Esed is so easy to work with. I had five fixtures that needed to be replaced in my old house, and he expertly did them all in one visit. He is extremely capable and experienced, and knew exactly how to efficiently manage the job. Some wiring was worn and he got up in the attic through a tiny entry in a closet and replaced it so that my house would be safe. The ceiling lights in our dining room (4 in total) stopped responding to the switch this weekend. I naturally assumed the switch had failed and went to Home Depot and bought a replacement and installed it. No luck. Then I called my neighbor, who knows a good deal about electricity and he spent about 90 minutes trying to sort it out, but it eluded him. So I went to Yelp to find a professional electrician and stumbled onto Ideal Electric. The reviews were over the top, so I called & left a message on Sunday afternoon.

I received a call from Esed early Sunday evening and explained my situation. He explained his approach and pricing, which seemed a bit steep to me so I said I would have to discuss it with my wife & would call him back. She said to call him and get him over here, which I did, and he was here today before noon. We immediately liked him and within 30 minutes or so, the problem was fixed.

I will echo everyone who has said he is reliable and honest and a pleasure to spend time with. Plus, he liked our dog, who fell in love with him, so that was all to the good. Esed knows what he's doing and made sure we were 100% satisfied with his work.

I don't want to put Esed on the spot here, but he left a very generous treat for Stella, our pooch. That was way beyond what you'd expect from your friendly neighborhood electrician. Will definitely go to him first when the next electrical crisis arises. Thank you Esed!

We have an old house which has most of our appliances on only one circuit. When that circuit gets overloaded all of them go at once. Normally we just swap out a fuse and flip the breaker back on, but today replacing the fuse wasn't working - which left us without Internet on a very very busy work day.

We called Ideal to schedule an appointment, assuming they would need to come and take a look and see if anything was wrong with the fuse or the breaker box. Instead the owner advised us that before he charged us for an hour or more of troubleshooting time we should first get entirely new fuses and swap them all out, and call back if that didn't work. Thankfully it DID work, since all that had happened is more than one fuse had burned out. We were so busy trying to deal with work at the same time that we didn't think to try that.

So many many thanks for on point advice, at no cost to us! We're very glad to be able to repay that with a five-star review.

Terrible listener and does a horrible job, therefore, of communicating. His questioning left me feeling as though I was a criminal, firing question after question, sometimes repeating the same question even though I already gave a comprehensive answer. There is no way I could work with Esed.

In response to Esed's reply, our conversation was more than three minutes long per my phone log. That is a long time to discuss a kitchen rough in and my attic still has knob and tube for lighting... that's it. Esed could not grasp the later point at all. If he needs to return to ask the question repeatedly (regarding something in which he is supposed to be expert) at different times in the same conversation, it is human to become frustrated, and there is no way I am going to hire him. You all decide. This is the purpose of this ability to write reviews on these experiences with these prospective service providers regardless at what level of interaction we have with them.

And regarding Esed's treating people with dignity and respect..., he wanted to talk me again after writing the review to do something about the one star and to tell me I was wrong.... This is not treating me with respect. This is treating me with great disrespect and not understanding how his behavior on the phone impacted me, his yelling at me, his repeated questions about the knob and tube, his specialty, why I need an electrician. And in the end, it was about him getting me to change my review.

I would give Esed six stars if I could. We had some unusual complications with our old wiring and were wanting to prepare to receive a solar battery backup, as well as rewire the 81-year-old kitchen for a renovation. He went out of his way to ask questions and give explanations that would ensure we got the best value for our money. He even changed his schedule so that our kids would not be disconnected from distance learning when the power had to be shut off during the upgrade.

If you are a know-it-all who is too impatient to listen to an expert, discuss options and gain an understanding of the various systems involved: move along and find a different electrician. If you are looking for someone who is honest, careful, thoughtful and very skilled at his job, hire Ideal Electric.

Ideal Electric is amazing. I've been looking for a reliable and honest electrician for 6 months, and my home projects have been piling up. I've also had quotes and suggestions from other electricians that I just didn't know if I could trust. But Esed was honest and forthright, helping me see what was important and what wasn't of the projects in my mid-century home. He's a craftsman -- he cares about doing high quality work, cutting no corners and caring about the details as if he's working in his own home. He helped me install more of the weird brand of switches and outlets in my home without complaint, and he helped me troubleshoot things I was struggling with myself. He even spent the time to make sure I was understanding every detail, too. And he did all this with transparent, no-BS pricing.

We've been meaning to get our outlets converted to grounded plugs since we moved in but have been hesitant to schedule anything due to cost, lengthy wait times, and complicated processes working with other electricians. I contacted Esed with an urgent request (running 220V to a new electric water heater to replace my home's gas heater, which had just died) and he came out to start the work the same day. My subpanel was already full and we were discussing a very expensive solution (adding a whole new subpanel), but when I identified a simpler and cheaper option (combining a few loads on the existing subpanel to make room for the water heater), he was happy to do that instead. After the plumbers installed the new heater the next morning, Esed came back and connected the power, and everything is working as expected. Overall, I'm very happy with the experience.

I hired Esed to address some issues that came up in the inspection of my new home, and was immediately impressed with his thorough communication, punctuality, and precision. Esed is clearly an expert, immediately diagnosing the quirks in my electrical setup, and addressing them with a thoroughness that left me confident that the work had been done well. I had him replace a dozen outlets, reconfigure my panel, run a 220V line to the back of my home, and install another 220V outlet in the garage, and I plan to hire him back soon for some additional work. Esed remains our go-to electrician. He is reliable, capable and just all around stellar. The ceiling light/fan in Alan's office was having issues, the light intermittently flickering when the printer was being used. Alan called Esed over the weekend and he was able to come today to troubleshoot the electrical system and to rule out that that was the problem. He did rule that out, which was a relief. He determined that the light/fan was defective. We'd bought it about 5 years ago. Alan had ordered another light/fan and it was sitting in its box in the living room. Esed took down the old one, assembled and installed the new one and replaced the defective light switch on the wall in that room w/ a new, modern one. He disassembled the old fan and put it in our garbage can and broke down the box the new one came in and put it in our recycling can. When he asked if there was anything else he could do, I asked him to change the calendar on the wall, which the kids usually do, but they've been sick and haven't been over. He did that too. Esed's fee for all that work was extremely reasonable. He does his best to save you money and I appreciate that. Besides, he's a sweet man.

Esed at Ideal Electric is a lifesaver! He was the only one that could come out on short notice to help an urgent situation. We blew out our power right before the holidays and discovered our electrical service panel was not to code and we were not connected to PGE correctly. He came out and gave a thorough estimate of the issues and what needed to be done. His work is top notched and his work is clean and tidy. Esed is a real pro and is upfront with his services and pricing. We were very stressed out as our power could go out at anytime. He came in with such experience and knowledge that it gave us some peace of mind. He knew all about working with PG&E and closed all the loops. He takes full responsibility for his work and will be the intermediary to PGE if your work involves dealing with them.

Lastly, I find him to be an honest business man. He even advised me to look elsewhere if I wasn't happy or refused work because it might serve me better to not hire him.

I was looking to install a Tesla Wall Charger (HPWC) in my garage. After talking to several electricians and getting multiple quotes, I found Esed's quote to be very reasonable and in-line with what the Tesla community was saying it would normally cost. He immediately picked up my call, answered all my questions in great detail and clarity, and assured me that it would be doable with my current home setup. He arrived promptly on time and finished the job quickly. He is very efficient and clean with his work. The charger fits seamlessly on the wall and he was able to do it without any cables showing, which is a huge plus. He even printed some new labels for my panel :) After the job was done, Esed asked me to test it and it was only charging at half the capacity as what I expected. When I pointed this out, Esed immediately double checked his work and realized one of the wires was incorrectly switched and fixed it quickly. After my first night of charging, everything works great and as expected! Esed is very knowledge about his field, friendly, and easy to talk to. I'll definitely be going with Esed for any future electrical work I have and would highly recommend him if you're looking for someone to get the job done correctly!

Esed was able to come out the same day right before Christmas. He did an excellent job of running two new circuits to my laundry room, very clean and neat, too. He did not leave a mess, and the outlets look very nice. I felt very confident that he knows what he's doing, and he got me up and running with my new washer and dryer. Very fast worker, too!

The only drawback is that he is very expensive. Esed is upfront about his prices, and he won't even come out to give an estimate without you having to shell out $350... so keep that in mind. If I had been patient to wait a month for another electrician, I could have saved a lot of money. He charges almost double what other electricians charge. However, if it's worth it to you, then go for it. I didn't want to wait a month or longer for some of the other good electricians, especially with Xmas and New Year holidays coming up.

Top notch. I spent a lot of time trying to find an electrician; had some variable responses and some that were just too busy. But Esed made an appointment and said he would work me in; he was a little brusque on the phone but I don't think it comes from a place of not actually caring or being rude. I convinced him I knew something about something by taking accurate measurements and pictures that helped him make his estimate remotely. He showed up a little bit late and seemed genuinely apologetic.

He came up with a plan to install a commercial grade heater on our patio; this required getting into the circuit board and running cable through the attic. He came up with a plan for mounting the fixture, which was nice since the heater did not come with one. He completed the task in a single day and stayed on budget. I cannot complain at all, was very satisfied with the service and would use him again. I recommend him without reservation.

While I did not end up hiring Ideal Electric, I am compelled to write a glowing review because he actually saved me the money of hiring an electrician for an emergency call! He was able to diagnose the issue over the phone and offer trouble shooting advice for free to see if the tenants could fix the issue on their own. It worked! He was so clear, nice, and genuinely cared. I will definitely call again if I need an electrician in the future!

10 stars actually.....I hired Esed to do a complete Electrical Upgrade of an 80 year old home. The challenge is that it is a lath and plaster finish, make an electrical upgrade more challenging. The project included getting a permit for all of the work, installing light fixtures, over 35 new grounded plugs, 7 new circuits, removal of an ancient fuse box, installation of many light switches and dimmer switches, and wired smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, all to code.

Esed had an in depth meeting with us for which he charged for his time. This meeting was essential in order to define the scope of the project and how much it would cost. His written estimate was detailed and realistic. Along the way we ended up installing extra wired smoke alarms, and light fixtures in locations where it was not easy to install them. Because some of the fixtures did not come in on time, Esed had to return a few times. Getting the permit finaled was another time consuming thing to do. Had I known Esed was such an awesome Electrician, I would not have pulled the permit, but I needed to be sure no shortcuts were taken. Esed is not a shortcut type of Electrician. He does his work super professionally and he has excellent communication skills.

A word about Craftsmanship: Esed's work is super clean and beautifully executed. Even the wires inside the boxes are super clean in execution. If he has to make a hole in your plaster, it is a clean easy to patch hole. His hole patching colleague does a beautiful job as well.

A word about Knowledge: Esed is really smart, and his knowledge of Residential Electrical makes him stand out head and shoulders above other Electricians I have used over the years. We had to solve a light fixture challenges and Esed came up with safe, practical and attractive workarounds.
He can explain to a lay person WHY taking a certain approach is the best approach, but he can offer alternatives as well.

To summarize, there were many changes in the scope of the project, initiated by us. Esed did a beautiful job of communicating where things were going, how much things would cost, and how long things would take. His written estimate was professional detailed and easy to understand. He managed not to get frustrated with what it would take to finish the job. Esed is super efficient and gets more done in an hour than many other Electricians. If you are looking for the cheapest Electrician around, Essed is not your guy. If you are looking for the best Electrician around, then Esed IS your guy

I didn't even get a chance to meet this guy face to face and he helped me out immensely!! I called him thinking I needed a new circuit breaker & he proceeded to trouble shoot with me over the phone. He gave me asked me questions about the circuit and gave me a tip on how to flip the switch to restore the power ( an extra step involved then simply flipping the switch) which is what I did.
Then,get this, he stayed with me on the phone as I went thru my apartment to see if the outlets worked ! What???! They don't make 'em like that anymore - he's the real deal! He actually showed interest in my problem and showed compassion.

Sorry, but explained my issue and agreed to the $450 troubleshooting appointment, even thinking it as a bit excessive. Said they expected to be able to do it last Friday afternoon and would call in morning to confirm.

Saved the day! Electricity went out of most rooms on Christmas Eve. I checed breaker switches- flipped gently- nothing happened. Figured I'd just live 19th c style til I could get someone in after the holidays. Reading Yelp on Christmas, Ideal was listed as open til 9 pm today. Really? I called, and the gentleman walked me through the panel and how to flip a tripped switch with a little trick. I followed his directions- and- it worked! I laughed- he said You just saved $350 I said Thanks, best Christmas gift ever. Esed and Ideal Electric were fantastic. I needed to get Fiber optic cable installed in the house but there was no route from outside to where the router was. So I needed conduit to be installed. Within 30 minutes of posting the project on Yelp, Esed called to ask about the project an get the details. He had a good understanding of what needed to be done and came to the house that evening to check on the specifics. He gave a good quote and took the time to explain if an why it might change (it didn't ). He was around the next day to install the conduit, taking into account any request I had made about placement. The conduit had to pass through two dry walls and an an outside wall, and Esed took great care so as not cause any damage, made a watertight seal on the outside wall. He made sure that there was no mess at the end.
I would highly recommend Esed for his professionalism and quality of his work.

The person who answered the phone was amazing. I wanted a service call for an outlet for a garbage disposal that wasn't working.

My diagnosis was that I needed a new circuit breaker. I thought I had reset it properly, but I hadn't. He asked me a few questions to diagnose the problem. Then, he talked me through the proper method of resetting the breaker. Problem solved!

I called back a few minutes later with a second question with that outlet. He analyzed that and gave me directions to resolve it too.

I had called two other companies first. One never called back, and the other said two weeks to come out. If I have any electrical issues in the future, I will call Ideal Electric and recommend him to my friends.

I had a potentially dangerous situation with wires overheating and glowing. I called Ideal based on the Yelp reviews raving about his experience and troubleshooting knowledge. Esed arrived on time and quickly assessed the situation. He went to work immediately and methodically fixed all the wiring to the circuit breaker panel. Then he alerted me to a problem with the meter box and suggested that I contact PG&E. He waited for the utility service man to remove the meter and then fixed the problem within the meter box. Esed is the best. He is direct about his fees and schedule which apparently puts some people off but I found him very knowledgeable and an expert electrician, as well as being a very nice and patient person. I appreciated that he took the time to ask careful questions about the electrical problems I was having over the phone before coming out. He will advise against making changes if he thinks they are a waste of money or are unsafe. He also makes recommendations on how to reduce energy use. I found him to be the ideal solution for a variety of pesky electrical issues in my house. He also saved me a pile of money by recommending against buying an imported washer dryer set given the limitations of wiring in my laundry room. Highly recommend him, very good value for money.

Esed is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I needed an electrician on short (emergency) notice when my 100 year old wall socket started making scary noises inside the wall. I found Esed on Yelp and basically picked him because someone said it's like having Werner von Braun fixing your home electrical needs. It's quite the compliment, really :)

Esed picked up my call right away, got back to me with scheduling info exactly when he said he would, was promptly on time, offered me great, straightforward rates (with an unsolicited a locals discount--what!), was super straightforward and helpful with all of my questions, had everything he needed right in his truck to save time, and let me watch him work (which was fascinating.) This is the second time Esed has worked his magic for our electrical needs. Esed came very highly recommended through several of our neighbors and friends as well as glowing reviews on Yelp. Important; this is NOT the same Ideal Electric as in San Mateo County. This is our very own East Bay-located Ideal Electric!!

Esed Okanovic saved my life...literally!!!! I was feeling strange vibrations through the faucets while showering. Didn't think much of it, 'til other family members described the same thing, and my daughter's hand froze up on the faucet. Uhhh...I think we have a problem.

Based on Yelpers' ratings (hurray Yelp!) he was the first local electrician I called. But i, anxious about an evidently serous situation, misdialed his number, and coolant reach him that way (note:the Yelp listed phone number IS correct) so then took step 2 of contacting via Yelp's text msg set-up. I then proceeded to phone several other electricians, describing the problem Responses varied from Sorry, we can't get there for two weeks...maybe next time (gee, thanks!) to tTurn off everything immediately...then call someone else because we can't come. By comparison, Esed texted back immediately upon receiving my worried message, explained his pricing in detail, and said he would come that afternoon...instead of putting me off and scaring me simultaneously, as others had done.

Despite the rainy freeway commute that day, he arrived early, took care of this serious problem (an electrical wire had fallen on the bathtub and shower plumbing) showed me what he'd done, explained it in a way I could understand. When he said, It's now safe I totally trusted him.

As the icing on the cake to excellent electrical and communication skills, Esed is a lovely and very interesting man. if you're lucky enough to have a few minutes before he leaves for his next appointment, ask him about his travels and his home. He has practiced his skill in countries 'round the world. We are fortunately he's settled here now: not just in the USA, but in the East Bay.

Esed came off a bit rough around the edges in the beginning of our first phone conversation, but by the end, he was friendly and informative. He was the only electrician to come up with an out-of-the-box idea to convert my unique garage wiring into a viable NEMA 14-50 outlet. I hired Esed after requesting bids from multiple electricians to add a new sub panel and outlet to support an electric dryer to my home in Berkeley. Esed impressed me immediately. He analyzed a photo I texted of my current panel and asked a number of questions to help assess the job. He quoted the job on the phone and helped me understand what it would cost. He was straight to the point and didn't waste any time. He was ready to work on the job the very next day (a Saturday!). The other electricians I spoke with wouldn't have started for weeks after. Esed's bid was significantly less than the others and he was finished within 24 hours. He has a pleasant demeanor and a sense of humor. He left the job site in impeccable condition. Just had Esed switch out a sub panel from fuse to circuits, install recessed lights throughout the house and add ceiling lights in all of the bedrooms in the home i just bought that was older. Esed is a total professional and very thorough and conscientious in his work ethic. We bought a 1910 Craftsman Bungalow 3 years ago and the previous owners had done some DIY upgrades that were executed in a way to appeal to buyers but when the curtain was pulled aside revealed a mess of wires and a scary reality. Esed's approach is to help you achieve the best results for your particular problem and he offers choices to consider along the way. Having dealt with a number of contractors, we were waiting to hear about all the extra expenses we would incur once work began. This did not occur with Esed. He inspected our home and gave us a very reasonable quote on what the work would cost us and advised us about work that wasn't necessary that we thought we may need.

Esed is unique in that he shares his knowledge and is even willing to teach you how to do some of the work yourself if you are so inclined. He is also a great storyteller and we feel lucky to have found him.

Esed from Ideal Electric just completed a project for me here in Oakland. I own other property in other states and have dealt with a great number of contractors of all levels of calibers. Esed is the epitome of professionalism, honesty and his caliper of knowledge is yet to me matched by anyone i have hired. The quality is of his work is at the highest level and he stands by his word regarding the outcome and delivery of the completed work. We recently had Ideal Electric convert our halogen recessed lighting to LED, replace our outdoor motion sensor lights, install a 240 volt line for an EV charging station (and install the station),trouble shoot and repair the GFI circuit to our hot tub, and install some new recessed lighting and a ceiling fan light combination. I list all the different items because Esed, the owner of Ideal Electric, provided excellent guidance every step of the way from clearly explaining the scope of the work, recommendations for fixtures, and an honest appraisal of possible complications that might arise once the work was in progress. His estimate was clear and straight forward. He is extremely efficient and was able to complete the work in a day and a half. The day after the project was finished we discovered that turning on the ceiling light fan in our living room caused our new bedroom one to mysteriously turn off. I emailed Esed and he was able to troubleshoot the issue and stopped by the next morning to reprogram the remote control to a different frequency. It was a pleasure working with Esed and it is very clear why other electrical contracting companies have Ideal Electric on their referral lists.

Nothing but positive comments to make about Esed and Ideal Electric. I called Esed because we needed an outlet installed for an irrigation system. He came that afternoon, gave us a fair estimate for the job and then he did it the same day. He explains all that he needs to do and is very conscientious, correcting small issues that have nothing to do with the job itself. I highly recommend Ideal Electric and will be having Edsed back to do some additional work in the future.

I decided to use Toni's strategy and look for an electrician a little further down the Yelp list. Now, he's higher up. Book him fast! Esed was able to schedule my job for the same week I called him. He discussed with me his rates and different ways he could charge me (time and materials, bid, troubleshooting fee) to make sure I was comfortable with the deal. He called the night before to confirm and showed up right on time.

He completed the work a lot quicker than I expected and he was super-neat. He cleaned up every speck of dust he made. I could not be more impressed.

Esed is a class act. He came to our home without the required $59 fee that others wanted to charge. He gave me advice on the correct charger to install for my new e-golf. I ordered it on Amazon and he came back and installed it. Very professional. Very fair. I highly recommend him.

I cannot recommend Ideal Electric highly enough. Esed answered my call promptly and came over the same day to look at the job and give me an estimate. He is a highly skilled troubleshooter and found a very simple and reasonable solution to a problem

Wow, wow, wow! Esed is simply an amazing, super knowledgeable, highly skilled, and honest electrician. I am utterly impressed with his level of skill and professionalism.
About a month ago, we found ourselves in an unsafe situation after hiring a contractor who did now know a lot about electrical work. To make a long story short, we had a small fire--that got me to call Esed. He quickly diagnosed the problem, gave us a reasonable estimate, and then completed the work in a professional and timely manner, all while explaining everything in a non-condescending manner. Now we are safe! He even gave us advice on other work that was not done properly by another person.
Then this evening some lights went out in our kitchen, and resetting the breakers didn't help. I called Esed and he was literally in our house in 10 minutes! I am not kidding you. 15 minutes later he had fixed everything. For someone of his abilities, he could charge an arm and a leg and I'm sure people would pay that, and yet his fees are very reasonable.
Some people are extremely skilled at what they do, taking pride in their work. Some people are extremely professional in the way they deal with customers. Esed is the best of both worlds. I can't thank him enough!

Esed from Ideal Electric was awesome! We found his business on Yelp when we needed an electrician to help with some shoddy prior work by a contractor who left most of our outlets loose and constantly breaking the face plates. Esed was clear, honest, hardworking and fast. I will call him again the next time I need an electrician.

All the electricians on the top of the Yelp list were booked far out, so I tried a new strategy: scroll down and call an electrician with fewer reviews, but all of them positive. I was not disappointed! I called Esed and he answered right away. His schedule was very flexible, so he came that day for an estimate, and two days later to do the job. I had had one electrician turn down the job because he'd have to climb a ladder to the third floor. And yet another electric company charged triple what Esed charged! ($3000 instead of $1000). I can't speak highly enough of the work he did. He was extremely communicative and gave me all the options with pros and cons. He was very thoughtful coming up with safe solutions and creative ways to run the wiring so it was the least disruptive aesthetically. For free, he even helped me design the kitchenette I was putting in as I struggled with a few issues. He was SOO helpful!! But he needed that information for exact placement of outlets, etc., and I wasn't as prepared as I should have been. He didn't seem to mind at all, and in fact, seemed to enjoy giving input, though was not pushy in the least. Really friendly guy, VERY considerate, very efficient, and even offered to install my daughter's light for free. I didn't take him up on it because I didn't want to take advantage of his generosity. But definitely a good guy to have do your electric. Competent, efficient, conscientious, and easy going. Highly recommend!!

Can't say enough nice things about Esed. The converted garage in my back yard was having strange electrical problems; after a few feeble attempts to fix it myself, I found Esed on Yelp and called him. He answered the phone (which in itself is sadly rare), listened carefully to my description of the problem, provided an initial diagnosis, and then gave an explicit description of his fees. I was able to set up an appointment for the next day at a time convenient to me; he arrived a few minutes early (really!) and worked with me to diagnose the situation. He not only fixed the problem, he explained why he was doing the things he was doing, fixed one of my poor attempts to address the problem without chastising me, and gave me advice regarding preventative steps I could take. He's not only very skilled, he's thoughtful and caring. Would not hesitate to call him again.

Esed from Ideal Electric is GREAT !! I agree. I called five other electricians on the YELP list, and, all were too busy to come out. I needed an electrician in a hurry when I flipped the switch in my kitchen, heard a POP, and all the recessed lighting went out. I called Esed in the morning, he picked up right away, and, even though he had a full day agreed to come by at the end of it, 5pm. He arrived right on time, figured out the problem in a matter of minutes and fixed it. Since there was more time, I asked him to look at another electrical issue I had with my under cabinet lights. Without hesitation he figured out the problem there, as well. I highly recommend calling him. He's honest, skilled and kind. His pricing is also good, and, he is direct and professional about what he charges and why. I will call him again.

I am a General Contractor who has had the pleasure of having Esed as our electrical subcontractor on several jobs of every conceivable size and shape. Having Esed as your electrician is akin to having Wernher Von Braun come fix your model rocket - his understanding of electrical systems, electrical code, and practical implementation is wide-ranging and comprehensive. I am certain he knows more than many electrical engineers, as he recently evidenced by designing and verifying the entire system on a recent full-gutting remodel job. His panels are immaculately organized and labeled, and command the admiration of everyone onsite. One of his best aspects is how he lays out all possible scenarios, even if they are unappealing, before digging in to a project. While this may strike some as being a pessimist, it strikes me as being prepared. That's of the utmost importance to someone in my position. Oh, and did I mention that he singlehandedly does the work of five men? Not exaggerating.
The GC who referred Esed to me spoke of him as his secret weapon. I think that's apt. I think, however, that what this guy offers shouldn't be a secret anymore.

I was very pleasantly surprised working with Esed. He has by far been the most responsive and professional contractor I've come across to date. After reaching out to him for multiple, but minor electrical projects we had around the house, he returned my phone call within the hour, and came by for an estimate later that day. Pricing was very straightforward and he took the time to explain multiple options without being pushy. On the actual day of work, he was exactly on time, worked very efficiently, kept me informed with how work was progressing, and took the time to clean up meticulously after the work was completed. Will definitely be using him for all future electrical work I need done!

I highly recommend Ideal Electric. I have a house in Oakland and Esed came from Berkeley to give me a bid on the same day I called him, even though he had a job in Lafayette. He was extremely prompt, and seriously checked out my small electrical projects. He took the time to measure things, check wires, and he provided me with every possible scenario for the different projects. He was able to schedule the job within the week, and even told me exactly what type of lighting I could buy on my own to save money. Esed was very professional, very prompt and a very honest guy. I would recommend him for any job, he is extremeley knowledgeable! I called the other companies with many good reviews on Yelp, including fighting Amish, they called me back late at night and could not even come out for a bid for about 2 weeks! Esed came out, gave me a bid, and ultimately got the job done in a week! A full week before I could even get any other company out to provide me with a bid for my job! Esed is a hidden gem, and I second the other reviews that said they kind of want to keep him a secret since he is so good, but his stellar work and reputation need to be put out there!!!
