I had several small items that needed to be addressed and had reached out to several different handyman services. With Handyman Heroes, there was an on-site estimate fee (reimbursed if you select them) and they book by the hour, which is a bit different than what I'm used to (project based fee). I ultimately settled on Handyman Heroes because they had good ratings and they were licensed, bonded and insured. I'm so glad I did.

While there was a delay here and there by a couple of days in communication, Miguel was very responsive throughout the whole process, answering my many questions and they really listened to me and did what they could to address my concerns and needs - I will tell you that this RARELY happens with any contractor. Communication is almost always an issue! I had questions on the initial estimate (we couldn't afford to do all the work I had initially had them quote) and they assured me I would only be billed for the time spent doing the work on the projects we selected.

Regarding the work itself, Mike and Francisco came on time and did the work well! Our major issue was that there was water getting into our walls around the windows inside when it rains, so I suspected it was due to cracks in the wood/stucco around the window frames (due to what the previous contractor told me). Mike confirmed this when he climbed up on the ladder. They scraped off the cracked paint and repainted the frame where there was damage and put some wood putty there. They sealed the cracks they saw with high grade sealant. Most importantly, they did everything the right way! We had some fairly heavy rain over the past couple of weeks and we had no wet patches around the windows, yay!

With Handyman Heroes, there is no upselling or recommendation of work you don't need and they don't sit around on the job to rack up the hourly charges. They are an open, honest and well run contractor/handyman business - a rare find. Their rates are very fair for the quality of the work they do and I would absolutely refer them and use them again.

I've used Handyman Heroes twice now for different home projects. I'm a big fan of their professionalism, communication, and, of course, the final work they do.

Most recently, I had a problem with the garden wall in my backyard. Samuel from Handyman Heroes was punctual and very courteous. He worked really efficiently, checked in appropriately, and explained everything clearly (including communicating the different options I had once he assessed the problem).

Samuel was awesome and, in general, I've only had great experiences with the company.

I had Handyman Heroes replace the back door leading out to the backyard, replace some window screens and fix the bottom of another door.

Communication was excellent with emails and calls with their office. They had several people come by to check measurements and take photos.

My wife uses Handyman Heroes at her work showroom in the city so we tried them out with a few miscellaneous projects around the house. We made an appointment to have someone come out to review the projects. Within 48 hours we had an itemized bid. Once we confirmed the work we wanted done, they sent Jose M. out to complete the work within a week. Jose was on time, super professional and friendly. Once we showed him the projects, we left him to it. He worked quickly, meticulously, and left no trace behind. His work was top notch and worth every penny!

My structural engineer recommended Handyman Heroes for a fairly significant lower-floor renovation in our single-family home in the City. The HH team tackled the demolitions, new concrete floor slab, MEP, and some finishes too. For any work that they don't do in-house, they often have trusted subs. I had my own subs as well.

If you are looking to work with HH on a sizable renovation, I would recommend figuring out who your project manager is and try to meet that person early. I tried to do that with every firm I interviewed. At HH I lucked out with Anthony as our PM, who has the know-how and network to get things done, and was an excellent project manager and communicator. All the other HH staff we met were stellar. We met various crew members at various stages of the job -- they left the site clean and tidy everyday. Larry really excels at customer service. Just a very professional group.

Other thoughts: They have a T&M model (which I think is unusual for larger renovations), and a markup on materials they purchase -- those are their terms. I also purchased plenty of items/materials directly.

Overall, with great professionalism and communication, and a great crew, they've been a pleasure to work with. Thank you HH!

This is my second time working with Handyman Heroes. First time they made us some built in shelves and they were awesome to work with. Efficient and super friendly people that I would gladly work with again, told all my neighbors about them.

For some reason, I did not think they did electrical stuff so I reached out to referral services and nobody wanted to take on the work, but Handyman Heroes stepped up right away and got it done. This time Stephen came by and was once again awesome, very helpful and super friendly. He had extra time and helped fix a few other things around the house and even coached me on some stuff. He fixed our doorbell/intercom system that other companies said could not be done, kitchen lights, and a chair poorly manufactured by Room & Board (yes, I am calling them out because it was not cheap and it turns out 3 of the 4 chairs were not built right).

I am never going to make the mistake of looking anywhere else again. These people are awesome.

I needed floating shelves installed in my kitchen, and it needed to be done on marble tile. Also problematic, we had very little certainty as to where the studs were, scary!

Samuel Hernandez from their team showed up right at 8am (as promised) on a Monday and quickly surveilled the job. After a bit of thinking, it was clear he knew exactly what to do. He problem solved issues that arose on the spot, and was very communicative when the homeowners input was required.

There were some slight communication issues upfront. My initial description (email) of the job did not seem to get communicated word-for-word to the contractor, but thanks to Samuel's know how, this was not a major obstacle.

Overall, they have well-trained people, which is the true value when trying to get something complicated done. Strongly recommend.

This years massive rain in San Francisco also caused a leak at our ceiling.
Handyman Hero 'squeezed' as in on short notice, outlined the potential efforts and broke them down in 3 different work steps quickly.
At the end we (only) needed step #1 (opening the ceiling/patching holes on roof) and step # closing the ceiling, which was done promptly, with a flexible schedule on demand and very good quality.
Special thanks here to the contractor Samuel Hernandez for his quality and highly in-time work, and his pleasant interaction personally while being in our apartment clearly telling us what is going on while also always checking for any preferences from our end on the project along the way.

So easy to work with! The owner came out to give an estimate, and work started the next week.

Jose and Mike did a great job with a couple one-off fixes (rehung bifold closet doors and fixed a loose exterior door hinge) and a drywall patch/paint from a leak above (a plumber previously fixed the leak). We have a tenant who said the ceiling looks perfect, and said they were ontime and easy to have in the house.

And, the work invoice was less than the estimate! When do you see that happen?!? Definitely will be calling them again! Thank you HH!

I had a really good experience with Handyman Heroes. They responded very quickly to my initial inquiry by email. Stephen showed up on time for the appointment. He finished everything within 4 hours. He installed a chandelier for me; also replaced the old silicone in the shower enclosure. He also installed a new light switch in one of our rooms. He needed an additional piece for the chandelier but he quickly took a trip to the hardware store and got it for us. He was very polite and efficient. This is our third time working with Handyman Heroes. The first two times were very small projects (one was in the middle of pandemic) both times we had Mike. Mike was awesome. He was professional, quick and did a great job with a jammed/broken double hung window and with cutting a mail slot in our garage door.

Our third time working with Handyman Heroes was for a much bigger project. We upgraded our attic space to be a more finished home office. For this project we had Samuel Hernandez and Jose Mendez. They were fantastic. The were knowledgeable in all the aspects of the project and knew what to do when encountering anything that we hadn't anticipated. They had great recommendations for things we hadn't thought of. Another bonus is that they were friendly and thoughtful and worked well together. We are really happy with how our project turned out. This company did a remodel to a bathroom -they were very conscientious & professional, & did painstaking work. They may not be a fancy remodel service per se -I imagine they're equally good.

I had some issues with a cracked ceiling that developed sometime after -it may not have been related to the remodel (if anything the building is old & there may have been some resettling after the work was done, perhaps). But Larry agreed to repair it as a warranty protection. One of his crew members (Steven) came out & completely fixed it -again, helpful & conscientious. This is a high quality service.

Stephen was fantastic. We recently moved into a new house that was a flip and quickly identified several projects that needed addressing ASAP, including: 1) addressing a sealed off mailbox slot in the side of the house, 2) installing a emergency gas shut off valve for a dryer, 3) attaching house numbers, 4) testing some lose wires for attaching security cameras. I was thrilled with Handyman Heroes. They were super responsive via email with scheduling, and were able to accommodate a weekend time. Their handyman, Vince, arrived promptly and was able to give us a detailed overview of the types of lighting fixtures we needed along with some suggestions for some other home improvements. We also asked them to assess the labor required with tearing down a wall and building a closet in our home and he had some great insights about the structure of our house. We will happily use them in the future.

JOB: We needed a heavy sign hung up in our office. I got a quote that was 8x as much as Handyman charged (not kidding). The two gentlemen who showed up to hang the sign (Stephen & Jake) were ON TIME, friendly, efficient and did a great job. Bonus - they were very conscientious about cleaning up after the job.

We hired HH for our bathroom remodel. We provided the design and all of the decorative building materials, and they did a great job of doing everything from reworking the plumbing and electrical to reframing where necessary, setting the tile and prepping for cabinet and stone installation. Samuel was our lead contractor who did an outstanding job. Meticulous about his workmanship and very easy to work with. Jake was our main plumber and he, too, did a very thorough job. For small general contracting jobs like a bath remodel, Handyman Heroes is a very good option.

Highly recommend. First time needing a handyman in SF. Setup was easy - they ask for a few photos and description. They are very responsive. Hourly pricing is clear, as is the 3hr minimum.

Srdjan showed up on time, and was very professional. Wore booties to keep the house clean. Installed two TV mounts and a bathroom cabinet mirror with some electrical work. High quality work. Trustworthy and nice. And very efficient. Will be using Srdjan for all my handyman work.

It was such a blessing to have found Handyman Heroes through Yelp. I have used them for several jobs already, and we were very happy with their work. They're very prompt with their scheduling, and they have a very nice communication ethic. They set-up the whole area well, and they definitely clean up wonderfully after everything's done. I don't worry about little things needed fixing in the house (or at the backyard) because I know I can count on Handyman Heroes for the solutions. Our doors don't squeak and get stuck anymore. The knobs aren't hand-unfriendly anymore. Our water Reverse Osmosis system got new filters. I need to schedule them for plumbing stuff. TL;DR- Handyman Heroes Kyle and Mike redid our bathroom in record speed with incredible attention to detail and excellent communication!

The longer story- We moved into a new house and hoped that the one bathroom in the house could be remodeled in a two week window before we moved in. Larry came out to give us an estimate on replacing some dry rotted posts. I happened to mention that the bathroom needed an update but that I didn't think it could be done before we moved in. I showed Larry the bathroom and explained that there was only a two week window for the project. Larry took a look at the bathroom and said that Handyman Heroes could have it done in two weeks!

Megan was super helpful in explaining the process and getting everything set up.

Our Heroes (literally) Kyle and Mike were amazing. They worked super effectively on our short schedule.

Kyle was friendly and communicative during the whole process, helping us with decisions and keeping everything on schedule. Both Kyle and Mike were detail oriented and really cared about getting the job done right. They were nice people and easy to be around while they were working and I was doing some projects on the house. They kept in mind our moving date and were conscientious of our home and our parking situation.

We got to move into our house with a bathroom that is not only fully functional but has some beautiful craftsmanship! They also replaced some rotting posts, and followed up after the job was all done. I highly recommend this team and will definitely use Handyman Heroes for our future home projects.

Requested Handyman Heroes to come out to our condo and take a look at our door jamb, floor boards, and window. I knew when I called them that they charge to provide estimates but that it would go towards the work cost. I had no problem with that as I planned to hire them regardless.

Two men arrived to take a look. They were friendly and really seemed to want to help. There wasn't an issue as they took a look at each item and discussed how much work would be involved. However they said they wouldn't be able to fix the window which was a bit annoying since I thoroughly explained it in my request, but understandable.

As they were leaving I had to pay them the estimate fee and they said they'd send me the estimates by email and that they could start work as soon as I sign off on it. The issue was when the email arrived and the estimates were way higher than expected. Their estimates also included a high markup on materials. There was no way I could hire them. So even though the visit went well it felt like I was being taken advantage of afterwards.

My brother and I ended up fixing our door jamb and floor boards with our father's help, spending a day and less than 10% of what Handyman had charged. We still lost the $75 or so for the estimate charge but chalk that up to a lesson now. That's just how some places do their business. It all worked out for us in the end.

We needed a safety assessment and possible replacement of a recessed ceiling light after water damage. Handyman Heroes was recommended to us by a local painting company who is doing the ceiling repair and painting. Handyman Heroes immediately responded to my service request with clear expectations of service and fees. Larry (one of the founders) came to our home within 2 days. He assessed our light for safety, and repaired the light fixture. We were very satisfied with his service and professional expertise.

Fantastic across the board! I can't tell you what a relief it is to deal with honest and talented contractors! Mike who did the work was not only efficient and showed true craftsmanship but was thoroughly professional when it came to our home and the work being done. He worked quickly and kept us well informed and the work site was kept clean and did not drift into other areas of the home. Punctual and hard working, Mike showed great care in treating our home like he would his own. This company is highly recommended and for very good reason, we will be using them again, and again!

We had used Handyman Heroes for some work in SF and they were fabulous, the work in Berkeley was disappointing - I contacted Larry and sent him photos. He came by and decided to redo the work himself at no charge. Larry is a professional and a stand up guy who stands by his work. I appreciate it.

We had a fairly big project, but it was too small for any of the contractors I contacted. I luckily found Handyman Heroes. I needed to replace a cabinet in my kitchen, as well as the refrigerator. Would I use Handyman Heroes again? Yes, absolutely. Would I manage my expectations? Yes. They would be 4.5 stars if I could give half stars.

We had to fire a different contractor after a 5-6 week project had dragged on four 5 months and they had no intention of finishing it. After we got in tiling specialists to finish the tile, we needed a small team to finish taping the walls and do all the finish work in the bathroom.

Due to some scheduling miracle, after discussion on Monday, the construction arm of the company (headed by Vince) started Tuesday (this NEVER happens in SF!), and they were mostly done by Friday, with a little extra work leftover. This portion of our experience? 5 stars. I would highly recommend the construction side of HH.

Once we got most of the bathroom sorted, things were less urgent, and the workers were more on the handyman arm of the company. Some of this crew seemed to be the B team to finish things off (e.g. the drywalling of a closet took a week to finish, with 3 different guys working on it). Because we were happy with the bathroom, we asked Vince and his team to do a second project: fill in one doorframe to make a wall, and smooth out the drywall in a hallway. The doorframe portion was great, finished about a week after they started, but the hallway was less impressive - so much so that Vince himself had to come in and touch up what their guy did after we had painters come in. This portion of our experience? 3.75 stars.

Vince is very good with communication (albeit seems like he's got too much on his plate most of the time) - which is huge. While they had cancel a few afternoons (out of many days working at the house) and there were a few less-than-perfect solutions, we were okay with it because he was straightforward about when they were going to be there or not - which is a huge difference from a lot of contractors in the Bay who just won't show up.

Vince also helped us problem solve a number of different issues with things the other contractors did incorrectly. And when we raised issues with minor adjustments on the bill, everyone in the office was prompt and courteous. While we were billed before the work was complete, we waited to pay until everything was done and that was never an issue.

I really do recommend Handyman Heroes, I would just suggest (1) having a clear timeline (2) being flexible and (3) being clear about billing expectations. Also, I think the construction side is under-sold and as far as we could see, were a really wonderful team to work with, in case you're considering a remodel (the name throws you off a little).

This review is not about the quality of their work b/c I did not use them. Sergei came by to look at what I needed done and gave me a quote couple days later. I asked him when are they available to begin. I didn't hear back from him. About two weeks go by and I get an email from Sergei saying he's following up on the quote he sent me. I replied When can you start? Never heard back from him. Their follow up is lacking and I'm so glad I didn't use them. I found someone else.

Once again, Handyman Heroes to the rescue! We had some heavy metal shelves we wanted mounted to a bedroom wall. They look great installed in the showroom but we were scratching our heads on how to install, how to make sure we lined them up and ensuring they were safely and securely anchored to the wall. Mike came to install. He was courteous, efficient and had a can do attitude. He made it look easy and gave us confidence that they would be securely installed. Have been nothing but consistently impressed with HH. So communicative, incredibly organized and focused on completing an awesome project as fast as possible, and just a lovely team. Referral: Our handyman (Mike at ReasonableMike's) referred us to HH for our renovation: conversion of large shower to bath/shower, relocating gas and water for W/D, and converting an oversize one bedroom to two bedrooms. From the first email received by Dispatcher Hero, Megan, it was clear that HH placed strong emphasis on responsiveness and attentiveness to customer service. Additionally, the creative and skilled problem-solving executed by the HH crew were appreciated; those were effective skills to fuse the old with the new in our construction project. All this at a fair price.

Shout Outs to Heroes:
Larry the Leader's thirty plus years of contractor experience fused with a customer service orientation fueled his keen ability to hear and synthesize my convoluted ideas and articulate them in a common-sense, straightforward concept. After an initial estimate visit, Larry returned to the flat to remeasure certain items as I had changed my mind about a couple of items. With patience and graciousness, he spent half an hour on the phone talking through those changes, clarifying my ideas, and offering suggestions. Further, he made the permit process seamless.

The Project: Daily, promptly at 7:15 am, HH's Roberto, Guillermo, jr., and Sergio arrived, ready to start at 7:30 am. Sergio the Facilitator ensured the project stayed on track: coordinating the crew, including an outside refinishing floor contractor and a fabricator for countertops; maintaining an open door cellphone policy; supplying materials in timely manner; and providing enhancement suggestions to finish off the project, Roberto, the Handyman Whisperer, seamlessly moved from tiling bathroom floor and shower ,hanging doors, rerouting gas and plumbing, and hanging mirrors. Whenever I asked him something, he replied: Whatever you want...no problem. Guillermo, Jr., as Righthand Hero, provided efficient and conscientious efforts in wall work and electrical rewiring. In final stages of the project, Guillermo, Sr., the 'sage Hero,' arrived to assist Roberto with 'finishing and polishing part. During last week , everyone came, including Jesus, to finish the job within the deadline.

As other reviews have mentioned, Handyman Heroes is a bit of a misnomer in that the crew will take on larger, more involved projects like mine (5 weeks) in addition to smaller projects. This is not my first rodeo in home projects but certainly my most positive. I have already referred them to my neighbor. And, when I am ready for the next project, without a doubt, I would reach out to HH again.

We have a house we once lived in and now rent out. The last tenants were there for 10 years, and when they moved, there were 10 years' worth of things that needed to be fixed or upgraded. Smoke alarms. Old paint. A couple light switches that no longer worked. An interior wall covered with 1970's vintage wood shingles. An old stove. A bathtub with a rust spot that had leaked and been patched three or four times during the prior tenancy.

I called several contractor/handyman types, each of whom offered to fix one or two things, but couldn't handle others. Then I called Handyman Helpers. They sent Vince to look at the house.

We walked through the house and made a complete list. The things Vince couldn't do (fabricating a replacement window, for instance, and replacing some worn carpet), he told me who I could call to get them done. The others, he asked me if I wanted to buy the materials myself to save money (I agreed) and he gave me a complete list of stuff to buy at Lowe's and/or Home Depot (primer, paint, rollers, light switches, fixtures, etc). Then he (and his team) did the work. Throughout the process, Vince was available to answer questions and solve problems, even when he was working other jobs in the neighborhood concurrently.

I would (and intend in the near future) to use him again for another project. The folks he referred to me for various parts of the job were unfailingly professional and skillful at what they did, and the end result was exactly what I needed.

Working with Handyman Heroes was a breeze, from top to bottom. Communicating with Megan was as pleasant and straightforward as I would hope. We were quickly able to schedule a site survey. My work schedule can be quite busy, so Larry made sure the survey was fast, but thorough. All the necessary details were sorted upfront, which made things much easier for both parties on day of the project. As for the work, Guillermo did an excellent job. He made sure to keep me posted as he day went on, I felt very safe in his hands. He actually finished sooner than I expected. All said and done, my neighbors were grateful that the noise was kept to a minimum and were all eager to compliment the final result. Oh, and it was priced exactly within the range I had hoped. I highly recommend them!

I had a great experience working with HH. Vince initially came out and did an assessment and helped me figure out what to buy for the next visit (this was not charged for the visit since scheduled a follow up service). He was ill and unfortunately couldn't make it the day of the service, but coordinated with Thomas to take his place. Thomas did a fantastic job. He was professional, worked quickly but safely and thoroughly, and got all my small projects done. I will certainly use this service in the future.
Update (and why this is only 3 stars)

I was happy until I received the bill which was inaccurate. There were excess charges applied. There were some areas where I felt the team was dishonest. Ultimately I was able to go back and forth several times and bring it down. However, I felt taken advantage of and felt that their business sneakily add in extra costs, under the guise of going the extra mile.

If you need handyman services, stop reading reviews and call Handyman Heroes. You can't find a better service. But, if you want to hear my experience, two big things stand out.

First, a couple of guys came to my place but declined to do half my tasks, telling me they would require specialists. Larry came out, scoped the entire project, and said they could do ALL of them. HH is full-service.

Second, two guys told me my broken livingroom window was IRREPAIRABLE and that I would have to replace all my windows (at a cost of thousands). Vince came out, tried to fix it, and his first solution failed. I said, I guess those guys were right, this window cannot be repaired. No, Vince replied. This can be fixed, I just have to keep digging/researching. Once Vince sets a goal, get out of the way because he's going to find a solution come hell or high water. He's a bulldozer. Naturally, he found a way, bought the necessary parts and fixed it. Works great and now I have air! The room is totally different. Amazing what a small adjustment can do.

Also, my under-counter lighting had an electrical issue, another handyman said it would have to be ripped out and replaced. Vince found a creative solution, fixed it in two minutes (literally, two minutes). Several other annoying things were repaired with lighting speed and quality. Vince doesn't fix the symptom, he fixes the root cause. These guys are the best and they saved me a TON of time and money. They should change their name to Handyman Geniuses.

I had a few projects that required a handyman and am very happy that I found Handyman Heroes. They were responsive to my initial contact, which, in itself, is a big deal. While searching for handyman services, several I attempted to reach didn't bother to return calls. I spoke with Benjamin and arranged to email pictures of the work I needed to have completed. He made some suggestions, and we scheduled an appointment. I'm guessing they are super busy, because the first available appointment was a little over a month out. MIKE came out yesterday and did a great job. He arrived on time, asked me to show him the projects and got to work. While I had the benefit of his skill, I asked if we could add a couple of items to the list. He was very accommodating and pleasantly got them completed. He had to leave a couple of times to pick up parts, but the trips were quick. MIKE's work was precise, and neatly done. When the job was complete, he cleaned up and left everything looking great. Thanks, Mike, Benjamin and Handyman Heroes. Your super hero jackets are cool.

I had 4 windows that had broken glass that needed repairing. A new window that needed to be ordered and put in, and a stair tread that needed to be replaced on a rental property. The estimator came out and said they could not repair the glass without removing the whole windows, taking them to their shop to put in new glass and putting the windows back in. The estimate was nearly $4k. Rather than go through the hassle of ordering new windows and getting permits from the city, I decided to go with them. They gave me a date 3 or so weeks later.

I went to the property 3 days after the work was to be done, with a plumber, and was told Handyman Heroes never showed up. Or called. I contacted them and was left a voicemail that the workers arrived on site and said that they wouldn't step foot on the property because they felt it was a bio hazard. !!! I am not sure what they meant, because there was nothing exposed on the building. No trash, no cracks in the structure, nothing. I know, because I was there 3 days after. It was exactly as it was when the estimator was there, and he didn't mention a problem. I have had quite a number of people on site giving estimates on various jobs at not one said anything about a bio hazard. In fact, the plumber I was there with 3 days later said the building was really well kept up.

I called the person who left the message. He never called, but emailed. I asked for more information but never received a reply.

Frankly, I had high hopes for more work for the Handymen Heroes since I manage several properties, but the unprofessionalism of not contacting me, and giving an excuse that I know to be untrue rules them out for any future jobs

He found elegant, creative solutions to unpredicted problems (like things not fitting perfectly) - I would have never known if he didn't point it out. We had difficulty getting them to respond to phone calls. Once we got over that hump, we had a crew (Anthony and Joel) take care of some issues around the house. Some were simple tasks, like cleaning and replacing the furnace filters, and some more involved issues: dry-rot removal, wood replacement and painting. Overall it was a 4-day project.

They showed up promptly with the tools and materials required for the work and cleaned up after themselves every day.

The work was carried out thoughtfully, and with a high level of craftsmanship. They were quicker than estimated. Good and fast, what more could you want?

Handyman Heroes was recommended to me by my cousin. Larry (owner) was so responsive and came out quickly to our condo to provide an estimate. We were assigned Ron as the project manager who is just so organized and amazing. The communication and customer services is top notch!!! The workmanship is excellent, the company is very professional and they all wear T-shirts identifying their company. They were perfect for our condo remodel as they understood how to handle all the complicated condo HOA paperwork. They also understood and complied with all the complex HOA regulations and kept the condo HOA facility manager pleased. A shout out to Megan who scheduled our project promptly. And kudos to Kyle and Milan for their great work in the unit. I highly recommend them and would use them again (probably for our house in the near future).

This company is great! They are responsive, honest and have excellent staff. We had a complete rehab of a large apartment done by them at a very reasonable price. The work was excellent. We had a the BEST experience with Handyman Heroes! We had a plumbing leak from our kitchen which created damage under the house. After having the plumbing repaired, the Heroes (Ron & Mike) came to repair a wall behind our dishwasher and deal with the wood damage underneath the house. Ron & Mike were on time, wearing masks, personable and did a great job on our repairs. They cleaned up, including removal of the 20 foot pipe the plumber left under our house.

I often hear about construction work exceeding schedule and initial estimated cost. My recent experience found that untrue at least as Handyman Heroes. On time and even under estimated cost by 2K. The workers are professional, clean, considerate, and like-able. The job was a complete bathroom remodel and the crew could not have been more cordial, informative, and easy to work with.
Two hard working guys showed up on time everyday, they worked so hard, cleaned up everyday when they left the site.

We had them come last month to fix an assortment of problems around the house--everything from a dripping faucet to a noisy washer, and also had them do some patching and painting. It took a little back and forth to arrange the times (normal), but we were very happy with the end result, and it was also very pleasant to have them (Kyle and another guy, don't remember).

This is the second time I have used their services. Both times I was impressed with their professionalism. This last job was the replacement of some rotted trim over my garage door. Guillermo showed up exactly on time, explained what the was going to do, and proceeded to get the job done quickly. He did a superb job. His cuts were exact, paintwork well blended and well applied. He even used coated wood screws to make sure there would be no rust bleeding through the paint in the future.
I'm a retired tradesman myself, and I know quality work when I see it. Obviously, so does Guillermo.

I'm honestly appalled by the behavior of the logistics person Louise. If you end up speaking with her, just expect a lot of back and forth, a lot of dates changing, and possible yelling on the phone. We were scheduled to have doors installed in our building in July. She changed the date on us twice, switched our contractor, and then when I asked her to fill out some paperwork for insurance for our building, she started yelling at me on the phone. I do not recommend people go with this team unless you need some low level, scrappy work.

I've worked with other contractors who are much more professional. They have no problem providing their insurance and description of work and they do a good job. I was really excited to work with them but the process was revealing.

If you want someone that can reliably schedule, that won't go back and forth on you, please try someone else.

Vince is THE BEST. He truly is my hero. Had him to my new apartment and provided him with a laundry list of things I needed done--he did it all, and fast! He bolted bookshelves and cabinets to my walls, cut and hung shelves and pegboards, hung art, hung bathroom shelves...I could go on and on. I even had a bench with a wobbly leg and he MacGyvered the leg and fixed it on the spot! The best part is he's super nice and really skilled and efficient. Would recommend to anyone (in fact, I already recommended him to friends in my building and they love him too)! Thanks, Vince!

We had some large-scale acoustic sound panels that needed to be installed in our office loft. The issue that there were MANY pieces to this installation with the precision of placement KEY.

The Team was AMAZING!! Larry (the owner), Denny, and Mo, were all on site exactly as said, and knew exactly how I wanted to execute this installation.

To be honest, I ALMOST went with a TaskRabbit, but so glad I didn't.

Had a very good experience with Ron. He helped out with a variety of odd jobs throughout my home, some in the category of never had a chance to get around to them, some in the category of gonna need some help for that.

I would add that Ron was very cautious about the white walls inside the house. He washed his hands before installing the light fixtures and was very careful about not scratching the walls with the ladder.

Bottom line, you're not just paying for labor, you're paying for someone who has years of experience and wisdom on how to fix things.

It was well worth it.

I used Larry for a home renovation project earlier this year. I looked at a bunch of different contractors but chose Larry's team for a few reasons 1. He came with a strong bid and 2. He was able to start soon and 3. He had prior experience with the house with a prior owner.

Once we signed the contract, first thing Larry did is assign Damon to the project who was my day to day point person. In the first week, things moved very smoothly. Early in the second week, we hit some snags on our design but I liked that Damon was very informative on the potential options and the costs/delays associated with it.

Larry's team is more so than other contractors aware of cost and time overruns and will do their best to stick to a schedule. As with any contracting job, expect to hit snags but they will be up front with you on the potential solutions. Lastly, they take pride in the work and end product they put together which is awesome.

Overall, definitely a group I recommend strongly.

I love this company, very professional and they always send skilled handyman. I've used them twice now and both times they did excellent work. This time I had Miguel here -- he was super friendly, did great work, was fast and efficient, and I would happily use his services again in the future for other tasks. He installed two floating shelves, removed some window shades, helped with wire management, moved a couple paintings on the walls, and a few other tasks. He was really clean as he worked and was professional and friendly the whole time. Highly recommend!

I could not be more please with Handyman Heroes. From the phone service and scheduling with Louise to Vince our man in Menlo Park, to all the other small and large jobs we've had them work on they are EXCEPTIONAL!!!
We are a boutique interior design firm in San Francisco and it's difficult to find folks for smaller jobs. These guys are THE BEST. I have larger projects opening up in the next few months and I wouldn't hesitate to hire then for full kitchen or bathroom remodels.

This time we decided to tackle our garage, which is a mid century concrete add on to our original Victorian House. Believe me, we are grateful for both the space and the curb cut but over the past 15 years the interior of the garage had deteriorated to the point where it was not functional as either a garage space or even for storage. The space leaked water from the side where it attached to the stairs, and the interior walls consisted of spalling (a new word I learned) concrete. Literally the walls were falling off. There was a deep fissure where the garage door attached, which in our minds likely was unfixable. Plus due to lack of ventilation, the garage...smelled.

I made a call to Handyman Heroes based on a friend who is a Realtor. Louise was the person who returned my call and was so essential for communicating what the job was and initial scheduling. This is a real advantage for Handyman Heroes- a full time communicator and scheduler--something many Handyman companies lack, and so you wait for calls that never come or get someone who is over booked and can't finish the job in a timely fashion. She even gave me addresses of similar jobs done in the neighborhood so I could drive by.

The way it went in my case is that Vince came out to look at the job. My favorite kind of person-someone who says IT IS FIXABLE! He took a good look at the whole job, improving the drain to the side of the garage on top, repairing a crack on the top of the deck area, somehow diverting water from the roof, stop the leaking into the garage, repair of the spalling concrete and fissure, paint the top of the deck and the inside of the garage, and paint the interior place where the stairs have been shored up with copper green in order to mitigate further water damage to the stairs. Whew.

Within a day or two we got a formal estimate which was definitely not cheap, but within the ballpark of what we expected. We signed the bid and got on the schedule, a few weeks out.

The day we arranged the whole crew showed up befire 8am. Larry (one of the owners) came to check the job before work commenced.

Mike and Ben were our crew, and they got to work in a big way, scrapping all of the spalling concrete, until they got to sound stuff, which we were very happy they found. Then they installed wire mesh along the side of the wall that was most damaged, removed the cracked concrete in the fissure, and Mike designed an amazing rebar structure for the hole which was huge. Ricardo came to do the plastering which was quite an effort by all of them, smoothing and smoothing until the surface was just about perfect.

Mike installed a drainpipe from the roof (2 inches wide instead of 3/4 inches wide), designed a scupper to divert the water, installed a new light fixture and outlet in the garage, impeccably installed vents to the garage door, filled the crack on the roof of the garage, made the walls look like new and painted the sides and roof of the garage with drylock paint, sanded and painted the top of the garage with a texured color paint picked to match the house. PLUS the garage does not smell anymore!

All along the way, Mike and Ben were efficient hard workers, communicating through the process and getting our input at various points. They worked hard every day for the week they were here, and came back just when they said they would to finish the paint. The whole crew were true professionals with an outstanding work ethic.

It is not often that expectations are EXCEEDED in a job like this. Not only was our problem fixable, (my favorite kind of problem), but fixable in a professional and top notch way.

Huge thanks for Vince at Handyman Heros for his help on our condo. During the initial visit, where we wanted to pull out old bathroom vent and replace with a new fancy fan- requiring cutting into the ceiling, etc- Vince instead recommended that we order replacement parts for our old fan, he took photos of the model number and let me know what specifically to order. It was so easy and helpful, we ordered parts for our other fans as well for him to replace. He hung a blind in our kids room that multiple other handymen struggled with. We talked through other potential projects, and he took the time to walk through various parts and different approaches to the projects. He's really helpful and thoughtful, and his recommendations are pragmatic and cost efficient. Very happy with his work and looking forward to working with him in the future!

This is the first time Yelp reviews let me down. I thought by using a professional handyman service I wouldn't have to deal with poor service -- I was wrong.
The handyman showed up late and worked at a snail's pace - they charge by the hour. The worker would not stop talking about his serious health issues and other personal things that I didn't want to know about. I was also working from home and found it in appropriate and annoying. When I finally told him I couldn't talk he got on his cell phone to tell the stories again. One the job was completed, I pointed out that he spilled paint all over my tub -- he took 45 min to clean it and charged for that time. It was ridiculous.
The work was completed in good standing but it's not worth the cost and trouble.

We worked with Vince and a few people at the back office, who did an amazing job replacing a fan/light/heater and housing in the bathroom of our apartment.

Everyone responded by text, phone, and email quickly. We got everything setup with appointments near the time of communication and Vince went out of his way to find and procure the least expensive option to replace the unit, reaching out to the manufacturer in Canada among other things.

I had a huge list of repairs that needed doing that I put off for the last one to five years. I finally decided in the new year I wanted to get them taken care of because I was sick of procrastinating! I read reviews to several handyman companies but my gut told me to go with this one. I emailed the company and they promptly responded with when someone could come out for an estimate. My handyman was Vince and after reading so many positive things I was glad that he was the one they sent.

Conveniently, he came over after I got off work and gave me a very reasonable estimate of the work that needed doing. Handyman Heroes charges by the hour at a minimum of two hours, which was fine with me since I knew it would take a few hours to get everything done.

When it was time for my appointment Vince was on time and he immediately went to work. (Vince is very efficient and quick! ) He managed to get most of my list taken care of and what he couldn't fix he didn't charge me. I would totally recommend hiring Handyman Heroes for your home repairs and whatever you need doing inside or outside. Apparently, they do it all. I even introduced my dad to Vince so that he could get his home repairs done by this company.

The price was very reasonable and I am VERY pleased with the work! Thanks for your service Handyman Heroes!

Contacted Handyman Heroes to help with an emergency repair at a property that we manage and received a response within the hour. Louise was able to find someone to come out the next day and find a replacement tiles for the ceiling all with in about 2 hours. Ron who came out to do the actual repair was great! He arrived early and was able to trouble shoot what we needed done which required hand cutting the acoustic ceiling tiles to size.

With the rain a few more tiles fell over the weekend and after contacting Louise again she was able to get someone out with in a few hours. Top notch communication and service from start to finish!

Very pleased with the service and more pleased with the ease of setting everything up. We will be using them in the future!

Vince was great! He came to our office at 7am (to start the projects early so not to disturb during working hours). He hung several large custom wooden art pieces, we pointed to the wall and he took care of the rest. He brought all the tools to get them centered and within the studs of the walls, he even brought the necessary hanging hooks. Vince is kind and courteous, diligent and methodical. We gave him a challenge, a honeycomb inspired wall cling design (drawn crudely on paper) he mapped out the walls, measuring and calculating and the finished project looks amazing. The polygon wall clings were each hand cut and pasted to the wall with such precision that people ask if they came in a preassembled kit- we receive compliments from ever visitor that comes in!

Well I cannot say enough about Sam's willingness to provide exceptional customer service. Unfortunately I had to have a plumber more familiar with retrofitting bathtub fixtures - they were leaking from behind the spout and handle. Sam graciously paid for the repair. Then several months later the mirror starting to have black streaking - unfortunately the original installer used liquid nails that eats the silver off the back of the mirror. So again Sam graciously sent out staff to remove and replace the mirror. Exceptional customer service but make sure the task at hand matches the skills sets of the staff.

We needed some little electrical jobs done. We tried Electricians and they said the jobs were too small. We called Handyman Heroes, and they sent out someone immediately. He did things for us like hang a chandelier, repair a light switch, rewire an outside light, as well as suggest that battery operated motion lights outside would save us extra wiring costs. While the receptionist and handyman were responsive and very pleasant, I would not recommend this business. We had some simple, but heavy bi-fold closet doors hung. The work took 5 hours - no that's not a typo - FIVE HOURS. Add to that, the handyman charged us when he was gone for 30 minutes retrieving tools from his house that he had FORGOTTEN. Folks - it shouldn't cost almost $600 just to hang some closet doors. We were ripped off - don't get ripped off too. Learn from us.

They transformed our antiquated and clunky kitchen into a timeless and fully functional one with more open space. We remodeled two bathrooms in our 1960s eichler in SF. It was a challenging job and Vince was the perfect guy to take it on. He was communicative throughout the process and he felt like part of the family after it was all done (my one year old kept looking for him at 7 am every morning!). Vince did a great job laying intricate tile patterns in both of our bathrooms, working with our designer and vendors to keep the project on track, and keeping a tidy workplace since we were living in the house during the remodel. I am so impressed with Vince who came out to my apartment yesterday to install roller shades over our huge floor-to-ceiling window. Upon drilling into the ceiling he noticed not only is it not drywall, it's not even concrete... his concrete drill bits were worn down because he was coming up against STEEL. Oh shit, I thought. I'll never get these custom-shades installed. Just a quick thought later, Vince said we could install into the window frames, which were metal. (The thought of doing that never occurred to me) Heck why not? And so, after making a quick pit stop at the hardware store for the proper screws, he drilled into the metal window frames effortlessly, perfectly hanging the 4 sets of roller shades. What a huge difference it's made in our apartment, keeping the blindingly bright and hot light from overheating our 10th floor apartment. On top of this, Vince was just a pleasure to work with, very cordial and professional. I can not recommend him highly enough!!

Handyman Heroes really helped us out of a bind with relatively short notice, providing quick service, and being friendly and accommodating along the way! The company sent Oliver, a young man who made two trips to our office with tools ready to go and smiles for everyone.

We recently moved into a new work-space and needed some wiring done for internet access. Comcast came and told us it would take at least 60 BUSINESS DAYS to have anything done because, by their definition, running a couple dozen feet of panduit/wire molding along the perimeter of a wall to hide external cables for internet hook up constituted as major construction that required multiple levels of approval.

After no contact for about 40 days we got impatient and contacted Comcast who then informed us that they basically forgot about our request, that no one was scheduled for a site survey, and they weren't sure how long it would take to send out an electrician to do the wire work prior to internet installation. With their permission we decided on hiring a third party service to do the preliminary wire installation. We gave Handyman Heroes a call. They came out within a day to do the site survey, provide us a fair quote, and went off to purchase the extra parts needed for job completion. We made an appointment for installation for the following week, and the installation job was completed smoothly and without any difficulties.

Comcast finally made the effort to come to our office after 50ish days. The site surveyor saw the wire work done and was impressed by how clean it looked. He said there shouldn't be any problems. A man from Comcast just came TODAY to hook our office up with internet and, upon finishing the job, also commented on how clean and professional the panduit/wire molding job looked, and how easy it was for him to work with what Handyman Heroes installed to get his job done.

I have nothing but great things to say about the team at Handyman Heroes. In early 2016 we purchased a home and had Rick come out to scope out several projects we needed done. He and Louise were prompt in their replies and flexible with scheduling. When it came to the work, our project lead was Vince and he went above and beyond to deliver excellent work that was timely and on budget. As it turns out, our house is a bit of a lemon and several unexpected issues came up during their initial work and as recently as this month. Through every issue and emergency, I've never hesitated to call Vince for help. He responds immediately and helps us triage the most sensible plan. In some cases that has simply been to refer us to a plumber or roofer that can help and in others, it means Vince is at our house within days to help us fix our latest issue.

Most recently, we experienced flooding downstairs due to heavy rains and Vince has been out multiple times to help isolate and fix the problem.

If you're looking for a reliable, honest and pleasant group of people to work with, I'd recommend Handyman Heroes. A year later and we are still working with them.

He's worked on several jobs for my company's office, and he's always right on time, on-point, prepared, knowledgeable, fast, proactive, and conscientious. Yes I know there are a few services out there with more competitive pricing, but having the handyman show up exactly on-time, totally prepared and on top of it, friendly, and then doing an immaculate clean up is beyond worth it. Definitely not your usual handyman! Vince was our lead PM and he and his workers were really great. Vince and his crew were always polite and professional, very clean and willing to go above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Their work was detailed and high quality. The job consisted of removing rotted wood from our deck, replacing it with fresh wood and replacing the existing wood railing with a steel wire railing and a wood cap. They also power-washed the underside of the deck and removed mold and potential dry rot. As an added bonus Vince power washer our lower outside landing and didn't charge me for it. In addition, they did a great job of removing some ornamental features on the front of our home to give it a sleeker, more modern look.
Vince and his crew consistently arrived on time and worked hard all day. They laid down tarps in the house to protect my carpets and wood floors from dirt and their shoes and tidied up the work area at the end of each day.
I was very pleased with the completed job and I would recommend Vince and his crew to anyone. Ivy

Vince and for Handyman Heroes deserve all the raves they get. Vince and his colleague Clayton removed an above-fridge cabinet, shortened it to perfectly fit a new fridge and reinstalled the cabinet. Having to maneuver in a very tight space could not have been easy but they did it like it was no big deal. They were such a pleasure to deal with -- friendly, happy to answer questions and efficiently quick without rushing and cutting corners. During the work there was an unexpected glitch which Vince took care of it without my even asking.

This was my first time using Handyman Heroes but they will be our go-to team from now on.

So I had a leak from the shower down to the kitchen ceiling. Small bubble forming below and signs of water damage near the shower area.

I called a contractor before to look at it, and I get the whole head shaking tsk tsk response. The bad news delivery starts This is bad. You're going to need your tiles redone...blah...blah...and its going to be roughly $12,000 for the basics.
Holy crap.

Googled the problem and everyone was basically recommending replacement of the shower doors or the shower enclosure. I patch the ceiling downstairs saw that it was actually dry so tells me that its not a consistent leak like if it was from the pipes or the pan. Shower company comes in and gives me the same tsk tsk but recommends that I call Handyman Heroes.

I get an appointment within the week and was told Vince will arrive at 9:30. Not only does Vince show up a few minutes early but he's friendly and very personable. He looks at the issue and goes Not sure who told you to call me but this is just a shower door replacement. He inspects the shower area and confirms his diagnosis. He shows me how the shower door had settled unevenly as well. Doesn't try to do the whole drama thing that some contractors do. Straight up recommends doing some simple cleaning and get the door replaced. No charge. Nothing. Got a have a nice day, you can definitely do this yourself and offered his business cards only after I asked.

Seriously, what contractor have you guys dealt with who doesn't up sell on some other recommended services??

Now I have a handyman that I can trust. Was ready to budget for the worst so wasn't going to be a big deal but its good to know that there's still people out there who are not fixed on making money and just wants to provide a good honest service.

I like this company because they have the ability to handle many different types of things like electrical, construction, repair, carpentry, etc. Recently with the heavy rains I started having a problem with water leaking into the house. I was convinced that it was a roofing issue or problem with the outside wood siding or trim. The company sent Ted. He arrived and was quickly able to inspect and to diagnose the problem and determined that it was really a plumbing issue. It was such a relief to get a clear explanation from him, as I was almost ready to look for a roofer or contractor. This saved me time and money. Thanks Ted.

My heating duct separated from the heating vent and the heat was going everywhere except for the room that was supposed to be heated. I had called several HVAC companies and either they were booked for a month out or they had a $400 minimum. I contacted Larry at Handyman Heroes and explained the situation. He got someone out to the house in a couple of days and he fixed the problem in less than 2 hours.

They did the job and did it fast.

I just had some work done in my house by this group. I was very happy with the work they did and the timing. Danny was especially kind and friendly and explained what needed to be done and what the timing involved (because the grout had to dry, for example--so should not be complete in a day). I will use them again in the future for sure!

I've used them twice now and both times they provided an experienced worker who was able to handle both electrical and non-electrical fixes. In this last session in under 5 hours he installed THREE ceiling fan light fixtures, installed 2 pendant bar lights, replaced an electrical outlet, fixed the front closet door and installed a new locking handle for a door. Will certainly use again. Plus the company itself is reliable and good at communication.

Handiman Heroes did a fabulous job on replacing my front balcony all of my stairs. The original stairs were literally falling apart and the entire structure had to be replaced. Handyman Heroes came to my rescue! They were very professional, conscientious about keeping the area safe and clean, and the end result is beautiful! Vince from Handyman Heroes showed up for an initial consultation. I explained that one of the issues was that my closet doors did not fit properly. He took a look around the closet, grabbed one of the doors, and started jostling it hard. So hard, in fact, that he ripped it (and the bottom hinge) out of the wall. That's when he noticed that the bottom hinge was ripped out of the wall, turned to me, and said that's part of your problem, right there (apparently ignorant of the the plaster and other debris from freshly ripping the hinge out of the wall). I was flabbergasted. What I didn't realize until later was that the closet was now resting on the exposed metal hinge, directly on my hardwood floor. Now I have several deep gouges in the floor. Oh, and the closet door is still broken (and going to be fixed by a different handyman service). Thanks Handyman Heroes.

I was referred to Handyman Heroes by my realtor. We had a number of projects around the house that were beyond my skill.

We had a soft spot in our dining floor that was alarming. We were worried that this would turn into one of those rabbit holes that home owners dread. Words like load bearing and failure were at the front of our minds. We had a security gate that didn't latch. Not terribly secure. Getting hot water to our kitchen was taking forever. We had a Spanish tile that was about to fall off the roof and crack someone's skull. And to top it off our courtyard was flooding.

Larry came out and walked through our various projects with us and was detail oriented and straight forward with the estimates. There were straight forward and more difficult projects. You never know whats going to happen when you start going down the rabbit hole but we had a the information we needed to make our decisions.

Then Carlos and Adrian came out. They were awesome. They worked hard, intelligently, and with clear attention to detail. They came up with a number of creative solutions to problems. For example the courtyard was flooding because the drain in the concrete pad was covered by several inches of debris. But the drain was under the deck so it was impossible to deal with. They built a super slick trap door into the deck reusing materials so we could service the drain ourselves.

Its often hard to find folks in this business with integrity. Carlos and Adrian took our rabbit hole floor issue and turned it into an easy fix. They showed us why it was happening, how they could fix it, and did it quickly.

We've already queued up another set of projects for the team. Awesome.

My main bathroom needed updating, so my team (Carlos and Roberto) had it torn out, replaced and cleaned up in less than a week! Nemo from Handyman Heroes did great work on some complicated projects I'd been putting off. First, I had a set of suspended glass cable shelves that were taken off the wall by a temporary roommate who refused to put them back up when he left. The glass panes were too heavy for me to lift so I couldn't do it, and I'd already had one handyman come by who declined the job because he wasn't sure how to do it. I was feeling pretty worried that the shelves would never get back up (they were also years old so no longer had the instruction manual,) but Nemo did it quickly with precision and ease. I was literally shocked how fast he was.
Next, my flatscreen tv is mounted above a fireplace, and I'd had an issue where they were originally mounted too far down near the fire and the sound bar and bottom of the tv frame started melting. So I needed the TV moved up, the new sound bar installed, and a shelf installed below to deflect the heat. Best Buy, who did the initial incorrect installation, was going to charge over $400 for a full new installation. Thankfully Nemo saved the day (and my wallet) again! He got the tv adjusted and the shelf up; however, I had somehow lost the mounting hardware for the sound bar, but Nemo was able to send me a link to where I could order the replacement. I can't wait to have him return when the part arrives to finish the job.

Nemo was professional, courteous, clean, and fun to talk to. Highly recommended!!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my handyman hero experience. Handymen Hero came recommended and I was excited to have a good contractor. We were having tile re-done on our fireplace. When the project was halfway done we noticed that some of the tile was not perfectly straight and nicely asked our contractor to correct it, he said he had to make a call and came back to tell us he would not be finishing the project and that we should find someone else. We were very polite in our request and showed him with a level the areas we wanted re-done so I am not sure why in the world the thought it was acceptable to just tell us no? We have now wasted 3 days and materials on this project and are left feeling extremely frustrated.

Ted did a wonderful job installing an indoor handrail for us. We had bought the unstained wooden rail at Beronio, as well as the end pieces, and had also bought stain and brackets at the hardware store. Ted came and did the measurements and then took all the pieces away to cut to size and fit together in his workshop, as well as to do the stain. He then brought it back for the installation and did just a wonderful job, it looks really great. We will definitely be using Handyman Heroes again for those relatively small projects around the house that are beyond what we're able to do ourselves.

This is really a 4.75 rating because these guys are awesome and I wasn't 100% satisfied at all times so I can't go perfect 5. This was a relatively big residential project where they put in a master bathroom, remodeled a hall bathroom, and built a kitchen (IKEA).
Rick was our main point person and we also worked with Larry and Brian and they were all three really wonderful. Rick is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and to the point. As the project wore on and we had various dissatisfactions, he remained very communicative and clear and never once blamed us for changing our minds or wanting more done. Larry and Brian were also very helpful and involved and they are all just nice people that you don't mind having in your home.
The work was done on a quick timeline and although it did run over budget (hence the less than 5 rating), it seemed like a lot of nice stuff happened to our house because of them. Their crew was very nice and mostly competent as well. Could have been a little more cautious with placing their tools against walls but they finished everything up really nicely and cleaned the house thoroughly so it made up for it. They didn't feel like they were upselling or marking things up and we got finished rooms that all look really nice.
I plan to hire them again when we do next round projects as we felt like we were in good hands.

Vince from Handyman Heroes saved the day! Or at least, a dangling light fixture, two wonky drawers and deteriorating wood counter trim. VInce arrived early, moved with speed and purpose, quickly assessed the problems, fixed the light and one drawer in the blink of an eye, and returned promptly the following day with new drawer and replacement counter. The counter trim required exact specifications as it indented over a dishwasher and Vince nailed it. The efficient and economical resolution of these tiny annoyances and eyesores has improved the quality of our lives. Really!

Vince from Handyman Hero's is the consummate professional. Yesterday he perfectly installed three external doors in my one hundred year old house. This could not have been an easy job considering the fact that the house has shifted and moved quite a bit over the years, and Vince made sure that the doors fit perfectly before he wrapped up. We needed help with some work around our relatively new home AND in dividing one very large bedroom back into 2 bedrooms. It's messy work - some demolition, some hauling away hauling things in - and it was on the 4th floor. They worked around a complicated schedule too. Complicated electrical re-work, hanging new doors, and drywall work & painting was involved. Felix was the lead guy on the job and he was great. The guys were punctual, tidy, courteous and did good clean up work. Drywall work is very dusty so nothing is perfect folks, but Felix and the 3 other guys did a fine job. We are very happy with our 2 rooms!

I've had a wonderful experience with HH over the last 8 months on my house remodel. Rick has been a great resource and always super responsive and solution oriented. We had some major projects (HVAC, tankless water heaters, exterior painting) as well as a lot of interior work (new quartz countertops, recessed lighting, painting, new closets, etc). When we hit snags (inevitable with SF remodels) Rick always found a creative, cost-effective solution. The subs he brought in on the big stuff and the team from HH who did all the interior work were all great (esp Vince) and Louise in the office is incredibly helpful and pleasant.

Handyman Heroes is our go-to company for anything we need fixed in our old Victorian. Over the years, they have replaced and repaired windows, patched plaster, replaced drywall, and are scheduled to gut and redo our bathroom. The work is always done well. We've had a number of different Heroes do the various jobs, and they are all pleasant, speedy, and neat (not to mention good at what they do). Louise, in the main office, is wonderful--she always manages to make the schedule work, answers all questions no matter how silly or numerous, and provides a heads-up if there is specific information we need to make a project go smoothly. I also appreciate that Handyman Heroes will recommend reputable roofers, plumbers, etc., for the work that they don't handle themselves. I cannot recommend them enough!

We had a great first time experience with these guys. We live in Windsor and We hired them to help us fix a retaining wall in our backyard. We called and added on a couple things and they were happy to accommodate our extra projects. They cut and installed our baseboards and fixed a rotten cabinet base under the sink. I was shocked at the amount of work they completed in 2 days, Nemo and Jason worked their butts of on the tail end of the hottest days all summer. They were promptly on time and vocal with what they were going to be doing. They were respectful of my dogs and baby. A huge bonus that will defiantly get me calling again was how safe I felt with them wandering around my house. I didn't feel like I needed to spy or worry. They worked and worked and worked, never noticed them sitting around or using inappropriate language. I've already told some friends that they did great work :)

I've hired Handyman Heroes twice to complete electrical work. The first time they installed a new outlet in the bathroom and installed a new fan/light fixture. The second time they installed a new light/fan in the bedroom, but it was more complicated as there wasn't a light box in place when my condo was built. Both electricians did excellent work on their respective visits and in a really reasonable amount of time. The second visit was even ahead of schedule, which was a nice surprise! Not only are they great at their jobs, everyone is really friendly and easy to work with. We used this company a few years ago to replace a sliding glass door and mount some TVs in SF. We just moved to the East Bay and were very pleased to find out they service Oakland too. I originally tried to contact a few Oakland-based handymen and no one either had time or did the work we needed (hanging heavy things to the wall). Handyman Heroes was responsive and immediately scheduled someone to come out - Ron (who hung a very heavy mirror and installed our screen doors). They weren't able to get to the TV mounting on the first visit, so they sent out Oliver and Damien a second time to do that. They were really nice and as a bonus, Oliver fixed a plug that wasn't working and Oliver and Damien even moved some furniture for me when they were done mounting the TV (which required drilling and patching some holes in our wall to hide the wires). I'm already planning to schedule them to come back out to fix our external plugs and honestly, whatever other problems we have in the future. 5 stars! You definitely should give this company a try. We've liked everyone we've worked with through the years.

Handyman Heroes recently completed our kitchen remodel, and we are thrilled with the work. This was a full renovation--demo of the space, removing a load-bearing wall and replacing with a post & support beam, plumbing and electrical, assembly and installation of IKEA cabinets, tile work, and installation of all appliances. Ron and Sergio, the day-to-day team on our job, were beyond amazing. They were 100% dependable, their expertise made me feel totally confident throughout the job, and what's more, they were truly considerate and a joy to have around. Along the way, they were fantastic at problem-solving and offered suggestions during the process that made our finished product even better than planned. Finally, H.H. stayed true to their estimated timing and budget... I highly recommend their work!
