I started my business in 2006. I have been working as an Electrician since 2000. We are a family owned business and I feel so blessed to be able to work in this trade for so many years. I enjoy working for, and with many different customers/clients, which over the years I have been able to build many new relationships and meet a lot of great people. Our electricity in the house was going off and on for days.  The lights and some of the outlets. Stewart at S&B Electric was able to help us the same day and let us know it was on the PG&E side, not ours. Then it was fixed the same day. Stewart was so helpful and knowledgeable. Stewart is incredible. I was having problems with the GFCI outlets and the circuit breakers. It was beyond frustrating.  Stewart was very patient and detailed with providing information for me. He was working with me on a Friday night! Technical skills are not a strength for me, but I was able to follow his input easily!
This is not the first time i have worked with S and B. I have had many difficulties with other electrical companies.
Using any one other than S and B was not even a consideration.
He refused my offer to pay him for this time. Who does that?
He and his company are the best!!!!!!

Never met such a great genuine person like him. I ran into some electrical problems with my wiring installation due to some bad advice for Home Depot. Was searching through Yelp and Stewarts (S&B Electric) responded right away. I expressed my problem with the electrical problem and he genuinely took his personal time to help guide me  into solving this problem with just a few pictures. If there was a 10 star rating, this guy would be the perfect person! Never met a life saver who cared about people first over money. He is the superman!!

Stewart and his team were great!  We have a kitchen that is only 2 years old, but had a problem with the dishwasher continuing to short out the GFI, etc.  As part of isolating the situation, I found Stewart of S&B Electric on Yelp.  Not only did Derek and Jose (his technicians) come and do a lengthy and thorough check up of several areas, but later Stewart spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me helping educate me and isolate the problem (turns out in the end, it's probably the appliance...).  He EVEN offered to speak on the phone to the appliance repair company!  Who does that?  :-)  THANK YOU Stewart, Derek and Jose!!!

Stewart is AMAZING. We had an electrical issue where we lost power to half of the GFCI outlets in our kitchen. Our refrigerator, stove and hood had no power along with several other outlets. I tried troubleshooting solutions myself for a day with no success. I browsed various online forums to see if I could find any answers on my own. I had read some reviews of electricians charging ridiculous rates just to make a house call to diagnose an issue, so I did everything I could to avoid seeking out an electrician.

Finally, after coming to terms with the fact that I was going to need a professional's help, I found S&B Electric online and read their myriad of rave reviews. Let me tell you, those reviews are entirely well-deserved. Stewart personally answered my phone call right away (on a Saturday, no less), listened to my issue and summary of everything I had tried. He asked me to text a photograph of my electrical panel to him, after which he walked me through a few steps to try. His instructions were clear and concise, and magically, our power was restored. He didn't even need to make a house call and did not charge us for his time. I am beyond grateful for Stewart and so thankful that others before me left reviews so that we could find him. I would not hesitate to recommend his business to anyone and plan to use his services should I need any electrical work in the future.

Job/Scope of Work: replace electrical panel due to being old/recall, and upgrade several outlets for grounding, and add electrical outlet in kitchen.

Received a referral to Stewart, and called/messaged him. He was super responsive. He came to visit to assess our needs, and provided us a quote. He was had availability to perform the work within 1-2 weeks, which worked out with our schedule. Work was completed within 2 days, which was longer than anticipated because of the weather. Stewart and his employee Derek always arrived on time as discussed. They are both super professional. At the interior work, they always prepped the area to keep it clean and to catch any debris.

We needed to replace our circuit breaker box, and relocate it to code. At the same time, I decided to install overhead lighting in my office. I'd used S&B Electric previously, so I called and scheduled the work to be done on a Thursday - then on Wednesday morning I thought Duh! That means no power for several hours! I called Stewart and he said, no problem - his team provided a generator so that I could have internet service (I work from home). His guys showed up on time, worked fast, were extremely professional and left not one speck of dust. I highly recommend!

Have worked with Stewart twice now. First w a lighting install which S&B was able to do at well below the quote they gave and I was super happy w and then w an electrical issue which Stewart actually walked me through w/out even coming out. Had to troubleshoot flickering lights. I knew it wasn't going to be something simple like a light bulb. They came next day to investigate, tightened sub panel connections. Didn't fix it. Came back day after that to investigate. Realized I needed to replace entire panel outside house. Prob one of the most expensive issues that could fail so that sucked, but they gave me super honest quote middle range of what I could tell from others. Fixed it next day so I don't have to worry about my house catching fire. Upgraded panel that was decades old and properly attached existing solar to panel as well. All in all Sunday - Thursday issue was fixed.

I was a little bummed that they didn't fix the siding (small gap because new panel is smaller) but I understand why this isn't in scope. Stewart offered to fix it as a favor which is great customer service, but it's a $10 fix with some wood from Home Depot and I'd rather make it look proper. If you don't have time to fix this yourself just keep that in mind.

Needed a Tesla Charging Nema 14-50 point installed in the garage and got a quote emailed for $5000.00! I had the same work done by another electrician for under $400.00. S&B challenged if my electrician was licensed ! In any case we had the work done elsewhere and the car charges perfectly fine. Happy to post the quote online if needed.

We were recommended to change our entire main panel. Upon sharing lower quotes from other electricians, we were challenged if they were even licensed electricians !!

Very helpful and knowledgeable company. I called them due to an issue caused by another amateur electrician company, and immediately got a prompt response. They were not trying to take advantage of me, even said they'd waive the charge for trouble shooting and just get me a quote so I don't end up overpaying. Wish I'd have called them first but have found my electrician in the area. Don't bother calling anyone else - SB will make sure your issue is resolved in the most reasonable and efficient way possible.

My wife and I moved to Martinez and bought a 1904 house. We knew the wiring was old and had a plan to attack it in the Spring. But like Mike Tyson says, everyone has a plan until you get punched in the mouth. Rain brings issues to old electrical. S&B stepped in to save the day! Estimate on Tuesday to fix a potential issue turned into a rescue mission on Monday! Problem solved. Replaced the whole panel outside (1940s maybe), avoided a huge issue from bad wiring, but most importantly, my wife and dog are safe and happy.... (and the cat -not mine).Thank you to Jose and the team, and thank you Mr. Brown for communicating throughout the weekend ( Sunday too) to get us safe

We blew a breaker using a space heater in an electric outlet, but the breaker panel seemed fine.  S&B came in the next day and identified the faulty breaker and switched it out.  A thorough and truly professional job, would highly recommend this company!

Ryan with S&B Electric installed a 240-volt heater and thermostat in the garage. This included adding a circuit breaker to the house panel and running wire in conduit. S&B supplied the conduit and wire, while I supplied the circuit breaker, thermostat, and heater. The work only took about 90 minutes and was done very nicely. The price was excellent. I am very happy with the work - thank you so much for a job well-done!

Saturday afternoon and I'm investigating two non-working burners on the stovetop on our electric range.  I've replaced receptacle blocks before so I'm halfway comfortable with this.  Have my multimeter out and so on.

This time, for the first time, I want to open up the front control panel.  I'm investigating power with my multimeter and short something out (sparks fly) and not only did I short out the range locally but I blew power to the whole house.  We have two circuit breaker boxes inside - turn off all breakers, wait, then turn back on, but no joy.  

Go to Yelp and call the first three, I think, electricians.  No one picks up and I leave messages.  Arrive at Stewart's S&B.  He's at his phone and tells me to find the PG&E breaker box on the outside of the house and reset whatever's tripped.  Which works and the power's back on.  We've been in this house 20 years, I've done a little electrical work, but never knew just where the PG&E breaker box is located and this was very useful.

Thanks very, very much, Stewart.  I'm not sure if S&B does residential but I'll double-check and if they do, definitely add them to my phone's Contacts list.

S&B Elecitric is amazing!! I had called another company with a good yelp ratibg and they said their fee for a diagnostic call was $410  then there would be charges for any work done. I called S&B and they came out the same day abd did diagnosis and all work we needed for $325. the technician was extremely knowledgeable and quick and so nice. we will definitely use them again for any future electrical needs!

Responsiveness was unreliable. Performed initial job satisfactory but installation was sloppy and I had to reset the screws in the floor box to set straight and flush to the fixture. Never showed up for second job and got no notification or follow up to this day. Charges we're on the high side averaging $300 an hour.

Stewart is very responsive and provided a very detailed and informational walk through. The quote was priced inline with other quotes we received but we chose S&B because of how responsive, knowledgable, and respectful they were. We had recess lighting installed in 3 rooms and had our soffit light in the kitchen replaced. All of this was completed within one day. So speedy, respectful and knowledgable team. They did a great job and we are super happy with being able to see so well in all of our rooms now :)

Reached out regarding some potential electrical work. Got a quick response asking for additional info. Provided all info requested and some pics of the area to be worked on. The guy stopped responding after that.

Reached out a week later trying to follow up. He said he'd get back to me the following monday. Never heard from him again.  

Terrible communication. Would not do business with these guys.

Needed two light/fan fixtures replaced and cans lights installed.  S&B sent a great team that efficiently got the project done.  They proactively asked great questions about the placement, desired lumin levels, light color, etc.  The team communicated well, were knowledgeable, and worked well.  So glad that I used S&B Electric and was very impressed with the owner who was honest and had my best interests in line when scoping out the work.

Our old fluorescent garage light stopped working, so I called a few places and Stewart at S&B Electric gave me straightforward prices for various scenarios - which was a lot lower than another place that provided a quote. They came, installed a new ballast, and it worked fine for 3 weeks until it went out again. They came to check it out and the cause wasn't clear, so at this point Stewart recommended just replacing the entire fixture with a new LED one. He helped me pick out an inexpensive one online and installed it for free. They also came promptly the 2nd and 3rd times even though they were follow-up visits with no additional charges.

We had a short in the wall in our living room. We had another electrical company out that spent hours and could not find the problem. I called S and B and spoke with Stewart, the owner. I could tell by the questions he asked me that this was the right company to solve our issue.

The short was in our main living area and we had been without power for 4 days. S & B fit us in their schedule within a day and half. The electrician who responded was friendly and found our problem right away. The fix was requiring ordering part and he came up with a solution to avoid this and avoid a delay in the repair.

We we're very happy with the service provided by S &B and will be using them as our electrician from now on.

Stewart responded to us right away on Yelp after we reached out to him with a request to repair some power outlets that were not working at our home.  We conversed over the phone and he kindly suggested checking our fuse box before setting up an appointment for his service, and we really appreciated.  Our phone conversation seemed very efficient and setting up an appointment with him was super easy.  On the decided appointment day, we were a little worried because he hadn't given us a specific time window of his arrival, but when I messaged him on Yelp, he did reply, and he did show up at our house.  We told him that both of us were fully vaccinated, but he kindly offered to keep his mask on - I really appreciated that he was taking all covid-related precautions and social-distancing measures during his service at our house.  He seemed very nice and was personable, making it really easy for us to work with him.  And most importantly he was able to resolve all the issues we pointed out to him - thanks!  Overall, we were highly satisfied with his work and will definitely request his service again in the future if we have other electric work to be done.

I should have wrote this a couple of weeks ago, but better late than never.
I called early Saturday morning because I was having a problem with some breakers in an old house. I'm a lumber buyer and not an electrician, Stewart was cool and said he could come out in a few hours. It was a $350.00 service call, ya I know kind of steep, but it was a weekend and I could understand. He came out fixed the problem and replaced any needed breakers. Here is the thing and why I think this guy is a straight shooter. My company sells breakers and the one he replaced we sell for around 50 buck and he only charged me 50 buck for the breaker. I know some other shady guys would have charged me $100 or even more for that breaker to pad their pockets. Stewart also took my payment over the phone cause I was at work and couldn't be there. I will need to replace the whole box eventually (remember old house) He gave me a quote that seems fair and I will have him do it in a few month (not quit in the budget right now.) Anyway if you need some work done you wont go wrong calling Him!

We left a message for Stewart on a Saturday after losing power in our garage due to a potential GFCI issue we were not able to identify.  He called us back promptly and helped us over the phone to resolve the issue - saving us a costly service call.  Excellent service!  Stewart will be my first call next time I need an electrician.

Stewart was very responsive to my emails and his pricing was reasonable compared to other quotes I received. On the day of, his technicians arrived and worked like a NASCAR Pit Crew. They did a superb job adding electrical outlets for 5 smoke/CO2 detectors, 1 smart doorbell, and 2 outside cameras. They were quick and clean. Even the county inspector commented on their cleanliness later when he came to sign off on the permit.

Overall, I would not hesitate to call Stewart for any electrical work I need done to the house.

We Had an emergency  On a Saturday when I learned that my wires were slowly burning going into my main power box for the house. I called a lot of electricians trying to get someone to come out or even just to respond and get info and quotes. I started to give up as it started getting late but just as I called S&B electric He was willing to help me over the phone. I sent him pictures of what was going on. I thought he was gonna flake on me as well but then he called me back went over what actually needed to be done and gave me a quote. I needed the work done asap my wife was scheduled to go into labor Monday and we were out of power the whole weekend. He was able to come out first thing Monday morning and got the job done. Thank you so much for responding and coming out. It was a huge relief knowing that my house was in good hands. Very honest company that saved me $250. I called Stewart with an issue with my outlets being out. I thought I had reset the breaker box correctly, but he took a few minutes to verify that I had before coming all the way out to see it and charging for the visit. It turns out I had missed something and everything was back up and running in 2 minutes. It's rare to come across a business that wants to genuinely help customers and not just maximize profit. Fast!!! Amazing response supper timely
they worked not only very fast price was fair and the quality was amazing.
They made a scary Incident that horrible experience only due to almost having a fire in my home due to the previous owner having faulty work done.
Not only did they fix everything fully they gave me solutions to prevent a fire down the road.

If you have absolutely any doubts of who to go with I suggest that this is the only electrical company that you deal with because they will always be my go to!!

I was able to have someone come by my house the day after requesting quotes on Yelp. I was working on a small DIY project in my kitchen and hit a road block. He took a look at what I had done till that point and told me I was close to completing the project myself. He took the time to write out some directions and tell me which additional parts I needed to get. He even offered to walk me through putting everything together if I sent him pics of my progress. By the end of the afternoon (with his help via txt) I had my project completed.

Since he did not try to upsell me and was willing to give me directions to finish my DIY project, I will definitely use S&B for my larger projects in the near future.

So last night our lights were flickering, and long story short , turns out the breaker was arcing and had to be switched off.  This morning I called S&B Electric and they arrived this afternoon, fixed the issues, and we are back to full power.  They were quick to respond, professional and really helped us out in a pinch!

I read several good reviews about this company on Yelp and NextDoor so I reached out and got in touch with Stewart immediately. He scheduled a day to come check out the work that needed to be done and provided an estimate that was much better than a few other companies / contractors I had reached out to. Stewart and his team worked quickly and were great at getting back to me with any questions that I had. Stewart was able to provide suggestions that my wife and I hadn't thought about which made everything come together that much better. I would definitely recommend Stewart and his team for any work that you need done around your house.

Work included: Electrical demo, relocate/upgrade garage sub panel, rewiring of kitchen circuits and added undercabinet lighting, new canned lighting and over island pendants.

No-show for the estimate appointment. Eventually tracked them down myself and got a verbal estimate over the phone, provided additional requested photos and info, and was promised a written estimate/agreement so that we could commence the work. They never came through on that either, despite an additional follow-up reminder for it. Just no response. Company can't seem to be able to project manage its jobs. Prospective clients shouldn't have to spend so much effort chasing down contractors to hire for a job.

I initially contacted Stewart about getting a quote for grounding three‐four outlets in my home three weeks ago.  He never responded until i wrote a negative review that he ignored my call, which he responded to immediately and offered to come out on his lunch to assess the job.  Ok i get it, sometimes things fall through the cracks and everyone seems to be super busy right now so i took the review down.  He seemed like a stand-up dude, really knew his stuff, and explained pretty clearly what my options were.  

After reviewing three other quotes we decided to go with him and i messaged him indicating we'd like to move forward asap and that my schedule was wide open understanding that hes backed up two weeks.  He responds and says he'll see when the next availability to schedule the install.  

A week goes by and nothing.  So i message him again and he says he can come out later in the week on Thursday.  Doesnt specify a date or time so like anyone would assume that meant THAT coming Thursday.  

Thursday came and went. He never showed up and didnt even call or leave a message.  I guess a $1900 job is too small potatoes for him to care about.  I feel ive been more than patient, understanding, and forgiving, but three strikes and you're out.  I should have trusted my initial instincts, this guy is a FLAKE!

Based off of some of his other reviews i'm not the only one with this experience.  I'm moving on to someone else a little more professional and respectful of other peoples time.

I can't say enough how grateful I am that Stewart came out the same day I called him.  We just bought a really old house that had a lot of electrical issues.  My dryer would stop working after 5 minutes so I would trip the circuit at the circuit breaker to make it work again and it would stop after 5 minutes.

I found Stewart on Yelp and gave him a call.  He was currently at a job in Oakland and said he would come by after in Concord.  I also mentioned to him that we had some outlets that were wired incorrectly.  He came out early evening and fixed all the things I mentioned.  He is freakin' AWESOME!  I look forward to working with him as I'm sure there are many more problems I will come across with my old house.

I looked through the pictures and he obviously does great work and takes pride in his work.

My parents house in Concord had a power outage. I called PG&E, after a long waiting on the phone, someone finally answered. The PG&E rep looked up the address, he said since no outage in the neighborhood, nothing he could do about it. Then I find S&B Electric from yelp.com, sent a text msg and owner responded right away. He asked a few questions and advised me that it's most likely PG&E's problem. I called PG&E again and told them what Steward had told me. PG&E finally sent a technician over and fixed the issue. My parents got power back without having to waste money.

On scheduled day to perform work, Stewart was a no show and would not pick up or call me back. Wasted my time taking the day off work and finding child care and delayed work that needed to be done.

Responding to the owners comment: More lies. We spoke Thursday. You said you would show up at house Friday between 8am and 9am to perform work. No estimate just to perform the work and I trusted you would show and I did not get estimates from any one else. No mention to me of a sudden hospital stay. I would think someone coming from the hospital would not be working still during this time...

Very appreciative of the work S&B did. I had an outdoor outlet that quit working for no obvious reason. I have a sump pump plugged into it and needed it with the rain starting.

I called four different electricians who were unable to help in a reasonable amount of time. By contrast, calling S&B means calling the owner directly, and he got on it right away. He said he'd figure out when someone could look at it in the next day or so. I told him that even that day was ok.

I imagine this sounds made up, but about an hour later I heard my wife talking to someone. It was Jason, the S&B tech. He stopped by on his way home to take care of the problem. And he did, quickly and efficiently. I'm very grateful for their help.

We had a real problem on our hands after returning late in the evening from a 5-day vacation -- only about half the electrical outlets and overhead lights were working and numerous appliances, including the refrigerator, were out. We called S&B Electric first thing (8:00 a.m.) and explained the problem. Within about 90 minutes, Derek was at the door. He checked the main panel and quickly diagnosed the problem -- one of the PG&E power supply lines wasn't working. He then spotted the problem on the power pole (see photo) and told us how to report it to PG&E and get it fixed. We did, and the problem was solved by noon. Great job, Derek and S&B Electric!

S&B was very helpful recently with non-functioning outlets at our home. Stewart walked us through a few possible solutions initially  and when those options did not work, he was upfront with potential fixes and costs all on a Saturday. He sent a technician The following Monday morning who spent all day repairing our issue. The technician (Thanks Jason!) was great, providing temporary power so we can keep going about our normal day, maintaining a clean work space, keeping us informed on work status, and even recommended some safety related work to do in the future. We had to follow up a little bit in the beginning to confirm the appointment but overall we are very happy with their customer service and quality of work that was done.

S&B Electric went above and beyond helping me troubleshoot a tripped breaker. Over the course of 30 minutes and multiple phone calls and images of my breaker exchanged, I was able to get the power back by turning on the tripped breaker outside the building near the power meter. In the end, my landlord decided to come take a look himself so all I can do to compensate them is leave this glowing review!

The have a diagnostic fee of $185.  They told me that upfront and told me that if it is a small job, the $185 gets applied to the repair or if it is a big job. half of the amount gets applied.

The panel GFCI breaker to our spa was tripping, which we needed fixed.  They sent out an electrician who was working in the area to shut off the power at the spa.  He found the breaker and feed to the spa was not the issue.  The electrician was very nice, but said they cannot do anything more and recommended we call someone who specializes in hot tub repairs.  I was not aware they would not trouble shoot the electrical in the spa.  It took the electrician 5 - 10 minutes from arrival to do the test on the breaker, tell us they could not do anything more and leave.

They still charged the full $185 for the 5 to 10 minutes even though they could not fix it.  I manage commercial construction and know the rates for electricians and the cost for that call.  I was surprised they still charged the full amount even though it was such a short visit, they were not able to diagnose the issue and I still have to call out another repair service to get this fixed.  I mentioned this to them on the phone before they ran the charge, but they said we are just that good....

I would not recommend this electrician.  I gave two stars instead of one, since they were responsive and made the appointment within a few days of the request.

Update: There was no diagnosis over the phone.  We are located in Danville, not Dublin.  The spa is only 3 years old, not an older model and I am very aware of what an electrician does, I just did not expect a $185 service call fee for a 5 to 10 minute visit.

I called S&B Electric to request work to fix our large fluorescent fixture in the laundry room.  I had replaced the four bulbs earlier in the morning with no luck to getting light.  Stuart suggested that the problem was the two ballast components and told me how to remove the metal cover and examine.  The next day S&B got back to me with a reasonable quote to replace the two ballasts. And they mentioned it would be better to replace the 20 year old fixture with a new modern fixture in the same size and told me how to connect the wires when I do the install.  Wow.  What a professional!  We replaced the fixture and saved money too. Took about three minutes on the phone.  Excellent service!  Thanks.

I had a positive experience with S&B Electric. The electrician was on time and very professional. I had a wiring issue in an electrical box for multiple switches. I was concerned that it was going to be a very expensive diagnosis and repair. It took the Electrician about 45 minutes. I was quite happy that I was only charged the amount I was quoted. I would definitely refer S&B Electric to anyone that's looking for a honest, prompt and professional Electrician.

S&B came highly recommended by my real estate agent when I needed work done on my house. S&B did not disappoint. Stewart and his whole team were professional, efficient, and communicative.

In my case, I had to have an entire fuse box removed and relocated, a new grounding rod, Several repairs to canister lights, a hallway lighting system rewired, and several plugs rewired. Stewart and a team of three arrived on-time (7:30 AM) and came fully prepared with all the supplies they would need. They were considerate about minimizing dust and mess related to the efforts, while also regularly communicating the status of the various jobs at hand. As staffing changes arose, or people needed to go offsite, that too was quickly communicated.

Once they wrapped up at 6 PM, Everything looked incredible, even better than I could have hoped. Working with them was wonderful. I will absolutely work with them again whenever I have more electrical work to be done. You will not be disappointed.

Abysmal customer service demonstrates utter disregard for the customer

I first called Stewart from S&B Electric about a simple power outlet upgrade. He  was nice and helpful on the phone. He asked me to text him my contact info so that he could schedule a visit with my tenant. Upon receiving my text, he promptly confirmed receipt. Four days later, my tenant called me about the status of the repair and informed me that no one had called her. I called Steward again to follow up. He apologized and blamed the issue on Yelp's response service. He asked me to send my information again to a different contact number and said his team would reach out to my tenant that day. Once again, I took the time to resend the information he already had. I got another email from my tenant the next day asking what was happening with the outlets. She said no one had reached out to her and asked for Stewart's number so that she could call him directly. I provided the info. I followed up with her five days later later. She said she had messaged Stewart only to be told he would get back to her within two days once he knew his schedule. She had waited four days after that communication and never heard from Steward. In my book, this is inexcusable. I can see not wanting a job if one is too busy or does not like the size of a job (I excepted the price he quoted on the first call, no questions asked.) But if you will make a customer wait for ten days when they could have gone to someone else to get the issue resolved, then waste their time by having them send you their information multiple times. please show some courtesy and turn down the job.

This company really helped me out.  I'm in the middle of a landscaping project, and the well pump that supplies the landscaping water stopped working.  Then another one of my inside circuits went out.  Stewart was able to send someone out the next day even though I contacted him in the afternoon.  Derek arrived mid-morning and went right to work, thoroughly checking out the problem.  Turns out there were three problems, which is what happens whenever you start working on one thing around a house.  Derek said all was good and then left, but the well stopped working again.  Stewart put me in touch with him, Derek returned and said that the landscaper had turned off the breaker.  They were gone for the day so we will find out on Monday if the well pump is still tripping the circuit, or if something might be wrong with the pump itself.  In any case, Derek did his best and was polite and efficient.  The price was extremely reasonable.  I will be contacting this company again for future electrical needs.  I truly appreciate tradespeople who are pros at what they do and are honest and helpful.  The world needs more of that in general.

I had purchased an old house couple of years ago and had consistent issues with my sub-panel tripping.After aweful experience with other contractors from yelp who never called back or contacted me back after 'few days' or were simply 'no shows', I was pleasantly surprised when stewart responded within 10 mins for my request for quote.A few photos of my panel and subpanel later I received a detailed quote.On the day of the job,stewart n his crew showed up on time.All 3 of them were really skilled,distributed work amongst themselves n breezed through the job in no time.We like many Indian households do not wear shoes inside the house so these guys even carried booties and put them on when they were indoors.The cleanup was through and their behaviour professional and respectful.I would do business with them again and definitely recommend S&B electrics for ur electric work.

:I did not have any electrical work done but I did have a positive experience with Stuart.PG&E shut off my power and I needed to replace the main breaker. I made an attempt to replace it myself (single women can do anything). Despite my best efforts, I needed to find an electrician, should PG&E not be able to isolate the problem.

I called what I believed to be an office number at around 9:30pm on a weeknight. Stuart called me back immediately. He was willing to come by my house on his way to work the following morning because we live a few blocks from each other.

Thankfully PG&E was able to fix the problem and save me a few bucks but I now have an electrician for when that time comes. I thinking of installing a whole home fan this year and I now know who to call!

They are amazing to work with. First, communication was so easy. When they arrived, they were incredibly pleasant to work with. Secondly, My husband had hurt his wrist and couldn't help, but they were incredibly gracious and supportive. Their quote was very affordable, and I searched high and low for a good electrician at the right price. The chandelier that they installed was beautiful!! I'm so happy we chose these guys!

I had a weird electrical issue going on, one that my HVAC brother-in-law couldn't even figure out.  I called S&B and asked them to come out, but they suggested that maybe we could troubleshoot it over the phone and save me the service charge.  5 or 10 minutes later, my problem was solved, for no charge whatsoever, and THEY thanked ME for my business.

I was working on a kitchen remodel and my contractor bailed on me.  I made some calls to electrical contractors and Stewart was willing to come out the same day for a quote.  Not only were his prices reasonable, but he was even willing to work in the evenings to help us get our project timeline back on track.   We found Stewart and his team at S&B to be honest, reliable and professional.  I would highly recommend S&B to anyone who needs an electrical contractor.

I apologize in advance, as this review is going to be lengthy.  I just wanted to thank Stewart and his team tremendously for the work they performed at my home on Tuesday this week.  My husband and I have an older home (built in the 60s).  We have gone without central heating and ac for almost 10 years and decided we would like to move forward in upgrading.  We were told that in order to do so, our electrical panel would need to be updated from 100 amps to 200.  We had previously hired a man to replace the roof to our screen room last year.  He said he also had electrical experience and could replace our panel with no problem.  He said it's an easy job and shouldn't take more than a day or two.  His one or two day job ended up a two week disaster with no end in sight.  His work failed the city inspection twice.  All the while, we were without PG&E, as our power had to be shut off during the work.  We went 3 days with no power at all, and lost all the food in our fridge. Also, we lost the majority of the fish in our aquarium.  At that point my husband bought a generator.  It worked for everything but our dryer.  I had to lug wet clothes to a laundromat and twice.  For two weeks we were spending money to fill up the generator with gas twice a day, and I worried that if this guy couldn't pass inspection for our panel, was the generator hooked up safely?   Then, the worker said he had to buy a new panel to make the correction to pass inspection, but the panel was on order.  This was last Monday.  He said that the panel would be in on Wednesday. He promised he would come early and the work would be done mid-day.  He assured us that everything would pass inspection.  I'd made an appointment for the city inspector to come out.  The work was not done, and the inspector came out to find nothing new.  We were charged an additional $150 for this.  The worker said that the panel hadn't arrived but would be in Friday.  Friday he said that it didn't come, but definitely would be in Saturday. Saturday we waited all day with not a word from the guy.  When my husband texted him, he claimed that he had been in pain with a toothache and could not come out.  If that was so, he never bothered to say anything.  By now, I was completely fed up and exhausted.  I started looking up electricians on my phone.  I saw many positive Yelp reviews for S&B Electric, so I asked my husband to give them a try.  I wasn't sure how long it would be before we could see them, as Monday was a holiday.  Stewart replied to my husband's call after only about 15-20 minutes.  After a few questions and the request for some photos of the work that had been attempted already, he said he would get us on the calendar.   He made an appointment for Tuesday morning.  The crew showed up and finished everything in 5 hours.  The inspection passed with flying colors, and our PG&E was finally restored.  I can't say thank you enough for getting us through this fiasco.  I will definitely recommend this company to my friends.  **By the way, I still haven't seen that panel that was on order.

Super impressed w/Stewart. Responded to my Yelp request on a Sunday morning in less than 5 minutes, and proceeded to help me debug issue over the phone to try and avoid a visit. Stewart will now be my first call for electrical needs going forward!

I was able to get an appointment the same day for some electrical oddities happening in our home.  Derek & Mike went straight to work and found a few miswired outlets (scary!).  They were quick and efficient.  I'm pleased with my first experience with S&B Electrical.

Highest recommendation. Stewart called me back after hours and scheduled his crew to come out first thing in the morning for an ac circuit breaker issue. The crew was professional and they made themselves available after they left to make sure the issue was resolved. Invoice was sent via email to make payment quick and easy. Our house is 60 years old with no upgrade. We don't have centralized heating/ac system. We're okay for a while but recently it's been so hot so I bought a portable ac. We don't have three prong outlets so I used a power strip to run the ac. The power strip tripped four times so I called S&B. Stewart was so friendly and nice. He told me to try an adapter and I did. Our ac works fine with it. Stewart was very helpful over the phone and responded to my text messages which is a rarity. Our problem may have been solved by a simple suggestion by Stewart and we greatly appreciate the helpful information. Stewart deserves more than a five star rating!

Stewart from S&B Electric helped us to fix our electricity after storm blew a tree on our roof and broke some cables and the electricity box on the last nights of the year.
With a very difficult situation we were in, Stewart called right back after we left him a message and he acted very professional and pretty on time.

This morning I had a potential wall outlet that was malfunctioning & emitting a electrical smell. Called Stuart & he immediately sent out one of his guys Jason.  Jason checked out everything & fixed the problem without delay. Stuart had pulled Jason off another job due to the emergent nature. Thank God for people like Stuart who really showed how he cares for his customers.

In a year-long renovation of my 97 year-old father's house, the biggest problem was finding a reliable, fair electrician.  Even Yelp recommendations don't help.  No one responded, no on showed up; and, worst of all, wanted exorbitant prices for a small job.  I thought I'd give it one more try, as we just needed one more kitchen fixture hung.

Enter Stewart.  He responded quickly; was very honest about his time schedule; kept me updated on his schedule - even after having emergency surgery on his arm. Today, he and his crew showed up, on time, and did a great job!

If you're not in a hurry to get something done, it's worth the wait for S & B Electric.

Did a great job, Stuart was very flexible and did his best to accommodate my schedule requirements. He was happy to do additional things that I asked once he was on site, and found and fixed a safety hazard with the wiring in my attic. He will be my first call next time I need electrical work done.

We had 2 other electricians out and they couldn't figure out our issues. Half our house lost power.  For 4 days !  Everything was checked , replaced.  And still no power  all electricians that cane were baffled.  BUT. S&B figures it out !!!! Yay my power was back on and fixed !! Derek found the bad plug behind a fire wall in a furnace closet ! And found a few more that burned out from the first bad one.  !! Great company. Will use them again !!

I called Stewart because my dishwasher wouldn't run. I thought I had checked the breaker, but Stewart walked me through doing it correctly. Now it runs.
Stewart told me that if he had to come out and flip the switch for me, I'd have to pay for the service call. In other words he did what he could to save me money.

Super glad I found out about S&B Electric on Home Advisor.  Stewart responded very quickly to my RFP and wound up providing a great service at an affordable price. Stewart is an excellent electrician. We have worked on a few projects in my home, and i have a few more coming up. Trustworthy, creative with solutions and affordable.He even identified inappropriate wiring that both my HVAC and alarm companies had done (fire hazards), and I was able to recoup costs to have Stewart fix them. Although the work performed by the onsite staff was good, the office could use some help with the bookkeeping. I tried several times to get a response and receipt plus estimate for possible future work, and have had no luck getting either one after phone call and online request.

My husband and I haven't had a very positive experience with Stewart.

A. He's extremely difficult to get in touch with and rarely calls you back.
B. When he came to do the electrical, he complained that there were only two light fixtures when my husband had stated 3. I thought no job was too small for you?
C. Hours after he installed a fixture the lights started blowing out. After calling him several times, he blamed the issue on the light fixture and called it a day.

We have a lot of work to do on this house and he just lost it. Would not recommend S&B electric.

I had a tripped circuit in my kitchen. The circuit breaker stuck in the middle. After requesting a quote on yelp, Stewart gave a reasonable quote and told me to try pushing the breaker harder (which fixed the problem!). Thanks Steward!

I requested a quote from S&B Electric for a few small repairs (a few switches and outlets not working) and also for an estimate on adding recessed led lighting in our living room.  I received a prompt response and set a date for the repairs and estimate.  The crew of 2 took care of the minor repairs quickly and also saved me money as I didn't need a new outlet as I thought - they just corrected the wiring.  (They also did a little safety check and suggested I change my lamp timer to a more modern one.)  While here, they looked at the living room ceiling, and I received a quote for installing the recessed lights the next day.  I agreed and the crew was scheduled to come within a couple of days.   I was impressed by how they moved most of the furniture out of the living room and covered the rest plus walls and drapes with plastic to protect my things from the plaster dust.  They did a nice job, and I'm very happy with the work and the reasonable price.

WOW, I am very satisfied by the service that S&B Electric provided. They came early and provided the service very professionally in a very short time. They really know what they were doing and the price is very affordable. The owner, Stewart was very accommodating and the only person who was able to come and provide the service ASAP, the next day, after talking to him around 8:00 p.m. the night before. I will definitely call back and use this S&B Electric for all my electrical need going forward. And, I will recommend Stewart to all my homeowner and/or business owner friends for sure! Stu and his crew did a bunch of work in our condo a couple of weeks ago that involved installing new lights, relocating a coax port, installing and relocating a new panel, and a couple of other touch ups. They got the work done in 2 days, were great about cleaning up, and came in less than I was expecting for the amount of work they did. I recently bought my house. S & B were hired to do the inspection. Curtis was so friendly and helpful that I knew RIGHT away I would want to call them back to do the actual work. For the inspection he was willing to come later in the evening, after working a full day, because that was the only time we were both available. He did not hesitant to stay and answer EVERY question I had. He explained things so that I understood them (as I do not know a lot about electrical work) and did not rush me so that he could leave sooner.

When returning to do the actual work Curtis and Stewart arrived. They completed everything as planned, at a reasonable price. Both were very friendly and respectful. I appreciated how down to earth they both were. Again, everything that was completed was explained to me in ways that I would understand and every question answered before they left.

One minor issue came up recently. Again, Curtis was willing to come out after his long work day to quickly fix it. He was very friendly and personable (remembered some of the things we had spoken about before). I don't know about you, but I personally really appreciate that quality in people.

Long story, short my experience was fantastic and I will definintly be using them in the future if ever an electrical issue comes up, as well as referring them to anyone I know!!!

Stewart is an amazing electrician! He came over to our house late night to help us. He was very informative on what was going on in our home and recommend that we replace some items that were faulty. And gave us great pricing on his services. As well as hooking up a new breaker for us just to have safe power and a bulb so we can see in our bathroom. Stewart showed us that we really cared about safe electricity.

Stewart is a great guy to work with. He is upfront and honest. We were in a time crunch to get some electrical work done, and Stewart and his team were able to start the very next day. Seriously, HIRE SB ELECTRIC! I'm not usually and All Caps person, but they deserve accolades! We needed our spa hooked up and after calling electrician after electrician and learning how slow and unprofessional they can be, I stumbled upon SB electric on Yelp. It was 9pm and we needed someone to come the next day. I thought I was out of luck. For the first time I used the Yelp messaging feature (since it said they would respond within one hour) and sure enough Stewart replied. It was late at night, he was with his family and he replied by setting up an appointment with us. The next day they came and did the electrical work. Unbelievable. Stewart and his staff (Josh) were personable, fast and knew exactly what they were doing. Customer service is amazing and their work product is beautiful. Also, the price was extremely reasonable and spot on! They care about their customers and perfection of product. I just can't say enough about them. We are so happy to have found this company and will be using them for all services in the future. You won't be disappointed!

Stewart the owner of S&B Electric is very reliable, professional and helpful.  I have hired him to do several different jobs at my house from installing a new fan and light fixture and troubleshooting and fixing a short in our basement.  

I also hired him to fix the breaker box at my grandmothers house and it was a job well done.

I have referred him to several different friends and colleagues and they all thanked me for the referral.  

I know there are several electricians to chose from, but I highly recommend Stewart for he is honest and reliable.

As a property manager in the bay area its always very challenging to find honest, reliable vendors but I have indeed found that through S&B. No job is too big or too small. We hired S&B for a job a while back to work on my parents 23 year old house in Fairfield, Ca. My dad is getting older and isn't as flexible, so Stewart came and hooked up the house. My dad is such a critic and usually is able to do everything that has to do with the house.

He installed ceiling fans and lighting throughout the house as if they were bought with the house originally. I have to add that these are on vaulted ceilings. My parents were extremely grateful for a job well done. Last minute, my father also asked Stewart to install outdoor lights and without complaining, they headed off to the hardware store.

I would definitely recommend S&B Electric to everyone. The overall quality was def 5 start worthy. But the customer service, you can't beat.

We had our entire house rewired. A solid old house from c. 1912. They were recommended by the company putting in a new furnace for us, and Stewart and his crew did a very good job, from basement to attic. There were cross beams in the walls and that made it more difficult but Stewart did not change the estimate and they were able to rewire with a minimum of opening up of walls. We were informed and consulted about all aspects from placement of fixtures to every hole that would have to be made. Very personable and considerate crew too.  His company is very busy so book early!

We have used S&B Electric for over four years now, when we first moved into our first house, when we redid the kitchen, and now with our second house, which is a huge project.  Stewart is always timely, is quite competitive with pricing, and does great work.  I've worked with enough contractor types, that I'm impressed when other trades people compliment me on the electrical work we've had done.  I don't always make referrals to friends/family, but I have told everybody about Stewart and his team and they have been equally impressed.

Stewart the owner of S&B Electric is very reliable, professional and helpful.  I have hired him to do up grade all the electrical in my kitchen.  I was in the middle of my kitchen remodel when I got a really high estimate from the electrician who I had called at first.  My son found S&B on yelp and suggested that I call them for and estimate.  Steward knew that I was short of time and still did not take advantage of my situation and gave me a great estimate that included coming to complete the work the next day.  To me that was of the special things about Steward.  He came the next day, like he said, and completed the job in one day.  
 All the workers he brought with him were respectful of my house and me.  I would highly recommend S&B and Steward for any other electrical work to my family and friends.

On a Sunday night it is hard to think about getting an electrician to come to your home.  Well I did get Stewart to come to my home, he was pleasant, efficient and informative.  He diagnosed the problem and made the repair rather quickly.  I had two breakers that were burned and could have caught my house on fire.  Thanks to Stewart responding and diagnosing and also having the replacement breakers, this was an awesome experience.  I recommend him highly and I will use him again.
