Uncle Mikey was super honest, super clean, and super nice.
The first company said 450 bucks to unclog a bathroom sink drain because he had to detach it from the wall and Mikey unclogged the drain in 5 minutes for 89 bucks. I will highly recommend this company to all our clients. Thank you for helping people.

We had, what we thought was, a relatively small plumbing situation. Mr. Rooter came out and contacted a flood company on our behalf. Well thank goodness for that because they showed up just a short time later and things had gotten much worse. Long story short, we ended up replacing all remaining underground cast iron plumbing (Mr. Rooter had done a 40' trenchless ABS replacement previously in 2005). Jesus (Oper. Mngr.) did a great job of touching bases with us all along the way, keeping us informed and giving us options. Jose and the rest of the team members were hard workers & friendly. Everyone made sure the job was done right.

We want to thank Mr. Rooter and their representative Luis. He came out to assess the issue with our water heater since it just started to leak at the top from the pressure release valve. He highly recommend we replace the water heater, quoted a price and we agreed. During the removal and installation, he answered all of our questions about the water heater and the recommended maintenance thereafter. Luis was very humble and personable. We also met with Jesus, the Operations Manager to check on Luis. He, too, was very personable. He checked with us if we had any questions or concerns. Luis did a great job. Our hot water broken and leaking. Noe the tech came in did a wrong diagnostic test and cut the wrong pipe. He overcharged me for not finding the spot leak, $361. I never use this business in future. Noe is the worst plumbing tech. All he needs to do is to represent Mr rooter to steal $$. He said he could not do repipe downstairs, only could reroute my whole house for $12000!!! Unbelievable!!! Noe said he would have to break all most my drywall to find the pipe leading upstairs. How impotent Noe is!

We called them to clear our drain and wanted to utilize the coupon the company sent to us.

So before they came, our sink still drained but slowly. While the plumber was here, he himself talked smack about the company, bragged about how experienced he is and how he was going to start his own company. He said our pipes has alot of build up from stuff we put down the sink. He then said that he could blast out the pipes from the roof and that would be $1200 but he isn't sure that would work. We then asked for him to use the camera to see what was going on. He said we should trust him he knows what the problem is so there isn't a need for the camera. We insisted so his supervisor came over with the camera. They told us that our pipes were installed incorrectly and if we wanted them to fully replace everything. We said that sounds like a huge undertaking so we asked for other options. They went back to the $1200 blasting or complete replacement.

Before they left the said that will be $260. I asked them for what? They said for the work we did here. I said the sink is in the same condition it was before y'all came! Didn't bother to try and snake the drain or anything. With frustration I paid them because I didn't know better.

Called a second plumbing because our drain was in the same condition....plumber fixed it in 10mins said all our pipes are fine and cost $150.

This company uses fear tactics to build fear in customers so they can over charge them for services. Stay away.

Nathan quoted us $300 to remove and replace an existing kitchen faucet and soap dispenser, to which we agreed. After he finished installing the faucet, he declared his work done. When I asked about the soap dispenser, he suddenly stated that replacing my soap dispenser was a very difficult job that would involve grinding and welding, for which he would require another FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS to accomplish.

Yep, ANOTHER $400 to unscrew a plastic nut and replace a simple, under-counter soap bottle. Naturally, we declined and promptly showed him to the door.

I left a detailed description of the stunt that Nathan tried to pull on the company's website. Days later and still no response from them.

This seems like the very definition of unscrupulous behavior. Yes, I should have read the reviews on Yelp! before I called this shady outfit.

10 minutes Auger and determined there's a problem with my toilet. Wanted almost $700 to buy and install toilet after charging me $175 for determining I need a new toilet. Our office toilets started overflowing due to a blockage, they were easy to find to come out on such short notice, they emailed a confirmation and they also called to say how far away they were. Jose and Omar did a great job with what was needed and how much it would cost. They were very friendly and professional. I would recommend both of them. Very happy with the service and the cost was not as bad as I expected for an emergency.

Got a quote for installing a dishwasher and bathroom faucet. About $250 for the faucet and $595 for the dishwasher. They got an estimator out very quickly but the prices were just egregious! Paying $600 to install an $800 dishwasher just doesn't make sense. Ended up going with another company. I hope Mr Rooter offers Cadillac-level service for the prices they charge.

We had a backup and after getting some quotes I settled with Mr Rooter because they offered the best rate. I called late at night and they offered me an appointment for first thing in the morning And sent me a text to confirm. The technician, luis, arrived on time and was super knowledgable and professional. Had called this service for a leaky bathtub faucet and two clogged basins. They came in and were very honest and suggested ways I could do it myself. They also have a free quote on what it'd take for them to do it. It was straightforward enough that I thought I'd give it a try myself. Although I did not avail of their service, the honesty and straightforwardness was much appreciated and deserving of my favorable rating. Had an urgent repair to replace the condo unit main valve (Doesn't shut off completely) so I can replace the leaking sink valve inside the property. Jose from Mr Rooter stopped by and managed to shut the main valve off without replacing the valve. It turned out that the handle was the issue. I then hired him to replace two sink valves that require special tools. He replaced it with no problem at all. It looks great. Excellent job at competitive price.

Nathan Ortiz, an independent owner of Mr. Rooter, is completely a nightmare to do business with him. He promised 3 months warranty for his service-high pressure water jet which is expensive $900 approximately. Once the job is done poorly and charged the amount, he did not honor the promise while we called him to come back to fix the problem that there are lots of oil come out from the drainage. There should not be any oil comes out from the drainage which means Nathan did not do a proper job from the beginning. And he refused to come back to fix the problem and even said he never said there is 3 months warranty for the job.

Absolutely a nightmare to do business with Mr. Rooter especially this individual owner Nathan Ortiz cause they lied to customers which is not acceptable at all.

Called yesterday. Explained what I needed done. Dispatch says I'm just dispatch, I'll send a tech for a free estimate tomorrow. Great. I get a call this morning telling me tech will come early. Great. Then a bit later a message telling me the tech isn't going to come because they can't do the work I need. SERIOUSLY??? You couldn't tell me this yesterday?
Responding to your response....when I googled move gas line you guys popped up with a bunch of info about how you work on gas lines (it had nothing to do with my furnace). Your dispatche person made me feel stupid for explaining what I needed done to make sure you guys could do it. So yeah, y'all have some issues to work out. I won't be calling you for anything.

Technician Francisco came out and was very professional and explained everything he was going to do to clear the blockage. After clearing the blockage Francisco explained maintenance that Mr Rooter could offer to help keep my drains clear. Very positive experience.

I will be very honest with a recent thing that happened. I had a offset toilet flange that needs to be replaced so I asked for a quote. The quote I got from here is $1800 because the manager says it requires getting a jack hammer to do the job.
I myself pretty clear of What needs to be done. I dont think it is a $1800 job. So, I bring up my suggestion to him. He pretty much mocked me n said it sounds like you already know how to do it, why u call me for?!?

So I ended up hiring someone else to do the job. It only costs me about $150...

We had a leak from our tub spout. Nothing too drastic but definitely would get worse. Decided to call Mr. Rooter and they came out within a few hours, which was nice. They had a look and quoted $510 at first, then they came back with a quote of $1,295 minimum plus the cost of the parts. I received a message from the manager stating that these were two options for service. I appreciate him reaching out, but my wife asked the service tech, so it's gonna be a $1295 minimum to get this fixed and he said, yes. At $510 we would have had the job done. We ended up calling another company and set up an appointment for the next day. Work was completed for less than Mr. Rooters lower quote.

The job we requested was not finished and they tried to charge again on top of what we paid for and did not even finish the first duties in the original request that they gave, showed resistance instead of being professionals and making sure they they secured a long term relationship with a customer, not just any customer but a business who has multiple businesses and that is not about funny games but about building other businesses too but yet, we were talked down to, and laughed at and we are dealing with an issue that is not a fun issue. How does staff laugh at you when our business is having issues and no one is sympathetic to that. We just wanted the job to be completed and less than 24 hours it was not done and the disrespect and tone and treatment that was given to us was unacceptable for a business that says they have exceptional customer service. As a business owner myself, It is my duty to make sure that my customers are happy, not to take advantage but less that 24 hours and my customer is unhappy, I will make sure I do something in my best interest to make them feel like I heard them and they were taken care of. I am not from here but San Diego businesses need some growing to do. God does not like ugly.

While I appreciate the quick response for a rooting job, this company apparently saw money signs when they walked in. They wanted to create a whole other job- recommending opening up our drywall and replacing pipes (to address a blockage from a lazy flusher of a toilet). Thank goodness we got a second opinion from a trusted neighborhood plumber. There was no need to open up walls, replace piping, or really anything they said was needed. A quick clearing of the pipe and replacement of toilet (which we had already purchased) and we were done. The neighborhood plumber did this for their hourly fee while Mr. Rooter quoted $1800 in addition to the rooter fee. I will not be calling this company in the future as they have proven untrustworthy.

Our toilet was backed up. I called Mr. Rooter plumbing and was prepared to be told it would take a few days for a service call. Most other companies think people don't need their toilets for many days. Much to my surprise, they scheduled a service call to my home for the same day!!!! Doug Higbee came promptly as scheduled and got right to work. He fixed the stoppage and told me how to prevent it in the future. He also (at no extra charge) showed me how to reduce build up in the toilet tank and the bathroom sink pipes. He went way beyond was was required for the call. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This will be my go-to company for any future plumbing problems. Thanks for great service.

One of your crews did some pipe replacement for my mom. They had to dig up her yard. She had just had the yard done a few years ago. When your crew left, it looked like you had never been there. The biggest thing for me was Luis. My mother is end stage metastatic breast cancer. Luis went in every so often to see if she needed anything and to make sure she was ok. Got the job done but not particularly cheap. Replaced my shower head but the replacement had terrible water pressure (also replaced the pipe it attaches to) so I called to try and sort out but after saying they need to talk with the field supervisor I just never heard back and worked out what to do with the part I didn't like on my own. Also on call was told a receipt was sent out which I never received, however, the person manually sent and I received it then. Everyone I think was nice but probably won't return unless in a super pinch as were available and prompt.

We are glad we made the call for a second opinion. We've got an old house, with super new/expensive plumbing and this is the last pipe to be addressed. Cody was so awesome in thinking it thru, analyzing the current plumbing, zeroing in on exactly the pipe areas to look at, walking me thru it as he learned the house layout, camera verification and quoting a fair and reasonable price at our small list of items in addition to replacing the old rusty pipe in our little old house.

The previous plumber insisted we needed to line pipes, when we simply needed a replacement plastic pipe at a little sink and the main line was ALREADY lined... If I didn't ask for that camera work, the price would be more than doubled, based on a lie.

I've learned some things over the years: Always get a camera regarding pipes or it will be $10-$30K. Always have an actual plumber with a license in his pocket, provide that quote, not a rep, not a tech, not some other sales guy, but the actual plumber.

I had a backed-up sink. I called Mr. Rooter in response to their 89 dollar drain clearing add. They arranged to come out that day (a Saturday) within four hours of the call. Their agent, Nathan, called me when he was a few minutes away. He cleared our drain, from the clean out, within 10 minutes. He did not try to sell me any additional services nor up the price. Without having asked, he cleaned up the area around where he worked. He was extremely polite and professional. It was a surprisingly good experience. My highest recommendation.

Mr. Rooter's employee Jesus Arreola was totally focused on getting the job done. He was extremely knowledgeable about tankless water heaters, and all of the codes and rules regarding their installation. He even went beyond the call of duty in a few instances, generously fixing some things that would normally be the owner's responsibility. His install was clean and straight, and is something we will be proud to show off for many years to come. Great guy, who was generous with his knowledge. I learned a lot just watching him work.

Mr. Rooter came to replace the inside mechanism of my toilet. They charged me a very large sum of money ($423.68) that included parts and labor. But besides the large amount - they did a pretty lousy job. They did not set up the water limits correctly, nor did they test it before they finished - so when the toilet was filled, it filled too much and water was leaking from the hole of the handle. Water was leaking for a long time until we discovered it. By then, the water leaked through the walls into the first floor - and now we have a mold problem. Recovering from their lousy job will cost me a ton of money and time.

I called Mr. Rooter because another plumber who came by was unable to fix our plumbing problem. 2 hours after that phone call, they sent out Mr. Marquez who inspected the problem, provided an on-the-spot-quote, and began work. Within no time at all, my plumbing problems were fixed.

Mr. Marquez was polite and profession and I would highly recommend him and Mr. Rooter to anyone requiring same day plumbing.

Although the cost was more than I wanted, I am a very satisfied customer.

He wore a mask and put on booties over his work boots before entering my home. He explained what he was going to do to clear the blockage. After clearing the blockage, Jose explained about a 30-day warranty and the option of the hydro-jet. Very positive experience.

My son flushed a few small Dixie paper cups down the toilet. They charged me $445 to remove the toilet and get the cups. My husband came home and said he could have bought a brand new toilet at Home Depot for $150. Why $445? It's so insanely high and so arbitrary. Also, the guy told me, a tad condescendingly, that Mr. Rooter is a plumbing company and not a plungeing company, and you wouldn't call a professional to plunge a toilet. But my grandpa used to call a plumber for that all the time. However at these prices, he would've just bought a new toilet every time it jammed.

We have used many plumbing services in San Diego and by far this is the best in our opinion. We had a major repair at our home with an old pipe breaking underneath our kitchen island and leading into the garage . They had to jackhammer our kitchen and garage floor. This tells you how major this repair was.
We absolutely loved the team of repair men ... Jesus , Anthony & George.
Jesus leading the repair was professional & giving up updates on the work , the cement they had to also repair was done perfectly , they cleaned up very well, new pipes under the sink were cleaned up and all in a timely manner.
We would highly recommend them and that team of workers . Noe project manager , came out several times making sure things were explained and all was going well. 25 year warranty is also great.

I had fake turf installed at my house by a company and they hit a water pipe while excavating and called Mr Rooter to fix. The tech did a great job and the the turf company paid, however a day later I realize there is a leak in my water meter box. The city comes out and says it's on my side and asked if we had turned off the water frequently and that was the cause of the leak.

I call mr rooter to come check it out since they shut off the water for the pipe leak. First they said they will be there next day 8am-10am. I then received a call around 9am that they would be late and be there around 1pm. After that I never received a call and no visit. The next day I thought I would hear back and finally called at 4pm. They said the service call had been canceled at 1pm and if I canceled, HUH? I have a water leak why would I cancel. They said sorry we will be there tmrow between 1-3. They finally show up and say the warranty doesn't cover it and it's a flat $1800 to fix the valve on my side of the meter.

I knew that was a redic price and didn't like they didn't show so I called a plumber on yelp with 5 stars I have used before. Scheduled it up and they charged me almost half of what Mr Rooter charged. The tech from rooter saved this from being a 1 Star since he was good and just going by the company line (and didn't create the scheduling issue).

Sergio came to my house and called first to come earlier than the
appointed window of time. That was awesome as I was just waiting
here for him. He was very polite and capable, explaining and showing
me the problem as he was finding it. I had a clogged drain in a shower
that had just been remodeled. He said it looked like there was a glob of grout in the pipe, completely blocking his snake, this could be readily seen as it was only about 8 inches down. He suggested I call my contractor to fix it as it would involve using a jackhammer to remove it.
He did not charge me anything!, since he said he didn't do anything, but
what a super guy!!

i called on a Sunday and they informed me that the next available appointment was on Monday between 1-3pm. the next day i eaited and called them to confirm they will be calling me before there arrival and they also told me they will be closer to 2pm so i was ok cool, come 3:15 i called to check on status. well they said he is running a little late so i waited. here comes 4:30 and he shows up. spends about 30mins trying to snake it but due to lack of experience he can't. he then says my boss says all we can do is offer a repair service. how about sending somebody with some experience. 1st he is late then he doesn't know what he is doing then trying to get a larger ticket . i think not! stay away. And i forgot he left an oil on my driveway.

I would avoid Mr. Rooter if I were you. I have a backup in my home that required plumbing, and like previous posts, he(the plumber) couldn't snake past 10-20 feet, so he offered to high pressure clean the pipes. Apparently my home has all new pipes on the house but one old pipe where it connects to the city.

Paid over $1,000 for the problem to come back the very next day.

Sorry to say, I don't believe the technician knew what he was doing! I had to direct him to the correct run-off, he had opened the drain that belongs to the property behind mine.

I now shelled out over $1,000 and the problem hasn't changed....

I need to get a new plumber here and a quote on how to fix this. I think it the technician sounded like he knew what he was doing, I'd consider using them to fix the problem, but I feel like I was scammed by these guys

While I have used them in the past and have had very good prior experiences, a little bit of a let down on my last service when I paid over $400 for a repair that was urgent and I was not expecting this rate BUT it was up to me to accept it so I did. However, I do star mark-downs when the technician (as they are called now because plumber is no longer the proper title) leaves the work area dirty with debris that I had to clean up myself after the gentleman had left. A proper repair always includes leaving the area clean of debris, and sweeps or wipes anything leftover so that the customer doesn't have to do it. Plus points I will provide for the technician being professional, honest up front about possible unexpected damage, and diligent. He gave me the quote up front and I accepted it knowing that although pricey I needed to get it down without delaying any further. I expected this to be a quick repair and he got it done well in a timely matter.

Very pleased with the service we received from Mr. Rooter on 11/11/20. Kevin was personable, friendly, and efficient. I felt very comfortable having him in my home. He installed a new toilet and removed the old one from the premise. Also installed new shower heads, a new kitchen sink faucet, and removed an old water filtration system. I schedule service for Saturday. On Friday evening, I get a call saying they overbooked their own employees and they want to show up on Monday instead.

Nice to see that an inability to keep your own workforce managed constitutes an inconvenience on my part. Recommend going with any other of the reputable services in this area. Avoid at all costs, otherwise they'll find a way to avoid showing up to your appointment.

Mike was awesome. I have been using Mr Rooter plumbing three times and they have been more than excellent in their jobs.

Mike talked me out of an expensive quote made by another plumber with very clear details and pricing which convinced me the $ value versus the work.

His team did it for less than half what was originally quoted by bill Howe.
The supervising plumber at mr rooters also completed the drywall work since my handyman did not show up and left the place spic and span ... so professionally done. It's awesome.

So far I'm happy with the work they have done. They were here to fix an issue that a competing company just did work on about 2 months and never properly resolved. Once this was explained to the plumber, he immediately called his supervisor, who personally came out and inspected everything again before any work was done to make sure it was done properly this time. Our plumber Jose was easy to work with and kept us up to date every step of the way. A special thanks to him and their operations manager Noe for making sure everything was taken care of properly and to our satisfaction.

They were able to clear a storm drain that another company could not on the previous day. I had a clog in a storm drain and called another company. Previous company cable snaked it and then tried hydrojetting the storm drain point for a few minutes, and suggested that my drain might be broken and would need to cut concrete and excavate to replace pipes. I wasn't entirely convinced that it was broken, and wanted to avoid cutting concrete, so I called Mr. Rooter for a second opinion. I had seen on another Yelp! review that Mr. Rooter was able to solve a problem that another company couldn't.

The recommendation here was to initially cable snake and if that didn't work, hydro jet with water with no charge for the snake. I was worried the cable would tear up the pipes, based on what I had seen the day before... so I opted for hydro jet. He was able to clear the line by going uphill from the drain spout (instead of directly in the jammed storm drain, basically going reverse). Not sure why the previous company didn't think of that.

Con - it was really expensive, both cable and hydrojetting was super expensive compared to other companies I called. I don't know if there was a difference in equipment efficacy or what.

All in all, they cleared my drain and I am happy despite the cost.

My kitchen sink was backing up with water, so I called Mr Rooter for a look. Luiz Gomez spent his whole afternoon troubleshooting, and was able to fix the clotted pipes at the end. Luiz is very patient and explained the issues, so an amateur like me could understand. Of note, the house was old and some plumbing work was done out of style. Luiz overcame those hurdles like a pro. The phone representative was very friendly and helpful. Jesus arrived on time the following morning, and immediately identified what my issue was. Edit: Supervisor reached out to us and told us he would void the check received. Told us that the tech that stopped by our place was placed on leave. I am pleased with how they handled the complaint, but still not pleased with the service I had received. As most other plumbing companies do, I suggest Mr. Rooter also guarantee drain clog or money back.

So I had a clogged bathroom tub. I called these guys because they had a good review. A plumber came and tried using the electrical snake on the tub. The snake got stuck and he said there's nothing he can do.

He then glimpsed around the house to find a clean-out and did not locate it. He said the only thing he can do is to open up the floor and cut the pipe then run snake through it. He was there for less than 15 minutes and still charged me close to 80 dollars without resolving anything.

I called another plumber just in case the tech from Mr. Rooter was wrong. The 2nd plumber located 3 different clean outs immediately, and fixed the drain clog in 20 minutes. If all it takes to get rid of the clog is using that electrical snake, I can do that on my own by going into home depot and renting an equipment myself.

When I call a plumber, I expect him to know exactly what to do with these equipment. Obviously, I would never recommend Mr. Rooter. I was very disappointed with their service.

Very professional. Not sure why anyone would give a bad review, which actually discouraged me from contacting them... glad I called.

Had to make an emergency call over the weekend, and they picked up the phone right away. Very easy to make appointment. They sent two reminders.

I got home from early, and the plumber was flexible and arrived early as well. The technician who showed up was very transparent about the problem and explained the problem to me well.

The quote they gave me was higher than another company associated with my HOA (which is very normal and acceptable for me).

We thought that our sewer line needed cleaning out due to the toilets randomly losing water. Jesus Arreola from Mr. Rooter showed up timely and checked out the situation. He determined that the problem was not the sewer line but rather an issue in the toilets themselves. He fixed the problem and gave us some helpful advice as well. When at the mercy of someone you really NEED, it speaks volume NOT to be gouged, which seems to be the norm at this day and age. Of course, after hours, my bathtub and shower were backing up! Getting quotes for $350.00 for just showing up from the company that wows their clients, and the company that knows Howe is unacceptable. At least Mr. Rooter was honest in saying they couldn't make it out until the next morning. They were right on schedule! Of course, the very common problem of tree roots were the culprit. The Tech showed us the roots on camera, snaked it and advised it will inevitably happen again, which is correct. I appreciate the honesty, the punctuality, but especially the price! Thank you Mr. Rooter, for not taking advantage, and for providing excellent service. Who do you think I'll be calling if and when I need a plumber? No brainer!

If you want to get ripped off by big plumbing companies these are your guys. We had them come out because we had some back up in our house. They ran a camera and told us we needed hydro jetting and then they found a broken snake in our pipe. The hydro jetting costs over $3k and then they suggested $8k to break our floor and get the snake out. After the $3k we decided to get another quote with a smaller company. Smaller companies do not charge 75% of that price for the hydro jetting or to get the snake out. We went with the smaller company and they removed the snake with a magnet for $500 not $8k. They upsell you and try to scare you and charge you the maximum price. Do your self a favor and always get other quotes from smaller businesses. After we called back he took a couple of hundred dollars off the hydro jetting because they knew that their prices were unreal.

Long story short, I called to have a drain cleaned and after two visits the price went from $350 to $1500+. My regular plumber was not available that was why I called Mr. Rooter..saw some pretty good reviews here. I paid them $350 and sent them away..should not have paid them anything as they didn't do anything.
I called my regular plumber and he unclogged the drain in 15 minutes and charged me $30!!! These people are either incompetent or dishonest.

He was on time, courteous, wore protective booties in the condo, fixed the plumbing problem, did a great job with cleanup. I guess it all starts with a story. It was early in the morning when I entered the master bathroom and heard water running somewhere in the house. After a search and not finding anything on I went to shut off the water main. The sound stopped. Bad news, slab leak. This is not when Mr. Rooter got involved. Had a locator service come out to locate the leak. They found it right in a 4-foot section between the main bath and the dining room. I decided on a re-plumb, and no Mr. Rooter was still not involved. The re-plumb would involve opening my utility wall between the master bath and guest bathroom. So, my thought is its time to remodel the guest bath. The wall in the kitchen was also going to have to be opened so my thought LET'S REMODEL! Nope, Mr. Rooter still not involved. Cut to the chase. My remodel contractor was installing the new shower drain in the guest bath and the main sewer drain basically collapsed. Now Mr. Rooter enters the picture. Javier came out with Omar and we discussed options, I decided on the No Trench pipe busting technique, may be a bit more expensive then trenching, but you don't have all the repair work afterwards. Omar and Jose were my day to day installers, they are masters at what they do. Three holes in my slab and six days later all the rotting cast iron is now out of my house. BTW my house was built in 1958. They cleaned up after themselves and kept my house as clean as possible. Don't get me wrong with this type of work there will always be dust so you must accept that. This included changing out all drains, they even changed out the toilet pipe, and tub drain from the master bath. They even corrected the work from a previous plumber not correctly attaching to the main clean out near the street. There was a couple days they had to cut off early so the apprentice could go to school. Get this Mr. Rooter sends their people to school. Got to respect that. Anyway, to bring this to a close Omar and Jose were very good at what they do, and Mr. Rooter is now my only plumbing company. To explain the photos, the firs it he hole in the guest bath, what the largest but had to get to the master bath toilet and tub. The pile of dirt was place on a tarp to avoid messing up my yard. The last is my laundry sink, its plumbing was all messed up and the fixed it also.

$89 drain cleaning is what they quoted me on the phone for a drain cleaning, aka snake. Price quoted was $240 at this time the tech arrived. Laundry line with no obstructions too. Actually, one of the easier drain cleanings to deal with.

Be prepared to show these guys the door after their dishonest business practices. All you did was waste everyone's time.

I asked this company to come out to provide an on-site estimate for plumbing work. I specified the time frame for them to come due to the pandemic, due to it being at my 99 year-old mother's house who is cognitively impaired and due to the fact that her caregiver needed to be with her when their plumber arrives. Naturally there plumber arrived 45 minutes before the scheduled time and before my mother's caregiver was with her. This company sent a plumber with unknown covid-19 status and questionable protective covering into my frail, elderly and cognitively impaired mother's house against my will. I intended to test this individual as I do anybody and everybody who comes into my mother's house. She has not left her house in 13 months and nobody has entered her house without testing negative. I am outraged at this company, I demanded an explanation and I received none. I cannot describe how upset I am at the cavalier attitude of this company.

Do your research before hiring these guys, it is best to shop around and find a good honest plumber than to get the guys who come out to your house the quickest. Quality over convenience. They quoted us almost 4k for a job - I called other plumbers while they were still here to see if that's just the usual cost for that type of job. Nope. Found a guy who fixed it for a little under 1k. Not to mention the mess of literal crap the guy tracked through my house ... booties don't work if you step in the mess and continue to wear them. Learn from my mistake... find someone else.

I called Mr.Rooter on Friday, 10/12/18. Spoke twice to Ali. Asked for urgent service on Friday night or Saturday. Ali said :
No problem, someone will be there on Saturday, 10/13/18, between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Sounds good to me.
On Saturday my husband waited for 2 hours to be told by Rose that the plumber is going to be 1/2 hour late. Later on she called to announce that all their people are busy with more urgent jobs and can not come until Monday.
So our job - clogged bathtub drain - is not urgent and important for them. We cannot take showers - that is important to us.
If you can not garantee the job done when you said it will be done, do not promise the customer.
We are certainly will never call them again. It feels like they get all the jobs possible and then decide what is more profitable for them to do at the given

I will start with saying I have submitted a formal complaint about this matter to the BBB as well. If I could give zero stars and write this review I would. Mr. Rooter was hired by a real estate agent to perform a sewer inspection on my home on 9/16/19 that was in escrow. The technician who came to our home was named Jesus Arreola. Jesus is recorded on our ring security system telling the agent that our pipes are in good condition and then asking if she is the buying or selling agent. Once she states she is the buying agent he then proceeds to tell her that we have clay pipes (we do not they are ABS pipes all replaced in 2000) and major root Intrusion that must be repaired. He is recorded on video telling the agent to not take no for an answer from us on repairs as they are required maintenance or the new buyers will have very costly repairs to deal with. Mr. Arreola then writes up an estimate of repair for 6,936.00 which includes digging a 4x4 ditch in our yard and cutting and replacing piping. We pushed back on the agent asking for a formal inspection report or video to show where the damages that they witnesses that needed repair as proof the pipes were truly damaged. The agent stated it would cost 50 additional dollars for a USB of the video, my husband called to retrieve the video and we were told no video was taken at the time of inspection and they would have to come back out and redo the inspection for another fee to obtain. We clearly refused and the agent then call Mr. Rooter who told her our pipes were 75% blocked and one bad flush will cost 60k+ of damages to the home. Because we refused to do any work without a report and because of the scare tactics Mr. Rooter utilized the buyers cancelled escrow. We called in a certified plumber to do a second sewer inspection and he completed with a formal video on 9/28. The video shows all of our piping is ABS pipes till the clay connection with the city pipe which is properly sealed and not clogged. He found zero root intrusion and one small area he was able to flush out in 5 min. Total cost 200.00 and 30 min of work. Mr. Rooter is an unethical business who uses predatory sales practices to scare clients into thousands of dollars of repairs that are not needed. They should not be in business and clearly know they are lying when they perform their work or they would provide formal reports and/or video of every inspection they do to back up their claims for repairs. Do not use this company they will steal from you!!

Mr. Rooter was responsive and Cody the plumber who showed up was helpful. However, they were not able to fix the problem and proposed a very expensive fix that involved cutting lots of drywall and replacing lots of pipe. I declined. My friend and I were able to fix the clog the next day using simple tools and with only minimal drywall cut / patch. It was not easy but very doable and I think Mr. Rooter should have been able to figure it out if we did. I feel like the proposed fix was a better business opportunity for Mr. Rooter than just clearing the clog the way we did it.

I will say that their camera scope helped to diagnose the problem and locate the clog and they did that fast and charged me a fair price. Just wish I could've got some more help with the problem.

THEY ARE DISHONEST AND WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!
I see my previous post has been deleted. About 6 months ago Omar came out and it appeared that he could not clear past 20 feet. He had Javier come out (COO) to put the camera on it. He too made it appear he couldn't get past about 20 feet. He did a locate and said there was a hole in the pipe under the bedroom and it had to be replaced. He came back with a bid of $4200.00 and pushed to have it done NOW! It would be done in a few hours. I asked if that included restoration as this would be a major demo. The quote did not include restoration. I asked who they know that could follow up and get it back to original. He had no idea. I would think if this was a common occurrence they would have several contractors to choose from...but no references??? And they said there might be more after the first hole???

I wanted a second opinion. Ideal came out, charged $130.00 and their rooter went past 75 feet no problem. How is that possible unless it's a scam. It's still working fine! I guess saved a ton of money by getting a second opinion.

Can I give zero stars?!? Let me be completely honest with you . . . Our main line to the sewer was plugged. The plumber that came out from Mr Rooter told us we needed to have a new main line sewer access point installed for $1500 because he couldn't find ours. My husband then went out and was able to find our access within 10 minutes using a shovel. All he had to do was dig 1 inch under the grass that had grown over it to find the access. And it was actually exactly where the plumber said he thought it should be. Too bad the plumber didn't bother to check before quoting $1500!!!

Next, he worked on the line for several hours. The plumber said he wasn't able to clear the line for the normal $250 and told us he needed to use a hydro scrub for $1050! At that point we asked him to leave, and another local plumber came out to our rescue and was able to fix our problem within 15 minutes for $105.

I highly recommend looking at my other yelp reviews to find the good guys because they rock and Mr Rooter sooooooo does not.

ZERO stars aren't low enough. Boo to you Mr. Rooter.

Rip Off!!!!

Sewer line was flowing kind of slow. Their guy came out and seemed to have it cleared. Next day, it was backed up worse than before. Their guy came out again and only made matters worse. He called his boss. The boss managed to make things worse. Boss had a nasty attitude and wanted to charge us $1800 to dig use the sewer line. Called Rescue Rooter and their guy had the roots cleared out in ten minutes. Don't call Mr. Rooter. They are incompetent and will get nasty when you call them on it.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing representatives were knowledgeable, thorough, and accommodating. I requested 2 other well-known, plumbing companies come to investigate a problem. I own an old home and have to periodically jet my lateral line. In addition, I felt like trouble was brewing with the lines under my house. Anderson plumbing sent 2 guys out. One for the sewer line. He was helpful. The other for under my house only checked my faucets and took a peek under the house from outside. HE would not go under. I also had to pay $200 for him to come out. I was told it was for driving the truck out. Mr. Rooter's representative, climbed under my house, and ran a camera through my kitchen line. He called another to camera my main lateral line. He had a thorough explanation of the problems brewing under my house, showed me where the problems were, and and both representatives had me view the cameras. The one representative, Rob, even drug away an old raccoon's skeleton for me. There was no fees involved for these services! The third plumber I called, Mr. Howe, didn't have a clue, and wanted to copy Mr. Rooter's estimate! Seriously?!

Anyway, my pipes needed replacing. They did so quickly, replaced what they had to disrupt in my backyard. They were friendly, accommodating to my needs, and respectful. They were kind enough to through in a few replacements of faucets, and toilets in my home.

My only disappointment is I have been requesting photos for my job, and have not received them from the office yet. And I need one toilet resealed in the home. The plumber has been giving me phone calls to assure me he will take care of it.

The only reason I gave these guys to stars was because they came pretty quickly. Aside from that, they try to gouge you. There are roots in my sewer line that were clogging it up. They quoted me almost $5000 to fix that. They said the price was non-negotiable. I got somebody else to do it for $1300. Not cool.

These guys are a rip off. I will never use their service again. They didn't install new closet supply, wax ring or new toilet, which is what they charged me for on the invoice they emailed me. You didn't even auger my drain like you said you would. I had to go to home depot and purchase a toilet flush valve to install. 340.00 for what to inspect my line. This is unacceptable. because you remove my toilet and clean it. I told the guy if that's all your doing my son and I will do ourselves. He says he's going to auger my drain. He didn't. In essence I paid your company to remove my toilet which I can do and clean it (they didn't find the plastic bottle that had fallen into my toilet) and put it back. Hell I could have bought a brand new toilet at home depot for 150.00. which is what I said I would do. But the guy says I need hydroblasting for 1100.00. I say no. He says a new toilet I say yes I will go purchase one. Kevin and his crew did a great job replacing my entire sewer system. It started out as taking care of a simple clog, but after over 60 years the pipes were literally falling apart. They laid down adhesive material to protect the hall way carpet and kept me informed on every step of the way. I cannot think of any company who has provided me with better all-around service than what Mr. Rooter and its representatives recently provided me.
We were having a significant sewage back-up at our home. Based on an acquaintance recommendation, I had a company respond to assess the situation. That company identified the issue, provided two options and a quote for each. With my limited knowledge of the problem, and the amount of money to complete the repairs, I chose to get a second opinion.
By chance, I saw San Diego 10 News does a short segment called Approved Home Pros, where they profiled Mr. Rooter for plumbing needs. I called Mr.Rooter to ask about their services. The phone representative was extremely friendly and informative, and offered to have one of their professionals respond to my home as soon as that same afternoon.
I actually met with the technician, Luis Contreras, the following morning. He arrived and after his quick assessment, requested a supervisor with a camera. Javier (unknown last name) arrived within minutes and after a short evaluation, he confirmed the same problem that the previous company had reported. The solution he suggested was actually a more thorough fix to the problem, and what surprised me most, was the cost of the repairs was significantly less than what I had been previously quoted by the first company. When I accepted Javier's service offer, I expected that he would tell me a crew would be out within the next day or two to begin the work. To my surprise, Luis immediately grabbed a shovel and began working on the repair.
Over the next couple days, Luis and his work partner, Angel Rojas, worked diligently on the repairs. My experience with prior work crews was that there seemed to be alot of down time, and little interaction. Luis and Angel not only worked tirelessly each day, but took time to explain what they were doing and they were both incredibly friendly.
The repair required significant digging across the front of yard of our house. I was amazed when I came home after they finished, to find that there was virtually no sign that they had even been there. The lawn was replaced with no signs of digging, and the entire work site had been cleaned, swept and void of any marks or debris.
I could not be happier with the response and the work that the team from Mr. Rooter provided us. But, for me personally, the positive attitude and the friendly, personable approach that I received from every member of the Mr. Rooter team is what I will remember most. My experience could not have been better.

Easy to get an appointment, tech arrived on time and after 20 minutes he was done and ready to leave - water was again running down the drain. They give a 30 day guarantee so I waited to write a review. Was about to write a much nicer and higher rated review when after 40 days our main drain again backed up.

When we returned from a trip this weekend, our toilets had backed up. Our family was coming in a few days, so we urgently needed a plumbing service. Mr. Rooter was highly rated on Angie's list, so we called them. Rosa, who works in the office was efficient, supportive and friendly. She dispatched their knowledgeable technician, Jesus, who promptly came 45 min after I made the call to the office.
Jesus was efficient and friendly and was able to clear the clog so that we could use our toilets. He even discovered that we had a leaky toilet valve which he replaced for us.
We have an older home with iron pipes that have corroded. When Jesus and Javier, the supervisor, looked at the line with the camera, they saw that roots have entered the pipes, so we elected to have a clean out box installed to better clear the line of roots. While working in the rain the day before Christmas eve.,Jesus carefully dug up our plants and covered them with a tarp. I cannot say enough about how impressed we are with the efficiency and expertise of Jesus. He is truly a genuinely helpful person and an asset to the company. Javier, as well, was friendly and great to work with. The price for the work done was very reasonable.

Not very happy with this company. My bathroom shower drain was clogged. The technician was on time and very polite but was unable to unclog the drain and I was still charged for the service.... We had a water leak in our ceiling and did our research online to see which company would be the most reliable based on other customer reviews on various websites. After calling more than five different plumbing services we decided to go with Mr. Rooter and we are so glad that we did! First off, they do not charge for coming out and giving an estimate for damages and repairs (that already saves $200). Alexis, the operator, was very reassuring and mentioned that although they are fully booked and can't come until the following day, that they would call in the event that there were any cancellations. So accommodating!

Our initial appointment was around 1pm, but the next morning we get a phone call at 0800 saying that there was a technician on the way. We were so relieved considering we didn't have any water for more than 24 hours. The technician that came out was awesome! Eric C. was informative and professional, making sure to keep us in the loop and made the effort to answer any questions or concerns. We had another issue with our water heater and as soon as he was done with the leak in the ceiling he was more than happy to move on to our other plumbing problems. He gave us such reasonable pricing and his sincerity and honesty was so transparent when it came down to necessary vs. the you should probably do this jobs.

I know that if we ever had another issue with our plumbing system that Mr. Rooter was the company to call and Eric C. is the technician you want.

This company is amazing. I used there emergency services in the middle of the night. I woke up to what sounded like running water in the wall. From the time first called to the time a tech arrived at my home was only 45 minutes. The tech quickly and quietly worked to fix the problem for the night. Javier came out to the house to access a job. Javier was super friendly, polite, patient and informative. He made me aware of all my possible options and even issues I had not even considered. Javier didn't rush me, up sell or pressure me into any decisions.
After this experience I am very inclined to use Mr. Rooter services in any plumbing project that I might need. It's not often that you find someone so professional and honest. This place was recommended to me, I called Friday afternoon and they said they could come out that day. They didn't, instead rescheduled for Saturday. Saturday came with 2 additional push backs of my appointment only to be rescheduled again for Sunday morning. Sunday was an out right no show. I called and calmly asked the person on the phone if they were going to be able to make it out and that person recommended that I call someone else.
Do not call these guys unless you have a few days to wait. Not an emergency option, I have no idea if they do good work or not...

This is the best plumbing company I have ever used. Every time I deal with them the service has been impeccable. All the way from reception to the service providers that came to my home. I've worked with both Mike and Javier; they are both extremely courteous, helpful and responsive. Their prices are extremely reasonable given the quality of service they provide. I had an out door drain that needed to be cut and snaked. When I called them they came out the same day and fixed it! I cannot say enough great things about this company. I am not surprised by the multiple 5 star reviews. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. This is the only plumbing company we will go to in the future.

We called Mr Rooter to have our sewer line snaked and get a camera inspection of another line. Omar arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. He quickly took care of the job. Then Javier arrived with the camera equipment. He began a discussion on what we wanted to accomplish. Javier determined that we could solve our problem without the expensive snake camera. My hot water heater started leaking on a Saturday evening. I went to Lowe's and purchased a new hot water heater, but they weren't able to schedule installation until the following Monday. On Sunday morning, I called several plumbing companies to see if they could install the new heater that day. Mr. Rooter responded promptly, and their plumber, Omar, came out right away. Omar was pleasant, courteous, and knew what he was doing. He picked up the new heater from Lowe's plus necessary parts and spent a few hours installing it. The installation wasn't cheap, but probably in line with what others were charging. It was hard to compare prices of installation, because there were add-ons that couldn't be estimated.

I was very pleased with Omar's service, and so glad to get the hot water heater replaced right away. I originally thought that I could wait until Monday for the Lowe's installers to do the job, but just one night without running water in the house was enough to convince me not to wait!

I called Mr. Rooter when my bathroom sink was clogged based on the great reviews I had seen on Yelp. I called at 8am on a Tuesday after the long holiday weekend, and they sent someone out at 10am the same day! Isaak Eram was my technician. He was professional, knowledgeable, polite, and fast. He was in and out of my apartment in less than an hour and he took the time to show me what he was doing and explain to me why my sink was clogged. He made sure everything was cleaned up and working properly before leaving. I was so happy to have a plumber who was so helpful and polite. I would highly recommend Mr. Rooter.

I've updated to two stars since their employee Omar went out and repaired a water line they had damaged when they were digging. Our septic line was inspected in Alpine CA and we hoped that we could have the roots or sludge ground out so it could pass the inspection, and a camera show us leach line locations. We were trying to avoid spending thousands of dollars on a new leach line system. I called the main number for Mr. Rooter in San Diego and they said they serviced Alpine. They sent a local company out to do the work. Over $1,100 to use their special machine to grind through the lines and to scope with the camera (over 200 feet of lines). They got about three feet in and couldn't go farther. They told us they must have hit the distribution box or where the leach lines came off the main line. They also told me how hard the soil was and how they would have to use a machine to dig it out. They talked to my husband and since the house was in escrow, we told them to go ahead clearing the line and putting in a clean out. It turned out the dirt was soft, hand dug out, and they just repaired a small section that was damaged and attached a clean out line to the repair. No distribution box or leach field lines there. They ran their grinder three more feet and it stopped again. Total feet ground? About 6. Total feet scoped with the camera? About 6. Total charge for their work? It was going to be $3400, but they took it down to $2800. We told them we couldn't afford for them to do any more work and got two bids for all new lines and leach lines (over 200 feet of leach lines). The reasonable price for two long days of trenching, laying pipes and backfilling? Just $2,000 more than were were being charged for the short grinding, camera work and 4' by 4' hole and repair. Blackburn Drainage and Construction did ten times the work that Mr. Rooter did. And they had to remove that repair that Mr. Rooter had made, since part of the job was to put in a new line all the way to the septic tank. The Mr. Rooter General Manager, Mike, did spend a lot of time trying to find out what happened, and we do appreciate that. Unfortunately, we still don't see eye-to-eye on what happened.

Had a kitchen sink clog in our older home (built in the 60s) Very pleased with work received. Prompt arrival and courteous, quick service. Our Technician, Jesus Arreola, was both kind and knowledgeable, even offering suggestions to help prevent the problem from recurring. This review is long over due...a few weeks ago I called Mr. Rooter because my tub had stopped draining. They were able to get their field technician, Sergio, out right away to give me a free estimate. After inspecting everything he found out that I had a cracked pipe under the house. I'm a renter so I needed to get my landlords approval to move forward with the repairs. I cannot day enough good things about this technician. He showed up super fast, he face timed with my landlord to show her the crack in my pipes and knowing I really needed this to get approved as I didn't want to have to go through multiple people coming out, he worked with her on the price. He was supposed to get off at 4, but stayed at my house until 7 making sure the repair was done because he knew I only had one bathroom and didn't want to drag this out. When I explained to him that my landlord takes care of her elderly mother he even went to meet her to get payment. He really went abound and beyond with his work ethic and customer service and his pleasant demeanour turned a very inconvenient situation into a super good experience. I work in the interior design and multi-family industry and after my personal experience with this company and their technician I will definately be referring them to all my clients in the future.

Our bathroom sink was stopped up. We thought it was from the roots entering the pipes like it had done before. I had called Cass Plumbing the day before and was told the person would be there the next day to provide an estimate. Next day no one showed up. I called Cass Plumbing and was told the plumber was given the message. They could not tell me when he would arrive.

I had received a coupon in the mail the day before from Mr. Rooter. Tired of waiting for Cass Plumbing to show-up, I picked up the phone and called Mr. Rooter.

Alexis from Mr. Rooter answered and was so nice. She said someone would be out between 2 - 4 PM. Thirty minutes later she called and said someone would be out within the hour if that worked for us.

Noe, from Mr. Rooter, called and said he was on his way. He arrived and I explained our issue. He immediately started checking and determined the issue was not from the root system. We had a stopped up pipe. He had checked under the house and all our pipes had been replaced except for this particular one which was still metal. He provided and estimate to just snake the plumbing or to replace the existing pipe. We decided to snake the plumbing. He cleared the drain and all was perfect. Before he left he said if we decided to replace the pipe he would not charge us for the snaking that he had just done. He said he would put in the new pipe and then dry wall the area when he was done all we had to do was paint. The total would be $1,180 including the coupon and no charge for the work he had done that day. We decided to have Noe proceed with replacing the pipe.

Noe showed up right on schedule the next morning and proceeded to roll back our oriental rugs and to lie down paper from our front door through the house to the work area. He draped the entire room with plastic so he would not get plaster dust all over everything. I was working from home. He made certain the door to the room he was working in was closed so he would not disturb me. He finished within the amount of time he had estimated.

I then asked him if he had time to install a garbage disposal that I had bought, but had not been able to install because I had hurt my back. He said since he was already at the house he could do it for an additional $150, I said perfect.

Again he was so neat and tidy. He cleaned up all of his mess and the house was as clean as it was when he arrived.

Noe has won us over as a customer for life. He was so very professional, up front with pricing, honest, courteous, neat and tidy. We are so very pleased and can honestly recommend him and Mr. Rooter. Give them a call (858) 278-7600

My washer drain was backed up on a Saturday evening. I called Mr. Rooter and figured I could get it done during the week on such short notice. But to my surprise she said they would be out Sunday morning at 8 am. I am an early riser so the earlier the better. They sent out Rafael T. who was on time considering the time change. They came, they saw, they fixed the problem.

They booked a time of 3-4pm, but when an opening became available for earlier, they called to give me the option to change it. Ahh, how refreshing customer service.

It was a bit more coin, than I thought it would be, [which is why they get 4 stars and not 5] but at least there was a coupon on the website, for a bit of a discount. That said, I feel confident the repair was done correctly.

The plumber who performed the service today, was polite, clean and professional. I was kept up to speed, during the entire process. Afterward a check of my entire plumbing system was done and recommendations were given.

I'm confident I'll be using them again in the future. [But I hope there's never another need to do so]

If you have an emergent plumbing need and decide to go with these guys, be prepared to pay out the wazoo. They know they have you by the cajones and will charge you accordingly. They mis-diagnosed a clogged sewer line that needed a quick and simple snake job. Technician said the outdoor trap only went one way, toward the house, which was not true at all. Said they needed to install a two way since the clogged area was toward the street. Ended up costing us over $1600...for 3 hours work...that didn't need to be done! Would've been $2500 until I pitched a complaint. Gosh, they even threw in a senior discount. BS. Well, we now have a TWO WAY trap out front, but not without a high, high cost. And it wasn't even necessary. Lesson learned.

DONT USE THEM!!! My husbad works for Mr. Rooter in another state and we called them in San Marcos, while I was visiting my mom and i feel like Jose COMPLETELY took advantage of my mom who is a senior. The job (to change a filter in a water system would take 30 min., tops) he charged us $255.00!!!! What he should have done is charge us for a Diagnostic test at a $115. My husband is a master plumber who works for Mr Rooter for more than 10 years and he would NEVER price gouge because my mom is a senior citizen. ITS SO DISGUSTING HOW PEOPLE TREAT OUR LOVED ONES. We called another place and the going price to change out water filters is around $80.00. We are so disappointed with the TRUST we thought we had In this Company and in Jose in what he Displayef!!!!!

I am so disappointed. We used Mr. Rooter in April and was pleased so we thought we would try them again when our garbage disposal sprung a leak on Thanksgiving night. We called and made an appointment for the following day between 8:30 and 9:00. 9:30 came around and no show so we called and were told they would be between 10:00 and 11:00. They came and told us it was going to cost almost $600.00 to install a new disposal and faucet. That was AFTER we supplied them with the product. We went to Lowes to buy the products and checked what their installation would be - $228.00. Sorry Mr. Rooter but you just lost a customer.

I would never hire them again. My water softener busted and clogged all the faucets, toilets, and showers in my house, which I determined on my own. Mr. Rooter wanted to install new plumbing lines for an estimated $10,000. I ended up changing out all the faucets valves and flushing out all the plumbing lines myself. Saved myself $9,950. The only good thing Mr. Rooter did was reroute the water line from the water softener. Oh, and Mr. Rooter charged me $180 for new shower knobs, which I saw at home Depot for $40. If you have a plumbing problem and want to save money, just youtube it first.

I called on a Saturday with a clogged drain. The call center that I was routed to took my information, and then stated that a dispatcher would call me back. About an hour later, I answered my phone to a laugh. Someone named Faith asked for me and said I understand you have a plumbing issue, in a joking tone. At the same time, someone whispered shut the F up. I asked if this was for real, and why my plumbing problem was funny. I also wanted to know why they would call me and cuss. Faith said that she was at the doctor's office because she was on call, and that it was background noise. I did not make that appointment after all. Mr. Rooter is doing it right! Rob was awesome! He took the time to educate me on the reasons for repairs/replacements needed on my project and listened to my concerns/answered all my questions. The work was performed as discussed, no hassles, super convenient to my schedule, and provided at a very decent price (no inflated costs for weekend work, either). Rob is clearly a seasoned professional. His work was impeccable and he was good-humored throughout the job. I was impressed with how fast Mr. Rooter responded to my call and was surprised at how expediently the work was completed. The warranty on work is amazing yet I doubt it will be needed at my house; the new plumbing is gorgeous! I really appreciated the little extras that Rob was able to do while he was here; it was heart-warming to see the care and respect he gave to my home. Each day, the work area was cleaned and at no point was I left overnight without running water and a flush facility. I called up Mr.Rooter for a clog in my toilet.They send Mr.Cody an hour before the scheduled time.I explained the problem and Cody understood and guessed the problem right away.It was a leaking Flange or something wrong the Flange.He removed the toilet and to surprise saw that the Flange is covered with roots. He removed the roots, put new Flange and cleaned everything and fixed a new toilet.
Great terrific work though it is little pricy...

I will recommend Mr.Rooter if you have complicated problems like this since they are the expertise especially Mr.Cody.

The ol' kitchen sink clog the day before Thanksgiving. Luckily for us, Javier at Mr. Rooter came out and got us up and flowing before the marathon of holiday dish-cleaning. Javier was friendly, helpful, and informative. Not only did he clear out the clog in our old cast iron pipes, but he walked me through a couple of informative tips about the plumbing in my house, for which I'm grateful. The only reason I'm giving a 4-star is because I technically called Mr. Rooter last night (they said they operated 24/7), but the technician couldn't come until the following afternoon. I'd definitely use these guys again.

If I could give 10 stars I would. This company is honest, fast and reasonably priced. The two gentlemen, Jesus and Andrew, who did the work were super nice and informative. We had our main horizontal lines replaced throughout the entire house and they got the job done in one day. The came back the next to check the work and further explain everything that they did. We now have a 25 year guarantee / service plan on our house and we couldn't be happier. This is the second time we have used their services and we would highly recommend them to anyone. Great service!! I just bought a house and discovered the faucets in the master bathroom were not working. I called Mike from Mr. Rooter and he sent one of his associates, Noe, out to my home. Noe arrived on time and was able to replace the faucets as well as take a look at some other small plumbing issues our home inspector had pointed out. We had 2 showers clogged. Our normal plumber was busy so we called Mr Rooter for an early appointment when we couldn't find anyone else. Andrew was helpful and tried to power snake the drains, but didn't unclog them. When he recommended a supervisor come out to look, the supervisor recommended they jackhammer the foundation to replace the T section of the pipe that connected the 2 showers pipes together and it was the only way possible. We were quoted at $3800 for at least 2 days worth of work. We asked if they could do as our plumber recommended and take a look at the blockage through the vent from the roof, but was told that that vent goes straight to the toilet and cannot be done. Our normal plumber came out and took his camera to look at the blockage through the roof vent. He got both drains flowing in 30 minutes. I hope this was an honest mistake and that they weren't trying to rip us off.

The shortest possible summary is: $20,000 job, they nickel and dime you every step of the way, I took out their recommended line of credit to pay for the job only to be *later* told they just recently started a new program whereby there's now a 3-5% fee for that, they show up late literally every day (and have now spent more than ten days at my house), they have to leave for 1.5 hours at a time at least 2-3X per day to go to Home Depot because they never have all the parts, every time they did anything as simple as installing a sink they had to come back afterward at least once because something was leaking, they've now broken the drain plugs on both of my sinks and each time tried to leave without fixing it, saying (on the way out) the only thing I couldn't do is this until I insisted that, No, this was working when you got here and it needs to be working again when you leave. This results in more trips to Home Depot and time. They put large holes in my drywall without telling me in advance they would be doing that, and they don't fix drywall, so I've now repaired my own drywall multiple times. Today alone, the dude has been here 5.5 hours and is still here just to reinstall a sink and a toilet which they took out, and now miraculously there are parts missing and broken and he's already been to Home Depot twice. I live a mile from Home Depot. Not sure why it takes an hour and a half to get there and back. He's now telling me the pop-up assembly is flat out broken and it's going to take at least another day for them to re-install a sink they removed. So, yeah, feel free to use this company if you love being ripped off and have nothing better to do than hang out with plumbers.

GREAT SERVICE!!!! These guys showed up ON TIME!!!! Clean truck, clean uniform, clean plumber, something I RARELY see!!! I noticed the guy had a name badge on, which I liked.

The showed me what was wrong, fixed it pretty quickly, cleaned up perfectly and for a weekend, I thought charged a very fair price. One other company I called wanted a MINIMUM of $395, I think. Mr. Rooter said same price on weekend as weekdays and NO OVERTIME CHARGES....

Before they left, they took a camera out (for NO CHARGE) and sent it all the way out to the street from my house and showed me what my main sewer line looks like.

Well worth the money, I was pleased to see a CLEAN, UNIFORMED, POLITE professional.....I would recommend them and use them again!!

My regular plumber was too busy to help with a variety of irritating little problems, so after receiving their flyer in the mail and checking Yelp reviews, I called Mr. Rooter. My husband couldn't believe that I would call a service person that we didn't know personally, but I took a chance. They picked up the phone immediately, made an appointment quickly, called twice to confirm and were on time. Soooo- the story of a $10,000 rip-off: my mom has a rental house in Ramona, and the tenants call up with both toilets over flowing. I tell them to call a plumber, as this usually ends up being the fault of the person flushing.
Mr. Rooter comes out and pulls some small pieces of plant matter out with a sewer snake. They say theres something terribly wrong, and they send a tech with a camera out the next day. He runs the camera down the cleanout into the main septic line. I was unable to make it to view it myself, but the tenant was there.

The Mr. Rooter guy calls me and gives me his findings, he says the entire septic line is rusted and roughted out all the way back to the septic tank and 25-30 feet of pipe will need to be replaced. The major problem is that this 25-30 feet is all under the house and the slab will need to be jack hammered.

The guy says I have 2 options to solve this - they can jet the line for $1600, (high pressure water flush out), but this is only a temporary fix, and they would only warranty their work for 6 months.

The other option is jack hammer of course and replace the line, 10 year warranty, and this will only cost me $9,000. I ask for complete scope of work and what they do - the $9k only includes ripping up my floor, throwing in a new pipe, and thats about as far as it goes, I am responsible for refinishing the cement and floor, and all the cleanup, so another $3k or more being spent after they leave.

I tell the guy I will call him.

My dad was a general contractor, and I actually helped him build half this house 20 years ago, so I know a lot about construction, have all the tools - cement mixers, jack hammers, cement cutters etc., and I know all about the house. To boot, my mom nor I have $9k to dump down this pipe line.
I prep a crew of guys, and ask another plumber to come out and plot the pipe line for me with a camera. I was there when this plumber came out (Bob's Plumbing of Ramona - A+++ work). He hooked up his camera and probe equipment, and I am looking through the line only to find nothing wrong with it. Bob tells me Your septic line looks almost like new.

i asked Bob what he would charge me to jet the line if I were to need that, and he says $350 - great deal off from the $1600 Mr. Rooter wanted, and far less than the $9000 for the supposed replacement that it needed.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with it, and Mr. Rooter was just trying to drum up some major work to line their pockets with.

Never thought my plumbing issues could be fixed so quickly and efficiently!! Called Mr Rooter and they sent a guy right over. I explained what was going on and he quickly got to work and gave me a quote that beat out the last plumber that fixed the same problem a few weeks ago, by a couple 100 bucks. Not to mention my favorite thing was the tech put on these cute lil booties so he wouldn't track mud in or scuff up my floors!!! All plumbers should wear booties!!! I know who I'm calling if I have future problems!! Been a good two months and I couldn't be happier with their work!

I would never recommend Mr. Rooter to anyone.

We had a major blockage in our main line. Mr. Rooter came out to inspect the line and clear the blockage. They used their camera to inspect the line and after selling us on their hydro-scrubbing that ran us about $800+, showed us VERY fuzzy images and tell us that our pipes were completely disintegrated (which they weren't/aren't) ...

The technician had a second technician come out to write up an estimate for the entire house re-pipe that they recommended after trying to convince us that our pipes were in danger of going any minute ... they let us know that they wouldn't involve the manager/owner so they could write us up a deal that would help us out financially.

Shady... after $1k and 10 hrs of being in/around my house.

After a second opinion and having the work completed by a second plumber. I received the follow up call. Complained about the pricing and service run-around and lies. I was contacted by the owner, Mark. I asked him for half my money back after finding out that most professional licensed and bonded plumbers don't charge nearly what they did. Also let him know that his technicians flat out lied to us.

Long story short. We were refunded $190 of the $350 I asked for.

I will never use Mr. Rooter again... and strongly urge anyone reading this review to take their business elsewhere.

Came within an hour of the time I called on Friday to fix an emergency. Pipe broke and flooded basement. Professional, helpful, friendly, good work. No problems with the work. From my perspective, expensive. The plumber needed to pick up a part, and I expected to pay for his time to get the part. He took about 3 hours from the time he arrived to the time he left and the bill was over $400. I would have rated the service five stars were it not for the cost. On the other hand he did provide and accurate estimate before he started work so I was not surprised at the end. Maybe instead of getting a doctorate in chemistry I should have become a plumber. By the way two friends of mine made the same mistake, one left his job a faculty member at a university and went to plumbing the other stayed on the faculty. It's a close call.

I had a kitchen drain that had been blocking up for months. I was afraid of the extensive fix, as the house is older and has cast iron pipe. Got the $89 special card in the mail and decided to call. They sent a tech out within 2 hours (same day as my call) and he confirmed my suspicion. BUT, he said Mr. Rooter does those kinds of repairs. He said it would take about a day and a half to replace about 40 feet of pipe and I also asked to have a stainless steel sink switched out (that had been in the box in the garage for 3 years). Carlos was out the next morning at 7 am. His helper had called out sick, but he got it ALL done beautifully by 3 pm. Cost was really reasonable for the extent of work that had to be done. These guys are my new go-to. Amazing customer service and polite, clean efficient techs.

Manager Javier and Carlos (and crew) did a great job identifying problem of a collapsed cast iron pipe under the floor and remedying it. In this instance, unfortunately, more and more pipe had to be replaced... Won't go into details. Javier and Carlos are hardworking and know what they are doing. It just isn't fun for a homeowner to have to sink money into things that you can't see yet necessary to keep your house functioning. And in this case, the problem grew and grew (no fault of Mr. Rooter crew). The new pipe they laid carries a 10-year warranty and a 5-year connection warranty - which my husband and I like.
OPTIONS - reason for 4 out of 5 instead of 5 rating: Pleased with work but when it comes to doing more to the house as more problems arose, would have liked to hear what options were available regarding demo areas, placement of pipes, cost. Though some options may be more expensive than others, would have liked to hear them. Let my husband and I make the informed decision. As it turns out, my engineer husband came up with an option that included demo-ing more of the outside rather than more of the inside, It worked out better in the end.
GENERAL WARNING: No fault of Mr. Rooter since they are a professional plumbing company. They are plumbers and only plumbers. Before you begin work, think about what other things may need to be done to get your home back to normal like hiring contractor(s) to board up hole in exterior or house, fix the stucco, redo the decorator pavers, remove and retile a bathroom, buy and install a new bathroom vanity, buy and install new faucet, the drywall and texture it and prime it and paint it...

I live in Carlsbad and on 9/26 I called Mr. Rooter and they came right out, good start. I knew I had a backed up sink and needed a new garbage disposal. Long story short, he cut out the plumbing pipe under the sink and lo and behold, major gunk, but I knew that. He made a huge deal out of my clogged drain pipe and said the line needed to be cleaned out which would be around $600.00 and then the installation of a new garbage disposal would be around $600 including a new garbage disposal and he had to have $292 for the time and work he just did by cutting out my kitchen drain pipe. I was appalled by the easy way he was spending my hard earned money. I think he believed since he had just cut out my kitchen drain pipe that the sale was done and I was stuck but I told him to flush out the pipe with a hose and put it back which he finally did all the time trying to tell my wife about all the things that could go wrong if we didn't do the work he wanted to do. I paid him $292 for 30 minutes of work and sent him packing. Today, 9/27, a long time independent plumber referred to us by our chimney sweep showed up and cleaned out the drain, put in a new garbage disposal which I bought at Home Depot for $179 and then fixed the plumbing so it wouldn't have to be cut out next time and showed me what I needed to do in the future to clean the drain, all for $400 plus my $179 or $579 !! Thats a whole lot better than Mr. Rooter's $1,492. I would think twice before calling Mr. Rooter.

Nobody really wants a plumbing issue. While doing a remodel I hired Mr Rooter to make sure all the lines were clear. they sent Noe, who was the best. He did not try and sell me more then I needed, was polite, through and informative. We had a problem with the shower after move in. Again, Noe to the rescue, he was as helpful as ever. He did not charge me for the visit.

The pipes are old in a sixty year old house, so once the tenant moved in there was a small flood from the first use of the dishwasher. I requested Noe but they said I would have to wait til WEd. So, I said, send someone as good as him. In a half hour, you guessed it. In walked our favorite rescuer, Noe. He had had a hard digging complex job but came at 5 PM anyway when he heard it was us. He stayed a long time and did trouble shooting in excellent ways. He fixed the problem as much as can be with old city pipes. On the basis of our contact, he was more than fair, very knowledgeable and about as polite and sympathetic as possible. I have run my own business for almost 40 years. Mr Rooter is lucky to have a guy like him and we are glad to have him service us.

I actually had a GOOD experience, we own a retail business that is heavily involved with women. We had TWO toilets back up about 7.20pm on a Saturday night. Mr. Rooter was there within 70 minutes (they said 60 but they did call to let me know they would be 15 minutes late). They removed the toilets and game me a price right there. They brought several pieces of equipment in and in about 2 hours they fixed it. They cleaned up after themselves and did not exceed the price quote.

I guess they have a new owner because the next day someone actually called to say THANK YOU for using them and to make sure we were satisfied. He said he bought the entire San Diego County area several months ago. He seemed very sincere and caring.

He shut off the water as the 28 yr. old shut-off under the toilet was frozen. Since I was starting remodel on the bathroom I up-graded my toilet and he came back the next day to install. Everything in beautiful working order. He checked all my plumbing and noted water pressure too high and installed a new gauge/valve. I am SO HAPPY with the speed of response to my problems. This is by far the best plumber I've ever come across! Brian came out on a Sunday to fix a clogged sink. He was knowledgeable and helpful. Never felt that money was the issue like so many other establishments. He really cared that my problem was solved! The customer service was top notch. So careful and clean. Before calling Mr. Rooter I had 2 other big name plumbing companies come out to attempt to unclog and somewhat troubleshoot my backed up (gray water) laundry drain to no avail. By now I was desperate, so I reluctantly called Mr Rooter, they scheduled a technician for the next morning. Billie was the Technician dispatched and I can't tell you enough positive things about his professionalism and determination to get the problem resolved.He was very thorough, very experienced and great at troubleshooting, very determined to correct my nightmare drain. While every step of the way he ensured I understood the work recommended to be done, it was a no pressure visit. I didn't feel like I was being nickle and dime like the other plumbing companies. Billie installed a clean out which made it possible to detect where the obstruction was located, which was outside of the building. A plumber named Nathan from Mr. Rooter is incompetent and unethical. He tried to get me to replace a part that didn't need replacement and further tried to overcharge me to do the work.

These guys are the worst. Incompetent, Slow and way over priced. The guys that came had no idea how a septic system even worked. Beyond awful experience. Don't ever call them.... you will be sorry!!!!

Called for a camera inspection of a clogged lateral under a city street. John P. performed the service and called in the blockage. The city was out in less than an hour to confirm. It was fixed four hours later.

We found Luis Trujillo at Mr. Rooter Plumbing to be extremely hard-working, competent and professional. We had a major sewer drainage problem and he went above and beyond the call of duty to diagnose and fix the problem. He worked relentlessly to get our water flowing again and explained everything to us along the way. He even worked most of the day on the 4th of July to complete the project. It was a major project and they got it done quickly and gave us a fair price. We would definately use them again.

My first ever review. I had a plumber come over to check my stopped up kitchen sink. They couldn't get their snake to work because my drain was so clogged with accumulated gunk over the years. The 2 pipe was reduced down to the size of a pencil. Long story short, I needed to replace the 60 year old cast iron sewer lines under the slab. They said they could do that by digging down 6ft and tunneling in under my house, not disturbing my tile floors or kitchen cabinets. WHAT? Everyone knows that Clairemont soil is mostly RED CLAY and impossible to dig! I could never do it myself.They replaced all my iron pipes with PVC by tunneling under the house in just 2-1/2 days. Javier had done this kind of job many times before and knew exactly what to do, and how to do it...very professional. After they left each day they cleaned up after themselves so good I could hardly tell they were there. I thought the price was a little high but they offered reasonable financing for costs that we were not prepared to incur. After it was all done I said to myself, it was a little expensive, but very worth it knowing it was done professionally and I would never have to deal with the sewer pipes again. If you were trying to decide between plumbing companies I would recommend these guys over Bill Howe, since we have had them over for something else earlier and had an unfriendly-like experience.......
