Starting some time last week my main water shutoff valve to my toilet started failing. Even though we're shelter in place for COVID right now, a toilet is rather a P0 emergency issue.
Marco came by, replaced the water shutoff, the fill valve, and the flapper, all for the quoted price, no hidden gimmicks or costs.
As I was writing the check I asked oh since while you're here, can you give me any pointers on my kitchen sink's drain?
You see, for 5-7 years or so, the drain has been backed up. I gave up after hiring 3 prior roto-rooter services which were unable to resolve the issue. The last one told me the pipe was corroded shut and they'd charge $12k to fix it. Seeing how I don't own the house, I declined. I then forwarded this to my landlord who basically said tough luck, not going to help you, you still have a bathroom sink.
So just about 7 years now without a kitchen sink, but since I'm in SF I can't move due to my grandfathered rent, so I just deal.
Then along comes Marco. The first professional to ask, can I take a look outside? All 3 prior services only tried snaking directly from the sink drain pipe. Marco's curiosity needed to know why it wouldn't drain, and that corrosion was unlikely. I brought him to the back where he located my drain pipes. This whole time I was told they were within the walls! Nope, they were right there, with an access point to get closer down the line. Marco was quick to point out the design inefficiencies, the 90 degree angle which makes snaking next to impossible.
Within 90 minutes of his arrival, my toilet was once again fully functioning, better than ever (sounds like a freakin V8 of toilets), and resolved a 7yr clogged drain issue. He went above and beyond anyone else. 4th times a charm? Needless to say I've been doing dishes all night!
Thank you Marco!! You rock man! Hope to see you when this coronavirus stuff is all over.
