Got Watts just completed installing a 5.5kW solar array. Key points:

++ Unlike many other companies, Got Watts did not price gouge ahead of the NEM2 cutoff, earning huge respect from me! I know this because (a) I shopped around to many other companies, (b) I got a quote from Got Watts about 9 months earlier, then hired a roof+solar company, then fired that company after the countless number of phone calls it took to get the roof installed, and (c) re-contacted Got Watts and saw only a slight inflationary increase in the quote.

++ Unlike larger companies, I was able to call and speak to the project manager directly (as opposed to a customer service intermediary), which helped resolve issues quickly and keep the project on track. Eg., in correcting a design/drawing issue (see last point), the engineer simply called me and I was able to provide the panel model number and clarify the panel configuration. This prevented phone tag, prevented miscommunication, and made me feel respected and worthy of their time.

+ Sam Moore provided a great quote and was patient with me when I got confused by the contract language.

+ Lindsay and Mallory kept the project moving to meet the NEM2 deadline, providing prompt and efficient communication.

+ Mike was highly experienced and proficient as provisioning the system, and was willing to move the conduit (inside the wall) they initially installed to avoid conflict with drywall.

~/+ My atypical electrical panel situation was not relayed by the initial quote team to the designers, leading to a necessary permit resubmit. Thankfully my town has a very fast permit department, so this only caused a short project delay, and Got Watts resolved all the issues without trying to add-service fee and without any drama.

Let me start by saying that under most circumstances I'd definitely recommend Got Watts. While I didn't end up working with the company, for reasons I'll explain below, it seems like a solid operation. The representative I dealt with, Troy, was well-informed and helpful, and put up with my many phone and email questions. For the most part, my impression of the company was otherwise favorable as well.

However, one big glitch popped up as I was preparing to sign with Got Watts for it to install solar panels on my house. Since the deadline for signing up for NEM 2.0 is approaching, I wanted to make sure that I wouldn't be committed to NEM 3.0 and to Got Watts' full $28,000 contract price if for some reason the NEM 2.0 application wasn't submitted on time or was rejected. I knew that this was highly unlikely, but just wanted to be certain.

To my surprise, after checking with his manager, Troy informed me that in fact I'd be responsible for the full $28,000 and for proceeding with NEM 3.0 (which I would not want) if somehow my NEM 2.0 application did not work out.

I was so surprised by this that I emailed with Troy a couple of times just to be sure that there was no misunderstanding. He was perfectly polite in relaying this information, but the manager stood firm in their position.

For what it;s worth, the other solar panel firms I was in touch with had no problem with confirming that I would only be responsible for my $1,000 deposit, at most, if my application failed to qualify for NEM 2.0. To be clear, they also informed me that, no, I would not have to proceed under NEM 3.0 either. So I went with one of those other firms.

I came away from this episode somewhat chagrined about the situation. If Got Watts is going to have such a policy, it should inform potential customers up-front. As it is, I wasted a good amoung of time discussing the plans and preparing to work with the company, before finding out about the full-payment-regardless policy. It also obviously delayed my finding another firm to work with.

Again, my impression is that Got Watts is fine to work with under most circumstances. But I'd check and ask about the fine print of its service and contracts carefully before commiting to the company.

Sales:
Rob Kindt was low-pressure and extremely patient. I originally sought quotes from two other local installers and selected Got Watts because of Rob and the company's vibe.

Project Coordination/Management:
Lindsay Altman continued the excellent vibe from Got Watts throughout the process. Any question was answered in a timely matter. Lindsay has a great handle on the team and gets everyone scheduled promptly.

Electricians:
Travis came in super friendly and engaging. Had me laughing and feeling comfortable right away. His crew (Pablo and one other) were super cool/polite too. If anyone at Got Watts is reading this, please give credit to the awesome guy who ran cable in my attic! Tough job, and he was very helpful/knowledgeable.

Rooftop Crew:
I didn't get a chance to interact too much with these guys but shout out to Justin, (lil) Jeremy, and Isaac for doing an awesome job! Super fast and clean setup! I was amazed at how fast every panel went up.

Final Setup/Battery Guru:
Marc is one of the Got Watts guys with all the knowledge. Not only was he walking me through my Enphase battery app and physical hardware, but he was also helping tons of his coworkers when I went out there remotely. Marc knows his stuff and wanted to ensure I felt comfortable with the handoff. Thank you, Marc!

I waited 3 weeks to schedule a technician to come to my house and provide a quote on a heat pump system.

The technician came and spent an hour discussing the project. However, I never heard back with a proposal or anything, despite my following up with an email.

If Got Watts didn't want to bid the project, the right thing to do would have been to be up front about it and tell me. Simply disappearing was unprofessional and makes me question their reliabily on following through!

Another 5-star review for Got Watts.

TL;DR: All companies are great on the front-side of sales: lots of shiny brochures, impressive graphics, and what-not ... far fewer will show up in an hour /after/ the sale when there's a problem. Got Watts will.

Not long ago, we had a fairly minor issue with some of our panels in the high-wind/rain and the crew was over in less than an hour in wet-suits with ladders. Problem solved before lunchtime. A few weeks later, a had a Hmm... I wonder? style question and emailed Jeremy, the owner, with a Hey, no hurry, just wondering in the future... and received a comprehensive response, like, the next day (and another follow-up). The after-the-sale service is spectacular.

I presented another quote which they said they will look into matching / bidding.

I appreciate that we came this far and you offered to bring it up to the owner.

Initially they presented reasons why the other bid cant be matched(out of area bid etc).

After we establshed that this quote qualifies for the criteria, it's extremely confusing that they started saying that they wont be able to price match.

Would have saved both of us quiet a bit of time going back and forth had they not gotten into the charade of price matching(they claim they will beat any quote by 5%).

Based on the other reviews they appear to be a great company. I however left thinking my encounter was a waste of time.

Love this team's down-to-earth communication style and work ethic.

We've experienced an electrical issue that caused our HVAC system to stop functioning. This was caused by a failure in a Polaris lug that connects the HVAC's power supply cable to the main power supply. The connector, which literally blew up in flames, was installed 4 years ago by this team, part of a project that feeds power to an EV charging system and the HVAC

The team was completely backlogged with other projects but one of the owners, Jeremy was able to come in same day, after hours and apply a temporary patch using a lower grade connector - which immediately restored the HVAC.

The next day, another team mate, Chris, came in and followed-up on the work by installing a brand new Polaris connector. He also replaced the breaker on the circuit. All free of charge.

Chris was able to further investigate the power circuit feeding the HVAC and identified a few issues that could have led to the failure OR lead to future failures (a fuse which was mis-calibrated to the HVAC's spec and higher than normal voltage coming into the house which we reported to PG& for further investigation).

Even though they couldn't tell with 100% confidence what might have caused the issue (could've been the higher than usual voltage from PG&E, a manufacturing defect in the connector, etc.) I appreciated the process of teasing out the potential causes and identifying clear next steps.

Outside the scope of the main work, the team took a deeper look at our electric panel and noticed that the breaker controlling the solar system wasn't appropriately matched with the panel so they replaced that too.

Along the way, I enjoyed communicating with Jeremy & Chris who patiently and clearly answered a variety of technical questions for me.

This is an excellent company. The entire process from initial contact to final installation was smooth. The communication from all the team members was excellent. I was kept informed about every step of the process. The electrical installation was completed professionally by Brian and his assistant Tyler. Brian is a very skilled craftsman and takes great pride in his work. The panel installation crew was very efficient and thorough. Omar was the representative that was present for the city inspection and was very thorough in his instructions about the operation of the system.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is considering solar power.

Yep, 5 stars, let me tell you why!

My background is 15+ years of design and Project Managing in Mechanical, Electrical, Piping & Technology (MEP/T) at firms in San Francisco and the last three years of hands on PMing in the Land Mobile Radio industry on large projects. So I kind of know what I am talking about when it comes to reviewing my solar install with Got Watts. Enough about me, let me tell you about my great Got Watts project and experience.

It was time to actually get solar installed so I did the typical Yelp thing, and requested a quote/contact via Yelp and shotgunned it out to a bunch of companies. Insert your standard review quotes, bid leveling, talking to contractors and such, and at the end I was impressed with Got Watts' sales representative, Sam Moore and the Got Watts proposal. Her proposal was simple, clean, yet technical and detailed with all the info one would need to evaluate. Based on this proposal, their great Yelp review, years in business, valid B General Building Contractor, C10 Electrical, C20 HVAC and C46 Solar, I made my decision to go with Got Watts.

From the then on the process was super smooth.

In Person Site Survey= Professional and smooth. Chris was out and walked though Sam's original design, validated the spaces on the roof and reviewed with me on site. One thing I especially liked about Got Watts' proposal is all the conduit from the solar arrays is run INSIDE the attic. There are no conduits running over my roof, nothing wrapping around the eves, it is all hidden inside the attic. It looks good!

Final quote and contract = Discovered my house's electrical entrance was too old and too small for solar. We needed to add a bigger entrance panel, but since Got Watts' is a full C10 electrical contractor, they were able to roll that directly into the project. Contract was laid out clearly, stated all the details, all the pricing clearly and the terms were standard.

Project Kick off and Management = Detailed, verbose, personable and hands on. Before the contract was signed Sam introduced me to the project team with Lindsay Altman taking the lead on the install process. Right as the project kicks off, Lindsay sends out a very detailed email with all the steps for the project, when to expect certain emails and letters from PG&E, the solar supplier, the financing company, etcetera. Super detailed and gives you an instant overview of the whole project, when the home owner has to do things, when PG&E might do things and when Got Watts will do things.
The Install and the Install Crew = Professional, on the ball and easy to work with.

These guys rocked the install so much so I asked for their names so I could personally recognize them of their work. Justin Bennett, Jeremy Leatherman, James McCaslin and Alexander Wollschläger all worked on my project, were great, helpful and fun to work with. Now being a Cat Lord myself we have to give a shout out to Alex's cats Loaf, Baguette and Croissant who were honorary mascots along with my cats Automat Kalashnikov (Auto), Ophelia (Fifi) and Claire.

Since I had to have a full meter and panel board replaced, the install crew scheduled with PG&E for a very tight integration. PG&E fully removed the lines coming to our house, James and team had the new panel in, new mast with weather head, all new conductors in and then had PG&E back on site and our power on fast. They offered to set up their generator to keep the fridge and such powered up, but it was so fast we did not need to.

So while I was actively involved in the project, it was because I am curious and interested in how things work. The great Got Watts team, including the President Jeremy and the VP Troy Carlock take a hands on approach, with Jeremy answering my technical questions, and Troy finishing the final inspection. Regardless of your technical level, I think Got Watts with take great care of you and your solar project.

We recently had solar installed back in November 2021 by the Gott Watts team and this review is long overdue. My wife and I researched several solar companies and landed with Gott Watts based on a personal referral from a friend. From the beginning the Gott Watts customer experience was top notch as Sam Moore took us through the details of the project, answered questions and provided several proposals based on our home and requirements for why we wanted solar. We went with Got Watts because of the great experience we had during this process and the referral from our friend who also had a great experience.

Once the proposal was approved, we worked with Lindsay from the team on the project timeline and final approval of the plans. Lindsay was great in answering all of our questions and scheduling the install. Once on-site, the Got Watts team was very thorough and inquired with us each step of the way including on where we wanted certain piping connections so that they were not visible from the front of the house. I would say the level of customer service from the electrician and his team was also high quality as he walked us through each step of the process and made sure we were happy with the end result.

We also want to thank the roofer Justin for his great work on the panel installs and working with us on fixing a spot on our roof that had leaked during the October storm. Last, once all the panels were installed, the owner, Jeremy, came out to do the final setup of the system including doing a dry run of the battery and walking us through how our system worked. Again, the high touch service was excellent as Jeremy spent considerable time with us making sure we knew how our system worked and what to do if any issues arose in the future.

Overall we are very happy with our solar install and would highly recommend Jeremy and the Got Watts team for your solar install and battery backup.

I called Got Watts on a friend's referral after learning that we had to apply for our Solar system NEM-2 PG&E interconnection by the April 13 deadline to achieve greater payback. I spoke with Sam Moore, Solar Specialist, on December 30. We had a system design, cost, and schedule by January 3, and Chris, their site inspector, had assessed our site by the 9th. We signed the final contract by the 12th. From there, Got Watts and their engineering and operations team members completed design, procurement, permitting/interconnection applications by February 15th, two months ahead of the deadline. We constructed on February 23-25 and received our City inspection on the 13th of March. Our system is ready and waiting only for PG&E approval to operate. This couldn't have happened so quickly without the efforts of Lindsay Altman, Operations, Daniel Harrold, Project Manager, Mallory Erwin, Coordinator, Alexandre Wollschlaeger, Electrician, Cody, apprentice, and many other craft personnel. Everyone was friendly, punctual, productive, and very professional. We were so impressed that we awarded them our HVAC project as well!

I selected GotWatts for our new solar system after about 2 weeks evaluating installers in the area. Pricewise they were in the middle of the bids I received. I found Sam, the designer, very responsive and easy to work with. Our house is large, with many roof surfaces and lots of shade. Sam came up with a design which meets our electricity needs and maintains a panel-free roof surface facing the street.

Once the initial design was complete Chris came by to perform a drone flyover/analysis to finalize the details; the design was then submitted for engineering plans. Once I approved the plans, they were submitted to the city.

Installation was done in two stages. The electrical work, which included a main panel replacement and all of the wiring between panel and rooftop locations, was flawless. The process, coordinated by Mallory and executed by James, Tyler, and Nathan, took 2 days, and included lots of attic crawling to run conduit. Unlike many companies, GotWatts runs conduit under, not on, the roof -- a much cleaner look that requires significantly more effort. James performed all of the main panel work meticulously.

The rooftop work, which involved installing the solar panels took a day and occurred a few days after the electrical. Coordinated by Lindsay, the team included Justin (lead), Jeremy and Abraham. Again, flawless work. I had my roofer inspect the installation and he gave it an A.

In addition to being completely satisfied with the end product, 3 things about my experience with GotWatts deserve mention. First, while the overall process has multiple steps and people, handoffs are clearly communicated and smoothly executed. All emails and calls were returned the same day. Second, solar systems take some time, largely due to plan reviews and PG&E coordination. But GotWatts never let up on the pedal -- there were no unnecessary delays in getting the project done.

Finally, all of the people mentioned above were respectful, honest, and positive in our interactions. They spoke well of the company and its owner, Jeremy and took pride in their work. For me this is one of the most important factors in choosing a company for a significant project and is why I use Yelp reviews in my selection process. It certainly worked this time!

Eric and the crew did a top-notch job installing the system and showing us how to operate the system and how to program it, and their after-sale support has been stellar. We decided to explore GoWatts after receiving two quotes from competitive companies. We provided a very detailed description of what we needed to upgrade our heating system to add HVAC. Gowatts was pretty booked so we had to wait a month to schedule an appointment. On the day of the appointment Eric Shaefer reached out saying he is pretty busy because of ongoing inspections and that this company only does electric work and not HVAC (really, why are you advertising it on your website??)... Bottom line they were uninterested to work with us on this project and found excuses to cancel. I wish we knew a month earlier so that we could have worked with one of the other vendors and have the system already installed. Really unprofessional... Will never contact again for any house work.

Got Watts replaced my main panel and subpanels in my 65 yr old home. They also installed 2 ventilation fans and lighting in my bathrooms plus updated circuits in the bedroom. I highly recommend them, they were a pleasure to work with. Our work was scheduled to start the day the atmospheric river hit the bay area. PG&E had many emergencies and canceled on us 4 times. Mallory, Brian, Alexander and their team showed up on time and did all the work they could up to the point where PG&E had to turn off our power. The team worked efficiently minimizing the times they needed to turn my power off. Brian always warned me when the power would be going off and for how long. He even offered a generator if I needed it. PG&E finally showed up one morning unexpectedly, I called Alexander and he was at my house within a half an hour. I am very happy with my new electrical boxes, lighting and upgrades. The team was very professional, was never late, friendly and hard working. I will deffinitely use them again.

Without a doubt one of the best contractors to work with in the Bay Area. Their prices are fair, but more importantly, their expertise and workmanship is top-rate. If my only contractor needs were electrical, theirs is the only phone number I'd ever need.

We hired Got Watts for a rooftop solar system and they were an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end -- and even after the system was installed and operational.

From scheduling and billing with Lindsey to site analysis visit and follow-up troubleshooting with Chris, and installation with Justin, everyone we had contact with from this company helped make the entire experience as easy, professional, and comforting as possible.

Our solar project manager, Sam, was super responsive and provided personalized service that made us feel as though we were family. Any time we had questions or concerns, she went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. When there was a potential snag due to a mess of previous electrical work done on our roof by a different contractor, Sam and Jeremy went out of their way to find a custom solution to get us the power production we needed.

Our system has now been operational for 2 months and it works great!

I love Got Watts. I first used them for a panel upgrade and solar. On that project I had my 'honey do' list and the whole experience was fantastic. They completed all the annoying little projects I had. So happy to turn on the bathroom fan without all the upstairs lights dimming! The solar install was amazing. They walked me through the whole thing, gave me an estimate of what to expect, responded to my requested changes, prepped the roof and then the panels seemed like they were on in hours. The new panel looks so professional and has given me so many more options. Most recently, I asked them back to run additional power to my garage. I worked mostly with Brian, but also James and Chris. I really appreciated Brian's attention to detail. Even though it was the garage he ran the cable through the framing so that if I later wanted to drywall it, I was ready. I didn't even think of that! He was a great communicator and I always knew what he was doing and why. He also did a great job pretending not to be annoyed that I was doing a project on the driveway at the same time. :-) James and Chris replaced my exterior lighting very fast and cleaned up the old stuff. The new lights look great!

I was looking for quotes for whole House Fans ahead of the hot summer temps. Specifically, I wanted quotes for the Quiet Cool brand of WHF.

There are a limited amount of companies that specialize with this brand (it's the best) and Got Watts was one of three that I received.

The whole staff there are pretty great. From Sam and Shelby in the office, to James and Jeremy the installers - everyone was knowledgeable and professional throughout the whole project.

There was a hurdle encountered with my initial plan for the WHF: Due to limited clearance in the attic, the single large fan would not fit. James and Shelby came up with the idea of dropping down one model and installing two smaller units side-by-side. They even worked with me on price so that it wouldn't be too much more than originally quoted.

I couldn't be happier with how the project turned out.

Travis and his electrician team arrived at 8am sharp, and performed all the wiring and installations needed for the panels and an EV recharger in a day. We hired Got Watts to install an electric charger in our garage. In one word, they are fantastic. Chris provided our initial quote. Sent an inquiry to Got Watts for a new HVAC system. Signed the contract on 2/19/2021. Retained financing. Got Watts sent to the financing company an INFLATED price for the job that was NOT on the contract I had signed. Only after I threatened to report them to the State Consumer Affairs Department and contact all the local television stations about them inflating the price of the job did I hear back from them. This was the second week of March. I heard back within a couple of days telling me they were ready to install and that it would be the first week of April. Haven't heard anything from them since. It is now April 26. Not one call. No HVAC system. All of my calls go to voicemail. Cancelled the contract. Called the financing company to cancel the loan. I would NOT recommend them in any way, shape, or form.

Got Watts installed our solar and battery backup system in November/December 2021. We are so happy we went with them.
The team: Sam (Samantha), Solar Sales Specialist; Lindsay, Solar Projects Coordinator; Chris, Project Manager did the site inspection; James and Tyler did the electrical; Justin and crew installed the solar panels; Troy inspected and met with the city inspector; and Jeremy set up the battery system and the app. They were all incredible, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, easy to work with, and always answered our emails and phones promptly.
If possible, Got Watts likes to run the solar conduit into the attic which makes for a cleaner look on the roof. Neighbors have commented on how nice our solar looks.

I had Got Watts install a NEMA 14-50 outlet (w/ lockable cover) for my Tesla EVSE, which added a 50 amp run from the main panel, which was on the outside of my garage wall. They installed the outlet on 3/15/19 and I had my inspection on 4/26/19.

I received quotes from 5 separate companies (with/without the permit, and for owner-pulled permits). While Got Watts definitely was not the cheapest option, I went all in and not only had them do the work, but also pull the permit. I chose Got Watts due to their proximity to my home, stellar online reviews, and their excellent communication/explanation.

On the day of the install, I was not at home. However, Gott Watts agreed to give me a call so that I could remotely open my garage for them to work and close it when they were done. The install only took a couple of hours, and the technician did a wonderful job, placing the outlet and cable holder (a free add-on surprise) at the perfect location and height. He even sent me pictures to keep me apprised.

Nothing but great things to say about Got Watts! We were so impressed with the service we received from them and highly recommend them for all HVAC needs - and have already referred our friends. They installed a mini-split system in our house and were amazing to work with - professional, friendly and prompt. Eric Schaefer is the best! We received three quotes for mini-split systems and Got Watts was by far the most reasonable. They really understood what we wanted for our 95 year old home and got it done! They removed our old gas furnace & covered the hole in the floor. The have already been out to service us AND they sent us flowers to celebrate our newborn baby! Jeremy, the owner, was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, very detailed, and took the time to really understand what we were looking for. We appreciated all the time he took to make this process go as smoothly as it did! What I liked most about Jeremy and how this company is run is that he is very honest, trustworthy, and the company is very transparent throughout the whole process. Darrin, a solar estimator, also came to our home and was able to answer all of our questions. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and provided us with a detailed report with charts in order to help us choose which solar panels we wanted to purchase.

There was slight damage around the drywall that they ran wires to. They worked with us and hired a painter to fix the drywall and repaint the areas. We really appreciate that they paid so much attention to these small details and they really care about the service they provide.

We couldn't be happier with our experience with this company. The quality of the work they did was outstanding! We really appreciate that this is an honest and upstanding company.

This post is way over due, but the recent PGE PSPS made me remember how Jeremy and GotWatts got our solar and battery backup system running properly. Long story short, our first installer did not install our system properly and could have caused a major safety issue with improper wiring. Jeremy came out to inspect the issue and fixed the safety issue on the spot. His team later came out to get our system running properly, they cleaned up the mess of the first installer and got everything working properly they way it should have been from the start!

Got Watts has been amazing to work with!!! We had a solar system installed on our roof, and a new heat pump put in to maximize those solar panels and both the HVAC and solar departments were fantastic. Sam was our sales person for the solar and was hands down the reason we went with Got Watts. Very communicative, responsive, helpful, and knowledgeable. I had a ton of questions, some of which I was having a hard time getting answers on from other companies, and she would always get back to me with great information. They were also very competitive on price, and we couldn't be happier with the quality and value that we received.

Eric spearheaded the HVAC sales and install and was also great to work with. I had talked to a couple companies that knew almost nothing about heat pumps, but Eric knew all about them, and the Mitsubishi systems they work with are some of the best. He was full of options and different ways to make the system better (more insulation, better filters), without being pushy and trying to force a sale.

The installation and inspections went as smooth as they could have, always lots of communication and professionalism. They gave us the quote right before Covid-19 shelter in place went into effect, so it took a long time to get the system actually in the house, but they did great with all the new rules in place, and dealing with the city, which was probably the hardest part of the job.

I can't recommend them enough, if you're thinking about going solar or getting a new HVAC system, this is the company to have do it!!

I used Got Watts to have solar panels installed for our home. Throughout the installation process, I never had any hesitation that I made the best choice in choosing my provider.

I specifically worked with Sam Moore and she was incredible in helping us to design and walk us through the entire process. I often find contractors slow to respond to inquiries, but Sam always responded to my questions within a few hours (even when she was on vacation!). Whether it was how big a system to install for our home, recommendations on the types of panels to use, the pros/cons of going with one solar vendor vs another, Sam was always thorough and detailed in her responses, something I very much appreciate. I also appreciate that Sam never steered us in the wrong direction. If I asked a question to which she wasn't completely 100% certain of her response, she would let me know she didn't have an immediate response, research it, and then get back to me. I find this type of customer service hard to come by these days.

I'll also add that most projects are ever executed flawlessly. After we had agreed on a final design of our system, including the layout of the panels, I was told another panel needed to be added for various reasons. Rather than passing the cost on to me, Got Watts informed me since they had made the mistake in the design of the layout, they would eat any additional costs to honor the original quote. To me, this indicates Got Watts really does have your best interest at stake.

I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone needing to get electrical work done, solar installed, or roofing redone. I would love to work with the folks at Gott Watts again if another electrical need comes up.

We hired Got Watts to install solar on our house, and have been very pleased with every part of the process. I shopped around for bids from 8 different solar installers, and pricing and quality was all over the place. Got Watts offered the highest quality equipment at one of the most competitive prices. Darrin at Got Watts was by far the most professional and responsive person out of all the companies I spoke to. I also appreciate that they are a local company who supports my children's school.

The turnaround time between me submitting our energy usage and Darrin producing a couple of different proposals was excellent. He was very open about the the different options available to us, and there was no pressure to chose anything we weren't sure we wanted.

Once the contract was signed, we had regular follow-up regarding scheduling of the installation and permit status. Any questions I had were answered very quickly by Lindsay, our project manager.

The installers were neat and professional, and I could not believe how quickly they worked. The electrician did a fantastic job, nearly all of the wiring was done through the attic, so we didn't have the eyesore of conduit snaking all over the roof. We also had a vehicle charging station installed in the garage, and it was a similar high-quality and neat looking installation.

I wouldn't hesitate to hire Got Watts again for any electrical work I have done, and I would recommend them to anybody who is looking at installing solar and/or an EV charger.

Awesome service and fast. I called for an appt and they were about 2 weeks out, which is fine and they were probably busy. I had Ray and Ace come by to install 2 ceiling fans for me and oh man, they were quick. They cleaned up well and left my place the way I left it. They were both friendly and courteous.

Booking the appt was easy and talking to Shelby was easy. The price was very fair. I am thinking of installing the Whole House Fan and may call them sooner than later to install it. My go to electricians.

Can I give ten stars? I would in a heartbeat. This is a lengthy and well deserved review, but if you would like just the highlights -

Seamless, fantastic, professional design and installation. Trust these guys to DO THE JOB RIGHT!.... read on for a few details.

I initially got a bid through Costco, and while it seemed in order, I wanted to investigate other options (I'm glad I did). I contacted Diamond Certified Got Watts for a second opinion, and right away it was apparent that the other guys had proposed a system that was nowhere near the requirements that we needed, and still would have left us with a significant power bill. Rick Perez produced a design that gave us a 100% offset and most importantly, is virtually invisible from the street (obviously that may not always be possible). Watching our meter run backward definitely makes me smile. Additionally he incorporated the very important (imo) battery back-up which ended up proving itself invaluable during the recent power outages. We had all the power we needed to run the essentials such as the built in refrigerator, lights, outlets and microwave. Remember, even with solar, if you don't have a battery back-up, you will have zero power during a blackout (it's a safety measure). Lindsay then stepped in to provide absolutely seamless financing, scheduling and follow-up care. Installation proved to be challenging because - and this is important - they didn't take short cuts. James (J2) and his team did a fantastic job of ensuring the house was properly and professionally prepared for panel install - 5 days worth of properly. This is where the difference in company pays off. If you want a system installed with minimal care and time, leaving conduit running all over your roof - hire a company that doesn't use professional electricians. You'll get what you pay for - I promise. James' 1 and 3 :) and Jeremy stepped in to ensure the battery and components were functioning properly (no easy task). Jeremiah (who is also a professional roofer) and his team installed the panels and even went above and beyond by replacing a few broken tiles that we had. When it was all said and done, it turned out there was a small glitch with one of the two inverters (through no fault of Got Watts) and Lindsay immediately had a replacement ordered and had it installed before I knew it. Again, if you don't care about service after the sale, there are plenty of other options. Let me be clear, this was a BIG JOB with many hurdles. Anyone who has ever done any major home improvement can attest to the fact that there are always surprises. Hire a company that can navigate and manage those unexpected surprises and get you a superior finished product - hire Got Watts Electric and Solar.

We interviewed three electricians for a job at our home to install new wine refrigerators and other outlets. Jeremy, the owner, was extremely professional and detailed. The estimate was line item by line item in a computer printout with nothing left to chance. They were on the expensive side but you definitely get what you pay for.

The duo who did our job were very professional and hard working on our site. In particular, it was great to have an electrician with a background in carpentry like James. He not only had worked on the carpentry part of our home construction 5 years ago, but knew the importance of clean installation in a home of our quality. Both he and his partner problem solved on site and communicated with our cabinetry people to make sure that they had the correct understanding of the installation and the requirements. I appreciated that they were able to do the job as you specified and with minimal damage. Gott Watts electric is one of those rare firms that actually does what they say, is creative about how to get you what you want, and does so with professionalism and courtesy.

We didn't select GWE because they were the least expensive (however, that was one important consideration... and they did come in the lowest), but from the initial sales consultation, it felt like GWE knew what they were talking about, answered every question we had thoroughly, had done many of these projects in our area, the referals we received provided us with outstanding feedback, and they're a local company. They communicated clearly every step of the way, delivered on each arrival/work date as promised (another important factor: from the date we signed into contract, just as promised, they completed our project in

Got Watts is the GOLD STANDARD by which ALL companies should be measured for the absolute best service I never received. Jeremy of Got Watts came out to give me an estimate on solar. He asked about the age of the roof, I told him it was about 30 years old. He said it was probably not worth installing solar panels at this point because they would need to be removed when I put a new roof on my house. Nevertheless he spent about an hour with me looking at various options before going up top to evaluate the roof, which confirmed his suspicion that it wasn't in good enough condition to install solar. What company spends and hour with someone, and then talks themselves out of a sale? A company that has your best interest in mind - not theirs! I have used Got Watts many times before, and I will continue to use them because they are honest and the best at what they do!

Had a power issue over a holiday weekend which caused our AC to switch off, just as it was over 100 degrees outside. Obviously not a good situation, but instead of charging a fortune for coming out after hours the tech talked me through some steps to try on the phone. It turned out to be some sort of 'ghost trip' (great future band name) of a breaker, which caused it to switch off internally without flipping the switch itself. Was easily fixed but wouldn't have figured it out without their help. Will definitely use them for any future issues.

I was looking for an electrician for a pretty sizable job of not only replacing several light fixtures, but also someone who could install a plug for our electronic vehicle. I also wanted someone knowledgeable with solar, since we had an existing solar system, I didn't want to have things get messed up. I called three other places and received two other quotes, and one guy didn't even come by to look at my system because he says he's too busy. The last guy didn't even bother to return my calls. Got Watts sent someone out and gave me a written estimate in days. Unfortunately as I feared, I needed an electrical box upgrade, but the pricing was competitive and work was done timely by very courteous technicians. The one thing I wish they had broken out the pricing in more detail in their quote, but other than that, excellent service and would highly recommend them.

The owner Jeremy came by and gave me an estimate for a whole house installation of LED Recessed lighting as well as all new ceiling fans, smoke detectors and lighting/outlets in my garage.

Got Watts Electric is definitely an A+++ company to work with! Shelby Kromer, office manager, guided me through the entire estimate process for installation of a NEMA 14-50 for Tesla charging from the outside main panel to inside the garage. The final quote was reasonable as it included the permit cost from the Contra Costa County Building Department.

Electrician Chris arrived on time (within his 2-hour window) and finished the entire project in under an hour. Afterwards, he pointed out that I would need to follow up with an inspection by Contra Costa by calling 925-646-4108. It's an automated system, so enter your permit number, enter code 420 for an electrical, and chose your inspection date.

I checked cccounty.us for the schedule of the day's inspections and was given a 11am-2pm window. Inspector Daniel arrived at 11:20am and asked me to please remove the cover to the main panel (needed a screwdriver to remove two screws). After a quick look, he signed off on the permit!

Had a fantastic experience with this company. We met the owner, Jason, at the home and garden show at Concord Pavilion. He spent a good amount of time talking to us. We initially were looking for a whole house fan for our new residence. His product was incomparable to the competitor's product at the show. By that, I mean his product was superior. We also had them install 4 bathroom exhaust fans.

The crew came to do the work and WOW.....very impressed. Full walk through, professional guys.

Chris, Ace (yes, his actual name), and James (that's James with two cats, weird right for a grown man?), were absolutely awesome.

They also solved an issue we were having with our LED recessed lights buzzing when on.

Great job from the phone correspondence to the install. Jeremy (the owner) came by my house to consult the project and thoroughly explain each step. Considering my job was a 'small job', I was still impressed by his attention.

Got a phone call reminder the day before and the tech, Ray, showed up right on time. I appreciated his professional disposition and thoroughness to detail. The work truck looked clean, well stocked and organized. Ray finished up the job and left the site clean and ready for inspection. I had them pull a permit for me and they did all the paperwork including the schematic drawings and load calculations. Scheduled a county inspection which took all of 30 seconds.

We just bought & moved into a new home and of course there were a variety of different electric needs we had for this house - the main priority being replacing an old and unsafe subpanel in our garage.

From first phone call until finished project, Got Watts was an absolute dream to work with. Other service companies should take note from them. Their communication was clear, prompt, and they were always on time for their appointments (YES!).

Jeremy came out to our place and gave me a bunch of quotes for all the different things I wanted done. I plan on doing everything eventually but for now, since the priority was the sub panel, we went ahead and just did that part of the project first.

Chris and James came on project day, were on time to the DOT and were super courteous. My 3 year old was obsessed with them and kept asking where the ewec-cwistian was HAHAH. They even fixed something with my water heater while they were in my garage just because they noticed an issue and thought it would be an easy fix for me .. free of charge! I didn't even know there was a problem but these guys go above and beyond.

I'll definitely be going back to them to finish out the rest of the projects we got quotes for inside the house .. super impressed and would def recommend them.

As my wife said.... This is how ALL companies should run a business.
from beginning to end Got Watts did a great job. After making the appointment they send sent emails to confirm appointment and then called ahead to re-confirm.
Then the day of the appointment they called to let us an update to narrow down within the window of time when they will show up for work.
The two electricians showed up early and then we realized that the attic fan Quiet Cool air register could not go where we wanted it to go. They were VERY patient with me as we talked about where we might be able to install it.
Once that was solved these guys went into work and did a great job.

I vetted four different companies (big and small) extensively before choosing Got Watts. The systems ended up fairly consistent, pricing too, as it's a very competitive space, but I thought Got Watts had better overall customer service. The sale rep I worked with specifically was Sam Moore, she was super responsive and answered my ENDLESS stream of questions. I appreciated that she followed up with me without making me feel pressure to choose them. The team that worked on our house did a great job, the entire crew was friendly, I believe the lead was James. Just finished a panel change, drop line relocation, and upgrade of two ancient subpanels. From start to finish, this group was outstanding. Chris provided great explanations of what would be needed and a corresponding extremely clear, detailed scope of work and cost proposal. Shelby, Office Manager, proved incredibly adept at working with an often cranky and non-responsive utility company. And Danny and Bryan completed all three sections of the project on time with teamwork that demonstrated how a great company can work efficiently and smartly. After getting three bids I went with Got Watts for solar panels on my house. I found them to be the most thorough, personal and trustworthy. Pricing was great, follow up was great. By the way, a lot of solar companies wander residential neighborhoods and give you strong sales pitches, sometimes suggesting (basically lying) that the government is mandating getting solar panels. Got Watts did not do that. In fact I found them on Yelp. I strongly recommend them.

This is a long overdue review as I've had Got Watts work on my home for a few different jobs and I cannot speak highly enough about their service and accountability at a competitive price. I've had them do jobs as large as changing out my main panel and sub-panel to installing dedicated circuits to support new equipment installations at my home.

My initial engagement was with Jeremy the owner and I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and professional. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to know that their prices were competitive with electrical companies that seemed far less professional.

I've found their services delivered to be thorough and timely. To be honest, I've also had a few instances where they've had to come repair components that had failed before their time and Got Watts moved mountains to make sure that they took care of such issues in a timely manner without additional cost.

With their responsiveness, attention to detail and focus on customers, I can't recommend Jeremy and Got Watts enough. They will continue to be the first call that I make for any electrical needs that I have.

After comparing many companies, we decided to choose Got Watts Electric.

This ended up being a fantastic choice. The sales rep. Darrin was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and available. Answered all questions and concerns very quickly.

Upon install the workers did an incredibly efficient and neat job. It was as if they were never there and the equipment looked as though it was built with the home. An installation of a cooling fan added a much cheaper alternative to Air conditioning system that we had in place. We use it all the time.

Met JC, the owner, who set up the system and demonstrated its capability and helped with the ability to manage the technical aspects of the system software. Also very friendly and personable.

I had been contemplating solar for a long time, and finally found a vendor that I trusted to work on the purchase. Take advantage of available tax opportunities which help make this a very easy financial decision. I highly recommend.

Got Watts numerous high ratings from Yelpers are correct. Got Watts are professional, knowledgeable, trustworthy, reliable, friendly, etc.

I was looking for a whole house fan with installation. I did some online research on manufacturers and types of whole house fans, and installer companies around the Bay Area. When I concluded my research, I knew what I wanted and who was going to install it...I wanted a Quiet Cool whole house fan installed by Got Watts.

I called their office and the earliest appointment I got was 1.5 months out, on 6/14. However, I was told that if there was a cancellation by someone, they would call me. My lucky day came two weeks later. On 5/21, Brian called and said he could install it the following day and he would be there between 4 and 5 PM.

Brian arrived on-time and promptly went to work. He completed the job in about 2 hours and cleaned up any mess he made. Before leaving, Brian explained and demonstrated how to use the wireless remote, and a few other things about the system. He also gave me the Quiet Cool warranty paperwork and emailed me a copy of the receipt.

I couldn't be happier with the whole process, the Quiet Cool whole house fan, and Got Watts.

These people are great, period and Lindsay Rocks. 6 years ago I used them to completely wire my extensive kitchen remodel. From start to finish it's probably the best contractor experience I've ever had. So, fast forward to today. I purchased a house with installed solar. It was complete and in operation. The problem arose when I called PGE to put the account in my name. PGE told me they had no knowledge of my solar system. Seems the installer dropped the ball and filed for bankruptcy having never completed the PGE agreements required for solar. Thru several phone calls it became apparent I was stuck between a rock and a hard place. PGE suggested, due to the complexity of the situation and the application itself, that I start over with a new installer to go thru all the steps except the physical build since that was apparently done correctly. I called GotWatts, they explained under the circumstances they wouldn't finalize a project that someone else actually built, BUT, Lindsay in their solar department offered to help me accomplish it all myself. To shorten up the story, after several more calls and emails with PGE, the City, and GotWatts I filed my application and got approved in just 6 days. I never would have been able to accomplish that without their help Especially Lindsay's. GotWatts asked nothing in return for this guidance but they certainly have my gratitude and I hope to use them again someday, (they do HVAC now).

Oh man what a difference the right people make! Got Watts sent Danny out to properly install an outlet for my dishwasher, he did it right. Professional, friendly and very efficient. Basically had to redo the work I previously had done that cost twice the amount and was useless. Due to Danny's work I was successfully able to get the dishwasher installed and I'm good to go. If you don't engage Got Watts you are settling for second best in their field!

If you are interested in getting solar panels, I highly recommend Got Watts. I started looking into getting solar panels last summer and had talked with a number of solar panel installers. One I contacted was Jeremy Carlock at Got Watts. He promptly came to the house to check out our roof to see which parts were best for solar panels. He then sat down with me for over two hours patiently going over all of the options available - which solar panels were best and cost effective for our application. He is not limited to any one provider and knows which panels and warranties are best and which providers provide the best service should warranty work be needed. He recommended the manufacturer and number of panels best and most cost efficient for our application. I also wanted a battery backup system and he knew all of the best ones available. He was, hands down, the most knowledgeable person I talked with. The fact he is an electrical contractor made him invaluable in dealing with electrical issues encountered. He answered all of my questions regarding the contract, pricing, etc. In addition, he does not use subcontractors to install the panels or do any of the electrical work.
I chose the panels and battery backup he recommended- Pika - since purchased by a Generac-- a modular system, not a wall battery. Not the least expensive, but the best system in my view and well worth the cost.
Permitting, interfacing with PG&E and installation went smoothly. Installation took place in October, as soon as we could get on his schedule. When you are this good you are going to be busy! All of the people installing the panels and doing the electrical work are first rate and very professional and they all work directly for Got Watts. I am sure that is why the work went exactly as scheduled. James and Alex of Got Watts were especially good and very responsive to all of my questions and concerns as installation proceeded. Lindsay, the in-office coordinator/scheduler was also fabulous and very responsive. The job was completed on time and on budget. We had one minor issue with a small crack in a wall during installation and Got Watts promptly took care of it.
It is now April and the system has been working as predicted. We had our first live test of the back-up system the other night when our power went out due to PG&E work in the neighborhood. This revealed a couple of minor issues in our essential circuits for that system. One Email to Lindsay and James was here THE NEXT MORNING to take care of it---at no charge.
Needless to say, I am very happy with Got Watts and its entire crew and I highly recommend them to anyone considering solar and electrical work.

We loved working with the Got Watts team on our recent solar and backup battery project. We had been thinking about installing solar panels and a backup battery for some time and the PG&E safety shutoff programs in the fall is what finally made us commit. We reached out to Got Watts immediately and were lucky enough to with Sam on our solar design. She answered all of our questions, provided a TON of thoughtful options for us to consider and helped us pick a system setup that was within our budget and achieved the 110% energy offset that we were seeking. She provided detailed specs using satellite images of our roof and designed for areas that get the most amount of sun. We also got a Pika backup battery to give us reserve power in the event of a full shutoff. Once we picked a design, our project coordinator Lindsay took care of all the paperwork and PG&E applications. She provided a very helpful step-by-step guide of what we should expect before, during, and after the installation. The install only took 4 days! James and Alex were absolute wizards in getting all of the panels, wiring, batteries, and panel upgrades installed. They were extremely easy to coordinate with when they needed our input to make a decision. James and I would even Facetime when it came to setting up the internet connectivity for our backup battery and he needed my help to test our network while I was at work. When it was all done, Jeremy, who runs got Watts, and Sam, our designer, came out and gave me a detailed overview of the system especially our backup battery. We've had it up and running for several weeks now and it's so satisfying to watch our entire house run off of the sun during the day and then switch over to the battery during peak PG&E billing hours. We're excited that our electric bills will essentially vanish and that we now have the peace of mind during any outage scenario all thanks to the Got Watts team! We would absolutely recommend Got Watts for solar and electrical work.

Loved having work done by Got Watts! EVERYONE communicated with us quickly and clearly. Shelby was very helpful over the phone. I booked an appointment two weeks out and when my schedule shifted I checked in with her to see if they could come later than we had planned. She regretfully told me their schedule was very full, which was understandable I was requesting this change a day or so before our planned appointment time. However! The morning of the appointment Shelby called to let me know a company vehicle had been broken into and if I'd still like someone to come by later that would work well for them. It was an unfortunate situation but I was thankful/surprised she had remembered my request!

The appointment was pushed to 2-3 that afternoon. Chris and Ace were great! Calling to let me know their exact arrival time, staying true to that time, letting me know what/how long it would take to complete the bathroom fan replacement and cleaning up after themselves. I was really impressed with my first meeting (estimate) with Jeremy Carlock. So professional and respectful. He put on booties before entering my home. I had about 6 estimates. Some contractors showed up late or not at all. Bids to rewire a 900 sq. ft. home ranged from $6,600 (was not listening) to $15,500.00. My cost was approximately $13,000.00 which included sheet rock patching paint ready. I'm satisfied and would recommend Got Watts Electric in a heartbeat.

Here are the details and things you may be interested in. I was without electricity for approximately 5-7 days. They did keep my fridge connected and I lived in the home. I had no tv no internet and read at night with a battery operated reading light. It was a challenge and something I would probably not repeat. I do not recommend scheduling anything around a holiday. It felt invasive, and the dust was definitely a problem for me. If you can afford a hotel or have friends close by that you can stay with, do.

In fairness this last sentence was recommended by Jeremy. These professionals did everything they could to minimize my inconvenience and make it as livable as possible. Troy, Ace, Chris and James were pleasant and obviously very good at their craft. I felt extremely confident that I was getting every penny's worth. What a great feeling when you know you made the right choice.

I'm not saying there were not bumps in the road. You cannot undertake a job like this and not have issues. Whatever they were they were resolved in a friendly respectful manner. Whenever something came up I was reminded by the guys that this was my home and I should have things the way I want them even when it required a change or redo. Shelby was so nice, helpful and my phone contact.
If you want a job done well, and reasonably priced call Got Watts Electric.

Got Watts has helped me twice and both experiences were stellar. The first job was to check the electrical systems when we were purchasing our home. Troy came by to complete an evaluation and he was thorough and efficient. He made sure to point out a socket that needed to be replaced which we had the seller take care of before moving in. Troy also made sure to look in the attic and verify that there was no knob and tube wiring. He went the extra step to make sure the electrical was truly up to the required standards.
The second time was when we put in our air conditioner. Got Watts handled all of the electrical required for the new unit. They were extremely fast, but they never cut corners. I was impressed with the level of professionalism and knowledge, not only with Troy and Jeremy, but their entire team.
I have also worked with Shelby in the office and she is friendly, diligent and astute. She immediately helped me get an appointment to coincide with the AC installation and she kept me informed each step of the way.
Overall, they do quick, clean work and each member of the team is a true professional. Customer service is paramount to this company and I highly recommend Got Watts for all of your electrical needs.

3 years ago I asked Got Watts to do some electrical work on my house.
In the course of their work they discovered a very serious electrical problem due to incorrect installation by a previous contractor.
They guided me on how to contact said contractor and the contractor had Got Watts correct the problem at no expense to me.
At that time I asked them to install an electrical receptacle for a electric car that I would purchase in the future.
Last week I purchased the car and when I went to check the plug it was different than the one I needed.
I contacted them to help me with the new plug.
They checked their records, and realized they had installed the wrong receptacle .
The next day the technician was at our house, installed the correct receptacle in about 30 minutes and did not charge me saying they should have put in the correct receptacle before.
I would surely call them the next time I have electrical repair or installation needs.

These people are Crooks. The quoted me$ 125 over the phone . Then when arriving to my house they charge me 225. On top of that they would not honor their own gift certificate that I purchased off of Yelp to use for their services. I highly recommend you do not use this company. They are shysters. The receptionist does not know her job or how to quote work. They are definitely a bait-and-switch company. If you would like to be overcharged for any work by all means hire them. We were very disappointed by their service. We had inquired them to come out for an estimate to fix some issues in the house. But they were so backed up just that appointment took a month for them to come out. We were told upfront that there would be a charge for diagnosing and troubleshooting, which is fine. But then they estimated the cost of total services to fix our problems to be $3000! Which just seemed way too expensive for what we needed done. And then we had to pay $350 for just that one appointment. So we decided to get a second opinion which ended up being a fraction of the cost. Just $700 for everything and more. And there was a free estimate with the electrician we went with. Yeah not too happy with this company.

Met with Jeremy, the owner, to install a NEMA 14-50 outlet for a new EV car. He was knowledgeable as to up sizing our panel, best location of the receptacle and brought to our attention that our solar system warranty could be jeopardized. We then contacted our solar company and made assurances that Jeremy's work would indeed not jeopardize the warranty. His employees both in the field and in the office were highly professional. The city inspector came on the wrong day, whereby Jeremy's employee was not present for inspection. The inspector approved their work and Got Watts refunded us their inspection fee without our asking. Highly recommend Got Watts to anyone needing electrical work.

We recently had to have our main panel upgraded for a hot tub installation. We first went the cheap (foolish) route and paid a guy for some side work that he did on weekends. He screwed up so bad and his work was potentially a fire hazard. We then called Got Watts Electric who came by with a two-man team (Brian and James) and fixed everything in a day. They are knowledgeable, thorough, and professional. I highly recommend them. Don't mess around when it comes to electricity issues. Invest in the professionals at Gott Watts who will do the job right the first time. I will be calling them in the future for any and all electrical issues, big or small.

Got Watts is our go-to electrician. When we first moved in to our house and noticed some electrical irregularities, we called them and they did a thorough once over and gave us excellent advice and corrected all the previous DIY indiscretions as well as some of our planned upgrades. They have always been on time, efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. When we had them put solar on the house, Jeremy was very thorough, explained everything in terms we could understand, and the crew did an excellent job. I can truthfully say I am enjoying paying my $15-$25/ month electric and gas bill rather than the $100+ our non-solar friends are paying. It's been two years now and I got a call from Jeremy yesterday saying they had received notice that our battery pack was not registering with the company. He called to check and was going to schedule a technician to come and check it out. Turns out a safety latch had popped open (probably from doing some garage cleaning), I snapped it shut and the system came back on. It's a hallmark of this company that they look after their customers. I heartily recommend them.

I contacted Got Watts to install a Quiet-Cool whole-house fan system for my home, referred by a friend who was very happy with them. They scheduled a site visit with the owner, Jeremy, who was on time, professional, and helpful. Because of the size/layout of my ranch style home (and attic) we decided on two fans in parallel with the 2 HVAC systems I have. Because I was going through an authorized installer, I had the option of the higher end quieter and more efficient fans (Stealth Pro 4.8), which I chose. The estimate was fair and immediate.

On install day, Ace and Rey spent the whole day at my house, did one side in the morning and the other in the afternoon. They were professional, clean, and diligent. They accommodated my requests about positioning of the intake grate and wall switch to match and line up with existing hardware.

My wife and I are very happy with the whole-house fan system and have been using it every day since, significantly cutting down on our air conditioner use. I couldn't be happier with the service from Got Watts and will look to them for other electrical projects in the future.

We bought our new home a few months ago. Chris from Got Watts came to our house and gave it a thorough going through to assess the electrical situation. He checked everything very thoroughly and answered all of our questions on the spot. He quickly fixed a few things even though that wasn't on the schedule. Best of all, he figured out how to get the garbage disposal working! He went above and beyond what was required and is the best electrician I've ever worked with. The company is great too - they have a receptionist to answer the phone (you don't get sent to voicemail) and they call to remind you the day ahead of your appointment. Very reasonable prices too.

Finally getting around to this. Yep, we very much enjoyed the process from start to finish, and ongoing since then. Slightly better overall price than major local competitor (larger system recommended/installed, but better price per panel/watt). Little communication hiccups due to various unexpected things, but always explained/open about. Jeremy (owner), Darrin (behind the scenes proposal developer/communicator), and on-site crew (especially roofer/installer guy, I forget his name), were all great/communicative/friendly. All have been prompt/helpful including after the install said and done (now 3-4 months later). Office crew were also very friendly and helpful.

This review might have been 3 stars because of less than stellar workmanship in the wiring/installation of ceiling lamps in some bedrooms, but we shared our concerns with Got Watts, and Shelby took care of the problem right away, sending an independent crew (Miller Interiors) to come out the next day to correct it. They came and did a great job and Shelby showed me that Got Watt has great customer service. From the beginning, scheduling was a breeze with this team and they saw it through the end. Things happen, and that's okay, but their response was better than I expected. Thank you!

Found out the hard way our 1950s house still had live knob and tube (K+T) wiring throughout the vast majority of the house. Ended up getting quotes from 5 different companies and Got Watts was pretty middle of the road regarding price but went with them based off of other reviews and they seemed legit. Work included drywall repair and city permits as well.

Overwall, will definitely recommend to others in the future. We specifically had Abe for the majority of the job with help from Ray and Ace as well. All three were very professional and on time every morning. They were also great with our dog which is always nice. Cleaned up every day at the end of the job. Would also ask me for approval for unclear items prior to going ahead. Would go with them again in the future!

I spent the scariest night of my life last Wednesday when all my power sparked, flickered and finally went out completely after smelling electrical smoke coming from several areas in my condo I contacted my association. They sent Got Watts out on Thursday and by Friday my power had been fully restored. Chris, James and Danny were awesome to work with...all very patient and understanding of the situation. Got Watts was one of two electricians recommended by the Walnut Creek Tesla dealership. I got a Tesla and needed to have a 240V outlet with a NEMA 15-40 receptacle installed in my garage to charge it. The other Tesla recommended electrician wanted to charge double of Got Watts. I am very happy with Jeremy and his team at Got Watts. Jeremy was punctual and professional when he came to give me an estimate. And his team showed up as scheduled and did their job efficiently. The electrician even when above and beyond his scope of work when he found an old breaker that was not up to code and helped me change it out. I would recommend them if you're looking for a reasonably priced electrician that will get the job done right.

We had an electrical problem we could not solve. It was a fire hazard so we were very nervous. We called them at 6:00 p.m on a Saturday evening. They warned me up front about the possible charges we might be looking at, so there would be no surprises. Ray arrived at 8:00 ready to go. He was here until 12:30 a.m. He worked very hard to get the problem solved. Of course it was a little expensive (emergency call in a Saturday night), but worth every penny. He solved the problem and made it so that our electrical system was stronger than before. I would definitely use them in the future. Excellent customer service, very professional, and hard working.

Had Troy and Abe over to the house to do a repair on a few light fixtures. They were incredibly friendly, informative and helpful. Tony clearly explained the issues with our current system, things to consider for the future and what our next steps should be. Additionally, he gave me some insight into how much things would cost and how to assess what needs to be done vs. what's not necessary. Abe quickly fixed a non-issue with another fixture and swapped out a broken remote control on the spot (saving me time and additional effort). Really high quality work. They're also really nice, honest guys which are hard to come by when finding electricians and contractors.

I found Got Watts really valuable and plan on having them back to the house to do more repairs to our 100 year old home.

I tend to write reviews only when somebody or someplace is either outstanding or exceptionally bad. I don't have time to spend writing reviews for all the average businesses out there who perform as expected but don't in any way stand out from the crowd. James and James from Got Watts Electric earned their 5 stars. It was a relatively routine job, installing some recessed lighting in our living room, but they encountered many problems along the way due to inadequate wiring done by the original owner of the house and minimal crawl space above the ceiling, making it a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience for them. They could have made it easier on themselves by making holes in the wall, but they chose the harder way, which was much better for us.
They did a beautiful job, with smiles and a sense of humor. They were amazingly efficient under the circumstances and took the time to clean up every speck of dust and dirt. They had to put in extra effort for this job, but did not charge extra money for it. Their price was very reasonable. I will most definitely hire them for any electrical needs in the future.

Found Got Watts on Yelp, and was happy to discover that the reviews are absolutely true: these folks are great! We had them install new outlets and replace a ceiling fan, a bathroom heater/vent, and all of our kitchen under-cabinet lighting. The quote, scheduling, and my post-installation questions were all handled quickly and professionally, and the installers were prompt, fast, tidy, and really nice. I also appreciated the vendor & fixture advice that Jeremy provided when we got our quote; everything we chose turned out to be perfect. I am quite shocked to be writing a one-star review as I contacted this company based primarily upon a solid 5-star Yelp reputation. I sought a contractor to install solar panels on my house. After the installer came out to the house to do the site inspection, I was given a quote for the project and let them know that the quote was acceptable and that I wanted to schedule the install. I also wanted a separate quote for some other electrical projects around the house and I was given an appointment for 9:30 AM to go over the projects. I received a call the evening before the appointment and confirmed the appointment. At around 9:35 AM I received another call stating that the contractor is not going to be able to make the appointment and wanted to see if I could do an appointment that afternoon instead. I told the person that I had to get back to work and that it was extremely difficult for me to clear my schedule to set the initial appointment given the nature of my work and that I needed to go to work. The lady apologized and told me that I would receive a phone call that afternoon and that I could go over each of the projects over the phone with the contractor to get an estimate by phone. I received no phone call that afternoon. I received no phone call the following day. At the end of day 2, I did receive an email from the president of the company apologizing, and stating that someone would call me the next day. Next day, no phone call. Next day, again no phone call. I finally emailed back on the 6th day asking if they had any intention of moving forward on my project. I received a call the next day apologizing for the situation and stating that the contractor who was supposed to meet me at 9:30AM was booked for another appointment and couldn't show up. (I don't understand how this could happen when I received a confirmation the evening before.)

I was next told that upon further discussion they weren't comfortable moving forward on my project due to the pitch of my roof and attempted to refer me to another contractor for a quote. I requested an explanation as to why the pitch of the roof was factored into the original quote and why the initial quote was even given (after a site inspection) if they did not feel comfortable with the project. I didn't receive an answer and to be frank, I think they were lying. This was my biggest concern of all. I can handle delays and missed appointments, but when seeking a contractor, the biggest red flag for me is when they lie about little stuff. If you're willing to lie about little stuff, then you're willing to lie about big stuff too.

Don't tell me that you double booked an appointment after confirming that appointment the night before and that's why the contractor didn't show up. Tell me the truth - i.e. he forgot, he overslept, he had diarrhea all over the toilet. If you're going to lie, at least be convincing.

When you drop the ball and don't call someone for six days, don't lie and claim that you aren't comfortable with the pitch of the roof after you looked at it and already gave a quote for it. Tell the truth - we think you're mad at us because we've completely ignored you and we don't want to enter into a contract with you. The main reason for the one-star review is not necessarily because of them dropping the ball. Had they sincerely apologized and picked up the project, I would have forgotten about it. The one-star review is because when this company drops the ball, they lie to you and leave you sitting on the floor.

I declined the referral and advised that I wouldn't be pursuing this project with them any further as they hadn't conducted themselves in a professional manner. The representative agreed that they had not done so and apologized.

All in all, Gott Watts Electric wasted a complete month of my time. While I appreciate all of the apologies given, there didn't seem to be much sincerity. When I'm seeking a contractor for a major project, I want results - not apologies.

Darrin presented a program for us to install solar panels and was in competition with two other companies. His proposal was the most thorough as we had to have a pool solar system removed from the roof prior to installing the panes. He was the only one who said he would take care of it. Our panel box had to be moved and he was the only one who said that the stucco work could be done by his company. The crew that did the work was professional and courteous, knew the inspectors that came to permit and sign off on the work and made everything go smoothly. The job was cleaned every day. They were well worth the price and incidentally were lower than the competition. Great service at a great price. We couldn't have asked for more.

On a Friday, we had Dan and Brian install a new electrical panel (wonderful guys by the way) in our garage. What started out as a harmless, straightforward install turned out to be major hiccup during the course. Background: we have a garage door opener and it was switched over to manual mode because of the conduit that needed to be installed. Once the install was completed, our garage door got misaligned and one of the the window panels shattered. As soon as that happened, Dan was on the phone looking for a solution to have this fixed. Got Watts contacted a garage door repair person and had them come out the same day for repairs. Garage door was back on track and working fine, however, the window wasn't replaced. I texted Dan the same night and gave him the update and he mentioned to me to call anyone to have the glass panel fixed and they would take care of the charges. I contacted a few places with no luck. Monday rolls through and I contact Dan first thing in the morning. Explained to him the situation and he made a phone call to his superiors. No less than an hour later, Got Watts (Lindsay....another wonderful woman) contacted me and said they would have a contractor to our place first thing Tuesday morning. It is now Tuesday (lunchtime) and the broken window garage panel was fixed and replaced. My wife calls me and says, I love Got Watts. They were in constant contact with us assuring us everything would be taken care of. A slight inconvenience of a having a garage panel open during the weekend but things happen on the human nature. I get it - - accidents happen, and the great thing is they took full ownership of it. They took care of us BIG TIME!! I would definitely use them again (which we will) with our electrical needs. Jeremy promptly returned my call and came out to our home the same day to provide me with estimates. We upgraded our electrical sub panel (which was a fire hazard), installed LED lighting, rewired a couple switches, and installed a whole house fan. The fans that Jeremy uses are quality made, super quiet and very efficient. Our house feels significantly cooler when we use it. We were considering an a/c unit but I'm not sure we need one anymore. Troy and his crew arrived promptly the day of and took care to cover and move the furniture. They worked efficiently and cleaned as each job was finished. Any concern I had was immediately addressed. Jeremy followed up when the job was done and immediately sent someone over the following day to take care of some finishing work. I highly recommend this company!! And I really have to agree with the other five star reviewers, professional quality integrity impressive... The list goes on. These guys are the real deal. We started out with a job at our community pool a couple of swim seasons ago. We've had them back to the pool for some other no-job-too-small jobs since then, and even a warranty repair on a light they installed. Great customer service, and they are very easy to work with. When a panel upgrade opportunity came up with our purchase of an older home, of course we called Jeremy Carlock and his team. Our project was not easy, and the home was built by it's owner in the early 50's in a very 'make it to last' kind of way. What a fun few days at our house while the guys crawled underneath the house, up in the attic, and busied themselves in every room, being respectful and choosing kind words when the house threw them a curveball. When the work was finished and the guys were all packed up and ready to move on to the next job, we were sad, it was like the circus was leaving town. :) Looking forward to some remodel projects so we can call these guys up for more productive fun days.

Chris who has done work before on my house which is being updated came out today to do some additional work. Chris always calls if he is running late and will give an estimated new time. When Chris shows up he is ready to work and before Chris starts any job he gives you the upfront cost. I can see why Chris is the lead electrician.

I added 2 additional jobs but Chris said he would be able to handle all the work on this visit. Of course the pricing changed and again before Chris started he explained the additional charges and getting my approval before starting.

Chris is by far the best of the best. Got Watts has done a lot of work for me over the last year and I highly recommend them for any electrical work needed. You can request Chris like I do. You won't regret having him do the work and overall having an excellent company backing up the work

Jeremy came to our home to give us an estimate on a whole house attic fan, as well as a few other jobs that we have been meaning to take care of for years. The estimate was clearly written, and he even offered to separate out the house fan work from the rest of the repairs in a separate estimate, but we told him it wasn't necessary. We were impressed by how thorough he was (and he's a really nice guy!) I wasn't home for the installation, but my husband raved about the professionalism of the installers. The house fan installation went smoothly, and they quickly installed/replaced a backyard light fixture, as well as a couple of outdoor GFCI outlets. Most impressively Abe and his co-worker (sorry his name wasn't on the receipt) spent a lot of time trouble shooting planter box lights that haven't been working in over a decade - and got them up and running!

We purchased a new home in Oakland in November 2014 and simply wanted to install some recessed lighting in place of the super ugly florescent lighting that was in the house when we bought it, and fix a few small electrical items that our home inspector recommended. I reviewed Angie's List and Yelp and saw all of the 5-star reviews for Got Watts, so we had them come out to give us a quote.

Jeremy promptly came out to the house and was very honest, friendly and informative when going through our plans with us and letting us know what our limitations were and what Got Watts was able to do. During the process, Jeremy told us that we would need a power panel upgrade to bring more power into the home since there was simply not enough power to provide enough electricity for the home (we were already previously informed by our home inspector that this was a possibility). So, this would require us to install a bigger power line from PG&E coming into the home, and also a new power panel. We chose Got Watts for the project and they proceeded with the job.

After completing the installation of the recessed lights and the new power panel, it was (quite unfortunately) discovered that the new power panel was not compatible with the wiring in our new home, which was 70% knob and tube wiring. The presence of knob and tube wiring was never discovered by our own home inspector and not included in our home inspection report! Jeremy tried to find a fix for us so that we would not have to rewire the house (i.e. remove all of the knob and tube wiring). He spent 12 straight hours at our house on a Sunday, looking for the culprit section of knob and tube wiring that was causing the circuit breaker to trip when challenged. He was unable to locate the problem, but while in the process of looking for the problem, he discovered even more poor wiring deep in the recesses of the house, which was a further safety hazard.

We discussed our options with Jeremy and concluded that a rewire was the only option left if we wanted to pass the final permit approval from the City of Oakland for the new power panel. By this point, it was around Dec 18th and we really wanted to move into our new home by mid to end of January, and still needed to have the walls (which would have giant holes in them due to the rewire) patched up and painted before moving in. So Jeremy and his crew worked on the rewire project all throughout the Christmas and New Year's holidays, fitting us in wherever they had openings during this time. We were so appreciative that they worked so hard, spending time on our home when they could have been home with their loved ones over the holidays.
The final outcome was better than we could have imagined and we are so happy with the finished product. We now have a safe and fully modern wired home. We even had Got Watts install high-speed Ethernet, digital voice and cable jacks in several rooms since the walls were already opened for the rewire project!

Throughout the project, Jeremy, Troy, Abe, James and other Got Watt team members were true professionals and always answered our questions. They took the time to explain to us why certain previous wiring in the house was done with total lack of safety, and how they were going to fix it. Jeremy said to us during the process, this house is the worst house we have ever seen from an electrical standpoint in 15 years of doing business.

In addition to managing their timeline perfectly, Got Watts' team brought in boot-covers to wear to install fixtures that arrived late after we moved in, and they were extremely careful not to dirty our newly cleaned floor and furniture. They straightened the crooked switch plates (installed by previous owners) whenever possible for a better aesthetic and provided other valuable design related suggestions from the electrician point of view. They left their master lock box for our painter to use to make our painting process smooth while we were not at the house. They are true professionals that offer the highest level of service and experience.

Despite the massive hurdles we all had to overcome, Got Watts did the job and finished on time! It was an expensive and much bigger project that we had anticipated, but in the end we were very happy that we chose Got Watts to complete the project for us. We highly recommend them to anyone who has electrical needs for their home or business.

This company is phenomenal. We had quite a bit of work to do (200 amp main panel upgrade, device replacements throughout the home, sub panel relocation and re feed, etc). Every person we interacted with from the initial bid by Jeremy, to the highly knowledgable and professional technicians, was a pleasure to work with. I really feel they had our best interests in mind with regard to safety and electrical longevity, and I felt they didn't try to gouge me at any point during the estimate/billing process.

I wanted to especially single out Ray, who spent the final two days at our residence working in our attic, basement, and throughout the inside of our home. His work is spectacular. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Ray again, and will absolutely call Gott Watts in the future if needed.

We had Got Watts come out twice. The first time they came, they installed a new plug in our garage and replaced a light switch and plug. We had them come back and install a ceiling fan in 2 of our bathrooms. Both visits were by two different people and both did an excellent job. We will definitely call them again. We called around to other 4 and 5 star electricians who werent available and wouldnt make any recommendations.

So we called Jeremy and he let us know that Troy was on a job and wouldnt be done until late, but if he finished early he would call us. If not, they would be there at 8am promptly the next day.

True to their word, they were at our house promptly at 8am and solved our problem quickly.

They also cleaned up after themselves and let us know about the other services they offer.

I have been waiting to write this review until the summer arrived so I could appropriately use the Quiet Cool whole house fan Got Watts installed last year for me...and the report is that I love this fan! It is I amazingly quiet and effective (as compared to my previous one), and I would encourage anyone who is trying to reduce their A/C bills should really look into this product.

And the Got Watts crew was amazing in their service, as I had lots of questions and concerns about the logistics of the install. Jeremy and his crew were patient, friendly, and clean, from start to finish!

These guys installed a Tesla charger a few days before Christmas for me last year. Very fair price (slightly lower than another quote I received) they stayed until 9 pm to get the work done so I could charge and drive the car on a road trip the next day and also swapped out a few old non code compliant breakers that I had in my panel. I selected Got Watts Electric & Solar to install a residential solar system on my house in Antioch. My experience with Got Watts was professional and informative from start to finish. Most communication was by email which I like more than phone calls because it provides a information to reference. The price was not the lowest but it was near the lower end. But the panels and equipment were superior to the lower quoted systems. When I needed a sub panel put in, Got Watts included it in the price. It was not so with other quotes. The sub-panel they put in has expansion capabilities and wouldn't if they had gone with the minimum needed. The solar panels they offer include top of the line. The system includes monitoring the performance of the individual panels, not just the system. They took care of all the permits, setup, inspections and submitting paperwork to PG&E. They replaced some cracked roof tiles that had been bonded together with good ones removed from where the solar rack was installed to hold the panels. I highly recommend Got Watts.

Got Watts put a mini-split ductless HVAC in my church's ministers' offices last fall. Afterwards, we were not happy with how some of the inside hosing had been covered. Eric, one of the owners, came out and agreed that a better job could have been done. He sent one of his workers out within days to redo the work and he did a great job! The mark of a good business person, in my opinion. The heating part of the unit has been used all winter, to rave reviews. We bought a new all electric car and wanted to charge it while it was in the garage during the evening. The existing electrical system in the garage was not capable of handling this.

This firm was highly recommended by a friend whose house they had worked on, so we asked Jeremy to analyze the situation and prepare an estimate.

The unattached garage is located below the house. The electric panel is on the north side on our house and the line had to run underneath our house in a very small crawl space over to the other side of the house, then underground outside the house for a short distance, and then down the hill to the top of the garage.

In addition, it was not clear whether our existing panel was adequate for this new use. Jeremy carefully calculated the various electrical uses, and analyzed the situation to determine that we could use the existing panel, thereby avoiding a very expensive upgrade.

We accepted the reasonable estimate (we did have an estimate from another electrician with a good reputation) and Troy did a great job installing the conduit on one day, and then returning one morning to complete the electric wiring in time for the delivery of our new car.

The workmanship was first class, and Jeremy and Troy were highly professional in dealing with us.

Jeremy is a consummate professional at his job. I had him out to look at some electrical wiring issues in my home, and to discuss other potential money saving upgrades. Once I booked the appointment, I received a calendar invite, and the front office called the day before to confirm. Jeremy got down to business, had me walk around my home with him, explained all his recommended fixes/upgrades, showed me a rough estimate and then later sent me a detailed, itemized proposal with several options. I was able to pick and choose what I wanted done. He was very flexible. I met with two other electricians and they were much less detailed and much more pushy/salesy. I have never wanted to write a review more than this. My electric panel is in my infants room and was overheating and beginning to smell...on Christmas Day no less. I called Watts and spoke to Jeremy (the owner) and he looked for a technician to come to my house. When he couldn't immediately get someone he volunteered to come to my house and see what the problem was. He showed up and helped us almost immediately and was honest, forthright, and just an all around great guy. I needed to get a 50A outlet installed in my garage for my car and had them come out for an estimate. Jeremy came by and was fantastic. After I confirmed the estimate and asked him when he could do the work, he asked when I will get the car. I mentioned as soon as 2 days from then, but thats my fault for cutting it close, not his, I can wait. Not a problem for him. He wanted to see if we could it get done today. Fantastic.

He called around and said today wasn't possible, but the next day was. I told him my schedule and he pulled something together and scheduled it (it was after their normal hours). The next day Abe came by and took care it fast and professionally.

From Estimate to installed was just over 24 hours, and that includes pulling permits and everything. Amazing.

This was a great experience. I've never had electrical work done in my 1970s home. Jeremy the owner and Shelby in the office were great to work with and handled the estimate and scheduling efficiently.
I'm not that knowledgeable about electricity, but all the folks at Got Watts never made me feel as if I were asking stupid questions. They listened to my ideas, questions and concerns and helped me through all of it so that my project turned out exactly as I had envisioned.
Ace and James did a wonderful job. They called when they were on their way and arrived on time. They were so helpful in getting everything I wanted done. Very professional, polite and friendly. They protected all my furnishing and carpets. The walls and ceiling were in the exact same condition as before they started. The work was done in a very reasonable amount of time. PG&E replaced our meter due to some issues we'd been having with power fluctuations. The new meter didn't fully resolve the issue. We contacted Got Watts who discovered that we had an arcing breaker which was practically soldered into place. We ended up replacing all of the breakers for a reasonable price. (We weren't scared into replacing the rest of the breakers and didn't feel pressured in any way. We simply felt it was the safest thing to do given the age/condition of the other breakers.) We were very pleased with Got Watts' professionalism, service and pricing and would recommend them to anyone needing an electrician.

I own and operate a commercial business in Concord, and met Jeremy during the course of doing business. I just moved into a new house. Everything in the place was awesome just a little to dark and need to be brightened up. After researching for the best people for the job I found Got Watts!! I couldn't be happier that I did. There was so much work to be done. The dining room needed some ambient lights for above the table. They wired and hung my chandelier for me and were extremely careful with the fragile piece that took me forever to find. They installed the most amazing lights in my kitchen under the cabinets and then really cool under lighting along the bottom of the lower cabinets that illuminate the floor. I have a few portraits and art work that I cherish and wanted a way to showcase them a little better other then hanging them on the on Jermery suggest some accent lights that shine upon my art and pictures. It really makes them stand out. All the wiring he did was perfect. My favorite part of his work was in my yard he lite up my walk way and some of my favorite plants in the garden. He also put in a security light in the front and back. We barb b que a lot and he also installed a light to help up cook it up better after dark. I 100% recommend if you have any electrical need these are the first guys you call. As soon as necessary!

I called last week to get a quote for a technician to replace my dining room chandelier with a new one (23 inches and lightweight). The receptionist stated that they don't give estimates over the phone, but they could send a technician out the following week. I explained that my ceiling was 12' and that we thought about doing it ourselves, as it was not a difficult install, but our ladder may not reach. She said it would cost $125 plus any additional parts that may be needed. A very nice technician, Ray, arrived today. I had my dining room table moved and the new fixture out and ready, with instructions laid out. Before he began, he said that he had to give me an estimate. He explained that the $120 was simply for him to come to our house and that the actual quote was $379! I was not informed that at the time that I made the call. I immediately felt that this was a scam, otherwise I would have been informed that $125 was for the service call only, and that the installation was separate fee ranging in price from ___ to ___! They may be good, as other reviewers have said, but make sure you understand their pricing BEFORE they come out!

I have an upstairs bedroom that gets very warm, especially in the summer. I decided to have a ceiling fan installed so I called Got Watts Electric. Jeremy came out right away and went over exactly what he needed to do in order to install it. He explained he was going to go through the attic so he would need access to my closet. After waking up to a fire hazard just waiting to happen (during the hottest days of the year), due to an electrical malfunction, then calling pg&e who came out and promptly shut off my service (and my a/c!), GWE was recommended to me by a trusted general contractor who had previously worked with them. Their representative Troy promptly made an appointment with me to assess my needs. I found Troy to be professional, personable and knowledgeable about all things pertaining to my problem, and he immediately started the repair process in motion. Jeremy came out to our house because I had some issues with my main panel and thought I was going to have to spend a lot of money to get my house sorted out. Jeremy came out was on time and was very informative about my options. He made the experience very easy and enjoyable I was very surprised. Jeremy is an honest straight shooting electrician. If you're in need of just a plug change or full panel swap I would highly recommend Jeremy he is a true professional.

Jeremy is reliable, prompt, honest and professional. His rates are extremely reasonable. He called the day before to confirm the appointment and showed up on time.

He replaced a switch, some GFI's and waterproofed some electrical outlets (one was full of water and shorting out our electrical system). He pointed out an illegal outlet and did not try to up-sell anything, but gave me a fair estimate for bringing it up to code.

I would highly recommend Got Watts Electrical to my family and friends. I will definitely have Jeremy back for all future electrical work I do on my house.

I highly recommend Got Watts! They exceeded my expectations in every way.

Jeremy wrote me a quote for recessed lights, and found an option to save me hundreds of dollars. When he and Abe came on the scheduled day to do the work, they were prompt, professional, personable, and knowledgable. Both Jeremy and Abe went out of their way to help with information and courtesy; they wore bootees into the house, and even whispered when my child was napping.

It is clear that they have a strong work ethic and want to do the job right (and safely) and never take advantage of the customer. I will definitely be using them again, thanks!

He is not just professional he's AWESOME. You get what you pay for in this world and he is worth every dime spent. My home is an electrical nightmare and other electricians four others to be exact have work on this home. Some creeped me out, unprofessional and didn't give us much info other then you got an invoice. Jeremy was polite to me, my daughters, husband and scared black puppy lab. Employee Chris Jones installed 2 bathroom exhaust fans that each have a light component in our 2 bathrooms. He was professional, friendly, and efficient. Today, while I was out of town, my mom called me regarding a partial power outage at her house. It was late in the day, and I was concerned that night would fall and my mom would be without lights and without power, including the refrigerator. I took a chance and picked Got Watts off of Yelp because of the very positive reviews. I was not disappointed. Jeremy immediately answered the phone and listened to me explain the situation and express my concerns. Jeremy did not hesitate to offer to help; in fact, he arrived at the house 10 minutes after my call. Jeremy assisted in diagnosing the problem (which turned out to be PG&E's issue, and they also responded out quickly to resolve it). These guys do it right! Jeremy came over to check out my situation, used shoe covers to avoid tracking dirt around the house, walked through and listened to my requests, and gave me excellent suggestions and alternatives. Emailed quote was fine and provided sufficient detail to help me decide exactly what I wanted to do. Troy arrived for the installation and repairs and also used shoe covers since he was working in a carpeted bedroom. He fixed a long standing problem and gave me light I never thought I'd have in a closet, and remediated a potential fire hazard! He completed this and other jobs around the house and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of the work. It was timely, high quality, and the price fair for what I received. Just fixing the bad wiring that could have burned my house down was worth the price.

These guys are a top rate shop and knowledgable. Responded and fixed problem same day which I appreciated. I would recommend being clear on how they charge up front...two different stories and took a little bit to work through charges, overall they were fair and did a great job. I would use them again.

PG&E told me I needed to upgrade my main power panel and circuit breaker because there are no spare parts for it. I started researching electric contractors, and after interviewing 6, chose Got Watts? for the job. Jeremy at Got Watts? gave me a bid and start date, explained the process, and I agreed to have them do the work. EVERYTHING Jeremy had told me was exactly correct, including the permits, time frames, costs, and results. Troy and James worked conscientiously and competently. Jeremy came out to install a simple installation of wall lights and investigated several cabinet lights that had stopped working months before. I would now use Jeremy and his competent team for any of my electrical needs. Why? He is polite, honest, 100% professional and patiently explains everything you need to know. 2 days before Thanksgiving, our dining room lights that are on separate dimmers quit working. Sitting in the dark with 15 guests is not a good option. Our neighbor used Got Watts? and highly recommended them. I gave them a call and within a couple of hours, the owner of the company, Jeremy Carlock called back asking me to explain the problem. I guess he sensed that we were a bit distressed about the lack of lighting for Thanksgiving supper and asked if we would be home on Wednesday at 8 AM. Of course we said yes.
He arrived promptly at 8 AM and immediately diagnosed the problem to be bad remotes on the lights. He gave us several options for repair and within a couple of hours, he had the lights working with a dimmer controlling all of them. Needless to say, my wife and I are very happy.
Jeremy is very professional, drives a newer and clean company van, dresses appropriately and is very knowledgeable. He is very courteous and respectful. He used a drop cloth on the carpets, wore booties over his shoes and vacuumed the dining room when he finished.
In the spring, we're having him back to do a ceiling fan and add some outlets in our back yard.
I highly recommend Got Watts? Electric for your electrical needs!

Would refer these guys to anyone and use them again in a heartbeat! Finally found a reliable, highly skilled electrician after Got Watts helped my son and daughter-in-law with repairs on their new home. I can do about any type of home repair, but don't like electrical. Ray showed up promptly for my appointment at the scheduled time and got right to work. He troubleshot and repaired my electrical problem on my outdoor kitchen in about 30 minutes and showed me exactly what my issue was. He even checked out the rest of the system to make sure there we no other issues. All done for the trouble shooting fee. Ray comported himself in the most professional and knowledgeable manner, and the entire organization seems highly customer focused. It is nice to work with a firm where you can get ahold of someone immediately, rather than leaving messages and waiting... waiting... waiting for a call back.

First, let me state the normal cliché, I don't write a lot of reviews. In this case though, I felt compelled because of the excellent professional service Troy Carlock of Got Watts Electric gave me. A bit of background now, it started with my wife waking me up in the middle of the night, to tell me the power was out. I of course mumbled that its probably temporary in the area of where we live, and go back to sleep. She further nudged me and said, it's just our house. Of course, I thought she was crazy, but I got up and lo and behold after walking outside on our court, our house was the only house with no power. Our lines are underground, so I saw nothing obvious to tell me what was wrong. I went to the side yard where the PG&E smart meter was located, and with a flashlight, determined, the meter was working fine. I then checked the main house breaker and found it was tripped to the middle position, it felt warm to the touch. I tried to reset the breaker, but it required quite a bit of strength to throw. Not knowing if this was a normal mode of operation for the breaker, I had visions of resetting the breaker and then being blown back against the fence, but in the movies you just get up and in real life, you are either seriously injured or dead. Getting out my phone I Googled 24 hour emergency electricians, and found Got Watts Electric, they advertised 24 hour service in my area. Got an answering service, after getting some pertinent information transferred my call to Troy. He was very professional, asked questions in a way that was not demeaning, and was eventually at my house within 30 minutes. Not bad for 12:30 in the morning. He was able to finally reset the breaker, did an on the spot load test to check the current load at the moment. Then he went into the house and inspected the house breaker panel for any issues. During the whole time he was incredibly professional, the main point is that I never felt pressured or ill at ease (what bad news he going to find about my wiring, how much extra will this be) that you get with a lot of contractors. Nothing made up or phony, no hard sell here. Basically the breaker tripped, probably just due to age. He said he could replace it, but did not feel it warranted it at the moment, and if this happens again, just give him a call at that point. Needless to say, I slept well that night. He also gave me a courtesy call the next day to just check in and see if everything was okay.

I'd purchased bathroom fans to be installed & the owner, Jeremy, gave me a very fair estimate but also warned me that the fans I'd purchase were low quality that would only last a few years. I then decided to buy better ones so I went to the other end of the spectrum and bought ones that not only had lights but also heaters. Unbeknownst to me, the wiring and labor required was fourfold that of the original fans. The electrician that showed up called Jeremy and gave me a new estimate which was still very fair & spent the day doing all the work, staying late into the evening to make sure everything was completed so I wouldn't have to take another day away from work. Fast forward a couple weeks and there was an issue with a defective breaker (manufacturers fault) that had been installed. Jeremy diagnosed the problem and had his crew fix it that same day at no additional cost. But, what really, really impressed me was that Jeremy saw something in the fan installations that didn't agree with his self-proclaimed OCD standards. Nothing was wrong but there was a small item in each installation that could be improved so he had his crew also make that change while they were replacing the defective breaker, again at no additional charge. Both times they were at my house they used shoe covers and vacuumed up after themselves. I'm sure the areas in which they worked were cleaner than before they arrived. A week passes and I received an email from them with free tickets to the local home show. Another week passes and I get a thank you card with a Starbucks gift card. I would recommend them without hesitation.
