantly surprised when 5hours to pull out at least 40 feet of 6 thick roots from my drain does not cost a zillion bucks.

I had a clogged toilet, they showed up on time, wore masks, got it fixed in 5 .minutes and were very pleasant!
I did not get the repair man s name, but he was on time, very polite, and helped me with two different concerns I had ,with both my furnace and my dryer.I would definitely recomend them. I was very happy with the time it took to address both problems. And he was a Steeler Fan, so I already liked him. Also the price was very reasonable. Thank you

For the second time they are a NO show with no phone call saying they are running late. Must be nice to waste people's time and make them loose money because we have to take off work early to meet you.
Update 3-15-13 now they call wanting to schedule for my whole house repiping but I told them I went elsewhere and the lady on the phone says what did you do that for? and I explained the situation to her again and asked her what she would have done in my shoes. Only thing I heard after that was a dial tone.

Had an appointment today, office called to say he was 10 minutes away. GREAT! I waited, stood at my door, watched the plumber sit in his truck for about 5 minutes. Then he pulled away. I called the office and asked what is going on? They let me know their plumber spoke to the owner and she said they already had another plumber there.
I quickly informed the office that I'm the owner and never spoke to the plumber. She again repeated the story and I told her that I think her plumber is a big liar. She promptly transferred me to the office manager who verified my address, which they had incorrect and then told me we are going to pass on the job
What kind of company does that? First, your plumber lies, he never got out of his truck, then you realize you have the wrong address and instead of apologizing and coming back you just pass?
Cool thanks . . . went ahead and called the other plumber who your guy said was already here and they will be here in an hour.

Pete's did an excellent job. Frank came out to my apartment today and was extremely professional and friendly. I can tell he has a good heart. He fixed the problem right away, in and out in about 15 mins and arrived EARLY! That is usually unheard of with these types of services. Frank, if you're reading this - you're awesome!
They came over and would not work on my plumbing because it is a condo and they said I had to give the board 24 hours notice when I made the appointment they knew they were coming to a condo but did not warn me that if the water had to be turned off for any reason a 24 hour notice was required, when working on plumbing that is always a very strong possibility, then they left me with a leaking valve that got worse and could run into the unit below me. I called several times and begged them to fix it, as it was not leaking before their plumber visited, they said their plumber did not do it, but he did. I then called another plumbing company they cam over right away and turned off the building water without any 24 hour notice as this was now an emergency, one of the homeowners asked how long the water would be off he told them 5 minutes it was a little longer than that but he got the problem fixed at a reasonable price. The supervisor they sent over was arrogant and rude unhelpful. I would never use Pete Plumbing again ever.

We are repeat customers. Have used this company a few times. Reliable, professional, and very competitive prices. Even saved me some big bucks on occasion. Always called for plumbing issues then found out they repaired heating. Called them out. So glad i did. The wife and I have a new saying. Annnd, that's why we call Pete's.
So we had major water damage in our residence and Pete's Plumbing came out as soon as they could to stop the water leak. Miquel and Jose did a fine job. However, what was most impressive was the fact that Frank the supervisor came out and did a very thorough job inspecting all supply and drain lines and found issues that needed attention. Frank was extremely courteous, professional and took his time in explaining the issues at hand.
Let's be Frank, he is a great asset for Pete's Plumbing !!

I have used Pete's a few times for small projects. Last week I had a gas leak and was shut down by the City. I called Pete's and they were here within the hour and a few days later I had all new piping. They did a great job. They show up on time and are clean. I will call them for all my plumbing issues. Price is competitive.

Great experience! Josh came out and was well within the allotted window of time. He was really friendly, professional, and helpful. He was knowledgeable and fixed both our garbage disposal/sink leak and also our toilet issue easily and quickly. I was able to ask him questions and he explained options thoroughly. I would absolutely use Pete's again, and I would definitely request Josh in the future.
Hold onto your wallet. Needed outside faucet repaired, charged $500 for less than 1 hour work.
Great job and fast service when I need my dryers gas valve replaced. They were able to fit me in the same morning I called.
Pete's Plumbing saved the day. After 8 days of no hot water dealing with a different plumber, i had enough and called Pete's. They had someone out within two hours to fix the water heater. I appreciate the fast response and quick service...and that they got the water heater working again on the same day.

We've used Pete's Plumbing on a number of occasions but this last time they REALLY saved the day! Recently, on a Sunday afternoon we discovered that our water heater tank was leaking due to a crack, gasp, it's on the third story of our house!! It's 18 years old , we knew it would be going out soon....Small leak, potentially catastrophic if left undetected, though!
We called and Pete's sent two guys over the very next day! Yes, it was hard, it was hot, a water heater is heavy ( did I mention the third story) and we were the last call of the day but Vince and Shiloh were so nice and got the job done!
I feel like Pete's is like a taste of what the businesses of old used to be like. Friendly, fair, fast and we'll bill you later. Highly recommend!

I used Pete's for a gas line repair from the gas meter. They had to come out several times because they could not determine if there was a leak in the gas line. In doing so, one guy made several mistakes and appeared to not understand how to determine if there was a leak. After several attempts (three calls) Pete's finally sent another plumber. While the first plumber apologized for his inadequate service, the company still charged me for two call backs even though it was their mistake. The new plumber assessed that I had several leaks under the house that would require several thousands of dollars in repairs. It was evident that he was not truthful as in our conversation he kept adding additional costs. When I got a second opinion from another plumbing company, there test under the house found zero leaks and the test passed the city requirements. When I contacted Pete's to complain about the numerous service call charges and misinformation, they refused to remove any costs. Will never use of recommend this company.
Great service, very knowledgeable and easy to work with. From the management to the guys out on the field, highly recommended.
If you ever need a plumber.. you must call Petes Plumbing! Fair Fast & Reliable... Simply they very best in the area!!!

Taylor from Pete's just came and left. First of all he was on time. He didn't mind my barking dogs at all; in fact he's a dog lover! He unplugged our badly clogged bathroom sink in a flash. And he cleaned up even tho the sink was dirty when he arrived. He was polite, courteous, and spoke very nicely to my overly excited dogs and gave them all pets. I'm more than impressed! Taylor is the prime example of amazing customer service!
I am very disappointed with this company. Their hourly fee was cheaper than the other local plumbers; however, what is not mentioned is that the $98 or more that is charged for diagnostic services is not deducted from the bill if they do the job. I never had a service estimate as a separate bill from the job. The 10 minutes in my condo was still billed for the full hour.
I will inform my condo management company of this policy so they can inform the residents in the future who call them for local plumbing companies.

My association is contracted with these guys, so we had no choice but to have them inspect our main drain line in our kitchen. Long story short, we just needed a drain cleaning. Julio came by and tried to up-sale us by telling us the issue was elsewhere, we needed more then just a drain clean. When we declined, he left abruptly. I got a second opinion by a different local plumber. He came by cleaned the drain. Issue resolved.
A WEEK LATER, MY ASSOCIATION NOTIFIES ME THAT PETES PLUMBING CHARGED US FOR BEING THERE FOR 1 1/2 HRS....MY GOODNESS...HE WAS BARELY THERE FOR 15 MIN!!!!

I feel cheated. Thanks pete. Are times that bad that you have to charge $72.00 for a trip charge? I was a regular customer, and I thought I had a plumber who treated their customers with a little more respect.

I have to agree with the other reviewers who have been scammed by this company. I used to use Pete's Plumbing for any plumbing issues that I had. A few years ago, I had a problem with them, and I stopped using them. A few weeks ago, I had a clogged kitchen sink. My normal plumber couldn't come out for several days. I called Pete's, and they told me that it was $94 to unclog the drain, and they would come out that afternoon. Ron came to my unit. He is very friendly, and he quickly unclogged the drain (in a matter of minutes.) He then stood around and talked about the new president and his policies for some time. Yesterday, I received a bill for $117, which amounted to a 1.25 hours of work. When I initially called, they never told me that they charge hourly. They quoted me a flat rate of $94. Ron was absolutely not in my unit for an hour and fifteen minutes, and the vast majority of the time that he was there, he was talking, not working. I called today to have them rectify the situation. Patty, the office manager, took the call. Her customer service skills are completely lacking. She told me that they were charging me what the invoice said, regardless of what they told me on the phone and regardless of how long the plumber was in my unit, he wrote down that he was there for 1.25 hours. Completely dishonest, and I will not be using them again.

Pete's Plumbing was recommended to me by my neighbor. I had a clogged sewer line and was looking for a plumber that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.... I spoke to a wonderful office representative named Rochelle. She was extremely nice and was able to accommodate sending someone out that day, she also quoted their price for doing the work over the phone. .very reasonable pricing.
Around the time of my appointment It was pouring rain; however and I received a call from a representative of Pete's plumbing stating that due to safety reasons their technician would be out as soon as it stopped raining.. When their technician Joshua, did come he was extremely friendly and professional. The job was completed in less than 1 hour. The whole experience definitely exceeded my expectations. I am a very happy customer of Pete's Plumbing.

No complaints. Their dispatcher had excellent telephone and communication skills. Technician Ron came to install a new faucet in my old downtown Long Beach apartment and he arrived with a smile and everything he needed to do the job. He was friendly and professional and did a great job in a timely manner. He seemed very kind and happy with his job. My landlord has an account with Pete's so I know I'll be well served if I need another plumbing service. Thanks!

Today must've been a bad day for Pete's plumbing, As I see there's another negative review for today. This morning I spoke with Ron but I was driving and I said I would call him back. I called back and spoke with a Vanessa and then called back again and spoke with a Wyatt. It's 5:42 pm and I'm still waiting for a phone call. They came out on Thursday to address a plumbing issue and as of today the issue is still not resolved. A simple call to communicate with me is all it would've taken. I did my part by calling three times.
I've been using Pete's Plumbing for 25 years. They have installed copper plumbing, done heater repairs, fixed toilets, replaced water heaters, cleared the main line and cleaned out more drains than I can count. They are always honest when giving estimates for work, including telling you if there is a less expensive option. I have called them on holidays and weekends....always get a call right back. They show up on time and clean up when they leave. They also guarantee their work....it's rare, but they will come back if there is the need to do so.

Miguel and Jose just left. They were really great. They fixed our old toilet valve quickly and efficiently, and were very clean and organized. They were super polite and I really appreciate their considerate manner. Our flushing valve broke at 4 am this morning and I spoke with their representative (super nice!) at 8 am. Miguel and Jose then arrived at 9:30 and fixed everything right away. VERY GOOD RATES as well. It is really a relief to have a plumber arrive quickly, fix the problem easily, and then charge what is a very reasonable rate. We recommend Pete's Plumbing to anyone in Long Beach.

My employer was out of the office and informed me of the plumbing issues we were having. The approximate time of arrival was 11 am, Julio arrived at 10:54 am, very friendly and courteous. Unclogged the kitchen sink and went that extra step and installed a disposal splash guard. I would recommend Pete's plumbing to anyone who needs a plumber!

They were fast and did a great job... Very professional.... This was a large commercial job and not easy.....
Stereotypical plumbing experience: made an appointment, but they never showed. Said my appointment was not placed on their board. Asked when I wanted to re-schedule!! I pushed them and asked for a discount if I re-booked. Was told they best they could do was 10-percent. Ten-percent is somehow supposed to make up for lost time at work and having to take off even more work.

We've used Pete's Plumbing over the years with no complaints. I usually don't write reviews, but these guys are good. We had a hot water pipe break and it probably had beeen leaking for some time. They were prompt, did the work and even were less than the original quote. I would recommend them

This is probably the only plumber I trust right now. It is in my home city signal hill so convenient. You call and get pleasant help. Prices are the same probably as everywhere else. Grunion coupons occasionally for this place. Haven't had any complaints about this place lately.
Pete's Plumbing 's owner was so unprofessional today on the phone.Her lack of interest in customer service was obvious to me. Her office made a mistake in sending a crew to a house I am selling. Firstly they had
the telephone number of the person I paid to sit there for 2 hours and wait for the crew. They should have called and cancelled if they were not going to do the work. Secondly when I insisted they do the job they walked in for 1 minute and said I needed an entire house re pipe. Be accountable for your mistakes Pete's I will never recommend you again!

I tried another plumber because they were offering a cheap drain cleaning deal on their site...HUGE mistake. Checkered Flag plumbing came to my house and claimed I needed over $2k worth of work and that the underneath of my house was totally flooded with sewage! I was freaked out, but figured it I needed that much work that I would use Pete's because I had good experiences with them in the past. Pete's came out and let me know I had been scammed, and that there wasn't a DROP of water under my house! They saved me from being completely swindled, and next time I will just call Pete's FIRST!
I recently had Pete's Plumbing come and unplug my kitchen sink. I was overbilled for the service and it was the 2nd time this has happened. I had to call to correct this and they did, but it bothers me that it has happened twice now in a span of 16 months. What are the odds? For my last visit, I was quoted a standard rate of $106 to unclog my sink. The bill came to $172. There were 1.5 hours of labor added. The plumber was in and out of my house in less than 15min. I don't understand how there can be such a discrepancy??? And it's the 2nd time this has happened. 2 stars for this poor billing service that errs on their side. invoice #136207
We contacted Pete's Plumbing for the first time based on their great Yelp reviews. Frank came to our house to do a free assessment - he was very knowledgeable and offered a creative solution for replacing our water heater and raising it off the ground per our request. We also asked him to include several smaller plumbing projects throughout the house. We received the quote and gave the Ok to proceed. Frank, Horacio and David arrived on schedule and were very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. Everyone made sure all aspects of the job were done just right and they went above and beyond by helping and accommodating special requests such as allowing us to repaint the wall before installation. We required some follow-up due to the lead time on some parts so Frank came back to take care of all remaining items. We highly recommend them!
I started to use Pete's Plumbing about 4 years ago when I had a break in a water line and a leak in a gas line simultaneously. They were able to get someone out faster than I hoped and faster then other plumbers I contacted, including one I had worked with for years. They did the work quickly, quietly, and cleaned up after themselves, and everything worked at a reasonable price. Since then I have used them for all our plumbing needs and have been fully satisfied with the quality of the work, the cost, and professionalism of their staff. In fact, I called them again today and that is what prompted me to write this review.

Every time work is done, they have given me the option of fixing the current problem or going with a new one. The guys complete the work fast, efficient, and correctly. My second call to Petes. Reliable service and clean and courteous plumbers. Fortunately both times I could wait for service as they are quite popular. Fair and upfront pricing.
Our floor furnace from our 1940ish home broke. It would not emit any heat. We were worried about carbon monoxide emissions so we called gas dept and they came out and said there was a clog in the furnace and needed it serviced. Frank came out and he was punctual, informative and thorough. The price was reasonable and turn around time was quick. I highly recommend.
Left in the lurch and presented with a bill: That was our experience with Pete's Plumbing.
If you have an emergency, DO NOT call these people. We had a serious flood and put in a request for help, specifically asking for a call-back to let us know how long the wait would be since we had to get someone to help right away. We never received that call and turned to the fire department after a follow-up call to Pete's also yielded no response. About an hour later the plumber from Pete's showed up. Fortunately, the problem was solved by then. When I asked the plumber why he didn't phone me, as requested, he insisted he did, but my phone log shows otherwise (and verifies our long wait). Soon afterward we received a large bill for... nothing.
I hired Pete's to do a small job in my condo bathroom. New shower knobs and hook up a second sink. The work they did was good, no complaints. But when the bill arrived I was shocked to see the markup they put on their parts. For example: A standard sink hose that sells for $5 at home depot was $15.95. A standard T adapter that also sells for $5 at home depot was $21.95. I understand that markup is normal, but 300% markup seems downright ridiculous.
Recently Pete's Plumbing was investigating a leak in the parking garage below the multi-unit building in which I reside, and they came to my door unannounced and asked to enter my unit to snake the drain behind my washing machine. I live on the ground floor so it is easiest to access such clogs from my unit. I allowed the plumber to enter my unit and perform the work at hand.
The plumber assessed that the issue was due to the building's shared drainage and that it would be the building management's responsibility to pay for the services rendered. Unfortunately, an invoice was sent to me personally stating that it was my responsibility. This was upsetting, as the plumber who actually performed the work had told me otherwise. Thankfully, there was another tenant present to witness the plumbers original diagnosis...so I assumed if I spoke with the management of Pete's Plumbing that we would be able to quickly resolve the issue and re-issue the bill to the responsible party, building management.
I spoke with the manager of Pete's Plumbing directly over the phone, and she stated that the plumber told her differently....AND that he no longer works with Pete's Plumbing. I informed her that there is another tenant that witnessed the plumbers original diagnosis, alas she continues stand by the invoice which directly opposes the plumbers original diagnosis.
Ultimately, my only options are to pay the bill or bring the issue to an HOA board meeting and plead for them to pay the bill should they see fit. Both options, not optimal, in my opinion.
In the end, this yelp review will have to suffice. If you plan on patronizing Pete's Plumbing, I'd advise you get a copy of the work order from the plumber to protect yourself against the issue I had. As there is little room for discussion with the management when issues such as this arrise.
UPDATE: I received an email from building management stating that the manager of Pete's Plumbing contacted the plumber who performed the services and he corroborated my story. They decided to write off the invoice completely. Ultimately, I'm glad that the issue is resolved, however I've decided to leave my initial review above, as the process was more aggravating than it should have been and I feel it is best to warn future customers of the shenanigans I endured.

We have had a few plumbing issues over the years, and could not be more pleased than we have been with Pete's Plumbing. They show up when they say they will, and clean up after they're done. During this time of COVID 19, Josh arrived wearing a mask, used hand sanitizer before he came in the house, and respected social distancing. The job was tedious and frustrating, but he persevered and kept his cool. Thank goodness there are still businesses like Pete's Plumbing!

Pete's Plumbing is an excellent company. They are very professional and honest. We have used them for about 20 years.
Pete's Plumbing saved the day. After 8 days of no hot water dealing with a different plumber, i had enough and called Pete's. They had someone out within two hours to fix the water heater. I appreciate the fast response and quick service...and that they got the water heater working again on the same day.
Very bad experience with Pete's Plumbing! From the minute the technician walked into our door he complained and accused us of not being forthright about what services we needed. He made us feel like we did something wrong even though we made sure to go over the services we needed when we made the appt.
Then, when he was leaving did not leave us an invoice asked to call the company and give them our credit card info so they could charge our card. We had no idea what our total was going to be. I had to call and ask them to email me an invoice and look at all the charges.
Also, please make sure to look over invoices and check exactly what you have been charged for if using their services.
Would highly recommend using another plumping company.
I've had Pete's out several times to do various repairs and they have always been exceptional. This last visit, Tony saved my life from a leak that was Deteriorating my walls slowly over time. In just an hour he fixed the shower leak, shower pressure and kitchen sink/faucet.... leaving me with peace of mind knowing all was well.

We contacted Pete's Plumbing because our kitchen faucet was leaking water under water under our sink. Two of their plumbers came out at the scheduled appointment time two days letter. Both of them were polite and courteous. One plumber proceeded to replace our worn out kitchen faucet while the other replaced the bath tub hardware in one of our bathrooms. The work was accomplished in a timely manner and it was apparent that they knew what they were doing.
However, a few days later my wife noticed that the new faucet was leaking water under the sink. I phoned Pete's about the leak and they promptly sent another plumber (Frank) out to fix the problem. Frank determined that an O-ring in the new faucet was crimped and causing the leak. While Frank was still there, I phoned the faucet manufacturer and Frank spoke with their representative. As a result, the manufacturer's rep. agreed to send us a new faucet.
Once we received the new faucet, Pete's sent Frank out again to replace the faulty (new) faucet. Frank installed the 2nd new faucet and we thought the leaking problem was solved. However, a few days later my wife again noticed a water leak under the sink. I contacted Pete's and Frank was sent out again. He checked the 2nd new faucet and discovered the same type of problem as before......a bad O-ring was responsible for the leak. Frank advised us that he would try to find another O-ring that would fit and then he would return at a later date to make the repair.
On his next visit, instead of a replacement O-ring he had two new faucets from a different manufacturer. He said that we could take our choice of the two faucets and then he would install whatever we selected. We made a choice and then Frank proceeded to install a 2nd replacement faucet. This all happened over a month ago and the new faucet from a different manufacturer is working just fine. Verdict?
We are 100% satisfied with Pete's Plumbing and the work performed by their capable plumbers......especially Frank. Frank impressed me as the most knowledgeable and capable plumber that I have ever met (and I've been around a long time and dealt with a fair share of plumbing issues). Just like the earlier plumbers from Pete's, Frank was polite, courteous, and friendly.
In addition to having polite and capable plumbers, I appreciate the fact that Pete's Plumbing stood behind their work 100% and did what was right. No charges were made for all the extra trips and work performed by Frank (who I suspect is one of their top plumbers).
We are glad that we called Pete's Plumbing. If it was possible to give them a 10-star rating rather than 5 stars, I would. Everyone in their organization is polite and friendly and they strive to keep the customer happy. I recommend Pete's Plumbing highly. We will definitely phone Pete's for all of our future plumbing needs.
Wow. The Pete's Plumbing team is just absolutely amazing. The people answering the phones: Venessa and Dave, were professional and responsive. The tech Frank with 28 years of experience with Pete's was a true pleasure to work with. He knows the hydronic heating system like the back of his hand. Our floor furnace from our 1940ish home broke. It would not emit any heat. We were worried about carbon monoxide emissions so we called gas dept and they came out and said there was a clog in the furnace and needed it serviced. Frank came out and he was punctual, informative and thorough. The price was reasonable and turn around time was quick. I highly recommend.
Pete's Plumbing was recommended to me a couple years ago when I needed an under-counter water filter installed. Each person I spoke with at Petes Plumbing was super professional as well as knowledgeable and seemed to care.
This weekend I had an issue with my water heater and of course there was no doubt who to call...Pete's Plumbing of course. The experience was not the same...it was even better, hard to believe these days, right?

With so many plumbers to choose from in the Long Beach area, it was hard to pick one when we ran into a shower emergency. We are really glad that we went with Pete's Plumbing. I had Pete's Plumbing redo my bathroom. They installed a new Tub, enclosure and shower. They did a fantastic job, they were on time cleaned up when they were done and the price was the best we could find. Flawless job all around. They will be my first call when needing a plumber. I've been using Pete's Plumbing for 4 years now. I have never had a bad experience. Josh is the guy who usually come and is stellar. I'm always reluctant to have anyone 'new' come by once I have found a good person but just had Ray and Pedro over who were also amazing (on New Year's Eve, last minute!). They fixed my water heater with ease, explained the process, showed me what the problem was and gave me an idea of the remaining lifespan of the heater (estimate, of course).
I cannot recommend Pete's plumbing enough. They're not the cheapest out there but you definitely get what you pay for. Worth every penny.

I have used Petes plumbing for years. They have always shown up on time (within the three hour window). Every time work is done, they have given me the option of fixing the current problem or going with a new one. The guys complete the work fast, efficient, and correctly. My experiences have been good and I am very happy to have Petes plumbing as an HONEST, competent and reliable business to call upon for my plumbing needs.
Had an old garbage disposal replaced with a new one. On time, on budget, great job. Super dependable and professional. Our go to plumber from now on.

I have used Pete's Plumbing for many years. They have repaired and replaced almost every plumbing fixture in my home. I have never had a problem, they are always courteous and accommodating. I would recommend their services to everyone, residential or commercial.
What a joke, I hate that I have to give them a star. Patty will tell you that they charge $85/hour; but there is a catch--that rate does not cover any actual plumbing. As it turns out, most standard jobs have rates that FAR exceed their estimates and that says nothing about their exorbitant material charges. Plan on paying double. Here is their business model, lowball you over the phone and then surprise you with SIGNIFICANT up-charges on the invoice. In a word, Pete's Plumbing is dishonest.
I was looking for a reputable company that would service the two natural gas gravity heating units in our 1938 Belmont Park home.
One heater worked fine, but the other was inoperable. Further, we wanted to get an opinion if the aging heaters should be replaced or if they would be serviceable in the future.
I called a couple of area air conditioning/heating companies but they declined to service them. After a Yelp & Google search, I can upon Pete's Plumbing, who advertise their expertise in gravity heaters.
Upon calling, I explained what I wanted to the office staff, and they offered me a next day appointment, promising to send out a technician who was well versed with with our equipment.
Julio and Mike arrived early within the appointment window and after I gave them a rundown of the issues they started their work.
After an assessment, they told me if it was their house, they would not replace the heaters. The working heater was in fine shape, but the non working heater needed to be rebuilt, as the gas valve was inoperative. Their stated price & turnaround time was reasonable and I agreed to the proceed with the rebuild.
Julio and Mike decided that removing the entire heating unit (floor) made the most sense to them so after about an hour, the entire unit was removed and in their van. I was told I would be called in a couple of days so it could be reinstalled.
The next day, mid-morning the front office called and advised the rebuild was complete and ready to re-install. Not being busy at the time, I told them anytime was good. Julio was at my door about 30 minutes later.
A short time later the unit was reinstalled and working complete with a new wall thermostat.
Julio and Mike were very squared away and friendly, and they didn't seem to mind my constant questions.
I plan to use Pete's plumbing for servicing my heaters in the future and probable my plumbing needs too.

Frank at Pete's Plumbing is the best! He showed up at the time he said he would to give me an estimate that was $900.00 LESS than the estimate I had gotten from a different company. On the day of the job, Frank and Julio showed up early, completed the job an hour faster than originally estimated (I was paying them by the hour), and then Frank came back later to make sure the pipe repair job was holding. I will always call Pete's Plumbing and not bother with getting multiple estimates.

We were definitely not impressed with our latest experience with Pete's Plumbing. We had a problem pop up out of nowhere and called multiple companies. Pete's was the only one that could come out in the next few days. During our scheduled appointment time, they guy from Pete's never showed up, so we had to call Pete's to find out where the guy was. He then showed up after the scheduled time window. Looked at the problem and said we'd have to be scheduled again for someone to fix it. We were not informed over the phone that they would just be sending someone out to look at the problem. Well, that appointment was scheduled for over a week out - so here we had a problem for two weeks and couldn't use a major household appliance/area of the house the entire time. The day finally arrived, where the problem would be fixed and again, the Pete's pluming guy never showed up! We had to call again asking where the person was who was supposed to show up and fix this problem. Finally, someone showed up hours after the scheduled time window. They later sent a bill a few weeks later. Used to be that you payed the day of service. The problem was fixed, but it seemed like there was lack of communication between the customer, Pete's plumbing workers, and the management/booking. Pete's used to be known as the best in town, but after our last experience, I would not recommend them. I see where the business owner gets on here and responds to people who have left reviews, especially low rated reviews. I'm sure they will have something to say and deny half of what I wrote, but the above described experience really did happen and I would not be making this stuff up. I see where there are quite a few poor rated reviews here with similar experiences.

My association is contracted with these guys, so we had no choice but to have them inspect our main drain line in our kitchen. Long story short, we just needed a drain cleaning. Julio came by and tried to up-sale us by telling us the issue was elsewhere, we needed more then just a drain clean. When we declined, he left abruptly. I got a second opinion by a different local plumber. He came by cleaned the drain. Issue resolved.
A WEEK LATER, MY ASSOCIATION NOTIFIES ME THAT PETES PLUMBING CHARGED US FOR BEING THERE FOR 1 1/2 HRS....MY GOODNESS...HE WAS BARELY THERE FOR 15 MIN!!!!

I was referenced to Petes by my neighbor after I told him about my clogged kitchen sink. After talking with very friendly sales representative I had a technicians team at my door in about 10 minutes. Technicians was very professional, friendly and straight to the point. They fixed everything in very clean manner and gave helpful recommendation on upcoming replacements with no push for additional services. Will recommend highly recommend them if anybody needs very professional and affordable plumer services.

After the last job, I will no longer use Pete's Plumbing. They installed a cheap water heater for the price they charged. You also pay for a second person who just stands around basically doing nothing. They used to be my plumber for the longest time. Not any more. Time to find a honest plumber.
Petes Plumbing isn't very good in getting required permits. Matter of fact, we believed they were hoping property owners didn't know about permit requirements. They were surprised when we asked about permit & inspections. They aren't very good in completing their work & having to finish their job either. We were even willing to pay more to have them complete work as we would like. We called, they promised to call & set schedule, but never did. Thank goodness we only have them do portion of the project. We should have stayed with our regular plumber, Affordable Rooter. Shame on us.

Today must've been a bad day for Pete's plumbing, As I see there's another negative review for today. This morning I spoke with Ron but I was driving and I said I would call him back. I called back and spoke with a Vanessa and then called back again and spoke with a Wyatt. It's 5:42 pm and I'm still waiting for a phone call. They came out on Thursday to address a plumbing issue and as of today the issue is still not resolved. A simple call to communicate with me is all it would've taken. I did my part by calling three times.
Awful service and extremely unprofessional. Find a better alternative.

Pete's Plumbing 's owner was so unprofessional today on the phone.Her lack of interest in customer service was obvious to me. Her office made a mistake in sending a crew to a house I am selling. Firstly they had
the telephone number of the person I paid to sit there for 2 hours and wait for the crew. They should have called and cancelled if they were not going to do the work. Secondly when I insisted they do the job they walked in for 1 minute and said I needed an entire house re pipe. Be accountable for your mistakes Pete's I will never recommend you again!
Plumbing problems can really suck and I discovered I had one. In searching for a plumber I found Pete's and saw they were right here in Signal Hill, so I called them. Turns out their prices were very reasonable when compared to the larger name brand plumbing companies too.

They came out and ran their powered auger / snake down the main sewer line, cleared the clog, packed up and headed to the next job. Unfortunately 3 months later I had to call them for the same problem again. They ran their auger / snake and cleared the clog again, then, per my request, they ran a camera down the sewer line to see what the issue was. The problem was what I feared: tree roots! He changed to a more aggressive cutting bit and ran the snake down the line again. He wasn't able to remove all of the roots, but he did make a bigger whole through them at least.
After now knowing what the problem was, I didn't want to have this issue again, so I removed the offending tree in my front yard! While I had them come back a couple times for other jobs, I have not had any problems since!
The guys that came out each time were always friendly, very pleasant and got the job done in a reasonable time.
OVERALL: If you need a plumber in the Signal Hill, Long Beach, Lakewood area, Pete's Plumbing are the guys for you!

For the second time they are a NO show with no phone call saying they are running late. Must be nice to waste people's time and make them loose money because we have to take off work early to meet you.
Update 3-15-13 now they call wanting to schedule for my whole house repiping but I told them I went elsewhere and the lady on the phone says what did you do that for? and I explained the situation to her again and asked her what she would have done in my shoes. Only thing I heard after that was a dial tone.

I started to use Pete's Plumbing about 4 years ago when I had a break in a water line and a leak in a gas line simultaneously. They were able to get someone out faster than I hoped and faster then other plumbers I contacted, including one I had worked with for years. They did the work quickly, quietly, and cleaned up after themselves, and everything worked at a reasonable price. Since then I have used them for all our plumbing needs and have been fully satisfied with the quality of the work, the cost, and professionalism of their staff. In fact, I called them again today and that is what prompted me to write this review.
I just have to say I'm a very satisfied customer. We had a job done last week and they did an awesome job. Frank and his crew were very informative, professional, clean and all smiles:)
I refer them to anyone who has a plumbing job.

This is probably the only plumber I trust right now. It is in my home city signal hill so convenient. You call and get pleasant help. Prices are the same probably as everywhere else. Grunion coupons occasionally for this place. Haven't had any complaints about this place lately.
I hired Pete's to do a small job in my condo bathroom. New shower knobs and hook up a second sink. The work they did was good, no complaints. But when the bill arrived I was shocked to see the markup they put on their parts. For example: A standard sink hose that sells for $5 at home depot was $15.95. A standard T adapter that also sells for $5 at home depot was $21.95. I understand that markup is normal, but 300% markup seems downright ridiculous.

Great experience! Josh came out and was well within the allotted window of time. He was really friendly, professional, and helpful. He was knowledgeable and fixed both our garbage disposal/sink leak and also our toilet issue easily and quickly. I was able to ask him questions and he explained options thoroughly. I have to agree with the other reviewers who have been scammed by this company. I used to use Pete's Plumbing for any plumbing issues that I had. A few years ago, I had a problem with them, and I stopped using them. A few weeks ago, I had a clogged kitchen sink. My normal plumber couldn't come out for several days. I called Pete's, and they told me that it was $94 to unclog the drain, and they would come out that afternoon. Ron came to my unit. He is very friendly, and he quickly unclogged the drain (in a matter of minutes.) He then stood around and talked about the new president and his policies for some time. Yesterday, I received a bill for $117, which amounted to a 1.25 hours of work. When I initially called, they never told me that they charge hourly. They quoted me a flat rate of $94. Ron was absolutely not in my unit for an hour and fifteen minutes, and the vast majority of the time that he was there, he was talking, not working. I called today to have them rectify the situation. Patty, the office manager, took the call. Her customer service skills are completely lacking. She told me that they were charging me what the invoice said, regardless of what they told me on the phone and regardless of how long the plumber was in my unit, he wrote down that he was there for 1.25 hours. Completely dishonest, and I will not be using them again.

Over priced but i guess we lack of plumber in long beach so they gotta take advantage of it.
Pete's changed my faucet and some angle stops under my kitchen sink. I live in a condo, so that usually requires the shut off of the building water or stack and waiting for everything to drain. Julio was the technician, and honestly, they were quick, efficient, the work was quality (so far ;) lol) and very reasonable in comparison to other plumbers in the area. We use them for our condo building, but I didn't have any personal experience with them. A friend of mine (a carpenter) had a job that required a skilled plumber and had hired Pete's and said they did a phenomenal job on a very complicated set up and commercial system they needed repairing. If this guy says someone is good, they are (he is highly skilled himself and a perfectionist). After hearing him say this about them, I decided to have Pete's do my faucet too, and as you read in the beginning--great job. Faucet swap of course is super simple--UNTIL 1) you factor in draining the building and 2) changing out OLD dated angle stops (1 piece, and they easily break over time from the sheer movement of them--so even if you have no problems, when you go to change them out, they can break and if the water is not properly shut off or drained--problem!)
Thanks much Pete's and Julio, and a shout out to Frankie who has been overseeing our building for years. So, for Pete's sake!! (see what I did there?? lol) give these guys a call!

We contacted Pete's Plumbing because our kitchen faucet was leaking water under water under our sink. Two of their plumbers came out at the scheduled appointment time two days letter. Both of them were polite and courteous. One plumber proceeded to replace our worn out kitchen faucet while the other replaced the bath tub hardware in one of our bathrooms. The work was accomplished in a timely manner and it was apparent that they knew what they were doing.
However, a few days later my wife noticed that the new faucet was leaking water under the sink. I phoned Pete's about the leak and they promptly sent another plumber (Frank) out to fix the problem. Frank determined that an O-ring in the new faucet was crimped and causing the leak. While Frank was still there, I phoned the faucet manufacturer and Frank spoke with their representative. As a result, the manufacturer's rep. agreed to send us a new faucet.
Once we received the new faucet, Pete's sent Frank out again to replace the faulty (new) faucet. Frank installed the 2nd new faucet and we thought the leaking problem was solved. However, a few days later my wife again noticed a water leak under the sink. I contacted Pete's and Frank was sent out again. He checked the 2nd new faucet and discovered the same type of problem as before......a bad O-ring was responsible for the leak. Frank advised us that he would try to find another O-ring that would fit and then he would return at a later date to make the repair.
On his next visit, instead of a replacement O-ring he had two new faucets from a different manufacturer. He said that we could take our choice of the two faucets and then he would install whatever we selected. We made a choice and then Frank proceeded to install a 2nd replacement faucet. This all happened over a month ago and the new faucet from a different manufacturer is working just fine. Verdict?
We are 100% satisfied with Pete's Plumbing and the work performed by their capable plumbers......especially Frank. Frank impressed me as the most knowledgeable and capable plumber that I have ever met (and I've been around a long time and dealt with a fair share of plumbing issues). Just like the earlier plumbers from Pete's, Frank was polite, courteous, and friendly.
In addition to having polite and capable plumbers, I appreciate the fact that Pete's Plumbing stood behind their work 100% and did what was right. No charges were made for all the extra trips and work performed by Frank (who I suspect is one of their top plumbers).
We are glad that we called Pete's Plumbing. If it was possible to give them a 10-star rating rather than 5 stars, I would. Everyone in their organization is polite and friendly and they strive to keep the customer happy. I recommend Pete's Plumbing highly. We will definitely phone Pete's for all of our future plumbing needs.

During a recent plumbing crisis during the busiest time of the year, Thanksgiving, Pete's Plumbing supported us throughout the whole ordeal. Kudos to Sam, thank you Sam for being patient and professional and most importantly fixing the plumbing problem. Plus a huge thank you to Patty; your quality of service is so appreciated.
I think they are under new management. I made arrangements for someone to come out and give us an estimate for a new water heater. The next day we got a strange call from a woman saying that the plumber had come and left. However, 15 minutes later he showed up and looked at our water heater, and said that he would send us the estimate the following day. It's been two days and still no estimate and unable to get in touch with anyone. I don't think it is the plumbers' fault. Looking at the other reviews, I think they are just very disorganized in the office. They used to be good in the past, but I'll be looking for a new plumbing company.
With so many plumbers to choose from in the Long Beach area, it was hard to pick one when we ran into a shower emergency. We are really glad that we went with Pete's Plumbing. They were able to schedule something for us quickly and arrived on time! The service was great and the cost was reasonable. Chris was very professional and thorough. I would definitely recommened them!

Pete's has done nearly every plumbing job possible in my 1924 bungalow over the past seven years. I believe their prices are competitive and their plumbers courteous and efficient. And NO plumber's butt! A plus!!!
Stereotypical plumbing experience: made an appointment, but they never showed. Said my appointment was not placed on their board. Asked when I wanted to re-schedule!! I pushed them and asked for a discount if I re-booked. Was told they best they could do was 10-percent. Ten-percent is somehow supposed to make up for lost time at work and having to take off even more work.
I've used Pete's through the years. Always great job. They give you options for your job needed. Very knowledgable and fair priced. Will definitely be back. Thank you.
What a joke, I hate that I have to give them a star. Patty will tell you that they charge $85/hour; but there is a catch--that rate does not cover any actual plumbing. As it turns out, most standard jobs have rates that FAR exceed their estimates and that says nothing about their exorbitant material charges. Plan on paying double. Here is their business model, lowball you over the phone and then surprise you with SIGNIFICANT up-charges on the invoice. In a word, Pete's Plumbing is dishonest.

We were definitely not impressed with our latest experience with Pete's Plumbing. We had a problem pop up out of nowhere and called multiple companies. Pete's was the only one that could come out in the next few days. During our scheduled appointment time, they guy from Pete's never showed up, so we had to call Pete's to find out where the guy was. He then showed up after the scheduled time window. Looked at the problem and said we'd have to be scheduled again for someone to fix it. We were not informed over the phone that they would just be sending someone out to look at the problem. Well, that appointment was scheduled for over a week out - so here we had a problem for two weeks and couldn't use a major household appliance/area of the house the entire time. The day finally arrived, where the problem would be fixed and again, the Pete's pluming guy never showed up! We had to call again asking where the person was who was supposed to show up and fix this problem. Finally, someone showed up hours after the scheduled time window. They later sent a bill a few weeks later. Used to be that you payed the day of service. The problem was fixed, but it seemed like there was lack of communication between the customer, Pete's plumbing workers, and the management/booking. Pete's used to be known as the best in town, but after our last experience, I would not recommend them. I see where the business owner gets on here and responds to people who have left reviews, especially low rated reviews. I'm sure they will have something to say and deny half of what I wrote, but the above described experience really did happen and I would not be making this stuff up. I see where there are quite a few poor rated reviews here with similar experiences.
I've had to deal with Pete's because my apartment contracts through them. They have broken my sink pedestal, forgot to install a cover on a bathroom hole and left a toilet wobbly and had to come back to fix it. Their negligence has led me to have to pay for my neighbors ceiling repairs twice. And to top it all off today the gentleman little lady'd me very rudely when I asked why a sink was clogged. Awful.

Left in the lurch and presented with a bill: That was our experience with Pete's Plumbing.
If you have an emergency, DO NOT call these people. We had a serious flood and put in a request for help, specifically asking for a call-back to let us know how long the wait would be since we had to get someone to help right away. We never received that call and turned to the fire department after a follow-up call to Pete's also yielded no response. About an hour later the plumber from Pete's showed up. Fortunately, the problem was solved by then. When I asked the plumber why he didn't phone me, as requested, he insisted he did, but my phone log shows otherwise (and verifies our long wait). Soon afterward we received a large bill for... nothing.
Great experience with Pete's Plumbing yesterday! Josh was super nice and fixed the problem with our shower handle that my husband and I had been trying to fix for a month in like 10 min!

I was looking for a reputable company that would service the two natural gas gravity heating units in our 1938 Belmont Park home.
One heater worked fine, but the other was inoperable. Further, we wanted to get an opinion if the aging heaters should be replaced or if they would be serviceable in the future.
I called a couple of area air conditioning/heating companies but they declined to service them. After a Yelp & Google search, I can upon Pete's Plumbing, who advertise their expertise in gravity heaters.
Upon calling, I explained what I wanted to the office staff, and they offered me a next day appointment, promising to send out a technician who was well versed with with our equipment.
Julio and Mike arrived early within the appointment window and after I gave them a rundown of the issues they started their work.
After an assessment, they told me if it was their house, they would not replace the heaters. The working heater was in fine shape, but the non working heater needed to be rebuilt, as the gas valve was inoperative. Their stated price & turnaround time was reasonable and I agreed to the proceed with the rebuild.
Julio and Mike decided that removing the entire heating unit (floor) made the most sense to them so after about an hour, the entire unit was removed and in their van. I was told I would be called in a couple of days so it could be reinstalled.
The next day, mid-morning the front office called and advised the rebuild was complete and ready to re-install. Not being busy at the time, I told them anytime was good. Julio was at my door about 30 minutes later.
A short time later the unit was reinstalled and working complete with a new wall thermostat.
Julio and Mike were very squared away and friendly, and they didn't seem to mind my constant questions.
I plan to use Pete's plumbing for servicing my heaters in the future and probable my plumbing needs too.

We have had a few plumbing issues over the years, and could not be more pleased than we have been with Pete's Plumbing. They show up when they say they will, and clean up after they're done. During this time of COVID 19, Josh arrived wearing a mask, used hand sanitizer before he came in the house, and respected social distancing. The job was tedious and frustrating, but he persevered and kept his cool. Thank goodness there are still businesses like Pete's Plumbing!

Flawless execution.
First visit, they didn't have a flapper for the toilet nor the hardware to replace a leaky bathroom faucet even though I had told them what I wanted done beforehand. So they came a second time. This time they had the parts and did a good job installing them. But to clean up the black mess from the pipes, they used my bathroom towel and still left a mess for me to clean up. Living in a condo, I then found out they had parked in the entrance way to the communal garage, blocking half of it. The complaints from other residents started coming in once they left. Those little things were enough to make me not want to have them back. Too bad, I'm on the board and we're looking for a plumbing company to service our 52-unit building. It won't be them.

I was referenced to Petes by my neighbor after I told him about my clogged kitchen sink. After talking with very friendly sales representative I had a technicians team at my door in about 10 minutes. Technicians was very professional, friendly and straight to the point. They fixed everything in very clean manner and gave helpful recommendation on upcoming replacements with no push for additional services. Will recommend highly recommend them if anybody needs very professional and affordable plumer services.

These people are criminals, do not use them.
They asked me to lie to the gas company to get my gas turned back on so they could come back and find and fix our gas leak. The gas company told me that it is ILLEGAL to find a gas leak with gas, they have to use compressed air. I fired them and kicked them off my property. They will not receive a dime from us.
I've been using Pete's Plumbing for 25 years. They have installed copper plumbing, done heater repairs, fixed toilets, replaced water heaters, cleared the main line and cleaned out more drains than I can count. They are always honest when giving estimates for work, including telling you if there is a less expensive option. I have called them on holidays and weekends....always get a call right back. They show up on time and clean up when they leave. They also guarantee their work....it's rare, but they will come back if there is the need to do so.
Emergency plumbing situations are the worst, but Horacio (sorry if I misspelled that ), was the absolute best I could've asked for. He was helpful, answered all 159+ of my questions, respectful, neat, and solved my problem! Thank you Pete's and Horacio!
I just have to say I'm a very satisfied customer. We had a job done last week and they did an awesome job. Frank and his crew were very informative, professional, clean and all smiles:)

Pete's Plumbing was recommended to me a couple years ago when I needed an under-counter water filter installed. Each person I spoke with at Petes Plumbing was super professional as well as knowledgeable and seemed to care.
This weekend I had an issue with my water heater and of course there was no doubt who to call...Pete's Plumbing of course. The experience was not the same...it was even better, hard to believe these days, right?
I found out that many of the employees have been with the company many years, so that tells me even more that I chose the right plumbers.

I have used Pete's a few times for small projects. Last week I had a gas leak and was shut down by the City. I called Pete's and they were here within the hour and a few days later I had all new piping. They did a great job. They show up on time and are clean. I will call them for all my plumbing issues. Price is competitive.
We've used Pete's Plumbing over the years with no complaints. I usually don't write reviews, but these guys are good. We had a hot water pipe break and it probably had beeen leaking for some time. They were prompt, did the work and even were less than the original quote. I would recommend them
I recently had Pete's Plumbing come and unplug my kitchen sink. I was overbilled for the service and it was the 2nd time this has happened. I had to call to correct this and they did, but it bothers me that it has happened twice now in a span of 16 months. What are the odds? For my last visit, I was quoted a standard rate of $106 to unclog my sink. The bill came to $172. There were 1.5 hours of labor added. The plumber was in and out of my house in less than 15min. I don't understand how there can be such a discrepancy??? And it's the 2nd time this has happened. 2 stars for this poor billing service that errs on their side. invoice #136207

Miguel and Jose just left. They were really great. They fixed our old toilet valve quickly and efficiently, and were very clean and organized. They were super polite and I really appreciate their considerate manner. Our flushing valve broke at 4 am this morning and I spoke with their representative (super nice!) at 8 am. Miguel and Jose then arrived at 9:30 and fixed everything right away. VERY GOOD RATES as well. It is really a relief to have a plumber arrive quickly, fix the problem easily, and then charge what is a very reasonable rate. We recommend Pete's Plumbing to anyone in Long Beach.
Petes Plumbing isn't very good in getting required permits. Matter of fact, we believed they were hoping property owners didn't know about permit requirements. They were surprised when we asked about permit & inspections. They aren't very good in completing their work & having to finish their job either. We were even willing to pay more to have them complete work as we would like. We called, they promised to call & set schedule, but never did. Thank goodness we only have them do portion of the project. We should have stayed with our regular plumber, Affordable Rooter. Shame on us.

Our HOA called Petes Plumbing to inspect and diagnose a leak in a second floor unit that was believed to be coming from our third floor unit. When we first spoke with the plumber, he had not inspected inside the ceiling of 2nd floor unit at the time they decided that the 3rd floor must reset a toilet guessing that a leak in the seal was the issue. We then called and spoke with the general manager, who was nice and responsive (many thanks to Patricia). It was only after the GM spoke with the plumber, Ron, and called us back that we were advised the plumber had opened the 2nd floor ceiling and found it was the 3rd floor toilet leaking. After the information from the GM and discussing, we agreed to the toilet reset but the plumber refused to do the work though he was still on property. This seems poor customer service as well as poor handling by the HOA.

I had Pete's Plumbing redo my bathroom. They installed a new Tub, enclosure and shower. They did a fantastic job, they were on time cleaned up when they were done and the price was the best we could find. Flawless job all around. They will be my first call when needing a plumber. Highly Recommended.

I am very disappointed with this company. Their hourly fee was cheaper than the other local plumbers; however, what is not mentioned is that the $98 or more that is charged for diagnostic services is not deducted from the bill if they do the job. I never had a service estimate as a separate bill from the job. The 10 minutes in my condo was still billed for the full hour.
I will inform my condo management company of this policy so they can inform the residents in the future who call them for local plumbing companies.
We had an emergency and they had someone to our home in HB in 30 min, fixed in 3 min and the guy was safe, kind and fast! Highly recommend!

Pete's Plumbing was recommended to me by my neighbor. I had a clogged sewer line and was looking for a plumber that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg.... I spoke to a wonderful office representative named Rochelle. She was extremely nice and was able to accommodate sending someone out that day, she also quoted their price for doing the work over the phone. .very reasonable pricing.
Around the time of my appointment It was pouring rain; however and I received a call from a representative of Pete's plumbing stating that due to safety reasons their technician would be out as soon as it stopped raining.. When their technician Joshua, did come he was extremely friendly and professional. The job was completed in less than 1 hour. The whole experience definitely exceeded my expectations. I am a very happy customer of Pete's Plumbing.
I did not get the repair man s name, but he was on time, very polite, and helped me with two different concerns I had ,with both my furnace and my dryer.I would definitely recomend them. I was very happy with the time it took to address both problems. And he was a Steeler Fan, so I already liked him. Also the price was very reasonable. Thank you

After the last job, I will no longer use Pete's Plumbing. They installed a cheap water heater for the price they charged. You also pay for a second person who just stands around basically doing nothing. They used to be my plumber for the longest time. Not any more. Time to find a honest plumber.
I've been using Pete's Plumbing for 4 years now. I have never had a bad experience. Josh is the guy who usually come and is stellar. I'm always reluctant to have anyone 'new' come by once I have found a good person but just had Ray and Pedro over who were also amazing (on New Year's Eve, last minute!). They fixed my water heater with ease, explained the process, showed me what the problem was and gave me an idea of the remaining lifespan of the heater (estimate, of course).
I cannot recommend Pete's plumbing enough. They're not the cheapest out there but you definitely get what you pay for. Worth every penny.
So we had major water damage in our residence and Pete's Plumbing came out as soon as they could to stop the water leak. Miquel and Jose did a fine job. However, what was most impressive was the fact that Frank the supervisor came out and did a very thorough job inspecting all supply and drain lines and found issues that needed attention. Frank was extremely courteous, professional and took his time in explaining the issues at hand.
Let's be Frank, he is a great asset for Pete's Plumbing !!

When I set up the appointment they mentioned that it might be possible a total re-build would be needed and they quote that upfront as it is $750. Two men came out and barely spent any time inspecting my heater. They quickly went right to the re-build option and quoted me $750. I explained that the heater lit last year and that I didn't think a complete re-build was needed. They stood by their assessment and I declined. It seemed like they go right to the re-build with customers and don't even put in the effort needed to avoid that. They got my $80 for the service call though. I would not recommend them for heater services.
I called another company who was able to resolve the issue within 20 minutes of actually looking at the unit. No re-build needed.

I used Pete's for a gas line repair from the gas meter. They had to come out several times because they could not determine if there was a leak in the gas line. In doing so, one guy made several mistakes and appeared to not understand how to determine if there was a leak. After several attempts (three calls) Pete's finally sent another plumber. While the first plumber apologized for his inadequate service, the company still charged me for two call backs even though it was their mistake. The new plumber assessed that I had several leaks under the house that would require several thousands of dollars in repairs. It was evident that he was not truthful as in our conversation he kept adding additional costs. When I got a second opinion from another plumbing company, there test under the house found zero leaks and the test passed the city requirements. When I contacted Pete's to complain about the numerous service call charges and misinformation, they refused to remove any costs. Will never use of recommend this company.

Plumbing problems can really suck and I discovered I had one. In searching for a plumber I found Pete's and saw they were right here in Signal Hill, so I called them. Turns out their prices were very reasonable when compared to the larger name brand plumbing companies too.

They came out and ran their powered auger / snake down the main sewer line, cleared the clog, packed up and headed to the next job. Unfortunately 3 months later I had to call them for the same problem again. They ran their auger / snake and cleared the clog again, then, per my request, they ran a camera down the sewer line to see what the issue was. The problem was what I feared: tree roots! He changed to a more aggressive cutting bit and ran the snake down the line again. He wasn't able to remove all of the roots, but he did make a bigger whole through them at least.
After now knowing what the problem was, I didn't want to have this issue again, so I removed the offending tree in my front yard! While I had them come back a couple times for other jobs, I have not had any problems since!
The guys that came out each time were always friendly, very pleasant and got the job done in a reasonable time.
OVERALL: If you need a plumber in the Signal Hill, Long Beach, Lakewood area, Pete's Plumbing are the guys for you!

We contacted Pete's Plumbing for the first time based on their great Yelp reviews. Frank came to our house to do a free assessment - he was very knowledgeable and offered a creative solution for replacing our water heater and raising it off the ground per our request. We also asked him to include several smaller plumbing projects throughout the house. We received the quote and gave the Ok to proceed. Frank, Horacio and David arrived on schedule and were very professional, friendly, and easy to work with. Everyone made sure all aspects of the job were done just right and they went above and beyond by helping and accommodating special requests such as allowing us to repaint the wall before installation. We required some follow-up due to the lead time on some parts so Frank came back to take care of all remaining items. We highly recommend them!
Very bad experience with Pete's Plumbing! From the minute the technician walked into our door he complained and accused us of not being forthright about what services we needed. He made us feel like we did something wrong even though we made sure to go over the services we needed when we made the appt.
Then, when he was leaving did not leave us an invoice asked to call the company and give them our credit card info so they could charge our card. We had no idea what our total was going to be. I had to call and ask them to email me an invoice and look at all the charges.
Also, please make sure to look over invoices and check exactly what you have been charged for if using their services.
Would highly recommend using another plumping company.

Pete's did an excellent job. Frank came out to my apartment today and was extremely professional and friendly. I can tell he has a good heart. He fixed the problem right away, in and out in about 15 mins and arrived EARLY! That is usually unheard of with these types of services. Frank, if you're reading this - you're awesome!
Recently Pete's Plumbing was investigating a leak in the parking garage below the multi-unit building in which I reside, and they came to my door unannounced and asked to enter my unit to snake the drain behind my washing machine. I live on the ground floor so it is easiest to access such clogs from my unit. I allowed the plumber to enter my unit and perform the work at hand.
The plumber assessed that the issue was due to the building's shared drainage and that it would be the building management's responsibility to pay for the services rendered. Unfortunately, an invoice was sent to me personally stating that it was my responsibility. This was upsetting, as the plumber who actually performed the work had told me otherwise. Thankfully, there was another tenant present to witness the plumbers original diagnosis...so I assumed if I spoke with the management of Pete's Plumbing that we would be able to quickly resolve the issue and re-issue the bill to the responsible party, building management.
I spoke with the manager of Pete's Plumbing directly over the phone, and she stated that the plumber told her differently....AND that he no longer works with Pete's Plumbing. I informed her that there is another tenant that witnessed the plumbers original diagnosis, alas she continues stand by the invoice which directly opposes the plumbers original diagnosis.
Ultimately, my only options are to pay the bill or bring the issue to an HOA board meeting and plead for them to pay the bill should they see fit. Both options, not optimal, in my opinion.
In the end, this yelp review will have to suffice. If you plan on patronizing Pete's Plumbing, I'd advise you get a copy of the work order from the plumber to protect yourself against the issue I had. As there is little room for discussion with the management when issues such as this arrise.
UPDATE: I received an email from building management stating that the manager of Pete's Plumbing contacted the plumber who performed the services and he corroborated my story. They decided to write off the invoice completely. Ultimately, I'm glad that the issue is resolved, however I've decided to leave my initial review above, as the process was more aggravating than it should have been and I feel it is best to warn future customers of the shenanigans I endured.

We are repeat customers. Have used this company a few times. Reliable, professional, and very competitive prices. Even saved me some big bucks on occasion. Always called for plumbing issues then found out they repaired heating. Called them out. So glad i did. The wife and I have a new saying. Annnd, that's why we call Pete's.
Ron came out to do a job for us. He was on-time, friendly and did a great job. We are starting a remodel on our kitchen soon and we will for sure be calling Ron back.
I use Pete's plumbing for all my properties. Very professional & dependable. Have been using them for 20+ years. Highly recommend.
Our HOA called Petes Plumbing to inspect and diagnose a leak in a second floor unit that was believed to be coming from our third floor unit. When we first spoke with the plumber, he had not inspected inside the ceiling of 2nd floor unit at the time they decided that the 3rd floor must reset a toilet guessing that a leak in the seal was the issue. We then called and spoke with the general manager, who was nice and responsive (many thanks to Patricia). It was only after the GM spoke with the plumber, Ron, and called us back that we were advised the plumber had opened the 2nd floor ceiling and found it was the 3rd floor toilet leaking. After the information from the GM and discussing, we agreed to the toilet reset but the plumber refused to do the work though he was still on property. This seems poor customer service as well as poor handling by the HOA.
I feel cheated. Thanks pete. Are times that bad that you have to charge $72.00 for a trip charge? I was a regular customer, and I thought I had a plumber who treated their customers with a little more respect.

I tried another plumber because they were offering a cheap drain cleaning deal on their site...HUGE mistake. Checkered Flag plumbing came to my house and claimed I needed over $2k worth of work and that the underneath of my house was totally flooded with sewage! I was freaked out, but figured it I needed that much work that I would use Pete's because I had good experiences with them in the past. Pete's came out and let me know I had been scammed, and that there wasn't a DROP of water under my house! They saved me from being completely swindled, and next time I will just call Pete's FIRST!

Really like this company. Scheduling is usually pretty easy. They give you a time range and then call you when the plumber is on his way. Have had Julio come out to my apartment several times and he always does a good job and is fast. Last time he was here he walked himself out and when I went back to lock my doors I realized he already did on his way out from the inside, so sweet!
Not sure how they charge because my landlords pays for it.
I've had to deal with Pete's because my apartment contracts through them. They have broken my sink pedestal, forgot to install a cover on a bathroom hole and left a toilet wobbly and had to come back to fix it. Their negligence has led me to have to pay for my neighbors ceiling repairs twice. And to top it all off today the gentleman little lady'd me very rudely when I asked why a sink was clogged. Awful.

Pete's has done nearly every plumbing job possible in my 1924 bungalow over the past seven years. I believe their prices are competitive and their plumbers courteous and efficient. And NO plumber's butt! A plus!!!

Pete's changed my faucet and some angle stops under my kitchen sink. I live in a condo, so that usually requires the shut off of the building water or stack and waiting for everything to drain. Julio was the technician, and honestly, they were quick, efficient, the work was quality (so far ;) lol) and very reasonable in comparison to other plumbers in the area. We use them for our condo building, but I didn't have any personal experience with them. A friend of mine (a carpenter) had a job that required a skilled plumber and had hired Pete's and said they did a phenomenal job on a very complicated set up and commercial system they needed repairing. If this guy says someone is good, they are (he is highly skilled himself and a perfectionist). After hearing him say this about them, I decided to have Pete's do my faucet too, and as you read in the beginning--great job. Faucet swap of course is super simple--UNTIL 1) you factor in draining the building and 2) changing out OLD dated angle stops (1 piece, and they easily break over time from the sheer movement of them--so even if you have no problems, when you go to change them out, they can break and if the water is not properly shut off or drained--problem!)
Thanks much Pete's and Julio, and a shout out to Frankie who has been overseeing our building for years. So, for Pete's sake!! (see what I did there?? lol) give these guys a call!
